[00:01:38] hey friends my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me welcome to Monday Q&A that was the drifting test RC drifting test day analog footage with the Wandering Whoop tonight we're going to do a
[00:01:56] a bunch of flying with the new newbie drone Hummingbird V4 put a bunch more batteries and a bunch more crashes into it to see if we can con sort of confirm that it's durable I am super
[00:02:08] impressed by this by this BNF though $80 on pre-order from Newbie Drones website last live stream and the live stream before there's a link in the an affiliate link in the
[00:02:20] description if you want to get one of these on pre-order $80 is a ridiculous deal I've now kind of fully upgraded it sort of I don't know if I would really go beyond this in in terms of
[00:02:33] upgrades it's already got my favorite frame the Nubran Cockroach 65 V3 it's got the 0702 30,000 KV newbie drone motors which are great props is what we're really going to look at
[00:02:48] tonight we're going to compare the most popular and the best of the propellers GemFan 1219s HQ 1.2 by.9 by3s newbie drone Azis I talked to Kelvin at Newbie Newbie Drone and he
[00:03:05] said that they've dialed in the the plastic that they use for these and they're a lot more durable now which was what typically why I didn't run Azy props for a long time so we'll try
[00:03:18] another set of these even though we kind of flew this on these props when it first on the review live stream we'll just get these into the mix cuz we're going to be changing props back
[00:03:29] and forth talking about the differences HQ ultralight 1.2x 1.2x2 by blades and the old school HQ ultralight triblades which I believe these are 1.2x
[00:03:46] 1.9x3 so these are the so the byblades are actually the pitchiest 1.2 pitch then these are the second pitchiest 1.1 then the 0.9 triblades although actually the the
[00:04:03] most pitchy are the GemFan 1219s i don't know i I don't think Newbie Drone tells you what the pitch is on the Azis but these are really like the four the the Azis notwithstanding because
[00:04:21] I I've I've had trouble with the Azis in the past the problem that I have is they're they they were kind of fragile they weren't fragile in the sense of like propellers breaking off or
[00:04:35] anything it's just that the propeller blades would bend pretty easily and then they would be out of balance and they would make weird noises sometimes i like I had issues
[00:04:46] accidentally bending the propellers when I'm putting them on just like my thumb pushing against it would push the propeller out a little bit and then it would be out of balance we'll give
[00:04:55] them a shot though now that there's a new material it could be more sort of bend resistant so we'll loop them back in but I I the Azie props have always performed well and they're nice
[00:05:06] and lightweight but they weren't quite good enough maybe they'll maybe it won't be a top four at the end of the night tonight it'll be a top five but at the moment these are the four
[00:05:17] propellers that you should have if you have a 65mm Tiny Whoop all of the HQ ultral lights all three of these are brilliant 1.2x.9 1.2 x 1.2 1.2 x 1.1 and the GemFan 1219S's these are like the
[00:05:33] absolute rockstar propellers they're they're all so good but there are some differences between them i haven't compared them back to back to back to back in a little while so I thought
[00:05:43] it would be a cool opportunity to do that so that's the main sort of plan for tonight we're going to talk about a whole bunch of stuff so we probably won't get started on that for about an
[00:05:51] hour or so we're also going to throw the newbie drone Hummingbird race version 3.1 race up in the air to compare it to the to the V4 which will be kind of fun i think which props
[00:06:10] do I have on here so the the race has the 1.2 by 0.9 by3 props on it so when I put those props onto the Hummingbird V4 I'll fly this and then back to back with this guy
[00:06:26] to see what the difference is in saving like a gram or so we'll also throw them on the scale they've both got the exact same camera mount this is the Bribrain camera mount i've been
[00:06:36] having really having really good luck with it they're both BT2.0/ A30 this is on the newbie drone light AF frame this is on the V3 frame other than that they're pretty much well the the
[00:06:50] AIO's are slightly different the Race has a little bit of a lighter weight AIO the Hummingbird V4 has a slightly heavier AIO which also has motor plugs which makes living with it a lot easier
[00:07:00] so the the Race 3.1 is like hardcore hardcore hardcore kind of raceonly rig you're also going to get to see the improvement in the OSD and the video quality on the Hummingbird V4
[00:07:14] that's really the biggest for me that's the biggest thing that I'm the most excited about with this over all of the previous newbie drone rigs you'll see exactly what I mean once we fly these
[00:07:25] so we're going to fly a bunch of batteries tonight at least six maybe more join me if you'd like h six batteries is in the stream title or whatever so get your six in today
[00:07:37] if you don't know the whole #6 batteries thing is fly six batteries a day Tiny Whoops you can put six batteries in in like 25 minutes from your desk if it's raining out if it's hot out if it's cold
[00:07:50] out it doesn't matter if you fly six batteries a day I don't care if it's on the simulator tiny Whoop whatever you are going to get so much better as a pilot like a month from now you won't be
[00:07:59] able to recognize your flight footage but you have to do it every day you have to do the six a day it's your FPV exercise so join me i'm going to do at least six today I've been
[00:08:12] getting a lot better as a pilot by flying just consistently every single day I've got a bunch of BetaFPV Lava 300mah batteries coming off the charger right now
[00:08:28] these are actually the batteries that I typically only run when I'm chasing the little RC drift cars I have like a separate set of batteries that I use for that because I don't want them to get
[00:08:39] like super abused and then I have another set of batteries that I run freestyle with that take a little bit more abuse but when I'm doing testing and I want sort of like everything to be
[00:08:52] as even as possible I do use these batteries that are kind of like chase only batteries in a weird way so that's what we're going to do in terms of what batteries we're running
[00:09:05] uh update on the memory card issue that we were having on the last live stream apparently it's a known issue that HD0 goggles if you use the initialize memory card function in these
[00:09:26] it makes that memory card unreadable on Mac computers it sounded like from the chat in the last live stream that the the new Sky Zone goggles are also doing the same thing so I I think it it
[00:09:41] seems like most of the new goggles you don't if you're on a Mac you don't want to use the initialize memory card function in the goggles what you want to do is use disc utility and you want
[00:09:57] to er well so if you if like me you have flight footage that is stuck on the memory card now it sounds like you can find a buddy with a PC and put it into his into their PC and pull the flight
[00:10:11] files off of it if you don't have access to a PC I used a program called Disc Drill d I S K D R I L L and that was able to grab all of the flight footage off of both cards that weren't
[00:10:26] mounting on the computer any any data recovery software will probably work but for the record Disc Drill is what worked for me and then what you need to do is and I'm going to try to do
[00:10:42] this without deleting my hard deleting an entire hard drive here you're gonna you're gonna format the card you're gonna erase and format the card as I believe it's ex FATMS MS DOSs
[00:10:58] let me pick a it's too creepy to click an existing hard drive and hit erase I have to do it with a memory card or else I'm going to have a panic attack maybe I'll be okay
[00:11:16] oh god that's so creepy to do that okay I did it i clicked erase so you're going to go into dis utility it's not going to mount the card is going to be grayed out over here on the left you're going to
[00:11:26] click it and then you should be able to click erase up here right you click erase and this pulls up you want to do MS DOS fat that's what it is ms DOS fat is the the format that you want your
[00:11:41] memory card to be in and then it will work in the HD0ero goggles and whatnot and it won't show up as unreadable anymore yes definitely don't erase that so that's how it works you might
[00:11:55] have some some footage that's kind of stuck on there maybe it's not worth dealing with just erase it and put it into that format and then you'll be good to go you can put it and then just don't
[00:12:06] use the the format the the initialize or the format memory card function in HD0 goggles and it sounds like in Sky Zone goggles and you'll be good to go you won't have any pains in the ass of
[00:12:21] having to use recovery software every single time you want to get your flight footage off that memory card super glad that I figured that out shout out to someone in the
[00:12:35] HDZero Discord that answered that question for me the HDZ Discord is amazing tons of really smart folks in there makes sense right like open source people are usually awesome and so massive
[00:12:52] thank you to that Discord for helping a brother out render doubles FPV notice Frank Nicholas the the J and then something Sleepy CBR Frosty Uriel Kazuma Danzilla the Terrible created by Dub
[00:13:06] Notice Uriel Render Metal Dirtkin EU Andrew Taylor Uriel Render Notice Fizz PV Yamasaur I think I got everybody thanks for coming just remember MS DOSS
[00:13:27] fat so cool i got all that flight footage off speaking of that flight footage I'm just going to start playing it so that you don't have to look at my face flapping this is the
[00:13:39] rest of the flight footage from Wednesday and Saturday at Peach Tree Drift Lounge I've I've now played all of the DJI04 flight footage this is now all of the analog flight footage i really wanted to
[00:13:59] play a bunch of this on the last live stream to give you guys a head-to-head of the ' 04 of me chasing the the drift cars with the ' 04 setup which is like 8 gram heavier versus the
[00:14:11] analog setups but we had all those problems getting the flight footage off the card and I could only play like a tiny little bit of the analog flight footage so this is all the analog flight
[00:14:20] footage now if you guys want to see the difference in performance between these two rigs basically an 8 gram difference you can watch the that last live stream from it was just yesterday I guess
[00:14:34] yesterday at 3:00 has like an hour of flight footage from the DJI build and then and now you're about to have the the analog build the long and short of it is that the analog builds are
[00:14:49] significantly lighter weight so they got they have much better run time they change directions much better they slow down much better they kind of do everything better in terms of chasing
[00:15:00] these little guys if you're going to go do this and you're doing it to have fun there's really no reason to do it with an '04 build like I guess it's kind of a little bit more fun to have like
[00:15:14] the image in your goggles be a little bit better but like if you're not gonna edit this down and throw music under it and put it on YouTube or Instagram or
[00:15:24] whatever there's just no reason you're you're paying an extra $100 for the build you're going to get like half the run time sometimes even less than half the run time the the my one analog
[00:15:37] rig i did a battery that was almost 6 minutes long on the 04 rig I get like just over two minutes so there's a there's a huge difference it is it's definitely more fun to chase them with
[00:15:52] the analog rig because it's just so much lighter and it's just so much easier to stay with them and get those really cool shots where you're like down on their door it's just a it's just weight
[00:16:02] it's lightweight man lightweight fixes everything so here you go so these f the the opening of the live stream was the wandering whoop actually which is on
[00:16:16] its way to Quad 66 now this is like a regular old Mobula 6 2024 that's it no Batwing camera mount no crazy [@$#%] uh$110 $120 or whatever modulo 6 2024 technically it's got slighter slightly
[00:16:36] higher KV motors on it but that's not if it had the stock motors on it's would actually be it would perform a little bit better than this so that's what this is to get us started here this
[00:16:50] was the Wednesday kind of like my little test day or whatever so this is what you can do with a regular old tiny Whoop you don't need a 3D printer to print a batwing mount although you
[00:17:01] really don't need a 3D printer anymore for the Batwing mounts because I've printed a million batwing mounts out now and I would love to send you one or two or 10 so buy something off
[00:17:14] my Etsy store and then put in the in the notes bat batwing me please and tell me what what camera you're going to be using and I will include and you can even throw a color in i have the
