[00:01:06] Hey friends my name is Aaron Seott everybody calls me Seotti apparently the computer can't handle anything ever that was me trying to play you oh wow that was me trying to play you some of
[00:01:19] the Insta3 GoTo footage from the Sunny King criterium yesterday but I don't know what's happening here i got there it goes now it's back this is going to be a bit of a recap
[00:01:36] stream we're going to talk about the exploded AOS Ca 2.5 and the crazy winds yesterday and we might do some tiny whoop stuff we'll see we'll see if we have time but the main thing that I
[00:01:56] wanted so I'm still exhausted yesterday was a 17-hour day for me I woke up at 7:00 a.m and I did not get home until a little after midnight so incredibly long day yesterday I got a
[00:02:15] b I got a good chunk of sleep which was great but I'm still just like trashed from from just being awake so long and just using my brain for so long my dad came with me and he was my
[00:02:32] drone tech which was awesome super super super fun getting to hang out with him all day and so he was changing batteries and unplugging balance leads and keeping the the pop-up
[00:02:47] tent that was giving us shade from flying away because it was again super windy super gusty and I think this is the fourth year that I've covered the the Sunny so what is the
[00:03:01] Sunny King criterium cycling race criterium cycling races are the NASCAR of cycling races they they do them typically in cities and they'll block off a couple there's no other word blocks
[00:03:21] of the city and then they'll run laps in Aniston Alabama for the Sunny King criterium it's is it four blocks it's either three or four blocks that they I had to do
[00:03:38] it again that they block off and then so starting line they go straight up turn one turn two all the way down turn three turn four and then back up sometimes they'll do like three
[00:03:52] blocks like this on on certain criteriums and they'll go like up over up over but cycling races are about endurance and tactics it's not about a cool looking
[00:04:05] racetrack it's about the the riders maintaining their the amount of energy that they've got and being super tactical when when they drop in together into the pelaton they use 30
[00:04:21] to 40% less energy so if you want to lead and be in the in the in the lead of the group you're going to you're going to burn a ton of energy and so there's a lot of tactics ducking in and
[00:04:35] staying on the wheel is what they say of the bike in front of you so that you can get that slipstream and it's really really really cool to watch that using FPV drones to drop down really
[00:04:50] low and be able to have like a tight view of that pelon of that group of riders the the announcers are like always blown away and they're this is the first time we've ever gotten
[00:05:05] to see a lot of like the I mean they've had helicopters follow them they've had Mavics follow them and give a top down look but having somebody 10 feet above the heads of the
[00:05:17] R riders you really get to see the body language you really get to see a lot of the subtleties that are lost when other cameras previously have been hundreds of feet up and so it's
[00:05:29] really really really it's a really good use of FPV since it's a lot of flying over people it's mainly flying over the competitors who were on the waiver and they're they're
[00:05:46] not this is one of the gray areas that the FAA one of the many gray areas that the FAA gives us like they don't they don't really do a great job of differentiating like people that
[00:06:00] are on crew right which is basically what these riders are like they're a part of the the thing that's happening versus just randos right and so the way that a lot of people
[00:06:15] interpret the FAA's rules is that like crew is like us and you can you're flying over the heads of the crew is is fine and then what the FAA says is flying over the
[00:06:27] heads of people people are not on the waiver not a part of the crew just randos I I interpret it the other way which is the safer way which is that like everybody you know
[00:06:40] everybody other than myself is people and so if I'm going to fly over the heads of people I I do it with sub 250 gram builds what's really nice is there was a recent rule change a few
[00:06:57] months ago where if you put a waiver in you're allowed to go up to 400 grams so the 04 rigs that I'm going to be building are going to be based around 3in and 3 and 1/2 in platforms
[00:07:12] which will be really cool because the the 2 and 1/2 in builds are great and all but boy are they noisy to get enough thrust out of 2 and 1/2 in propellers to go 30 40 m an hour which
[00:07:27] is what these riders will sprint when they're sprinting that's how fast they'll go a two and a half inch propeller is cranking and it is it's as the RPMs go up the pitch goes up you
[00:07:45] know as in like like musically the pitch goes up and the 2 and 1/2 in rigs are it's not a nice noise it's a it's a pretty obnoxious noise that they produce and
[00:08:01] so even just going to a 3-in rig is going to be mega I'm really excited about the 3 and 1/2 in rig because I'm going to run that on by blades and I'm hoping that I can get some serious
[00:08:12] efficiency out of that build there's a chance that the extra weight of the 3 and 1/2 in frame will offset that quite a bit but I'm also going to a bigger propeller so I'm
[00:08:23] hoping that bylade plus bigger propeller will have enough of a of a positive effect on efficiency to offset the negative of the frame getting bigger the motors getting bigger the batteries
[00:08:38] probably also getting bigger so we'll see this event in Aniston Alabama is windy every year usually the wind the the the the past three years the winds have come from the north which I
[00:08:55] didn't I didn't pre I don't think I previously realized hold on man i need my water's upstairs oh that sucks I didn't realize how nice that was for the wind to be coming from the north
[00:09:08] so I basically cover so I kind of talked about the racetrack start finish line turn one turn two turn three turn four between turns three and four they don't have any camera
[00:09:22] coverage in between those turns they have static cameras on all four corners and then they have a static camera on the start finish line and then they have a couple people walking around with
[00:09:32] handhelds in the start finish line area but this the backstretch basically between turn three and between turns three and four all they've got are these cameras on the corner and so and I mean
[00:09:44] these are big boy serious cameras but I mean to cover that whole stretch they have to zoom and when the riders are in the middle of that stretch it's the coverage is not great and so a bunch
[00:09:57] of years ago they brought me on to cover that stretch and so what I'm basically set up like in the middle of everything what I basically do is I fly straight up in between turns one and two and I'll
[00:10:09] pick them up there in between one and two chase him down through turn two chase him all the way down the hill and then turn three I'll chase him through the corner a little bit and then
[00:10:20] break off because there's a big tall building down there well so I'm chasing them on this stretch usually the wind comes from this direction and so and that's my right and so that wind
[00:10:33] will push me to the left while the riders typically ride on the right side of the road and so it's always been like really nice because I can just surf that wind so
[00:10:45] basically I'm nose down the wind is pushing me like this so what I've always been able to do is just yaw to the right a little bit and get like a nice flat shot of them from like a rear three/4ers
[00:11:00] where I'm just crabbing i'm just sort of crabbing like this sideways but the camera is nice and flat right because I'm just yawing into it and so the wind is pushing me like this so I'm pushing
[00:11:10] against the wind and then I'm just kind of it's been really nice this year the wind was from and it's always been pretty windy there's always been like 10 or 15 miles an hour of wind
[00:11:22] which for a two and a half inch rig that's a lot right for like a sub 250 gram rig 10 15 miles an hour wind that pushes you around quite a bit this year the wind was from the ass
[00:11:36] opposite direction and it was 20 to 25 miles an hour like it was so bad this year that even the announcers like were over and over and over again mentioning like the blustery winds and they were
[00:11:51] starting to get like windburn on their faces it was crazy and so there were two big problems with that a the riders were still riding on the right side of the road but now the wind is coming from
[00:12:05] this direction so if I'd done this it would have been pushing me directly into them so I was having to go left roll a lot and sometimes I was having to like pitch back into the wind because it
[00:12:20] would gust so hard that it would like push me out into them so I was having to play this this game where I'm like down in here and so the a lot of the times the shot that I would be able to provide
[00:12:32] was like really off on the roll axis and that's pretty jarring you've got all these static cameras that have the horizon completely level and then you cut to the FPV camera which
[00:12:45] is rolled over like this so a lot of my challenges were trying to figure and so to go on the other so the option was go on the other side of the riders well now I'm outside of the
[00:13:00] barrier there are spectators there's people walking there's there's like a big long fence and it's just not as nice of a of a shot and it's much tighter for me and I
[00:13:15] really try not to be over the spectators and so it was a really really really big challenge but I we made it work and they still took they still took a lot of my shots they they still
[00:13:28] used my camera quite a bit on that backstretch which is always awesome that's how you're doing a good job I had no comms with the TV truck which is always a massive
[00:13:40] challenge this has happened to me a bunch of times and every time it happens it makes me really appreciate how nice it is when when I do have communication with the with the director
[00:13:53] so that basically I know when he's on my camera and when I know he's not on my camera the the biggest problem with that is that if I don't know it's not a problem when he takes my camera
[00:14:10] it's a problem when he goes off of it i fly in a way that like I'm giving a good I I I try to give a good camera shot as much as I possibly can so launch get into position as soon as
[00:14:24] possible and then point the damn thing at the riders in in some form or another that tells the story right the story is who's passing who who's in the lead how big is the gap all that stuff and so I
[00:14:38] try to just keep the thing pointed at the writers at all time as as often as I possibly can so that if it makes sense for the story line they can take that camera show the gap show who's in the
[00:14:49] lead whatever it is well and so from the moment that I take off and get into position I'm trying to do that as early as possible and so they can go onto my camera whenever and I'm ready to
[00:15:05] go because I'm pointed at the riders the problem is as I'm going down the hill towards towards turn three or if I'm like setting up to get ready to pick the riders up
[00:15:19] if I don't if if so we'll talk about if I don't know when they take my camera sometimes I'll be hovering above and I'll be lining up a shot where I'm going to drop down and swoop in with them well
[00:15:32] if I'm hovering above and I hear them take my camera I won't split S down and dump down on top of the riders i'll do like a nice yaw down and descend in a way that makes more sense that
[00:15:46] doesn't happen very often though i I don't do the aggressive moves all that all that often unfortunately on the last lap of the of the men's race I did a battery change and I wasn't able
[00:15:59] to get to like the the the position that I really like to start from and so I had to shortcut it over here and I didn't know that they took my camera and I did a big gnarly split ass and didn't
[00:16:11] really get it super clean that that that's annoying and that would have been fixed if if we'd had communication but sometimes life's imperfectbut the the bigger issue is on the
[00:16:29] other side of it and it and in the end it just makes more work on the director but like when I'm barreling down the hill towards turn three if I don't know when they
[00:16:39] they jump to a different camera I don't know whether or not I need to like break off slowly or or turn back towards the rest of the field and sometimes if I'm on the third pass in a battery
[00:16:54] sometimes I got to get the damn thing home to get that battery off of it and so it's really really difficult not having communication with the with the director i do my absolute best and like
[00:17:05] I let it hang down at the at the bottom as long as I can and do like as smooth of a turnaround as possible to show as much of the of the group of riders but it's a massive
[00:17:18] ch i mean flying live broadcast is is incredibly difficult for so many reasons not having comms with the director it's really it really adds to the to the level of difficulty and so you end up
[00:17:33] flying differently and but make it work you're you're you're given a bunch of problems you solve them as best you can and you learn as much as you can so that you can
[00:17:45] hopefully do a better job next time so the AOS SA25 took a bit of a bit of a tumble ESC's will all eventually die they are like the thing that every from every every second that you spend armed the
[00:18:12] ESC is one of the main things that takes the abuse right it takes all of that battery voltage and then meters it out to all of the individual motors every single time you hit something and
[00:18:24] there's a back EMF spike that hurts the ESC all of our stuff is made god knows where to the lowest bidder and so the feds and just various components on the ESC
[00:18:41] are not like absolutely top-notch and so all ESC's are going to fail at some point you want them to fail at the safest possible time and so when you're flying when you're flying around people
[00:18:59] and and you're flying in scenarios where you could hurt somebody or something bad could possibly happen you got to really pay attention to this in my opinion it's something that I take
[00:19:12] super seriously and so the the way that I've kind of figured out to minimize that is that every like second or third battery when I'm flying back to the tent or just back to myself to change
[00:19:28] batteries I'll do a bunch of this is why like a lot of times when when you see me take off I do this in the front yard all the time when you see me take off I'll do a
[00:19:38] quick flip or roll when you do a flip it f the the end of the flip it's gonna fire two of the motors up really hard to get that thing stopped and so you'll see me do like a right flip and a left
[00:19:52] flip a lot of times when I take off and I do them as low to the ground as possible so that if this is the moment that the ESC is going to let go it's going to do it in that last little bit
[00:20:02] of the flip and it's going to fall out of the sky from a nice low elevation and hopefully not hurt it and then you get to decide am I going to is it just a freestyle rig that's for fun and it's
[00:20:13] okay I'll keep flying it because I'm not flying over people or if it's an important rig is that is that it is the is that ESC coming out and going in the goddamn river with any
