[00:02:24] hey friends my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me Ciotti welcome to Mad skill Monday featuring CM K FPV I didn't tell him he doesn't know if he's in the chat he knows but if he's like working or
[00:02:38] something he doesn't know isn't that funny no well he's in the chat there he is what's up everybody lster was first in the chat doubles FPV was next Frank Nicholas Cole pow Anonymous Zack lster
[00:02:57] again sebb D CMYK C Hayes Douglas 6 danilla the terrible CP CVR kilo zebra parkour guide demo FPV danilla the terrible free lojo parkour guy 661 FPV what's up everybody thanks for coming
[00:03:14] Welcome to Hell that was the quad mola siren F3 and I've realized something about this Frame which it was we were almost there in the flight footage of course I forgot to hit the button that makes
[00:03:34] the lights in the room look right of course I did it is it is ass heavy like that's the front that's the back look even with the battery all the way forward like
[00:03:54] that it's still ass heavy if you grab it here so the center of gravity should be right there and it and it just I have this battery pushed really far forward th this is as far forward as I can push
[00:04:13] the battery unfortunately the XT30 doesn't quite reach with the battery push this far forward but th this is how far forward I have to get it to offset the the weight of its big long ass
[00:04:27] when I flew it since I had to plug the XT30 in the battery wasn't this far forward so it was like when I grabbed it at its center of gravity it was like it was like
[00:04:39] like this I had to grab it like all the way up here to get it to be I'm sorry I had to grab it all the way back here I should say to get it to balance straight still kind of doing that
[00:04:51] this is what that looks like if you ever wondering what happens when your center of gravity is incorrect front to rear or left to right in this case the center of gravity is too far rearwards
[00:05:05] and so I'm going to do nothing on the right stick but I'm going to pump the throttle with the left stick see that see how it's dropping its butt basically there's there's more weight in the back
[00:05:18] so when I hammer the throttle sharply and then drop the throttle back to zero it's can't quite handle the extra weight in the rear like the front of the quad is able to accelerate a little bit
[00:05:31] quicker than the rear because it's not as heavy and so that's what that looks like you can use anti-gravity to fix that somewhat but here's the problem with that
[00:05:49] anti-gravity when you rapidly move the throttle up or down the anti-gravity value is a multiplier for your pids it multiplies the p and eye gains and so you can just keep moving that up higher
[00:06:03] and higher and higher until in that scenario this thing it doesn't drag its ass behind right and so what's happening is when you stab the throttle or when you jump off the throttle it's
[00:06:15] going to push harder with the rear Motors and or limit down the front Motors it's when it bumps the pit gains up with this multiplier five or six or seven or eight that's what the pit
[00:06:27] Loop is going to do it's going to make adjustments to the four Motors it's going to add more power to the rears or break the fronts a little bit more in this case though we are stabbing the
[00:06:37] throttle so the fronts aren't going to break they're just not going to accelerate as hard but then the rear is going to accelerate really hard so the when you move the anti-gravity up a
[00:06:51] bunch it like artificially gives you more throttle because of because it's having to do more work on the rear it's a better bet to try to fix the center of gravity like having a center
[00:07:03] of gravity that's better centered you won't have to add that extra power to the rear 61 says it's dropping the rear because you're missing a prop these props were pretty beat up
[00:07:18] and there was no Jello and that was like 3:00 in the afternoon so I was actually pretty impressed by the performance of the of the WalkSnail video system I am actually switching
[00:07:29] this off of these beat up 30 52s onto GemFan 3x3 x3s to see how these are these are kind of like an old school prop but supposedly they're very well balanced so I'm going
[00:07:44] to give them a try and so that is a valid complaint that I have about the siren F3 frame is that they have shifted a lot of the weight rearwards it's because of the VTX right the the VTX is what's
[00:08:04] behind this Center set of standoffs I kind of w so to fix that right the the you take the motors and you shift them backwards the problem with doing that on a freestyle rig is the
[00:08:19] nose of the rig now sticks out like the Jin the the siren 2 and a half inch rig DJI has the the front pushed out a little bit so that there's no props in view it's like more of a cinematic than
[00:08:39] freestyle rig and the problem with that is with the nose hanging out when you go face first into stuff which you do when you fly freestyle it smashes the [@$#%] out of the camera and or the base plate
[00:08:50] end or the top plate with a split base plate frame that's not as big of a deal as with a solid base plate frame so on on one hand fine let it happen let it break the bottom plate and then to swap this
[00:09:06] bottom plate out it's just it's just this row of screw these two front screws this row this row bottom plate comes off slap the new one on away you go you don't have to take the stack apart if
[00:09:18] that happens which is great freestyle removable arm frames that just have a solid base plate front to rear when you break that base plate you've got a take the stack screws all out it's
[00:09:31] just way more work so I don't know it's a decision that you have to make when you're designing a frame and there's not a whole hell of a lot of ways around it what's interesting is
[00:09:49] the grind arino has kind of gotten around that but this is a this is such a different frame geometry the the front arms are way farther in front of the the camera so you get a whole bunch
[00:10:02] more proing view with the grino frame these are also 3 and 1 half in arms I only have 3in props on them but these arms are significantly longer than this guy right it makes it look well if we go
[00:10:13] nose to nose that's the best comparison point right so the bottom the bottom Motors are even look at the top Motors bottom Motors are now even and so grino more it's got a much wider stance
[00:10:27] right of course it does cuz it's set up for three and a half in props but this Frame is an example of how and so what I'm trying to say is that this Frame the the center of
[00:10:41] gravity is not as bad they've chosen a different arm geometry to fix that problem a bunch of that is down to the fact that this is a true X frame this is a squished XF frame right these these
[00:10:54] two Motors are closer together than these two Motors and so I would love to see this Frame take these rear arms and move them back a little bit's would make it a little bit more true X
[00:11:07] and it would even out the the center of gravity a little bit more it would be diff it's difficult to do that because you've got this Center set of standoffs here that are jacking into these arm
[00:11:20] pickup points and so it's tough to do that it's these are these are the really difficult decisions when you're doing a frame design The Grind arino it for goes those that second
[00:11:36] set of standoffs there's nothing back here you've got your front standoffs you've got a set of standoffs here and then that's it all the way to the back the siren has front set of standoffs
[00:11:48] second set of standoffs same thing but then it's got another set of standoffs here in the middle that really helps with the rigidity of the top plate when you crash inverted the back battery
[00:11:59] sends a whole bunch of energy up through that top plate so without this extra set of standoffs here you can if you crash hard enough you can smash this top plate and break this top plate down
[00:12:14] and then that smashes in your stack and possibly blows the stack up and so different design decisions on different frames but something I've definitely noticed now that I've
[00:12:25] flown this siren F3 a little bit more is that it is really tough with with with the length of the XT30 that I have hooked up to the ESC it's impossible for me to get the CG right so until I put a
[00:12:42] longer XT30 on or what I really wish that I had done is install the ESC the other way around with the the battery lead coming out the front up here because then this battery lead could go
[00:12:59] rearwards and it would it would just let me move this this battery a little bit farther forward but I mean there is going to be a point where we can't move the battery any farther forward because
[00:13:10] shit's going to get in view of the of the camera so we're we're kind of running out of space here for the time being I'm going to push and I'm going to show you where anti-gravity is
[00:13:24] because I didn't have a chance to increase it so we'll try to digitally fix the problem here the the there is going to be a cost to that which is that on throttle chops and throttle blips
[00:13:41] the pit Loop is going to be more active and it's going to really push hard with the rear Motors and that's just going to have a little bit of a different it's just
[00:13:52] going to have a little bit of an effect on on the way that it flies again have being able to get the center of gravity properly front to back you're going to have a quad that flies a little
[00:14:02] bit better because you don't have this digital thing boosting the pids on on throttle chops and throttle stabs so there's that Frank says reverse the battery
[00:14:18] the problem with doing that is the the XT30 wire gets really close to the to the rear propeller here you end up with like a whole bunch of like the wire gets all jacked up for these
[00:14:32] things to be properly durable when bashing the [@$#%] out of them basically and crashing through trees and whatnot you've got to get the the XT30 under the battery strap and and
[00:14:45] just the way that I have this it's just not going to happen and having the the leads in the back I'm going to have these wires getting like pushed out into the props and it's just going to be a
[00:14:53] hot mess so I I I just cut the XT30 a little bit too short Andor oriented the the the ESC incorrectly on on re I I used on 5in builds I put the ESC like this on the last couple of
[00:15:13] 3in builds I've put the ESC with the battery pads in the front because I had to but then it's kind of worked with the way that the the wire went and I could tuck the wire and I went back
[00:15:26] to doing it the other way on this one and I regret it I wish that i' kept the I wish that I'd put the ESC with the pads in the front and then I could have run the the the other thing that's nice
[00:15:37] about that is that it allows me to put the the balance lead and these wires in the rear where they're more protected having this up in the front here if I if I am traveling forwards and I hit
[00:15:51] something and it crashes inverted it's really hard on the on the battery wires and or the the balance lead and you can easily tear those all up and that's just super annoying here's where you increase
[00:16:04] anti-gravity the stock setting is really good if you're having this problem it definitely means that your CG is wrong or you've got like a motor or an ESC channel on its way out this is a
[00:16:18] pretty a pretty aggressive value right out of the box we're going to go all the way up to 12 when you get this anti-gravity number too high you start to have that situation that we get
[00:16:31] when we have the pids too high where you stab the throttle you chop the throttle the the motors wind up from your command but then they wind up again so you've got instead of like you get
[00:16:45] like and I hate that so I'm gonna I might have to go back and forth on this anti-gravity 12 might be too much maybe it's just the right amount we'll see I'll fly it again tomorrow and we'll
[00:16:59] see how it does other than that as you could see at the beginning of the live stream if f is pretty damn good I am starting to kind of realize though that these rigs are way too big for
[00:17:13] neighborhood flying at least in your own neighborhood they're big they're fast they're noisy and if I clip a branch and come down on like a neighbor's car it's liable to like
[00:17:28] break a windshield or dent a panel so bad that like you know5 6700 later of paintless dent repair plus potentially repainting a panel so that's kind of interesting that
[00:17:45] you know I I I kind of I really slowed down flying 3in rigs a couple of years ago and I didn't necessarily notice why I think this is why I I think they're just they're a
