[00:02:10]   these are on thingiverse but so we've got 9.5 offset 7.5 offset oh this is a little chin spoiler thing chin protector thing oh there's a thick and a thin one and then 5.6 off set so

[00:02:30]   these the offset refers to where the camera is being placed one of the one of the only issues with the grino frame is the top plate here the design of the top plate having these these angles on

[00:02:45]   the edge here going inwards you end up getting a bunch of top if if you run any significant amount of uptilt from what I've seen you get a whole bunch of top plate in

[00:02:56]   view so with these we're going to be able to adjust where the camera sits and hopefully move the camera forward enough that the the the top plate is not in view props are going to be in view

[00:03:11]   but that's fine you can run like gray props on the front and they'll pretty much disappear the whole top plate and view thing is it would drive me absolutely insane so I'm going to do

[00:03:21]   everything that I possibly can to get the top plate out of view as a last resort I will just take a Dremel with a big old wheel and I'll put some angles into the top plate and I

[00:03:34]   might even just straight up cut th this whole like just basically cut it to be instead of where it's at now I'll cut it to be hopefully without wrecking the I'll I'll take as much

[00:03:51]   material off as I can but I can't take a ton off because then I'll break the the front of the damn thing so I'm going to do everything that possibly can to get that top plate out of view

[00:16:34]    chasing the cyclists G RC I want to say made used to make these prop guards which are really strong these are like I trust these to actually fly around people with sort of not really

[00:16:53]   but sort of so I originally built this with the Vista and then the the Vista camera the the the old school gray DJI camera which is very long which is what this camera cage was built for well

[00:17:10]   then at some point I had to pull it apart I think the ESC was bad I had to pull it apart and for some reason I decided let me put WalkSnail in this so I put WalkSnail in this well

[00:17:23]   the WalkSnail camera is really short and it there's a ton of the carbon camera cage in view which you kind of can't do anything about so now and when I when I switched it from the I had

[00:17:40]   the Vista in the back and then but then the WalkSnail 25 by 25 only fits in the front here so I completely rewired it to have the stack in the back and the WalkSnail in the front but now I've

[00:17:52]   got all this camera cage in View and there's nothing you can do about that so I'm now going to take this thing apart again not today but at some point I'm going to take this apart again and

[00:18:07]   put it back onto a Vista with the stack back up front I guess I mean I I could I guess I can just leave the stack in the back and just put the Vista in the front why not but I'm I'm

[00:18:20]   very annoyed that I'm G to that I took it from a Vista to WalkSnail and I can't deal with the camera Cage being in view so now I have to go back to aista but that's okay

[00:19:01]   can and hopefully have it stop dropping an arm so that I can bring it to Rampage and batter the living hell out of it but this thing is it's interesting with these guys on it it

[00:19:11]   actually flies pretty okay with these on it but speaking of brain 3D I also got two qav s mounts which I was hoping to run for Rampage on the on the qvs build that I finished up a

[00:19:38]   few days ago but instead it decided to catch on fire and burn itself to death so I didn't need to rush and order these that stinks of electrical fire still

[00:19:54]   but at some point this qvs will be put back together it the the ESC just caught fire halfway through the first battery no reason just just it was a it was a

[00:20:11]   t-motor Pacer ESC 30x30 ESC from FPV crate this is a full FPV crate build actually and everything was fine Motors weren't getting hot and then it just blew up and

[00:20:31]   in a very similar fashion to it was the exact same situation as the the the rexis everything was fine halfway through the F like tune is fine flying it around a little bit I I think it happened on the

[00:20:48]   second battery with that one Motors were not getting hot all as well starting to think about like tuning it and it the ESC just commits suicide and just explodes and on both of

[00:21:05]   them the the flight controllers got pretty burned but there's a chance that they're okay it's such a shitty situation because it's flight controllers are now what like 50

[00:21:21]   $60 and both of these they're burned but like they're not burned anywhere that it should cause like a major issue but like so so the cheap bastard in me wants to just drop another ESC on

[00:21:38]   either one of them and see if it's okay but if I do that and the flight controller is not okay and it potentially blows up the new ESC or the receiver or the VTX or God knows

[00:21:53]   what then I wasted even more money so what I might do is just get the super cheap Speedy B esc's 30x30 for the one which kind of fits it's an FPV crate build it's kind of

[00:22:11]   like a budget build so that that kind of fits snag one of the 30x30 Speedy B esc's for it apparently they're great and then for the rexis I already have a speedy BC literally in that bag 20 x 20