[00:17:27] full rainbow of colors and I'll throw a batwing mount into your order at some point here once I get the pictures taken the bat wings will be like an item for sale on the Etsy store but for right
[00:17:39] now if you're too antsy you can snag one and all you need is a cockroach V3 frame and then the Batwing mount slides right over the little hookers and then you're done it's like
[00:17:52] outrageously simple i have the Batwing mount for like standard cameras with standard lenses BI and all those that use that standard like kind of bigger glass lens and then I have a bat lens
[00:18:04] for the RunCam Nano3 huge thank you to Timmans for designing all of the all the bat wings they're they're Crom and Yingyang have also done a 04 batwing mount as well so if you're
[00:18:19] going to do an 04 build I got you covered there as well just let me know so all right this is Roland seatfpv.com is where you can support me it's the only way that I can keep doing
[00:18:33] this full-time and keep telling you what's good and what sucks hook a brother up support me join my Patreon buy something from the Etsy store book me for a half an hour an hour of my
[00:18:43] time through Fiverr so that you can really learn a lot very quickly get a rig like perfectly dialed in or plan your next build or we can go into the simulator and get you flying better a
[00:18:56] whole bunch of affiliate links over there change your bookmarks to affiliate links just use someone's affiliate link when you check out pretty much all websites have an affiliate program and
[00:19:06] there's a there's a merch store there's a Teespring with fun t-shirts and whatnot treat yourself get yourself some t-shirts again this is the wandering whoop in the chat if you want to talk
[00:19:20] to me type CFPV or do a super chat eu says "Thanks for the free propadial and the Etsy order got that today with my drill bits." you're certainly welcome every single Etsy order also gets a
[00:19:34] propodile thrown in there i have all the different colors if you're if there's a specific color you want let me know if not you're going to get the violet purple fizz PV says "Did five on the
[00:19:43] Meteor 75 Pro at work and then two at my park before the wind got me i'm down to one motor now then flew 4 in for two batteries before I caught the top of a tree three props." Nice dude fizz Fizz
[00:19:56] putting in the the time today very cool render says "I went to my first meet ever with a local FPV mob and had a blast just wanted to thank you for being a huge part of my journey in this hobby
[00:20:07] pumped for more meets and more friends." Very cool man i love that finding some local folks that fly is is super cool boy does that keep you sane and keep you interested and and
[00:20:20] all the good things oh what i always forget that there's a that the HC0 goggles have a mic on them this actually has like full audio i'm playing it through the
[00:20:33] speakers the problem is at some point I'm going to talk and it's going to be really loud i'm just going to turn it back down because at some point I'm going to scream and yell and it's going
[00:20:49] to everybody wearing headphones is going to stab me in the eye what else what else what else what else what else what else what else what else what
[00:20:59] else hold on drink time i'll tell you this man it is a lot more difficult to chase these guys with a regular Tiny Whoop that has the the camera up top dead center versus the versus the Batwing rigs
[00:21:22] having the camera up front down super low makes a massive difference you're you're going to see that these first like three I think batteries you're going to see the ducts in view on the
[00:21:34] bottom of the screen here bottom left bottom right when you see those ducts go away notice how much better the the flying and the footage and just it's generally gets it's
[00:21:45] I've known that like I I noticed that very early days of chasing these guys around but it's cool to kind of like revisit that and really be reminded of that so if you
[00:22:02] want to do this kind of thing it's really well worth it for you to get snag yourself a batwing mount and get that camera down low and up front i my the main thing that I think it is is
[00:22:15] that when the camera is all the way up in front down low when you're close to the ground the camera is super close to the ground and if the camera is about to scrape the ground it becomes
[00:22:26] very obvious and you blip the throttle when the camera is like an inch an inch and a half up in the middle with the ducts in the way there's just it's not nearly as obvious when you're super low
[00:22:38] to the ground about to hit's pretty wild you'll you'll probably notice it i also It also helps me not bounce up and down like I'm bouncing up and down quite
[00:22:52] a bit that actually reminds me I've I set the I set the Wandering Whoop up very very specifically for chasing these RC drift cars and then I just packaged it up and it's on its way to
[00:23:07] Quad 66 let me I'm gonna send him a message to let him know that the that the expo is cranked way the hell up cuz it's not going to be great for it's not going to be great
[00:23:25] for freestyle flying by the way I cranked the throttle expo way up because I was chasing RC drift cars with it you'll want to turn the amount down to 20 or so that's my regular
[00:24:00] freestyle setup and then do whatever you want with the tune but I'm curious what you think about my cinematic slashf freestyle rates slash setupc dot dot dot cool i typed coneatic
[00:24:35] great nothing like a little little bit of cone flying okay so we got that great farts everybody type farts in the chat it'll be It'll be fun excuse me all right so what are we doing here what's
[00:25:00] happening let's Let's let's weigh some of these props we're going to fly these props in order of No we're not well I don't know there goes farts in chat we're going to fly these in
[00:25:38] order of weight i think me thinks let's do that i'll I'll pull the Wait so the ones that are on it right now no that's silly that's silly but let's just weigh them regardless i
[00:26:06] want to know which I want to know which props are which and I I haven't weighed the Azy props in forever so I'm super curious what the what the Azie props weigh compared to the
[00:26:17] rest of these somebody type I will do it in chat and you're going to be my you're going to you're going to write these weights down for me and then once I've weighed them all you're going
[00:26:27] to put them into one chat post please the Azis four of the Azis are.72 gram four of the GemFan 1219 S's are 73 grams good god that's really close so I mean they're they're
[00:26:54] realistically the same this scale is not accurate enough four of the HQ ultralight byblades are boy 47 gram god that is really light and then four of the old school original HQ ultral lights the 1.2 2
[00:27:25] by what is it 1 by three these are 65 gram for four and then four of the HQ ultralight 1.2 by 0.9 by3s the the newest trib blades are Come on one
[00:28:02] two three four 65 grams there can somebody do one one one post with all four of those weights please thank you what did I say is on it now the old school ones right
[00:28:21] old school boy is that hard to read 31 mill they just say 31 millimeter on them so those are the pitchier all right so I don't need those i don't need that bag of props here here
[00:28:36] are the bylades 1219s Azis 1.2 by 0.9 i am going to need a set of these to put on and they might as well be pink I guess all right looks like Reagan Jurgens got me so Azy
[00:29:02] Triblades 72 1219s 73 just call that the same Azy Triblades and the GemFan 1219s are the same point 72 ultra light blade 47 crazy lightweight and then right in the middle this is cool okay so
[00:29:21] th this is this is totally cool and this is super simple there's the end of the wandering whoop flight footage watch this watch this now this is now no no duct in view batwing mount first up is
[00:29:39] the RunCam Nano3 camera with the 2G4 AIO and then at some point the image is going to get a lot brighter and that's going to be the Mobulus 6 that I turned into one of these little chase rigs
[00:29:51] with the FXT camera and the the SuperX slightly lighter weight AIO you'll notice though the the slightly lighter weight AIO has more video noise this is like pretty clean in terms of
[00:30:02] video noise there's no real diagonal banding there's a little tiny bit but it's really not bad at all this is the 2G4 AIO it's such a solid AIO lots of filtering lots of capacitors
[00:30:16] so the the GemFan 1219S and the Azis those are the heavyweights the middle weights are the HQ 31 mm which is 1.1 pitch and the 1.2x 0.9 pitch and then the light the the lightest
[00:30:34] weight are the HQ 1.2x 1.2 two by twos so that's awesome that that makes life a lot easier because we've got three different weights of propeller and the weight of the propeller is really
[00:30:50] the thing that drives like the most of the performance it a heavier prop like the pitch does matter for sure for the most part more pitch equals more power but the weight of the propeller
[00:31:05] really has a lot to do with the flight characteristics pretty much as much as how many blades it has a two-blade and a threeblade propeller are going to feel different the BBlade is going to be more
[00:31:17] slidy the triblade is going to be more grippy but then the lighter weight the propeller the better the pit loop is going to perform and it really makes a big difference especially on these
[00:31:30] little tiny whoops so if you really want to like gobble up every single bit of propw wash a really lightweight propeller is going to do an incredible job of that and you might
[00:31:40] be able to see that tonight maybe I'll leave the the PID tune alone through the prop testing the PID tune is a little bit soft right now it's like factory I think on the last couple of
[00:31:53] batteries I'll I'll I'll dial the tune in a little bit because if I crank the tune up now then all of the propellers will fly great with the tune a little bit loose a little bit
[00:32:07] soft the the lighter weight propellers you should really be able to notice them spinning up and down quicker to keep the thing from wobbling around you might not be able to see any of that
[00:32:20] because the stock tune is pretty damn good but it doesn't make any sense to tune it now we'll we'll run the different propellers through it although what if I make the
[00:32:31] tune really aggressive now if there's a propeller that's out of balance it'll become really obvious but I've run these I've run all of these propellers quite a bit well you guys
[00:32:48] pick what i'll leave it up to you i'm going to put a poll up real quick tune it now tune it dot dot dot and then it's going to be now or after there it is there's a poll
[00:33:05] you guys pick i'll either tune it now or after all right cool caught up on chat so what you're watching right now is I think it's 17 something g there you can see how much Throttle Expo I have in
[00:33:27] i was just kind of dialing it in I hadn't flown these rigs since I chased these guys on the carpet and they go much faster on the carpet so my my Throttle Expo midpoints were all wrong
[00:33:38] 17.6 gram was what you were just watching here's another battery with the wandering whoop actually this is when I thought I might not be able to get any of that footage off of that
[00:33:49] other memory card so I put a couple batteries in with the wandering whoop look at the difference look at the difference in in like elevation control and stuff should be pretty obvious
[00:33:57] but the rig that I was just flying is 17.6 gram in a minute you're going to see the image get really bright that's the the FXT camera that rig is 18.4 gram so you'll see a difference there and
[00:34:15] you should have maybe already seen a difference in the in the run times the the super lightweight rig is outrageously efficient it also has lower KV motors on it's got 28,000 KV
[00:34:28] motors on it the FXT that you'll see in a minute has 36,000 KV motors but I mean I'm not using full throttle hardly at all here okay so we weighed some props we've got
[00:34:45] the HQ ultral lights on here oh let me really quickly here's landing on the I saw that I saw that Stuart the other pilot there was landed on the had landed on the back of the pickup truck so I joined
[00:35:04] him all right check this out just super quick here are this is the Hummingbird V4 in what I think might be its final form i I don't think I'm going to change it from here Bribrain
[00:35:22] Bbrain camera mount absolutely love it's this mount saved one full gram this got one full gram lighter by just putting this mount on and this is a 25 degree mount which is kind of perfect
[00:35:36] 25 degrees is the lowest uptilt for his mount and it's just about perfect and then I took the two stock antennas and I just put a piece of shrimp wrap around them to give them a little bit more sort
[00:35:51] of solidness and to keep them like even if this bends down they're not really going to go in the propellers hopefully but I did put like a little bend upwards and it's been totally fine the
