[00:01:11] hey friends my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me Ciotti welcome to sim Sunday that was flying the H singi Firefly outside that was a fail safe basically the range of this is the
[00:01:28] same range as elrs with no antenna flying around the side of the house when last week actually I had a rig where the ceramic one of the 2S one of the 2S analog rigs the ceramic
[00:01:46] antenna broke off and it was totally fine out in front of the house but then as soon as I went just off on the side of the house it fell safed this did the exact same thing I then
[00:01:59] flew it across Ross the street and down a house and it fail safed again and threw a propeller and they don't give you extra propellers so I said what that's good I'm all set
[00:02:16] I did get a little bit more flying in outside with it's a super beginner rig oh wow another one of these propellers was actually about to come off yeah it's a super super super
[00:02:29] beginner rig it's much more for indoor kind of stuff to be really honest and I think we'll leave it there last stream the stream before and over on C
[00:02:46] fpv.one in your life who is either young or totally fresh to FPV hopefully obsessed with FPV I think this is pretty good I I think this is going to be more for the younger crowd because of how much it
[00:03:04] forces you to do on the application and how it has like achievements and unlocks and stuff I I really think that that these are almost specifically catered towards the the
[00:03:20] younger crowd that's brand new to FPV for older for older folks I think you might be better off getting them like one of the emac or BetaFPV starter setups they're going to be they're
[00:03:39] going to have brushless motors which is great and they're going to be a little bit more upgradeable this is essentially not upgradeable at all but I'm willing to overlook that because
[00:03:52] of how cool the the the app integration is and young people aren't really going to care about upgrading it right they're just going to want something that works now and is fun and that's
[00:04:04] exactly what it is what this is somebody that's older who has somewhat of an appreciation for money and where money comes from rather than it coming from Mom and Dad they're going to
[00:04:17] Value upgradeability more than the the app the the video game built into the application so I think that's going to be sort of the the
[00:04:35] delineation between those two things words are hard man Leave Me Alone in the chat Bob Bruce is first bad was next Michael Kass fainting goat David forf Kevin suar Bob Bruce Timmons Douglas 6
[00:04:49] Andrew Taylor Mario beans nuron Andrew Taylor FPV Dave I really hit the neuron there Alexander Lewis Hughes lster Uriel yaros schneer FPV is here thanks for joining us Teddy Andrew
[00:05:10] Taylor MC mucas Bob Bruce Morton upshot FPV Dave again random videos daily notice Blue Sky Brandon's baked beans hey type into chat where you're from maybe there's somebody else local that
[00:05:21] you can hang out with uh asander himo every day with Bruno Blue Sky zwi e b zwibble zwibble meth meth don't do meth kids John Brandon's B beans again Sky rot Uriel what's up friends thanks for coming
[00:05:54] we're gonna do Q&A first as we always do and then when I get caught up on chat we will fire up veloc drone and you can join me the the name of the room is going to be CiottiFPV it's going to be here
[00:06:05] in the US region and feel free to jump in I am going to be spectating people flying though and the thing that we're going to kind of focus on today is how the hell do you fly smooth how do you
[00:06:18] fly in a way that's kind of you can think of it in two different ways you can kind of think of it as like more cinematic but to be honest a better way to think about it is
[00:06:30] less Corrections less errors how do I fly in a way that looks more purposeful even if I'm not quite good enough yet to be sort of more purposeful and there is a way it's actually
[00:06:45] simpler than you'd think the concept is simple putting it into practice is extremely difficult and you're going to get to see that from folks in the that joined this room today I'm going to
[00:07:03] explain it to you guys and then I'm going to ask you to like to practice it and to do it and you're going to see how difficult it is I'll be able to flip back to myself and I'll show you how to
[00:07:13] do it and I'll show you the concept and then I'll bounce back and forth between whoever else has joined the room and you have to try to practice it we talked very briefly about it last
[00:07:25] time and basically the the concept is leave leaving the pitch roll and yaw sticks as quiet as possible and in in this drill that we're going to be doing which is really how you
[00:07:41] learn this fast leaving those sticks exactly where they are and only flying with the throttle so you're going to be flying along flying along flying along and then you're going to leave the
[00:07:55] sticks where they are and all you can do is move the throttle up and down so in this scenario we've got like a little bit of pitch forward little bit of roll right little bit of yaw left and now you
[00:08:05] got to leave it there as long as you possibly can and all you can do is move the throttle up and down and you have to fly around with only the throttle you do that for as long as you
[00:08:16] possibly can when you're about to crash you move pitch roll and yaw again you move them somewhere else and then you leave them there and you fly with the throttle again and the and that's the
[00:08:27] drill doing so the flight footage is going to look ridiculous but you're practicing and that's going to put you into like all kinds of weird scenarios where like so in that case we had pitch forward we
[00:08:47] had roll right let's just focus on that so we've got Pitch forward and roll right so you fly up in the air you do that you do pitch forward and roll right well this so let's say it's got some
[00:08:56] forward momentum you do that move you're going to be off the throttle now off the throttle off the throttle off the throttle back on the throttle and then so it's got some
[00:09:07] forward momentum you're going to be doing like these kind of cork screw things and you're going to try to kind of keep doing that and using the throttle the the other thing it's going
[00:09:16] to do is it's going to really drill you on when is your thrust Vector downwards when are you blowing any thrust down because in this drill you're going to crash a lot because you're going to have
[00:09:29] this slow rotation and it's just going to drive you into the ground so one of the other things that you're going to really figure out is as you rotate around you need to come off the throttle now right
[00:09:40] on the throttle on the throttle on the throttle on the throttle off the throttle right now because now the thrust is pushing upwards a little bit and you're going to be driving yourself
[00:09:52] down into the ground you really need to be off the throttle now right and you need to be patient be patient be patient be patient be patient now you can pick the throttle back up because your thrust
[00:10:02] thrust Vector is sideways a split second later you've got a little bit of a downward thrust vector and so now you want to pick the throttle up you want to be on the throttle hard here to get
[00:10:12] yourself back up in the air to give yourself some some elevation and then as it comes around again you got to get back off the throttle here right so it's going to really drill that as well
[00:10:23] how do I keep this thing from crashing but not moving the other sticks and then obviously in that process you're going to have to navigate right we're going to do this on I think we'll do it
[00:10:37] on the the map that's in the in the port with all the cranes and so that there there are some big gaps in between the stuff but there will be stuff coming so you won't just be able
[00:10:48] to do these infinitely there will be times that when it comes around like this and it's and you have a little bit of thrust going upward driving you into the ground there will
[00:11:01] be times that you'll need to get on the throttle to avoid the thing if you're going forwards and there's a big building here and you're coming around you might need to get on the thrust here
[00:11:11] just for a split second to avoid that building so it's going to build on a couple of things at once and those are the drills that I like to kind of walk people through that I work with
[00:11:22] through typically Fiverr on flight instruction because those are the drills that between the end of our half an hour or hour long session and whenever the next one is it's
[00:11:35] something that's difficult enough for them to put 5 10 15 hours into it so that next time that they come back we can kind of move on to something else you can give somebody simple
[00:11:47] drills that kind of boosts their confidence because they can get good at them really quick but then there's there's not that like longevity there I tend to give you like harder stuff to to
[00:11:59] work on and assume that you won't quit FPV if you haven't quit yet you probably won't now so that you you get a little bit of your a little bit more of your sort of money's worth out of them
[00:12:12] and and you can just work on those drills forever this drill I still do and I'm still not like absolutely perfect at it you'll never be that like leaving leaving a stick input for as long as you
[00:12:26] possibly can like that's infinitely difficult unless it's just pitched forward if if you're just pitched forward you can just do you'll you'll kill that whatever momentum
[00:12:35] you've got and then you can just do front flips forever to make it hard if that's what happens at some point move it to a different a different stick input and then leave it there for as long as you
[00:12:48] possibly can so that's what we're going to be working on today this is something that is incredibly valuable and then obviously maybe it's not obvious the main part of that
[00:13:01] drill is preventing yourself from making these tiny little stick movements and these little tiny Corrections what we're going for here is there's a gap out there you put your sticks where they
[00:13:12] need to be for The Gap and then you leave your sticks all the way alone all the way up until you get to it and you fly straight through it and then when there's another Gap somewhere else you
[00:13:21] move the sticks for that Gap and you run a very gentle curve all the way to it and then maybe you make one stick correction and then you fly through that Gap and then you change your sticks
[00:13:33] again get it lined up set the sticks in in another spot and fly directly to it what we all do way too much is make too many micro Corrections when we're flying around and it just
[00:13:47] looks like we're unsure but we also have a tendency to try to like like you do a big movement and there's like a ton of action and it's like oh God like everything's happening all at once and
[00:14:03] then you settle down to fly straight again and it's like after a half a second you're like well this is boring let me let me and you start moving around I remember in in the olden days
[00:14:14] rotor Riot actually put a video out of like top five FPV tips or some and one of the tips was like are you bored just flying straight put a put roll in to Juke and Jive back and
[00:14:30] forth and it'll look it'll look like you're walking or something and I remember being like oh no don't do that and at the time we were like a lot of people were doing that and it was
[00:14:42] already kind of like getting old and played out and so it's kind of like the opposite of that but I think one of the reasons why we want to do that is because like when we really move the
[00:14:53] sticks it generates like a crazy amount of like oh my God and then when you settle back back down it's very easy to be like well this is kind of boring your viewer does not want to be on as much
[00:15:08] crack cocaine as you your viewer wants a second to relax and breathe and so doing a big hit of motion and then settling down for three or 4 seconds and actually setting down ra settling down rather
[00:15:23] than it's actually really kind of a lot more pleasing to watch in in in my opinion also viewers are not used to the Horizon moving and so if you can settle down and level The Horizon for
[00:15:40] someone it gives them a chance to kind of take a breath and breathe and that that interplay of action and then chill action and then chill that's very dramatic and that's really fun to watch