[00:20:26] of these rigs that I fly on gigs that's the deal it's desyncs one time and that ESC is done forever it's gone and so that's why I do flip that's the only reason that I do flips and rolls at this
[00:20:42] point but the the pit loop doesn't demand a doesn't typically demand 100% of the ESC and so every few batteries what I'll do is I'll get a good head of steam up i'll kind of come in hot
[00:21:00] relatively low where there's no people empty parking lot right next to where I fly from it's perfect for this generate a bunch of momentum nose down and then put the nose up in the air and
[00:21:12] just hammer the throttle and it keeps it from hitting the ground because you've just dropped lower as you've pitched back and it stops it and so I'd done that a bunch of times this happened I
[00:21:25] think like halfway through the men's race so I'd been flying for about an hour and a half at that point and I'd probably done that maneuver half a dozen times at least but this
[00:21:38] was the one and I came in hot i pitched it back i stabbed the throttle one of the motors let go and it death rolled to the ground which was I was really low at this point it death
[00:21:49] rolled to the ground slammed into the ground cartwheelled and it actually I was I was kind of headed towards myself but off to the left a little bit's tumbled straight into a there was like a
[00:22:00] little there's like a little short literal brick wall and it and it tumbled right into the brick wall it was like the initial tumble wasn't bad because I was pretty low and I'd already
[00:22:11] scrubbed a bunch of the speed but then it just literally hit a brick wall the the AOS the old So this is one of the AO the old school I think like V3 maybe AOS C25 frames both of the
[00:22:29] old school AOS CA frames the 25 and the 35 in my opinion are ultra ultra ultra fragile they really sacrificed durability for flight quality and flight performance mainly
[00:22:49] because there's no support for the duct out here this is one of the ducts that didn't break it's not Oh this is the one that did break this is the ones that one of the ones that didn't break and if you
[00:23:02] look at the amount of deflection that I'm able to I'm not pushing hard on this if I push down hard on this I'll it'll just break I'm not really pushing down hard on this when I first built
[00:23:12] this AOS C25 I took it out in the front yard and from about 4 feet in the air I did a flip and the ESC the previous ESC desyncted and it fell to the grass and it broke one of these it didn't break
[00:23:26] both the top and the bottom i think it just broke the bottom but on like a 4ft crash to the grass it broke one of these it broke the bottom plate and unfortunately it's one big it's one
[00:23:38] giant bottom plate so I had to swap the entire bottom plate out and then I swapped that bottom plate out I thought that I'd figured out the problem i went back out there
[00:23:50] and the same thing happened but it fell down onto the sidewalk onto the concrete and that broke both the bottom and the top plate and it was again from like five feet and so the the old school
[00:24:03] AOS SAS are basically frames that if you crash they blow up but when you don't crash they are very efficient th this build with the same motors same props same everything
[00:24:21] as the other really popular i mean th this is a this is an actual box frame this is really what a box frame is top plate bottom plate super simple the AOS CA is a is an interesting like mix of
[00:24:37] like regular build in that it has these removable arms that are mounted to a central plate basically here and then the prop guards are just these kind of like sacrificial thinner pieces of
[00:24:53] carbon the the old school AOS capif frames were significantly more efficient because there's no blockage all the way around here you got a little bit of blockage here from this
[00:25:06] arm little bit of blockage here from this arm right but you compare that to traditional box frames and they have an additional support out here right so you have a lot more a lot more blocking
[00:25:22] the thrust but having this additional support here is what makes this super strong if I had if this had taken that same crash I can almost guarantee you it would have been completely fine when I
[00:25:34] do that same kind of thing out here it's like rock solid the movement that you're seeing is me moving it in my hands cuz I'm pushing way harder on it's just it's obvious right like if you
[00:25:46] put energy out here it's going to go through this strut and then it's going to kind of triangulate into these struts whereas on a design like this any energy you put here it the only support points
[00:25:58] are all the way in here so this entire area is is like just off on its own trying to deal with that force and so basically these two rigs it was always fly this thing for as long as possible
[00:26:12] if it crashes it's going to break and then fly this and that's exactly what happens that's exactly what happened yesterday and that was totally fine like I I I my dad just happened to have
[00:26:24] walked out to take some iPhone footage of the riders coming by and he was walking pat back when it happened and as soon as it hit the ground I was like "Yeah it's done." And then he
[00:26:34] goes "It's broken grab the other one." I was like "Cool." I didn't even go get it i just let him grab it i just screamed to him like "Unplug it." and I just grabbed this one threw a battery on it
[00:26:43] and I was back up in no time but unfortunately this is the rig where an Insta 360 go to TPU mount exists there is not one for this so this is the Luir this is a Ryan Harold designed frame it's
[00:27:03] awesome this is the Luminere QAV Pro or QAV Ca this is the old This is the super old version of it this is the old Freyot version with the cool kind of like purple green
[00:27:18] holographicish standoffs they made a there's a newer version of this which is the same thing the standoffs aren't as cool but the the newer version the top it's not called the Freyot edition
[00:27:30] anymore the top plate here is quasi quasiotropic carbon which has multidirectional strands and not multi-directional but like normal carbon fiber the strands go north south east
[00:27:44] west so they're normal carbon fiber is really strong north south and really strong east west it's not strong on the diagonals quasi the the quasi isotropic layup of carbon they lay them north
[00:27:57] south east west northeast southwest north west southeast and so you get strength in the diagonals and so for a frame design like this where there's all kinds of
[00:28:14] angles quasi carbon is a much better choice for a for a frame like this ryan did such a good job on this frame design that even though mine is not quasi it's super strong it's really
[00:28:29] strong in all directions and it's completely fine because of the structure because of the structure of this particular box frame it is just really strong and so I never bothered to
[00:28:39] change from the old school Frebot edition to the new one and then the really new version of this is a 2-in build the the 2-in version was designed for the So this was designed
[00:28:52] back in the Vista days the 2-in version of this was designed for the 03 one of the reasons that they went down to 2 in is because the 03 is heavier than the Vista setup unfortunately
[00:29:07] for what I'm looking to do the 2-in would not have nearly enough power or run time so for me the two and a half builds two and a half inch builds are as small as possible
[00:29:19] for basically the performance envelope of what I'm doing here the speeds that I need to carry the winds that I need to push against and the runtime that I realistically need to
[00:29:33] stay up in the air and stay getting the the coverage that they're looking for and so the the AOS blew up pretty pretty spectacularly this this part of this was like laying on the
[00:29:47] ground near it and this is I mean like there it is so little bit of carbon fiber on my desk so this thing is dunzo oddly enough this was the last gig that I was going to be flying with the Vista setup
[00:30:10] I am going to all 04 stuff and I I'd placed the order for the 04 Pros and the new AOS frames the 3 0 and 35 before this event so the plan was already to basically retire these two at
[00:30:28] the end of the event and what I what I'd kind of decided in my head is that I was going to leave one of them put together cuz they're still fun to fly and there might be a reason for them at some
[00:30:39] point I was going to leave one of them together and then pull one of the other ones down and move the parts around and this crash kind of made that decision pretty easy I'm absolutely
[00:30:50] not I I I don't even know if you can still get these old AOS Cinn top and bottom plates although I might I might have an extra set i don't remember if I remember I had to order an extra
[00:31:06] base plate because I broke the one and then I had to order an an extra top plate as well i don't know if these are those extras that I ordered or if I then ordered another set after that
[00:31:21] hopefully I didn't hopefully I don't have an extra top and bottom plate because that makes that decision super simple i leave this one put together it kind of is what it is I'm going to
[00:31:30] see if maybe I can put like an 03 into this because the 03 will still work with goggles 3 and goggles 2 right so it would be cool to have a 2 and 1/2 in 03 kind of setup as like a third level
[00:31:46] backup but the ' 04s are going to go in the three and a half inch and the 3 inch that would all I'm gonna really try hard to get an 03 into this because that would just be hysterical to have like a
[00:32:01] 2 and 1 half inch build with 03 a and then a three and a three and a half inch build with with 04 that'd be really really nice and so and it's cool that this is the durable setup
[00:32:12] right like leaving this one i I would have been really tempted to leave this one put together because it is more efficient but this makes that decision pretty simple so this guy will
[00:32:23] be coming apart sad to see it go I I've put hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of batteries through this at live broadcast events over the last couple of years and it's been
[00:32:34] absolutely fantastic luckily I haven't had any crashes or failures and it hasn't broken since when I first built it and I had some weird ESC desync issues but poor one out
[00:32:49] for the for the homie this is this is the la yesterday was the last ride of the AOS Ca25 version two or version one or whatever the hell it was and this ESC is going away forever
[00:33:05] because No actually no i will probably put this ESC into a bag that says like starting to desync on it and eventually I'll put it into a freestyle rig and just let it die all the way
[00:33:19] or let it I I electronics that are starting to go I will hang on to and then basically build like a one-way rig with it that I fly really hard and really reckless so that if I lose it
[00:33:35] on a rooftop it's a ESC it's a flight controller that was acting up it's a set of motors that aren't like the best that are available that kind of
[00:33:44] stuff so there's that we're going to watch a little bit of the Insta 360 Go footage so that's I I I am going to look i I think maybe there's I think there might be an Insta 360
[00:34:02] Go to mount for this but if I remember correctly the the 3D design file is really rough which is why I I I think I asked Brain 3D to print it for me at one point he was like "Yo this
[00:34:14] file is really rough and it needs to be like redesigned." And I just said "Don't even worry about it." Because I had also found the file for this and so I'm going to look a little bit harder for an
[00:34:23] Insta 360 Goto print file for this i know that there is a naked GoPro mount for this QAV whatever Cinn Pro S whatever it's called and I do have a GoPro 6 and a
[00:34:42] Hero 6 and the the naked GoPro kit so this might be my my push to finally tear that GoPro Hero 6 apart and see if I can convert it into a naked GoPro without destroying it because it the the
[00:35:00] 2 and 12 inch this is a really really popular platform for naked GoPros that's why this is a very similar platform power to weight and all that wise that's why this
[00:35:13] thing was so great with the Insta3 Goto on it which is you're going to see a little bit of that footage today unfortunately I only got footage of the women's pro race i was right right
[00:35:24] before this fell out of the sky i was planning on putting the Insta 360 GoTo back onto it to get some coverage of the men's race but it died before I could do that and there's no mount on
[00:35:36] this one so I just have the women's race also unfortunately but as usual the Insta3 Go 2 was being an idiot and it didn't record it's just recorded me going "Is it on?" for a bunch of
[00:35:53] the files but I got a little bit I It looks like I got three or four passes and so I played a little bit of that on the intro actually we might as well just dive into it and I'll I'll play
[00:36:03] some of those files so I'm just going to go through all of them so here's it failing the first time here's some actual flight footage so I'll put it into 16 by9 you can see how
[00:36:16] windy it was can you please just work man it might be because it's trying to play it off the card i told it to I told it to import this ain't going to play ball it
[00:36:38] it was totally fine but now it's not let me let me make a quick folder dump the footage into it and then in theory it will it'll stop acting like an idiot so 2025 this is how you should organize
[00:36:57] your footage by the way 2025-45 sunny king and then so we don't want the LR we don't want the LRVs those are low res vids we just want these all right so we'll let
[00:37:18] that go for a minute this new this this OWC enclosure that I've got I think I need to return turn it I I thought it was the I thought it was the USB cable losing connection but now I'm starting
[00:37:35] to think that the enclosure is bad it's OWC's 8070 or $80 double drive enclosure and the the drives just drop off the the drive like I at random after like an hour or two the two hard
[00:37:56] drives in it just disappear from the desktop and I have to cycle the power on it to get them to show back up previous like I had a weird experience with the cable when I first
[00:38:07] hooked it up and so that's why I thought that it was that but it's stationary now the cable isn't moving and it keeps happening and when I go over there and flip the power off and on
[00:38:19] on the hard drive the drives remount and so that shouldn't have anything to do with the cable i already ordered another cable because I need a longer cable for it anyway so it's fine so I am going
[00:38:32] to try the new cable but I think I'm actually going to have to return the drive I guess I'll just get the same thing because I have heard good stuff about OWC although my dad was
[00:38:46] telling me some some funny stories about the guy that owns OWC and him being kind of a way back in the day but I have heard good things about OWC and so and the other the the $150
[00:39:02] Thunderbolt drive enclosure rather that I have coming they kind of match and so I would like to have two two of their drives so I think I'm going to try another one i think I'm
[00:39:15] going to do a do a return but then order the same thing and hopefully it doesn't unmount the drives at random like this because that sucks and that kind of kills my workflow