[00:36:02] the long antenna that's sticking out that's the ELRS antenna the the 5.8 antenna is actually inside this shrink wrap here and so it just kind of keeps those two antennas
[00:36:14] together no big deal very very cool at some point what I could do is like E6000 it to the back of this mount right there or it would actually be super cool if there was a version of this
[00:36:26] mount with a little hooker on the back just like a tiny little molded in little little snatch i don't know and then you could kind of clip it in but I mean just a simple drop of E6000
[00:36:41] here and then push this up against it and let it cure overnight and this antenna is not going anywhere but even just putting that little angle in it this is this is totally
[00:36:51] fine and that's pretty much it man you don't really need to do a lot to this it flies great out of the box these motors make great power Newbie Drone uses their kind of a different plug for
[00:37:02] their motors and so it makes changing motors a little bit more difficult but these motors that it comes with are great the the Hummingbird 0702 30,000s are a great motor HappyModel motors are a
[00:37:20] little bit more efficient but it's not that much more efficient and these are actually a ball bearing motor which is kind of cool so nothing wrong with these motors you're maybe
[00:37:28] sacrificing like 20 seconds of run time if that Moss one i literally just said what the canopy was like 60 seconds ago it's the Brirain it's on Thingiverse b R I B R A I N great great great mounts they
[00:37:48] don't look like they would be as solid as they are but boy are they solid super impressive it's just it's designed in a way where the the supports are just well thought out just the way
[00:38:06] that the supports push down into the mounting points it keeps the mount really rigid when when you put a bunch of force up when you crash inverted right which is where you can kind of
[00:38:17] kill those mounts pretty easily all right so well there's a bunch more footage that I sort of want to let play let's Let's get out of this let's get out of this wandering whoop footage because
[00:38:33] it's not as good this is another wandering whoop battery that I put in and all right now we're to the Well let's see i held it up on the phone all right so this is the
[00:38:44] RunCam Nano3 rig you can kind of tell by the the lack of contrast but what's actually it's if if you're going to like when you're flying through it you don't necessarily notice that there's not much
[00:39:03] contrast you just kind of adjust to it and I mean you can even make an adjustment on your goggles to push more contrast in and then like when you look at like DLOG or RAW footage it's
[00:39:16] low contrast like this and then in post you can crank the contrast up that's a much better scenario it's a much better scenario for the camera to not push too much contrast in
[00:39:29] than to push too much contrast in cuz when there's too much it's much harder to back it out than if there's too little contrast pushing it in in post so it's weird like the RunCam Nano 3 is
[00:39:42] kind of a better bet if you're going to edit and color correct analog footage which is an insane thing to do and nobody really does but I do every once in a while so this is
[00:39:57] now Saturday lots of insane drivers here it's cool the the much like with full-size drifting the better the drivers the faster they go the more consistent they are the easier they are
[00:40:11] to chase so I was able to like really settle down here of course you got to ham it up when there's a camera pointing at you that's just an absolute requirement this car was super cool i
[00:40:23] think it's when he's on the brakes the the the the head and tail lights seem to do different flashing patterns when he's on the brakes versus when he's on the gas I think maybe not but very
[00:40:36] very cool double cameraman action I think I played this flight file on yesterday's live stream at the beginning of the end let's dive into this one
[00:40:49] here i think this is the same this is the same rig what else can I talk about oh something kind of interesting about the the the project top spin motors so two things two things about the new Tiny
[00:41:13] Whoop project top spin 0702 motors although I guess you can get them in 802 as well but so I I I have a set of the 0702 36000s in the new design and I put them onto the 04 drift car
[00:41:31] chase rig and I noticed that the propellers were hitting the the propellers were sitting under the duct and they were hitting the supports and I realized it's because the bell design on
[00:41:43] the top spin motors doesn't have the C clip on top of it and so the the propeller ends up mounting a full millimeter lower the the project top spin motors are about 0.1 g
[00:42:00] lighter in order to get the prop to spin around the inside of the duct properly you got to run a 1 millm spacer to bring the the prop height back up the weight of a 1 millimeter spacer and the
[00:42:14] slightly longer screws that you need is 0.1 gram so the project top spin motors are not a big deal it's just that you need to get some some motor mount spacers tiny Whoop sells them so you
[00:42:29] might as well just buy them when you're buying your top spin motors I also have them on my Etsy store if you need them and then then you're going to use if you put these motors into a
[00:42:41] cockroach V3 or light AF frame you're not going to use those ultra short screws that it comes with you're going to use regular old motor mounting screws and then you're going to use those 1
[00:42:52] millm spacers and then you're going to be golden if you try to put these project top spin motors into any other frame you're going to have to get longer screws you're going to have to get like
[00:43:04] M1.2 2 by five I believe it is screws i actually also have those on my Etsy store so that's the deal with the project top spin motors they are significantly shorter and so
[00:43:24] you're going to have to run motor spacers with them personally the the motor spacer thing is just a little bit annoying so I'm going to just covet my old school motors that have the the C
[00:43:36] clip on top it doesn't matter the weight evens out it's just at some point once I have destroyed all of those I'll I'll switch over to the top spins because it is nice that the top spins have the
[00:43:53] have the unslippable motor shaft the other thing so that was the first thing about the project top spin motors the second thing about these motors is Monkey
[00:44:07] Dluffy put these onto a build he put the 082s 25,000 KVS onto a build and he did not pay attention to the to the directionality right like we've talked about this the HappyModel puts a little
[00:44:23] red dot on their connector if that motor is counterclockwise and then they don't put a red dot if it's a clockwise motor well with the I got that backwards red dot is
[00:44:41] clockwise no red dot is counterclockwise well the project top spin bell design has these little V's in it and the V's point in the direction that that motor wants to spin Monkey Duffy put a set
[00:44:58] of these on his rig and they said that they weren't flying all that well White Fox commented that they're spinning the wrong direction he saw in the picture that the little the little
[00:45:10] V's on the bell were going like backwards so basically what what what Clevy did is he just hooked the motors up didn't pay attention to the red dot or the bell and then he went into Beta
[00:45:21] Flight and he did the motor direction wizard and got some of them or maybe all of them spinning in the wrong direction when when White Fox pointed that out he went back took the motors off put
[00:45:34] them on there properly so that they're spinning the right direction and he said the performance got significantly better I I have a funny feeling something else might have been wrong but there's a
[00:45:51] chance that because of these little V's if you look at like so there's something called a Naka duct NACA duct that's very commonly used in motorsport it's like one of the most
[00:46:07] if not the most efficient way of taking air off of a flat surface and bringing it inside so you'll see a lot of race cars that run nacaducts like on the side windows and then there'll be a
[00:46:20] hose hooked up to the inside of it and then that hose goes to the driver's helmet or the vents or something a nacaduct it's got a shape that's kind of like this it's kind of like
[00:46:34] a triangle not exactly but it's sort of somewhat triangular shaped and a lot of people and the the way that the nacaduct works is that the the skinnier part of the triangle by
[00:46:48] my fingertips here that's on the leading edge and then it gets bigger down towards the back where where my palms are right so it makes roughly this shape the correct direction to spin these
[00:47:03] top spin motors is so that this shape is going forward and so what I have a hard time believing it because there's very little air gap between the bell and the stator and so I I I I'm it's hard for me to
[00:47:23] believe that it's producing an an appreciable enough amount of air flow down through the motor but here's what's interesting the Korea RIA Korea Ria motor I don't know if that
[00:47:38] was the name of the motor no the motor was called the Korea Ria it had the the spokes on the bell were the same kind of deal it was set up like a fan and someone tested it i don't
[00:47:53] remember who it was but they showed something they they showed that compared to it made a difference it wasn't a big difference but it was some sort of a difference and so that
[00:48:07] supports these top spin motors wanting to be spun in the correct sort of direction i'm still super I don't I don't know about that but look there's no reason to not
[00:48:23] spin them in the correct direction so spin them in the correct direction that's it the end i ran these top spin motors on a rig i didn't pay any attention to the directionality of them spinning
[00:48:39] and they flew exactly like the other motors that were on the rig the the the old school design motors which don't have any kind of a directional vent in them for the top so I don't
[00:48:55] know look maybe it matters maybe it doesn't if you get Project Top Spin motors absolutely make sure that you're spinning them in the correct direction it's easier that way anyway because you
[00:49:06] don't have to use the motor direction wizard in BetaFlight you can just plug the motors in and go so pay attention to the to the little the little arrows on the top of the motor
[00:49:18] you want them speeding spinning with the leading edge forward like the direction that the little arrow points that's the way that you want it to spin and maybe it'll help maybe it won't do
[00:49:29] anything there you go okay these batteries are good pop these off the charger here we're going to get started in just a minute i don't think I'm going to let all this footage play what was I doing
[00:49:53] there was I moving the PIDs around there that's weird maybe I wasn't maybe I was in the rates tab and I just didn't recognize it we are now flying the FX i think this is the FXT rig it looks
[00:50:11] a lot brighter see that i got a little bit of oil or something on the lens wasn't that kind of interesting see it i brought it back in and wiped it off no this is still the the Runcam
[00:50:24] Nano3 rig I think there you go this was super fun man having this many like really really really top-notch drivers was pretty rad i I wish that I'd had a little bit more time
[00:50:43] to kind of practice before this because it is it is hard it is hard to fly this slow I am having to adjust for sure and just get better but that's f like chasing the like
[00:51:01] one of the best parts about chasing these RC drift cars has been how difficult that it is and so for the difficulty level to have now gone up because they're going the slower speeds
[00:51:13] on the polished floor like I'm not complaining about that it's I'm just being hard on myself now we're definitely flying the the rig with the FXT camera this is the Mobulus 6 2024
[00:51:25] there is noticeably more diagonal banding a little bit more video noise on this and the FXT camera is more contrasty and slightly brighter i think that previous battery was also on this
[00:51:39] rig but you see it there see those the horizontal kind of lines little bit annoying 2g4 my friends HappyModel 2G4 AIO it's the one you want a little bit heavier but unbelievably
[00:51:52] reliable and durable and plenty of capacitance for crystal clear terrible looking analog footage well analog video I should say Yamasaur says "Do you think the Hummingbird V4 will have better
[00:52:08] durability than the V3 i killed three of the boards in less than 30 batteries." my Hummingbird V3s all died within the first couple batteries I've put more batteries through this V4 already
[00:52:21] on the stream the other day I think I put like four or five batteries through it so I I think it is already more durable than the V3 but tonight we're going to put a bunch more
