[00:12:17]   talk about the width the the width versus the height is super important you want to try to be minimum 3 to one ideally like four 3 and 1/2 to one or 4 to one

[00:12:29]    so 0703 369 this is a motor that is basically 2.3 to one 2.3 width versus one height so this is a motor that has the potential to overheat like crazy this you can see

[00:12:48]   it looking at the motor it looks very tall and not very wide right 0703 that's a that's a good Stater volume but the question is going to be will it overheat unfortunately it's a 1 mm motor

[00:13:03]   shaft so for me that completely eliminates it from consideration for any 75mm rig I just I've run a ton of 1 mm motor shaft Motors on 75mm Rigs and they bend and break super quick

[00:13:19]   so it's not the motor for me but if you're going to do a 75 and not crash it much this this could be a good motor for you just don't expect to so here's going to be the other problem with that ratio

[00:13:36]   of width to height this is a motor that's going to get hot so this is not a motor that I would run on like a WalkSnail build the extra weight of the WalkSnail is going to dump a bunch of extra

[00:13:46]   heat into the motor because the hover point is going to be significantly higher in the throttle WalkSnail adds roughly 30 to 40% extra weight to the rig and that's going to

[00:14:00]   be 30 to 40% extra heat into the motor and so this would not be my choice for a WalkSnail 75mm rig the the this would be more of like an analog 75mm

[00:14:16]   motor and I would ra I would much rather do the ow 0802 27,000 KV motor in that kind of a scenario 0802 right eight wide two tall 2 six Jesus 2 468 so that's a 4:1 ratio 802 is

[00:14:37]   going to run much much cooler than this 703 which is three three tall seven wide Three 6 9 7 is 30% less right so 2.3 2.3 to1 is the ratio of width height on these 07

[00:14:54]   03s super interesting I I don't know what this motor is for this would not be a good motor for in my opinion for a 65mm rig because 27,000 KV is not quite enough

[00:15:13]    so interesting interesting motor it's going to make more power than an 802 because the 3mm tall Stater the the height of the Stater does much more work increasing the height of the stator does

[00:15:29]   much more work than increasing the width of the stator so these will make really good power but 27,000 KV is not really enough for a 655mm rig you're going to have to put this on a 75 millim rig

[00:15:42]   because the KV is a little bit lower and then on a 75 millim rig the 1 mm motor shaft is going to be the limitation it's going to ban it's going to break I have heard people say that

[00:15:53]   the RC and power motor shafts are stronger than some of the other motor shafts that are out there namely happy I've not really run RC in power look I don't buy it I I I don't I don't

[00:16:09]   think that RC and power is using a drastically different metal or a different metal at all that that HappyModel is is using I would love for that to be true but I have I have bent and

[00:16:20]   broken 1 mm motor shafts on t- Motors iflight Zing Motors happy models of course pretty much everybody other than RC in power the thought that like RC in power is using some magical metal for their

[00:16:39]   motor shaft I I just I personally don't buy it I would love for that to be true but I I just I'm I I would be very shocked if that were the case what I think it is is

[00:16:50]   that the people that say that the that that 1 mimer motor shafts from RC and power are like infinitely durable those are people that don't crash or if they do crash they crash into the

[00:17:01]   grass which is basically not crashing so I I've yet to hear that from anybody that says like yes I crash into cement hardwood floors walls all the time so I'm not buying it but I

[00:17:15]   would love for it to be true because the more good Motors we have the better so super interesting thank you for for calling that motor out it I did not see this motor pop up

[00:17:24]   anywhere more choices are are better than less so just because I personally don't can't think of a great platform for this motor to run on doesn't mean that this is not the

[00:17:37]   perfect motor for you right like if you don't if you have a 75 mimer rig that you're not going to hammer the hell out of the throttle on all the time you're going to fly it a little bit more slowly

[00:17:46]   and you don't crash into hard surfaces this might be the perfect motor for you but it's an awkward motor size I would much rather see an be an 803 that would have a the the The

[00:17:59]   Wider the motor Bell the the bigger of a heat sink it is it's physically bigger but it's also out farther into the the air flow coming down off the propeller so I would rather see

[00:18:11]   this be an 803 but it's cool I don't know of any other 70 that's not true I there there were 703s a long time ago I love it I love that we have a 703 motor that's current and new

[00:19:03]   those aiio explode on me I think I'm up to three now and so I just I can't recommend it the Mobula 6 2024 is kind of the only one the only tiny whoop that I can recommend at the moment

[00:19:19]   mainly because it's just so much better like waiting for that you're gonna get something that's really cheap and really good it's just unbelievable like the price point it's the best of

[00:19:32]   the tiny whoops and it's one of the cheapest if not the cheapest like when the hell does that ever happen so I I I guess like gun to my head I would recommend the BetaFPV whatever 65

