[00:03:19] hey F what why friends my name is I clicked pause but it didn't didn't do anything my name is Aaron Ciotti every everybody calls me Ciotti welcome to Sunday Q&A we're going to be checking out
[00:03:40] the RC and power 0703 27,000 KV motor we have checked out the VCI 0703 27,000 in the past and it was really good it didn't have quite it's arguably the best 75mm
[00:04:04] motor it has enough KV and it has just barely enough Stater size Stater volume I should say and I'm currently struggling my ass off to get these rubber Grom I've gotten
[00:04:21] three of them but I can't get this fourth rubber grommet out of this hd0 light VTX that I need to send in for repair the VCI 073 27000 were really really good
[00:04:37] and the issues with them were they didn't have quite enough grunt just not quite enough and they were not quite efficient enough I've heard that these RC and power 0703 also sort of lack efficiency
[00:04:56] but it wasn't that bad and so if these have like slightly stronger magnets or a tighter air gap or like if they just have that tiny little bit of extra what I'm saying
[00:05:17] then these could be the the 75mm analog motor I mean maybe even the the the WalkSnail motor too although I don't really know about that here's a funny thing the other day for that 2S live
[00:05:37] stream I charged up all four of these tiny whoop 2S 300mah BT 3.0 batteries and there's really kind of like no discharger for BT 3.0 so what you can do is just use
[00:05:54] your cell Checkers your your cell Checkers have a little 5vt backck in there I guess it's 5 volt to back and they get a little bit warm if you leave them plugged in they cuz they're just
[00:06:04] sitting there and discharging it takes a long time to discharge though but if you have something that for whatever reason you don't have a discharger for you can use your
[00:06:19] your cell Checkers just keep an eye on them they're not going to like stop discharging for you so you got to like kind of drag drag these around with you so that you can keep looking at him
[00:06:31] also be a little bit careful make sure that you monitor the each individual cell voltage I remember back in the day when Joshua came out with his first parallel board the cell Checker that
[00:06:47] was built into it would only pull power from the first cell of the battery so if you left a battery hooked up it would it could p pull that cell number one all the way down to Chinatown if it's a
[00:07:04] One S battery it doesn't matter but like in this case I've been keeping an eye on these to make sure that they don't over discharge just one cell or the other and so far both of these are fine
[00:07:15] these These are discharging cell number one and two at the same rate I thought about that because I've never I've never done that test with one of these before so I'm going to leave this
[00:07:28] banging away like this but I'm going to going to leave it over here where I can see it and just make sure that it's pulling both cells down today in order to check this motor out we're
[00:07:40] going to do a little bit extra we're going to fly all of the 75mm rigs inside the house we're going to do both of these rigs that I've been using to test which is super fun this guy over here has a
[00:07:57] slightly heavy an a slightly heavier an Anna but a slightly lighter weight frame and this guy here has the mbula 7 V4 frame these two guys you're looking at RC and Power 102 23
[00:08:12] 22,000 and then on this guy BetaFPV 1102 22000 we're going to fly both of these in the house because what I'm starting to realize is what I'm really going after
[00:08:30] in terms of these 75mm rigs at this point is response time and flying these guys in the house the response time is like immediately obvious like it is way more obvious than when you fly them
[00:08:46] outside I am going to fly all these out oh I'm also going to fly this mobula this is basically a Mobula 6 that's been frame swapped into a mobula 7 V4 frame this has the ow 802s on
[00:09:04] it they're actually 30,000 instead of 27,000 but I mean I could I could motor limit them down they perform just like the IGA 27,000 802s I I do have to mention all three of
[00:09:20] these rigs have 1 and a half millimeter motor shafts and they're going to be good Bashers this RC and power 0703 only only has a 1 mil motor shaft but I've done a bunch of crashing with some
[00:09:38] VCI 1 mm motor shaft Motors and they've been totally fine so there very well could be something to what other people have mentioned which is that HappyModel uses like a
[00:09:54] metal for their motor shaft that's not quite as strong as some of the other manufacturers which is why on HappyModel motors for 75mm rigs we really want that 1 and a half mm motor
[00:10:09] shaft for a 75mm rig that's going to bash and crash and slam outside we want a 1 and half MIM motor shaft RCN power is doing it on their 102 BetaFPV is doing it on their 1102 it's obvious
[00:10:23] that that's what we want the other really nice thing about the 1 and half mm motor shaft is is the propellers have more to grab on to and so you run into issues of the propellers flying off a
[00:10:38] lot less what I will say at the moment is that the only 1.6 in propeller worth running on a 1 and a half millimeter motor shaft is the GemFan 1610 which is a great prop don't get me wrong but
[00:11:00] HQ has a new 1.6 inch byblade that's even lighter weight that helps with response time which helps with response time and it's only a 1 mm shaft propeller so on these RC and power 0
[00:11:16] 703s I'm going to be able to run that prop and the answer that someone is thinking the question that someone is thinking right now of well why don't we just drill that HQ 1 mm prop out here's
[00:11:32] your answer this is why and this is one that I didn't drill out this is that HQ propeller being run on a 1 mm motor shaft and I just like crashed it into the leg of the table and it broke in
[00:11:45] half so if it's if if there's the if they're breaking not drilled out you better damn well believe that drilling them out is going to cause them to be like way too fragile also it's
[00:11:59] almost impossible to properly drill a propeller out and have it still be balanced without some sort of a jig and nobody has really made a jig for doing 1 mm to 1 millim and a half to to
[00:12:14] 1 and a half millim yet oddly enough a long time ago FPV cycle made a little jig setup for drilling 1 and 1 12 mm props out to 2 mm but that will not work that relies on
[00:12:35] the the outer screw holes for the motors right like the the extra the two extra screw holes on the old school propellers I said Motors just now I meant to say propellers none of these
[00:12:48] new tiny woop propellers have those extra t-mount holes and so even if like I swapped the drill bit on that jig it's wouldn't work there's no way for it to hold the propeller I don't know
[00:13:00] how you would do it I I I don't know how you would I don't know what the jig would look like I guess it would have to I guess it would have to hold on to the hub you'd have to build the jig for the
[00:13:12] specific prop that you wanted to do so that it could hang on to the specific Hub right GemFan uses a different Hub than I'm taking the grommets out of another one of these WalkSnail light
[00:13:24] btxs that has blown up I'm not happy about it after the live stream from the other day where the title was like another blown up WalkSnail light I've gotten a bunch of messages from
[00:13:37] people of like yep me too I've had a bunch of WalkSnail lights let go on me we'll see how the repair thing is if you if you email on kx's website there's a there's a I want to say
[00:13:55] line item but that's not it there's an item for sale that is repair and in the description it says you got to email us first I emailed them that night after the live stream and they'd replied to me the very
[00:14:10] next by the very next day which was awesome with an email with instructions on what to do here's the address you shi to put this number on the outside yada y y so
[00:14:22] we'll see we'll see what the repair what the cxw WalkSnail repair service looks I'm sending them two WalkSnail light vtx's and one of the old school
[00:14:42] vtx's which all have the exact same problem which is that the TX and RX have just failed it there's just there's no communication between the vtx's and the flight controller
[00:14:59] and on one hand it's like well I mean that's not the end of the world we can still the the the WalkSnail goggles still have some OSD in them and they have battery monitoring and it does turn
[00:15:12] red when the battery gets low enough voltage that you want to come and land but the problem is that the WalkSnail system needs the arming signal to go into full power mode from the
[00:15:28] flight controller and so these three WalkSnail vtx's only run at like 25 Ms or whatever the hell it is whatever like the minimum power setting is and I mean that what's kind of funny is that
[00:15:44] that sort of works for tiny whoops because you typically don't fly tiny whoops all that far away but it's just it sucks and you don't have any OSD right like that's the other
[00:15:56] big problem is you don't you don't get warnings you don't get any of the things that we get in OSD that we kind of rely on to fly safely and for me to test this
[00:16:12] stuff right so for me they got to go back but we'll see we'll see how the the repair process is I have no idea how expensive it'll be maybe there is no cost associated with it I have no
[00:16:24] idea there's not really any info on their website about it and they didn't really tell me anything in the in the email I but I'm not just going to throw them away right like if if the repair cost is
[00:16:38] $50 their $70 VTX is it's going to be worth it so at the beginning of the stream that is going that's your little preview thank you for jumping on the live stream of the
[00:16:54] next castle crash edit that's going to go up that is that was this builds here this Jungle Jim Basher with 083s 0803 27,000 28,000 whatever they are the VCI
[00:17:11] 82.8 and I think that was like one or two batteries what's happening out there hello what are you doing where you going come hang out come hang out on the live stream
[00:17:24] it's fun I can't I got go everybody in the chat is asking about you there's like Tedy will be here for you there's 59 people that all at once just said please we haven't seen Maggie in a
[00:17:36] long time she's adorable come say hi have have her answer a bunch of our questions about life right I'll say hi but then I gotta go see all you got to do is lie and then
[00:17:49] I just got to say hi you just got to lie to the ladies they they'll never know excuse [Laughter] me what what's the what's the old what's what's the the
[00:18:03] old what did we used to say about women wny they were why they were dumb was it there was like it was back in the olden days was it what was the like the the super
[00:18:18] horrible male thing that that reasoning behind big one there was one main one wasn't it like it wasn't estrogen it was the women were hysterical that's itct like that's it that's it
[00:18:34] that's it that's what I was thinking love you I love you oh man we have been unkind to women men we we for for all of us that are alive now we should be spending the
[00:18:48] rest of our lives apologizing cuz man our our gender has been quite awful to women in the past for for for no real reason other than to push them down so that we can continue to stay on
[00:19:05] top that's what she said all right Friends Frank Nicholas was first Dexter was next Cole Powers Troy prog Colin Stapleton four little pigs Spaceman spiff Michael kajas elbow the kidson
[00:19:19] crom by the way if if I look tired I am I we went to the Halal Guys pretty famous restaurant from New York that's now all over the place and Maggie ordered Sage something with chicken schwarma and
[00:19:37] then aelia ordered something with chicken schwarma and I was all excited and then they're like we're out of chicken schwarma but we have this other really good chicken that's
[00:19:47] sweet and spicy and I was like ah I can't really do spicy and he's like oh no it's mainly just sweet I was like sure he's like and I I was like I I better by now my stomach
[00:20:00] can't handle really anything at this point but for sure it can't handle spicy stuff and I was like I've been to this Rodeo before it ends up with me bleeding from the head and I
[00:20:13] was like I was like let me push this guy a little bit I was like H how does it like build up is it the kind of spice that like builds up a little bit at that point like if anything is actually spicy
[00:20:23] and the person is not a bastard they'll say yes because that's what spice does and he's like no no not really it's just like the sweetness and I don't know he had a he had a
[00:20:33] trustworthy face that was not a trustworthy face and so we came home and I was like exhausted it's was also like a big platter of food rice and lettuce and tomatoes and onions and I got some
[00:20:56] Baba gadoo I will never call it Baba B it shall always be baba gadoo and I ate like I was 14 years old and I came home and was very sleepy and fell asleep at 9:30 and then woke up at
[00:21:13] midnight with just an inside filled with lava just insides overflowing with hot hot hot hot m craft [@$#%] lava and then I was up until 700 a.m. I also I've also begun to have
[00:21:39] these like very sharp half an hour allergy attacks over the last few days like I'll just be sitting here like there's nothing weird like like I have allergy attacks when like Maggie
[00:21:53] lights a candle that's like a weird scent or aelia puts perfume on or whatever perfume I don't know why I just pronounced it perfume and so I've had allergy issues for a long time but right now I
[00:22:08] think it's because the the temperature is dropping and something weird is is some weird plant is having sex outside I'm having these like half an hour to hour long just like I'm just