[00:52:31] batteries through it so if it survives the night tonight that'll be a really good sign speaking of hold on let me go let me go set the the LED gate up i want to let it like I said earlier
[00:52:44] I want to let as much of this footage run as possible because I'm sending links of these live streams to all of the drivers so that they can watch like all of the raw flight footage you
[00:52:54] know when I do the edit with this footage it'll get cut down to like a minute and 30 seconds right so that they won't have like they'll have like two seconds at a time of themselves
[00:53:04] speaking of edits I finished up the the 4K flight footage edit from the test day last Wednesday of flying I finished that up earlier today tomorrow that will go up on YouTube and
[00:53:20] Instagram so make sure you're subscribed here on YouTube and look me up on Instagram instagram there'll be a 43 version of the edit in [@$#%] 10 1080 quality youtube there'll be a 16 by9
[00:53:34] version of the edit in 4K full-blown 4K and then patrons for three whole dollars a month you're going to get a YouTube full quality 4x3 version of the edit as well same thing as the as the 120
[00:53:50] frame per second footage i mean hell patrons have been I haven't even had a chance to put up the 120 frames per second edit on YouTube but the patrons have had their for the 4x3 version of it
[00:54:02] that they've been able to watch for like the last week so at some point I'll put that 120 frames per second 16 by9 edit up on regular old YouTube there we go i said all the things here's a little bit
[00:54:18] of audio hear me hooping hooping and hollering be right back i got to set some gates up speak me from the past say something i'm so focused i'm not talking all
[00:55:27] right all right almost ready there we go damn okay I'm back look at that 36,000 KV072 power there again this is basically a Mobula 6 2024 with a batwing mount and a frame swap and a motor swap 072 36,000 KV
[00:56:04] motors the rig with the less contrasty camera is an old school Mobulus 6 with a with a motor swap 0702 28000s batwing mount and a frame swap as well same cockroach V3
[00:56:18] frame j okay one more question in chat a little a little bit of this a little bit more of this play James Thomas says "So with BetaFlight and changing the wire for motor direction what's the deal with
[00:56:31] the dots can you not change direction on HappyModel Motors?" Nope you can absolutely change direction but on the new top spin motors you want them to spin in the correct direction the the
[00:56:44] red dot on the motor plug is for motors one and four the no red dot on the motor plug is for motors two and three although that is props in if you're going to go props out it's the other way
[00:56:58] around strike that and reverse it the red dot on the plug well look it doesn't don't worry about the the dots on the plugs if you have project top spin it only matters if you have the top spin
[00:57:17] motors and if you if you do just look at the top of the motor look at the bell and there's a there's an arrow you want if your props in if your props out make sure that the arrow is spinning forwards
[00:57:28] that's it super simple don't worry about the red dots all the red dot means is that two of the wires have been crossed on the red dot two of the wires are crossed no red dot the wires aren't
[00:57:39] crossed that's how you reverse the direction of a of a brushless motor is you take any two of the wires and you reverse them HappyModel does that for you and then they put the red dot or
[00:57:49] they don't put the red dot to let but on the old motors there were not directional veins in the bell so it didn't matter which way you spun the old motors but these these new motors it
[00:58:02] might matter it's might not i'm not sold on this and I don't know if I'm going to test it either because it just doesn't matter like you should set the motors up so that the arrows are are
[00:58:17] pointing forwards and that's it just look at them when you're putting them on and put them in the right spot if you I will say this if you do it wrong if you have top spin motors and you
[00:58:29] accidentally do it wrong do everyone a favor and do like try to be as scientific about the testing as possible like really try to get the placebo out don't just like oh this don't go into it
[00:58:43] like this is definitely going to make a difference go into it like totally agnostic and if you put them on wrong fly a bunch of batteries with them spinning the the wrong direction
[00:58:55] for the veins and then swap it and fly a couple batteries and let us know if if you can tell a difference try to get some run times see if see if you can figure that
[00:59:06] out but if you get the top spin motors there's absolutely no reason to not have them spinning the correct direction so just do it do do it the right way and then you're good
[00:59:22] what's happening in chat man I am behind on Discord messages if if you've messaged me on Discord and you haven't heard back I apologize I'm just Boy is it hard to keep
[00:59:36] everything to keep everything up to date Lava 2S 3S 4S what is this somebody posted in chat most significant revolution in 1S Whoop drones what is this 450
[00:59:55] mAh with the lead there we go look at the look at this on the other monitor no it's just an XT30 battery there's nothing extraordinary about it i think somebody was just somebody in my
[01:00:11] Discord was just posting a link to it look at that that's all the flight footage perfect all right awesome so there it is that is every bit of flight footage that I got from Petri Drift
[01:00:22] Lounge last Wednesday and Saturday between yesterday's live stream and today's live stream there we go and look at that it's 11 o'clock how perfect newbie drone and Hummingbird
[01:00:38] V4 full review and some upgrades from yesterday's live stream the long and short for $80 it's insane out of the box it's a little bit heavy the the mount that they have the new school
[01:00:52] goober mount is about a gram heavier than a even a like fullbodied kind of TPU mount there are TPU mounts that are lighter than this Brirain mount you could bring the weight down even more
[01:01:08] but I'm going to definitely recommend that you swap to this Brirain mount I'm going to have these available on my Etsy store soon enough this will save you a full gram
[01:01:22] and this mount will never break the Goober canopy is like a hard plastic if you smack that against something like really really hard like concrete or something hard enough you will
[01:01:34] break that goober canopy so I think this bribrain mount you'll you'll get a little bit more durability as well the only thing I don't like about this bribrain mount is it kind of pushes up
[01:01:46] against the the camera connector in the front when you put a camera connector that far forward this is going to be a problem with pretty much all mounts i didn't happen to notice if the Goober
[01:02:01] mount did this same thing i have to assume that it did though because look at the width of the screw head and then look where that that camera plug is there's like a nothing gap in between
[01:02:15] the two it still flies totally fine like this and frankly I would rather have TPU pushed up against it like this so I I think this is actually going to be fine there's not like a
[01:02:28] specific force being put on that camera plug but if I have to find something about the Hummingbird V4 that I don't it's that the camera plug is all the way far forward whether or
[01:02:42] not that'll be that'll be an issue at any point I have no idea my guess is going to be no but you never know other than that I am blown away by this by this
[01:02:54] AIO so let's fly it oh perfect i'm going to run the HD0ero goggles with the memory card in them i'm not going to initialize it and we will
[01:03:11] we will see if I can get the footage off of it i I I erased the card and I put it in the fat MS DOS format and so should be good to go but we'll find out for sure i
[01:03:24] still need to get my ass to a vinyl wrapping place and see if they'll put the the cool 533 wrap on this on these things okay where we at
[01:03:47] here here we go i mean that's been playing the whole time cool so first up is the newbie drone Hummingbird V4 with the old school HQ YOLO props is what I've been calling them they are 1.2
[01:04:08] 2 in in diameter by 1.1 pitch by three three blades these are the middle weight propeller and we're going to go 300mah lava batteries cool away we go teddy heard it he's
[01:04:43] interested wow there is like no duct in view with this bribrain mount it is 25 degrees 25 degrees up tilt which is a bit much i I I wish there was a 20 degree version of this
[01:04:57] mount but sometimes in life you can't have everything and that's okay makes you appreciate when you can have cool things come on Elos there you go fizz says "If you were close enough I
[01:05:15] would rap it for you." You do the you do the vinyl wrap stuff shit's crazy man oh man i just bumped the goggles and they restarted there we go all right hold on goggles are coming back on the the
[01:05:31] barrel plug was not plugged in enough come on HDZ goggles you can do it i I want to do the the the update to the goggles apparently they boot one full second faster with the with the
[01:05:46] new firmware pretty cool stuff okay hitting the I I've set these to they wouldn't they they refused to autorecord for whatever reason on Saturday so I went and I turned the
[01:05:59] autorecord thing off and so now I have to remember to hit the button oh my god what's up spaghetti man what's up senior spaghetti look at them scraggly little eggs
[01:06:18] buddy so these are the HQ yolo props i really like these on builds where I want grip oh god builds where I want grip oh thus the triblade but at the same
[01:06:49] time I want a little bit of extra pitch so a lower KV motored build or a heavier build so this is the HQ ultralight prop that I run when I want grip and power this is the 1.2x
[01:07:09] 1.1 we also have the 1.2 by 0.9 little bit less pitch that's for higher KV or lighter weight rigs i didn't quite make it in into that into that gate over there that was embarrassing hold on let
[01:07:26] me get the OSD on for you yikes slapped it on the ground pretty good there oh god that was a big hit uhoh your boy gonna have to take the walk of shame
[01:07:43] watch yep [@$#%] wait a second it's right it's somehow right side up hold on nah I'm taking the walk of shame god damn it all right well that was a pretty good hit and it's still lives
[01:08:32] all right Teddy Spaghetti is choosing a toy going to bring it down to me as he always does full room power loop there we go let's come back on down so you're going to notice a little
[01:08:59] bit less run time than most of my other rigs that's just because the HappyModel motors are weirdly efficient these motors even though they're only 30,000 KV
[01:09:16] everybody other than HappyModel uses a different method of measuring KV happy Models method of measuring KV you end up with a much higher KV number in comparison and so these newbie
[01:09:34] drone 30,000s are probably the equivalent of like a HappyModel 36,000 in terms of power but you still don't get the the same amount of run time so don't look at the run
[01:09:49] time and look at like 30,000 KV and be like "Oh my god those are the least efficient motors ever." these are these are pretty close in power to like I said like a 36,000 or
[01:10:03] maybe even a 40,000 KV HappyModel motor but on both of those HappyModel motors I'll usually get over three minutes of run time let me run another battery through this there are a
[01:10:17] couple of these batteries that are sort of struggling so I'm going to try to do two batteries on every set of props here just so it's totally fair and the the antenna got a little
[01:10:36] bit like bent downwards and just super simply bent it back up and then I'm just going to put a little bit more of an up angle in the in these two wires in the two antenna
[01:10:50] wires there we go that's nice cool i am super impressed by this by this $80 build hold on what's on the lens i got smack on the lens hold on oh what it is it's Teddy
[01:11:14] [Laughter] Drool that's better and my god the video quality it's just you can just you can see you can see where you're going look at that look how contrasty that is it looks
[01:11:31] great oh my god oh my god oh god no is the camera level it is camera's level oh come on now that was just the simplest little glip glop oh I've bent a
[01:12:01] propeller oh or something's rubbing hold on something ain't right though I know it's a bent propeller i just I smacked it good and hard which which prop is
[01:12:15] that left rear oh i can see it one of the blades is all bent out of shape that should be better yep sounds better okay oh no oh god get out of there okay lot of power man still on the
[01:12:38] stock tune oh I put that pole up and then I didn't look at the results of the poll i hope you guys wanted me to tune it later because that's what we're doing now hold on let me look at the
[01:12:52] poll after 56% said after good good idea guys good idea after that's the way to go oh god oh no oh come on let me out let me out of here let me out of there thank