[00:18:01] little bit too too big and heavy and powerful and noisy to be railing right outside your front door unless you've got like a massive yard but then if you've got a massive
[00:18:13] yard you probably want to go to a 5-in rig but 5-in rigs are a whole other level of noise so if you've got a big yard but you still have neighbors I think that's where these things are
[00:18:26] are are really going to shine we are not in that scenario here our our front and backyard are not big enough and they're a little bit busy and our neighbors are a little bit too close for
[00:18:38] these things for these heavy 3-in Rigs and so that that's kind of interesting I I i' never really well I haven't really flown I haven't flown 3-in rigs a significant amount since
[00:18:57] moving into this house right it's been like really tiny whoop Central the whole time that I've lived here and flying tiny whoops out in front of this house is incredible like it makes
[00:19:11] the front and the back of this house seem gigantic and it's a whole world of dive gaps and little holes to fly through and all kinds of stuff and that's super
[00:19:25] cool and so I think that I'm finally really starting to kind of dial in on the best possible sized rigs for each different sort of location that you're going to fly at
[00:19:41] I do want to play around a little bit with lighter weight 3in rigs like I've got these rip squeaks with the let's weigh this actually I think this is like 260 gram the R squeaks are down at like
[00:20:00] 210 220 carrying the the RunCam hybrid I wonder if I could get a I wonder what digital video system I could get in there hd0 is 20 x 20 but man that thing is thick and
[00:20:20] expensive and the video quality doesn't really look all that great I love having WalkSnail in these because the video quality of WalkSnail is good enough to use like as HD
[00:20:30] video weighing it weighing it there was I was about to say there something I was about to do this is a Q&A live stream feel free to leave any questions you've got in the
[00:20:43] chat in 15ish minutes we're going to dive into cmy KF pv's Channel and check out his Mad Skills 270 gram so this thing is heavy for a 3 INRI it flies is just great though at this
[00:21:01] weight 270 with 3in props it's such a the the flight characteristics are just perfect it doesn't feel too heavy it doesn't feel too floaty it's kind of like right in the middle but
[00:21:19] again awful heavy to be blasting around your neighbors and so I'm going to I'm going to be thinking a little bit more about that and experimenting with that you never know I mean maybe we can
[00:21:38] I don't know I think this is just U I think this is the right sort of all up weight this is just the type of rig that needs a little bit more space it just it needs a little
[00:21:52] bit more room to breathe I'm curious if the the quad mola 2 and2 in rig the Jin I'm curious if that would bring the weight down enough maybe even like run it on 3s
[00:22:10] but I mean that's not going to really help with the weight I don't know I'm very very interested in that though because like if that thing can be built at 210 gram 220 gam all up
[00:22:27] with two and a half inch props that might be really good and then we start to talk about think about 2in setups I don't know I don't know of any 2in frames though I don't know of any
[00:22:47] like 2in Freestyle removable arm kind of frames so that's obviously going to be a limiting factor but we'll see we'll see without prop guards these things really Boogie and that that's kind of
[00:23:08] where this starts to feel too big for out in front of the house is it's just really really fast what's interesting though is I can definitely tell so I talked previously about these
[00:23:22] TOA 155s they're only 3800 KV you can really I really noticed today flying this that 3,800 KV is just not enough when you when you stab the throttle on this rig it accelerates really fast like it
[00:23:43] it changes speed hysterically quick but then it like kind of hits a wall it's like shifts into the second gear but then that's it's only has second gear with a higher KV motor it'll get into
[00:23:59] like third and fourth gear it'll like keep accelerating faster and faster and faster and so I I definitely did notice that about this rig that's one of the things that make the the t-motor
[00:24:12] 1404 so good even though it's a smaller Stater and it has less grunt less torque less power it's got that higher KV so it'll like hit higher speeds so it's interesting this thing
[00:24:27] you stab the thrott it accelerates really quickly but then it doesn't have a lot of top speed but it gets to its top speed like really quickly so if it was a drag race between this and a
[00:24:37] rig on the t-motor 1404 4600s this thing would jump out ahead but then the 144s would continue to wind up and pass it before like the quarter mile in a drag race example I've never really
[00:24:52] I've never really noticed that which is I'm kind of embarrassed to say that but that was super obvious with this rig so that's that's good that's me that's an important thing for
[00:25:03] me to kind of figure out and be able to feel for I can kind of feel that these TOA Motors that are discontinued and you can't even get them anywhere are a little too low of a KV so I would
[00:25:15] love I love this stator size though this 1505 stator size has a ton of Grunt and it really gives you that 5 in like Authority that like instantaneous just and when when when you when you're on
[00:25:29] the sticks or or when you Hammer the throttle it just takes off it's just these motors would be brilliant on 5S I don't know if this ESC would be able to take 5S though
[00:25:46] and I'm just not going down that road I'm not going to tell a whole bunch of people to go out and buy 5S batteries that's absolutely insane I'm going to keep especially because these motors are
[00:25:55] discontinued right I'm going to try to find a motor that's a higher KV a rig that's this heavy I think could get away with a 1404 4600 and I I might have an extra set of them but what I
[00:26:12] also have are these Pacer 164s and I think they're a higher KV nope they're 3,800 as well that sucks 1604 versus 1505 I don't know I'm really tempted to put these on just so that this rig has a
[00:26:34] motor that you guys can buy or I can just say to you guys this rig flies similar on these as it would 164s if you want to build something that performs like this get the t-motor 1604 3800s
[00:26:48] and if you really want it to jam there are 5S 550 MH batteries that would be perfect 1407 is a terrible motor siiz Winder seven wide I'm sorry 14 wide seven tall that's a 2: one ratio that is
[00:27:05] all wrong that is a ratio that's going to overheat and just be a pain in the ass it's going to hit your batteries really hard and it's just going to like run hot and when they run
[00:27:17] hot they they become inefficient and it's that's a bad motor size 155 1553 to one 22 07 7421 3:1 ratio 236 4:1 6 12 18 24 23 24 4 to one for freestyle rigs we always want Motors that are 3 to
[00:27:47] one or 4 to one or somewhere in between if you go to the point where it's like two to one it's just not a good motor size they they just they get too hot they can't shed the heat the width
[00:27:59] of the motor is going to help it stay cool because the air coming down off the props drives down through the motor Bell and keeps the motor cool if you've got a really narrow motor when
[00:28:11] you go Full Throttle it's going to make a whole bunch of power in like the first millisecond but then it's going to saturate with heat and it's going to make less and less power and as it makes
[00:28:21] less and less power it doesn't use less and less amps it turns all that electricity from the battery into heat and so the the motor gets doubly hot it gets it gets really hot cuz it's making
[00:28:31] a bunch of power but it also gets hot because it can't cool itself down and it's saturating with heat and the magnets don't work nearly as well when they get really hot so
[00:28:42] 1407 is is a rough motor size weirdly that would be a good motor size for like a long range rig because it's a lightweight motor that makes really good power and so for a long range rig you're
[00:28:56] cruising at as low throttle as you possibly can and so that's going to allow the motor to stay cool for a freestyle rig when you go Full Throttle it dumps juice into the motors and if
[00:29:08] you have a motor that's like two to one it's just going to overheat immediately it's this is actually one of the ways that DJI gets efficiency out of the Avada the Ava 2 and now the Neo they
[00:29:23] run Motors that are like 2 to one because in doing so the motor is lighter and as long as you don't push that motor harder it won't overheat and then they digitally limit their stuff or what
[00:29:38] they probably do is just run the KV so low that the motor can't make enough power to get too hot by the speaking of the Neo I yesterday I kind of completely forgot the fact that
[00:29:54] it's you can fly it with goggles in a in a transmitter I watched a review of somebody actually flying it as an FPV quad last night and it's really decent for 200 bucks it's it's
[00:30:09] really really decent I still don't necessarily know who it's for other than like Reckless missions like if it's records in 4k and it looks really good so if you're going to do something
[00:30:22] Reckless and potentially have a one-way cine whooop scenario it's only 200 bucks and the damn thing runs for like 10 plus minutes so send that [@$#%] out into Oblivion
[00:30:37] you're getting all the video coming back into the goggles and you're recording it on the on the goggles right but like what what the I'm confused by the here's what's confusing sure it's only 200
[00:30:50] bucks and so it's like oh I want to learn to fly FPV oh cool 200 bucks well now 500 plus for the goggles and another like hundred for the controller right that's a thousand it's
[00:31:04] almost $1,000 it's not like for those of us that I don't but for for those of you guys that already have the V3 goggles it's a little bit more interesting but still it flies like
[00:31:19] [@$#%] it's a cinematic rig but then it's a cheap cinematic rig that's what it is it's and it's not a proper cinematic rig like the avat 2 is a proper cine whoop
[00:31:34] it's super confusing man would it be cool but it's also very small and you can fly it from your [@$#%] phone so it's would be cool to have because it's super small
[00:31:51] you can like Dam near put it in your pocket so super small you get the little you get the little controller for the extra hundred bucks that links up to your phone and your phone is the
[00:32:01] viewfinder and so now you go on vacation with the damn thing and you've and it's doesn't have full capability on the phone but it's still like a little cine whoop and you can still get cool like
[00:32:11] mavic style stuff with it with the little screen if you have room to bring your goggles okay sure but then at that point you might as well bring like a proper rig right so it's it's
[00:32:25] interesting it's would be kind of cool to have for going on vacation I guess but then it's so [@$#%] loud like I I would I I'm I would feel like embarrassed putting it up in the air to
[00:32:39] some extent oh my God I will say this there there's an amazing feature on it where if you also have the the DJI microphone setup that connects to it and it's digitally removes the sound of
[00:32:54] the [@$#%] Neo so you you you can put it up in the air and if you have the DJI mic you can record really decent like those DJI mics are getting used by everybody on YouTube right now like the
[00:33:07] quality is really good and the and it you don't even hear the quad in the recordings which is I had no idea it did that that is really cool [@$#%] I'm super impressed by that I mean it
[00:33:20] makes sense it's got it knows what RPM it's at so it knows the specific pitch that it's making what it'll be interesting is when there's aftermarket props for it that
[00:33:31] change the pitch I bet you that feature won't work anymore or maybe it will maybe it's just a pretty standard it could just be a it could just be noise cancelling Tech like what are
[00:33:44] in airpods which nowadays Works incredibly well but I'm still admittedly confused about the Neo but after seeing somebody fly it around as a c whoop I was like that's pretty
[00:33:57] cool but I just I don't I don't get it's doesn't fly good enough that you're going to like want to fly it I don't think if you're just starting out awesome it's great for that but
[00:34:19] we aren't and if you're just starting out you're not going to have the the 500 and something dollar goggles and the 100 plus dollar controller so it's I don't know I don't
[00:34:31] know I'm still very confused by it but it's a pretty fancy piece of Kit's really is as always with with DJI it is fascinatingly well thought out and and