[00:22:22] sitting here and then just my face just implodes and I had three of those last night so I'm definitely not really frustrated shaneon Mindy halil FPV RC vpro Walter vanen Ard comment FPV
[00:22:44] hockey rounds Spaceman spiff Douglas 6 Striker Great Scott FPV unknown doubles FPV steady Edie crom Frosty tiny shark Bob Bruce FPV Luke axon Chris Rob Christopher Robin Dennis rice
[00:23:05] backck what's up everybody I'm gonna leave it there if you want me to say your name get in early get into the streams early Cole Powers if you want to talk directly to me in the chat no
[00:23:17] chat's over here type CiottiFPV or do a super chat if you want to support the impossible task of being a full-time FPV content creator Ciotti fv.com is the other big way that you can support
[00:23:30] me Cole pow tagged me and said hd0 5 in one I woke up to a couple of text messages from Kevin suner sayingthe the hd0 AIO is in stock I'm afraid it's going to go out of stock I'm
[00:23:45] ordering you one thank you Kevin super super super cool of you so there's going to be one on the way I don't have any info on it neither hd0 nor is it HappyModel that they're
[00:23:58] working with I'm assuming they're working with HappyModel nobody got me involved in the process whatsoever so I have Z you guys have significantly more information than I do because you've
[00:24:06] been paying attention more to it I kind of haven't but we'll be checking it out thanks to Kevin Sumer dude thank you so much very very very cool I'm excited having HD zero
[00:24:20] goggles to just use analog with is the silliest thing ever and I've used hd0 before and I love that it exists I've struggled to figure out what it does better than the other video systems for
[00:24:37] me personally this AO is the answer to that I think it is a little bit heavier than some of the other aios so there's still a chance that it's like too heavy it almost
[00:24:50] certainly won't be too heavy on a 75mm rig like when I get it I'm going to test it on a 65 if it's too heavy for that it's going to go on a 75mm rig and I'm almost
[00:25:03] certain that it'll be great because we've got enough power and runtime on 75mm analog weight rigs to give you a great flight experience and so I'm excited should be really good
[00:25:19] also very interested to see if it's durable that's kind of why I'm putting it on 65mm rig first is to smash the hell out of it and see if it holds up because durability is super
[00:25:31] important arguably one of the most important things Kevin J just another Kevin FPV with a $10 Super Chat thank you brother super generous he says thanks for suggesting the fingernail
[00:25:41] test on the motor shaft last stream got my Mobula 6 2024 back to flying today how many Motors were how many motor shafts were all banged up oh
[00:25:56] okay I just read the one single message in chat from Rob axelson that says he says we're all wrong isn't hemorrhoids nor prostate and not a fart and I was like what I didn't say that
[00:26:08] but it's he's telling a joke I think two doctors see a man walk weirdly down the street one says the other looks like he has a prostate issue as say the other says no hemorrhoids they stop the man
[00:26:17] inform him of their observation Jesus just another Kevin says the two front ones sounds about right the the front Motors take more abuse than the rears steady Ed FPV tagged me it said
[00:26:33] I think the review on it from Jessie P was the most informative to me I that is literally here I'll show you I will just drag this window over to the other screen that review is right here I I
[00:26:46] did not wake up with enough time to watch it as soon as this stream is stream is done I will be watching that review I'm very excited so get yours now maybe somebody
[00:27:01] has left a link in chat already I think I saw Defiance RC might be selling it you guys will find it ster says no Walter says good evening ster says all up weight should end up at 24.5 to 25
[00:27:16] grams what do you what are we talking about I don't know what we're talking about here wait did the 703s get hot for you 2.6 ratio makes me worried It's Too Tall the VC did not weirdly I think they
[00:27:34] don't make quite enough power to get hot but we'll see we'll see crom says the vifly tooer does disch oh you're right of the BT 2.0 batteries the IST discharger 2 with a quick adapter to
[00:27:47] xt30 what what this made me realize is that so I have I have the BT 3.0 to balance lead adapters what this made me realize is that I don't have any any dischargers that that work
[00:28:00] off of balance leads that would be kind of cool I'm going to sort of keep my eye open for them and I'm not getting I have no plans of getting the the tooth ster yet I I don't have enough
[00:28:12] rigs on BT 3.0 to really warrant spending $30 $40 or whatever it is on it I've got I've got the little adapters and then I've got this little emac balance lead charger so I can
[00:28:27] charge two of them up on this and then this best kept secret in the world of tiny whoops BetaFPV makes these little Chargers makes these little Chargers this is the BT 3.01 this is the bt2.0
[00:28:45] one charge two bt2.0 is charge 1 BT 3.0 but then on the other side there's USBC if you plug USBC into this it becomes a charger if you don't plug USBC into this and you just plug a battery into this
[00:29:01] there's a screen below this white bit and it's a cell Checker but I'm also using it as a as a discharger here today 4.23 4.23 see how those those voltages are coming down
[00:29:17] evenly that that's a good thing that means it's very slowly discharging the entire battery but these are some of the handiest little things to have in your toolkit charger cell
[00:29:26] Checker these are awesome I'm going to have two of these ons ones available on the Etsy store in a day or two well inside baseball for you so stay
[00:29:45] tuned steady edti oh we got that steady Eddie also mentioning the the VII to through charger good call friends tiny shark says on a three and a half inch freestyle rig in what
[00:29:57] situations would I use either 1505 or 1804 great question 1505 is going to be slightly lighter weight with slightly more power believe it or not
[00:30:11] 1804 is going to be a little bit heavier but it's going to stay cooler A Wider Stater that's not as tall has more of the motor in the airflow from the propellers so that motor is going to
[00:30:25] stay cooler so if you want a more consistent motor that's always cool so every time you go Full Throttle it's nice and cool and it's going to give you the exact same amount of power that's
[00:30:38] the 1804 or if you're looking to carry a bunch of weight if you're looking to build that three and 1 half rig 3 and 1 half inch rig out to be like 350 gram or 400 gram like you want to carry an insta
[00:30:53] 360 go two or three or maybe like even like DJI action 2 1804 hands down the wider motor will stay cooler and be able to carry more weight right similar to why cops fly so much better on like a
[00:31:11] 2004 2104 224 a big wide motor right versus a 1507 or a 1408 which are really tall Motors so that is a very important distinction between those two if you were to build that rig
[00:31:29] out to be like 280 grams 270 grams that 1505 is going to be totally fine and the the rig is actually going to be a little bit lighter it's going to crash a little bit better it's going to have a little
[00:31:40] bit better runtime the 1804 the other thing that's nice about the 1804 is that xnova makes it and xnova makes phenomenal Motors so there's nothing wrong with that 1804
[00:31:58] motor it's super durable crazy durable that's the now we're getting into the specific 1804 motor though right now we're no longer talking about stator sizes we're talking about the
[00:32:12] available Motors in each one of those Stater sizes your question is more the way that you typed your question out it's all about the Stater size regardless of who's making the motors if
[00:32:26] the motors even exist also regardless of KV and so and that that's that that I that's what the most important part the most important part the the most important one of one of the
[00:32:39] more important things that I really try to get everybody that watches these live streams to understand is Stater sizes that has taken me years and years and years and years to really get a feel for
[00:32:52] like what stator what Stater size is good for each different all-up weight each different flight task like C whoops versus freestyle rigs please don't be one of these random
[00:33:10] allergy attacks the next level of that though is like what motors are currently available the reason why I I I want to get that Stater information out is that won't change the the the way that
[00:33:27] Stater size performs is separate from the actual Motors that are available so a504 from RC and power versus hglrc even though the RC and power motor is almost certainly going to be better
[00:33:46] still a any 1505 is going to perform differently than any 1804 so once I dump that info on you then we can talk a little bit more about like some specific stuff but the
[00:33:59] the specific stuff talking about like the specific 1804s that exist today couple of years from now those Motors will be gone so that th this won't be what's the stupid ass word for
[00:34:12] it Evergreen the me dumping the knowledge of 1505 versus 1804 is Evergreen content me talking about about the specific Motors that exist is not Evergreen content sorry that's just the natural
[00:34:36] reaction from sane human beings when using dumb dumb dumb dumb jargon rob a says hello FPV Luke says hope you're doing well I am man I'm hanging out you guys I'm a lucky guy
[00:35:00] Dennis rice said rice Beck says cadx normally bills exactly 50% for a VTX repair sent a couple myself that's not a bad deal as so about to say as long as they come back and they last a
[00:35:19] while we'll see I'll let Co power says tell Maggie thanks for service to the stream oh she knows she knows Elias says would you recommend building a WalkSnail tiny
[00:35:32] whoop from scratch or buying a binding fly and customizing it I want a freestyle oriented build I would recommend buying a BNF and flying it a lot right out of the
[00:35:48] box as many batteries as you can put through it and try not to like crash the [@$#%] out of it because if you can fly a whole bunch out of the
[00:36:00] box the you can hope sort of figure out if your WalkSnail VTX is going to die or not and if it does die hopefully it dies quick enough that you can message who you bought the BNF from and
[00:36:14] saythe WalkSnail VTX died and they'll say okay send it back to us we'll send you a replacement it's starting to feel and look like some of the WalkSnail
[00:36:31] light vtx's are fine and they just work and they seem to last a while some of them die I'm not going to say quickly but within 100 batteries all three of these have died within 100 batteries
[00:36:50] they've probably died within 20 or 30 batteries but I'm going to round way up and so that's my current that would be my current recommendation that's
[00:37:08] that's I don't know I've got two of them that have a ton of batteries on them and they're totally fine so I have faith that some of them are going to be okay they're expensive they're
[00:37:23] they're $70 vtx's and so I'm going to it's sounds like I'm going to send this in for repair and they're going to build me 35 time three for for each one of these for these three total and
[00:37:36] that's a lot that's a lot of money so I don't know I would I would almost I would almost recommend not building a walks hoop right now it's tough man this is
[00:37:58] this is some I mean this is 50% failure rate right now that I'm dealing with on the on the WalkSnail lights that's insane and we still don't have a great powertrain I guess we do for
[00:38:18] the 65s the 65s were good the 40,000 KV 72s move around just fine but the battery life sucks WalkSnail tiny whoops are are fascinating the the the the quality of the video is
[00:38:35] outrageous and they're great to fly because you can see where you're going but the durability just sucks at the moment so it's tough it's really tough for me
[00:38:50] to recommend that anybody dives into a WalkSnail tiny whoop there's everybody telling me that Maggie's going to kill me now she she we talk a lot about the the the
[00:39:07] plate of women and how unfair it is and a lot of that stuff so she knows that I'm not being an [@$#%] she's she's playing into the joke by saying what
[00:39:19] it's crazy it's absolutely crazy we just our society is so so incredibly like I knew a lot of this stuff but like she's actually pointed out a bunch of [@$#%]
[00:39:35] that that what so what we were talking about a minute ago is that women women that were deemed hysterical used male doctors used to recommend and give them
[00:39:55] hysterectomies to like this is not a laughing matter I'm just I'm laughing because it's absolutely insane like the insanity of this it's just ridiculous it's just like what the
[00:40:08] [@$#%] I mean it also speaks to like us just not understanding like people goingon to people and we we we didn't know back then but still it's it's
[00:40:19] just oh man look crazy men were not diagnosed by women to have their balls cut off right that's something that's never happened and it's just it's just absolutely it's just wild it's wild man
[00:40:40] it's wild Walter says female females get us into the cave to make fire then manipulation started easy Walter also says tomorrow you bleed on the other side oh God robox says time
[00:40:54] to freckle oh god oh that's horrifying I'm not G to read the rest of that that's disgusting FV Luke says perfume is how we say it in the UK LOL no way I didn't know
[00:41:12] that I I've watched ton a lot of BBC television it started with Top Gear and then there was a period where you could on the PlayStations you could just type in a different IP address
[00:41:25] and there was a website that you could grab a you could grab IP addresses from the rest of the world and you could just drop them in to the PlayStation and then Netflix would think that you were