[01:13:14] you oh god okay hold on something ain't right it's me i'm not right yikes okay what what oh my god come on now oh it's stuck that got stuck in a way that it'll never get stuck like that
[01:14:04] again oh boy a little bit more and then we're going to switch props oh boy oh boy was that sexy looking hi came to see me all right this battery is almost done oh [@$#%] Teddy going to eat
[01:14:33] me little bit of rail gun but on the other side I prefer doing the I prefer do I prefer I prefer doing the rail gun over here nope oh that was like a half a rail gun there
[01:14:55] we go there's the end of the battery so we got to like two and a half minutes not bad the Look for 80 bucks the run time is good enough and it's the same runtime that you're going to
[01:15:07] get from like the the the BetaFPV stuff everything but the HappyModel stuff if you really care about runtime get this and then desolder the motor leads from these motors and solder
[01:15:19] them on to HappyModel motors and away you go you'll be all set but I like these motors a lot they are they are strong they make really good power okay
[01:15:43] hq 31 millimeter is what these props are usually called what they actually are is 1.2x 1.1 by 3 they've been out for a while they're a great choice they just work and they
[01:16:00] they're I'm I think they're sort of the best allarounders they're not the most pitchy they're not the lightest weight they're they're they're just like they're they're the middleweight option
[01:16:15] they have good pitch good power they're they're the all-arounders they're they're the best all-around prop right now i think the the most similar propeller to these is
[01:16:28] the 1.2 by 0.9 by3 little bit less pitch basically the same weight less pitch is going to allow them to spin up and down faster so you're going to get slightly better pit loop
[01:16:42] performance but you're not going to get as much power and top speed out of them and so we shall put these right here and then so let's run those next actually no let's go to
[01:17:16] We'll do the most no we're going to bounce back and forth so these are the middle of the road props now we're going to go to a heavy prop let's go to the GemFan 1219s let's
[01:17:28] do that this is the most pitchy 19 pitch 1219 and this is a heavier propeller it's just it like noticeably heavier so let's run these next this is not absolutely brand new
[01:17:53] there's a couple little little marks in the leading edge that's fine though because they're going to get banged up within a battery the way that I fly and crash so this is okay but for the record
[01:18:07] if these are not perfectly balanced it's because they've been flown before and I put them back in the bag cuz I'm a cheap bastard ethx says "I recently bought the Goku 1 to2s AIO HDV2 thank you for the
[01:18:23] recommendation the only issue is that birectional DSHO won't work with Blue Jay flash to the ESC's BetaFlight gives 100% error." That's weird what version of Blue
[01:18:36] J i mean it shouldn't matter though that's super weird although there's a couple of maybe there's just one but there's at least one BetaFPV AIO where you can't use Oh no birectional DSHO works it's
[01:18:57] it's the digital idle that doesn't work that's super weird there's no real fix for that it either works or it doesn't well make sure that you're giving it power make
[01:19:10] sure that you're it's going to show 100% error until you plug a battery into it hopefully that's the problem because that's an easy fix all right i shouldn't need to
[01:19:27] charge batteries GemFan from now on GemFan 1219S propeller let's see if I can tell a difference now it's all red and purpleit's all CFPVed out surprise look at
[01:19:50] him a cartoon character buddy you got to grow that hair out on your legs man you look terrible like this you got that big beautiful schnowzer head and then scraggly little legs
[01:20:05] because your fur got all matted and we had to have him be shavey all the way down wow he looks so silly look at it look at him he's really intense let's see what happens when I arm it ready
[01:20:22] doesn't care i'm going to give it a little bit of roll ready here he's going to go crazy oh eat it oh boy oh boy he didn't oh boy okay GemFan 1219
[01:20:47] S's they are all right well here's They're not spinning all the way down all right so this is kind of unfair because the propellers are just straight up not balanced right now and
[01:21:04] it could very well be because of the banged up ones that I put on so hold on let me spin each prop up and see if there's one that's drastically out
[01:21:16] one prop number two okay no it's just not fair to evaluate them so hold on let me I have to switch these out for for fresh ones it's just not cool so what
[01:21:38] this also kind of means is that I don't know if I'm going to be able to push the pit tune very much because these props didn't look that banged up and it's already having problems
[01:21:52] with the tune and so I think this tune that it came with is probably about as good as it's going to get hang on a second i'm going to put this battery back on the charger so that it's fresh
[01:22:09] we didn't really learn anything from that let me just look at these props real quick they see that one's banged up too all right i need to pick a fresh set of these propellers here hold up
[01:22:20] make sure I put a brand new set of these 1219 S's on just to make sure that they get a totally fair shot so here we go we've got a gray one is this one fresh it is indeed that's high left we
[01:22:42] got another gray one high right is this fresh nope this one's banged up right side high this one's fresh cool right side high this one's fresh great and then left side
[01:23:01] high awesome okay now we're good to go so if I put these on and it keeps doing what it was just doing then basically these GemFan 1219S's are not as well balanced as the Azis
[01:23:23] which came on this as well as the HQ ultral lights so let's take a look i'm not having to drill these props out and they're dropping right onto these motors perfectly which is
[01:23:44] great i just put the wrong prop on the wrong motor come on one of the only one of the other things I did to this is I moved it to props in props in in my experience drops
[01:24:00] elevation better on cinnowoops and ducted rigs so I just use it on everything at this point that has any kind of a prop guard on it there we go okay fresh 1219
[01:24:16] S's let's try this again teddy it's not the toy brother you don't have to bring me different toys i'm not playing with you because I don't love you it's a It's an issue of
[01:24:35] love or lack thereof oh wow see it floating these are not as well balanced i'll be damned we'll still fly them oh boy it makes flying it hard so one of the ways that you can fix that
[01:24:57] issue is just to grab the master multiplier and turn it down see it's at 1.0 i'm going to move it down to 08 and so now the pit gains are drastically lower wow it's still not spinning them
[01:25:16] down though that's weird oh for God's sakes well I'm going to push that back up i guess it just has a high idle jeez gemfin 1219 S's they feel I mean they are
[01:25:54] heavier whoa they are a heavier propeller and so it just doesn't feel quite as crisp it does have good power though 19 pitch is a lot it doesn't necessarily feel like
[01:26:18] it has much more power let's throw another battery at it wait we're only like a minute into this battery this is not that same battery that I had on a minute ago this is a fresh one it could just be
[01:26:39] a battery that's on its way out though these props don't sound as good like it sounds like the motors are rattling more with these props whoa what was that i think it I
[01:26:58] think one of the props just flew off actually to check that you go into turtle mode and you push Yep left front propeller has parted ways with the motor hold on hi Teddy what are you
[01:27:19] doing oh no the prop is still there oh boy uhoh what has happened left oh god the left front motor is barely spinning why is that what has happened to you little friend
[01:27:36] we got to two minutes we could have probably All right so the the runtime seems fine but something's happened to the left front motor let's see if I can see what's going on
[01:27:52] here what has happened to you little fella well there's a there's a hair that's wrapped around it in a weird way that shouldn't be it but let me just get that out of there
[01:28:07] first and foremost first let's see if it's spun the propeller on the bell it shouldn't have oh but it might have hold on let's get the the prop off no no something's going on with the motor the
[01:28:27] motor won't spin even with the prop off here's this hair all right the hair is off of there why is the motor doing that the motor is like really hard to turn i have no idea
[01:28:43] why what's your deal what is happening so the C clip on the bottom This is not binding up let's look at the top of the motor what happened everything looks fine i'm going to pull the stator up and
[01:29:21] then push it down a couple times no man it is unhappy hold on let's take the motor off and see what's going on hold on let me power these goggles down turn this transmitter off and
[01:29:49] let's take a look so it is motor number four always use tweezers to pop these plugs off never just pull them by the wires sorry guys wrong camera okay all right what's happening with you
[01:30:12] little friend let me take another quick look at it with the 5x loop what's going on with you motor oh boy it is hard to spin the hell happened there's no hair the hair situation is totally
[01:30:39] fine oh what no there is a hair wow a hair a hair has managed to get inside the motorbell and wrap itself in between the bottom wow that's insane this is ab This is
[01:31:01] just a super random thing i've actually never seen this happen before but a hair got inside the bell and it's between the top of the bell and the and the bearing or the
[01:31:16] bushing usually i thought these motors were bearing motors but they might not be okay so I just got to like dig that out that's just insane but I can very specifically
[01:31:31] see a purple Florence hair in here that has managed to get itself in like the one spot where it would actually matter i'm trying to do this without taking the bell off but I think I'm going to have
[01:31:51] to take the bell off although hold on oh god the sharp tip tweezers just hit me in the crotch hold on here's the here's part of the hair see if I can grab it and get it up
[01:32:02] and out come on man wow now that is just Oh there okay so I got it i got it up and out now see if I can use these to grab it and pull it out of there without having to take
[01:32:28] the motor apart all right come on there it is got it and come off come out of there come out of there you all right so the hair just broke
[01:32:44] no it's still in there damn okay well here's how you take one of these motors apart i mean that had to happen at some point super annoying that it happened right now but it was going to happen at
[01:33:00] some point so you got the C clip on here that the admittedly the HappyModel motors are a lot easier to take apart the problem is the C clips are so big the reason they're easier to take apart
[01:33:10] is because the C clips are so big on them the fact that the C clips are so big the C clips kind of rub on the on the plastic frame a little bit so this this is going to be
[01:33:22] rough so you get the C clip rotated in a way that you can put just the jaws on the two open bits and then the other side of the jaws on the actual motor shaft oh boy in this case I can't get
[01:33:39] that that usually works on the HappyModel Motors it won't work on this motor what you're going to have to do is get the jaws on the opening this is going to probably shoot this C clip into outer
[01:33:48] space but you get it and then push through oh nice it didn't didn't vanish there we go wow I got lucky on that one okay so that that's going to be a nightmare to get back on
[01:34:03] there but there's the C clip and now you take your finest tipped tweezers and this this right this thumb on my left hand here I use it to try to keep this stuff from firing up off of here into
[01:34:20] outer space and so that's terrible for you guys cuz you're not going to be able to see anything but that's what I'm doing so we've got a plastic washer down here pick that up remove that and then
[01:34:32] we've got Okay so these are not bearing motors these are bushing motors that's totally fine the HappyModel motors are all bushing motors and they're my favorites nothing wrong with not
[01:34:44] putting bearings in these motors and there is the problem that is crazy it was going to happen at some point i can't believe it happened it took this long to happen so
[01:35:03] there we go that was the issue that's wild I'll be interested to see if that happens again so there is a plastic there is a plastic washer on the top here just like there is on the
[01:35:19] bottom so that's good so now to put it back together it's just the reverse but make sure you don't lose that little plastic washer put it back on there get rid of that