[00:22:26]    but I'm tempted on on the rexis to do the t-motor stack so I'm not totally sure about what I'm going to do there I think I'm going to end up just putting the the Speedy B 20 x 20 on there

[00:22:40]   because that rexis build I'm going to so that's the 03 build for chasing the cyclists in a little bit higher quality but I'm going to eventually have there's a saying in the in the

[00:22:55]   Cinematic in in the the film world to is one and one is none if you have one of something it's going to break immediately when you get to set and you're screwed so you have to have two

[00:23:04]   of everything so the rexis same thing as the qav C they are not as efficient but they are way stronger than the AOS c right now my my setup on Vistas is AOS CNA 35 and I'm sorry 25 rather

[00:23:24]   and qav CNA which is also 2.5 and when I'm testing I fly the qav and then when it's time to actually chase the cyclist and I need as much efficiency as possible I run the AOS

[00:23:39]   and I'm going to kind of do the same thing here I think so the the rexis will be the Workhorse that I just use for for testing the site see if it's going to fail safe if it does fail safe it's not

[00:23:49]   going to explode like the AOS CNA and so it doesn't have to have the t-motor stack in it right might as well throw the cheap speedy ESC at it and then on the AOS the

[00:24:04]   the current so I can't just convert the old AOS CNA because the the 03 requires different camera mounting so I have I have a new AOS C current generation frame to be built and I

[00:24:20]   think for that I'm going to put the fancy expensive t-motor stack in it because that's the and that's the one that's going to get actually flown in the sketchy situation right around the

[00:24:29]   cyclist and whatnot so I think that's what's how it's going to shake out but I keep second guessing myself I keep feeling like I should just buck up the money and buy another one of these

[00:24:41]   t-motor 20 X2 Stacks to put in both but I've actually heard from some people that the t-motor 20 X20 Stacks are blowing up these are people that are on 6s and this is what I wanted to kind of

[00:24:52]   talk about both of these builds so I've been saying forever that with micros with anything smaller than 5 in freestyle 4S is the way to go when you get to 5S freestyle 2306 you know

[00:25:12]   1600 KV 1700 KV 1800 KV 2207 these are Big Motors that are going to pull a ton of amps through the through the electrical system and that's where 6s becomes significantly

[00:25:26]   more efficient so with a 5-in freestyle rig there is no reason to build it 4S unless it's like long range but that's not freestyle so yes 5-in freestyle rigs 6S for sure anything smaller 4S and

[00:25:44]   the rexis and that qav are a perfect example of this one of the big reasons a the main reason is that you don't the the smaller power trains don't pull enough amps that there's any significant

[00:26:01]   benefit of success is there a benefit sure but it's not a significant benefit in my opinion and so you're you're going up to a higher voltage for almost nothing for almost no positives there's

[00:26:17]   a big negative though and that's esc's catching on fire the the in the qav that is a t t- motor they don't actually make it I'm sure that the the general thinking at this point

[00:26:32]   is t-motor expensive line of ESC and flight controllers are made by Aon which is why they're so awesome and then t-motor has the velock and the Pacer line of less expensive Electronics I

[00:26:48]   think the prevailing theory was that the either one I don't remember which I don't remember if it was the Pacer or the velock but one of them was made by mamba but t-motor is a motor company

[00:27:02]   thus the name t-motor it doesn't seem like they're making their own Electronics it feels like they're having someone else make them for them and but in theory there's still decent

[00:27:17]   quality that 30x30 55 amp ESC catches on fire on 6s halfway through the first B battery this I forget what oh that's right this was an this was a [@$#%] acon 20 X20 this is a 35 amp acon 20 X20 ESC

[00:27:40]   again meant for 5 in rigs catches on fire on sixs I can almost guarantee you in both of these cases if I'd been running 4S they wouldn't have caught on fire the 30x30 ESC it deserved to

[00:27:56]   catch on fire and die because it's a 30x30 ESC the 20x20 did not deserve that I should have just been running that rig on 4S the first couple of batteries that I ran on it were 4S and it was totally

[00:28:10]   fine but some people say that on micros there is a benefit to 6s and a jackass I said ooo I've tested that but it's been a while since I've tested it so let's do it again because I can't believe myself

[00:28:25]   if I haven't retested something within the last year here and it burned to the ground so there's your example both in both of these cases I am like 99% sure that that

[00:28:43]   that if I'd been running them on 4S they would have been fine 6s is pushing these Electronics to their limit right these electronics are built they the spec sheet tell you 3S to 6s and so when