[00:41:37] in that region and after many years of watching Top Gear I learned that trick and I was able to do it for a year or two before they blocked it and I was able to watch tons of B brilliant
[00:41:52] BBC shows through Netflix I hate that that although I bet you that I bet you there's a way to do it again they Netflix figured out a way to block it and that's when I stopped doing it and
[00:42:02] it sucked because American Netflix is way shittier than British Netflix I bet you there's a way to do it again I'm sure there's a way to do it on the computer I wonder if there's a way to do
[00:42:13] it on the PlayStation again I wouldn't be surprised if there's a way to do it like within the router but then like that's going to like I don't know whatever I I don't know computer things
[00:42:24] but Colin Stapleton says the hd0 AIO is 6.3 grams with plugs and uses nonmi cable cameras I mean they're they're doing everything right man I'm blown away that that it exists I
[00:42:46] I'm like oh God that tastes like Hello I can't believe that that they managed to do it and I'm firmly in this Camp of like it has to suck because I still don't
[00:43:05] totally believe that they did it I I don't believe that they managed to take an AO that's crammed full of chips and they managed to take an hd0 VTX which is crammed full of chips and
[00:43:21] combine them that just still seems impossible to me so I still feel like on the third battery it's going to blow up but people been testing it so and I I I cannot
[00:43:36] wait to be proven wrong I hope to hell I'm proven wrong on that Elias says finger nail test yes good question Elias thank you for asking that question so that I can go over it again because it's
[00:43:50] a it's an important thing after you've been crashing your tiny whoops a while the itty bitty one millim or even the 1 and a half millim motor shafts will start to bend and when they bend
[00:44:03] your propeller does this and it dumps all kinds of extra vibrations into the gyro and it makes the pit Loop freak out and you have to add filtering and it sucks tiny whoop Motors
[00:44:15] are frangible I don't want to use that word they're they take a beating and they're they're need to replace them from time to time and one of the best ways to replace them easiest way to
[00:44:32] replace them is to put your rig into Turtle mode hold it in your hand and very gently push your right stick into the corners that's going to fire up one motor at a time and since you're holding
[00:44:46] it you'll be able to feel the vibrations what you're going to feel is the front two Motors take more abuse so they're going to vibrate harder an even better test is to pull the propellers
[00:44:59] off and then you can do that same test or even better you put it into the motors tab of BetaFlight and you spin all four Motors up props off to like 1250 in the the the the slider goes
[00:45:15] from 1,000 to 2,000 so put that slider at like 1,200 or 1250 or 1300 with all four Motors and then take your fingernail and hold your fingernail next to the motor shaft and if it's a
[00:45:29] perfectly straight motor shaft you won't feel any vibrations if there's any Bend in it you'll feel it on your fingernail your fingernail is hard and your fingers are sensitive so you can really feel the
[00:45:40] amount of vibration coming through the motor shaft and that's like the best possible way to tell if your motor shafts are starting to get bent and so that's the fingernail test
[00:45:51] you can get a really good feeling for it by just using Turtle mode real quick but with Turtle mode it's also telling you if the propellers are bent up so when you do the turtle mode test you're
[00:46:04] checking the motor shafts and the propellers when you pull the propellers off and do the fingernail test you're only checking the motor shaft so the fingernail test is better but it takes
[00:46:13] more time those are the ways that you keep balanced Motors and props on your tiny whoop it does matter you should not in my opinion though have the tune and the the
[00:46:28] filtering what's happening here so cranked up that the motors and propellers can't be a little bit banged up because tiny whoops crash because you crash your tiny whoops a lot because you're flying them
[00:46:43] inside of the house and it's hard to fly inside the house so there you go ster says was all up weight referencing a three a theoretical hd0 AIO 75mm 102 build ah okay it'll
[00:47:04] be a couple grams heavier than these guys maybe like one one maybe two grams heavier than these guys which is totally fine the here's how I know that that's totally fine the well let's get
[00:47:16] the scale out because we're going down this road anyway these three builds are completely different weights this is a mobul a nice lightweight Mobula 6 build this is going to be the
[00:47:29] lightest this guy is it's also on the smallest Motors 802s versus 102 versus 1102 this guy is 23 gram all right 23 this camera and canopy is very lightweight these two guys are
[00:47:46] on the heavy meteor BetaFPV camera canopy V separate VTX setup so these are going to be significantly heavier so we had 23 gram on on that this is the jungle gym Basher these are test rigs I don't
[00:48:02] really recommend that you build you buy these if you have BetaFPV meteor quads by all means put them into 75 millimet frames the the 75mm setup is going to carry the extra weight of this camera
[00:48:14] canopy VTX much much much better these are these have been fantastic for for testing but the jungle gy Basher the proper jungle gy Basher build fly is way better which is basically the
[00:48:29] proper jungle gy Basher build is a Mobula 7 1S elrs and then you just basically change the propellers change the motors that kind of stuff but these are significantly heavier
[00:48:43] these are a great example of the extra weight that we're going to get from that hd0 AIO right so 23 gram Next Step Up is this on the 102s Jesus that's a lot of extra weight 2 6.75 gram jeez 26.75 and
[00:49:02] then the 1102s bring it up to 28 and a half Jesus these are fat I didn't realize that this camera canopy VTX was quite this heavy 28 and A2 so we're going to be
[00:49:15] going from 23 all the way up to 28 and a half that's a huge weight difference but in reference to the to the hd0 AIO right like the HD zero build will be heavier than this obviously it probably
[00:49:29] won't be as heavy as these as long as I can get it into a Mobula 6 canopy so we'll see we'll see what the camera mounting setup is like we do want to kind of keep that in mind with the
[00:49:39] testing that we're about to do but again it's also the motors these are these are 802s they're the lightest weight then 102s which we gained like 3 and a
[00:49:50] half gr here and I think we gr we gained another gram gram and a half here on the 102s 75 mil rigs are much less sensitive to adding more weight because they make more power and because they're
[00:50:06] kind of sloppy as it is like the response time kind of sucks on these already and so adding a little bit of extra weight you're not going to be you're not going to notice it that much
[00:50:17] the the 65mm rigs we've really dialed the the weight and the response time and all that stuff in so a proper 65mm speaking of let's fly a proper 65mm build I got the
[00:50:33] the motor Bell back together let's see if it was the motor Bell or if it was the Stater on this guy I have one 300mah battery left on a 65mm rig we have that response time the flight
[00:50:47] characteristics really dialed in beautifully adding an extra gram an extra gram and a half is going to is almost certainly going to make a noticeable difference because we have it sort of dialed so
[00:51:00] good on the 75s we're not dialed in As Good there already kind of sloppy so it's going to go from like kind of sloppy to full-blown sloppy and that that's fine right going from like dial
[00:51:13] to somewhat sloppy is is a much bigger jump there so let's fly a 65mm rig real quick those that have been watching the last couple of live streams might be curious as to whether or not the motor
[00:51:28] that I thought had died on this was the stator or the motor Bell so let's answer that question super quick and this is also me brow beating you beautiful bastards into doing your six batteries I
[00:51:41] did put # six batteries into the title of the live stream and so that means that you need to fly six batteries today you goddamn Slackers if you fly six batteries a day
[00:51:53] damn near every day you will transform as a pilot and I want you to transform as a pilot because flying inside the house is really hard but it is amazing once you've figured it out and you can like
[00:52:09] rip inside the house like you won't you'll like barely need to fly outside anymore so let's see this is the this is the rig that I'm going to be calling the ghostly rig from now on
[00:52:21] because it's pretty much all white nope oh nope we're good this is an Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoop on 0702 32,000 KV Motors now with that was a weird little wobble that it just got now
[00:52:41] with GemFan 1219 s propellers previously I'd been running oh [@$#%] previously I'd been running this on the HQ YOLO Tri blades the ultra lights and it was it was great on those
[00:53:01] but it's even better on these 1219 s's this is a little bit more of a pitchy propeller and looking at some of the recent thrust stand tests that have been done on a bunch of different
[00:53:14] propellers the response time of this prop is just as good as the slightly lighter weight and more fragile HQ Tri blades and so we're getting more
[00:53:29] power uhoh that's never a good sign we're getting more power same response time and that's a big win and more durability is the other big thing the durability of the HQ props
[00:53:51] is not bad but it's not as good and durability is super important in my opinion wow okay something's going on so this is more than likely the the battery plug solder joint is starting to let
[00:54:15] go this is the rig that I flew like 25 batteries with at least at castle crash and boy boy that I crashed the [@$#%] out of this thing so it's not totally surprising that it's sort of
[00:54:33] hurting and it needs a little bit of love that that motor was the first thing to let go and now it looks like we got a battery plug letting go so this thing's in in need of a
[00:54:48] little bit more TLC it looks like let me let me see if I can get there's a motor that's not spinning up let me see if I can figure out which one it is real quick it's not happening super often
[00:55:01] looks like it might be the left rear I'm thinking it's the left rear that is not one of the motors that that is not the motor that I fixed I think I fixed the left
[00:55:19] front so when you start to get power loss during crashes the first thing you want to look at is the battery lead I know that sounds weird but it's absolutely true
[00:55:39] and so get your 5x Loop and just literally look at the battery lead and if if the individual strands of wire are starting to break which is the most common sort of failure you'll see it
[00:55:57] the ground lead is fine the live lead I can't even tell they look fine also give them like a little tug just kind of move them around a little bit wires could be failing inside the
[00:56:18] silicone this this rig has one of my old school handmade 180° bt2 0's perfect excuse to take actually what an incredible segue this is I just did a tiny whoop order
[00:56:47] to get these 0703 27,000 KB Motors and there's a new item on Tiny whoop which is a LED for BT 2.0 leads check this [@$#%] out this is a 180 degree LED
[00:57:08] PCB thing look at this so that's what it looks like so you put your BT 2.0 into one set of holes you put your battery leads into the other set of holes you so you're going to do that in this
[00:57:22] direction right the the BT 2.0 is going to come out here battery leads are going to come out here and then so on the back of the Quad you've got a couple of LEDs shining right you're going to have your
[00:57:32] your BT 2.0 lead back there plugged in so you're going to have two rear facing LEDs one of these I got is ice blue and look at the ghostly rig it's going to be perfect for that so I
[00:57:48] will take off these battery leads I will take off this this BT 2.0 connector and do it with these guys I'm GNA do it with these guys there's a dumb set of words that come out of my
[00:58:05] mouth is that cool I don't know what other color I got but I'm kind of excited for these this will be cool one of the problems that I have with tiny whoops is finding them when they crash so any
[00:58:21] any help with that is is a win for me and having a PCB to reverse the direction of the of the BT 2.0 is awesome also it'll help you grab it one one of the one of the things I
[00:58:39] don't like about these handmade setups is they're hard to grab and I end up like pulling this little piece of shrink wrap off with that PCB there it'll be nice to grab I really my favorite at the
[00:58:50] moment are these BetaFPV 180° because they give you a nice big block of like rubbery plastic to grab onto unplug from the battery these little pcbs should do the same thing just give me
[00:59:03] something to kind of hold on to sometimes the battery leads fit really tight in with the BT 2.0 so there's that so the main thing in this mailbag was those the RC
[00:59:16] and power 0703 27,000 but I also got some more 45mm GemFan HQ ultra light by blades these are there's some custom dyed HQ ultralite by blades that I snagged in like this purplish kind of color
[00:59:40] set of custom dyed 1219 s's GemFan 1219 s's in that really cool blue color another couple of those jib Jabs and then the the other color of bt2.0 lead here I'll bet you I'll bet
[00:59:59] you you can solder on the bt2.0 lead and then just plug a battery in to see what color these things are I I don't know there's no markings as to what color either one of these are so I'll try just