[01:35:32] hair and then fine tipped tweezers to pick up the plastic washer if the camera is completely out of focus for all this I apologize trying to find a camera to that works
[01:35:48] for this kind of stuff is incredibly difficult what I really want to find and I started looking last week but then I kind of fell into another pain in the ass depressive episode I'm looking
[01:36:06] for a webcam that is fairly zoomed in not like a [@$#%] microscope but just like the mo the lowest field of view webcam that there is is is basically what I'm looking for
[01:36:20] so then you get the C clip started and now you say 18 prayers and maybe it goes back on i'm going to put my thumb up here in the way in case it tries to pop off see
[01:36:36] now the issue is I can't get I can't get the the pliers in there to get any Oh boy oh [@$#%] okay got it there we go I don't have a great way and now it's fine i
[01:36:54] That getting these C clips on and off is a pain for everyone I've done it enough times where I'm like weirdly good at it you're going to lose a bunch of the C clips just when
[01:37:11] you have to do it do it and it's going to suck for a while but eventually you'll have done enough of them that it won't suck quite as bad anymore i don't know what to tell you
[01:37:25] man you You won't have to do it as much as me because you don't do as much testing as me so I don't want to hear it suck it up buttercup all right and you you can get these motors like if if you had that
[01:37:42] happen and you wrecked the motor trying to get that out of there or you just don't want to deal with that Newbie Drone sells these Hummingbird0702 30,000 KV motors so you
[01:37:54] could just get a quick like 10 bucks probably and just swap it on unscrew it plug it away you go okay so where did that battery go okay so the battery is still on it but we
[01:38:09] we got to almost 2 minutes it's fine we're going to move on to one more battery here and then that's going to be it for these GemFan 1219s let me let me try something really
[01:38:23] quick though let me take a look in BetaFlight at the at the idol says "Is that is that any way to treat Top Gear dog?" Look he can't understand English he doesn't know the
[01:38:39] mean things that I say about him he thinks I'm saying nice things right doggy his ears went back that means he still loves me pit tuning see the dynamic idle value
[01:38:57] is really really high 180 let's let's drop that down to 120 at the very least even that is incredibly high i'm going to drop it down to 100 all right the motors might not start
[01:39:15] and spin but I can't believe I didn't notice that with the Azie props or the HQ props that's kind of weird but they are much they are slightly lighter weight so I'll be interested to see if
[01:39:35] this makes a difference this is going to be the last battery with these GemFan 1219S's 04 65mm rig i'm getting about 2 minutes and 10 to 2 minutes and 20 seconds the the digital video systems
[01:39:56] are extremely heavy and power hungry for these rigs with like minuscule little batteries on them and we're back and I almost Stevie wondered the entire battery
[01:40:10] GemFan 1219 S's my transmitter is turned off now it's turned on look at this dog i mean he's nothing if not consistent are the motors spinning the motors are
[01:40:37] spinning yep all right cool so that lower digital idle is fine easy much better with the lower digital idle much much much better okay
[01:41:06] so heavier and more pitchy let's go upstairs and unleash the beast oh boy we'll do a big old full room power loop if you'll find See that big hit of propw wash
[01:41:27] there that's a heavier propeller i'm glad that we didn't change the tune if I Oh [@$#%] oh god if I'd made the tune more aggressive I'm inside the lamp that
[01:41:43] is quite frustrating the dog is going to lose his mind really come on come on now shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame
[01:42:49] let's go box okay okay now I'm out of breath here we go oh my god why well we're getting some crashes in please it feels weird now that's
[01:43:28] fine in your face Teddy you almost got a rectal exam from this tiny Oh jeez come on come on oh so close oh Teddy jeeez buddy there we go we got a couple things going they they just feel less
[01:44:03] responsive they they feel like a slightly heavier prop i don't really notice more power still has good power on these like don't get me wrong it they feel fine but if I'm going to run a heavier prop
[01:44:20] it's got to do something better and usually it's going to be a power thing I I really ran that battery way too low 2 minutes and 40 seconds realistically with how far
[01:44:36] down I ran the battery that's about the same run time so GemFan 1219s same as before like I've So I've tested all these propellers before Sloppy K you got to type FPV after
[01:44:52] Cotti but he says "How's your experience with Loctite Loctite on slip motor shafts it gets you about 10 more batteries loctite 638 is a retaining compound that will
[01:45:02] it'll get you like 10 more batteries and then it'll slip again so I don't even bother anymore i just replace the motor GemFan 1219S's are the most durable of all
[01:45:16] these propellers they're the heaviest they're still lightweight but they're they're the heaviest and they have a lot of pitch and so for like a really low KV motor you might want to run these
[01:45:30] i don't like these as much as the HQ ultral lights the HQ Ultralite Triblades are lighter than these the BBlades are a lot lighter and the extra pitch the the 19
[01:45:47] pitch although hold on gemfans naming convention is awful confusing and the the pitch numbers don't always line up and so if we go into Mini and we look for the 1219s sometimes on their website they'll
[01:46:07] give you the actual pitch a propeller that's called 1219 there it is 12 is 1.2 in 19 should be 1.9 pitch but a lot of gem okay so that they're they're specifically calling out that the pitch
[01:46:24] is 1.9 so I don't know i've I feel like with that much pitch and with how heavy these are these might be a better motor for like an 802 i think maybe a
[01:46:42] 702 regardless of the KV it just doesn't have quite enough grunt for this pitchy of a prop I wish that the Azis I wish that we knew what the pitch is on the Azis maybe maybe they have it on their
[01:47:02] website 1.2 inch let's see search for Azie real quick 31 millimeter that's the one open up Apple we'll find pitch pitch they have the pitch in millimeters in inches so the Azies are
[01:47:35] 1.2 pitch cool so we're going to run those next the Azis weigh the same so the pit loop performance will be the same but they're lower pitch and so if if this really is a scenario where like
[01:47:49] a 702 with a 19 p a 702 doesn't have enough grunt for a 19 pitch or a 1.9 in pitch propeller then these Azies should actually give us a little bit better pit loop performance and a little
[01:48:07] bit better power actually if you have a motor that is too small for how draggy the propeller is which the the pitch is adding a lot of drag to the propeller right it's the weight and the pitch that
[01:48:20] add drag to a propeller the weight adds like momentum drag right when you speed it up and slow it down the pitch adds aerodynamic drag if a motor is too small or the or the the prop is
[01:48:36] too pitchy for that size of motor you can actually lose power because the the motor won't be able to spin the the prop up into like its efficiency sort of window I guess you could say so
[01:48:51] not on this particular combo durability is the reason to get the GemFan 1219 S's that's about it though we're now going to go to what in the past has been sort of the the least
[01:49:06] durable of like the good performing lightweight Tiny Whoop props the newborn Azis but apparently these new Azis now are a different material that is durable just be careful when you're
[01:49:22] putting these things on to the motors make sure that you're you're just pushing on the hub of the propeller these blades where they connect to the hub it seems it's a little thin and
[01:49:38] it's very easy to like bend one of these propeller blades down let me let me show you that one of these Oh no no i That's right i threw the props away that were on it because
[01:49:50] they started to get banged up when I was flying it on the review live stream the other day and so let me show you where are they oh my god there's all this 3D print waste in here i can't find
[01:50:09] [@$#%] oh my god all this 3D print waste it's all nuclear colored too i can't Oh come on now well can't find anything in that garbage can i'm going to sacrifice a I have a
[01:50:31] bunch of these props i'm going to sacrifice one so with these Azy props if you bend one of these blades down it just stays a lot of the other props and then it's and then it's hard to get it like
[01:50:47] back and when they're when they're bent down or when they're bent up they they wobble like crazy a lot of these other propellers where's a where's one that I can sacrifice
[01:51:02] here oh oh oh oh here hold on there were a couple banged up red 1219 S's let me grab one of those ones that was banged up and here we go so here's a banged up 1219s if I do the same thing first of
[01:51:21] all it's resists the bending more but you see how it comes back straight like I bent it down quite a bit but then it comes back straight now it's starting to finally drop down a little bit more
[01:51:32] but for whatever reason and see now it's wrecked i've I've bent it enough that I've kind of wrecked it but Jesus Christ hold on Teddy what's wrong with you get inside get in
[01:51:55] here i think he went upstairs jesus what is it what is there to bark at it's 11:30 at night there are no intruders so that's the GemFan 1219s here comes a let me sacrifice
[01:52:19] a HQ ultralite here's a somewhat banged up HQ ultralite and again you push it down and it just comes right back it's they're much more resistant of bending if you keep bending them they
[01:52:38] will turn white as all plastic does and they will be destroyed but like those first couple bends they resist really really well the Azis I think it's the Azis are thinner
[01:52:53] where the blade meets up with the hub and so I think that it's bending right at that connection point and then that's what's at that point it's ruined what's this is
[01:53:06] this a fresh battery or is this the one that I just pulled off of there this is the one that I just pulled off of there so Azis Newbie Drew Azy props up
[01:53:19] next and these are what it ships with and on that review live stream I told you that the Azy props are good enough and they give you a bunch of them so just run those until you run out of them
[01:53:31] and then maybe change but let's let's get it into the back to back here nice and quiet they they sound better balanced than the 1219 S's but they they also sound
[01:54:00] heavy the the lighterw weight propellers I can literally hear them spinning up and down quicker especially like when I chop the throttle like this these sound the same weight as the as the
[01:54:20] Gemfin 1219 S's and they are also there was a there was a little hit of propw wash there a second ago that's what you get with heavier propellers let's do a big old throw oh [@$#%] oh
[01:54:36] crash protection saved me on that one let's try it again one more big lump of propw wash there not like not the end of the world but noticeable oh no oh yes I got away
[01:54:59] with it and we'll see if that goes away on the lighter weight props yikes no no no stop it stop it didn't quite have enough throw there the these feel just like the
[01:55:22] 1219s they sound just like them they're fine but we have some lighter weight options and I've really fallen in love with the the super lightweight Tiny Whoop props oh that's got to
[01:55:53] hurt oh no oh no all right this battery's done 2 minutes nine I didn't run this battery down as far as the other ones that's where the That's why the run time is a little bit shorter run time's
[01:56:09] really been the same on all these these are all triblades the the run time is not going to be drastically different between any of these until we hit the buy blades then we might actually see a
[01:56:20] a difference Islander says "Have you been using air mode on a switch?" It's there i just forget to use it I remind myself as often as I can but when I'm in the moment I don't think to
[01:56:33] use it Andrew Taylor says "Is that camera request for a close-up camera will it need a short minimum focus distance?" No I mean that would be nice but the the field of view is the big thing
[01:56:50] because the camera needs to go on the end of this mount right so this mount hooks up this is a big old photography universal mount super beefy and then ball mount and then
[01:57:05] extension ball head rather and then extension and so it has to have quarter20 right so that that's one of the requirements that I forgot to mention but then it sits up it's
[01:57:18] it's got to sit up here and look God damn it look down everything's falling here we go it's got to sit up there and look down on on the desk and so this is a Logitech