[00:19:49]   they've got meteor 65 maybe I I don't really pay much attention to their binding flies I don't but that's going to be more reliable in my experience so whatever the BetaFPV 65mm

[00:20:02]   rig is that that would be the only thing that I could suggest and I don't really suggest it I suggest you wait for the Mobula 6 2024 look for somebody that's doing pre-orders on it put the pre-order in

[00:20:13]   and just spend time in the simulator keep learning I know that's not a great answer it's not the answer that you want but that's the answer that I have to give because that rig is

[00:21:00]   everything Kevin's saying other than only good with 40 millimeter TR and quad blades the 40 mm so 40 millimet is also 1.6 in the 1.6 in Quad blades I'm sorry Tri blades make less thrust

[00:21:15]   than the by blades so you might as well run the by blades the by blades are also better balanced yada y y the 40mm Tri blades they're just like way too heavy they they like technically

[00:21:27]   they make a little bit more thr but man in the air they they just they don't fly good but luckily 27,000 KV on the 1.6in by blades will rip like that'll absolutely blast and the

[00:21:41]   0703 Stater size that's a fairly narrow Stater and with narrow Staters you get really good response time so these motors on 1610 GemFan by blades would be a response Champion like you're you'd

[00:21:59]   be able to run like the pit tune at 1.0 top to bottom and it would still be absolutely locked so these motors aren't bad it's just they really miss the boat on the on the motor shaft

[00:22:12]   if if this was a 1 and a half millimeter motor shaft I would have already ordered these tonight but that 1 mil motor shaft is a is a total deal breaker for me and anybody that crashes into

[00:22:23]   hard hard surfaces Striker says I really want to get into whoops I got 60 bucks right now now so maybe 100 bucks or so to go before I can get a good setup it just seems so appealing

[00:22:33]   with a Whooper you can charge six packs at once hopefully while you're stacking up that extra hundred bucks Striker the the Mobula 6 2024 comes out because that's the one that you want

[00:23:08]   it on something lightweight but then it's an awful lot of motor and the one mm motor shaft demands that you have something lightweight but then it's a ton of motor for something lightweight and it's not

[00:23:22]   quite a high enough KV like so you're it's going to be for like a lightweight 7 5 mm rig which is kind of an awkward place to be so but if you want to try out a 703 there

[00:23:38]   you go it's going to make a shitload of power if you're flying a 75 mimet analog rig around your yard and crashing into the grass this motor will

[00:23:48]   blast so if that's you this is a really interesting motor for you Striker says damn that's sad the hummingbird seems so good at 90 bucks it flies great and it's a great weight

[00:24:01]   but the aios and I've heard this from a lot of people in chat that they've had the hummingbird V3 AO blow up on them from like not hard crashes so and I just I can't in good

[00:24:15]   faith recommend something that's not durable durability is really really important because to get good and to really enjoy FPV in my opinion you have to push yourself and when you push

[00:24:26]   yourself you start crashing hard so that's it's kind of tough timman says how much differently does the dead cat Glide fly over the regular X configuration I have the standard was

[00:24:37]   curious about switching I I don't really notice the difference in the way that they fly but the main reason for that is that I tune my rigs if if you left a rig completely stock

[00:24:51]   tune and this is not just Glide this is anything true X which is what the Glide is versus dead cat basically you're so this is squished X but imagine that this is true X right you've got all

[00:25:12]   this weight the the roll axis is easy the the roll axis everything is is condensed and when you rotate it on the roll axis it's just like lightning and when you go from True

[00:25:24]   X to dead cat to squished X it doesn't matter the motors stay the same distance out because they're set up for X length propeller and it has to clear this right so the roll axis is never the problem

[00:25:36]   it's the pitch axis that becomes an issue so on the pitch pitch axis you've got all this weight spread out right and so it that makes it harder to accelerate and slow it down on that axis well

[00:25:48]   now you're W with a true X setup you've you've pushed the motors out pretty far like think of my fingertips where the motors would be if this was TR X and so with the motors out this far you've got

[00:26:01]   a good amount of Leverage right it's a longer you look at like the center line here and the farther out you push the motor the further out you push the motor the more leverage there is and

[00:26:13]   alternatively the farther in you pull the motor like on a deadcat the less leverage so what can happen if you don't tune your rigs is that if you compare a true X to a you could say true X to a

[00:26:28]   squished X like this or even more drastic true X to dead cat is that on your pitch axis it becomes lazy and so when you when you bang over into roll on the stick it's going to be sharp

[00:26:43]   because there's not a lot of weight on the roll axis that's spread outwards and the and the arms are pushed out a good amount because the prop has to clear so on the roll axis you can have this nice

[00:26:55]   sharp response but then on the pitch axis you're going to have a much different response it's going to be slower to accelerate and it's going to be slower to to