[01:00:12] hooking up a BT 2.0 lead and see if that fires it up might not I don't have a terribly great grasp of how electricity works to this day you might need to have a completed circuit I don't
[01:00:27] whatever leave me alone I just work here so this guy is not good to go it needs a little bit of love I'm actually going to put it in that box to remind myself that the fix is going to
[01:00:42] be putting those on there these are still very slowly discharging they get there it gets there like six hours that that battery will be discharged this guy is going to go
[01:00:54] over here I've got a whole bunch of One S 450s ready to go we're going to start flying but let me really quickly try to get caught up on chat FPV Luke says I have a Mobula 6 2024
[01:01:09] running g&b 380 MH batteries on an a30 connector and I'm getting about 3 minutes of flight time on 400 Ms would I get much more flight time on 100 Ms nope but try it and prove it to
[01:01:21] yourself but the answer is no you'll get a couple extra seconds Striker says I use that thing as a discharger l whatever works DX says they haven't given me a price yet but
[01:01:34] it's but it's cost almost as much to buy new ones as it is to send one back so probably not worth it in the future we'll see I hope not 50% is fair strier says fvv Cycles 16 millimet
[01:01:47] probably crazy for heavy three and a half up 330 350 gr it's probably a bit too much to be honest tiny shark says how's the Zing 0803 for the 2S 75mm WalkSnail think it might be good
[01:02:01] especially with the HQ ultral lights I don't know because the WalkSnail VTX died before I could test them but they are they are ready to go they are on a frame all ready to be run I
[01:02:16] just need to get another WalkSnail light in to build them I've got three sep U sorry four I can count I've got four frames with different motors for testing on the WalkSnail 2S rig and I'm
[01:02:30] really looking forward to doing it but got to be able to see where I'm going well I could see where I was going I got to be able to have OSD to look at things like maximum rpm runtime stuff like that
[01:02:42] so stay tuned I'm excited to do that testing Boondock Striker says curious do you think I should get a 10 to 12 amp board to handle 30,000 to 40,000 KV Motors I'm always hearing Racers burning out
[01:02:55] their flight controller after 12 to 20 races it depends 75mm rigs I'm assuming that you're not talking about 75mm rigs because you said 30,000 to 40,000 and so the answer is no Racers
[01:03:11] are not blowing up the flight controllers because the fets don't have enough throughput they are burning them out from crashing them really hard something that's become way more
[01:03:24] obvious lately is that the G string style canopies this style canopy here does not provide any protection for the aiio itself in crashes and so when you crash see how this thing bends
[01:03:45] that's bending the aiio as well one of the things that I one of the beautiful things I that I didn't even realize about the Mobula 6 canopy is that it connects all four points and it's Stout
[01:04:01] and it prevents a lot of that bending like if you look when I bend this it's not bending the center section it's just bending the the ducts themselves right like these and if you want to test that
[01:04:15] just get your hands on one of these canopies and just sit here and try to bend it and when when it's not tied in it's going to be worse but still this has a significant amount of strength
[01:04:27] right because you're like you're basically boxing this frame in this is old school like convertible stuff right you build a car that's a convert you build a regular car and it's
[01:04:41] got a boxed in kind of design it's got a roof line it's got a pillars B pillars C pillars and so the roof and the a pill A and C pillars and then the chassis they all work together
[01:04:56] like a box think of like a shoe box you take a shoe box and you rotate it end to end with no lid on it and it's very floppy you put a lid on the shoe box and you go to do that same thing and it's
[01:05:07] way stronger right it's boxed in there are connection points on all four all eight Corners 1 2 3 four 5 six seven eight yep all on eight all eight Corners these gstring canopies don't do
[01:05:21] a goddamn thing to box these frames in and so you take these frames with the g-ring canopy You Wobble them around they're wobbly as hell you then take one with a proper canopy and You
[01:05:33] Wobble it well it's a different frame but if it were the same frame you can see you can literally see this Mobula 6 canopy holding these points strong because it's boxed in we're we're
[01:05:48] taking these four connection points and we're almost kind of triangulating them up and that's going to make them much stronger whereas most of the racers to save weight are running this style
[01:06:00] canopy some of them are just running the three connection Point canopy up in front and so every single time they crash it is trying to bend their AIO this became really obvious with the new
[01:06:15] beta FPV 5 in1 AIO apparently the damn the front part of the AIO is breaking off from this happening from them nosing in in their crashes and the whole frame tacoing and it's literally breaking
[01:06:32] the front of the AO off the beta must have gone very lightweight to save very thin to save weight on this because this is a super lightweight AO and now we're starting to see the
[01:06:46] limits there and so keep that in mind they are they are breaking those aios I believe primarily because of physical damage not asking the fets to handle too much I've got multiple
[01:07:03] freestyle Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoops I should say on 36,000 KV Motors 32,000 KV Motors what I just flew and there are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of batteries in for those
[01:07:17] hundreds of batteries though I've been using the Mobula 6 canopy I am getting so much more durability out of my comp components than most of the racers I think because of the mobula 6 canopy
[01:07:31] triangulating the frame preventing the AIO I think also that the 2g4 AIO it is I know it's heavier so it's probably thicker and it's probably stronger so tiny whoop dur I'm actually going
[01:07:43] to do a live stream specifically about tiny whoop durability one of these days and just go top to bottom each individual component how you te the fingernail test the turtle mode test
[01:07:55] which props are strong which ones are not which Motors are strong the the diameter of the motor shafts the different frames which frames are strong which frames are not why the carbon
[01:08:06] fiber frames are a terrible idea all the things right there's a million things that we can talk about in terms of durability with tiny whoops I have been ruined just ruined by how durable these
[01:08:22] tiny whoops are when I go out and fly anything else I am shocked at how fragile it is but it's no more fragile than it ever was right like 3-in rigs are no more fragile now than they were a couple of
[01:08:37] years ago when I thought they were the most durable things in the world 5- in rigs are no more fragile now than they were a couple of years ago when I was blown away by how durable all these
[01:08:49] Glides were it's just that for the last like year year and a half two years that I've been really flying tons of tiny whoop batteries these this this formula that I've kind of come up with how to
[01:09:03] build these things it's just really durable and so I am not used to having to change props having to change Motors having to change frames with any sort of frequency like yes it's
[01:09:16] those things are going to have to get changed out but my expectations are now like sure after a couple hundred batteries right you go out and fly a 5-in rig you could change two or three sets of props
[01:09:31] in one battery like so my my barometer for like durability has been completely ruined from from these tiny whoops and that's a good thing that's a really really good thing it's
[01:09:44] really cool to be able to fly 50 batteries in a row and not replace anything not screw around with it just plug the next battery in and go plug the next battery in and go and go and go and
[01:09:56] go and go and all right I'm tired of flying for the night come back the next day do it again come back the next day do it again come back the next day do it again it's been two weeks it's been
[01:10:04] three weeks oh one of these motors is starting to get [@$#%] up oh let's swap it out real quick 10 bucks done good to go back up in the air it's so keep that in mind it's a it's a
[01:10:15] good problem to have Boondock Strikers here's what I will say though I have flown a bunch of B batteries on the sub 250 8031 19000s and I haven't been super impressed so I have a I'm I'm
[01:10:35] very interested to test the zings but I'm not holding my breath I think the motor for 2S WalkSnail 75 is the t-motor 102 19,000 or 18,000 whatever it is I I I think the motor
[01:10:49] size for a 2S WalkSnail 75 is a 102 at 18 or 19,000 motor limited down a little bit but again I've not done much testing I've just I've done enough testing of tiny whoops that I put
[01:11:09] a couple of batteries through the 102s I put a couple of batteries through 0802 20 19000s and I put a couple of batteries through the sub 250 083s and I can just I've just done this
[01:11:22] enough where I can kind of tell I pretty quickly too like like within the first 10 seconds of testing a motor I can usually tell because you learn a lot in the first 10 seconds mainly you learn
[01:11:32] response time which is one of the big things that we're we're going for here so wter says you had mushrooms during dinner I did not I'm actually okay with mushrooms which is great
[01:11:45] Boondock says I ripped my cable off my One S WalkSnail VTX rail I think you meant to say are the cables interchangeable they don't have have any measurements on their website the
[01:11:59] walks snail stuff uses the same cables as the old school DJI there's two different kinds of myy cable there's the kind that hd0 uses and then there's the kind that DJI and WalkSnail use so
[01:12:13] that's what I can tell you you're looking for the DJI style of mppy cable the cable itself is the same same it's the connectors that are different so that's what you're looking for
[01:12:26] and they are interchangeable as long as you get that right one if you get the HD zero cables it will not work it will not plug in Elias says which WalkSnail bind and
[01:12:40] fly would you recommend I don't know any of the BNF's man sorry just look at the motor sizing though we I've talked ad nauseum about motor sizing so look at the different bind and flies
[01:12:51] look at what motors they have and you should know which is the right one because I've tested these motors like absolute crazy Sher says wondering what 75 millim
[01:13:06] Motors I should go for because in my second 802 is are going to be shot I don't know yet we're still testing though Co power says also see hysteria machine oh God I can't even imagine
[01:13:20] ster also says how much power do the 102s have in comparison to the 703 802 you're about to see Walter says BBC has always had the best camera work you must see that for sure but the
[01:13:32] writing of BB of BBC television is just way more sophisticated it's way more like kind of smarky snarky smart humor it's just it's just like better it's just better TV in my in my
[01:13:51] opinion vpro says no sim flying today also what's the all up weight of your 3-in siren it is at 270 265 to 270 and no sim today Sim Sunday is not going to be an every
[01:14:05] Sunday thing it's going to be every other every third something ler says I have Mobula 6 2024 and it Twitches three motors always at full battery voltage sometimes it does it
[01:14:18] in midair and it drops do you have any idea what could cause that ESC is probably on its way out if it wasn't doing that out of the box and you've flown it and crashed it a bunch and it's
[01:14:27] started to do that that's physical damage that's the the the fets starting to let go if it's fairly new try to get in touch with whoever you bought it from and try to get them to send you a
[01:14:37] new one but I mean I have very little info to go off of but that's going to be my guess if you changed a bunch of [@$#%] and now it's doing it whatever you changed is causing it but if you
[01:14:56] got it out of the box and have' just been flying it and that has just started then it has to be a physical thing right like no matter how hard you crash the ones and zeros are not going to fall
[01:15:06] out so it has to be like a physical damage issue and when it comes to physical damage issues like you can't really fix them like if it's a motor sure you can replace the motor but like
[01:15:18] you can't fix the AIO so it's this is a thing that's happening why it's happening doesn't necessarily matter as long as you haven't screwed around with the blue jay settings or the
[01:15:32] the pids Gaines or that kind of stuff right so if it's a physical problem you just have to replace the the physical thing that's failing right King dingling says fear not
[01:15:43] madtech had the hd0 ao5 in a ball sack canopy with a TPU printed adapter and what happened did it did it hold up did it fail strer says I run the Dark Helmet oh that's a great name for this canopy
[01:16:02] oh that's what you're calling the beta canopy okay that's a good name for the BetaFPV that's a better name for the BetaFPV canopy external VT set up weight is worth of
[01:16:11] durability handles crashes super well durability is everything man King digling says I upgraded from fat shark attit attitude v3s to V1 orcas with rapid fire this weekend FB increase
[01:16:25] made the 93 look like a pinch cam nice fov changes are are Wild Zach says what are your thoughts regarding 5 amp fets in the bigger 1S Motors like 102 803 1102 think about meteor 75 Pro HD z