[00:39:29] so trials and tribulations of computer stuff being garbage as usual feels like in the chat Alexander Lewis Hughes was first bad was next schnowzer FPV Fizz FPV or just Fizz
[00:39:44] PV rather Matthew Wgner Frank Nicholas Apache Smoke Wounded Sniper Uriel Smoking Dog Kujo Indora Andrew Taylor Willie FPV Games Cinna Kelvin Kudson Rockcrawler Uriel again Gusto Chaser
[00:39:57] Kazuma Gusto Matthew W again if you want a random shout out you got to get into the live streams early the best way to do that is to go over to cottfpv.com and join my Patreon by joining my Patreon

[00:42:18] day my friends help me out i'll help you out and away we shall go if you're on the $3 a month tier though just think an extra $2 a month what's that $24 extra dollars a year and if you win one of the
[00:42:30] Tiny Whoop giveaways it's like $50 worth of stuff usually and so that'll cover that extra two bucks for a long time help a brother out join the Patreon there's also an Etsy store where
[00:42:41] you can get all kinds of fun stickers there's a Fiverr page where you can work one-on-one with me if you really want to learn stuff quickly there is a whole bunch of affiliate links when you're
[00:42:54] doing orders on the internet someone has an affiliate link to that website use it's free money there's no negative for anyone involved other than the website when you use an affiliate link so
[00:43:10] change your bookmarks to someone's affiliate links if you don't use bookmarks you can remove your automatic suggestions in your URL bar when you start typing a website so remove your
[00:43:22] current like Amazon.com automatic suggestion and replace it with my and just click my Amazon affiliate link a few times in a row and that'll tell your browser that when you start typing
[00:43:34] Amazon you actually want to go to that affiliate link your browser doesn't know that it's an affiliate link but some of these are are actually gone forever for the record this is just all of
[00:43:46] the stickers that I've ever made most of these are still available over on the Etsy store though that's how you This is glow-in-the-dark that's how you support me my
[00:43:55] friends do it and I'll keep doing this and you can keep learning sound good thanks for all that you guys do you do a wonderful job in in helping me out here and keeping this thing going
[00:44:08] it's very cool you should be proud of yourselves you really should be it's cool for a whole bunch of people to get together and do something awesome and that's what you all have
[00:44:19] done it's very cool and I appreciate it all right enough shillings see what I did there i didn't really do it apache Smoke Wounded Sniper says "Good evening CI FPV have a great stream
[00:44:36] I'm a bit busy studying." Apache Smoke Wounded Sniper is who's been doing all of the awesome timestamps for the streams moving forward quadbot is the guy that's been doing them for the streams moving
[00:44:47] back so if you ever see them leaving a comment give them a give them some love they are some some awesome people that make it so much easier to find answers to your questions on old live
[00:44:58] streams willie FPV says "Can you comment on actual situation with 34% customs from China how it impacts on FPV market in on USA?" I can't I'm I don't work for the government or have any
[00:45:13] understanding of any of that i try to distance myself from it as much as possible what I've heard though is it's going to be closer to 50% and my extremely limited understanding of it is
[00:45:28] just basically going to be that anything made in China is going to cost 50% more money and so that's going to be absolutely awful every hundred years in in this country the
[00:45:47] the administration does dumb like this with tariffs and it exactly coincides with massive depressions andor recessions but I'm sure that it won't this time I'm sure that
[00:46:09] it'll defy any logic or history and it'll be great this time right that's what all the Trump people are telling us they can't they couldn't possibly be lying right so
[00:46:24] we'll be fine it definitely won't be a complete and utter disaster if only if if if only someone had had tried to tell them or there'd been like I don't know a 4-year
[00:46:44] period where we'd gotten to see what a horrible human being looked we didn't try hard enough I guess calvin Kudson says "Ordered ordered on Etsy asked for a goggle strap
[00:47:08] F depression can you toss a propodile in too?" Thanks brother for sure thank you for the Etsy order my friend very very cool of you I'm putting propadials in with everything that I
[00:47:19] ship out unless I forget I think I've only forgotten once though so your chances are pretty good thank you for the order my friend speaking of Patreon I missed a
[00:47:31] couple of shout outs here when you join the Patreon you get a well-deserved shout out also on on March the 30th I I think that I gave him a shout out for this but I just I I usually delete the
[00:47:49] emails when I give the shout outs Craig Meyer sent me a $50 PayPal when I was having problems with the with the hard drives he says "To help pay for better external drives for your system."
[00:47:59] Thank you so much Craig very very cool super super super appreciate that i'm always worried that like I'll miss these these emails during a live stream and so thank you brother
[00:48:16] speaking of Patreon though Jonathan Carlock thank you for joining the Patreon man welcome to the Gangly Gang joining the Patreon is also the only way to get into the Gangly Gang so you know
[00:48:25] if you want to be a part of the gang it's the only way Chaser FPV welcome to the Patreon and the gang my friend thank you very much Cole Morris welcome to the gang brother thank you
[00:48:40] Paul Foys thank you dude welcome and I think there's a couple more Whoopi welcome to the gangly gang thank you for the support here's your here's your Etsy order i see the I see the email here
[00:49:02] i'll get that shipped out in a couple days man I got a busy week ahead of me the that company that I worked with if if you guys remember the company that I worked with that was
[00:49:14] wanting to get up in the air with with FPV stuff their stuff is all finally here Scott Harper as well there it was scott Harper welcome to the gang brother thank you for the support it
[00:49:26] means a ton all their stuff is here so I've got six 533built rigs with every single different video system and transmitter link that need to be bound and I'm going to put like a half a
[00:49:48] battery through each one of them just to make sure that they don't like immediately fall out of the air I'm also I also need to see how they fly with these lithium ion 18650
[00:49:59] batteries that I kind of took a chance on and ordered six of well I didn't order them but I told them to order them so if if I fly a tiny whoop I'll show you i have everything all lined up
[00:50:08] in front of the couch over there it looks kind of funny so I've got a big ass chunk of work to do this week but it's good I've already done like four hours of work for them
[00:50:24] and this should be another like six or seven or eight hours so that's half decent money for doing something that I didn't hate what they really wanted was for me to custom build all of
[00:50:35] these and I said no to that i was I I just I hate it i'm I just I I'm no I'm not doing that but luckily 533 was willing to they build stuff and they allow you
[00:50:50] to choose your your video system and your receiver system so I was able to say like are you willing to do like one of I I had to figure out like the setup like which video system would go
[00:51:03] with which receiver not that it really matters but they were willing to do that so that was super cool Kazuma says "Six batteries a day almost flinging
[00:51:17] air almost flinging air mode only but can't seem to get a split S can power loop and flip nice split S's are tough inside the house you got to be crisp everything has has to happen quick
[00:51:30] what does help though is if you fly nice and low do a big throttle blast so that on your way up you can get the split S going and then drop down if you fly up by the ceiling you got to like like
[00:51:45] you're as soon as you come off the throttle to get the split S in you're going to start plummeting towards the ground so you can give yourself pretty much twice as much time by flying low
[00:51:56] throwing invert split S and down so give that a shot you were you were probably just flying up high and just trying to do it and drop down and that's tough that's even tough for me to
[00:52:07] do craig says "Happy afternoon gangly gang." Good afternoon rather Ge JNX is in the house i haven't seen you in a while man hope you been hopefully you've been good he says "Hey man hello gang
[00:52:16] nice to see you all again." Uriel says "Uh the first driver acted on the noise of the drone has to get used to it." Driver what's that in reference to the first driver acted on the noise of drone has
[00:52:31] to get used to it driver what do you mean oh wait the footage is done transferring all right hold on let me I got to quit out of the Insta 360 software and
[00:52:48] then I'm going to import these from the hard drive oh I'm so silly i put them on the slow hard drive well maybe it'll be better than them pulling off of the
[00:53:08] the camera itself doesn't look like it though we'll see what we'll see how this goes let me turn the volume down and so this is where I'm launching from so this is also the
[00:53:24] parking lot that I was doing that and this is the little brick wall off on the right here that it slammed into so I came diagonally across the parking lot here nice and low and
[00:53:37] then it fell out of the sky tumble tumble tumble tumble smack right into this little brick wall the the brick wall was a little bit closer too and that's actually where it hit but
[00:53:46] that's what happened the the American flag got all torn up because the wind was was going in different directions and it was like so nuts that the flag got all wrapped around the the ladder
[00:53:57] truck and it just annihilated this poor gigantic American flag but you can see how outrageously windy it was that flag is massive and it was like straight out at certain points it was
[00:54:10] nutty so this is what happens when the battery change goes a little bit too slow we've got the main group of riders going through right in front of me this is what I don't want i think this was
[00:54:22] caused by the Insta3 Go being a little bit of a dick but this is not ideal i hate launching this late and having to try to go chase him down like this but sometimes it's just what you have to do
[00:54:35] lay into the throttle get it going dodge the power lines and pick up the group so this is the women's pro class these are professional cyclists from around the country these are
[00:54:52] some of the best female cyclists in the US was able to just barely catch them so that's turn three so now we're going back uphill I try to do this run over here again as low as possible so that if
[00:55:06] it falls out of the air it doesn't hammer to the ground and destroy everything also I'm off the racing surf circuit so if if it falls out of the sky there's not going to be a
[00:55:17] cyclist that comes through and has to dodge it or god forbid goes over the handlebars nice safe run back slow down here a little bit for this road that is actually the This is me getting
[00:55:29] a little confused the I I have the same nose down attitude here and I it just stopped i just stopped going forward the wind was coming down this alleyway so hard the the headwind was so
[00:55:45] bad that I'm like "Dude what is happening?" I had to push the nose down even farther to push through the headwind and then once I got out of that out of that alleyway it accelerated a
[00:55:54] bunch it would the the It was just nuts man this guy was super cool i was I was talking to him back and forth with the with the quad i landed on on his little go he's one of the fire
[00:56:05] department guys that they're set up like right down the little street from us so I would like land on the on the roof of his of his golf cart every once in a while it was kind of nice cuz it got me
[00:56:16] up over the fence but this little spot for landing was actually better cuz I was a little bit closer and I could see them coming I don't know what I don't know what happened here i think I might have
[00:56:28] taken the goggles off for a second because I just I just missed the the group of riders or I might be waiting for why did I miss them i think I remember something was
[00:56:43] going Oh there was a battery that was acting weird on the charger oh no no okay i was waiting for the breakout rider so this is a rider that has broken out from the group
[00:56:54] apparently not no something was going on with the Charger sometimes when there's just one breakout rider I will chase them but like from a storytelling perspective that
[00:57:07] person is in the lead they're just pedaling their bike there there's not a whole lot of story there so I think I had previously chased her on one run after that I usually won't chase them
[00:57:20] again i'll pick up the rest of the the pack here because there's multiple riders that are potentially moving around and there's a little bit of more of a story to kind of tell here
[00:57:30] huge burst of wind there that pushed me way out and I almost got into that telephone pole that was that was really surprising again two things i wasn't used to the wind being in this direction but also it
[00:57:46] was gusting like crazy you can see the flag all the way out picking them up here kind of trying to show the gap the gap to that breakout rider is so big that I can't
[00:57:58] show it without going 100 ft in the air and with with the wide angle stuff you don't really want to do that so I kind of focused on this group and tried to show the gap between these lead
[00:58:11] two riders and then coming into turn three here for the turnaround not knowing whether or not they're on my camera or not so just trying to give them the longest possible
[00:58:23] shot when the wind was super gusty I would use this that little spot to get off the racing circuit when it was less gusty I would go down past those trees but I had a couple experiences where it would I
[00:58:38] would be near those trees and I would catch a gust and it was a little sketchy and here's coming home there's my dad helping me out figuring out the battery situation and that's it so that's
[00:58:49] that was when when I put the Insta 360 GoTo usually I can do that three times with the Insta 360 GoTo an extra 26 grams i could do a third run but it was just a little sketchy and on that
[00:59:05] particular situation I was sitting there for a while and so I came back after two to do another quick battery change i think this is the Insta3 Go being a jerk again it sure
[00:59:17] is so that's a worthless file here's a good one get into 60 so by the way I do have Insta 360's flow state stabilization turned on with horizon leveling this is now RAW this is no
[00:59:36] stabilization no horizon leveling this will really show you the the angle that I had to fly at again that's me scrambling to catch up with them on that first run all of the shakiness is the wind the
[00:59:50] these rigs are tuned extremely well there's not a whole lot you can do about prop guarded rigs in the wind especially wind like this to keep that wobbling and bobbling