[00:15:55] like if it's if it's constant chaos then someone gets used to the constant chaos and then when you settle down it is it can be a little bit too boring because you've kind of like driven that
[00:16:10] just nonstop into someone's brain non FPV viewers are probably going to bail it's if it's if it's too much because they're not used to it they've never seen anything that is as
[00:16:25] ridiculous as what they're seeing right now and there's only only so much that normal people can take and so I I I guess a part of this also is like do you care do you care if normal
[00:16:40] people can watch you flying or watch your flight footage and if you don't care I guess it doesn't matter but this is still going to make you a lot better pilot because the ability to turn that
[00:16:50] off and on and the ability to put the sticks in a position and let the rig roll around right into a Gap or something that looks really good and it's really hard to do so like
[00:17:04] regardless of whether or not you care what the flight footage looks like this is going to make you a lot better of a pilot so do it so that's what the
[00:17:18] plan is for today in the chat if you'd like to talk to me I guess it's over here for you no it's over here just type c FPV you don't have to put an at in front of it but you do have to spell
[00:17:27] it right c i o t t ifpv without any spaces if you do that for me it'll light up an orange you can do that with each other you can even do it with yourself as if you don't every night
[00:17:40] already hey if you type your own name and you spell your own name correctly in your chat comment your own name will light up an orange so if you want to talk to Timmons if you want to get Timmons is
[00:17:58] attention type timens t m m m there's three m t mmm i ns I didn't know that there were three M's until just now and for that person their own name will light up on Orange and they'll see it
[00:18:11] and they'll you'll have gotten their attention and then when they type back to you hopefully they'll type your name to get your attention you can also do a super chat if you
[00:18:21] want to support me this is a completely crowdfunded thing that I've got going here over on SE fpv.one a ton of different ways that you can support me streaming schedule is here
[00:18:32] hopefully it's correct it sure is patreon as it says helps me the most somebody join patreon somebody did join patreon and they're going to get a shout out if you join patreon now you'll
[00:18:42] get a shout out as well you'll eventually get a shout out but whether or not you're on the live stream at the time lord Only Knows Emil christofer thank you for joining the patreon
[00:18:53] brother welcome to the gangly gang congratulations you're a part of the coolest crew on the internet don't listen to what anybody else says yeah somebody somebody out
[00:19:03] there's been thinking about joining the patreon join it and you'll get a well-deserved shout out three bucks a month to join that's only 10 cents a day or I think it's like seven and a half
[00:19:12] cents per hour of live streaming content that I do Etsy has a whole bunch of really fun stuff some full builds some random Hardware some good stocking stuffers for the for yourself
[00:19:25] you can put stuff in your own stocking and act surprised it'll confuse everybody else in your house do it you won't Fiverr has is where you can work one-on-one with me we do flight
[00:19:35] instruction we do tuning we do build planning or whatever you want it's your show you paid for it ask me all the questions that you've got that you want proper answers to do not trust
[00:19:46] Facebook groups or Reddit more than 50% of the answers that to questions on those two places are dead ass wrong I'm not even kidding terrible spot for for getting actual factual FPV info one
[00:20:01] of the most valuable things that I do is this one build planning if you're going to do a custom build kind of the only reason to do that is that you're going to use the parts
[00:20:11] that are perfect for you if you don't know what parts are perfect for you you almost might as well buy a BNF because there's a company that's putting together a bunch of parts that are
[00:20:23] pretty damn good and you're actually going to save money with a BNF unbelievable one of the biggest reasons to do a custom build is that you have a specific place that you fly a lot a specific
[00:20:40] like speed that you crash at usually you crash into a specific kind of objects right like softish wooden trees or infinitely hard metal poles SL concrete SL brick or nice soft cushy
[00:20:57] grass you've got a specific amount of weight that you want to pick up with the rig you've got a specific speed that you want to cruise at all these things right and there is a perfect build for all of
[00:21:10] those wants and needs and desires until you've tested thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars of Motors frames propellers Electronics all that good stuff you
[00:21:24] won't know you won't know what the best ones are I have done that I've tested a countless amount of Parts over the last eight years and I can help you out with that build a rig that is very very
[00:21:36] very well suited for your specific wants needs desires and that's one of the most valuable things that we do through Fiverr and I'd love to work with you on that build yourself a
[00:21:46] Christmas a Christmas quadand I can help it'll be the best flying one that you've got there's also a Teespring store where you can get some fun shirts and apparel there's a PayPal
[00:21:56] button here if you want to do a super chat but you don't want you you to take 30% if you do this make sure that you tag me in the chat and sayseti check your email I just paypaled you and
[00:22:06] then look at all these beautiful affiliate links my friends I'm about to sneeze just one boy is that rare okay fair enough look at all these affiliate linksaffiliate
[00:22:24] links are a way to support the people that you like to watch their stuff on the internet for free but it's real money for them so use them use an affiliate link every single time you
[00:22:34] order something on the Internet almost every website at this point has an affiliate program look at your favorite YouTubers find an affiliate link change your bookmark to that affiliate link if
[00:22:45] you don't use bookmarks change your URL bar recommendations to someone's affiliate links if you type the beginning of a website your browser will suggest the most visited link on that
[00:22:58] website with those first couple of digits you can remove that suggestion so remove all of your suggestions for these websites and then just come in and hit someone's affiliate links a couple times
[00:23:09] in a row and your browser will think that when you want to go to race day quads you type R that you actually go to someone's affiliate link that's a super easy way to support people who make
[00:23:19] stuff that you like to watch on YouTube yeah and then we can keep making stuff you can keep watching it and you won't have to see yet another YouTube channel go away there's been a
[00:23:33] there's been a lot of Automotive YouTube channels that have gone away lately which is why I make that joke Amazon get FPV pyro drone race day quads newbie drone wee bed FPV BetaFPV FPV
[00:23:45] cycle his singi oh my God brain 3D hd0 flywoo emac bang good and Camera butter oh Ali Express as well those are all the ones that I have affiliate links to I greatly appreciate when you guys
[00:23:57] remember to use use them if you don't remember to use them I don't blame you because I have a hard time remembering too I've had to do the URL bar trick in order to use my own affiliate links
[00:24:08] otherwise I don't remember to use them I I do remember to use them five and a half seconds after I've checked out on a website so there's that so I I don't I don't blame you guys for
[00:24:21] forgetting to use them ever because I can't remember either in the chat Bob Bruce tagged me and said what's up everyone F and goat says hope you're doing well man I'm doing okay it's
[00:24:32] been it's been a really nasty couple of weeks three weeks and I don't know I I I was I was just maybe starting to recover from the first absolutely devastating horrible thing and then I had a
[00:24:50] friend of mine take his own life last week and so I feel like the entire month of November all I did was cry for large groups of people for
[00:25:06] individuals and so hopefully December is a little bit better because it's looking like January is going to be an absolute January and forever more are going to be a complete nightmare for
[00:25:22] many groups of people that don't cause any harm to anyone they just want to live live but apparently the monsters don't want them to live which is just I don't know weird
[00:25:39] very very weird but we did this to ourselves I guess I don't know timman says just a reminder to look into the get BARC 102 25,000 KV Motors talked about in Discord thank you timens yeah garc is finally
[00:25:57] not finally but G RC is someone is finally making a 102 that is a little bit higher KV here's a little bit inside baseb so the and so one of the problems that we've had with 1S 75 MIM builds has
[00:26:15] been that we didn't have any Motors that were a high enough KV 22,000 KV was the max that we had from the RC and power motors and the RC and Power 102s and the BetaFPV
[00:26:30] 1102s technically we had the flywoo 23,500 but they didn't perform any better than the RC and power motors typically what that means is either they're not actually wound to be 23,500
[00:26:45] KV well wait I tested it hold on I'll tell you right now yeah here we go hold on so we tested I thought that we tested this we sure did so no oh apparently we
[00:27:05] didn't oh wait no that's on sheet three sheet one should have it here we go okay so this is what we're looking at this is what we're going to look at here RC and power RC and
[00:27:20] power 22,000 KV here flywoo 23,500 KV here these are both numbers for with without the propellers on them so this is a proper KV testing test the number might not be correct but the
[00:27:35] comparison between these two is correct so the flywoo 23,500 they are wound in a way that is a slightly higher KV than the the U the RC and power
[00:27:50] 22000 and so but when you fly them and you can actually see that in the spreadsheet over here when we run them on a 1610 propeller all right so now we're looking at these two numbers right
[00:28:09] here so this is now this is when they're under load they have a propeller on them causing them to do actual work and you can see that the flywoo higher KV motor is actually not turning as high of an
[00:28:25] RPM as the RC and power lower KV motor M and basically what that means is that the flywoo motor has either weaker magnets thinner magnets a bigger air gap or any number of other smaller things
[00:28:43] that affect how much actual power and grunt a motor can produce the KV is a really good way to be able to tell what kind of power the motor will make the higher KV the more power but it's not
[00:28:56] the end of the story there are lots of other things that affect how much actual power a motor will make that is to that is not shown by the KV the KV is measured with zero
[00:29:11] load on the motor so it is just a measure of how high an RPM that motor will spin if you're looking at two motors from the same manufacturer you're good because they're going to have the same
[00:29:26] thickness magnets the same magnet strength the same air gap yada y y but as soon as you look at a motor from RC and RC and power versus any other manufacturer like we are here that all
[00:29:36] goes out the window because of all these different things that they can do differently when they construct a motor and this is a perfect example of that the the flywoo
[00:29:46] 23,500 it performs worse than the RC and power motor when you actually put a propeller on it and I don't know about you but when I fly quads I fly them with propellers on them and so
[00:29:58] up until the and so here's the other interesting thing right this garc 102 25,000 KV motor it might not perform better than the RC and power 22,000 KV we would have to test it to to
[00:30:12] actually find that out in theory though in theory that motor will make more power than all of these other 102s and 1102s that we've found Ju Just to round it all up here's the beta
[00:30:30] FPV 1102 22,000 down here and you can see that with the propeller on the RC and Power 102 and the BetaFPV 1102 they're making the same amount of RPM so they have