[01:16:38] build new AO 5 in fets are not quite enough for the really powerful 75mm builds unfortunately they are just enough for like 802 27,000 but once you go north of that
[01:16:53] it's a bit of a TR shoot but it's not just the motor size it's also the KV like the the RC and Power 102 2200s yes 102 is a big motor but 22,000 is a lower KV so they seem to be fine on
[01:17:09] the 5 amp fets but I am desperately trying to find a good AO a better AO than the X12 for the 75mm really powerful builds bad says wouldn't that BT 2.0 PCB get snagged a lot in crashes it
[01:17:28] shouldn't because it's fairly well like tucked up in there like when you I know this is not the same rig but all these tiny whoop frames are kind of the same the the battery is pretty well
[01:17:42] tucked up in here so just having a little bit of thickness here should not should not matter we'll see I'll let render says those 180° BT 2.0 are just the standard for me nothing else
[01:17:58] Compares at the moment they're they're the best but these little LED ones could be could take the the crown because the LED is going to make it way easier to find the tiny [@$#%]
[01:18:10] especially like flying the tiny whoops outside and crashing into bushes Jesus are they a pain in the ass to find render says I've killed three Mobula 6 2024 cameras I've moved to the
[01:18:21] beta FPV CO3 and I have zero issues using the new canopy interesting I don't like the CO3 as a camera but durability is King what let me guess you've killed all three of
[01:18:36] those Mobula 6 2024 cameras with them in the HappyModel g string canopy right put those cameras into an old school mulus 6 canopy I bet you they last forever fbv Luke says I think the RC and
[01:18:55] power 14,000 are the best motor for 2S I disagree anything higher will likely require a motor limit which keeps the M fits active for longer will increase failure rate SL heat 14,000 KV is not
[01:19:06] quite enough in my opinion and I have run way too high KV Motors on motor limits for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of batteries and had absolutely no problem whatsoever so for me a
[01:19:21] little bit of a little bit of a motor limit is a really good thing an 18,000 or 19,000 KV motor on a 2S 75mm WalkSnail rig will need like an 80 to 85% motor limit which is not that
[01:19:34] much so for me and then there will be a point where if you need more power you can turn it up in there the 14,000 KV Motors are never going to have quite enough power and I'm just
[01:19:46] done with that I'm just so over 75mm walk nail tiny whoops not having enough power but to each his or her own I I want more power than most people and so I wish there was
[01:20:02] 16,000 or a 177,000 KV motor but again you would then be for me I would be 100% on that motor and I always like to have a little bit more in case there's a situation where I want that
[01:20:15] extra power I can just turn it up digitally and a way we go all that being said I've still not been able to test the 2S 75mm WalkSnail all that much cuz things keep
[01:20:26] breaking so maybe as I put 100 200 batteries through it the that situation will change but thus far 14,000 KV even 15,000 KV is not enough but again that's just me robox says
[01:20:43] hd0 motor twitch equals motor plugs very true motor twitching can be because of the motors I just assume that everybody knows this which is a terrible thing when you have Motors
[01:20:56] that are twitching when you have a motor that's twitching and another motor that's not twitching you need to switch those Motors that is a an instantaneous way of figuring out if the motor is the
[01:21:08] problem or if the ESC is the problem so whoever I was talking to about whoever's question I was answering about the motors I forgot to mention that again I I
[01:21:18] just do this thing where I assume that everybody knows that because I talk about it a lot but these live streams are are awful long and it's hard to get all the info out of all of them so
[01:21:28] there you go thank you for the reminder Rob Robert roster says are you impressed with the hd0 AO board I think the whole whoop without battery is 19 grams very impressed
[01:21:41] I I I can't I'm still I don't get it I don't understand how they did it I have no idea how they squeezed 225 by 25 pcbs worth of chips onto one that seems absolutely insane to me but apparently
[01:21:55] they did I seriously like will not believe it until it's physically in my hands it's I just I don't I don't get it I don't get how they did it Striker says any goggle recommendations for Value
[01:22:06] maybe sub 250300 none whatsoever I don't really get to test any goggles so it would just be me like looking at a picture and being like those look cool Joshua Bardwell luckily tests most
[01:22:18] goggles so check his channel FV Luke says I AB absolutely agree with you 14,000 000 is not not quite enough I haven't done as much testing as you but the increased heat was a concern of
[01:22:31] mine thanks for testing it you're certainly welcome 2S weirdly the the increase in voltage of not weirdly this is how it works 2S seems to be running cooler on these 75mm rigs which
[01:22:47] makes sense the higher voltage will generate less amps and amps are heat so I've had zero heat problems with the the 2S walks no rig it's everything else that's
[01:22:57] exploded most of which has been my own fault so vpro says I've broken the new Mobula 6 camera in the old Mobula 6 canopy in under 20 batteries [@$#%] I was crashing hard trying to do Power
[01:23:13] loops and emman indoors for the tiny whoop the Tyrant Pro whoop challenge I mean I've broken RunCam Nano 3s when I've been like really pounding the rig
[01:23:35] so I don't know cameras breaking is tough the fact that these cameras can put up with any of the [@$#%] that we put them through is a is an absolute Miracle so when a camera breaks I'm like
[01:23:48] well it's worth it cameras are like really sensitive things they've got an obscene an obscenely finely tuned CCD in them which like and then we smash it into stuff and it's I've always been
[01:24:07] blown away that they last as long as they do hang on I gota blow my nose all right here we go I'm caught up on chat let's fly some batteries let test some Motors Let's do all the
[01:24:27] things I meant to I meant to be sitting here installing these 0 703s on a frame but instead I I just enjoyed the process of hanging out with you guys and answering your
[01:24:46] questions so hold on skull 91 says what part of Jersey did you live I was born in Princeton New Jersey in 1981 and that's when all it all changed that's when the
[01:25:07] world that's back when my dad was working at Princeton plasma physics lab I he worked there for many many years but I was born there I lived there for a little bit and
[01:25:21] then we moved to Hamilton in Township which is right next to Trenton New Jersey and I spent most of my life there like that's where I went to school and spent most of my time and
[01:25:36] then when I graduated high school I moved on campus to the college in New Jersey also known as which at the time I knew as Trenton State College my mom worked there for a lot of years
[01:25:53] eventually my dad work there as well which was super cool and then when I got done with college I moved down to that doesn't look good that's fine I moved down to
[01:26:08] Maple Shade which is right next to Cherry Hill right across the river from Philadelphia and I liveed there for many years so I've kind of been all over New Jersey but mainly like
[01:26:19] Central Southern New Jersey I never lived in North Jersey but I lived in New Jersey from birth to like 33 years old I think it was like 33 or 32 or 31 when I moved down to
[01:26:33] Charleston South Carolina I lived there for about five years and then moved even farther south not much farther but to here in Atlanta Georgia okay so I got these here
[01:26:51] Motors I need some screws hold up I've now taken all my tiny whoop stuff and put it into a little case thing which is nice I can't believe it took this long to do that but
[01:27:09] uh so I'm a little bit more organized boy I cannot see one two three four five six seven eight man counts nine man proves that he can count
[01:27:44] 10 11 12 I'm being fancy and using black screws is anybody else out there is anybody else out there as much of a snob as I am when it comes to Tiny whoop screws like I don't I don't
[01:28:10] love running tiny whoop screws that are silver on like a gray or black frame I did not need to get these screws out because I'm going to actually just move these motors over anybody else does
[01:28:30] anybody else like covet their black tiny whoop screws or is that my mental illness showing itself HappyModel comes with silver motor screws and I hate them I hate them I
[01:28:51] hate them I don't even like them on the on the clear frames I hate I hate hate Richard Hammond Richard Hammond from Top Gear it's like one of my favorite moments in all 20 plus seasons of the real
[01:29:11] original Top Gear and The Grand Tour I can't remember I can't remember what he was saying that he hates but the the other two were like giving him a hard time about something
[01:29:24] that they knew that he hated and he just like he just completely goes off and he's like I just I hate it I and you could see like he's not acting like he's really upset and he's just like and
[01:29:38] it's just this wonderful like 30 second Hammond rant of just like I hate it I hate I hate that I hate it stupid face and I hate it stupid and he's like freaking out and it's one of my
[01:29:50] favorite moments from from those three guys in years and years and years and decades I guess they they made they made Top Gear and grand tour for literally decades the reason I'm
[01:30:11] talking about this right now is that there's a one more Grand Tour coming and then that's it and the guys are done and boy does that make me feel old because I discovered Top Gear very early
[01:30:28] very very early early days of the internet there was a video floating around from in this country of Jeremy Clarkson testing for the the the the line that like you'll probably remember
[01:30:47] is testing Ferraris to destruction how on Earth do you get a GI J like this and it's Jeremy Clarkson talking about Ferrari's in-house test car driver and I believe he was driving a
[01:31:05] 550 marinell which is one of my favorite cars of all time front Eng front engined V12 manual Ferrari t Grand Touring style Ferrari big comfy but amazing and it's got a
[01:31:25] fire suppression system and the car overheats or something and the fire suppression system goes off and the hood blows up is is the video that you're watching while Jeremy says those things
[01:31:39] and I I remember when I first I was in college when I saw that so we're talking like 2000 2001 2002 and I remember seeing it and being like Oh my God that's the funniest thing ever I
[01:31:53] got to figure out what this is and that was where my obsession with Top Gear began I figured out that that was Jeremy Clarkson and that Top Gear was the show and y y and this is back in the
[01:32:04] days of this before torrent this is back in the days of like Napster and that kind of [@$#%] and I forget it's was Napster which was like the audio Torrance right and then there
[01:32:18] was what was right after Napster that introduced video to the mix what was that called I forget what it was but whatever that was with enough digging you were able to Lime wire that's it good call
[01:32:33] lime wire yep FL engineer says not gonna lie got Misty watching Grant tour last night did it was it on last night I didn't watch it I I didn't pay attention to the
[01:32:47] release date is it out is it up and that is is where my I was already obsessed with cars and that was where my obsession with Top Gear and those three guy I mean it's
[01:33:10] Clarkson Hammond and may you guys know they're just Mega absolutely Mega just three friends that they're chemistry just everything about them was just hysterical and they made
[01:33:28] something phenomenal and one of my favorite things that about them that not a lot of people know is that if they were going to work on car related content they were a three-person package
[01:33:41] or it was either all three of them or or it was none of them and that's one of the reasons they stayed together so long like they realized that the their chemistry is like the brand it's is
[01:33:54] their chemistry together is the magic and I'm and they they got lots of offers over the years individually to do correlated stuff and they just wouldn't and they would say like you
[01:34:05] know sure if you want to hire all three of us all three of us will do it but it's were a package deal and they stayed a package deal forever even when Jeremy punched his producer in the
[01:34:17] face and got fired the BBC wanted to just fire Jeremy and the other two were like nope it's all of us or none of us and it ended up being none of them but still that that is like such
[01:34:33] a defining thing I mean like a it's brilliant that they were able to realize that but B like they they stuck up for each other it wasn't just like a business decision it was like no like we
[01:34:44] are we are a team and each one of them individually could have made way more money not stick together and they would have probably done totally fine and they
[01:34:57] they they have individually done stuff Richard did wipe out for many years each one of them have done phenomenal work individually but not correlated work they're they're
[01:35:10] incredible presenters and so I've got a I've got a folder on a on a hard drive with almost 300 gigs of everything that I've ever been able to find that those three have done and
[01:35:28] it's not super up to date there's probably some newer stuff that I don't have in there but it's pretty much everything it's and it's pretty fun man they they're they're quite The
[01:35:40] Talented Trio all right got these motors success I stalled long enough to get these motors on here all right now we're actually going to start flying we're going to go