[01:00:05] out so this is what I was talking about the wind is pushing me in this direction so if I didn't see spectators along that sidewalk I would actually use this sidewalk area because this is a better
[01:00:19] shot this is a shot with the horizon more flat than when I'm on the other side that's me not doing a great job of keeping the the riders in focus see so this sometimes I ran this but you
[01:00:35] can see me pushing against the wind there it was just crazy and those buildings are making the wind swirl big big big big big challenge on this flight back up the hill it's a it's a game of me looking at
[01:00:54] the amps and trying to run as low amps as possible to fly back as efficiently as I can i got to groove a little bit though because these riders are charging up the hill like they get up that hill
[01:01:06] pretty quick and so ideally I like to try to get up here a little bit before them i think this is one of the times that I landed on his roof he was a super cool guy but look at the wind
[01:01:15] man look at how hard it is for me just to put the damn thing down so there was there goes the lead breakout rider I think I didn't go back quite fast enough again it's just that one single
[01:01:26] rider so I didn't pick her up i grabbed these two that are kind of leading starting to break out from the pelon a little bit chase them down so here you go with no stabilization look at the angle that
[01:01:37] I have to be at on the left side of the road here and now that big gust so that that's the gustiness that's what happens when I go across right so there's a column of
[01:01:49] air coming right now but see this building on the left now this building is blocking it so I can get myself back to the left well now I'm going to cross this street and there's just this huge
[01:02:01] tunnel of air and now watch it watch this air push me all the way back to the right and it's just a lot of times I'm like well screw it i'll just let it push me bunch of people walking so now I
[01:02:12] don't want to be flying over their heads i come back onto this side and just kind of try to deal with it's was It was really really tough but working it out as best I can you can really see the the
[01:02:25] on again off again on again off again wind I'm actually really curious to see what this looks like with the horizon lock turned on so we'll turn on flow state and then we'll we'll leave
[01:02:37] full flow state which is going to be the the horizon lock let's see how much that cleans it up it probably looks great because Insta 360 did an awesome job with with their with flow state and
[01:02:50] with the horizon leveling oh man you you can really see it's looks like I'm just sl starting and stopping starting and stopping every once in a while the wind would
[01:03:06] calm down a little bit and I'd be able to get like a nice tracking shot here but it was pretty rare and you can see they they prefer the right side of the road right because
[01:03:19] they want to go outside inside outside on the corners wow flow state really cleaning that up still looks terrible though because I'm moving all over the goddamn place right I'm getting
[01:03:30] pushed left and right left and right left and right and then when that happens the pit loop is freaking out trying to correct all the little bobbles so when the pit loop freaks out it makes my
[01:03:41] elevation go up hell of a challenge really really really fun to have this much of a challenge what else we got I think this is the this is Oh what the hell oh I just bailed on it before I flew
[01:04:02] back I guess so this is the Insta 360 lasting until I got back that's nice usually it Usually it dies before I get back to the tent there's it being an idiot again and
[01:04:17] I think maybe there's one more file where it actually hung in there we'll see this is so let's turn off horizon lock but we'll leave the other setting is FPV stabilization that turns off the
[01:04:36] horizon lock but it leaves the stabilization on so this will get all of those wobbles out this was nice they moved on the left side of the road i was like "Yeah stay there." But then they started
[01:04:46] to pull back over to the right i was like "Ah damn it." Because with them on the left side of the road I can line up this really nice tracking shot not bad really cool to see them
[01:05:03] like taking drinks talking to each other the body language really really really fun stuff and see that's that wind pushing me into them trying to line that up but it's really tough and then this
[01:05:13] is really the turn that I kind of prefer you kind of roll into it and slide backwards a little bit when I do that turn they'll they'll stay on my camera quite a bit's really really really
[01:05:22] cool looking and then again I don't know if they're still on my camera so I'm just kind of hanging to show that gap to the last little group there just fighting look at the
[01:05:36] angle i just I just like all day I was just flying at like this Dutch angle it was wild and I think that's it the no that's the Insta360 Go being a jerk again so I only got those three
[01:05:49] files that kind of stinks but it's better than nothing I before the Insta3 Goto I would come home from like the first the first one of these that I did maybe the first and the second one of
[01:06:01] these that I did I would come home with nothing the live Oh speaking of if you want to watch the actual live stream coverage which is awesome because Brad is the announcer and he's
[01:06:10] amazing and then you get the other cameras edited in from Mark the director it's is up the live stream was free to watch here it is feel free so what the
[01:06:31] oh dude oh man i'll bet you I'll bet you they had a live mic when the DJ was playing music well maybe they'll get it straightened out there's the link to it oh man i hope they can get that back
[01:06:56] up dude that sucks what you want to do is just watch the end of the live stream just the pro races i only flew the pro women's and the pro men's race and there's a ton of my footage
[01:07:12] way more than what you just what you just saw you the the live stream had all of the the actual live broadcast footage and the way that it's edited in is really really really
[01:07:22] cool it's really neat to see FPV incorporated into live broadcast from directors that are really good at what they do so if they can get that back up definitely check it out there's
[01:07:35] probably another spot where you can watch it Sunny King criterium live stream Alabama Cycling Classic should have a link to an offsite spot where you can
[01:07:58] watch the stream man I hope that they get that back up on on YouTube here it is spark light that's it spark light h but see sparklight plays it live i don't know if they have the replay
[01:08:22] though oh oh no that's 2021 2019 2024 i hope they figure out how to get it get it back up somewhere I think there's another spot that has it other than spark light cycling news broadcast also
[01:09:02] available on the Aniston cycling website let's see here oh oh I'm not sharing my screen nope that ain't it damn it balls if I find another spot with it I'll I'll let you guys know
[01:09:23] damn that was about it love this event every year it's incredibly challenging it's incredibly fun the people are great the live broadcast I I think FPV has a real home in the live
[01:09:43] broadcast stuff it's just convincing the event organizers and the locations that drones are not the devil that is the biggest challenge that that we run into with FPV for for live
[01:09:57] event but it's slowly catching it's slowly becoming more accepted and less feared so that's good those of us that are doing it just need to take safety really seriously because
[01:10:13] you know the second that something really bad happens that'll be it and it'll punish all of us so for all of you out there doing live broadcast stuff please be super super
[01:10:23] super safe and again poor one out for the old school AOS SA25 it is it is dunzo it has drained its last battery let me get caught up on the chat here willie FPV says "I recently built
[01:10:51] Nexa 35 with 04 Pro i love this drone with 1604 motor what motor are planned to install with Ubuild the 3.5 in build might get 1604s i have a set of 1604s here that haven't had a
[01:11:11] home it might get 1804s though i'm kind of leaning towards the 1604s because I really want to do a 3 and 1/2 in byblade if I end up going with a three and a half inch triblade I'll
[01:11:23] absolutely go to the 1804s but I want to try the triblade f the bblade first so I think I'm going to do 1604s on that and then on the 3-in build I'm really tempted to go
[01:11:37] 1404 to keep the weight down but I don't know on a on a 3-in freestyle rig I really like 1404s these builds though I tend to look for wider like five to one ratio of
[01:11:58] width to height stator motors like the 1604 just so that the motor stays absolutely as cool as possible but I have a set of perfectly good T- motor 1404s that are going to be coming off
[01:12:13] here so I'll I'll probably do these I I'll probably do these 1404s and we'll see how it is but I with with these builds I will usually do a couple different I
[01:12:29] I'll usually like try a set of motors make a note of what the run time was or go out front and do some testing and then swap the motors up and see how that affects the runtime see how that affects
[01:12:41] the flight feel the the biggest problem with with live event flying is that you can't get any stabilization so you are on your own and you are flying outside and so the wind is a massive problem
[01:12:57] so you need to have really really really good response time but you also need to have something that's like super consistent so it's but then you also need to be as light as possible for the
[01:13:08] runtime so it's a really interesting balancing act of those things these T- Motor 1404s are incredibly powerful for their size I've been really really really happy
[01:13:22] with them on these high-pitch 2 and 1/2 in triblades these are the Azor 2540s I believe they are these are the most thrusty of the two and a half inch props and they are aggressive man
[01:13:39] like when when you go full throttle with these things they make power and so 2 and 1/2 in is not the best size the the now that I'm going 3 in and 3 and 12 in it's going to be so much
[01:13:52] easier from a propeller perspective because there's so much so many more options with 2 and 1/2 in rigs there's not a lot of good options for a build like this you've either got like four
[01:14:04] five six eight blade cinnowoop specific slow flying propellers or you've got freestyle propellers the rigs like this need more of a freestyle propeller but a lot of pitch and there just aren't
[01:14:20] many pitchy props available and so it was a struggle to find a set of props that would really work well with these but these Azors were were a bit of a godsend so we'll
[01:14:33] see Alexander Lewis who says "Those wind conditions sound horrible now how I feel filming that kiteboarding stuff as you say there's only one side that's easy the other side
[01:14:44] is always tougher." it's brutal absolutely brutal uriel says "Uh maybe you need one bigger with gimbal is it for pro pilot not option at heavy winds?" I would the the dream is to
[01:14:59] build a dual operator rig with a gimbal but the the folks that have been hiring me don't have budget for an entire additional human being to be there
[01:15:12] also the gimbal is going to add a significant amount of weight and it's going to make it even less aerodynamic and we just there's just it's not there for this like the gimbal
[01:15:25] stuff is going to work for like flying concerts just basically flying stuff where you can just damn near hover the entire time it's not going to work for these action sports you know
[01:15:40] 30 mph 35 mph 40 mph scenarios to stay the the 400 gram number is nice and all but like I'm not going to be at 399 grams i don't want to be that heavy like somebody getting
[01:16:02] hit in the face by a carbon fiber thing like this at 400 gram that's a scenario where you could become that guy that that is on the news and I I don't want that i'm
[01:16:20] I'm going to the bigger props for the extra efficiency and the decrease in noise I actually when when I was just testing before the the pro races I put the and I'd done this before but this
[01:16:41] really solidified it just like in the parking lot and when there was nobody on the when there was nobody on the actual track this is an old school AOS35 with these very cool GE
[01:16:55] RC prop guards and when you run these prop this is this rig will normally take a three and a half inch prop but with these prop guards it'll take a 3-in prop so I put this up in the air i also
[01:17:07] put this guy up in the air this is the tooth fairy from FPV cycle and it's got these silly guards on it which will allow it to swing a three and a half inch propeller and I just you
[01:17:21] know put these things up and down the up and down the street and the difference in the sound profile is insane like even just going up to a 3-in prop with these like pretty aggressive like supports
[01:17:36] here that block a good amount of the thrust it they're like these are silent compared to the to the 2 and 1/2 in rigs it's really incredible the difference and the noise does matter it really
[01:17:48] really does when I'm when I'm trying to cover like the podium coverage afterwards like you can you can very specifically hear this the the two and a half inch rigs just
[01:18:00] as they're just hovering right like I'm just carrying like 247 or whatever it is grams and it's just because of the little propellers so jumping up to above 2 and a half inches is going to
[01:18:18] be really really really nice but in order to then carry a gimbal and then just having a second person there with a whole separate setup right like you've got to have a monitor or goggles they've
[01:18:29] got to have a separate transmitter it's like a whole big thing god forbid you crash it's that's a nightmare landing it becomes a pain in the ass because you can't land it on
[01:18:41] a table right you have to hand land it every time and when you're flying like a 100 batteries a day it's like good lord so the the gimbal thing is super interesting and it's
[01:18:54] really cool seeing a couple people doing it for the concerts but I don't see it for any kind of actual sporting stuff that involves speeds over like 10 miles an hour I hope somebody proves me
[01:19:10] wrong but man there's there's a lot of there's a lot of barriers there but man is that the dream being able to like rip down the sidewalk that the one sidewalk is always empty being able to
[01:19:22] bomb down that sidewalk with trees in front of you and the camera facing completely 90 degrees flat like tracking those riders like dropping down low elevation to put like the the fencing in
[01:19:34] front to show like the sense of speed that would be so cool but that that's a that's a much higher budgeted event cycling is interesting the the people cycling is obviously super
[01:19:55] popular right like you see cyclists all over the place with their Power Ranger suits on blocking traffic those are people that are doing it to get in shape and for exercise and because they love
[01:20:08] doing it then there's the people that race and so now you have to have an audience to watch the racing and that's where there's a little bit of a struggle there's there's actually not tons of
[01:20:20] people that love to watch cycle racing but then they you've got these massive sponsors because they can sell a lot of the gear so it's the these cycling events like you would think