[00:27:05]   decelerate and it's also going to prop wash worse you're you're going to have a situation where the pitch axis will prop wash When the Roll axis doesn't and it just it's can it can lead to sort of

[00:27:20]   an unbalanced flying experience unless you're really good though to be honest you're probably not going to really notice it in the air you're just going to adjust to it

[00:27:29]   but you'll you'll have a platform that doesn't really handle prop wash as good as a true X or a squished X because on the pitch axis you've removed that longer lever and so the pitch AIS is

[00:27:45]   just sort of going to struggle the way you can fix this is to pit tune it and basically the there's two Sliders in the pitch tune that that specifically push the pitch values up

[00:27:57]   and down down the pitch D gain and the pitch I and P and I gain and so all you really need to do on a dead cat setup is push the pitch pids higher and that will artificially kind of fix

[00:28:14]   the it it'll just give more authority to the pitch axis as a Band-Aid from it not having as longer of a lever hopefully the frame is good enough the Glides are where it's nice and quiet and you

[00:28:28]   have some head room in the tune and you can do that at at the end of the day it'll never fly as good as a TR X but you can at least push the pitch values up higher and have it feel more

[00:28:41]   balanced so it's feels somewhat as good but a TRX rig is always going to have that extra mechanical leverage on the pitch axis which really helps because we spread weight out on the pitch axis

[00:28:57]   so so it's not the end of the world most people won't notice it if you tune it to have more more pit gains on the pitch axis it becomes really difficult to feel the difference

[00:29:12]    but all said and done like the pitch axis is the axis that you want the to push the motors as far out as possible on because that's the AIS that we're spreading all this weight on so it's

[00:29:25]   you know the dead get setups are going to limit the entire build but I mean here's the other thing right if you're doing a dead cat setup the only reason to do that is if you're going to fly it

[00:29:36]   cinematic like when when you go dead cat with the front arms the thing starts to crash really bad because the the camera becomes the farthest forward point right so if I this is the dead cat Glide

[00:29:50]   right so if I nose this in if I crash this in into something like this the propellers will hit first but then the propellers will bend and as you can see the F the camera is going to

[00:30:06]   smash next the ends of the arms here where my eyeball is they're not anywhere near the ground yet so a dead cat rig crashes horrible and you end up breaking top plates and bottom plates and cameras

[00:30:23]   all the time because the front motors have been pulled back like this so a dead cat rig being flown freestyle sucks because you just mangle the the main body and the main body is a bastard

[00:30:36]   to replace all the time right you really want for a freestyle rig you want the arm ends to hit first because they're nice and strong and thick right your arms are 5 mm your top and bottom plate

[00:30:47]   is going to be like two 2 and a half millimet and your camera is up there too right which is kind of the most fragile other than the antenna the most fragile part of the rig so the

[00:30:58]   only real reason to do the dead cat thing is if it's a cinematic rig and a cinematic rig you're not going to really be pushing it into prop wash typically so it tends to kind of work you a dead

[00:31:11]   cat rig you're never going to get it tuned as good as a true X or a squished X freestyle rig but it typically doesn't matter because it's the only reason to do it is for

[00:31:22]   cinematic work so it's kind of interesting like the the dead cat layout ends up working kind of fine because of the scenario that you're going to fly that rig in which is Cinematic stuff which is

[00:31:39]   typically floating around being real gentle with it and so it kind of works great question dude Kevin summer says did the 0603 is overheat on you 703 would be better in

[00:31:55]   that regard I would think the I never really pushed I never really put the 603s on anything that would overheat them I did run them on a lightweight 75mm analog rig and they didn't seem to

[00:32:10]   overheat but I never put them onto a walks snow rig just because I kind of knew that they were overheat right 603 is even worse that's a 2:1 ratio of width to height and again 1

[00:32:21]   millimeter motor shaft on the 603 so it just doesn't make sense but think of it this way the 80 we we came to the conclusion that the 802s were overheating and an 802 is a motor that's

[00:32:34]   going to run way cooler than a 603 or a 703 right so if the 802 is overheating a 703 is is going to as well there he is the German with his hot dog there he goes see you later buddy be a good

[01:33:36]   went and I slowed it down 50% slower and so when I went frame by frame it was doubling the frames because the sequence because I was trying to slow it down to 25% and if you do that with 60 frames

[01:33:54]   yes you're going to get doubled frames that's that sucks and then you don't even realize that the sequence is in 60 frames cuz when you at when you export you export to the best YouTube

[01:34:09]   settings which are 30 frames so all I needed to do in here that there were a couple of clips that I wanted to slow down to half speed oh

[02:29:29]   throttle control sit through it's a lot to learn but that's the only way if you don't set your throttle Expo absolutely perfect it will hurt you it will literally make the situation worse

[02:29:43]   so if you're not willing to sit through a half an hour of me explaining it don't set it because like I said it will literally make it worse and using anyone else's throttle Expo settings