[01:57:37] C920 I think it is and it's just a little too wide it's not quite tight enough of a of a shot on the work that I'm doing and so there's that so minimum focus i
[01:57:57] I don't typically like hold stuff up really close to it so there's that that's all I have to say about that cisco says "That was a CC clip master class." Awesome i'm glad that the
[01:58:13] camera was at least a little bit in focus for you so those are the Azis they're totally fine but they are as heavy as the GemFan 1219s i think they're a little bit more balanced which is cool
[01:58:30] but they're definitely not as durable and so 1219 S's for durability Azis because there's nothing wrong with them but I I I there's nothing like great about them either right so if you
[01:58:45] have a bunch of Azis run them cuz they're totally fine but they don't stand out as much as some of these lighterweight props that we're about to run so we did the HQ 31mm ultral
[01:58:59] lights which are 1.2 x 1.1 by3 then we did the GemFan 1219s then we did the Azis and so up next let's go one step down to the HQ 1.2 by 0.9's are you growling
[01:59:20] dog no maybe we're gonna go to the HQ 1.2 by 0.9 so these are the same propellers that we originally ran on this thing in the first battery but less pitchy they weigh the same but they're
[01:59:38] less pitchy 0.9 pitch versus 1.1 pitch so they're very similar like I said earlier I've run all of these propellers quite a bit the difference with these propellers versus the eight the more
[01:59:53] pitchy ones is that they spin up and down just a little bit faster the the lower pitch makes it less draggy and so when they're pushing air and speeding up and slowing down they just they're
[02:00:11] just a little bit more crisp you can just sort of hear it and these are the first props that I'm needing to drill out a little bit actually the Azis the gem fans and then I think I
[02:00:24] already drilled those HQ 31 mm stop that pin rolling across the desk who do you think you are yep let me try one more non- drilled out oh that one was fine some of these I've probably already
[02:00:48] drilled out though that are in the bag let's try another one oh that one was fine too that's weird one of them desperately needed to be drilled
[02:01:00] out the other three were totally fine maybe I've I've drilled this bag of props out let me make sure that the one that needed to be drilled out is in a different prop 1.2 by
[02:01:11] 0.9 1.2 by 0.9209209 that was weird here we go i really like these propellers I think I like these better than the the the 31 mm the 1.1 pitch jib jabs here we
[02:01:41] go what's on my lap the pin vice i thought I was just happy to see myself oh don't start beeping goggles please here we go hear how much Hear how crisp that is it just winds up and
[02:02:02] down immediately let's go upstairs see if we can get it to propw wash at all it wasn't prop wash in there and that those were some Oh see so with these small motors you
[02:02:17] got to give them a light prop oh [@$#%] you got to give them a light prop zero propw wash oh there was a big old hit of propw wash so propwash so thrust is required to fight propwash so you can't
[02:02:40] just have a lightweight propeller you have to have a propeller that makes enough thrust to push against the propw wash hard enough and so that would be my guess is that we've now
[02:02:52] gone the the weight is no longer the problem but since this is lower pitch it's not making quite enough thrust to fight that propw wash off so it feels
[02:03:08] great the response time is better and I can literally feel that it's like more reactive for me the rail gun but we're down on power oh my god we're down on power a little bit and that's making it a little
[02:03:27] bit harder for it to push against the prop wash i will once we're done flying all the props I'm going to go into the tune and I'm going to crank the D gain up a
[02:03:41] bunch and if there's some headroom in the tune all the prop wash will go away these props are going to be a good match for high KV motors since they're low pitch you can spin the [@$#%] out of
[02:03:59] them come on don't Don't Don't beep nobody likes it when you beep h oh my god i didn't mean to do that but I'll take it and then I just smashed right into the
[02:04:14] symbol come on don't don't just don't do it don't don't just let me fly the Teddy teddy let me out let me out oh come on we're putting some crashes in this thing man good this battery is
[02:04:35] done 2 minutes and 30 seconds we're going to fly another battery on this as soon as I light these goggles on fire it's not the goggles fault oh I was recording and then I just
[02:04:47] pulled the plug on the battery that was 10 tons of fail denzilla offering a home for Teddy Metson says you can put the ESC RPM in the OSD might be an interesting
[02:05:03] comparison it's so distracting though because it's all four of the RPMs they take up like half the screen it's maddening and as the battery discharges those numbers like go out the
[02:05:14] window what I'm saying i've messed around with that before it's a it's like great in theory but then in practice it's really tough to
[02:05:26] to get any actual data from that and I really think with with the how these batteries sag so bad I I think it might be too much to learn from too much variance to get any actual data from
[02:05:44] okay one more battery on these props i really do like these you got good grip from them being a triblade they're nice and lightweight so they spin up and down really fast
[02:06:00] but you just sacrifice a little bit of total power still good power though still plenty of power here we go look at that man look at like look at that yaw
[02:06:25] performance that's insane oh my god that was ridiculous so with lightweight props it's it's reading your mind and you'll you'll hit gaps more consistently because there's less delay
[02:06:52] you do have to kind of get used to it like me bouncing back and forth between these props is really difficult but I can already kind of feel that this is going where I want it more
[02:07:11] often rail gun nope fail gun is more like it let's try it again oh that was a little one oh god oh no what am I doing what am I doing with my life stop
[02:07:32] it nope that ain't going to work why would I think that would work shoot the low elevation gap here no shoot the low elevation gap here or not what's the what's the deal with
[02:07:53] the expo i bet you it's Oh I got a shitload of expo on here throttle mid is at 33 that's probably wrong 33 that's not too bad 33 no it's about right all
[02:08:15] right oh farts wny boy and under this coffee table is just a nightmare oh nice little dive down the middle two minutes 11 i love these props they're great
[02:08:56] really you're going to start beeping again stop beeping why how many of these wny do you eat batteries like this what's going on in the HD0ero goggles that eats batteries like
[02:09:20] this is it Are they decrypting the Da Vinci code is that what's happening is that in the new firmware or is that in the old firmware get in there all right another goggle battery
[02:09:46] HQ 1.2 by 0.9 by3 props are awesome lightweight low pitch triblade grip Chase with a $10 super chat thank you brother he says "What's up Scott been away from the streams for
[02:10:00] a couple months got into electric bikes I now have one that runs on around 24,000 watts of power." Good to see you though jesus Christ glad to have you back brother okay next up we're gonna
[02:10:13] go to the HQ bylades and this is going to be our last set of propellers so far both of the HQ ultral lights are my absolute jam the 0.9's for a little bit less
[02:10:31] power the old school 31 millimeters for a little bit more pretty subtle the difference between the two if you're ordering from a website and they have one or the other just grab them don't
[02:10:46] don't like not buy the 0.9 pitch just just get them the the difference is super super subtle HQ 1.2 by 1.2 by two right left left i need a right there's a
[02:11:15] right these are hideously lightweight flyblades and you can get them in purple which is incredible these are really fun but what I'm hoping that you'll see is that
[02:11:32] they're more slidy and they do need to be drilled out that was a brand new one these three I've run before so I've already drilled them out this is a brand new one that
[02:11:43] hasn't been drilled out and so it really I can really feel it on this 0.99 mm drill bit's really tight on there so run it down three times and that should be about right yep
[02:12:01] these newbie drone motors the motor shafts are definitely slightly smaller than HappyModel motors which is why most of these props are able to just drop right on
[02:12:13] there so they might be a little bit more fragile than the HappyModel Motors they might not but they might they are definitely taller the propeller rides right in the middle of the duct
[02:12:29] the way that it should Craig says "Are you concerned about the briber canopy hitting the flight controller?" I'm not I've crashed this thing a bunch oh what's
[02:12:38] interesting that I did just notice about that though this happened the other day and I wanted to mention it and I forgot i noticed this after the live stream the bribrain if you hit's just
[02:12:51] wrong it's pushing itself to the side of the motor plug and then that's dragging the camera to the side so that that couldn't have been helping with with the the camera is no longer
[02:13:08] pointing straight ahead see it and so that's what I'll blame all those crashes on little dot of E6000 could easily correct that and all better camera's facing straight
[02:13:38] again cool there is also a there is also a mixtinky for the BI that would not have that issue but I haven't tried that yet and that mounts the camera a lot farther down
[02:14:03] so you you'll have to pay attention to making sure that the camera doesn't hit the AIO with that one the bribrain mounts the camera up high enough where it's not going to hit the
[02:14:17] AIO and so I mean that was a lot of crashes that I put this thing through and I didn't I wasn't looking for it to be moved now that I now that I'm thinking about it
[02:14:32] whatever these are the byblades so when I'm off throttle they just sail across the room like so when you're cornering the bblades are a little bit more slippery see how it just kind of
[02:14:52] drifts it doesn't see how it just drifts so in the corners you have a little bit less grip but when you throw it and come off the throttle and you want it to sail across the
[02:15:07] room the bblades are just magic so stuff like this they just cook and it and it gives a closer flight experience to like everything that you fly outside racers don't usually like it
[02:15:27] they want that grip but for freestyle and also these are outrageously lightweight the lightest weight of the props that we've flown they are very pitchy though they're a 1.2
[02:15:42] pitch so they make good power watch and then no prop wash because they're so lightweight little tiny touch of prop wash on that one just a little touch of prop wash on
[02:15:57] that one too they're lighter weight and they still make really good thrust so they are going to be sort of like the kings of eating propw
[02:16:11] wash on a really lightweight i love these on a really lightweight rig this is not necessarily a super lightweight rig this is 18 point something grams I think it was so I
[02:16:27] think I'm going to go with the triblades on this the extra weight the extra weight you have to how is this possible the extra weight is going to make it be more carry its momentum more and so a
[02:16:53] triblade is going to match up better with that these these blades will work really well on a super lightweight rig where the the blades don't have as much grip but the whole rig is less
[02:17:08] weight so it has less momentum we're going to do one more battery on these and then we're going to crank the tune up and see what happens well what we're just
[02:17:21] going to crank the tune up that's pretty cut and dry i hope that you guys could maybe see the difference i'm not all that sure i can absolutely feel the difference you should buy all of these
[02:17:33] propellers they're not very expensive it won't cost you much money to have one set of all of the propellers or two sets is a better deal of all the propellers that we talked about tonight and then
[02:17:45] make up your own mind but on this particular heavier rig it's going to be the 1.2 by 0.9 by3s or the old school 31 millimeters just to offset with how heavy it is it's fun as hell to
[02:18:00] run this on these blades but in the corners I would rather have the grip of the triblades to offset the weight of this build make sense all right
[02:18:16] first thing we're going to do oh looks like I already did move the the D- gain up a little bit i'm going to keep moving the D gain up i'm going to go all the way up to 1.3 on the Dain slider and
[02:18:26] then I'm going to take the PNI slider and move it up to 1.0 let's see where that kind of puts us and then I'll do the rest of the adjustments in the in the OSD i'm