[01:20:34] that they would have an infinite budget but they absolutely don't because the viewership is just not there it's super I I it took me a while to understand that but not not a
[01:20:46] lot of people in cycling like to watch the races they like to do it for themselves they like to go out and ride themselves kind of makes sense once I once that kind of sunk
[01:20:57] in I was like "Ah okay Andrew Taylor says "No comms at all on that job is wild i checked out that stream your drone shots made it 100% more interesting to watch." Thank you
[01:21:05] dude i love the Dutch tilt and the shots flying towards the sunset one of the things one of the coolest things about the Sunny King criterium is the sun comes down
[01:21:16] right at the right on the outside of turn three and we've and the the the pro races start at 5:00 p.m so I go up in the air at the very beginning of golden hour and I just fly all through
[01:21:29] golden hour all through blue hour at the end of the event like it was dark dark like it was it was dark enough where and you'll know exactly what I mean every time I took my goggles off I
[01:21:41] would go "Holy it's dark out here." Right because all of our cameras are so good at at opening up the exposure and letting extra light in for the last like four or five batteries
[01:21:54] yesterday and this happens every year it's that like whoa it's dark as out bro so will FPV says "Uh how did you give them HDMI out live dji or something else?" DJI speaking
[01:22:17] of I am very happy that that will probably be the last time that I have to use this goddamn thing it's not that bad but so this is the Jesus what's it even called dji smart controller they've
[01:22:45] changed the name this is the original smart controller which is what DJI forced you so what it really is is a set of gimbals and a way to fly Mavics and whatnot with your screen and
[01:23:01] everything on board right you don't have to have the silly little controller and put your phone in it you've got a touch screen and you've got gimbals and you've got all the buttons and knobs and
[01:23:10] instead of making a separate box which I'm sure they could have easily done this is the only way that that DJI would allow you to take the feed from any of their goggles and turn it
[01:23:29] into HDMI thank god Cosmo streamer figured out how to do that but at the time the Cosmo streamer was kind of a pain in the ass so I bought this off of Joshua dji sold this for
[01:23:47] $1,000 and what annoys me about it is that for $1,000 you would think that this is like pro gear and it's just going to work all the time it freezes it freezes up like
[01:24:03] you'll be flying and it'll just black screen and you'll have to hard reset it by holding the power button down it doesn't happen often i think it happened like I think it happened like
[01:24:16] three maybe four times yesterday over the course of like two and a half hours of flying or so so it's not bad but for a $1,000 but but see like for me it's
[01:24:32] $1,000 just as a conversion box it's not actually that it's a set of gimbals it's all right it's all the other stuff so my my viewpoint on it is that for a conversion box for $1,000 to
[01:24:46] freeze up ever is completely insane but that's not actually what it is so luckily for me Frank Nicholas is a super generous and he put together a Raspberry Pi and sent it to
[01:25:01] me that I'm going to be getting a $150 Cosmos streamer license for and this will be the basis for the '04 setup two HDMI ports one will be output the other one one will be output to the TV
[01:25:21] truck the other one will be an output to my phone basically which I will use to just kind of spot check and make sure that this thing doesn't freeze up and drop out i I assume that
[01:25:36] it won't i've talked to a bunch of people that have used Cosmo streamer and they don't have any of those dropout problems like those of us that have been using these dji does make a newer
[01:25:46] version of this that's $1,200 but after the experience that I've had with this and talking to some other people and needing to buy only their specific power brick to be able to
[01:25:59] fast charge this for $80 dollars I'm just done with it I'm not doing their new plus they they on their new on the new smart controller instead of having a USB port here that you can
[01:26:15] hook up to your goggles and then a USB port here that you can use to charge it they took this port off and there's only one USB port which just makes it so much dumber to try to be able to power the
[01:26:28] damn thing and have an input going into it and so I just I I'm just not I'm not doing it i've talked to enough people that have been using Cosmo streamer for long enough that are
[01:26:38] like it's the way to go that my new system will be based around this so thank you again Frank very very cool of you to Raspberry Pi me i just got to figure out how to use
[01:26:53] it i haven't plugged it in or anything yet I think I have everything I need though i think it's just USB from the now Goggles 3 to that and then I might need like an adapter or
[01:27:10] two here or there but this I I don't have a reason for this anymore so I I think this is for sale Joshua sold this to me for 800 bucks and that's what it's for sale for so if you want
[01:27:26] this guy let me know otherwise it'll be on my Etsy store at some point i have the nice fancy DJI bag for it i might actually keep this DJI bag we'll see no promises
[01:27:44] c I will need these cables so you don't get the cables either but you will get the $80 power brick which I did not get with it joshua had lost this so this will come with it so it's actually a
[01:27:59] better deal than what I got from Joshua Willie FPV says "Oh no we got that." Uriel says "You should have guilted your dad into it say he was a distraction in reference to the crash I
[01:28:21] think Game Sa says there's these tiny whoop races called race gale or other ones that I forget and you build tracks out of PVC and record your racing how does it work do you record from the tiny
[01:28:37] whoop oh I have no idea i've never heard of race scale i don't know what that is oh oh oh andrew Taylor says "Gamesson are you talking about race gal?" Ah I'm not a racing guy i I don't I don't
[01:28:54] really know anything about racing but from what I understand race gal is similar to that i I think they they give you the specs i think they tell you it's a it's a PVC
[01:29:10] cube that's like three feet by three feet and then a stick on top and then you have to like they'll they'll tell you what to do like you orbit the stick and then you go through the cube or
[01:29:21] whatever i think that's how race guy works don't don't don't quote me on that though i'm not a race guy i don't even play one on TVI'm dying without water hold on hold on
[01:29:36] here's a here's a sneak peek of Ah I knew there was something that I forgot god damn it there was something on Friday that I forgot I thought about it and I was
[01:29:53] not down here and I knew I was going to forget by the time I got down here i wanted to schedule this edit to go up yesterday saturday is the best day to put to put edits up I can't play
[01:30:09] the music for this but here's the next RC drift edit that's going up hold on i got to play music that won't get me copyright donged come on here we go is this one of the good ones
[01:30:35] nope this one's okay and it's long enough when this edit goes up it'll have proper music but hold on test day 4K test day so this is going to be the next edits going up i got to
[01:30:51] go get water i'll be right back i'm just going to play this through the speakers oh you idiot no heat heat heat heat heat all right you have to wait for the edit to see the
[01:32:40] rest so that's the 4K that's the the edit from the test day with the 4K footage and so I can't I can't slow it all the way down to 25% speed but I can zoom on it so I did a bunch of quick
[01:33:00] digital push in and outs which are really fun so I I from the test day footage I wanted to do separate edits showing like the positives and negatives of 1080120 versus 4K 60
[01:33:15] moving forward the edits will be mixed so they'll be I think I think I I I have to spend another minute flipping back and forth between those two edits that I've done to make sure that
[01:33:29] the 1080 footage is not so much shittier looking that you notice going back and forth in between them but I think it'll be fine and the edits moving forward will have a mix of the
[01:33:41] 1080 and the 4K footage i'm hoping I'm hoping that that's the goal all right what's what else are we doing here Frank Nicholas says "Hit me up before you build a naked GoPro i probably have
[01:34:02] an offer you can't refuse." Sounds good I probably won't do it to be honest i wish that I I wish that there was somebody that did it i I wish I could pay somebody $80 to take a a
[01:34:18] Hero 6 and change it into a naked GoPro but I think it's I think it's more work than $80 would cover but because in talking to Tommy Oh my god about it a while ago he had done
[01:34:38] a bunch of them at that point and he told me he still loses like 30% of them when he's doing it like the the the internals of the GoPro setup are they just it does not want to be taken apart
[01:34:50] and that's a and as my first time doing it's 30% is going to turn into probably 50% so Alexander Lucio says "Don't do a naked GoPro 6 they're so fragile it will stop
[01:35:01] working guaranteed." see there it is fizz PV the I mean like the other option is just to sell the Hero 6 and I I would assume that it doesn't have a ton of value at this point and I
[01:35:17] really I want it as a naked GoPro because the Hero 6 has the gyro data that you can use in Gyrlow gopro Hero 6 see what they sell for real quick whenever you want to see what something
[01:35:33] actually sells for scroll all the way down and make sure you hit sold items and now you'll see the ones that have actually sold to see what they're really Whoa 250
[01:35:49] bucks what who the hell oh that's a hero 13 you idiots here $90 yikes yikes 76 oh will not power on okay hero 13 here we go oh 85 bucks oh that's hard so the only reason I have a Hero 6 is
[01:36:19] that I had GoPros protection and I had them replace a Session five the first one they replaced but then the second one like a couple weeks later they said they didn't have any session
[01:36:32] fives left and they replaced it with a with a Hero 6 and I have not used it's like fresh from GoPro i haven't run it once it's just been sitting there it's the perfect candidate
[01:36:43] for a for a for a naked hero it's not worth and I mean it's like 80 bucks is 80 bucks but like I can't take 80 bucks and buy a naked GoPro you know
[01:36:59] what I mean the naked GoPros that you can buy are like 400 and that's just insane like I'm not going to buy a $400 naked GoPro that's going to break the first time I crash it because the naked
[01:37:11] GoPros are infinitely fragile this one that's only really worth 90 bucks that's a that's much less of a hit when it inevitably does break that's why I was so excited about the when GoPro made
[01:37:28] that whatever the hell it was the 10 or the 11 that was all nakedified but then it was heavy they put that big heavy case on it and they left the front screen on i think there there were other
[01:37:40] problems with it too but I digress FPV says "Give a serious look at the Thumb Two." I have the Thumb Two is very impressive but it's not as impressive as the the Insta3 GoTo
[01:37:59] which makes sense i mean RunCam makes FPV cameras the the the main problem with the Thumb Two is the oversaturation and I think the bit rate is also an issue but it's
[01:38:11] unbelievable how cheap it is and it's a great camera for what it is but the Insta3 stuff in my opinion is a lot better craig says talk to Frank about your drive problems sounds good
[01:38:24] Yuriel says "Sorry I'm under rules for my What's under rules man?" mean FZ PV says Patreon done did you join oh I think I I think I gave you the shout out earlier maybe I forget
[01:38:43] craig says "Don't worry about missing really enjoy your efforts." Missing missing what everyday with Bruno says "Uh you're going to be at Sloth next weekend." I am not next weekend I
[01:38:55] have th this month is just absolutely insane for me and I just I can't I I just I can't fit's in next weekend I'll be at I'm also leaving for Long Beach on a trip with Maggie like a
[01:39:13] couple days after that it's just too much there's just too much this month unfortunately also it's an outdoor bando freestyle event i don't think I have any 5-in rigs that work at this
[01:39:26] point I'm just I I'm not set up for that at the moment I'm I I wanted to go but the last month kind of got eaten up by a hell of a depressive
[01:39:44] disaster and then this month is just insanely busy and I I I mean I would be showing up there with tiny whoops which just kind of makes no sense but I have a commitment on
[01:39:56] Sunday and then I think there's something else going on on Saturday and then like I said a couple days after that I I'm going out of town for like a week there's going to be I think I'm
[01:40:09] going to miss three streams in a row i'll I'll let you guys know the stream before but I think I'm going to miss a Wednesday a Friday and a Sunday stream maybe even the Monday the next
[01:40:22] Monday stream but I have to go do this like I'm I am burnout is real and so I I absolutely have to go and decompress and just be away from work for a little while so luckily
[01:40:40] Maggie is going to a conference up there she's her school is paying for her to go up there to a conference and so our hotel room and her flight and some other stuff is covered so it's
[01:40:54] amazing can't can't turn down a vacation to Long Beach for the price of one airline ticket and some food so Frank Nicholas says "Nb drone RDQ or get FPV any provide better affiliate
[01:41:13] benefit?" nope all the same they're all 5% nowadays Whoopi says "Were you in angle horizon mode?" No no no angle or horizon ever acro mode only forever and for everyone too angle and and
[01:41:33] horizon mode rely on the accelerometer and the accelerometer is it just doesn't work very well in drones because of the vibrations they come out of calibration and it's
[01:41:48] just not it's just not a good deal early days of FPV there were some people that raced in angle and horizon mode I think nowadays everybody is on acro mode the the
[01:42:02] but at this point like the only real justification for angle and horizon mode is like tiny whoop racing where you never go inverted but acro mode for everything and
[01:42:15] forever the more time that you spend in angle and horizon mode the worse the habits you're going to form and the harder it's going to be for you to do acro and you're going to go acro
[01:42:27] anyway so just like absolutely as soon as possible never fly angle or horizon mode again in my opinion Euro says "If I see that flag going your tilt is not so
[01:42:39] bad." right right right in comparison to how flat out the flag is the the tilt isn't bad zoe 101 Dog with a blog says "Hope you've been well and had fun out there i had a ton
[01:42:51] of fun yesterday i am exhausted though i am in no mood to go teach a dance class tonight but I'll go and do it and then come home and get a nice another nice chunk of sleep hopefully indoor
[01:43:04] Estraa says "What's the cause of the Instigo acting up on the recordings like that?" I don't know man it's always been finicky i don't know what it is i don't