[00:34:51] designed I broke a plastic Buckle battery strap and ended up just saying to hell with it I put the quad mola really nice fancy soft cloth metal buckled battery strap on here that's one
[00:35:05] of it gained a little bit of weight from that I don't remember it being quite so heavy but that sort of makes sense so man that was some of my day what you guys do
[00:35:21] today let me get caught up on chat let me get caught up on Chad see what he's up to setting this thing up to fly a little bit more tomorrow I do want to put it back up in the air tomorrow with those
[00:35:34] different props and see what's what Co power says DJI Neo spec Racing League see that would be cool I feel like there's I feel like there's there are uses for it I feel like there are people
[00:35:47] that it'll be perfect for and I would love to bring one on a vacation with me it's so small like I'm trying to think of what it would have been like in on our little
[00:36:00] Tri-State tour if I had that thing with me I feel like there's a bunch of situations that I would have been able to just throw the damn thing up in the air and get some fun little bits of
[00:36:14] footage here and there and CU it's small I don't know it's interesting we'll see more and more people will get their hands on them and start using them in cool ways and then we'll get to
[00:36:28] see what it what makes sense the most for him if you want to talk to me in the chat all you got to do is type cfpv you can also do a super chat if you want to support the madness that is being a
[00:36:38] full-time FPV donkey the best way to support me though is to jump over here to se fpb.cc [@$#%] just close your eyes and just start clicking all the things patreon helps
[00:36:50] me out the most for sure if you've got an extra $3 a month that's 10 cents a day my friends you can help me keep doing this Etsy there's some fun stuff for you to buy a lot of new stuff on here ton
[00:37:02] of new stickers some Motors some really fun stuff and there's going to be more being added to Etsy really soon so check it out for sure Fiverr you can work one-on-one with me I am wide open
[00:37:13] right now in like scheduling wise for Fiverr so now's a great time if you want to get better at flying tuning building or all the above and if you want to do like a weekly or a
[00:37:27] bi-weekly session there is a little bit of a discount there so just message me and we'll get it set up Teespring I got some fun shirts like the one that I'm wearing right now and some
[00:37:38] other random apparel and then a whole bunch of affiliate links if you still use bookmarks make sure that your bookmarks are someone's affiliate links because there's just no reason to not
[00:37:48] use affiliate links the also or if if you don't use bookmarks and you type AMA for Amazon in here you can remove the suggestion so type AMA it's going to probably suggest amazon.com you
[00:38:02] can click to the right of that and remove the suggestion and then click my Amazon affiliate link a couple of times and your browser will think when you type AMA you actually want to go to
[00:38:12] this affiliate link and you can do that with all theseAmazon get FPV pyro drone race day quads newbie drone wee bed BetaFPV fpv cycle on my God brain 3D hd0 fly woi Max bang good
[00:38:22] camera R oh and AliExpress I fixed that one too there's some other fun stuff at the bottom here there you go that's how you support me so I can keep doing this I need your help help a
[00:38:32] brother out parkour guy in the chat says did my message on Discord with my confirmation email send so I can send you the stick ends also make sure you open the box for some goodies I I owe
[00:38:46] you that that label sorry parkour I'm very behind I was out in the goddamn backyard just getting the [@$#%] kicked out of me by the Rocks again today but it's done I I have
[00:39:00] moved $600 worth of River Rocks probably I don't know a couple of thousand pounds of River Rocks at the very least I have essentially picked them all up from like an area that's
[00:39:20] like 100 ft by 50 ft I've essentially lifted them all up in one way or another so that Maggie can put down weed mat in the entire area to correct the mistake that was originally made by
[00:39:39] not putting the weed mat down I I picked them up in various different ways moving them I'm not going to talk about it's such a sore subject parkour guy also says
[00:39:54] personally I love props and view on freestyle rigs bunch of people do I don't but bunch of people like props and view most notably Tommy Taha of my God Fame parkour guy
[00:40:14] also says do you like TR X or squished X from a flight characteristic size side TRX is also is always better there's no situation where squished X is better from from a flight character istics
[00:40:27] point of view the only thing that swis deck does better is pull the props out of view so the siren F3 versus The Grind arino there's absolutely no contest the the grind
[00:40:40] arino is going to do everything better in the air but it's got a bunch more props in view so that that is the trade-off but anybody that says that they like the way that squished
[00:40:51] teex flies better they're just fooling themselves like if if you really do like the way the squish deck setup flies better all you have to do in the pids tab is decrease the pitch pids that will
[00:41:06] accomplish the exact same thing and it'll actually make the pit Loop run better so it would be a better idea to have a true X rig and then [@$#%] the the the the pitch axis digitally
[00:41:20] there is no world where a squished X frame is going to do anything better in in the air like from it's just it's just not the the pitch axis has more weight on it so if anything we want
[00:41:35] stretched X so that there's more leverage on the pitch axis to deal with that extra weight that's on the pitch axis but stretched X puts the motors in view which is Silly so
[00:41:48] true X is always better but their frame designers do sometimes choose to go switch de to swiish de to pull the front Motors back a little bit to get the props out of you and and
[00:42:01] that's okay 661 says can you toilet tank that lipo you cannot the there are no holes in the frame for it also in my experience toilet tanking is a bad idea the batteries the the the
[00:42:13] battery sits on a thin piece of carbon fiber and then it's just flies out and or like if you hit sideways it's going to like side load and it breaks battery straps and it's just a nightmare
[00:42:25] the battery is also in a lot of cases really close to the tips of the propellers it's a great way to bend a the tip of the props up and then have it Nick the battery and then the battery
[00:42:34] catches on fire toilet tanking is not the way the the the other big problem with from a center of gravity standpoint is when you toilet tank the battery it's really difficult to push
[00:42:45] that battery to get that battery into a spot where the center of gravity is correct having the battery nose to tail you can typically get that CG correct especially on free on
[00:42:59] 5in freestyle rigs carrying a GoPro in the front that GoPro in the front's really heavy so you got to push that toilet tank battery all the way back to offset that weight it's and then it's
[00:43:09] like dead over the rear Motors it's just bad news a motor that a battery that's front to rear like this you can push it way back to offset that GoPro in the front and actually fix your CG so
[00:43:24] I I do not like toilet tank I've tried it a whole bunch of times and it's always been the the biggest problem is it breaks battery straps and the battery just ejects and when the battery
[00:43:35] ejects you lose your video and that's a good way to lose a rig practical says reverse the battery Direction leave it on the back instead of on the front we talked about that flying carrot
[00:43:46] says 4S or 6S for a grinder Rino 4S for sure thinking about swapping my WalkSnail 4S 5 in to a 3.5 the the long and short of it is that on a 5 in powertrain the amount of juice that
[00:43:59] that's going to pull from the battery and the amount of power that we make In 5in freestyle rigs 6s makes a lot of sense the efficiency that we gain from 6s really does help on a micro 3-in rig
[00:44:12] 3 and half inch rig the powertrain the motors don't draw enough current to Warrant 6s and so if you build it with success you don't really get much if any of a of an advantage but there is a
[00:44:27] disadvantage which is that it's a way higher voltage and higher voltage is just sketchier and it's harder on the electronics and whatnot so 6s doesn't make a whole lot of sense on 3
[00:44:38] in three and a half inch rigs other than it opens up a world of RPM like the like we were talking about earlier these TOA 1505 3800 KV Motors or the t-motor Pacer 1604 3800 KV Motors
[00:44:57] that's their 4S KV it's still too low if I was 5S or 6s it would be fine I would I would have to on 6s I would have to motor limit them down but that's fine so that's kind of the annoying thing is
[00:45:12] that all of the motor manufacturers are making these motors too low of a KV and 5S or 6s fixes that problem the correct fix though is for the motor manufacturers to listen to
[00:45:26] those of us that are actually building these things and flying them hard and make the motors in a higher KV because 4S 850mah batteries are amazing on these 3-in rigs and they
[00:45:42] you know your ESC is going to last a long time they're plenty efficient if if you fly conservatively you can get six seven eight minutes on the damn things if you fly hard you'll still get
[00:45:53] like three minutes so that's a little frustrating but it's kind of always been the this has been a complaint for the last four or five years that the motors that make sense
[00:46:10] for three in rigs are just not quite a high enough KV Denzel the terrible says could you use the frame backwards put the camera in the back VTX in the front anyone ever try that Madness would not
[00:46:20] work for this a split base plate frame that's going to that I just won't work this particular frame too the rear end is is Big because it has to fit a 25x 25 VTX in it that would not fit in the front
[00:46:37] interesting idea though parkour guy says do you recommend switching my Mobula 7 1S to a 2S build or build an 885mm 2S for backyard and jungle gym ripping want to maybe stay ducted to not
[00:46:51] replace as many Motors is there a frame recommendation I haven't really Dove down the 85 5 mm Rabbit Hole quite yet it used to be that the frames were way too fragile but there is an
[00:47:03] hglrc frame that's apparently strong enough it's also very heavy I I just I won't know at some point I'll go down that rabbit hole but the the
[00:47:18] 2s 75mm rig here this this is nuts and it's nice and Light and so I think this is it I think this is the the the one that you want I gotta I got to spend some more time
[00:47:36] with it I got to do a little bit more motor testing these 083s I had really high hopes for and I'm I don't think I like them but I need to spend four or five hours with this thing swapping
[00:47:48] frames swapping Motors to figure it out but when I had this thing on the t-motor 1102 19 or 18000s whatever they are it was just awesome I only flew like a half a dozen batteries on it before
[00:48:04] the the flight controller broke but man it was so good on those Motors so that's at the moment I'm super impressed by that and for like a front yard backyard jungle gym kind of setup
[00:48:15] that may very well be it that was such a good setup so that's kind of where I'm at at the moment I was very impressed by that but I got a bunch of other motorc test and also I I I also
[00:48:28] tested this on HappyModel 802 19000s and it was really good on those too it was very light on those Motors they didn't have quite enough power the 11 the 102s had significantly more power
[00:48:45] than them these 803s are somewhere in between I also got to do some do some weighing I got to like weigh it with these motors weigh it with the 102s but more fun with this coming
[00:48:59] very soon I promise I promise I plop Miss so I got that going for me which is nice James Thomas says so if the nano3 is no more what do you recommend now I have two but we'll kill them in
[00:49:23] short order man I don't know the tiny whoop pinch cam is is a lot of people the Newbie drone bi that that's a great camera too I think it's going to come down to like mounts I
[00:49:37] I I don't think you should look at cameras I think you should look at mounts and once you find a mount that you mount will have a camera for it so maybe try that
[00:49:51] there aren't really many if any cameras that fit in the old school Mobula 6 C technically the the new fxt camera that comes in the mobul 6 2024 does you're going to have to remove some
[00:50:04] material from the front of the canopy but like that's easy you just sit there with a file knock it out so if you can if you can get your hands on that new fxt camera it's really good