[02:18:38] also I'm also going to take the pitch damping and move that up to 1.1 I'm gonna move the feed forward down i don't like so much feed forward and then I'm gonna move the D-Max up so this is like
[02:18:50] my normal tune that I put on pretty much everything now 1.3 1.0.5 1.2 1.1 1.1 1 no no no i'm also going to move this pitch tracking slider up to 1.13.51 one1
[02:19:10] let's see if it'll take that much extra pit gain it's on a BMI 270 gyro so it we it's might be we might be asking too much already if we are I'm going to try Brandon's
[02:19:26] Brandon Bake Beans magical BMI 270 filter profile on here to see if that'll calm it down enough but maybe it'll be fine let's see so this is stock filtering just pushing the sliders a
[02:19:39] bunch totally fine and it feels better d a lot of D gain just has a feel it's a more damped feel i I know that D gain is damping and all but like that's just the way that it sort of feels let's
[02:20:01] keep going this is one This is 1.5 1.2 too come on nope that's too far see it oscillating that's too much so you can either no let's try le let's let's try Brandon's magical filter tune for BMI
[02:20:40] 270s and I'm going to leave the PID tuning alone and we'll we'll see we'll compare their stock tuning to Magic mystery tuning here is a quick chunk of text that goes over what Brandon's BMI 270
[02:21:02] tune is in the chat and now I'm going to show you how to do it so you connect you go to presets let's do this first i'm going to save a backup because if this makes it worse
[02:21:24] I'll load the backup and we'll be good to go save this to the desktop that's fine cli backup hummingbird v4 okay so that's popping up here make sure you look at it okay we're good cool
[02:21:51] we've got a backup now we come in here we go to presets you should do that by the way you should always do that and we're going to search for the word clean and we're going to use 4.5 filter
[02:22:02] settings for clean build with RPM filtering click it hit pick hit save and reboot that dumps a set of filter settings into the CLI and it saves them automatically next we are going to go to
[02:22:17] the PID tuning tab to the filter tab normally there are three gyro RPM filtering harmonics newbie drone ships this with only one harmonic which is awesome so we don't have to do that step
[02:22:31] we can skip that step next up gyro lowass 2 135 hertz cutff PT2 that is right here gyrolass 2 PT2 all right so we need to turn the gyro slider off we don't want to use the gyro slider anymore
[02:22:52] we're going to set this to 135 i'm not going to talk about the Y for any of this stuff just Brandon is a goddamn genius take him at his word and then the last thing that we're going to do click to
[02:23:10] save that and then we're going to go to the CLI and we're just going to paste this in which is in that chunk of text that I just gave you set gyro hardware lowass filter equals option two this is
[02:23:24] essentially making the builtin filtering less aggressive which offsets the much more aggressive number that we just dropped into that gyro filter one and that's it that is the the
[02:23:41] magical mystery bean BMI 270 filter settings let's put the exact same battery on here the PIDs are the PIDs were overactive let's see if they've calmed down ready nope arguably that's
[02:24:06] worse nope that's definitely worse so for this specific build Newbie Drone's filtering works really well whatever the hell Newbie Drone has done with the filtering
[02:24:23] it's optimized for for this frame for this AIO for this everything and that's the way that it should be right the way that it should be is that when you get a BNF someone at
[02:24:38] that company has spent 10 hours with Blackbox logs perfectly optimizing the the filters among other things for the resonance of the frame the the characteristics of the motors
[02:24:55] and the propellers that it comes with but that goes right out the window and so kind of a good thing if we're honest and so now all I have to do is connect go back into presets load
[02:25:10] backup and Hummingbird v4 open applying config please wait and there it is and so now it's been set back the way that it was the way that it was i I did a
[02:25:27] couple was that where it was was it at 500 here that's This is not where it was hold on did I click the wrong file load backup hummingbird i think it was a little bit higher than
[02:25:58] that the pits are where they were this is not where it was though i I had pushed this up strange okay I'm just going to do that the gyro filter multiplier slider you can usually push it all the way up
[02:26:17] one harmonic that looks good the dynamic notch filter looks drastically different than it did before q factor adjusts how narrow higher value makes it more narrow I think
[02:26:31] this Q factor was down at 300 i was I was kind of blown away at how low the Q factor was max frequency up at 750 i I kind of otherwise it should be
[02:26:45] fine okay 1.5 1.2 so this was too far but I'm going to leave it just for the moment and we're going to see if it's better or worse that's going to tell me well
[02:26:59] let me check the the CLI real quick for that gyro hardware so I'm going to type get gyro hardware LPF make sure it's back on to normal and it is back on to
[02:27:17] normal so we're we're back to the to the way it was cool let's give it a try a try not a trot trot trots are what happen when I eat most things at this point same battery it's better but it's still the the tune
[02:27:47] is now just barely overactive and so the tune that they ship this thing with is pretty damn dialed I'm going to back this off to 1.3 and 1.0 and that's going to be about
[02:28:01] perfect that tune is this tune is now on the limit's safely on the limit where it's not feeding back and this is a pretty nice improvement like I took the the the PIDs
[02:28:14] that it came with were like N5 and 085 i'm now up to 1.3 on the D gain and the D gain is is what's doing the most of the work so the D gain has gone up quite a bit and the P gain has gone up
[02:28:30] just a tiny little bit so this is actually great this feels much more the way that I like it to which is just it's got a bunch of D gain and D gain is what eats is what
[02:28:43] really eats propwash and it gives it this like almost soft feeling where the flight footage looks really really nicely really nice rather stop that that was crash pre That
[02:29:01] was crash prevention getting all upset what was that that was weird ah again that was crash prevention freaking out when it hits the ground and then No no no no get out of there get out of
[02:29:19] there don't fall down behind please oh well at this point you might as well fall down behind because you're stuck oh shame indeed shame man these buy blades feel good
[02:29:47] with this extra D gain i am digging this oh you son of a [@$#%] come on oh Teddy oh doggy this battery is done low run time on this battery but remember we were plugging and unplugging
[02:30:18] plugging and unplugging and it was it was oscillating which starts and stops the motor start stops start so there's that well one more 300mah battery on these propellers and then I'm going to switch
[02:30:40] back to the triblades and I think it's going to stay on the on the higher pitched triblades but let's just do one more on these buys i'm going to try to like sell myself on these on these
[02:30:53] byblades they're great it's just like I said this thing's a little heavy but let's see let's go upstairs and fire it across the room that'll make me feel better my god these props have
[02:31:19] power it's that pitch man and look the prop wash is totally gone oh little tiny bit little tiny bit of propw wash but boy I sat it down into that no prop wash on that
[02:31:39] one oh boy i have this on 25 mills let me let me kick the power up a little bit features VTX push it up to 100 save and reboot oh I didn't need to reboot oh no don't Don't freeze
[02:32:04] no no no it hung up no oh shame all right let me just make sure that saved the VTX setting it did not 100 save and exit that's all I needed to do feature is VTX
[02:33:17] hey oh nope stay at 100 bro do I have to go back maybe all right now let's see ah okay so the VTX table doesn't seem to really work let's try that try going down a channel oh okay so it does
[02:33:34] work it just is not saving the the power setting that's a little weird back yep and we're back on race eight weird I guess you'll have to change the power setting in the in Beta
[02:33:53] Flight good to know i don't know how many I don't know what the run time was on that last battery but Oh Teddy hello oh bass drum got me oh going for the big power loop oh not
[02:34:23] quite oh so close just caught that second gate stop it stop it let me free we can get it there it is oh that second gate just stopped me dead in my
[02:34:47] tracks oh my goodness there it is oh I just barely hit the ceiling there wow i can't believe I just flew in between the snare drum and the large and the 16inch tom that was
[02:35:03] ridiculous there it is damn son indeed the mega power loop there it is whoa it kind of feels like the camera might be off to the side hold on let me check the
[02:35:27] mount no it's good i was looking for every excuse I I could get on that one the mount doesn't seem to shift to the side very often which is nice with these byblades there should be
[02:35:42] an increase in run time i didn't notice it cuz I cuz I kept crashing it oh my god i am I am under the little arcade thing this is where I keep my car keys and [@$#%] get out of there
[02:36:04] no no no don't fall down behind you [@$#%] bastard it is hard to fly these things man my god teddy stop it I'm going to leave this on the byblades i just realized it's almost
[02:36:42] 1:00 a.m I'm going to fly the rest of this battery though i think this battery is pretty much done but I'm going to leave this on the on the bblades jesus come on now be cool be
[02:37:03] cool ah battery's just done oh boy ran that one real low way too low there you have it HQ Ultralight Fiesta they're they're just so good byblades for
[02:37:25] maximum throw across the room and maybe maximum power they they they're really cranking that 1.2 pitch and then the either of the HQ triblades whichever ones you can get I don't think
[02:37:43] you should really bother too much that is one two three four five six seven eight nine nine batteries worth of pretty decent crashes on the Hummingbird V4 and it is completely fine
[02:38:01] very impressive good stuff I might put a little dot of E6000 to keep this mount from shifting to the side maybe I'll glue this antenna up but the it's been totally fine
[02:38:19] gnarly $80 on pre-order from Newbie Journal right now i'll put a I'll put an affiliate link in the in the description of the video right now because I have it from the
[02:38:35] from yesterday's live oh it doesn't let me change the the description now but I'll do it as soon as the stream ends which is right now thanks for hanging friends Hummingbird V4
[02:38:45] super impressive super super super impressive great job New Drone put it on HQ ultral lights buy all three different HQ ultral lights and make up your own
[02:38:56] mind I'm digging these by blades at the moment i'm going to fly it more on these be good friends thanks for hanging i'll see you on Whoop Wednesday if you are struggling
[02:39:08] mentally like I am just know that you're not in it alone even though it tells you that you are we'll keep waking up and trying to do good things until I don't know oh wait hold on
[02:39:22] let me get caught up on chat Craig checked that it was at 875 that's fine I moved it all the way up to a thousand and it's totally fine up there cowboy with camera says "Are
[02:39:39] newbie drones still shipping with their own firmware do they have a special newbie join firmware they do have specific firmware because they use a specific OSD chip it is the K AK
[02:39:50] firmware which is actually pretty cool Render says "Is the same preset the same as dump all or is it diff all instead it's diff." And that's why I'm running into the problems diff only
[02:40:02] gives you certain changes i've never backed up using the backup preset button thing I it's that's the issue william Lo says "I have a RunCam Nano7 coming have you run yet?" I
[02:40:13] haven't they just came back in stock at Tiny Whoop but I'm waiting for something else to come in stock on Tiny Whoop before I do an order and Craig says "Thanks great stream." Thank you
[02:40:24] cfpv.com to support me it means a lot it's the only way that I can keep doing this the more of you join the Patreon the more stuff I can test to hopefully save you money it's easily worth three
[02:40:35] bucks a month if you do five bucks a month though you'll get in on giveaways at the beginning of every month so if you're on the $3 tier bump up to the $5 tier when you win a Tiny Whoop
[02:40:46] giveaway you're winning like 40 50 $60 worth of stuff so that'll cover that extra two bucks for like years so do it friends if you want to chance to win 3-in or Cinnow parts there's a $10 a
[02:40:58] month tier there's even a $5 a month tier for 20 bucks a month love you bye here's some more drift car well Since you stayed till the end here is a preview with the wrong music of the 4K