[00:30:46] basically the same amount of power hopefully this get RC will make more power if I do this test they will give 53,000 54,000 55,000 but there's no telling the the test is
[00:31:02] that I hooked the quad up to an adjustable power supply I give it a specific amount of voltage which I'm pretty sure was four volts I put the same propeller on them which is a gem
[00:31:14] fan 1610 byblade I hold the quad in my hand and I ramp it up to 100% throttle and I look at the RPM being reported back from the ESC that's not a perfect test because in the air when the
[00:31:29] Quad starts moving through the air there is now some incoming air and that makes the motor's job a little bit easier when I'm sitting here holding this thing the motor and the propeller have to take
[00:31:42] this static air that's not moving and accelerate it and pull it in when it's moving through the air it doesn't have that heart of a job right cuz it's moving into a column of air constantly
[00:31:54] so this testing that I'm doing is is it's the it's making the motor's job as hard as possible but what we saw when we did the testing is a big V what I was afraid of is that we were
[00:32:11] going to get to a certain point and then all of the motors were just going to show like 52,000 RPM 52,000 52,000 52,000 because we're asking too much of all the motors but that's not what
[00:32:24] played out as we ramped up the KV in some cases we saw the RPMs go up and so that made this a really valid test even when we get all the way up to the biggest Sater volume motor we tested
[00:32:38] here we see the highest number so this is a actually a really good test even though we did it with like very little to no test gear and so I will absolutely get at least one of
[00:32:51] those I got to be honest I will probably only get one of those G RC 102 25,000 and here's why here's a little inside baseball for you in talking to Tyler grus FPV from roria at rampage
[00:33:09] this year he's been on a similar WalkSnail 1S quest I believe he's the brains behind the vision 20 and he had t-motor make him a bunch of custom KV 102s
[00:33:29] maybe maybe the the t-motor 102 is the wrong motor for this and I only say that because my t-motor 102s did not seem to have quite as much power as the RC and power 102s that were
[00:33:48] the same KV so there might be something about the the t-motor motor construction that is not as dialed as RC in power and maybe an RC in Power 102 25,000 27,000 would actually make the
[00:34:10] extra power that we were looking for with the extra efficiency not extra efficiency but with good efficiency but Tyler had a whole bunch of 2 he didn't tell me the specific KVs but
[00:34:24] basically like 24,000 26,000 28,000 30,000 KV 102s made and he had the same exact experience that I had with all of this testing which is that with a 75mm rig on a 1S 450 mAh
[00:34:43] battery you either get the power that you want or the runtime that you want if you get the power that you want the run time is like a minute a minute and a half not even two minutes what happens
[00:34:57] there is you Hammer the hell out of the battery and your batteries are not going to last long any FPV battery if you fly and you fly the way that you normally fly and that battery dies in like less
[00:35:11] than 3 minutes let's say less than two and a half minutes you are you are discharging that battery too fast and that battery is getting too hot and heat is what kills one of the is one of the
[00:35:25] things that kills lipos and so you don't want to do that like a it's annoying to only have a two-minute run time like you're you're just kind of getting warmed up and
[00:35:35] starting to have fun after like a minute to a minute and a half and then so you've got like 30 seconds to actually fly good before you got to come in and change it and start the whole process
[00:35:44] over again it's just not enough it's just not enough runtime three minutes is is the right run time three minutes to five minutes is is really where it's at if you're going Beyond
[00:35:56] five minutes you're you're sacrificing performance for runtime and I mean if if that's really important to you then have at it but don't do that build something that runs for five minutes and
[00:36:08] then you have to change the battery it's good to take a little break unless you're doing long range stuff obviously right but uh so when when those KVs got up high enough on those
[00:36:20] 102s to where the power felt good the runtime wasn't there and we rent we went through the same thing on this channel right for months and months and months with all this motor testing the
[00:36:31] all the 802s the 703s the 603s the 102s the 1102s the 083s every single time when we had a motor on a 75mm rig with 1 s that gave us enough power we didn't get enough
[00:36:46] runtime and when we got enough runtime we didn't have enough power and so that's when we went to 2S and it was all better that there is for each voltage there is a maximum like amount of performance
[00:37:05] that you can get before it really starts to fall apart and basically we found that for how heavy a 75 millimet rig is going to be and for the type of flying that we're going to do with it which is
[00:37:19] flying outside because 65s are so much lighter and so much better inside don't freeze don't freeze please no please no can can Canon you jerks hold
[00:37:37] on hold on come on back to life you jackass I heard it come on come on you anus work work work work you jerk here it comes there it is I forget what I was saying uh the G RC 102 25,000 KV
[00:38:10] motor maybe maybe maybe maybe it is constructed better than the t-motor 102s and maybe we will get the extra power that we want with enough efficiency but I doubt it because we've We've
[00:38:28] tested motors from VCI flywoo BetaFPV RC and power and HappyModel and not one of those companies constru and we tested different sized Motors so not every single one of
[00:38:48] those manufacturers has a 102 I do think that 102 is the right size for 75mm builds but we've tested Motors that are constructed by all those different manufacturers and none of them have some
[00:39:04] magical formula to give us the power and the efficiency that we want with crafts that are this heavy from 1S I genuinely believe that 2S is the way for 75mm rigs if you want something that
[00:39:20] rips if you want something that cruises around the 102s the 1102s at 22,000 KV are very fun I I've I eventually calmed down and started flying those rigs differently and just putting the
[00:39:38] nose down and just covering a lot of ground and they're very fun admittedly every single time I see a really cool tree that I want to throw it up over I'm like I either do it and I'm disappointed
[00:39:50] with the lack of power or I just say no no no that's not what this rig is for keep it low to the ground rip around with 2S that all goes away and you can put the nose down and cruise even
[00:40:02] faster low to the ground or you can hammer it up over a tree or a basketball net or whatever and so and the 2S rigs are only like 2 point something grams heavier so
[00:40:18] there's if you've got a 75mm rig that you're planning on flying outside the house if you don't build it 2S you're just limiting yourself and what it can do there's really
[00:40:34] unfortunately no reason to build it 1S other than like I already have a whole bunch of the 1S 450 Mah batteries which is where I'm at but I I've barely flown the 1S 75mm rigs
[00:40:56] like this makes me feel like I should oh don't forget about the don't forget about the get out of here stop it get get out of here don't forget about the the tiny whoop 450s with the little lead on
[00:41:14] them this is me trying to figure it out this is me trying to figure out how to make those 1S 75s perform really really well and just I just couldn't get there I thought
[00:41:29] that I I ran the Weeble batteries forever and then I thought well maybe the beta BetaFPV lavas will perform better they didn't and then I thought maybe the tiny whoop 450s that
[00:41:39] are a little bit lighter will will perform different they're a little bit lighter which was nice but no 1S is is not the way for uh for 75mm rigs if anybody if anybody wants some
[00:41:55] 450 MH battery batteries hit me up I've got plenty and I'm just not really using them anymore for all the reasons that we just talked about so let me
[00:42:10] know thank you for that reminder I like I said though I will certainly get one of those G RC 102 25000 and test it because I want to put it onto this sheet this sheet by the way th this Google
[00:42:23] doc is available to patrons there's a patreon post with a link to this document hopefully it's not editable I don't think it's editable so this is the original testing that we did
[00:42:36] with a lot of different Motors a lot of different propellers and then more recently uh we did some additional testing with with with these guys what what did we do this for I
[00:42:49] don't remember why we did this was this just me retesting to make sure that I didn't get something wrong I forget why we why we Revisited this I think I was just backing the
[00:43:04] testing up to make sure that the RPMs weren't different I know that I was adding this sub 250 102 20,000 KV motor to the testing I think it might have been just confirming the previous test
[00:43:17] because we're kind of doing the exact same thing as here I I have this thing where like I think it's because I I think it's because like I I I just have Stockholm Syndrome from FPV being
[00:43:33] like the least reliable source of data ever if if I've done like a test and 6 months goes by I feel like the the test is wrong and I and I need to go back and retest all of it to make sure that
[00:43:53] it's to make sure that it's accurate it also comes from like like like a per like a flying standpoint like if if I if I've personally tested something and I and I think it's garbage six months
[00:44:11] goes by I'm a better pilot I'm a better driver I'm a better whatever I feel like I need to retest it now that I've changed to make sure that it's that it's as current and as accurate
[00:44:25] as possible I should stop doing that for tests that are based on data like looking at the RPM in the motor limiting tab but I don't know it's nice to retest stuff thank you for that reminder
[00:44:44] Timmons asander says long time no stream not for me just for you what's up asander how are you brother how you been blue skyp says as far as Els without antenna bizarre measurement but I
[00:44:57] totally understand the distance that you mean that is that is quite the bizarre measurement but I think a lot of you have had ceramic antennas break off at this point
[00:45:10] because I don't know they just break off a lot and elrs without the ceramic antenna it has like a specific amount of range it's funny it's pretty it's all the the other
[00:45:24] measurement there is going two floors up in this house the the elrs stuff I can fly down here in the basement I can fly upstairs but then when I go to the third floor
[00:45:33] where the kids rooms are I think I do remember it fail safing and so that that's the range that you're going to get from the the hingi stuff I'll be honest I I I wish that they had a
[00:45:45] little bit more control link range this is a very rare case where the video range drastically outruns the the controller link range you could argue I guess that for a super beginner rig
[00:46:01] that's a good thing you fly it a little bit too far away you fly up four houses down and it lands itself it when when this thing fail safes it's doesn't just drop out of the air it
[00:46:13] lowers the throttle that that different fail safe setting in in BetaFlight so it's like levels itself and it slowly lands and so maybe that's on purpose for a
[00:46:25] beginner rig because if you're going more than four houses away you're going to have a hell of a time finding it this is the other thing that happened I couldn't find the damn thing there's no
[00:46:34] beeper there's no Turtle mode and when it fail safes you have to take the battery out turn it off and back on so when this thing fail safes it is this outside sitting in the grass or leaves
[00:46:48] or wherever and that is really hard to find it's made me really appreciate beepers and turtle mode and stuff so but again as like a little kids rig that very well
[00:47:04] could be on purpose it's probably not on purpose but like maybe they had a meeting and they were like elrs is open source we can put that on to it and somebody was like hold on do we want
[00:47:15] little kids being able to run elrs range with these things a mile away and lose it properly forever and ever and ever probably not so maybe they went with like FR sky or God knows what I doubt