[00:50:15] it's significantly heavier than the RunCam nano3 but it's the same weight as all the other cameras right now the the the Nano 3 was like it one of the best things
[00:50:25] about it arguably the best thing about it is how lightweight it is so James Thomas says also any update thoughts on the hdlc haven't touched it yet it's over here in a build bag
[00:50:35] I need to find time for that as well parkour guy says could the DJI Neo use the goggles 3 and the controller 3 I think so I know it's uses the goggles 3 it has to use the goggles 3 I I'm not
[00:50:48] sure on the controller but for an extra hundred bucks you get a controller with it I think it does work with the controller 3 don't quote me on that could it be a good shop flythrough rig
[00:50:59] no cuz it's not it's not good enough quality small size might be might be good for my gig work Arsenal see that's the problem is that it's the the the camera quality
[00:51:13] is just not good it's got a tiny little sensor on the camera and so it's great for like screwing around and for like social media and like for a cheap fly through sure but for like
[00:51:26] legitimate actual work it's the IAT 2 like there the the Neo is not for that and that's and that's one of the things that confuse me the most like I wish that they'd made it $400 and put a
[00:51:41] better camera on it at 200 bucks it's I don't know I don't know the camera doesn't look bad for for for it's very impressive for a $200 drone let's just get that out of the way it's super
[00:51:58] impressive the the image quality is better than you would expect for a whole thing that's $200 right like an entire build that's 200 bucks the the camera quality is awesome
[00:52:12] but in my opinion not good enough for Gig work but like if if you find a way to get like gigs for like 200 bucks 300 bucks sure that that is that is a lower price like show up do a quick
[00:52:29] fly through just dump the footage on on them it's for social media awesome head to the next one that totally valid for that it's smaller it's lighter it's outrageously loud which is going to be
[00:52:43] an issue right like the the spot that you're flying through can't have like customers in it they're going to lose their minds right so could be for that could be
[00:52:55] for like lower I don't know it's interesting it's interesting camera quality doesn't look bad it just doesn't look great when you see the the flight footage next to the avat 2 flight footage it's just like
[00:53:13] oh there's a huge difference there but it's tough for me to think of it as a professional rig in any way shape or form I I think it's more of a toy than anything else really cool toy
[00:53:28] though Josh f look for if if you have goggles 3 and the controller and you have a child that has any interest in FPV even if they don't have interest in FPV oh it's perfect oh it's perfect 200
[00:53:46] bucks here you go here's the Majesty of fpvborrow my goggles borrow my transmitter you're not going to break the goggles of the transmitter right don't throw them on the ground job done
[00:53:56] like so for those of us in the FPV world for our immediate family in our houses or for our spouses right if we want to give them the Majesty of flight isn't that a cool kind of thing make sure
[00:54:10] it's not the only thing you get them for Christmas they will leave you but for two 200 bucks is crazy crazy lster says when I use your Amazon link all is in Chinese
[00:54:25] why what shouldn't be no it drives to amazon.com you must have something set wrong in in your browser I'm going to guess it's here your region to the right of your search
[00:54:43] field but I've never heard that before and it's just a DOT link oh my God the the Gemini stuff is out look at this too it's only 45 bucks for the for the module look at this
[00:55:00] big dumb receiver though this sucks I'm going to maybe get one of these receivers but that's it I'm going to be waiting for them to come out with a smaller receiver that's hopefully just
[00:55:12] one antenna for 2.4 and one antenna for 900 this is this is a bit ridiculous having a 20 X20 receiver that's a bit much but I'm really tempted to just pick up the the module now before
[00:55:29] it inevitably sells out especially because it's only 45 bucks and because I know this is the direction that I'm going I hope I have to assume they would build this in there but I hope that this will
[00:55:43] work with regular elrs does anybody know the answer to that like can I leave this in my module Bay and fire up a tiny whoop and it'll just connect via 2.4 right or does it will it only
[00:55:58] interface with the dualband receivers if it will only interface with the Dual Band receivers that's super annoying and feels like a missed opportunity I'm sure it's
[00:56:09] because there's something weird going on with the tech but boy would it be nice to just put this into the module Bay and leave it forever and be able to fly tiny whoops single antenna stuff
[00:56:22] dual antenna stuff right anybody know the answer to that Josh s says considering getting the tiny whoop 802 33,000 KV epoa Motors but wondering if a 2g4 would be able to
[00:56:38] handle them would an X12 be a better idea yes the X12 would be a better idea the 2g4 can handle them it also depends if you're going to run them on a 65mm rig or a 75mm rig on a 65mm
[00:56:55] rig you'll be total totally fine 2g4 will be completely fine that's what that's this setup here this is my little meatball setup oh my God speaking of this meatball setup I call it the
[00:57:07] meatball setup CU it's heavy it's a 65mm rig with 802s these are a heavier version of those Motors this is me taking the heavier Bell with the 1 and a half mm motor shaft off of a set
[00:57:22] of igal motors and putting them onto those 33,000 sters so this rig is obnoxiously heavy if if this just had the regular epia Motors it would be a little bit lighter I don't think it's
[00:57:36] that bad though isn't it like isn't it still I think it's still under 20 grams I have this terrible little antenna on it which really helps super lightweight no it's not it's 20.4 grams it's so
[00:57:48] fat God it's so [@$#%] fat oh you are such a fat little 65mm rig good Lord you little meatball bastard but speaking of look at this look at this look what wee
[00:58:13] bed has for us look at that [@$#%]we were just talking about this like a week or two ago look at that look at that big old 1.5 mm hole in this 1210 there it
[00:58:37] is I'm waiting on zotech to get back to me to let me know if he has any of the BetaFPV 5 in ones on the way I would love to get a bunch of sets of these and a and one of those five in
[00:58:47] ones so that's super interesting because right now this meatball build this is the only propeller available for it and this is the GemFan 128 which is a little bit
[00:59:01] of like an old school propeller speaking of 128s and old school propellers and just like in general good stuff Philip aino has been doing some awesome stuff over on Facebook this is
[00:59:18] this is taking a look at response time on a set of moon traveler Motors so 110 I'm sorry so 07 2 32,000 KV Motors on 1S and this is the ramp up of each different propeller this is cool
[00:59:36] because we get to see the amount of thrust that each different propeller makes but what's interesting is that all of the all of the really good propellers are right here in the the second lowest
[00:59:48] grouping all the way up on top here we've got the GemFan 1610 so we don't care you're never going to run that prop on a 702 the the response time is is not good enough and we also have the old
[01:00:02] school GemFan 1219 and so for response time what you're looking for is for this thing to flatten out right so zero full throttle and then the motors ramp and what you're looking for is when the
[01:00:18] dots start to flatten out so if we look at the Top If we look at the top two lines the the red one the red one is the old school GemFan triblade 1219 heavy prop the maroon
[01:00:33] is the GemFan 1610 byblade for a 75mm rig but again this is on an 0702 so you would never really run that small of a motor but you can see right so they're still increasing they're still
[01:00:45] accelerating still accelerating still accelerating they're not actually plateauing the maroon one is starting to Plateau here and the red one is starting to Plateau pretty much at the same time
[01:00:59] they're both starting to Plateau right here right so then we trace this line straight down to see what the timing is right the amount of time that's passed so we go straight down straight down
[01:01:09] straight down straight down straight down straight down straight down and we see it's right here which is a little bit beyond 0.15 of a second that's too slow in my opinion that that that's a
[01:01:19] propeller that's too heavy for the motor that's a bit of a lazy response time that's not going to give the the pit Loop that like really nasty Authority and it's not going to give you that
[01:01:31] really super connected feel right and so as these propellers get less thrusty and lighter weight you're going to see them Plateau earlier and that's really what we want so this pink one is the is where
[01:01:45] the money is in my opinion right so we go off to the right here and we take a look the pink one is the GemFan 129s this is the new lightweight GemFan triblade that like I'm
[01:01:57] loving and so when we look at this pink one the pink motor ramp up here it comes boom boom and we're starting to see it Plateau all the way back here look at that difference we're all the
[01:02:12] way up here now we're all the way back here when we're seeing at Plateau that's what good response time looks like right and so we Trace that down we were like16 of a second before right look at that
[01:02:24] we're all the way down to like Point sorry we're all the way here just barely over 0.1 of a second like 0.11 of a second so 0.11 of a second versus 0.16 of a second that's a huge difference I
[01:02:38] think this might have even be like been like 0.17 of a second that's a huge difference in response time and that's that's really what you want so the this is a super valuable little
[01:02:50] chart here and I really really dig this because it shows you the Raw amount of thrust that the propeller can make which is really important right all the way down the bottom here we have a
[01:03:01] couple props that we want to stay away from I think because they don't make enough thrust unless we put them on a really high KV motor but like so down here we've got light blue and dark blue
[01:03:11] the light blue is the Newbie Dron Venom prop so that's just not making a lot of thrust it's got great response time but it's just not making enough thrust and then this is a new Ultra
[01:03:23] lightweight prop that HQ is making apparently it's even less pitchy than the the YOLO the the HQ 31 by3 ultralight props and so we look at those two right dark blue and light blue
[01:03:37] these this is a really lightweight triblade and a byblade and we can see they're they're plateauing back here very similarly to where the 129s is plateauing right so they've got pretty
[01:03:52] much the same response time a little bit better the dark the new HQ prop is really light and so it's maybe got a little bit better response time here not much though the the the pink is
[01:04:04] doing really well the 129s does really really well and so it just I just don't think it makes quite enough thrust here this green to give you an idea the green the lime green is the gem
[01:04:18] fan 1210 and what's really interesting is it's kind of lazy it's not plateauing into until all the way over here which is like .17 of a second I'm really
[01:04:31] surprised by that but it is it is a little bit of a heavier prop the the the HQ YOLO and the geman 129s they are significantly lighter than the than the 1210 byblade but and
[01:04:45] look they make the same amount of power which is kind of nuts too so I'm re I'm so impressed by the the GemFan 129s this really steep ramp is like crazy response time and then it's making the
[01:05:00] same amount of power as a bunch of these other props these guys here the the lime yellow and the orange are the HQ 35 mm by3 which is a heavier prop and then the azy which is just a little bit
[01:05:16] too fragile as we've talked about the AIS always perform really well but they're so fragile and you can kind of see like the azy prop starts to plateau here so not nearly as good as the gem
[01:05:28] fan 129s over here and then the yellow prop is kind of all over the place but it's kind of plateauing like somewhere here which again not as good as the the
[01:05:39] 129s so the long and short of this excellent plot is the GemFan 129s which is also more durable than the HQ ultral light and so the the 1210 byblade flies like a byblade so like