[01:43:19] know what the deal is I mean it could be that I have flown it freestyle before and smashed it into the concrete before but it just like and I think it also
[01:43:32] overheats but it's just whe when you have a camera that has no screen on it's always going to be a pain in the ass because you're trying to figure out what it's doing from the blinking and then like
[01:43:46] there's always that weird delay and I'm in a hurry and it so it's like push the button and don't hold the button because that tells it to do something different and then like it'll
[01:43:56] sometimes it'll like vibrate and then it'll flash something weird and I don't use it enough to really know what the different flashes are for so Insta 360 is a smaller company
[01:44:11] and so their products aren't going to be as reliable but even like GoPro even GoPros act super dumb sometimes and you hit record and it starts and it stops and so
[01:44:25] FPV says head-tracking gimbal with O4 for solar solo operator shoots the I've I've been thinking very hard about about Joshua Medlin's Medlin drone setup for
[01:44:49] pitchbased gimbal it's not really a gimbal but it's super it's super interesting it'll it'll add a significant chunk of weight which is a problem it's also super fragile
[01:45:08] less of a problem it's really interesting for the fact that I can pace and then look down but it adds a serious level of it's hard to fly i I've flown it before hey comes to Rampage every year
[01:45:34] and he brings us stuff and I think at two Rampages in a row now I've flown a few batteries at each on his Tiny Whoop setup and it's so cool it's so so so cool but it's very hard to fly
[01:45:48] at these events it's already very hard to fly with the wind with the spectators with the athletes with it's really really really it's a really difficult assignment to fly on something that I'm
[01:46:05] very comfortable flying and so the worry is that I add this really cool headtracking setup and it makes it harder to fly and I hit a power line the the the power lines are the
[01:46:21] main concern cuz they are right there and if I'm looking down I'm not going to see them like one of the things that I do with the camera uptilt is I get it just right i I basically run the
[01:46:33] lowest uptilt I possibly can where I can get the riders properly framed and just barely see the power lines coming up above me with the head tracking set up I'm going to be really tempted to
[01:46:48] look down into negative uptilt and that's when I'm going to hit a power line and if I'm looking down at the lead group and I hit a power line and this drone comes down in the middle of 50
[01:47:02] riders I'm never going to do another one of these events and so it's super tempting and it's super exciting but for this for this style of event I don't think it's a good idea where
[01:47:17] it would be really cool is with Cyclacross and I might have my first cycle lacrosse gig in a couple of months cycle lacrosse is like mountain biking but like as sort of like criterium
[01:47:30] and so they're going slow at certain parts and they're going downhill at certain parts and being able to go into negative uptilt also known as down tilt when a rider is going downhill is
[01:47:45] really really important and the speeds are really slow and so and also they're not packed up it's cyclacross ends up being like one rider or like a couple riders in a row and they're going
[01:47:57] slow enough where like if I go down there it's not going to be a 40 person pileup with blood and broken bones and so I'm going to fly this this cycle across event with my regular gear setups
[01:48:11] with like basically zero degrees of uptilt and I'm going to see how it is because I would love to stay hard mounted on the camera but if if it's really difficult with zero up tilt and
[01:48:24] or if this leads to more cycle across work I very well might do the the figure out a medlin setup for these like racing events the the pitch axis doesn't matter nearly as much
[01:48:44] as the roll axis if if there was a way to have if there was budget for a second operator or if there was a way to have picturein picture and then have the second camera on that picture and
[01:49:01] picture and to have like a separate little wheel where you could just adjust the yaw of the second camera that would be the move that would be much more valuable for 30 mph 40 mph because
[01:49:16] the gimbal would keep the horizon level and then you could yaw the damn thing sideways so that you can race up alongside and get that really cool tracking shot
[01:49:25] but having a you you can't fly through a head tracking gimbal it's just it doesn't work there it's an impossibility you certainly can't give a director useful shots
[01:49:41] with that because the only way to do it is to have a panic button that rele it that that reenters it and in a in a broadcast setting you've got to give a shot that lasts for like four or five or
[01:49:58] six or 10 seconds and you put that camera offaxis and sideways you're not going to get 10 seconds of flying like you can line that sidewalk up all the hell you want and
[01:50:12] then turn that camera but that wind is going to blow you off and you're not going to be able to see it right that's why you would need a picturein picture you would need the the the lockedin
[01:50:21] camera to be your main view and then you would need a picturein picture with the with the fun second camera there's there's absolutely no way to fly with any amount of accuracy or safety
[01:50:33] through a gimbbled camera that's doing anything more than just the pitch axis pitch axis you can absolutely do it boy is it hard though holy is that a whole separate skill set to learn how to
[01:50:46] fly with a variable with a variable pitch it is doable you still have an oh switch that that brings it back to 20° or 10° or whatever you set it but it is possible because all you have
[01:51:02] to deal with is forward and back and so if you're looking in a weird direction and all of a sudden you start drifting backwards you can just push push forward on the pitch stick if you
[01:51:12] go off at off yaw or if you go off pitch it's not obvious enough that like which direction you need to push to move the damn thing around and you're not looking at where you're going right
[01:51:26] you're flying blind so if you're in an empty totally empty field sure but if you're anywhere near any obstacles that's that ain't going to work
[01:51:40] Somatic is in the house what's up dude he says "Uh why not use the RC Pro it works at least." because it's $1,200 and I've been so frustrated with the this one freezing up that I
[01:51:59] just can't I can't spend $1,200 on something that that might freeze up from the folks that I've heard that use the Cosmo streamer stuff they don't They say that they've had like one
[01:52:09] or two freeze ups ever i'm like that's what I'm talking about i get one or two every single event at least frank Nicholas says "Cosmos streamer on your phone don't use the
[01:52:24] HDMI out connect the phone to Wi-Fi to Cosmo streamer no cables needed." Nice even better even better very cool Somatic Cinema then says Cosmo is in fact the way to go for sure oh man
[01:52:41] YouTube just did the thing and scroll me to the bottom scrolling back up Frank Douglas says "All you need is a splitter power data and HDMI cable i provided micro HDMI to HDMI pigtail i
[01:52:57] saw that i didn't even know that micro HDMI existed." I'll get you a splitter in the next week or so awesome dude thank you moss one says "Be careful saying the the the the
[01:53:10] t-word lol." it is what it is if if this stream gets shadowbanned or whatever it's fine it's more important to vent and calm down a little bit craig says "Uh check out the
[01:53:25] new beta search of transcripts getting better." I'm sorry Craig i have not had a chance it's been just just absolute chaos with my parents in time i've really wanted to spend time
[01:53:36] with them and then I had this gig which is a massive amount of setup it's been really really really busy but it's I I you're you're unread on Discord so that you're at the top of my messages
[01:53:48] so that you hopefully don't get buried I'm going to get to it as soon as I can i promise brother thank you so much for those of you that don't know what why is why is my old
[01:54:02] phone freaking out what the oh there it goes what is happening oh that I I need that's I can't have that so I Oh my god get the out of here i gotta figure that out there there
[01:54:42] is a there is a really nasty bug in iOS where the the alert tone that you have set for your calendar alerts it won't it's stuck and way back when I set that
[01:55:06] like alert tone for my calendar appointments back when I didn't make many calendar appointments i only made like really important calendar appointments nowadays I make lots of
[01:55:18] calendar appointments and that that tone is locked in there like forever it took me months to find a solution and the only solution there's lots of people that have been
[01:55:34] dealing with this the only solution is to wipe is to wipe the phone basically and start from scratch if you if you transfer from one phone to the other like I've done twice now that
[01:55:50] this problem ex has existed it comes over with the phone I really wanted this time this phone switch to be the one where I started from scratch but I did this phone switch
[01:56:05] like last week and I was just too busy to put the time into not transferring my data over and then doing things from nothing and I really regret it because I just that is just
[01:56:20] the to have that and so the the solution for a while was that I turned off the audio alerts on the calendar but that's super annoying because some calendar appointments are important and
[01:56:35] I do want the audio alert on them although I think I've already turned it back off on this phone that's why it went off on the It's weird it went off on the old phone and then it like
[01:56:45] shifted over to this phone notifications calendar sounds none I got to do that again i hate to do that i really really really hate to do that but I just I have
[01:57:07] to super annoying what I was saying is Craig is the creator of the transcripts website that I have linked over on cfpv.com and he's been working on a main search that searches through all of the
[01:57:26] transcripts which is super cool and I just haven't had a free minute to kind of test it out but I'm super appreciative of the work that he's put in everyday with Bruno says "Uh this
[01:57:36] beat goes really good with this does it?" Nice badger FTV says "Uh got a Mobula 8HD hooked up uh,04 light through the plug vtx records when armed but not reading battery voltage it's on zero
[01:57:51] volts when flying any ideas?" through the plug so the fact that you the fact that you hooked up the ' 04 light through the plug shouldn't have anything to do with
[01:58:22] it the if it reads zero volts when you're flying that means that the that the thing I think it might be called the shunt resistor i might be totally wrong but the thing that reads
[01:58:35] the voltage from the battery has died so from your message it almost sounds like it was fine but then when you hooked up the '04 through the plug the battery voltage the bed
[01:58:55] so the first thing I would try is to put it back the way it was and see if the voltage comes back but I don't think it is i think it I think it's just not reading voltage
[01:59:11] anymore and you need to replace the AIO unfortunately but put it back the way that it was if that's the case and see if the voltage comes back and that'll be a that'll that's the the
[01:59:21] necessary first step for the troubleshoot it's the only way to start craig says almost had my 2S Modul 7 conversion done had to take off the antenna from the X12 and the UFFL
[01:59:33] broke little brass ring contact came off contact the heavy model may fix it oh UFFLs are they're great when they work but when they break they're very frustrating
[01:59:48] christopher Blackledge says I think heard on burn I heard on Burns i thought it was game with tricks playing horse and other ways to win I think I heard Skittles helped start that so
[02:00:01] Skittles does both Igal and Race Gal I don't really know anything about race gal but I galow is basically exactly how you described it's instead of horse it's
[02:00:14] IG and so every week they put out a video showing a trick a thing that you have to do go under a chair and go go under an object and power loop back up over it and then fly back under it
[02:00:29] and so if you can't do the trick or you can't put a video out of you doing the trick then you get a letter and they do it for a long time it goes many many many weeks and then there's a
[02:00:45] winner and it's super cool I I I want to do Igal this year but not actually do it i want to do it just through the live streams and I'm gonna kind of rely on you guys to push me and so if if
[02:01:02] we're into like a f I'm not going to actually compete in it i just want to do the thing and so on a Wednesday live stream on a Friday live stream remind me likethe Igal trick is this
[02:01:17] do it and I'll plug a Tiny Whoop in and spend a couple batteries doing the trick and I'll talk to you about how I'm doing it and give you any tips and tricks that I might which will
[02:01:29] hopefully help you do it and maybe we can have a gangly ganger win i gal this year that would be cool wouldn't it frank Nicholas says "I have the bones version of the GoPro 10." I think that's
[02:01:38] it bones gopro bones good call the bone the GoPro bones it was heavy though it was like I think it weighed almost what a Session 5 weighed which is like that's not the point the point
[02:01:51] of a naked GoPro is that it's like 20 grams the bones I think it was like 60 grams it was really heavy I have heard though I think it was Super Deluxe who crashed the
[02:02:06] out of his bones and it was really durable and he and he was saying that it was like super super super durable which is actually really cool because that's one of the big problems
[02:02:15] with the naked GoPros but as heavy as it was you might as well just run a session five you don't get the same video quality but it's just too heavy man sad matthew Wgner
[02:02:28] says "Yeah GoPro still makes the No way oh my god they still make the Hero 10 Black Bones." Oh my god that's insane i don't believe you i'm searching for
[02:02:44] it oh my god good for them man well what this actually is is that the only per the only people that are going to use this are FPV people gopro is a big company so they can't just make a
[02:03:06] couple hundred of these so they had to make let's say I don't know 10,000 of these and there aren't 10,000 of us that are going to buy them so that I I can almost guarantee you that's why this is
[02:03:20] still for sale is cuz they still have a shitload of them and they Damn dude 250 bucks that's not bad hero 10 is a great camera 54 grams there it is 54 grams that's like more than double what a
[02:03:42] naked GoPro is this is super durable though a naked GoPro is not super durable at all so I mean like this makes a lot of sense for
[02:03:58] someone 250 250 for a regular Hero 10 is not that bad of a deal 54 grams though god damn dude 54 grams is it's just it's a little bit too heavy for like a 2 and 1/2 in
[02:04:21] platform like this so now you go to a 3-in platform and at that point just go to a regular Cinnowoop this was always my problem with the with the with this camera is that it's too heavy for 2 and