[00:47:29] that it's FR Sky if I had to guess they've either run a non-un an antenna that is tuned improperly to shorten the range or it's on like what was the what was the
[00:47:46] protocol that we used to make fun of everybody that was on it because they would fail safe all the time back in the FR FR Sky days Fly Sky it maybe it's on Fly Sky
[00:47:57] or there was another one whatever that whatever that protocol was that Futaba was on yeah it's got even worse range than those so but again for a little kid
[00:48:14] that's probably a good thing Kevin suer says did you see Bots video with the Firefly I didn't same same thing second crash through a prop I had no idea he
[00:48:27] he did a video on that on it oh look at that oh cuz it was just a day ago I haven't been on uh YouTube I fell asleep early last night very cool I try not to lose a child's FPV drone in
[00:48:41] the river nice what did he have to say eight minutes and 28 seconds what what did he have to say about it out of curiosity hok says I did the elrs bench test on air6 I'm getting 70 blah
[00:48:58] blah blah antenna looks finding my eye inspection himox you messaged me that same thing somewhere and I got back to you somewhere I I don't know where it was but I I've never done that elrs
[00:49:12] bench test so I don't know what I don't know if that's fine or not with on the elrs wiki where they talk about how to do that bench test I know that they they also talk about what is good
[00:49:28] and what is bad so whether or not that is fine you're going to want to base on wherever you read how to do that test if if that's not the other way to tell if that's fine is to just fly the rig
[00:49:42] and if it fail safes when you go 100 feet away it's not fine or if you fly if you're standing in front of your house and you fly around back behind your house and it fail safes that's not
[00:49:53] fine if it's not fine then since it's an air 65 you must have just bought it return it unless you screwed something up if if you screwed the elrs antenna up well then it's on
[00:50:08] you but if it's been doing that since day one contact whoever you bought it from and say this thing is there's a problem with the elrs I get like very little range I did the
[00:50:18] elrs bench test and it says that it's bad I didn't do anything to this thing I just plugged in a battery and tried to fly it and they need to send you another one
[00:50:27] so do that and then maybe get yourself a new one that works properly oh wow I'm super behind on chat okay let's get caught up here J monk says what's up FPV Dave
[00:50:48] says any thoughts on I I'm gonna I I pronounce it differently now just as a as a as a Fu to everyone I I Now Pronounce it scabi any thoughts on the scabi toilet
[00:51:01] and any box goggles that could be better than the EV 8000d that's around the same price point now the the EV 8000 DS have always kind of been like at that price point the absolute best box goggle that
[00:51:13] there is there are slightly better box goggles but they're like double triple the price so it's that price point is owned by ehen so not a ton of options there
[00:51:30] unfortunately either every day with Bruno says is there any truth to the Rumblings of a new of new HG zero goggles absolutely no idea the the HD zero guys have never really contacted me
[00:51:41] about anything so I I have I have no clue you guys will literally know before I do because you guys are paying in a lot of cases more attention to the FPV news that I am I'm just in my own little
[00:51:52] kind of world Badger FPV says do if there's any delay running an analog module into my WalkSnail goggles there's always going to be at least a little bit of a delay but I
[00:52:09] believe I'm going to guess that you have goggles X because I don't know of a way of getting video into the non goggles X I believe that goggles X use HDMI for the analog module input
[00:52:27] and from what I've heard HDMI has like a 2 millisecond delay which is something but not not something that you would notice so you should be totally fun Kevin Sumer said this
[00:52:39] segment should be called just the tips with C if I can remember it shall always be known as just the tip with c FPV Kevin S also says uh just about any 5 in I think wait what oh no he's vpro
[00:53:03] where's vpro vpro says I assume Outdoors for today's session here the the map that I'm going to choose is going to be an outdoor map for sure C which quads do you recommend for
[00:53:17] folks on today's Sim okay uh 5in rig yeah we're going to be outside in 5 in or bigger although for what we're going to be working on it really doesn't matter to be honest but veloc
[00:53:31] drone feels best with the the the 5-in rigs it's pretty accurate with the 5-in rigs the the smaller stuff it just doesn't feel quite right with although it would totally work you could
[00:53:44] totally use one of their tiny whoops for what we're doing today and get just as much out of it so it actually really doesn't matter but I'm going to be flying a 5- in rig and you know
[00:53:55] so if you want to be flying fying in the same scale as I am yeah there you go Sy yq psych I'm G to pronounce that psych says hi you're horrible question guy here I've grown accustomed
[00:54:11] to Flying whoop with pinch hold pinching it seems to give me a lot of stability but holding me a bit back in regards to response question is would you advise me to start practice with
[00:54:22] thumb holding the sticks no you in my opinion you want that from what you're saying lack of response it's not really a lack of response I can move the the sticks
[00:54:39] with a pinch grip just as quickly as maybe not just as quickly but this is too much if if you need to move the stick outwards quicker than what you can do with two fingers you're doing it
[00:54:51] wrong and it's just going to look obnoxious to any viewer and so pinching for life the reason to use the reason to thumb rather than pinch is just that you don't like it and
[00:55:07] and you fly worse with it pinching is going to give you much more fine control over nipples over your your movements and specifically the center of the stick travel which is it going to allow
[00:55:28] it's going to allow you to make very subtle changes which is super important to not bouncing around all the time looking it's your very first time flying thumbs like in until you've
[00:55:41] put an awful lot of time into them it makes you look like a super beginner pilot pinching is one of the quickest ways to look like a much more experienced pilot and to produce video
[00:55:54] footage that is way more watchable to people that don't do meth and or crack cocaine so keep pinching in my opinion dino FPV with a 199 pound Super Chat thank you brother he
[00:56:08] says just sending some love to Mr gley gangle and the dog you guys haven't seen the dog Teddy Teddy Teddy d he got a haircut and he looks about 50 years younger he went from looking like the
[00:56:33] angriest old German man to like a little puppy yes yes I do get down here buddy come here come here little boy what a jerk what an absolute Jerk come here buddy come here you little
[00:56:53] fart bag oh hello shapes look at this little dog now look at this little face I got to tell you the really funny thing that happened with this haircut see this is what it looks
[00:57:10] like now you guys remember what he looked like before very angry um so good boy good boy so his head is basically much smaller now they they cut off schows are cut the schows are
[00:57:34] haircut is like big long beard and that makes their head look really big Maggie told them to cut the beard down a lot and to and the other thing about the schneer cut is
[00:57:45] they cut their eyebrows to look like this so they just look angry all the time which I think is hysterical both of those things have cut off so so two things have happened he now looks like
[00:57:57] 50 years younger he looks like a puppy again but the the other thing that happen is that like when we got him he was like malnutritioned and very skinny he was a rescue the the
[00:58:12] previous people that had him just did not treat him very nicely I guess but he was very skinny like you could see his rear hips and it was it was bad we give him as much food as he's as
[00:58:24] he wants the food bowl is constantly filled which we might we might need to stop doing that but for the last like year or so that we've had him food bowls always been
[00:58:35] full he's gotten a little bit heavier a little bit heavier a little bit heavier he's now 20 pounds which the Vets like whatever you're fine but like now that his head is
[00:58:48] smaller he looks so fat hey look we got him home and A's like oh my God he's so fat I was like oh my God you're right his body looks so big now he looks like a bowling ball with
[00:59:09] like a little I don't even know a little racket ball head on him so I think I think Maggie got self-conscious about that and she put the little the little blue jacket thing
[00:59:23] on him which does it does slim him the the blue jacket is is very slimit on slimming on him so it's been it's been a funny couple days since I I brought him home on Friday and I was like oh Maggie what
[00:59:38] have you done what did you tell the groomers to do but it'll grow back this is a this is a season of looking like a fat young child dog he'll be back to looking angry and
[00:59:53] sloppy in no time I will say this the the big long beard when he drinks water is a nightmare like he goes and drinks water and then he gets all excited and he comes and jumps up on us
[01:00:06] and it's just like it's is a nightmare so it is the the the lack of a big ridiculous schneer beard is is nice from a us not getting soaked with dog ball water perspective but
[01:00:26] I think he looks ridiculous now Uriel says I ordered EDC at alley with your link thank you dude what's EDC EDC in my world is everyday carry the Donnie llama says are the VCI
[01:00:39] Motors brand new on the Etsy store and is it the 1 and a half mimet prop shaft they are not brand new but I did not fly them much they are the 703s they are 1 mm motor shaft
[01:00:56] and I I flew maybe like five batteries on them two of them are Absolutely Fresh two of them have been crashed a couple times but they are not like when you spin the motors up
[01:01:11] individually you can just barely tell that two of them are not all that fresh I wasn't super impressed by their performance so I didn't fly them enough to really crash them very much for
[01:01:23] someone that's going to cruise around with them they're going to be totally fine the 703 size is going to be very lightweight the 23,500 KV performs pretty well if you go Full Throttle a
[01:01:37] lot with them they're going to overheat because of the 703 size sorry 703 size but for like light cruising or for a lightweight rig they're going to actually be really
[01:01:49] good but they are not brand new I did fly them probably five or six batteries total only flew them out in front of the house so all the crashes are like grass or maybe like the roof
[01:02:03] at the at its worst my dad texted me what's he have to say why is he not watching the live stream he says we're here awesome my parents have begun their have begun their it gets too
[01:02:23] damn cold in the north Journey South in their motor home demo FPV says for a 2S toothpick or similar thoughts on the BetaFPV toothpick f411 2 to 4S 20 app or the Darwin I don't know the Darwin but I
[01:02:41] have that BetaFPV wait no 20 amp no I have the 12 amp I don't know anything about either one of those aios check out quad 66's Channel he does a lot of Toothpick stuff
[01:02:55] with similar aios to those maybe he's tested those I have not run either one of those aios though MC MCB says hold on can you plug the 18650 cradle that fits in the back of your
[01:03:14] transmitter into a 2S charger h I don't see why not it's just going to Output voltage I don't see why not I'm gonna say yes there you go J monk says can you share the spreadsheet
[01:03:45] that you're showing there's a link to it over on the over on the patreon page I I I think you you I said that earlier but I think you posted that question before I said that BL guy says
[01:03:56] just curious what does it cost to have t-motor make a special request motor I don't think it's a cost thing I think it's a oh you work for rotor Riot we'll make you a motor oh you're just a
[01:04:07] stranger on the internet we won't make you that motor but I've I've I've never specifically asked I've never specifically asked him motor manufacturer you never know