[00:28:57]   you run them on 6s you're pushing them all the way to the Limit you're you're not leaving yourself any leeway whatsoever regardless of the size of the motors you're just pumping

[00:29:09]   a shitload of voltage into these things and if there are any inconsistencies in there if there's anything that's too close together if there's any solder ball that manages to get get its way in

[00:29:20]   there it's going to explode the reason why I'm 99% sure that it's related to this is that they flew fine they both flew completely fine they weren't oscillating they weren't flying

[00:29:34]   away they were great everything was cool and then all of a sudden they caught on fire and burned to the ground like if the pit tune was [@$#%] up if it was the wrong version of blue jay if any of

[00:29:47]   these things that are like BetaFlight or firmware or tune related were wrong it would they wouldn't have caught on fire when they did they would have been oscillating that it would have been

[00:29:59]   obvious there would have been problems that were there from the moment that I and in MO in both cases actually I would have armed it and it would have immediately exploded so in both

[00:30:12]   of these cases it's just [@$#%] quality electronics and that's been a thing in FPV forever right and it's kind of our fault we we demand that this stuff be

[00:30:25]   cheap we smash it into so why wouldn't we demand that right it's makes sense but at the same time it's incredibly frustrating I would gladly pay more

[00:30:40]   money well I mean I do the acon stuff is is a little bit more expensive I would pay if there was a company that made bulletproof escs and flight controllers and we knew that it was

[00:30:55]   bulletproof people had been running them tests had been I don't know I don't know how we get to that point but if there was a known quantity I would pay a lot more for either the flight

[00:31:10]   controller or the ESC but we just don't have it man even even like the acon stuff it's not infallible the the this Aon 20 X20 35 amp ESC was an old one and apparently the ver version one

[00:31:28]   20 x2s from acon were not reliable it's like we need a company that like from the jump has a strong Quality Control process in place and none of them do and it's incredibly frustrating and so

[00:31:47]   next time you have a rig catch on fire just remember that it's not just you and it's probably had nothing to do with you it might have if the signs were there if it's Ting if it's making weird

[00:31:59]   noises and you just keep beating on it if you're Turtle moding the [@$#%] out of it right there's all these situations where it is our fault but if halfway through the first battery everything is

[00:32:09]   running totally fine and Sparks start shooting out of it's falls out of the air and just explodes might not have been your fault welcome to FPV it's awful

[00:32:22]   sometimes it's been a long time since I've had like I've had I think this is one of the reasons that I've been so obsessed with tiny whoops because first of all when they

[00:32:37]   fail they don't burn to the ground they just stop working and it's like oh oh well they're also a lot less expensive a lot easier to fix both of these rigs like with

[00:32:55]   both of these rigs catching on fire like each one of them it's like a it's like four hours of my life that literally went up in Flames that I'm going to have to spend like 4 hours pulling it all

[00:33:06]   apart swapping everything out what I mean setting everything back up so f everything bigger than tiny whoops I guess I don't know I I'm now that I've been flying

[00:33:23]   outside I'm like in love with flying outside again but like right away the FPV gods are like [@$#%] you so that's really annoying the WASP majors are

[00:33:48]   on I flew a sketchy little neighborhood battery boy do they make some power the ESC is dropping an arm though so it never ends this is a hack RC ESC that I believe actually came from

[00:34:11]   FPV crate as well so I think I'm going to have to pull it apart and swap the ESC out but I didn't really it only did it once it did it after the biggest blip of throttle that I gave it I was was just

[00:34:27]   flying in front of the house and I was trying to keep the noise level down but I had to do one big throttle punch and so I left it at Full Throttle for like I don't know quarter of a second

[00:34:38]   and then another quarter it was fine for like another quarter of a second and then it I'm like no but maybe it was just a fluke Electronics don't work but I'm going to take it out and

[00:34:57]   actually push it hard in a safe place and then it'll either catch on fire or maybe it just won't do it anymore one of the cool interestingly enough in in both of these rigs that

[00:35:11]   have caught on fire in the last month they are set up ESC flight controller right on top so when the ESC caught on fire on both of them it just roasted the [@$#%] out of the flight

[00:35:23]   controller I didn't realize this cuz I haven't really had it happen because been running the Aon 30x30 35 amp esc's in my Glides forever and they're indestructible but if a Glide catch like

[00:35:36]   if this catches on fire all it's going to do is ruin this battery strap right there's no flight controller on top of the ESC so that's like an a really cool little added benefit of the Glide frame