[02:04:36] 1/2 and if you're going to go up from 2 and 1/2 and you go to 3 in now you're in the world of regular cinnowoops and a regular cinnowoop is the jam a regular Cinnowoop with this 54 gram
[02:04:54] camera though is going to be a lot better than a regular Cinnowoop with 120 gram camera but this doesn't have a battery built in so if you accidentally unplug the balance lead or it vibrates out or
[02:05:08] any number of things happen before you hit the stop recording button you lose your entire file that sucks a big bag of dicks that happened to me Brain 3D sent me so he bought the the bones to
[02:05:21] use to make 3D prints and then he sent it to me for a little bit of like sort of cross promotion and the very first time I used the damn thing that's what I did i I I didn't hit the stop
[02:05:32] button and I lost the entire fi flight file and I had to go do the testing that I was doing again and so when it was expensive when it was $500 it was a hard no for me
[02:05:47] but 250 bucks is really interesting that is that is super super super interesting and you can get the the warranty on it which is really cool as
[02:06:01] well huh good call dude i'm gonna leave this open in a tab actually no I'm not i'm gonna close this tab i don't need another GoPro and it's only a Hero 10 so it doesn't have the 8 by7 sensor which
[02:06:22] is why I just closed that tab so if I had lots of money I would I would get one for sure Craig says "Ordered a new X12 AIO but before the tariffs come in." Fizz PV says "Uh I
[02:06:40] have a Hero 10 and I don't have the money to chance it on a quad." Fair enough for 100 bucks I can take that hit and light AF right that's kind of where I'm at with the
[02:06:52] Hero 6 fractically says "Yep GoPro 10 bones also have a Hero 11 Black Mini." the I was also really excited about the mini but then so many people kind of talked me out of it because of all the
[02:07:04] all the overheating problems I don't know if they've cleared that up in a firmware update the the Hero 11 I believe does have the 8x7 sensor and so the the the mini is still super
[02:07:21] interesting to me because it is lighter but the problem with the mini is that it's not lighter enough like I love that they built a battery in which solves one of the problems with the
[02:07:32] bones but then the damn thing got heavier so it's just it's like this no man's land of like I would rather have something that's a little I don't know i don't know gopro makes it makes
[02:07:48] it difficult see the ref Pico says the 1112 mini is 133 grams that's a joke would would rather run an Action 2 is it really 133 grams no hero 11 mini
[02:08:09] weight holy that That's only 20 grams lighter than a full-frame see it's Wow I didn't realize it was that heavy holy that's why I didn't get the Mini cuz it's not lighter enough it's
[02:08:33] not enough lighter 20 grams is is not enough of a weight savings over a regular old GoPro so 20 grams plus the weird overheating it was just like nope 20 grams is is absolutely not nothing
[02:08:50] and if if they've figured out the overheating stuff I would actually think about one if if I needed another go actually no what because the Action 5 is so much better in low
[02:09:03] light if I do another action camera it's going to be an Action 5 mouse one says "Is it possible to put an LED on a switch on a 2G4?" I don't think so because I don't
[02:09:20] think there's really any pads on a 2G4 i mean there are pads but they're the obnoxious tiny little pads which a lot of times like solder doesn't stick to and there's right next to them and it's it's
[02:09:38] just stupid but what you would need is like a buzzer pad of some sort you would need like a So you got video out ground T1 R1 video in 5VT those two are not labeled there's an
[02:09:58] R2 pad there's a bunch of non-labeled pads up top it doesn't look like there's a buzzer pad so I don't think so but I could totally be wrong i I'm not a LED on a switch kind of guy
[02:10:13] so I don't really know what you need the only way I know how to do that is with buzzer pads yuriel says "For a holiday dude great." I can't wait to go to Long Beach every Death Death Bruno says
[02:10:23] "Uh completely underovertood trying to decide if I if I want to go all I have are whoops as well and the wife wants to do a getaway soon anyway
[02:10:34] sloths will be a ton of fun that that spot is absolutely insane but it's a 5 in spot it's very much a 5-in spot although I bet you there's little areas of it that would be
[02:10:49] super fun for Tiny Whoops too Craig says "What style of dance do you teach?" I'm not a very good dancer yet i I've I I only started at all January of last year but I did
[02:11:04] a couple what we call it is coup's basics right so you show up and you couples dance basics and so how to stand the the basic holds inside turns outside turns how not to step on
[02:11:21] each other super super super simple stuff I took classes every Sunday last year from a guy and learned enough to teach unfortunately he took his life couple weeks after the
[02:11:36] election last year late last year and I refused to let that class just disappear and so I jumped in and do my best to kind of instruct I was doing West Coast Swing for
[02:11:52] six or so months last year I have tried to I I'm I think I'm kind of done with that I I attempted to teach it to this class for about a month and it's just th this class is more people just coming
[02:12:13] out to kind of like have fun West Coast Swing you kind of have to like want to really get good and learn it and so I'm just kind of back to teaching like I I give I I ask them
[02:12:29] at the beginning of every class I ask them like "Hey what do you guys want to learn couples basics or West Coast Swing?" and every time that I've asked them they've said couples basics
[02:12:36] so I assume that they will continue to say that but I I will attempt to teach them West Coast Swing if they want me to but I I don't think that they will so it'll probably be that
[02:12:49] there there might be there was a guy last week who actually offered to teach bacata so if he's back if he comes this week I'm going to let him teach that which will be cool so but
[02:13:04] it's just like super super super basic stuff which it's funny like if you take a few of these classes learning the super basic stuff and you go to a wedding you will be better i you
[02:13:16] not you will be better than 99% of the people there or maybe even everyone there including like the bride and groom who will have inevitably done like one or two dance classes for their for their
[02:13:27] first dance but like actually going to a couple's basics class to going to a couple a few couple's basics classes in a row if there's ever a scenario where there's dancing happening
[02:13:39] for the rest of your life you will be so much more comfortable and you will feel like so much less of an and you will probably like like go and dance rather than standing there feeling super awkward
[02:13:55] and if you're single at that time there will be women that you will impress and they will maybe let you take their clothes off later andrew Taylor says "On my build should I run VTX and camera wires above
[02:14:11] or below the stack analog quad with SpeedyB mini stack mounted backwards?" there's never like a blanket answer for that it's depends on the build sometimes I run the wires below
[02:14:26] stuff to keep them from I I try not to have like like on a freestyle build with the center canopy I try not to just have like wires hanging out that can maybe like get pulled out like if a
[02:14:40] stick goes through the top and it like pushes the wires out and then the wires get cut by the propeller and the wires are going to your VTX that's bad right so sometimes I'll run wires under
[02:14:51] stuff to keep them inside of the build sometimes like the wires won't be quite long enough though for like where I want to put the camera or the receiver or like if it's a camera
[02:15:03] sometimes the wires come out of the bottom and so I'll if they come out the bottom I'll keep them on the bottom and run them as short as possible down under stuff it's really depends
[02:15:14] you know like how if you run the wires under stuff it's going to be a little bit less serviceable so if if you're somebody that fixes your gear like in the field that's going to be a pain in
[02:15:26] the ass i typically don't i bring enough builds where like if I break one I just throw it in the back grab another one and keep going so for me mount a little bit of less serviceability
[02:15:38] while annoying it doesn't like kill me so these are the things that you want to balance to figure out what you do there i also kind of like running wires under the ESC because it eliminates any
[02:15:54] possibility of those wires like vibrating into the flight controller where the gyro lives but every build is different if if you've got like pads on the top and you
[02:16:06] don't want to take the wire and do 180°ree maybe just run it up over there's there's a lot of different things you that you want to weigh for that decision fizz PV says "Not for
[02:16:18] pitch more for y'all and roll to adjust for opposite lean and look into the corner." that that's a it is pretty much impossible to fly what you end up doing is
[02:16:32] like you have to put the the ri you have to like basically have a big open space in front of you and you put it on a path and then you start looking around and you you don't touch it you just
[02:16:44] leave it on that path cuz if you're looking sideways and you roll that's going to make your you look down and you're going to freak out it's just it's unrealistic so you have this
[02:16:54] panic switch and so you put it on that path and then you you frame this shut up and then you just like got to kind of count and then you hit that panic switch and then you can go forward and
[02:17:06] then you can fly it again it's just not it's not something that you could ever really do safely it would be like a an empty field like if you were chasing if you were chasing RC
[02:17:18] aircraft you could probably make it work because you're in the middle of nowhere the empty field no trees no and you you'd be able to just go up put it on a path and then kind of like look
[02:17:30] around but like any movement you did on the sticks would be pretty probably pretty nauseating because like i mean if you look to the side at all and then you roll it's going to you're going
[02:17:42] to look down and that woo boy that's going to be weird frank Nicholas says "Micro HDMI all ex all exist dslr have had mini HDMI out." Very cool micro HD micro mini and regular
[02:17:59] I'd never seen micro i'd only ever seen mini and regular full size that's pretty cool Benny Bravo says "You look like I feel Do I look like shit?" Thank you for everything you do i
[02:18:11] certainly feel like i I'm really really tired Badger FPV says "Uh brand new Mobil 8 i can't hook I haven't hooked anything up to it." Dude if it's brand new stop contact who you bought it
[02:18:24] from and say "Yo this thing is broken you need to send me another one." that's easy stop having Stockholm syndrome people just because everything always breaks in
[02:18:38] FPV doesn't mean that if a company sends you something that's pre-broken it's your problem it's not your problem you when you buy it's needs to work perfectly for you to have any chance of
[02:18:53] it lasting any amount of time so for the love of God when when you buy something test it as quickly as you possibly can and if it doesn't work absolutely perfect get in touch with who you bought
[02:19:06] it from and say "This is unacceptable you need to send me one that works perfect or else." Unfortunately you might have to be a little bit forceful because some of the
[02:19:17] manufacturers seem to agree with the Stockholm syndrome that is everything in FPV breaks all the time so you should be willing to fix everything all the time including brand new products which is
[02:19:30] just completely insane so from the get-go just be like "You sent this to me it's broken i'm not going to troubleshoot it you need to send me one that's not broken." The
[02:19:44] end cool don't don't waste your time trying to fix it brand new out of the box because nine times out of ten even if you manage to get it going it's going to break shortly thereafter don't play
[02:20:02] that game it needs to be perfect out of the box c joe says did higher KV also if they're selling a product that's a piece of and it's not perfect and it doesn't work really well out of the
[02:20:14] box get rid of it right cuz it's never going to be good if they put motors on that are that are the wrong size and it flies like ass get rid of it don't Don't stay with
[02:20:27] that get it back to them these things especially now in 2025 these manufacturers have had plenty of time to figure out the right motor prop all up weight combinations to figure out how to
[02:20:40] pit tune if you get something that's not really good really think twice about keeping that cj says "Did higher KV motors and motor limits end up making an efficiency difference?" they did
[02:20:56] indeed between 40,000 KV and 32,000 KV which is massive it is a massive difference there was a 20% difference in efficiency even when using motor limiting which
[02:21:14] is I mean 20 seconds is 20 seconds it's not it's not that serious but it's pretty serious basically what I'm doing is that the builds that I have that I'm desperate
[02:21:33] for 20 more seconds of run time I'm putting them on to lower KV motors I pro not a lot of those builds were on 40,000 so I won't get as much of an improvement but the rigs that
[02:21:48] I'm desperate for more runtime if possible I'm going to a lower KV the rigs where runtime doesn't matter which is basically all of my freestyle rigs I'm putting 40,000s on them because I
[02:22:02] have a bunch of 40,000s and so I need to use them and I just don't care like on a freestyle tiny whoop that I'm flying in here if I have to come back and land right in front of myself after 2 minutes
[02:22:13] and 30 seconds instead of 2 minutes and 50 seconds and unplug the battery pull it out throw the new one in plug it in and be back up in the air in 15 seconds right what do I care i would
[02:22:27] rather have the mega power setup where I can do more crazy so 32,000 to 40,000 is a gigantic gap i have a feeling that if you go from like 36,000 to 32 or like 32 to 30 or even like 32
[02:22:53] to 28 I don't think you're going to get that 20% I I I think it's going to be closer to like 10% and then it's really like But I mean if if you have a rig that's like way
[02:23:06] overpowered then if you have if you're at like 75% or 80% motor limiting and you want more run time go to a lower KV motor unless you think at some point you might want
[02:23:23] to put it at 100% then leave it alone because anything over two minutes is is pretty decent but I mean it's different for everybody the Raph Pico says Action 2 is
[02:23:38] one gram lighter than Bones and even much more durable the Action 2 is a is a pretty good camera apparently the living with it is kind of challenging and the
[02:23:52] the the workflow with the action 2 is is ultra annoying is what I keep hearing from people i'm not a big fan of how wide angle it is like when you use the full sensor
[02:24:06] it is like painfully wide and I actually I have a really hard time watching footage from that camera that was filmed wide it's just kind of silly but other than that
[02:24:20] it's a really good camera frank Nicholas says "Quick it's incredibly lightweight." Frank says "Quick searching around pre-made naked GoPro not from GoPro are 26 to 48 gram."