[01:06:05] when you're off throttle that thing is just going to sail through the air and that's really cool that's a flight characteristics thing about that propeller you fly the
[01:06:15] 1210 because you want that you want your tiny whoop to just carry when you're off throttle for everything else I think it's the geman 129s I think that's the
[01:06:30] one right super interesting stuff though very very cool very very cool stuff thank you Philip aino for putting the time in to do this and he's doing more stuff so hey tested a bunch of 72s that
[01:06:46] are lower KV and I think he's still working on making the plots for him so that'll be be kind of interesting I guess I kind of don't care 702 32,000 KV makes the right amount of
[01:07:03] power I really dig the amount of power they make they arguably they make a little bit too much power and then you just motor limit them down and that's awesome so really really cool
[01:07:18] stuff parkour guy says could I motor limit the igal 27,000 for 2S you can but boy is that going to be a hell of a motor limit you absolutely can you want to try to not motor limit
[01:07:35] lower than like 70% I think you're going to be down at like 60% to get them under control but I don't know Frank Nicholas confirming that the D DJI Neo does work with the controller 3 and
[01:07:49] goggles 3 thank you dude 661 FP says you can use that with any elrs receiver 2.4 or 900 God is that awesome parkour guy says what's the Gemini module you can run 900 and 2.4 on the same controller
[01:08:10] would you need to have a 900 external module as well as 2.4 that's spill 10 Gemini is dual band you get the Gemini dualband receiver and you've got all of the pluses of 900 all of the pluses of
[01:08:24] 2.4 done also it'll work with individual 2.4 stuff it sounds like so you'll be able to run your tiny whoops on it without popping the module in and out and so there will be a live
[01:08:39] stream where I try to figure out how to get every single thing that I own on elrs to work with that Gemini module I assume that's just basically going to be updating everything thing I have the
[01:08:56] little radio Master dongle thing to update to direct solder to the receivers to direct update them the tiny whoops will potentially be more challenging there might be a tiny
[01:09:10] whoop here or there that there's not firmware available on BetaFlight that will bring it up to 3.4 which might be what that Gemini module needs hopefully the Gemini module just needs
[01:09:24] El s 3.0 or newer because I think at this point everything elrs aios receivers all of them I think maybe don't quote me on this but there is a way to get everything elrs up to
[01:09:40] 3.0 that would be insane to be able to put that Gemini module in here and leave it forever although I also I also think that I'm going to wait for a different receiver I
[01:09:54] don't necessar so I have all these rigs with Crossfire on them right and I want to get them off Crossfire I don't necessarily want to put a 20x20 I don't want to put this
[01:10:05] receiver into every single rig I own I would rather have a smaller receiver that's just one 2.4 antenna and one 900 antenna also this is a $30 receiver that's a bit much I'd be spending like
[01:10:19] $300 on receivers at at this rate that's a bit crazy but we'll see we'll see man I I I have a feeling that they will that they will come out with smaller micro
[01:10:34] receivers for it but good news man Gemini could like just what's your receiver module dual band elrs done top to bottom everything that would be amazing that's where I think we're going
[01:10:50] Josh says sorry I should have mentioned 75 mimer okay you're putting those 802 33000 on a 75mm rig X12 is definitely going to be a better idea 2g4 can still technically handle them but it's going
[01:11:13] to be at its absolute bitter limit so if you want to try them out and you have a 2g4 right now cool put them on there if it doesn't have enough power for you switching that over to an X12 or
[01:11:26] potentially this HD lrc Spectre a an AIO that has higher than five amp fets is going to get you more power but it will run on a 2g4 it's just going to it's going
[01:11:40] to really push it to its limit you youu jellen what's up dude he says it does dual and single awesome Johnny then says you can do Gemini crossband single or standard in both bands very bands very
[01:11:54] cool Denzel the terrible says I think you can just take one take off one of each antenna just not run diversity no I I want it to be smaller I I don't want this big 20 X20 brick of a receiver
[01:12:13] and it's a little expensive I I want a cheaper receiver parkour guy says what props do you run on your 75mm jungle gym Basher with the ow the only props available with 1 and a half MIM motor shaft
[01:12:27] that are any good are the GemFan 1610s it is the only option for those IGA Motors luckily it's a great propeller demo FPV says is there any reason to get the freestyle version of a tiny whoop
[01:12:38] versus racing version we want the KY KV correct yep absolutely James Thomas says so the sub 2501 19,000 aren't all that in a bag of chips unfortunately not it doesn't seem like it
[01:12:51] I do want to back tobacum with the the t-motor 102s and some of the other Motors so don't quote me on that quite yet but I'm not super blown away I I thought I thought they
[01:13:06] would be God's motor but it's not looking like it we'll see though we'll see though time will tell right now if you're building a 2S 75mm WalkSnail rig or just a 2s
[01:13:20] 75mm rig in general t-motor 102 18 or 19,000 whatever they are they're the blue ones they rip I was really impressed by them Porky chop FPV says have you seen the cadx infrared camera
[01:13:34] from the looks of it I think it's analog looks like a good setup for winter flying Joshua did a review that was super interesting the problem with it's really is the latency and it
[01:13:46] really struggles in the daytime so I don't think it's I feel it's kind of like a specialty camera that like I don't know that's a that's an awful expensive like specialty rig that you only fly
[01:14:00] pretty much in the dark but could be cool Brandon B Bean says make sure to get familiar with Express ls. org and the sections about updating receivers manual is very good I can link you
[01:14:12] I'm good I have a weirdly no I just search for I just start typing Express lrs and it comes up I've been on their website it is really well done Kevin says one point of claric
[01:14:25] Gemini X is dual band Gemini no X is single band oh no [@$#%] I didn't know there were two different things good call 661 says a receiver with only 1 2.4 and 1 1900 is just not how
[01:14:41] gemini or Gemini X Works Gemini is transmitting on two frequencies at the same time in the same band oh interesting that sucks huh well we'll see
[01:15:05] damn hopefully there's a way around that because putting four antennas on a freestyle rig is going to be super annoying so hopefully there's a way around that maybe like these dual
[01:15:19] band antennas I don't know I'm sure that there will be a solution before we know it lster says why shouldn't I run Dynamic Idol on a tiny whoop because apparently it blows the
[01:15:33] aiio up I thought Dynamic idle is an upgrade for flight performance or do I understand it wrong nope Dynamic Idol is fantastic for flight performance but there's something about 1S and dynamic
[01:15:43] idle that don't dve and apparently it's super hard on the ESC so Denzel the terrible says don't put Gemini on your freestyle you're right that's right it's it'll work with regular 2.4 right
[01:15:55] ex of course of course the the the dualband [@$#%] is for working rigs for cinematic Rigs and then I can just put regular old 2.4 elrs into freestyle Rigs of course awesome good call
[01:16:11] Jesus all right friends Mad Skills Monday computer can you stop [@$#%] your pants please appreciate it m whenever you're ready I'm just I'm just along for the ride
[01:16:36] computer there it goes just mooved a couple things around real quick there it be cmy K FPV here comes a link in chat to the man's Channel you can just
[01:16:50] search you can just search YouTube for CMYK FPV you'll find it what the hell is going on why can't I why does what is happening why does paste not work what is what is what keystrokes are
[01:17:15] not none of keystrokes don't work what the hell I've never experienced that before that's the strangest thing ever no keystrokes are working what the [@$#%] whatever okay that's a new one
[01:17:37] cmy KB has been killing it lately and I thought it only fair to dive into his channel and take a look do you have some shorts I have no interest in shorts just one perfect shorts are
[01:17:50] bad don't do it friends hit up CK's Channel get your ass subscribed and get you some chocy analog goodness I think this is are you all analog CMYK was there hd0 somewhere in here I
[01:18:05] don't think so I think I think my guy is 100% analog even on a 5 in rig that's how that you're committed to analog is when you're running it you're even running it on a
[01:18:22] 5in rig this is Java clowning or Java clowning what's he flying here I think this is the 5- in rig 5- in rig with no HD cam so just analog on a 5-in rig what's this thing way CMYK this is
[01:18:43] probably sub it's definitely sub 500 grams it's probably actually right around 500 grams what tell us more about this 5in rig cmk it moves it's so funny it moves around
[01:19:01] like a [@$#%] tiny whoop or something like this is such an it's so rare that folks fly 5-in rigs that are quite this what a nice little Bonk that was I'll bet you that was not on purpose but
[01:19:15] that's okay very rare amount of float but Ju Just five intrigues are typically not this light so this is a super interesting super different flight characteristic from this thing
[01:19:36] you've got like all of this Authority and response time from a properly set up 5in rig I'm going to assume these are like 236s or 227s but then no HD camera so way lighter
[01:19:53] and so you've got like this incredible Hang Time almost like a toothpick but then you've got all the authority of like a 5-in rig and when he stabs the throttle it's going to
[01:20:06] accelerate like absolute hell really really really interesting to see an analog only super lightweight 5-in rig being flown really aggressively freestyle here's a
[01:20:18] Shelby Vol freestyle X entry very very cool spot I want to say this is a tiny whoop oh actually it's not in the let's see if we can figure it out it's not in the description so what voltage we oh
[01:20:35] I'm seeing amps going all the way up to 30 this is not oh 13.8 volts so this is maybe a 3in rig 14 volts when it's sagged out that's 4S right oh it says right up here 4S so
[01:20:48] this is a 4S rig this is probably a rip squeak 5 inch 4S what wow the dry weight is 345 345 grams very cool so that was the 5-in rig as well there that's actually super interesting
[01:21:09] 4S is probably perfect on a 5-inch rig that's not dragging around a an HD cam that's super cool this one is Maric Bando what do you flying here 5 inch rig yep same deal
[01:21:25] smash the motor and cook the VTX awesome day of flying and meeting new people 5 in budget beater HD zero DVR what's so we've got a RunCam which which RunCam is this this
[01:21:39] footage looks really good what's the VTX too oh God I hate crashing in the high in the high grass it's such a kick in the face look at this guy just shredding so
[01:21:51] with a with a rig like this with these big old 5in props and then a really low all up weight you're going to also get that accuracy that you get from a from a toothpick
[01:22:02] which is very very very cool it's almost it's almost going to give you like a giant ducted flight style cuz it's not going to slide around as much because it's got those
[01:22:15] big old propellers it's got four big old propellers but it doesn't have a ton of all up weight it's still going to slide a lot more than like a like an actual ducted rig but you're going to
[01:22:26] get I've heard toothpicks described as they they fly like a scalpel like they're just super accurate they just drive straight and this is going to be like the 5- in version of
[01:22:38] that in a way which is kind of cool and you see that it's got like there's a perfect example of it right there so big old Power Loop bunch of rearward momentum but look it just kind of stops
[01:22:51] like it if with a with an HD camera right so this next one ready in here that with an HD camera it would have carried a lot more rearwards but because it's so light it doesn't have
[01:23:04] the mass to push through the air so it just kind of stops here and what's cool is like cmk is kind of using that he's using that to stay in proximity to these towers if you fly a rig like
[01:23:16] this if you put a bunch of batteries into it you'll get used to that like you'll get used to the fact that it doesn't have that throw and you'll just fly it differently and that's you