[00:35:50]   having the the 20x20 flight controller up front is that it's isolated from the ESC so I'm going to go out and push the [@$#%] out of this thing and if the ESC catches on fire it catches on fire

[00:36:02]   it's like let it fine do it prick die burn there I do have some wires running under the ESC so they might get a little toasted which would suck but still at least it won't kill

[00:36:15]   I have tons of extra wire right at least it won't kill the flight controller unless it burns all the way to the ground but we'll see I can already tell that these motors make big gas

[00:36:27]   power good God let me get a weight though I didn't I haven't weighted all up now it's got all the stuff on it battery straps GoPro Mount props all the good

[00:36:39]   stuff so I need a session and I need a battery these are the batteries that I run they are tattoo rline version one 6s 1050s hard freestyle I get four to 5 minutes out of these limp it around I

[00:36:58]   can get upwards of like 10 minutes and sweet a little bit heavier than than some of my other ones but 611 61.4 just 6 611 that's not bad I always try to stay as close to 600

[00:37:14]   as possible I was a little bit worried because these motors are heavier significantly like a gram and a half heavier than the F40 Pro 4S that I usually run but

[00:37:29]    to give you to give you a comparison this is the Rossi so that's an analog rig this is the Rossy the rosinante which is the the digital freestyle rig it is a little bit heavier

[00:37:46]   because the Vista is a fat bastard this guy is wow I didn't realize it was that heavy 625 and it's on t-motor F4 Pro fours this is set up as light as I can get it but just the Vista is heavy so

[00:38:02]    625 for the Rossy and then this is like the full-blown lightweight rig just Glide analog this is like the the formula that I absolutely love and this should be why is it that heavy it's 6113 what

[00:38:19]   is so heavy about you when what what have you been eating wny are you not 605 this one was supposed to be 605 I guess it was the other one that would make sense the

[00:38:34]   one with the Wasps on it now when it had t-motor F40 Pro 4S it was 605 how did this get to 613 it's whatever it's less than 10 extra grams I I I won't notice the difference the look The the ends of

[00:38:48]   the the weight on the ends of the arms is the important bit the all up weight of the rig the these things make thousands of grams of thrust so an extra 8 gram is not that big of a

[00:39:05]   deal especially because it's not on the ends of the arms the ends of the arms are what rotate around and affect the pit Loop performance as well as just the general feel of the Quad when you

[00:39:18]   move the sticks around the the all up weight you only really notice when you use the throttle and there's a massive delay any there anyway because it has to move the whole way to the rig

[00:39:29]    and these make so much power that you won't feel the extra 8 gram of weight in this case but it is still puzzling to me where this thing got

[00:39:45]   heavier oh there it is the it's got the this is the stronger X plate but it is heavier and I bet you it's got the yep it's got the strong top plate on it too okay and it's probably got this

[00:40:00]   no it's got the old school bottom plate on it but it does have the stronger top plate and a stronger X plate so that's it that's where this thing gained seven grams I'm okay with that th

[00:40:11]   this base plate here Bob designed because I kept breaking the other ones and it is significantly stronger so I'm cool with that all three of these guys are going to get

[00:48:25]   inverted yaw spin is there a fix for that I'm us using betaf flate stock tune sort of Elias so think about how ya'all works right so pitch if you want to pitch forward both of the rear Motors

[00:48:42]   accelerate both of the front Motors break and so on a pitch movement this is going to push these are going to drag and so you get basically a rotation it's not perfect it does go up

[00:48:57]   and over a little bit because the rear Motors can push harder the the the the extra thrust is always going to be more than the breaking when we cruise around we cruise around at like 25% throttle

[00:49:12]   right so these can drop down by 25% to in a perfect world they can drop down by 25% to zero but then the rear can go all the way from 25% up to 100 so and these can't drop down to zero because

[00:49:30]   then they would stall out it would fall out of the sky right so the the long and short though is that the breaking force is never going to equal the thrust force and the harder you are on the sticks

[00:49:41]   this is the important part the harder you are with your input the more thrust these are going to produce if you very slowly very gently pitch forward like if so if you bring this thing up if you

[00:49:54]   chop the throttle and it's just falling if if you very gently pitch forward you might be able to have an equal amount of breaking and thrust and you might be able to have this thing perfectly spin

[00:50:06]   on its CG on this Center of CG not Center just on its CJ same thing with Roll All right but the harder you push the thumb stick the more it's going to break these down all

[00:50:22]   the way as as far as it can but as soon as you get remotely aggressive on the sticks it's going to make way more thrust on the other Motors than and it's going to outdo the braking so you're