[01:04:26] maybe they would just do it but it's an interesting question if you if you ask one of them let me know and they get back to you let me know Blue Sky also says the first
[01:04:39] mobula 7 five or six years ago was 2S seems like we've come full circle nuron FPV says you can use two 450 Mah with a pigtail with a pigtail power wire to power a 2S it flies
[01:04:56] pretty well in my experience we talked about that I think on Friday's live stream it might have been on Wednesday's live stream I weighed all the different combinations and we talked
[01:05:06] about all the different ways to go 2S BT 3.0 versus double double I don't have a rig with it but double BT 2.0 pigtail using two 450 Mah batteries like this is the heaviest way to do it
[01:05:25] but it'll still absolutely work and once you go 2S you're going to have so much extra power that you won't really notice much of a difference I don't like or need 2S 450 Mah I only want or need 300
[01:05:40] Mah at which point you can absolutely do double 300 Mah batteries but to save a little bit of extra weight the BT 3.0 setup with the with the the tiny whoop 2S 300's is the cleanest
[01:06:01] lightest way to go but the double pigtail thing absolutely works fine there's nothing wrong with it the only problem is finding a frame where the batteries are going to sit in
[01:06:12] there really nicely with the 300 MH 2S it fits in the mobula 7 V3 and V4 frames with pretty much no modifications other than like removing the top parts of the battery tray on the V4 but
[01:06:27] Alexander Lewis Hughes says you were testing on a different AO good call that's what it was that's what it was that's right thank you dude yeah and the first motor or two that I
[01:06:38] tested was it was giving me a different RPM and I was like oh but then as I continued testing I I started to hit the same RPM numbers so it was just a glitch in The Matrix Jackalope FPV with
[01:06:51] a $10 Super Chat he says happy holidays Jackalope I have not seen your name in the chat in a while Have You Been Just lurking or have you been living life with without FPV thank you brother
[01:07:03] yuriel says Stockholm syndrome an eight-year-old kicked me in the balls and I thought if they if they told you that that about me I understand but it's was a lie about
[01:07:14] me heard a lie about me he heard he was a great person red with police ribbon reals on drugs Kevin suer says fhss what's fhss oh God YouTube why' you have to do that I gotta scroll back up fhss what's
[01:07:39] that and then Bob Bruce says fsad or something FHS oh oh oh right the other protocol the other Protocol no I don't I don't even know what fhss is Bob Bruce says Fly Sky that's the one I
[01:07:54] was looking about thinking about Chris krippin says did you try out that's fun to say Chris krippin Chris krippin Chris krippin did you try out the new RC and power 103 22000 in your
[01:08:05] testing they would add four grams to the overall build but would net you nearly 40 grams of thrust if the SPC table is to be believed first and I'm so glad you mentioned the spec table
[01:08:15] Chris do not believe the spec tables ever if nothing else then those spec tables are done by each individual different manufacturer and there is zero standardization between them we have
[01:08:31] seen such an unbelievable difference in all of the things that are measured by these manufacturers KV thrust all that stuff that as far as I'm concerned those SPC tables that those
[01:08:47] manufacturers put out are completely worthless other than comparing internal Motors so if you're looking at an RC in Power 102 versus 103 then the SPC tables might be half
[01:09:07] decent because at least they're both being done by RC and power but if you're trying to compare an RC and Power 102 to a BetaFPV 102 the spect tables are worthless all of these manufacturers
[01:09:19] seem to use completely different I don't even know controls standardization whatever it's but it's just it's real bad I have tested the RC and power 103
[01:09:34] 22000 basically they completely demolish a 1S Battery and they're I I don't you would need to run like a 650 or a 750 or an 8 or a 950 Mah 1 1S Battery to have any chance of
[01:09:55] that motor not just annihilating your battery's face I don't run like if I'm going to run a 1S rig it's going to be lightweight like that's what 1S does really well if you're going to then put
[01:10:11] a giant 850 mAh battery on it I'm going to go to 2S and I'm going to get much better efficiency for that amount of power and I'm and the motor selection is going to open up up quite a bit right
[01:10:26] because you you don't need these motors that are crazy high KV to get any power out of them so the RC and power 103 is a weird kind of motor it's a motor that I think only makes any sense
[01:10:40] on a toothpick like 2 and 1/2 in or like 3in rig but even then going up to 2S or even 3s is I think going to be a better idea that's a motor that's just going to ask way too much from the
[01:11:00] 1s from 1S voltage you could technically run that thing on 2S and just do a big ass motor limit but it's an awful heavy motor so I still have that motor here I
[01:11:18] think it's in this little build bag they're in here with a little toothpick so at some point I will revisit that motor but it's not it's a it's a weird one it's a very
[01:11:33] weird motor vpro says scabi is a meme created by Russians that openly supported the invasion of Ukraine is it really I thought it was just the dumb that teenagers say
[01:11:49] because they say all dumb things that's ridiculous and sad psych says you pronounced my nickname perfectly by the way nice I've been around I've been around the block once or twice Uriel
[01:12:05] says don't feed him so much cheese the people that I live with better not be feeding him cheese I I've been pretty hardcore on for the love of God please no one give this dog human food because
[01:12:19] he will never leave us alone and he's way better than dogs that are given human food so I don't think that they have if something falls on the floor in the kitchen by accident we we let
[01:12:32] them Hoover it but I'm pretty I feel like I'm all on my own dying on this hill sometimes but it's important notice says check my veloc drone Q please fiveish comments
[01:12:50] up for veloc drone I need to get the base license or the freestyle pack base license I I when I do these live streams I don't use other than when we used to do the combat mode streams I
[01:13:03] don't use any of the things that require extra licenses so that you guys can just do it with the Bas Uriel says can I rent the empty house from from for three months no Kevin suer says I think Bob or
[01:13:23] zotech has said before it's a minimum order quantity for a custom motor what what so that is is usually when there's a different Stater size being created
[01:13:39] in talking to people who are in the in the world of ordering Motors asking a motor company for a different KV is a is a whole different thing but because they just have to fire the machine up they
[01:13:57] just have to push a couple buttons on the machine and tell it to wind three per pole versus five or four or whatever they don't have to like retool the machine they don't have to do much of
[01:14:08] anything and so asking for a different KV is a different conversation but I still don't know if a stranger off the street asks them to do that if they be willing to do it they might still say
[01:14:22] like we can do it's 10 grand I I I just I just don't know but for a company that has been ordering motors from a motor manufacturer for them to ask for a different KV I don't know if it's
[01:14:42] free but it's B it's cheap enough where it doesn't really matter and it's basically just a time thing it's going to take them some time to do it but they will do it for not an an out
[01:14:55] outrageous amount of money Sam S with a 2 CHF Super Chat thank you so much no no comment just wants to support the madness thank you brother or brother at Frank diglas
[01:15:07] says I think the controller uses Bluetooth you're right on their product page they tout using the controller via Bluetooth with a PC or liftoff micro yep and in the
[01:15:18] application in the app on your phone you can bring up a controller and use it that's exactly what it is it's Bluetooth that's super funny Bluetooth has the same range as elrs with no
[01:15:32] antenna that's super funny good call Frank hell it absolutely uses Bluetooth why would they not do that because it gives like the perfect range for being able to find the
[01:15:44] damn thing Sam San also says Hi Ciotti is it the oh no here's here's sams's comment very cool thank you for the Super Chat is it possible that the AI limits the limits the RPM if one of
[01:15:56] the motors is damaged so much that that cannot spin as fast as the other three I run 23,000 KV but it feels like 18,000 KV absolutely samsan that is exactly what the PID Loop does the PID
[01:16:10] Loop is running at either 4,000 or 8,000 or 3,200 uh samples per second and so if if you build a rig that's got 322,000 KV Motors and one 18,000 KV motor if you go Full Throttle all those Motors are
[01:16:31] going to spin up as high as they can and immediately well not immediately but as soon as the 18,000 KV motor hits its Max the 22,000 KV Motors are going to want to keep going the PID Loop
[01:16:46] you're just giving it throttle and so the pit Loop knows that you want it to stay flat and so as soon as one of those other Motors starts to accelerate Beyond where that
[01:16:57] 18,000 KV motor can go the pit Loop is going to limit that down and it's going to happen at like 1 14,000 or 1 8,000 or 132,000 3200s of a second so it's going to be imperceptible so it's just going
[01:17:12] to fly totally normal but the least powerful motor is going to be the the end of the performance sort of envelope that it that it can that it can manage because
[01:17:25] everything that well what's interesting so if you've got like a 22,000 KV motor up here and an 18,000 KV motor back here if you do a move that fires this higher KV motor all the way
[01:17:39] up and doesn't fire this 18,000 KV motor up it could potentially do this rotation faster than that rotation it depends though because your rates are limiting the amount of rotation so you would
[01:17:54] have to have really high rates to be able to see that behavior but that's absolutely possible this happens all the time on Tiny whoops when you don't drill your propellers out and you
[01:18:07] mash them onto the motor Bell and eventually you ruin one of your motor shafts on the motor Bell the when that motor shaft starts spinning on the motor Bell the the the rig will keep flying
[01:18:22] but it'll fly like it has no power because the pit Loop is limiting down all three other Motors that aren't spinning the motor shaft on the bell and then eventually when the shaft and Bell
[01:18:32] start spinning so bad the damn thing will barely take off and so absolutely that's a possibility that is the pit Loop doing its job beautifully actually pisul 750 says how much amps
[01:18:45] for ESC on AIO are we looking for with RC and Power 102 22000 5 amps is fine you're you're getting to the limits of 5 amps so 10 or 12 amps is better but as an example the the BetaFPV
[01:19:03] meteor 75 Pro which is the heaviest and most powerful 75mm rig runs on a 5 amp AO and it runs totally fine on that 5 amp AIO so 75mm rigs you're good I'll get that later
[01:19:28] great questions guys Uriel says I'm not gonna read that I'm not gonna read that no it's not for R chonan says do you think the his singi goggles would fit on someone under
[01:19:41] the age of 10 I think that there's a better chance that the his singi goggles are going to fit on someone with a tiny little head better than any other goggles I've ever
[01:19:49] seen they are the smallest box goggles that I've ever seen there's probably an age range on the box let's see let me take a quick look where are the
[01:20:03] goggles this is the goggles what do they say well it says 14 plus so I don't know but if any goggles are going to fit on that tiny little 10e old head it's going to be
[01:20:28] these they are very small very small set of set of goggles all right it's Sim time my friends let's fire up Bloc drone get the transmitter kicked on here actually going to take the module
[01:20:56] out of it I need to make a wait a second did I carry out I did I make a make a make a profile on your transmitter called simulator and in that profile turn off the receiver turn off the external
[01:21:16] receiver turn off turn off the receiver select model let me make sure that I've actually done that on this it might just be called simulator uh what what where is