[01:23:24] know that's one of the really cool things about the flavor of like custom building Rigs and so this is this is super super cool CMYK has gotten really good at flying he's been flying a
[01:23:38] lot over the last like year or two a lot of tiny whooop batteries and it really really really shows he's shredding now that was Maric Bando we've got some raw analog action we're going to
[01:23:53] keep going until we start to hit some tiny whoop stuff there's a weird like half frame rate thing going on here is this the 5 in rig again no here we go here we go all right cool so now
[01:24:08] we're into now we're into rip squeaks so now we're into 3in props 1504 Motors 3950 KV BQE o rip squeak frame Dow 3028 Tri blades RunCam racer 5 Speedy be oh cool speedy stack 4S 850 so
[01:24:27] this is like a 230 all up G 4S 3in rig and so this is a smaller spot this is like this is probably the perfect rig for this spot this is kind of tying back to what I was talking about earlier with
[01:24:47] the quad Mulla iron this is like bigger than out in front of your house in a neighborhood but this is not like a football field where a 5- in rig with a with an
[01:25:01] action cam is going to kind of own and admittedly though a 5- in rig with an action cam will slay this [@$#%] spot so th this is like this kind of a spot is super
[01:25:18] interesting and I really dig it because you can get you can run a 5 in RI a heavy 5-in rig here and it gets the job done because 5 in rigs are magic or you can run like a 220 230 gram [@$#%] I
[01:25:33] mean even like a 250 260 gram 3in rig up into like 3 and a half inch rigs they'll fly really good here as well if you want to fly a spot like this and not get kicked out a 5-in rig is not how you do
[01:25:46] it the the biggest rig that you would fly at a spot like this if there's a chance getting kicked out is this or like the quad mola or something you're going to have a much better
[01:25:57] chance of flying a whole bunch of batteries in a location like this with a 4S 3in 3 and a half inch kind of rig very very cool stuff super cool to see a bunch of different rigs getting
[01:26:14] flown in these different spots cmk is also I think figuring out the right spot for each different the right rig for each different spot which is pretty cool pretty cool to see
[01:26:28] that OG rip squeak again what 154s you have these must be The Zing 154s 3900 KV these are The Zing discontinued black 1504 3900s great motor great motor I wish there were a
[01:26:43] little bit higher KV just like the TOA 1 155s the what what prop you're running that d 3028 prop you should try a you should try a more pitchy prop the the GemFan
[01:27:01] 3052 it's not that much it's not actually 52 pitch hold on let me I've been meaning to look this up GemFan 3052 what's the actual pitch it says it on the in the
[01:27:18] specs pitch is 3.5 so we should really start calling the GemFan 3052 3035 3035 I wish we had like a 304 I wish we had like a 40 pitch that's why the t-motor 314s are so good cuz that 40
[01:27:38] pitch is it really helps with the the slightly lower KV Motors but the bigger can Motors that have that grunt for them now we're going to start to get into tiny whoop stuff from CMYK
[01:27:51] which is awesome and it's some of my favorite stuff of his to watch this is the 5in rig ultr light 5in rig at a really cool spot I forget what the name of this event was but
[01:28:06] this is a I'm very jealous of this spot so again this is a big spot really good choice to fly the 5- in rig here th this this is a great rig for this bigger spot big ass tall
[01:28:21] scaffolding thing going on here the three inrig would also slay this spot this would be a great spot for the for the rip squeak as well or like my quad mola or grinder Rino stuff
[01:28:35] like that great spot for this again also this is a spot that a 5 in a big heavy 5-in rig with a an action cam would just hammer and would absolutely work really really well
[01:28:50] here 11:30 we got to do this giveaway as well this is not a tiny whoop we're gonna keep going here we go Saturday Spot this is this is prime cmk slaying right here this is an Ultimate Freestyle tiny
[01:29:05] whoop with 32,500 KV Motors 702 32 325s this is rad this is super super Super Rad this is a small like nothing spot right this is just like an apartment complex it looks like not like
[01:29:23] a big fancy impressive spot with scaffoldings just like a building with some railings and with an Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoop this becomes a [@$#%] playground this is the magic of the
[01:29:39] higher powered 65 mil rigs this is a spot that's so tight that like the rip squeak would be a mess here you would not be able to do a lot of this stuff in close on these railings and whatnot it
[01:29:52] would feel way too big for this but a tiny whoop is just like it a tiny whoop makes this spot feel huge and you can do all this crazy [@$#%] that like with a 3-in rig you wouldn't be able to
[01:30:05] link this stuff together like you'd be able to do that but then you would crash up here because it would be so overpowered and so heavy it would carry its momentum but with a tiny whoop it's
[01:30:16] just so crisp and there's so little momentum that you can get away with starting to link this stuff together and it's just amazing I mean this is also just like cmk ripping this is probably
[01:30:27] him like 5 600 batteries in to this rig this is the the most recent 65mm tiny whoop edit that's up so and I know he was flying a load of batteries on them and this is just like Peak cmk
[01:30:45] right here this is this is it man this this is the magic of the Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoop as far as I'm concerned just turning a small like seemingly nothing spot
[01:30:58] into like a top 10 spot ever what I mean like like what what kind of a location are you going to find where you can safely fly a 5-in rig that's got this many dive gaps this
[01:31:11] many like things that you can link together like this and if you were to find a spot for a 5-in rig you are going to break so many propellers you going to break so many Motors you're
[01:31:22] going to break so many arms whereas I can guarantee you that CMYK did all of that with probably out even B without even bending a propeller it's just it's just absolute magic that right
[01:31:35] there is just like 10 out of [@$#%] 10 10 out of 10 butt grinder contest I'm assuming this is one of this is one of bots contests I'm hoping that I don't that I've got the the music down low
[01:31:54] enough that you can hear it a little bit but also I'm not going to get copyright dinged tyrants Pro roer 6 months ago episode three this this would be last year's Tyrant Pro Whooper I'm
[01:32:06] assuming the the the Tyrant stuff and I know CMYK also did IGA and I know he got a lot of batteries in from both Tyrant and IGA and you can see it this is this is still really well
[01:32:23] flown from 6 months ago but compared to what we just watched there's a this is it almost looks like a different pilot what I mean not as not a bad thing that's a good thing although this
[01:32:33] Saturday Spot was also six months ago but you can you can definitely tell a difference between those two I bet you this I bet you this Saturday Spot flight footage was like flown and then edited
[01:32:45] right away I bet you this Tyrant Pro Whooper footage was was maybe flown another month or two before that really really cool to see a pilot progress like this occlusion trippies
[01:32:57] here's another one with this is a 4S rig I'm going to guess this no wait hold on oh 4S 15.4 volts is is the battery that's hooked up to the goggles 13 amps this is maybe a 75mm rig looks
[01:33:17] like a 75mm rig to me it's just a little bit less crisp and down in the in the he's got two builds in here 65 mil build that we were just watching and a 75 build 802 27000 the IGA Motors gem
[01:33:35] fan 1610s this is a jungle gem Basher right here so there we go it says it at the bottom of the screen Valentino versus 75 so that's how we know when we're going back and
[01:33:46] forth this is another hot [@$#%] edit from CMYK and again is this the same spot I think this is the same spot this is that same spot great great great great great great great little spot that
[01:34:03] I I it seems to just be a little apartment complex that just happens to have this cool little Courtyard area that flows really well together and with a tiny whoop you don't
[01:34:13] have to worry about somebody coming out of their front door and getting hit in the face with a 3-in rig right here's the 75 mil all right so Valentino must be the the 65 mil rig so here's
[01:34:24] your jungle gym Basher I wonder what occlusion is I'm going to guess this is a 65mm rig C says just learn trippies in this video there you goCMYK FPV super talented pilot that if you watch and
[01:34:47] if if you keep going back you'll you'll really see the the progression happen right around like between 6 months ago and a year ago you'll just see his his skills
[01:34:59] explode and in talking to them a good amount it's from a lot of tiny whoop batteries because when you fly tiny whoops you don't change many props you just pound batteries you just get stick
[01:35:11] time stick time stick time stick time and it's not veloc drone stick time it is real life actual physics stick time speaking of veloc drone after the stream yesterday after Sim Sunday
[01:35:24] yesterday I downloaded that other Sim god damn it what's that other SIM called that we were talking about UNC crashed I don't like it at all I'm gonna spend some time trying to dial the
[01:35:41] settings in but out of the box the physics feel bad compared to veloc drone the the graphics are good and there's a lot there's a lot of really good things about it but the physics are
[01:35:55] not one of them the physics feel kind of nasty and I think I can make it a little bit better but there's a reason that veloc drone is still like kind of the one of the main simulators
[01:36:11] and it's because the physics are really good they always have been and it's really hard to set the physics up for FPV quads and veloc drone spent awful lot of time doing
[01:36:28] it but we'll see I'm going to I'm going to spend some time dialing them in I'm sure I can make it a little bit better it was almost unflyable
[01:36:38] initially and I did like the initial setup like as if it was one of my freestyle Rigs and it did not feel anything all right T shirt giveaway my friends large maybe shout out to Frank
[01:36:58] Nicholas for Frank got healthy and lost a bunch of weight and then shipped me all of his FPV extra large and large t-shirts and I'm doing giveaways with them my friends that
[01:37:16] is drone pilot Association of Canada but the cool part about this t-shirt is this right here who does not want the back of their t-shirt when they show up at the flight line to say certified drone
[01:37:30] donkey same as always no four four bucks a this will cost me four bucks a ticket to ship it I don't know if more than one person will want this so $4 PayPal or super chat
[01:37:45] for a ticket I'll put you guys on the the thing and somebody will win this is extra large this is an extra large t-shirt soft ass shirt four bucks a ticket if only one of you is interested
[01:37:57] then you'll win if more than one person are interested then we'll have a good oldfashioned contest a good oldfashioned spin the wheel thing you're you're more than welcome
[01:38:16] cmk for those that don't know cmk who is who's done pretty much all of the graphic design for me in the last like two to two and a half years and if you have anything graphic design
[01:38:29] related or if someone else in your life needs graphic design done or if a friend is talking about needing graphic design done hook him up with CMYKhe's like a legitimate professional graphic
[01:38:42] designer he does fantastic work professional work fun work screwing around FPV stuff if you want like a logo that's not just like a caricature of yourself right like like my logo like
[01:38:55] something that's more like an actual logo that's something that CMYK is Awesome with you get conceptual conceptual with them find like a font that you dig some shapes some colors
[01:39:06] and he can make you like a logo that you can actually put on stuff right like those caricatures are are cool and all but like you can't put that on here what I mean it doesn't work like
[01:39:18] that you need like a proper logo to do stuff like this Adam Weston wants to shirt he did a $4 Super Chat if he's the only one then I'm just shipping it to him I'm going to open up my email
[01:39:31] to see if anybody wants to do a $4 PayPal otherwise it is all Adam westons he says oh certified donkey let me get caught up on chat I got super behind give you guys a chance to