[00:50:34]   almost always going to have a little bit of this motion rather than a perfect barel roll make sense now yaw is a whole different animal yaw does not have a propeller to

[00:50:50]   make it rotate right we would have to have like on the tail boom of a of a collective pitch helicopter you would have to have a vertical spinning propeller back here to make this thing

[00:51:01]   yaw with direct thrust right quadcopters don't have that so the way that they make y'w happen is that you've got two Motors that are spinning One Direction you've got two Motors that are spinning

[00:51:14]   the opposite direction so what it does is it accelerates two and it breaks two down in the same way of pitch and roll but the problem is that it's not using direct thrusts to do it's just using

[00:51:28]   the rotation of the motor like if you spin if you jack your car up and you spin one of the front one of the non-driven tires around get it spinning and then you grab it when you grab it

[00:51:40]   your arms are going to go like this right because it has a bunch of momentum to it's has a bunch of centrif centrifugal force same thing happens here two Motors are going to break

[00:51:51]   that's like when you grab the tire on your car or anything that's spinning a Merry around thing you grab it and there's there's that momentum so that's the breaking force two of these

[00:52:01]   are going to break down and that's going to want to rotate the frame they can only break down a little bit though so the other two Motors that are going to speed up to create that rotation in the

[00:52:12]   opposite direction they have to do the majority of the work and they're producing thrust when they do that and there's no way around that so no matter what the if you just yaw the tiniest

[00:52:24]   little bit the braking Force maybe can can if you do it gently the breaking force can match the thrust so you can rotate this thing just a little bit without it jumping up but it's you're

[00:52:38]   only getting the amount of torque that you can get from the breaking force which is not a lot the majority of y'all and if you want to rotate this thing any more than a couple of degrees it's all

[00:52:49]   going to be thrust and there's no way around that but in the same way that we talked about a minute ago from pitch and roll the gentler you are the better when inverted yaw spins go wrong and land you

[00:53:04]   in a tree is when you rotate it around and Hammer the yaw stick to the side because when you are super aggressive on the yaw stick the the two Motors that break do pretty much nothing you're

[00:53:18]   inverted and then the other two Motors are going to go full bananas and that is going to pull you down really quick so the the the magic of inverted yaw spins is doing them as gently as possible and

[00:53:32]   as early as possible so what you want is a big throttle blast you need to generate all the upward momentum you possibly can and then all at once you're going to jump off the throttle as

[00:53:44]   quickly as you can and you're going to get it inverted as quickly as you possibly can and if you do that right you're still going to have a bunch of upward momentum so hammer the throttle Z

[00:53:55]   as quickly as you can chop the throttle turn the thing over pitch it roll it whatever you want to do whichever direction you turn it over it does not matter at all you just need to get it

[00:54:04]   turned over as quickly as you possibly can and get off the throttle as quickly as you possibly can and then you need to start yawing it as quickly as you can and as gently as you can the the slower

[00:54:17]   you yaw it the less thrust these motors are going to make to pull it back down and so that's the trick to doing inverted yaw spins and not getting stuck in trees is to do all those and it's

[00:54:29]   going to be like all at once it's going to be like and then nice I went off camera but like and then nice and slow and when you're coming around nice and slow it looks better too because you're asking a

[00:54:44]   lot of your viewer right like you're taking your camera and you're shooting it up into the sky and it's like oo and then all of a sudden you flip the whole world upside down and the viewer is

[00:54:54]   going to be like what cuz their eyes are going to be looking at something and it's going to be like on the bottom of the screen and then you're going to who and they're and they're

[00:55:02]   going to have to track that thing on upside down the whole world's going to turn upside down and then they they need a second to like wait wait what what just happened and so if you do all of

[00:55:11]   that and then you spin around really fast you're it's just like wait wait oh oh oh like they can't figure out what the hell is going on so with a nice slow rotation your viewer actually has some

[00:55:24]   chance at like locking their eyes onto like some kind of a subject and oh cool and watching that slowly go across the screen so that's what's going on that's a great question

[00:55:36]   those those are those are the kinds of questions that I absolutely love to talk about I I've spent a lot of time over the years kind of like dissecting what happens on the sticks

[00:57:06]   point whenever you move the sticks you go off set point the more aggressive your pids are the more aggressively it's going to try to get back onto set point so technically speaking the looser your

[00:57:16]   tune is the the less aggressive the yaw is going to be if you accidentally screw up and jam a bunch of yaw in so your stock beta flate tune is actually really working in your benefit