[01:21:47] it where's the thing where it says whatever I already took it so I'm going to leave it out yeah don't run your your receiver module when it's when it's in the Sim no reason
[01:22:04] for that oh God please no veloc drone is super aggressive in the way it just takes over your monitor receiver number zero nice good call that's why I couldn't see it's used to
[01:22:22] not be that it used to be different well what it was different on maybe it was it maybe it's that on edgx and it was different on open TX we're going to be flying the 5in
[01:22:35] Glide in here and name of the session is going to be CiottiFPV and we are going to go to the docks Away We Go Blue is not a color it's a status Uriel says
[01:22:56] what all right plugging a controller in USB joystick yes no controller is configured great now we're good hey what about that oh my God it is so weird to
[01:23:15] fly 5 in heavy powerful massive rigs can you fly under the boat a little bit here you can look at that oh through the world we go all right hold on let's get this
[01:23:40] let's get this going snower FPV is in here I knew Teddy was up to something he left the room and now he's now he's flying with us what a good dog what a good dog
[01:23:56] all right so let's just oh nope that's not what I wanted to do mark thank you for joining the patreon looks was a couple of days ago how did I miss
[01:24:09] that I did some shout outs earlier all right hold on there's the stick overlay all right so today we are talking about how to do trippy spins that's all we're
[01:24:30] doing today we're just only doing trippy spins and this is how you do them all right and now that you feel sick and that we've done the stupid looking move we can move
[01:24:44] on today we're working on anything other than trippy spins that was not a Trippy spin that was just a weirdly off axxis Roll All right so today we're talking about flying
[01:25:03] smooth what we're not talking about is flying like this this ain't it this ain't it this is too much this is too much nobody wants to watch this nobody wants to watch that
[01:25:25] yes that's how Racers fly but nobody wants to watch Racers fly that's too much what we're trying to do is it's going to come out in a couple different things first of all th
[01:25:38] th like a part of flying smooth is not using this much stick input not using this much rotation right so stick bang is out stick bang is not flying smooth in my opinion this is too much this is
[01:25:53] too much motion nobody can watch this only FPV Pilots can watch this and a lot of FPV Pilots are not going to want to watch this flying smooth a lot of it more more of it than
[01:26:08] you'd think comes from crashing into things comes from using lower rates Andor less stick input less rotational and that doesn't mean that it's going to be boring you can fly
[01:26:29] smooth and have it be all kinds of action-packed you're going to have to use speed depending on where you're flying and you're going to have to use moments of insane stuff but
[01:26:49] you can fly smooth in a way that's super interesting but also very watchable should have shot under that tent I saw it too late and so again a lot of this is coming from using lower
[01:27:06] rates but some of it is coming from flying with the throttle if you look at my sticks my roll my pitch and my yaw are barely changing I'm only really flying with the throttle now now I have to change it cuz
[01:27:25] I messed up the line but that whole time that we shot under that Gap a couple times came from just flying with the throttle and so if we do that again I haven't changed the sticks and now I'm
[01:27:38] doing a second massive mdty flip and now we Chang the stick position and now I can leave it here again and I'm still leaving it here and now you can make little
[01:27:55] changes that's going to happen a lot you're going to crash a lot doing this fair warning so do this in the simulator for a long time before you do this in real life and if you do it in
[01:28:08] real life use a rig that's very durable but this is one of the Core Concepts that I teach when you guys work with me is moving the pitch rolling y'all less and there's so much that you can
[01:28:31] what there's so much that you can do what is he up to there's there's all kinds of Tire smoke was he just doing burnouts and hold on is he going to do
[01:28:46] burnouts or is it just yet another Subaru that's blown a head gasket or a ringland it actually looks like a weird mix of a Subaru and an EVO it mainly looks like a karoo though so a lot of what we can
[01:29:12] do and one of the ways to fly really smooth is just to limit what you're doing on the sticks do as little as you possibly can on the pitch roll and yaw and do as much as you can on the
[01:29:28] throttle look how active I'm being on the throttle and the reason I'm being so active on the throttle is cuz I'm not moving the other sticks is that open it
[01:29:41] is so will it make it nah not even close so you're going to have to choose if if you want to fly if you want to fly super smooth you're going to have to choose either be
[01:29:56] active on the sticks or active on the throttle you're it's going to be really hard to be active on the sticks and fly Smooth you're going to have to really soften up your rates but I'm being as
[01:30:07] drastic as I can right now to show you guys both my stick over hopefully some of you are looking at my stick overlay in the bottom I forgot to kind of mention that but this is how did you
[01:30:19] see that I didn't move the sticks but I was able to completely control where I was going that that was I was kind of waiting for an example so even though I'm not moving the sticks I can send
[01:30:29] myself around this all right so let me I'll pick an I'll pick a thing I'll pick this this yellow thing right so I'm going to try to only fly around this yellow thing but
[01:30:40] I'm going to try to do it with only the throttle so I've my my sticks are in the same spot so I'm going to go thrott Full Throttle here and sometimes it's just sometimes you can't see far enough in
[01:30:52] front of yourself now I'm going to try to stay around this blue thing sometimes you can't see far enough ahead to keep that going for very long but the drill here is to use the throttle when
[01:31:05] you go towards the object and then to wait wait wait wait Full Throttle when you're going towards it wait wait wait wait wait wait Full Throttle when you're going towards it again wait wait wait
[01:31:15] see that really hard to do that is like doing this at like a really high level that's kind of what you're eventually going for is how can I do this drill and really control where I
[01:31:32] am and have some control over where I'm going when you first do this drill you're going to pick this and you're just trying to survive you're just trying to not
[01:31:45] crash so it's just don't hit stuff don't hit stuff and you're you're still going to hit stuff right so here and then leave it and you're just try to not die just try not to
[01:31:59] die oh my God just try to not die and you can see basically what that means is that when you're right side up you hit the throttle when you're upside down you don't and then slowly but surely you're
[01:32:16] going to be able to get closer to objects and you're going to be able to figure out you're going to be able to figure out where your rotation is taking you and now we're going to
[01:32:31] change ah and so just crash into stuff it's fine just crash into it's the Simulator take advantage of the fact that it's a simulator pitch forward now I gave it some thrust with
[01:32:47] the upwards just to bring it down and bring it under control I had to I would have crashed there you can throw in you can throw in a correction at the last second to Not Crash try not to for a
[01:33:00] little while though try to just let yourself crash because a lot of times you won't crash you you'll think you're going to crash but then you won't see that see that little
[01:33:10] correction with the throttle that's what you're trying to nail down and now we'll do it with just roll see I'm moving back away from it now I'm moving into it and through it
[01:33:22] wait stop myself and I have had to do that little I had to do that little hit cuz it was it was going to crash for sure but now we do it the other way no hold on we're just going to do
[01:33:32] Roll All right so we'll generate some forward momentum just roll I want to get through here and don't do I don't think I I in theory I don't have to tell you don't do this don't do it with that much that
[01:33:44] that's too much do it with slow rotations we're we're trying to fly slow and smooth we're trying to fly slow and smooth that is the idea here and we're really
[01:34:03] Drilling in every single orientation what can you do with the throttle that's too slow I was going to hit the ground and so to start just do roll just simple roll and fly around with simple
[01:34:18] roll and then do it in the other direction and then just pitch just fly around with pitch and don't just do Full Throttle don't just do what I just did that's easy it's easy to just Hammer
[01:34:40] Full Throttle use smaller blips and try to like actually move yourself around see that that you can do that with little blips and then you crash oh it does look like a new school Celica
[01:35:01] and then after you get bored of that then you can start to combine combine some Pitch some roll initially just do the diagonals just do pitch and
[01:35:19] roll and then eventually you can mix yaw in but the problem with mixing yaw in is it's hard to keep your yaw perfect while you're moving the throttle up and down in the process of doing all this
[01:35:35] you have to look ahead this is really going to drill you on that as well you have to be looking in the corners of the screen for what's coming next because when you put throttle on it's going to
[01:35:50] fire you towards these things that you're rotating into so when I'm actually doing this like right now I'm looking in the top right corner of the screen top right corner of the screen I can see the
[01:36:04] barrels now I'm looking at the top barrels are here now I'm looking at the ship on the right side the water off on the right the little buoy over there we'll visit the
[01:36:12] buoy now we're screwed ah oh wow you can go inside of it no way that's pretty cool oh it's the the light itself is is seeth through is fly through cool and this is going to slow
[01:36:37] you down when it's when you're flying here in between these ships slow let your viewer chill for a second then give him something maybe give him something else maybe jump back across it but then
[01:36:55] Slow Down slow and then give him something and then slow there's a time and a place let's see how everybody else is doing so we're going to watch Pito for a minute Pito wiggle left and right if
[01:37:14] you're listening so let's see if he wiggles look at that delay all right so Pito let's see it with just roll let's just see it with roll get get yourself some forward momentum put some
[01:37:30] roll in and hold it as long as you possibly can I don't care which direction and so I'm going to correct some things this this is not me picking on you Pito there are some mistakes that
[01:37:41] everybody makes when they start doing this I thought I was going to correct the mistake of not zeroing the throttle but he figured that out pretty quick Pito is doing a good job he bailed
[01:37:55] a second ago but that's okay he saw a crash coming let yourself crash if you let yourself crash you will do this all the way down to 1 mm off the ground and sometimes you can save it so
[01:38:08] let it crash let's get a crash he's still holding left it's good he's going to crash here comes look at that though see he almost saved it right so Let it go Let Yourself
[01:38:21] crash let's look at Raven Raven let's see it do roll yeah do let's let's stick with roll for a little while doing proximity stuff like this is almost impossible when you're working on
[01:38:34] this drill for the record so let's see it Raven just just put there you go so just leave an amount of roll in and then just try to fly with the throttle one of the easiest ways to
[01:38:44] think about this Raven twitch left and right jiggle left and right if you can hear me one of the things you can also think about this is flying with only the throttle Raven might might have
[01:38:56] just seen the room I don't see him wiggling back and forth Raven tag me in chat if you're in here vpro let's see it just roll get some forward momentum put in a little bit of roll and then