[01:39:49] potentially get in on a t-shirt giveaway cmk says here's an unlisted new edit with the 75mm whoop and 5 in good sketchy recovery at the end hold
[01:40:08] on we're gonna play this give people some a little bit more time hold on hold on hold on here we go summer real 2024 unlisted you're a certified donkey when you have unlisted edits
[01:40:21] Kevin Sumer says 661 anyone anyone that might need to fly in challenging RF environment cattv had to deal with 900 dying during a cycling gig a few months ago the the the dual band
[01:40:32] receivers are absolutely going on all of the cinematic rigs but I I mean a freestyle rig you're typically not going to fly that forever away and so the dual band is not necessarily
[01:40:47] really needed for that so I'm going to put regular old 2.4 elrs on the freestyle rigs maybe not maybe the 5-in freestyle rigs will get 900 mahz elrs that could be interesting because
[01:41:06] like a 5 in free what what one of the beautiful things about a 5-in freestyle rig is that if you have a somewhat clean set of motors on it and a fresh set of propellers on it that's like damn
[01:41:17] near a long range cinematic rig like you can do cool ass [@$#%] with a with a regular old fre Star Rig dragging around a GoPro Hero and that's and that's pretty
[01:41:32] slick and so to have 900 megahertz that's going to let you send that thing up a damn mountain range and I don't necessarily think I would miss the the difference in latency
[01:41:46] between 900 2.4 right I'm used to Crossfire 900 MHz late latency so going to elrs 900 is either going to be like the same latency or it might be a little bit less latency because elrs in general
[01:42:00] has smaller packets so maybe that's what I'll do maybe I'll do 900 on the on the five on all the 5 in rigs the working rigs get the dual band and then like 3-in Rigs and whatnot get 2.4
[01:42:14] 3-inch Rigs and Tiny whoops get 2.4 I think that'd be the best the best setup cm says dry weight 345 so then 345 150 gram let's say for a battery right right on like 500 is what
[01:42:33] that 5 in analog footage we're watching very cool cmk filling Us in on a bunch of stuff while we were watching it oh brother hobby 1 154s okay so those are actually 1504 and a halfs gotcha
[01:42:54] St quadas day that's right that's that event at that really cool spot parkour guy says in un crashed 10 gravity setting and the throttle low 1.3 medium 1 oh my God is the best for me
[01:43:08] parkour can you do me a favor can you message me on like Discord or something those settings I'm going to forget those and that might give me a little that might save me some time
[01:43:20] Kevin sum says if I weren't such a fatty may I could fit fit into a large it's an extra large Adam Wesson thanks again for the $4 Super Chat it's looking like you're going to I'm just going to ship
[01:43:31] this to you which is totally fine madon says LOL if I wasn't built like SE f i could wear that but it's medium 10 for me meton also says you can even reuse all your old Immortal T's oh my God
[01:43:43] that's true if you stay 900 so true I could just yeah that's rad Kevin suer says the hardware upgrade for Gemini X new RF chip opens up higher refresh rates for
[01:43:56] 900 MHS to nice no single band receivers with it yet though okay so I'll have to wait for that cool things are that that's rad chomer FPV is in the chat what's up homie
[01:44:08] Adam Wesson it's all yours I'm going to write your name on it I think I have your I think I have your address in patreon congrats brother I didn't even have to spin the wheel
[01:44:25] Adam Weston cool we good I need to print out my labels are two up on a sheet and I need to print out a label and so now I can print out a label for Adam Weston I'm gonna do it right now it's
[01:44:41] 11:50 what are we doing in the last 10 minutes friends we flying I'm gonna go to patreon and grab Adam Wesson's address and dump it into stamps.com and print out a
[01:44:56] thingy Adam Weston there he is yep I got your address you good it's the I'm sure it's current I was going to just check the address with you but I don't want to say a part of your address
[01:45:15] on a live stream computer what is happening with you right now what is the deal I'm clicking on things and nothing's happening I can I can't click in between the tabs but I can grab the whole window
[01:45:29] and move it what's that about what in this other window I can click between the tabs though oh there it goes strange stuff Adam Wesson says thanks a bunch same address
[01:45:46] awesome all right cool what are we doing in the last 10 minutes Should I fly Should I fly the meatball the heaviest 65mm quad in the world we're gonna do it we're gonna
[01:46:02] do it's meatball time friends meatball time come and get your meatballs I'll warm them up oh God come take a look at my meat balls they're
[01:46:29] delicious okay I've got all these tiny whoops out because I'm putting fresh props on them the the propellers took a hell of a beating at castle crash and so I'm going be nice to them and put some
[01:46:44] fresh propor on them meatball is an Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoop 2g4 Mobula 6 canopy RunCam nano3 camera newbie drone cockroach V3 frame with basically ow 0802 motors with the 1
[01:47:09] and a half millim shaft but 33,000 KV and then GemFan 128 Tri blades that's what we're about to fly I don't have Gates set up so we're just going to [@$#%] this thing
[01:47:23] around the room we'll go upstairs with it as well it'll be fine oh God I even have the right module in look at this go W something is going on with this computer man how can I not use
[01:47:42] keystrokes what the hell like the keyboard works but none of the keystrokes work how is that possible what is going on why did it just do that oh you
[01:47:56] bastard it's cuz the key stroks weren't working I have to rightclick and go to copy and then I have to go here and I have to right click and go to paste what kind of nonsense is
[01:48:13] this cut paste good Lord man but the keyword works that's so weird so weird Adam Weston there we go it's all set hopefully I have the label in there right so it doesn't just print two
[01:48:37] labels on top of each other lq is dropping because it's getting hot all right all right 0802 30,000 so th all right well there's the 2g4 so these these 802 30,000 are pushing this 2g4 really hard
[01:49:09] even though even though it's on 1.2 inch props this 2g4 might be hi teddy I did not hear you little buddy this 2g4 is maybe on its way out you never know and the temperature comes down
[01:49:27] there like if I if I relax I can get the core temperature warning to shut up but as soon as I start to fly hard it comes back there's a chance that it's filtering related
[01:49:45] let me take a look let me take a look at what the filters are end battery 3.7 bounce up to 3.8 that's fine I'll run a little bit more out of this battery let me take a look at what the gyro
[01:49:58] is on this AIO in BetaFlight and maybe I can maybe I can clean that up a little bit I have a feeling it's just the motors asking too much that's my hunch but I would love
[01:50:18] to be wrong so in the CLI if you type status it'll show you what your gyro is and this is an mpu 6000 so I was kind of wondering if it was a BMI 270
[01:50:32] gyro this being a 2g4 we don't have blackbox so I can't harass Brandon's baked beans to help me dial in the dial in the filters but on mpu 6000 Gyros these this should be plenty of
[01:50:52] filter filtering the the hardware filtering in the mpu 6000 is way more aggressive than the BMI 270 and so this gyro filter multiplier can very easily be maxed all the way out and
[01:51:08] I guess I could I could turn this Dynamic on here let's do that I'm G to I'm going to change from the static gyro low pass 2 to the dynamic gyro low pass one I'm going to leave this slider
[01:51:22] all the way maxed out though and then the dterm filtering is at 1.2 that's pretty safe that that's filtering a lot so I'm going to leave that alone oh man there's a lot of filtering
[01:51:36] going on down here there's a there are two Dynamic notches maybe this is over filtered I'm going to go down to one single Dynamic Notch and see what happens Q factor is also really
[01:51:49] low at 300 I'm going to bump this up to 4 00 maybe this is a scenario where we have too much filtering I just took one of the dynamic notches away that's going to that's going to really reduce
[01:52:03] the amount of filtering going what is this dterm Notch here there's a static dterm Notch oh this is I'm gonna turn this off a [@$#%] I wanted to take a screenshot of what that was
[01:52:23] damn it Can somebody go back and see what that determ Notch filter was I'm just going to click save on this can somebody rewind real quick and just type into the chat what that dterm Notch
[01:52:37] filter was just in case it was helping but I've just removed a ton of filtering let's see if that helps let's see if the situation we were in is one where there was too much filtering
[01:52:53] in there what the dynamic idle is also turned on in here so let me turn that off we'll go to a regular idle maybe that was doing something weird move this up to
[01:53:08] six and all right so those are some subtle changes but to 230 thank you dude I think that qu I think where that came from is I believe quad 66 did some blackboxing with this V3 cockroach
[01:53:27] frame and I think he found that there was a there was frame resonance in that little range there I believe that's why I had that set up let's see if this is better or
[01:53:42] worse didn't touch the pids at all all right we've already got the core so let's see what happens with the core temperature it's probably going to go up a little bit
[01:54:02] more let's give it a little bit more time all right so now it's coming down so let's see how far it comes down let's see if it comes all the way down and then turns off that's what I'm kind of
[01:54:14] hoping for and then I'll start flying it hard again we're just going to eat the rest of this battery by creating air flow to bring that core temperature down and then we'll see what's what whoa that was
[01:54:29] a weird little almost fail safe is thing that was interesting that happened right up here let me keep the sticks moving and that'll tell me if it's a fail safe or not that could have been
[01:54:47] like CPU maxing out or something the CPU usage is pretty high I do have it on dshot 3 300 though and 4K so I mean it's should be okay balls so the core temperature went out but now it's back
[01:55:00] well now it's out again this battery is done so I'm going to put another battery on here and we are going to fly it hard and see if that core temperature comes back on
[01:55:14] so core temperature is now off thank you Kevin Brandon says spooky upstairs Brandon what do you think about the the filtering scheme that I have on this thing which is kind of like
[01:55:33] my filtering scheme that I run on a lot of different stuff it's not aggressive at all do you think I'm leaving a lot of performance on the table or is it like in a good spot I I would rather have
[01:55:45] more filtering and then be able to push the P and D gains farther is is kind of my approach to it what are your thoughts my friend and no I'm not going to update these toBetaFlight
[01:56:03] uh5 if they had BMI 270s I would to go with your awesome little BMI filtering scheme all right so core temperature is under control let's fly it hard and see if it comes
[01:56:19] back on oh this battery is done all right hold on throw another battery at it well hold on let me make sure this battery is done it's bouncing back up to 3.8 381 382 oh God I think this battery
[01:56:38] might be ready to be retired because it's dropped all the way down to like 3.4 and it felt terrible oh no this battery's going in the garbage the battery is all the
[01:56:52] way way up to 396 that's a battery if it's sagging all the way down to 3.3 3.4 but then you land and it bounces up that high that's a battery that the internal resistances
[01:57:05] are way too high on I already have some red marker on that battery which means that it's doesn't fly right it's just an old battery that needs to get retired this is a much fresher battery
[01:57:17] that I'm putting on now Ben BR B Bean says gyro low pass one isn't helpful by itself on 4K pit Loops really so you think I should you think I should go back to the the setup I had with gyro
[01:57:32] low pass 2 on or should I just turn the gyro low passes all the way off and just let the dterm and the RPM filtering and the dynamic filtering do their thing this battery feels way
[01:57:49] better so the the flight experience of this of the meatball rig is that it flies like a meatball it's heavy as hell it's got a bunch of power and so it's got power and and
[01:58:12] weight so you can do that kind of stuff and it just hurs across the room but the 802 Motors are kind of heavy so the response time is actually not really as good as a 702 rig