[02:24:32] it's depends on the on the case that you use i have the the pretty lightweight one that is in that 20 gram range what's insane what's always been insane to me is that I shouldn't
[02:24:44] have done that is that a naked GoPro weighs what this weighs but I mean it kind of makes sense this has a battery in it and the naked GoPro does not but there is a there's a big
[02:24:57] range of what naked GoPros weigh especially now that they're making like aluminum cases for them like I get it we're going for more durability but it's a 50 gram naked
[02:25:09] GoPro maybe just get one of those bones but the bones is a little bit of an older camera and it doesn't have the 8x7 sensor and I know the blah blah blah blah blah cj says "I still have two
[02:25:23] sessions one Hero 5 and one original." Nice session five's for life bro i still have five of them i was getting them really cheap for a while there man i I think I paid like
[02:25:36] $40 for one of these auction one of these session fives there was a moment where the session five was still available you could still buy it new and nobody really wanted it
[02:25:51] everybody was going to the heroes and man they were like all over eBay for 60 bucks and I snagged one i'm pretty sure it was $40 and then I have one of mine was a
[02:26:08] replacement from GoPro which was really cool so that one I basically paid like 20 bucks for or whatever the hell that GoPro protection plan was Fizz PV says "Thumb two 17 grams
[02:26:26] 4K 60 1080 120." the the the specs on the Thumb Two are fantastic it's just the the video quality is not quite as good as the Insta3 GoTo and I have the Insta360 GoTo so it's it's
[02:26:41] tough to justify the I think 100 bucks the Thumb Two is but if I didn't have the Insta3 go I would already have a thumb too uriel says for the dancing ask money so it's being run through a nonprofit
[02:26:57] if any money is collected it will first go to the nonprofit any extra money I guess I could ask for i I would rather not it's not I I'm first and foremost I'm just nowhere near good
[02:27:13] enough but also like I don't want it to be about that I I very specifically want it to be something that I do in a way as volunteer work and I mean it's a nonprofit and I am
[02:27:30] going and working right like I barely dance and so volunteer work is is something that that I've really enjoyed in my life every time that that I've had an opportunity
[02:27:45] to do it I've met the coolest people and it just really it's a very recharging kind of thing and this is an amazing opportunity to do volunteer work and move around and connect
[02:28:00] people and so Benny Bravo says Yuriel protects y at all costs he is a national treasure uriel uriel says "Take dancing lessons you get laned." Badger says "Uh figured
[02:28:15] out the issue the battery was set to zero volts and works now after calibration." Good old HappyModel nice uriel says "Scott call my name out like I send him in worse than Judge
[02:28:29] Dread." Andrew Taylor says "Thanks i'll do wires under the ESC." There you go Alexander Lewis who says "Action 2 footage looks bad to me insta 360 go to looks better dude like I I hate to
[02:28:44] I I try not to bash on the Action 2 because I love how lightweight it is and I know that a lot of people have it but like boy there's been some there's been some freestyle FPV p footage from
[02:28:59] phenomenal pilots that I've had to turn off after like 20 seconds because it's almost worse than Spang it's just like like I literally like I'll I'll be sitting and I'll turn it on
[02:29:16] and I'll it's like it's that it's and I I don't unless you're paying me I'm not going to keep like doing this like if I'm if I if there's something on my
[02:29:32] screen and there's not money coming out of it and I'm doing this no click it off get rid of it euro says "Uh you're too good people use you hugs and kisses." I mean you could
[02:29:49] think about it that's not really what it is if if if you choose to do something and you're getting something out of it and you're and it's not making you miserable then
[02:30:00] you know you could absolutely look at look at it as people using you but that's not what's actually happening because you're getting something from it holy it's 5:30 I did
[02:30:13] put six batteries in the stream title and I do have a couple of batteries charged so I'll do a quick not quite six batteries and then we will part
[02:30:28] ways tomorrow night is tomorrow night is a giveaway live stream make sure that you're on the $5 tier or up if you want a chance at winning $50 to $100 worth of
[02:30:47] stuff come to the live stream if you want a chance to win a gangly fan i usually do the giveaways around 11 o'clock Eastern or just come out to learn some cool
[02:31:09] i'm back to the HD2s i'm sorry i'm back to the HD3s because I I had to take the the module off I contacted SpeedyB and I said "Yo I've heard good things about your goggle module I would love
[02:31:26] to test one are you looking to do any kind of like sponsorship stuff?" I would do a live stream and talk about it and if it's good I would actually use it in the future and continue to talk about
[02:31:36] it they got back to me and they said we would love to but it's been discontinued so the SpeedyB goggle module is dead if anybody has a lead on a the the TBS goggle module I want
[02:31:56] to compare it to the Rapid Fire I also want to use it on the HD0ero goggles there's some weirdness between the Rapid Fire and the HD0 i think the TBS module works better so if anybody
[02:32:13] is selling or knows anybody that's selling the TBS goggle module let me know I'm looking for one to put into into these guys Game Sinn says "I can't find the newbie drone cockroach V3 it's either
[02:32:31] out of stock or $40 shipping and I can't find one with free shipping do you think AliExpress will sell it sometime soon?" I doubt it i doubt AliExpress will sell it because they would have to buy it
[02:32:42] from California from Newbie Drone and I just I don't see that happening i could totally be wrong but my guess is no that they will not sell it and I have no leads as to tell you
[02:32:54] where to look for it unfortunately let's fly the Let's fly the Mobulus 6 2024 build that I have recently put done a motor switch on i put the 072 36,000 KV Firefly motors onto
[02:33:17] it and probably on this Whoop Wednesday will be a comparison Air65 versus Mobula 6 2024 versus Hummingbird V4 here we go mobul 6 2024 the only mods to this are a true
[02:33:42] RC singularity antenna and the motors let's get out of angle i don't have any of the extra gates set up oh man I gota I might need to might need to clean up the tune on
[02:33:59] this guy a little bit's not It's not quite these motors make power it's not quite getting down to idle sometimes when I chop the throttle there it's
[02:34:15] fine there it was fine oh it's doesn't like front flips oh oh please no please don't fall back behind there yes thank you let me try this again it's
[02:34:40] it's Oh it's doing it on both sides that's weird strange acting a little weird see if I can fly through it i can definitely fly through it but Oh god oh
[02:35:05] boy came awful close to the wire on that on that hanging lantern there what's Florence eating ramen she was going to hit's she was going to hit's i knew
[02:35:39] it oh no no no oh no oh no and Teddy's coming he's gonna eat it oh no oh no a Teddy uh-oh it won't take off oh no oh no no something ain't right teddy's investigating maybe he'll fix
[02:36:18] it somebody help me no help me fix it for me see if you can fix it i'm hoping that it flipping over in the same direction every time maggie will be able to see what's
[02:36:54] happening with it now can you fix it see if you can fix it see like See how it's not taking off see if Is there something weird yes yes this is the dream this is the
[02:37:27] dream all right let's see see I keep Oh a Okay hold on it's worth a shot i'm coming be right back micro blade steady i don't know it's threw a blade i should have known better these HQ ultral lights
[02:38:43] they continually break individual blades off so that's why it was shaking really hard let's get the clone popper on here real quick it got all hairy being under the
[02:39:02] couch gross there's another try to buy blade conversion i got a real I got a pile of these broken HQ ultral lights now oh my god okay all right we're not going to fly this anymore there is so much hair
[02:39:26] in all these motors from it being under the couch couch that I'm going to have to take all the propellers off let's go to the Air65 we'll do a part of the a part of the
[02:39:40] comparison here tonight today fly the end of this battery and then one more and then we'll shut this down for the evening this battery is done cool all right so that was almost a
[02:40:00] whole battery on the Mul 6 2024 air 65 coming up fresh battery this is a tattoo 300 it's been cycled a bunch last battery of the live stream my friends fly your six today don't let my lazy two
[02:40:23] battery day be the norm get your six batteries in oh god so this is an Air65 on the I think it's on the 29,000 KV motors i did do two out of three Reny screws on all the places so here's
[02:40:50] all the builds for that company so this is analog with Crossfire here the boxes all have fully built 5-in rigs in them this is HD0 with Immersion RC's
[02:41:08] link this one is WalkSnail with Tracer I believe this one is old school DJI old school DJI Vista with old school DJI controller link this one is ELRS
[02:41:29] 2.4 with 03 and then this one is ELRS 900 with 04 and so that's there are six 533 flip switches here in those boxes on the bottom and so I need to get all that
[02:41:57] bound up and in the air ready for complete noviceses although what what what I've told them is that they need to they need to hire a local FPV pilot there to fly them they they've been
[02:42:15] the company has been a bit of a nightmare to deal with they are not they're just not listening and they seem to they seem to think that they're going to be able to fly them and I've told
[02:42:37] them over and over and over again that they won't be able to and that that's all I can do right and they're only going to hurt themselves if if they
[02:42:50] try and so it is what it is i I I wish that they the Air65 flies really good i wish that they would pay more attention when when they're paying me to give them advice
[02:43:06] but what can I do so thanks for hanging friends CJ with the last comment of the live stream he says "Pyro drone has the TVS module in stock." I'm trying not to pay hundred and something dollars for
[02:43:30] it's seems completely I already have two rapid fires actually if if anybody wants to trade a rapid fire for the TBS module I might be willing to do that no promises but I might be willing to do that i
[02:43:49] would really love to find a used tra a used TBS goggle module for like 50 bucks or 60 bucks or something that that would be best bet but if somebody wants to trade the TBS module
[02:44:01] for a rapid fire I I might be willing to do that because I don't need two of these rapid fires love you guys bye i'll see you tomorrow night at 10 o'clock make sure
[02:44:20] if you're on the $3 tier you go up to the $5 tier so that you can win $50 worth of Tiny Whoop stuff that's a good deal right $2 and then you get
[02:44:31] 50 cfpv.com love you be good here's some drift car chasing bing bong sing along there you go see you tomorrow night heat heat heat heat heat
[02:46:25] heat heat heat heat heat heat heat heat n