[01:39:11] just fly with the throttle wiggle left and right if okay there you go whenever I pull your guys cameras up if you can hear me just wiggle back and forth all right so okay so this is
[01:39:23] this is a common mistake vpro so what I'm not saying is roll to the side and then leave it I'm saying to push your roll stick over and leave your roll stick pushed over so that you're
[01:39:36] constantly Barrel rolling right so what you're doing now is you're rolling off to the right and then you're centering the roll stick what I actually want is for you to hold start rolling to the
[01:39:46] right and never stop rolling to the right or to the left either or so you're going to push that stick you're going to push the stick into a little bit of roll and then you're just going to leave
[01:39:57] it so that you're constantly barel rolling wiggle back and forth if you can hear me maybe he can't hear me maybe he was just wiggling vpro spectate me real quick if if you're if you're listening vpro
[01:40:15] spectate me real quick my stick overlay is on the screen this is this is a super common thing that I always forget to mention so what vpro did is he rolled to the right and then he just
[01:40:24] left it there I mean this is actually an this is an even simpler way to learn this because it's and this is going to give you practice looking at the right side of the screen or in this
[01:40:37] case looking at the left side of the screen and this is actually a somewhat valuable thing to do it's not as difficult as as what I'm showing you guys but this has some value because
[01:40:49] this is going to teach you to not fly from the center of the screen anybody that flies with with the Crosshair is going to hate this so if you're trying to get yourself out of flying with the
[01:41:01] cross hairs this is actually one way to do it because your the Crosshair is no longer your Center Point oh not I didn't have enough to not crash there so that that's actually a an interesting
[01:41:15] way to kind of an interesting drill to kind of do is to just put put an angle on and see how long can survive I actually kind of like this vpro th this is a way different thing
[01:41:31] but this actually has some value try to get really low oh God so I wanted to get over those and I but I wasn't looking ahead far enough this is this is also going to teach you
[01:41:44] guys to look ahead I actually really like this so put an angle on and now you got to look ahead what am I going to run into am I going to run into this building I think I'm going to run into
[01:41:53] the building so I got I'm looking ahead I know I got to jump over the building I would have I would have look I would have hit the building now what am I going to run into
[01:42:02] well I'm a little bit pitched too far so let me let me put the center point a little bit farther forward here we go you're not going to be able to go very far doing this right because you're
[01:42:13] just flying straight lines but this is actually a really good drill see you're going to run into a lot of that you're going to run into a lot of that stuff but I actually kind of like
[01:42:24] this to be honest let's see if I can get under here you're going to have to look ahead ah I thought that I would go underneath so this will get you used to trying to figure out your direction of
[01:42:34] travel will I go under nope I'm going to hit the purple thing this is actually kind of a valuable drill but here's what we're working on today so you guys can certainly do that I actually kind of
[01:42:44] like that that's officially in my repertoire of drills but here's what I'm showing you vpro is that you put the right roll in but then you leave your stick and you keep rolling right I had
[01:42:55] to add more or I would have definitely crashed but you leave the stick to the right and then you and what that does is it keeps your it keeps the thrust Vector moving
[01:43:08] around and it's going to give you a lot more of an opportunity to continue to fly cool so we were watching vpro I'm going to jump back onto vpro give that a shot there's going to be a little bit of
[01:43:21] a delay here and then maybe he'll come back there he is all right cool give that a shot vpro yeah yeah um so rotate a little bit more than that give it a little bit more rotation it's hard
[01:43:38] this is hard for the record this is hard stuff so push push even more keep pushing now leave it leave it leave it leave it yep and you're going to crash you're going to crash let it crash as
[01:43:48] you let it crash you'll figure out how to do this so leave it there leave it there and just fly with the throttle and so now you have to be very drastic about your throttle you're going
[01:43:58] to go from Full Throttle to zero throttle back to full throttle sometimes you'll be in the middle but then you're going to use a lot of Full Throttle and a lot of zero
[01:44:07] throttle so vpro leave it leave it leave it yep and you're going to crash that's fine let it crash and now pick another stick input you're you're trying to do a different stick input every time and now
[01:44:17] leave that leave that full throttle and then off wow there's too much of a delay for me to call it out when when I do this in Fiverr sessions we're on a Skype call so it's like instantaneous so we
[01:44:27] can kind of keep it going and so now perfect vpro perfect yep you zeroed out the throttle when you became fully inverted and now you picked it back up that's exactly it that's exactly this
[01:44:38] drill and so as you and see so now that time you didn't have enough upwards throw and you hit the ground and so vpro is doing this very gently he's doing it with a very small amount of
[01:44:53] rotational rate that makes it a lot more difficult now he's doing it a little bit faster this is going to be a little bit easier because he's going to rotate from I can't put the throttle on because I'm
[01:45:04] inverted to I can put the throttle on more frequently so this is this is a more realistic pacing that he's now chosen just from him crashing a couple times right you're all going to go
[01:45:16] through this little learning curve Perfect Dude you you let it hit good for a long time let it crash because at the very last second you you're going to hammer Full Throttle just like he just
[01:45:27] did and you might be able to save it if you bail too early you'll never know how late you can Hammer Full Throttle to catch it so for as long as you can without you getting frustrated let it
[01:45:41] fall and let it crash just and just try to save it at the last second and see what happens VPR that was awesome he's now got it schneer let's see it there'll be about like a 5-second
[01:45:52] delay I'm going to go through all of you guys and I'm going to make sure that you guys all have it those are the two big mistakes that most people make they're not active enough on the
[01:46:03] throttle and they just kind of misunderstand what's going on snower slow it down a little bit there there's a there's a balance of like rotating too slowly and rotating a little bit too
[01:46:16] fast when you rotate too fast it's kind of too easy that's perfect ner right before that crash that was perfect if you rotate too slowly it's too difficult and you don't give yourself enough time
[01:46:28] and so now we can we can we can keep people Honest by looking at their stick looking at their stick overlay when when I teach this I don't even look at what you guys are doing I just stare at your
[01:46:40] stick overlay and I try to catch you making little tiny Corrections you're going to make little tiny Corrections regardless and that is very okay when you're making a very minute
[01:46:54] correction it doesn't really show up in the flight footage and so that's perfect it's when you make a little bit of a bigger correction that you actually see the correction and then it's like well
[01:47:05] no no no no no that that again that we're trying to get out of that we're trying to get out of making constant Corrections back and forth we are swinging the ass opposite direction
[01:47:16] and we're saying no Corrections ever only fly with the throttle right so most people most people are all the way over here and they make way too many Corrections this drill is all the way
[01:47:30] over here we want you to meet in the middle so by doing this drill a lot you're going to gradually come across and then you're going to figure this out somewhere in the middle where you can
[01:47:41] fly nice and smooth or you can it's easy to make lots of Corrections why do you think we do it all the time right cuz it's easy we are now doing the super hard thing and then we're going to
[01:47:52] meet in the middle here here and that's this drill schneer you got it you just threw that big correction in but it was it was so that you didn't crash and that's okay just as often as you can see
[01:48:03] if you can let it crash if there's any chance like there that was a great example there was a chance that you could get through that gate Let It Go if if that there's no chance of
[01:48:13] you surviving bail and make a correction but as often as you can just let it hang Let It Go and now snower you're you're starting to gradually move back towards rotating a little bit too
[01:48:27] quick just slow it down ever so slightly you want to basically try to rotate as slow as you can to the point where it's kind of impossible there's a point of rotation where you have to go Full
[01:48:40] Throttle the entire time that you're upright just to keep it up in the air because you're rotating so slowly that's too slow like right now this is too slow let him do another one that's just about
[01:48:54] perfect that's about right that'll give you enough time to make corrections but not so much time so that's really good chower you got it scer let's see it scer wiggle left and right if you
[01:49:07] hear me if you're watching the stream I I I leave these these rooms open to anyone so anybody that just happens to be on velocity could jump in there he is all right scoer let's see it
[01:49:17] brother so we're if if you if you guys are beginners just choose pitch or roll if you're a little bit more seasoned you can mix them and do pitch both pitch and roll up
[01:49:30] in a diagonal Shuster is doing a bit of a diagonal right now but for the record there's no wrong answers if you want to be super simple with this only pitch or only roll if you're more advanced you
[01:49:43] can do the diagonal and mix both pitch and roll so let's give and again this is super difficult this is going to be hard that's the point so let's see it scer pick up some forward momentum pick a
[01:49:56] direction put the sticks in that direction and just leave them there give a second here to get into it so this is this is what we were talking about with I forget who it was where
[01:50:10] where we've just let the Horizon sit but we're not using any extra roll scoer spectate me spectate me real quick I'll fix that for you so all right so he just crashed and he's sitting here so I think
[01:50:21] he's spectating so scoer this is what hold on is that him taking back off no it's Pico scoer this is what you were doing this is a super common mistake you're putting it over into into there
[01:50:31] and leaving it look at my sticks ready look at the stick overlay see down here so this is what you're doing you're going like this and then you're leaving it see how you c i centered the roll
[01:50:40] stick I don't want you to Center the roll stick I want you to push over and then leave it leave it pushed over and then let it continue to rotate and you're going to crash but
[01:50:51] that's okay push it forward and leave it forward and wait wait wait wait wait and now you're upright Full Throttle I wanted to push myself backwards so I hit the throttle there I
[01:51:04] want to push myself back forwards I can't hit the throttle now I can again keep the rotation going let's see it scoer there you go brother there you go yep yep yep yep yep so that's
[01:51:17] that's only using pitch I would I would give it a little bit more push it a little bit farther to get the that's the right rotational speed yep that you want you need to have just the right
[01:51:27] rotational speed not too much not too little you guys will figure that out after you've done this drill for 10 15 minutes you'll figure out the right rotational speed and you can mix it up
[01:51:36] if if you do less less rotational speed it's harder if you do more it's easier and so mix it up for sure but there you go scoer that's it and so now there it was you zeroed the throttle your Full
[01:51:49] Throttle zero yep perfect perfect so this let me visualize this for you guys actually no we got one more likable bump wiggle left and right if you can hear me likable and we're going