[01:58:30] 30,000 33,000 KV is is a lot I I'm really excited to fly this rig on those those 1 and a half millim shaft wee bed 1210s by blades what you'll notice though is that the core
[01:58:55] temperature warning is not coming back on which means that the filtering did have something to do with there was well it stayed off for a while so the the filtering that we have now is
[01:59:11] doing a better job than it was which is cool but we've still got a situation where oh man look at it Munch that battery cmy K says Teddy looks so unimpressed this [Laughter] evening oh
[01:59:30] [@$#%] that's terrific all right so let's hook it back up Brandon's typed some some things into the chat and we're going to continue to fuss around with the filters a little bit but that was definitely
[01:59:44] better than the way it was filtering a minute ago and so maybe if we keep dialing the filtering in we can get it to the point where that that core temperature [@$#%] stays off
[01:59:57] so what do we got always use gyro lopass 2 because it actually keeps calculating at 8 khz and doesn't get aliasing I'm running this at 4 khz pit Loop and dshot 300 though
[02:00:14] is that does that change the situation any just taking a quick look around here so we're going to kill gyro low pass one maybe turn low pass 2 back on I guess I don't need this dterm Notch
[02:00:28] filter it didn't seem to be helping use gy lowest 2 and you can raise it as high as a th000 Herz if it's Su yep so we're good that's what that's what moving this slider all the way to
[02:00:41] the right does it's makes that cut off frequency frequency a th000 Hertz Zoe 101 says just tuned in what's this crazy build this is the meatball build this is a Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoop
[02:00:59] with 0802 33,000 KV Motors all right so we switched that gyro lope pass one let's try this let's actually try removing filtering to see if that helps I'm going to move the
[02:01:15] dterm filter slider from 1.2 all the way up to 1.5 and the pids are already pretty aggressive so this is going to be kind of challenging on the oh we'll see this is how I can tell if I'm like over or
[02:01:34] under filtered leave the pids aggressive and take a bunch of dterm filtering out of it and see what happens this is also going to reduce the load on the on the processor a little bit which we
[02:01:47] should be fine but still all right let's see so I'm just going to oh boy NOP nope nope that's zero throttle it's flying away it's flying away so we now do not have enough
[02:02:03] filtering so that's good that's a really good data point that means that we are not in a situation where we're filtering too much we were probably filtering just the right amount in a minute I'm
[02:02:18] going to spin each one of these motors up and see if I have any Motors that are start to get banged up I doubt it but let's just keep moving things around here so it will not at the current
[02:02:32] PID values it will not take the dterm filter multiplier being all the way up at 1.5 screw it I'm going to take it down to 1.1 we have pretty much we have very little filtering happening on the gyro
[02:02:46] low pass so there's not much latency there I I think I'm going to actually maybe leave it here I I think the problem is that these motors are asking too much of the of the 5 amp fets I
[02:03:02] think that's what's going on here I can try backing the pids off a little bit these motors have really good response time so I might not need the pids the pit gains to be this aggressive
[02:03:17] let's try that feed forward is at 05 where I like it Dynamic damping is really high move that back down to 1.2 the dyamic damping Advance is turned off that's weird hold on what's that the lowest
[02:03:42] number 40 50 20 no 30 is my go-to for these all right cool let's give that a shot so I didn't I didn't do much I didn't do much but we did a little bit the big thing that we
[02:04:03] did is add that dterm filtering back in so that should bring this back under control I think this battery this is a dog comom battery and I think it's on its way out as
[02:04:14] well oh hold on I said I was going to spin these motors up let me just make sure that we don't have a vibration issue going on on which is what's causing this problem motor one super
[02:04:24] smooth motor 2 super smooth oh motor 3 is not the smoothest motor 4 is super smooth what's happening motor 3 is that a propeller problem or is that a motor problem let's
[02:04:38] take a quick look just pop the propeller off real fast here and give it a spin with just the motor Bell Jesus I can't get the I can't get the prop off yikes come on off of there
[02:05:06] propeller all right hold on let me unplug the the quad it's getting a little hot I can smell it smells like hot Electronics all right let me really dig this prop popper in here try to get
[02:05:22] this propeller off man is really holding on there it goes all right so pull this propeller spin the motor back up and see if the motor itself is vibrating or if it's a bent
[02:05:36] prop pluging the battery back in all right it's bounds Turtle mode back left motor nope it was too quick back left motor here we go I think it's the
[02:05:55] prop let me do the fingernail trick motor shaft seems fine I think it's a bent prop all right cool let's switch this out for another 128 triblade real quick here hang on one
[02:06:18] second of course they're all put away buddy boy what are you doing what's up little dog what would you like for me throw your toy you do it's all you want ever ever ever ever ever all
[02:06:34] right right side high if you didn't know there's been a 1.2 in 1.5 mm motor shaft propeller available for a long time it's the geman 128 not the greatest propeller in the
[02:06:52] world certainly not the worst either it's a little bit of a heavy propeller and it doesn't have much pitch right 1208 and so the the the 1210 byblade is a more pitchy propeller and
[02:07:10] it's also lighter so that's usually like a better bet is is the 1210 but it flies like a byblade so if you want if you want more grip these these 128s will do it for you but they're just
[02:07:26] they're a little heavy Oh wait [@$#%] spin that left rear motor up see what's going on see if it's vibrating a little bit less yep well I can maybe now move the filters back
[02:07:46] up that prop is drastically out of balance okay well let's see if that took care of the core temperature warning problem it very well could have so it's okay that it's hot
[02:08:09] right now it was sitting powered on for a while when I was trying to get the propeller off of it spooky spooky whole family is sleep all right temperatures are
[02:08:25] starting to come down 160 all right come on come on come on come on keep coming keep coming all right temperatures are down let's flly hard and see what's what it sounds
[02:08:39] better with that propeller swapped out the the response time though is is nothing like what you get from the 72s the 702 is like a 2207 it's got that more narrow
[02:08:57] Bell and you get a bet you get better response time from it these 802s are more like a 2306 like they're going to stay cooler but it's a heavier motor so you're going to you're going to
[02:09:09] sacrifice a little bit of response time I'm not dialed in with this rig I really don't know what this this build is it's its own thing I think these motors are going
[02:09:29] to come off of here and go back onto a 75mm rig that core temperature warning is not coming back on and we're flying it hard so I think that was the problem I think I was chasing my
[02:09:49] tail case in point change your props first or at least spin them up and make sure there's not one that's vibrating harder I think I was chasing my tail a little bit on the on the filtering
[02:10:04] but I mean I'm now in a spot where it's got a little bit of extra filtering which is a good place to be in I can now move the pids up a little bit even though it might but it might not
[02:10:15] need the extra pit gains you don't want to just keep moving the pit gains up more more and more and more and more for no reason like you want to have a reason for increasing the pit gains once
[02:10:27] the thing eats all the prop wash and the flight characteristics are like perfect leave it leave the pids there and fly it hard and crash it hard and profit you
[02:10:42] know it's very tempting to just keep pushing the pids farther and farther and farther and farther look at this this is a broken in half HQ ultral light 1.6 in propeller
[02:10:59] this is this answers the question can we drill HQ props out from 1 millim to 1.5 and the answer is no because this wasn't even drilled out to 1.5 this was a stock HQ ultralight 1.6 in
[02:11:17] byblade that broke in half while I was flying so you cannot drill these out they they will become way too fragile Brandon says if you have extra filtering then be careful about raising
[02:11:30] pids because you might get oscillations from Filter latency on p& d being too high interesting that is the the beautiful balance of filters and pit gains you you have to you have to
[02:11:49] balance those two things Black Box helps quite a bit rigs that don't have black box you got to just kind of fly it see how it is go back change it see how it is the core temperature warning is is
[02:12:01] is interesting because without that turning on you're trying to like feel the differences and once the pit gains are high enough to where it eats all the prop wash it's
[02:12:16] kind of hard to tell the differences it's kind of hard to tell the difference between continuing to raise the pids if you can continue to raise them enough you'll be able to feel it and you
[02:12:26] might you might not but I am going to push the pits farther on this thing but not now because we're done flying right now I'm thinking about throwing this
[02:12:39] battery away it's not performing great but I'll hold on to it that's a live stream friends thanks for hanging people cmk keep it up man let's see some oh oh oh oh he sent me the the secret
[02:12:53] edit where's the secret edit where' it go is it here it's over here isn't it got it here's the secret CMYK edit that he sent it's unlisted exclusive exclusive [@$#%] all this is
[02:13:11] the five obviously the 5-in rig that was not a tiny whoop oh this is fun 5 in 5 in analog footage mixed in with whoa nice mid air mixed in with tiny W nice tiny woop footage oh look at the
[02:13:28] individual ESC Channel RPMs on the left there oh using a Coheed song [@$#%] super weird to see 5 in not weird that's not the right word but wild to see 5-inch footage cut in with with
[02:13:43] tiny whoop footage awesome I'm not I'm just not gonna say anything I'm not gonna say anything but I'm disappointed with that dive Stephen I used your real name that's how
[02:14:00] disappointed I am I I would love to see the camera on the 5in rig and the camera on the on the tiny whoop be exact the same nice big bing bong on the bottom of the [@$#%] cast cast
[02:14:27] tank ah that would be hysterical to see flight footage with the exact that looks exactly the same but tiny whoop versus 5 in that would be cool did you guys just put a second rig up there I think they
[02:14:46] did oh oh man here we go here we go how many how many quads can we oh nice hell that was a good one awesome stuff keep going cmk keep flying brother we'll keep watching get your
[02:15:12] asses subscribed to cmy K's Channel or I'm gonna beat you here's another link to his videos there you go my friend friends key strokes aren't working God is that a weird thing to
[02:15:29] have happen there we go right click paste there it is Friends got an oil change I forgot that was on the tag all right friends I'll see you guys on whoop Wednesday at should I should I
[02:15:43] change these Monday night Joshua is no longer streaming at 8 on Monday so should I change these Monday night live streams to 8:00 Eastern West Coast folks you probably won't maybe
[02:15:53] you will but should I change it type yes or no in the in the chat just type yes or no should I change Monday night streams to 800 PM eastern time yes or no hurry up type yes or no do it do
[02:16:08] it do it do it do it do it do it you guys get to get to decide I'm going to play you guys out with the rest of the quad bua battery there's about 50 seconds left I'm going to rewind it a little
[02:16:29] but the flight footage here at the end of the live stream everybody says yes all right so Monday night if I can remember Monday night streams are going to change to 8 o'clock Zach says no the
[02:16:39] first no was Zach sorry brother you're you're you're being outgunned in the chat where the hell is the quad oh I put it over there on the couch quad mola F3 siren 270 gram all up 4S
[02:16:55] 850 GemFan 3052 propellers which are basically like 30 3035 35 pitch 3 in WalkSnail that's what you're about to see enjoy friendos see you guys Wednesday see you
[02:17:30] a n