[01:35:53] from lightest weight right up the right up the glip glop so first off we're going to start with the 23 gram dry I think it was Jungle gim Basher this is a sort of a jungle gim Basher this is a
[01:36:08] 2g4 AIO Mobula 6 canopy RunCam nano3 these are the ow 802 27,000 they're actually 30,000 but whatever I'm going to motor limit these what's the motor limit that I need to bring them a
[01:36:22] [@$#%] it no they're 30 ,000 it's fine you'll live GemFan 1610 props BT 2.0 old school BetaFPV 450mah batteries which are actually totally fine these old 450s if you can
[01:36:38] find these cheap get them I I can't tell a difference between these and the lavas or the wee beds I think these are they're nice and flat so I think they're folded cell these these
[01:36:47] batteries are fine only get these if there's a good deal on them though because they've been sitting around for a while so the the lava batteries or the Weeble 450s or the tiny whoop 450s they're
[01:37:02] going to be a fresher battery all right 802 30,000 lightweight analog 75 here you go this is still I think my favorite setup in terms of jungle JY Basher you got the one and
[01:37:29] a half millimeter motor shaft they're the 802s are pretty lightweight you got a lot of KV 27,000 it's a good setup come on Els that's the sound that I wanted to hear you were static because of low
[01:37:54] power until first arm here we go so I was just flying that 65mm rig whoa you're going to notice that this footage is a lot smoother I think I might have a little bit too much pit game going oh I
[01:38:15] got a lot of pit game there let's just back that off a little bit you're going to notice a lot well you don't really notice the response time but but you notice like
[01:38:27] like the snappiness of the yaw stuff what I want you to kind of pay attention to is how accurately how accurately we're able to do these more difficult tricks man these
[01:38:49] motors they don't make that much power oh great so the core temperature warning is because these are 30,000 KV hold on I am going to motor limit these down a little bit we don't really need
[01:39:02] this 30,000 where the hell is the motor limitting I forget I thought it was in miscellaneous could have sworn it was in motor miscellaneous there it is motor output limit so let's bring these down
[01:39:20] to 90% And I bet you that core warning goes away riding that roof line and it it's a little different but it's is not drastically different 802s are
[01:39:46] your lightweight motor option for 75mm rigs they're totally fine they're not as good as the bigger Motors in terms of like response time and FL flate characteristics and whatnot
[01:40:05] but they're pretty good and it's cool cuz you can get them in one and a half mil motor shaft it's just it's a different Jesus it's a different flight style than 65s you got to really really be earlier you
[01:40:25] got to be earlier on the throttle you got to be earlier on the sticks and as you can see the core temperature warning is now gone so the 802
[01:40:38] 27,000 are like the move for a 5 amp fet of course as I say that it comes right back I I can see some Jello these props are either banged up or these motors might be banged up there's
[01:40:52] some wobbles and bobbles here and there th this rig has been beaten hard and often and so I'm not totally surprised and as you can see that core temperature warning is coming and going it's not
[01:41:11] continuing to raise up it's turning on when I really start to hammer on it and use a lot of Full Throttle run time is pretty good we're at like 2 and a half minutes already
[01:41:24] so 2 minutes and 43 batter's bouncing back up it'll get to 3.7 pretty quick here we'll probably go up a little bit higher than that so
[01:41:39] 802 basically 27,000 that's what that's what you're going to get absolutely nothing wrong with them but they're not like they're not going to light your hair on fire
[01:41:54] but a good solid choice of motor plug them in screw them down and go next up we're going to go to 102 22,000 actually hold on let me let me spin these motors up in my hand to
[01:42:14] see if I can feel that one of these propellers is banged up or one of these motors is maybe banged up so this is the this is a test that you should do every few batteries with a tiny whoop as
[01:42:26] far as I'm concerned flip it into Turtle mode hold the quad in your hand arm it and just gently gently spin each motor up the gy needs to calibrate it's
[01:42:40] pissed now we're good gently spin each motor up individual Motors and just feel for the vibrations coming through your fingers so motor two that's fine motor one is not great motor four is
[01:43:00] fine both of the rear ones are a little banged up it's motor one motor one or the prop on motor one is is banged up and that's it I going to tell you the the health of each one just spin each
[01:43:15] motor up don't spin it don't spin it all the way up you don't get any vibrations up top there you get all the vibrations at like the lower RPMs so just gently just like you're hearing me
[01:43:28] doing just a little bit this is full this is where you want to be right not up here that doesn't tell you anything and you'll you'll feel it when you spin it up you'll feel that at
[01:43:38] lower RPMs there's more there's more vibration there but the Workhorse is our testing rig now we're going to go up to the RC and Power 102 22000 and here we
[01:44:02] go different camera different canopy different VTX heavier this rig is significantly heavier so it is at a disadvantage there but the motors are significantly bigger 102 versus
[01:44:20] 02 teleport FPV has tiny B full of the black screws he feels me bad says black frames you must have black screws else the wood whoop Gods will strike you down first battery
[01:44:33] fbv unknown says mad tech review on hd0 nice I can't wait to watch that I'll watch that after Jesse's Mor upshot says I lived in Willingboro when I was a kid long ago very cool willing
[01:44:42] Willingboro was up in North Jersey we used to our our jazz band used to always no wait no I guess Willingboro wasn't that far north our jazz band used to get our asses kicked by the will bur
[01:44:53] jazz band when I was in high school mcus says are you familiar with the band home Blitz from Princeton I'm not no I was too young when I lived in Princeton Titan says would you recommend 36,000 KV
[01:45:03] or 40 for 65mm freestyle whoop for most people the 36s are probably all you'll ever need it's an awful lot of power all right so instantaneous impressions are that these are obviously
[01:45:18] a lower KV motor the hover point the point is higher which is like such a dead giveaway but okay and so the the I'm hitting the bottom of these Gates I want you to notice that there we
[01:45:41] go when I'm hitting the bottom of a gate it's either just me flying like ass or I'm flying a rig with less power right I'm doing the same thing on the sticks but it's but it's making less power and
[01:45:57] so it's not getting up as high enough so with these motors what what's interesting about these motors is that they're able to control the propeller better from like a grunt
[01:46:11] standpoint and so they're able to change the speed of the propeller better right it's a bigger it's a bigger Stater this is like a this is is like a 5
[01:46:25] L V8 versus a 3 l V6 right but without the KV they don't so they these motors will spin up faster but then they won't spin to as high of an RPM so it's super interesting
[01:46:52] because like the response time kind of feels better like it feels more crispy here when I'm doing stuff because it's able to it's able to speed up the prop and slow down the prop a little bit quicker
[01:47:08] but then what's super weird is that when you when you stay in the throttle so for example right on on these moves like this the response time is better these are small movements
[01:47:23] it's only accelerating the prop a little bit to do this especially on y'all right like look how Snappy that is but it doesn't have the higher KV so and small throttle Jabs like this same deal
[01:47:38] it's quicker but then when I hold the throttle it doesn't spin up it doesn't continue to accelerate which is a super weird it's a super weird comparison between these two
[01:47:53] things but it's a great comparison between them because the KV and the Stater volume are two completely different things and they they show up in two completely different scenarios
[01:48:07] and so so you see the run time is also lower it's a heavier rig and these are heavier Motors that's sort of to be expected this camera canopy VTX though are hurting the
[01:48:30] runtime for sure if I've run these motors on very similar builds to this before and believe it or not these motors will get pretty much the same runtime as the 802s mainly because they're a lower
[01:48:47] KV the 80227 thousands are a lighter weight motor but they're a higher KV so every time you go Full Throttle for more than like a half a second and these motors spin up to a higher RPM than
[01:49:04] these 102 2200s can these motors will eat more power but then when you're just cruising around these motors are lighter weight so they'll use less power so depending on how you fly you'll get
[01:49:16] different run times but the long and short of it is 802 27,000 versus 1022 2000s you will get very similar run times from the 102s will cruise around better and you'll get more runtime if
[01:49:30] you just Cruise them around the 802s you'll get more runtime if I'm sorry the 802s you'll get more runtime if you Cruise them around the 102s you'll get more runtime if you spend more time full
[01:49:41] throttle because at Full Throttle these are only 22,000 KV these are 27 so at Full Throttle these are these are will continue to wind up more this will also be a faster rig if you sit this thing at
[01:49:55] Full Throttle it'll use that extra RPM and it'll travel faster but it'll eat more battery when you do that so that's the the main difference between 102 22,000 and 802
[01:50:09] 27,000 last but not least BetaFPV 1102 22,000 an even bigger motor it's not that much heavier though amazingly but bigger slightly heavier motor oddly enough as you're about to see it's a pretty
[01:50:29] efficient motor we'll we will probably get roughly the same runtime with this setup all right and then we will do the we will swap one of these over into the other frame I think I'm going to
[01:50:48] move it I think I'm going to move the 2g4 over I think I'm GNA move the 2g4 over I think about that for a second though here we go BetaFPV 1102 22000 so now we've
[01:51:09] got another level of response time same same KV 22,000 so when I when I sit on Full Throttle it's the same kind of deal where it's like it accelerates quickly and then it like
[01:51:34] plateaus so the the the same kind of situation where the response time is really good but you can just feel like when I do the all right so that's a perfect example the the the the
[01:51:49] mega power Loop is a great example of this because I oh boy it don't sound good something's something ain't right something mate right who hurt you little
[01:52:13] guy who hurt you it sounds terrible all of a sudden Turtle mode arm it spin each motor up individually oh boy right rear is mad at life motor number one is jacked up that's what it's
[01:52:31] supposed to sound like motor one is wrecked what what's what's happening with you is this a propeller problem or is this a motor problem it's a propeller problem the one
[01:52:48] blade is bent way up let's try to bend it back usually these don't love being bent back no not happy try that that's a little bit better but it's still it's still upset with the
[01:53:19] world we're just going to run it though I got to Bent back straight enough where I don't think it's affecting the flight characteristics that much I know
[01:53:33] it's no no it ain't happy the hover point is like 50% throttle right now it's pissed let me swap that propeller out real quick to get as Fair of a test as we can
[01:53:51] here I don't want to Stack the deck in in favor of the other ones these are all 5 amp FedEd esc's and as you can see these lower KV Motors are not hitting the the ESC so hard that
[01:54:11] we're getting core temperature warnings right that's because of the KV it's because these are lower KV Motors is every single propeller in here clockwise only when I need a
[01:54:26] counterclock there we go all right fresh propeller going on although hold on let me drill it out a little bit okay good to go and all right one more second you guys will have video back there we
[01:54:48] go okay back up buddy back it up good boy much better okay great Jesus as these things get heavier they get significantly harder to fly because they're carrying so much
[01:55:18] extra mass oh my god I've bent another one of the propellers I don't know if you guys can see it but there's nasty vibration up Full Throttle
[01:55:47] something ain't right oh God so no core temperature warning but so the the the 1102s are very similar to the 102s a little bit more grunt a little bit more weight on an analog
[01:56:06] rig like this I don't necessarily think it makes sense to go all the way up to the 1102s the the meteor 75 Pro with the bigger propellers the bigger heavier frame 100% 112s
[01:56:22] but a regular 75mm rig I think the 102s are are the move I don't really see much if any Improvement on the 1102s that's worth like the extra weight I guess I didn't check the the runtime just now
[01:56:35] but I'm excited to get the the RC and powers on what can I say I didn't run the battery down as low so any run time that you got at the end of that is going to be a little bit jacked up sorry my
[01:56:52] bad bad I shouldn't have pulled it off early let's move the 703 27,000 let me give these motors the best chance to shine and I'm going to move the the mobula
[01:57:13] 7 the Mobula 6 basically the 2g4 over into that into that frame with those Motors so now we're going to be going to RC and power 703 27,000 the the the major question mark is going to be