[01:52:02] to watch you for a minute just to make sure that you have this nailed likable might be on a challenged internet connection he's bouncing all over the place but
[01:52:14] let's see it likable if I think maybe he shook left and right but it was all laggy pick a direction and just fly with the throttle actually he might not be likable are you
[01:52:26] watching the stream wiggle left and right if you're watching this if you can hear me liables in the oh oh he left okay so let me oh veloc what
[01:52:42] happened oh boy veloc shat the bed let me pop out and back in spectate is space bar all right out and now that room should still be up let's come back in join session game does not exist
[01:53:05] well I didn't oh wait what oh wait oh here it is it's right in front of me Jesus all right we're back is it working all right stick overlay let me visualize this for you
[01:53:25] guys real quick because it can help can I please get away from full screen veloc drone for God's sakes oh God it's 5 o'clock already all right this is the last thing that
[01:53:39] we're going to hit on I'm actually going to back out of veloc because it makes it super difficult you guys did absolutely awesome though with this I'm actually really impressed I've I've
[01:53:51] taught a lot of people that this and you guys all picked it up really quick to visualize this with the quad which always really helps you're going to have this rotation
[01:54:04] and a big part of what we're trying to figure out is that you want to be on the throttle you want to be on the throttle you want to be on the throttle you don't want to be on the throttle unless you do
[01:54:14] if you get to this point and you've got enough elevation and there's something over here that you want to go towards you can give a big ass throttle blip to get that to cover that lateral
[01:54:25] distance and then it's going to continue to continue to rotate when you get to around here you can't be on the throttle it's going to drive you into the ground too much and then so you have
[01:54:36] to and you're going to have to wait and this is going to teach patience as well you have to wait you have to wait you have to wait maybe right around now you can pick the throttle up if you have
[01:54:45] enough elevation to maybe swoop you under something and so and you're going to have to manage that on the pitch axis on the roll axis and this is really really really good practice for that
[01:54:57] when can and can't I hammer on the throttle and as you're descending as you're finishing this inverted rotation it's going to really make you figure that out because like if
[01:55:10] you're here and you're getting close to the ground and you Hammer the throttle it's going to eat that Gap up and you're going to just smash into the ground so you're going to really figure out where
[01:55:21] this point is basically you're going to figure out where this all of these points are right cuz the yaw doesn't really matter but wherever and the reason why this is difficult is because we don't run
[01:55:34] flat camera if we ran Z degrees of uptilt this would be kind of obvious right when it's like this the Horizon is sideways when it's like this it's looking at all sky when it's like this
[01:55:46] it's looking at all ground but we've got like 30° of uptilt so if we're looking at all ground we've actually got a little bit of downward angle and we're going to drive ourselves into the ground
[01:55:58] if we're looking at all Sky my hand is the uptilt if we're looking at all Sky we've actually if we're pitching back we've still got a little bit to go so we can we can Hammer the throttle even more
[01:56:12] even to the point where with with the the field of view that we can almost see the Horizon again right when you're on your side same kind of at this point the Horizon is going to be level but you're
[01:56:25] not looking straight you're looking off this way a little bit and when you're this way if you Hammer the throttle it's going to move you laterally right so it's a really really really important
[01:56:36] thing to kind of work through and spend some time on for a lot of different ways it's the biggest way to learn to fly smooth I mean the other way is to just like in your head like
[01:56:49] what I used to do before I realized this I would put in the OSD up in the corner here smooth or slow or any number of different words that I wanted to look on work on or like I had like a notepad
[01:57:03] on my phone that I would look at before I flew every time and in there would be like fly smooth and then while I'm flying I would just say to myself over and over again fly smooth fly smooth fly
[01:57:12] smooth I think this is a better way of learning that because not only are you learning to fly smooth but you're learning these different thrust vectors you're learning how long you can you can
[01:57:26] leave a stick input you're learning how low you can come to the ground before you Hammer the throttle right it's really tempting to fly safe and to not crash a lot so one of the things that
[01:57:37] like very early on that I'll work like I can see that within the first 60 seconds when when I start up a Fiverr session with somebody for flight instruction in the first 60 seconds I can tell if
[01:57:48] they're a very safe flyer or if they're Reckless as hell or if they're somewhere in between if you don't crash a lot this is a great way to force yourself to crash more because you're going to crash
[01:57:59] doing this not being able to make a correction you're just going to pound into stuff all the time and it's going to get you used to crashing and by getting used to crashing that's going to
[01:58:10] get you used to Flying closer to objects right the way to fly safe is to stay the hell away from everything and it's hard to get out of that and so you can sit there and just say like fly closer
[01:58:23] to stuff fly closer to stuff fly closer to stuff or you can work on something with something like this and it's going to teach you thrust vectors it's going to teach you to crash and get close to
[01:58:32] stuff it's going to teach you to fly smoothly right it's going to do all of these things all at once and like I said you guys are doing a really really good job do that as often as
[01:58:43] you can in the Sim it to be honest like at this point for me in the simulator this is all I do because it generates constant crashing and really hard crashing it's the perfect thing to do in
[01:58:57] the simulator I do not do this in real life it is it is it's just too Reckless if you do it in real life you got to do like a modified version of it where you bail too early because otherwise you
[01:59:07] just wreck all your in the first five minutes and the whole point of this is to not bail is to leave the sticks where they are and just see how long you can put it see how long you can
[01:59:21] you can keep from crashing I should say the next version of this is that you keep the sticks in a in a position and then when you're about to crash you move them somewhere else and
[01:59:36] then you leave them there and then when you're about to crash you move it somewhere else and then you leave it there sometimes what will happen is when you're about to crash you you make a
[01:59:45] correction and then you can put it somewhere else that's fine but the idea is that you do not not move the pitch roll or yaw at all until you absolutely have to and then you do not move it at
[01:59:58] all until you absolutely have to and then you do not move it at all until right and so you can you just constantly force yourself to maintain a rotation and fly with the throttle if if you just
[02:00:12] think to yourself fly with the throttle you will kind of do this that that is that is sort of the easiest way to kind of work through this and that's I just realized I completely
[02:00:28] forgot to explain why flying with the throttle makes your flying smooth I've talked about this a bunch but I for anybody that's new when you
[02:00:42] roll all of this propeller power two Motors and two propellers spin up hard and it rolls and the camera rotates a lot so your whole camera view goes which is super obvious when you pitch two
[02:00:57] Motors worth of power hammer this thing forward and your entire camera view and it's super obvious when you yaw it's a little bit less obvious because it's the yaw motion is produced by the
[02:01:13] centrifugal force of two Motors spinning up and two Motors breaking but your entire screen goes and it's immediately obvious the throttle so when when you roll pitch
[02:01:29] when when you roll pitch and yaw all it all the quad has to do is move the weight of everything that's out right on the roll axis it has to move the weight of these two Motors and these two Motors
[02:01:45] kind of break down on the pitch same deal on the yaw it just has to swing the weight of the motors around all it's doing is rotating the weight it's not actually moving the weight really it's
[02:01:57] just rotating oh come on Canon really I just wanted to get one more thing I just wanted to talk through one more thing man come on get it
[02:02:14] together hold on come on come on come on come on there it is there it is so roll pitch and yaw the camera view drastically changes right roll pitch
[02:02:43] y' throttle it has to a it has to move the entire weight of the quad it doesn't just have to move the weight of the motors and the props and the arms it has to move the weight of the camera the
[02:02:58] canopy the frame the AO the battery all that right it has to move all of that weight and so the on the throttle it's much slower because it has more work to do but your camera view does not
[02:03:12] drastically change so you can sit here if if you're close to the ground and you pump the throttle up and down you can tell what you can tell what's going on because the ground is like half of
[02:03:25] your frame and so as you move the throttle up and down the ground is going to do this well if you're like 2 feet in the air the ground is all the way down here so if you move the throttle up and
[02:03:36] down the ground is just going to move a little tiny bit if you're 5et in the air you can't even see the ground anymore so if you jam the throttle up and down almost nothing
[02:03:48] changes so if you fly with the Throttle No Matter What the video is going to look smooth because as you rotate around any changes that you make to the throttle are just not evident
[02:04:03] just because of how the camera is moving we're not rotating the camera we're not flipping the camera like this we're not doing this with the camera we're just moving the camera up and down and that
[02:04:14] does not change what the camera is looking at nearly as much as the other three axises and so so it's both right it's both just the nature of what happens when you change the way a camera
[02:04:27] is pointing but also because the throttle has to move the entire weight of what you're flying and it's going to be much slower moving the weight of what you're flying than just rotating it
[02:04:40] cool there you go friends practice that it makes a huge difference the the students that I work with that at at the end of our session do that for a half an hour a night by like the next time we
[02:04:54] meet they're a completely different pilot like I I I I'm not even kidding like it looks like I'm working with someone different it's wild so do it get in the simulator and fly with the
[02:05:05] throttle thanks for hanging my friends SE fv.com to support me if you like these kind of things want to see them continue I do rely on you beautiful people to keep this thing going this
[02:05:14] way I don't rely on companies that are sending me stuff and then I don't review them totally honestly because I want them to send me more stuff I they can send me stuff they canot send me stuff I
[02:05:23] don't care you guys keep the lights on so I'm G to tell you what's what be good friends I'll see you on tomorrow night tomorrow night's a giveaway stream uh join the patreon

[02:06:00] jerks I'll see you guys tomorrow night at 10 o'clock Eastern time oh no it was YouTube This Time YouTube Just shat the bed awesome be good my friends I'll see you tomorrow at 10: we'll do some
[02:06:11] giveaways it'll be great love you bye wait no I guess is it just the camera that's died or is it everything that's died here's some flight footage I don't know what it's of
[02:06:26] or oh boy the computer just okay what the hell hold on oh God what is happening what is happening here's me flying something I'm not sure what it is see you tomorrow
[02:06:44] night byebye a n n a