[01:57:32] around runtime we might be in a situation where like we're less than two minutes and that's not that ain't it I think we'll be okay I think we'll be at like two and
[01:57:44] a half minutes but you never know try to get caught up on chat while I'm doing this MC mucus says are you familiar with oh no we got that render says I legitimately keep my
[01:58:14] longer black screws for everything and Chuck them in my lathe and make them shorter for the Cockroach oh my God that's awesome stop doing that though I have a I have a ton of those shorter
[01:58:30] black cockroach screws I'll I'll gladly sell you a bunch I've been throwing them in to giveaway packages because I have so many of
[01:58:48] them newbie drone has sent me a lot of those frames very very kind of them all right here comes the 2g4 I also am doing it this way because this 2g4 was giving me the core
[01:59:04] temperature warnings so it might be like a more beat up older AO than the C the BetaFPV cross style ones that are in those other two builds I just flew and I want to know that I want to know
[01:59:17] if these motors are causing a core temperature warning even if it's a beat up AIO it was giving me that core temperature warning here and there for the 0702 sorry for the 0802
[01:59:36] 32,000 and so I'm super curious if it's going to be better or worse on these 703 27,000 so let's find out get in there all right motor plug is through sorry not motor plug battery
[01:59:58] plug and dropping it down onto the posts there we go I had this thought the other day check this out tiny whooping is the future of FPV is it
[02:00:24] not there will almost certainly be a day that FPV becomes somewhat illegal but the FAA don't control the airspace inside your house bro and so for real tiny whooping is the future
[02:00:44] of FPV I cannot possibly see a world that tiny whoops will get full-blown I think we can all see a world where at the very least 5in rigs right like like if we're
[02:01:03] lucky when it gets banned the ban will be everything above 250 grams I have a funny feeling they'll just ban everything at some point just can't fly FPV outside too
[02:01:17] many delivery drones in the airspace or something really bad happened hopefully it's too many delivery drones right and so tiny whooping legitimately almost guaranteed is the
[02:01:34] future of FPV Welcome To The Future my friends enjoy we will be some of the we will be the ogs that'll be kind of cool won't be worth it though I hope hope that I I I hope that drone based
[02:01:54] delivery never takes off other than in like a medical sense CU for medical supplies it can literally save lives but from like a I got to order this this this scarf on on Amazon and I need it by
[02:02:10] this afternoon because my life will be over come on come on now [@$#%] out of here with that I need my Postmates delivered in the sky right now cuz I'm
[02:02:29] hungry I need my Sushi my life will be over your life's going to be over but it's going to be because I cut your [@$#%] head off I am going to run this on the HQ ultr
[02:02:51] light no I'm very tempted to run it on the HQ ultral light by blades because let it's a 1 mm motor shaft let's get the advantage from the 1 mm motor shaft but I am very
[02:03:07] curious to just compare these motors to the other ones that I just tested so I'm actually not going to do that right now I am going to do that after this stream almost certainly but
[02:03:20] for right now I'm going to run them on 1 mm motor shaft GemFan 1610 to totally level the playing field and compare Motors to Motors rather than comparing best case scenario to best
[02:03:37] case scenario I really hope that at some point well those don't really fit on there all that well I really hope that at some point HQ comes out with this 1.6 mil 1.6 in rather ultra light
[02:03:55] byblade in 1 and a half mm motor shaft boy would that be nice wow these motor shafts might be slightly undersized because these props are just falling onto
[02:04:15] them let me try some slightly more fresh 1610 nope wow they just fall onto those huh okay hold on so when a propeller is too loose for a motor shaft here's how you fix
[02:04:40] it which I just did and it made it a little bit better but I got to do it again sometimes you have to do this two or three times take your least favorite sharp tipped
[02:04:49] tweezers and put them diagonally into the hole in the propeller and just scrape it around what you're trying to do is dig into the plastic because when you dig into
[02:05:03] plastic on the left and right of what you're digging into it's going to raise the plastic and that's what you're trying to do here so you're making it worse where you're digging in but you're
[02:05:15] making it better on the sides of that spot that you're digging in the material has to go somewhere plastic is a pretty dense material just be careful when you're doing that to not
[02:05:26] let it fall out and stab you in the finger it hurts like hell and so now we're good that'll hold on just enough but I will say that it this these RC and power motor shafts seem
[02:05:43] to be ever so slightly smaller than 1 mm cuz these props here were on another motor I'm going to guess these were on the VCI 0703 that I flew a bunch and so that works really well
[02:06:04] again sometimes you have to do it a couple times just I have to do it again on that one there should be a little bit of resistance when you put the propeller down in the motor shaft if
[02:06:15] there's like too Little Resistance it's just going to pop off so there is this sort of sweet spot you should never be like really musling a propeller down though onto a motor that is a great
[02:06:28] way to ruin that motor okay that's a little bit better but that's still probably too loose I I just I'm going to keep going you do have to push kind of hard on the fine tip tweezers as hard as you
[02:06:50] dare because boy does it hurt and bleed when they pop out of there and stab you okay let's see how that is Dexter says what do you think about dual gyro Stacks it's cool
[02:07:14] from a from a reliability standpoint when when one of the Gyros goes you just turn it off and turn the other one on so in that respect it's cool that's about it though doesn't do
[02:07:26] anything for flight performance but Gyros are a thing that does fail here's the thing though the other gyro is on board the whole time so the other gyro is taking all the same abuse as the the initial
[02:07:42] one that's turned on and so it's not like the gyro being powered up is is is the reason why it's failing it's failing because we smash these things into brick walls at 80 M
[02:07:57] hour which generates a massive shock load and so it helps a little bit but there will be a situation where you turn that other gyro on and it's blown up too I guess is what I'm trying to
[02:08:18] say so if there were two flight controllers one with one gyro one with two Gyros and the one with two Gyros was like $20 more expensive I would not spend the extra $20 on it if it was like
[02:08:29] a $5 difference okay but I would not spend 15 20 25 extra dollars on a flight controller with a second gyro all right this one prop was just not
[02:08:50] quite tight enough and it still isn't what the hell's going on why can't I get this one to fit on their tight come on now try putting both tips in
[02:09:12] there your other option is to take like a pin and put the tiniest little bit of super glue inside of the prop hole and then let it dry you got to let it dry don't super glue the props onto the
[02:09:28] motors you will not have a good day getting them off but the residue from the super glue is like like this and so it kind of grabs and it gives it that grip that it needs the only problem
[02:09:39] with doing that is you take that prop off and on a couple times it'll push all that superglue residue out and you have to do it all over again I got to get this into BetaFlight and get these
[02:09:48] motors spinning the right direction and then we will fly the RC and power 0703 27,000 KV murders murderous murders here we go and I'm going to spin these things up to full blast to see if these props
[02:10:16] rip off Zoe says I did an empty load test no prop Max throttle on BetaFlight with 30,000 KB 802 10 [@$#%] Motors reached 83,000 RPM Max in all four when I just swapped to RC and power I got the
[02:10:35] same RPM yep that is because the ESC cannot spin the motors up to 8 bit esc's which is what all tiny whoops have cannot spin the motors up beyond that 83,000 you have to do the test with
[02:10:50] the props on to bring the RPM down we can't test these motors unloaded on an 8 bit yes see all right let's get these guys spinning in the right direction one is
[02:11:08] wrong two is wrong they're all going to be wrong three is wrong they're all wrong but now they're all still wrong [@$#%] this this aiio for some reason does not reverse
[02:11:30] the motors it's on BetaFlight 4.5 and everything it should be fine but it's not I don't understand it's makes no sense at all but there's not a whole hell of a lot I can do about
[02:11:49] it so I will have to reverse them the old school way all right normal reversed revers normal revers normal normal reversed right settings does take that long not too
[02:12:11] bad all right we're ready same pids same everything as the 0802 27,000 they might be a little too aggressive we'll find out in a second here we go my friends RC and
[02:12:29] power 703 27,000 on a 75mm rig that's at like I don't remember what the dry weight was was it 24 26 24 26 Elias says do WalkSnail 65mm binder flies even exist I wouldn't think so fpb
[02:12:50] unknown says WalkSnail sucks not true WalkSnail is an amazing video system is it perfect nope is anything in FPV perfect nope why don't I have video that's
[02:13:10] odd oh low power until first St of course wrong module right module here we go there it is oh a little bit of weirdness there for a second but that has cleared up
[02:13:51] so we've already got a core temperature warning not a good sign it is going up fast holy [@$#%] okay hold on hold on wow okay not a good sign not a good sign oh man the motor
[02:14:12] out output limit is already down at 90% go down to 80 back up buddy thank you all right let's just chill for a second oh boy there's a whole bunch of jello happening nope it's getting hot
[02:14:32] again oh it's getting way too hot okay nope nope NOP nope nope nope nope NOP NOP NOP nope nope nope that's a big no let me make sure these props are balanced somewhat
[02:14:47] balanced I'm in Turtle mode here what are one 's fine two's got a little bit but three is fine the prop on motor 4 is is a little suspect let me let me change that out I
[02:15:06] I want to make sure it's not boy is that is that not a good sign though yikes okay well not look great for these Motors High left clockwise let take this prop out of here
[02:15:31] oh that's like a fresh prop there I'm not going to butcher that name thanks for the subscription name that us cheeseburger eating hot dog Americans can't pronounce thank you dude welcome to the
[02:15:48] madness let's see if this prop is going to stay on I think it's fine there a brand new propeller on on that motor 4 that was a little suspect let's give it a little
[02:16:04] feel that's better now I can really tell how out of balance the the propeller on motor 2 is though but that was the worst offender so let's put it back up in the air and see what's going on with the
[02:16:19] core temperature warning I'm flying through OBS at the moment come on goggles all right nope it's com back up nope okay right well they also
[02:16:58] don't seem to make all that much power they're not that bad here's what I'll say about them they're very similar to the 802s in that they wind up if you sit them at Full Throttle for long enough
[02:17:18] and you do get more power and speed than the 102s and the 1102s that are 22,000 but the response time still the response time sucks like the 802s it doesn't suck but it's not as good
[02:17:35] so these ain't it but let's try one quick thing which is going to be to put the HQ ultral light by blades on I've found a lot almost all of these new HQ props to be beautifully well
[02:18:00] balanced and that's going to help this scenario that we're in right here so hold on let's throw four of these at it and see what's what this is also going to help the response time
[02:18:15] situation I need one more High left there we go all right so this is a brand new set of these ultral lights hopefully they fit these motor shafts okay oh they're a little too
[02:18:34] tight okay no let's not do that for the record if you have one of these prop poppers use it every time don't pull propellers off with your fingers anymore it puts too much stress
[02:18:48] on the motor shafts your M will last so much longer if you use a prop popper every single time because the prop popper pushes on the motor shaft as it's pulling on the
[02:19:03] propeller so there is no impact on the joint between the motor Bell and the propeller which is where the motors fail and so don't be lazy and not pick the prop popper up that's sitting
[02:19:19] to your left and just muscle the propeller off like I have a tendency to do use it every time all right so these motor shafts might not be undersized because I'm having
[02:19:35] to hit this propeller with the 099 millimeter drill bit a second time here to open it up a little bit so I think these motor shafts are just right it's just that those 1610s that I was putting on to it
[02:19:51] we're kind of old and beat I might as well do all four of these real quick Jonathan Allen says I have an X12 Mobula 7 based whoop that used to have the RunCam split currently
[02:20:02] running on RC and power 802 27000 what I be better off swapping on BetaFPV 1102 22000 everything that I've just talked about is the answer to that Jonathan I can't make that decision for
[02:20:19] you but I just gave you the most detailed best possible review on those 802 27000 the HappyModel versions but they're going to be very very similar versus the 1102 22000 so if
[02:20:35] you didn't see it just rewind back to when I was flying those things and I I I tell you what each one of them does good what what it's all there that's the best I can do I I can't make this
[02:20:50] decision for you it's not my decision to make what I fly is going to be different than what you guys fly I I have a completely different flight style than anyone else as do you you have a
[02:21:01] completely different flight style than everybody else and so some questions just sort of a lot of these questions just sort of can't be answered and shouldn't be
[02:21:13] answered you should not listen to a stranger on the internet say you have to buy this motor you should listen to a stranger on the internet say here's what this motor does well here's what it does
[02:21:26] not so well sometimes we can say like here's the type of person that this motor would be perfect for but like that's injecting a bunch of our
[02:21:39] opinion and I I and so that's tough but rewind a little bit and reviewed a very similar 0802 27000 your RC and power 802 27000 probably makes a little bit more
[02:22:02] power than the HappyModel one a little bit less runtime a little bit more power but I was actually running the 30,000 KV 702 802 so it's probably super similar here you go HQ
[02:22:15] ultralite buys this will be better the response time will be better power might even be better because it's going to let them spin up a little bit quicker because they're lighter and they're going to be better
[02:22:31] balanced so they might not get that core temperature warning going but let's see man they're quieter Jesus well also I have these motor limited down I'm going to take that
[02:22:50] motor Lim off let me go put these at 100% cuz 27,000 KV is awesome for these 75mm rigs there's the motor out limit all right let's push it all the way up to 100 there we
[02:23:14] go okay oh I think I've got some oh no there it is again okay it's very hard to fly right now I think there's a lot of I think the pit Loop's freaking out basically well the battery is now
[02:23:42] dead the the hover point is really low high KV Motors are kind of annoying because the hover Point gets really low you can you can help that a little bit with throttle Expo but this is
[02:23:55] why you don't want to go too high of a KB all right fresh battery let's see how this is oh there we go there's the power that I want oh there's the response time that I want
[02:24:20] too there's the core temperature warning that I don't want though oh it's getting so hot a let's try this let's [@$#%] the pids easiest way to [@$#%] the pids is just
[02:24:42] to grab the master multiplier and just pull it way the hell down all right let me just chill for a second see if it comes down nope still going up nope man
[02:25:24] what a shame on an X12 this would probably be fine all right so I've now just taken a whole bunch of RPM out let's see if that helps nope wow
[02:25:51] wow okay well can't run them on a 5 amp AO that's for damn sure I don't have any aios that are north of 5 amps so I can't test these any further until I get the replacement until I get the X12 to
[02:26:09] replace the stupid hglrc Spectre esc's but absolutely no shot running these RC and power 703 27,000 on on a 5 amp AO this is not the freshest 5 amp AO but I just crippled
[02:26:35] the pids and motor limited it down to 80% and it's still it's still getting hot fast like that's the the no that was getting really hot really fast let me let me just bring these
[02:26:55] pids back up and bring this motor output if you remember on the 802 30,000 it would pop that motor temperature warning up here and there and then I would chill out for a second
[02:27:13] and it would go away and then I would fly it really hard and it would pop it back up and then it would go away this is completely different this is like and that was on the aggressive pids and on
[02:27:23] 100% motor limiting this was like turning the pids way the held down and motor limiting and it was just charging up so there's just there's just no shot there's no shot of running these on a on
[02:27:39] a 5 amp 5 aamp AO that's a shame but I'm going to leave them on this Frame and when the X12 comes in I'll put them on there and we'll retest them they'll probably be okay they'll
[02:27:55] probably be fine on the 12 amp fets but these are not for 5 aamp fed aios maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe you could get away with it on a 65mm build but why would you do that 0702 is
[02:28:14] are what you want on a 65mm build you do not want 703s this is too big of a motor for 65mm rig and with how quickly that was going up I actually don't think so I I I think that my guess here is
[02:28:31] that they did not rewind the the machine they sell these 0 703s in a lower KV my guess is that they did not put thicker gauge wire on the machine to wind these
[02:28:47] 27,000 and so I mean I'm looking at the Stater poles and there's obviously like some extra room for additional windings they do not look optimized for this KV KV they might be it's hard to
[02:29:05] tell but no this is this is pretty much unflyable as it is like this for more than 30 seconds at a time and the battery came off there boiling hot so it is
[02:29:20] these are inefficient Motors basically is is what's going on here and that lack of efficiency is just eating battery power and turning it into heat and I've heard that about these the the VCI and
[02:29:35] these RC and power 0 703s the prevailing review from people that have tried them is that they make great power but they're not efficient at all and there's a point of lack of efficiency
[02:29:51] where you get these core temperature warnings on the 5 amp on the 5 amp fets and so I'm gonna have to wait I'm gonna have to wait to try these again and I'm not going to be trying
[02:30:07] them again on this on this 5 amp AO that's a bummer for like the 15 seconds that I got to fly them at 100% motor output limiting with the KS cranked up they felt a lot
[02:30:23] like the VCI 0703 27,000 but with a little bit more power which is kind of great because that was my one complaint about the VC is they just didn't have quite enough power
[02:30:38] so on the X12 these motors actually might be really good but on a 5 amp they're they're a noo that was fresh propellers this is a fresh frame this 2g4 is a
[02:30:53] little bit older but no I can almost guarantee you that I could swap this for one of the much newer BetaFPV crosses with this wacky little setup and it would still do the same thing I've done
[02:31:07] that test back and forth a couple times and it's this particular 2g4 is a little bit more sensitive but it's not not that much more so that's a shame but we'll we see that X12 will
[02:31:20] come in and we'll we'll give another shot Dexter says some companies like hack RC say things like using high quality Japanese murada capacitors in their flight controller ESC is that a
[02:31:33] thing everyone should look into will it make the filtration and the gyro better nope they are just if if if you look I I bet you every single ESC every single flight controller uses Japanese
[02:31:45] marata capacitors but hack RC chooses that to be one of the things that they use in their marketing material so no hack RC components aren't any more durable than anybody else's and
[02:32:01] Elias says but why do you recommend a BNF if there are no so I have to build it myself I don't know Elias I I don't do the BNF thing that's not that's not my
[02:32:15] deal but what I do know is that these WalkSnail light vtx's are failing pretty quickly and if you just buy one of the vtx's and then you solder it up and whatnot it's much less of a chance that
[02:32:32] and you're going to have to spend time doing the build right so you you you get the the WalkSnail light VTX in you wait a couple days you get the build started something weird happens another
[02:32:44] couple days go by you finally finish up the build a week later now you start flying it's you get two weeks into flying it 3 weeks into flying it and the VTX blows up it's now been a month you
[02:32:57] get back to that Manu where you bought it from and you say a month ago I bought this thing from you they're liable to say like no sorry our return policy is only two weeks or one week or
[02:33:08] whatever you're [@$#%] out of luck versus you get a BNF you take it out of the box you start hammering batteries through it you put two weeks worth of batteries through it and it's got a tune
[02:33:20] and it works fine you don't have to screw around with anything you just fly that thing you put a ton of batteries through it in 2 weeks the VTX blows up you send that same email and you say
[02:33:29] two weeks ago I bought this thing from you and they're going to go all right our return policy is two weeks send it back we'll send you another one that's why I have no idea if there
[02:33:39] are I assume that there are BNF's with WalkSnail I just don't know who makes them I don't know how many there are but if there are the the my answer to your question stands
[02:33:52] out of respect for you and your hard-earned money is why I want to give you that answer I would love to say no custom build it because that's what I'm here to do right like I'm not here for
[02:34:03] bind and flies if you get into BNF's you might stop watching me so it actually hurts me to recommend a BNF but I don't care I want you to have a better experience which is why I
[02:34:13] answered that question that way I hope I hope that makes sense tiny shark says do you think a sub 90 gr 2S 2 and 12 inch analog with 1103 8000 KV Motors is too light I have no idea man I don't
[02:34:25] really fly those those kinds of rigs so I would just be like taking a guess and I really try not to do that try to find other people that have similar builds to that and see how they fly
[02:34:38] and figure it out for yourself if something is too light you can always put a bigger battery on it and that'll make it heavier I will say that Jonathan Allen says join late where rewind and
[02:34:48] watch I have I have both so I may try as well nice teleport FV says seems to fly really stable despite the heat buildup that's from the good response time that these motors have these motors make
[02:35:02] good power and power helps with response time the the these motors are also narrow right 0 0703 that's like a 2 and 1 half to one ratio that's a motor that's pretty
[02:35:15] narrow a narrow motor is going to spin up and slow down very quickly and so those things are all helping it but those narrow Motors also don't shed heat they don't have enough of this of the
[02:35:25] bell in the airflow to shed heat but I think there's more than just that going on but we'll find out once I get that X12 if it still does this core temperature [@$#%] on the X12 then these
[02:35:39] motors are a no-o top to bottom but I doubt it'll do that Titan says should I get the Firefly tiny whoop Motors or Weeble 40 thousands and limit's down
[02:35:53] that's on you brother it I I I can't I can't answer that for you the Weeble 40,000 are ridiculous the Firefly 36,000 are still a lot but I don't know what else you have I I don't know what
[02:36:14] other tiny whoops you've flown I don't know what other KVs you've flown so me answering that question is just me doing this and I and I try really hard not to do that I I try to answer questions in a
[02:36:25] way that actually helps you rather than just makes me look like a smart person on the internet Bren Anderson says I sted across some HappyModel literature saying to tune at 2K PID Loops less processing
[02:36:40] power maybe less heat I've never had that experience it's interesting that that comes from HappyModel the I don't know 2K pit Loops is going to make the flight performance worse though and
[02:37:08] there are setups that run totally fine on 4K so I don't know about that Zoe says is there a BetaFlight CLI command to see the dead time of the ESC I don't think so I don't think so I don't know a lot
[02:37:25] about ESC dead time though it's not something that's really been much of a thing to think about or deal with so I've never really do into it but I don't think there is I could totally
[02:37:38] be wrong though wow it's 5:45 that's a long live stream no wonder I'm so hungry thanks for hanging friends unfortunately these motors are just they're not going to work out
[02:37:52] on a 5 amp AO maybe on a 12 amp I'll get back to you I have another email into get FPV saying they offered me a third Spectre 10 amp and I said hell no it's going to be an X12 and I need to
[02:38:06] order a WalkSnail L they probably already got back to me I just I'm behind on my emails so I'll have an X12 within the next week or so and we will give this another
[02:38:16] shot but what I can say is that these are significantly worse in terms of getting too hot than 0802 30,000 102 22,000 and 1102 22,000 but the flight characteristics I
[02:38:38] think are better than all of those which makes sense power makes heat and so these fly great but we got to find an ESC flight controller AO that can handle them so last question to live
[02:38:55] streaming from Dexter he says will there will there be a big difference between t-motor f404 3800s versus 46,000 power and efficiency wise a kie Pro 2 and a half inch very much so 4600 will make
[02:39:12] way more power it'll be a little bit less efficient but it'll only be less efficient when your full throttle and you're Full Throttle for practically no amount of time so definitely get
[02:39:28] the 46 4600s all right friends be good I'll see you on what's today Sunday I'll see you tomorrow night at 10: September 15th I don't know what we're gonna do tomorrow night M Monday Monday
[02:39:43] mangle some quads Monday mangle mangle all the things Monday I don't know we'll do something fun love you bye I'm not ready go check out the edit that I just put up
[02:39:59] yesterday here it is with the here's the edit with the wrong music go watch it with the right music or else come on now come on bye friends n a n a
