[00:01:37] Welcome Friends my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me Ciotti welcome to whoop Wednesday tonight we're going to talk about whether or not running no antennas whatsoever on your goggle module
[00:01:53] gives you better performance because it only lets the strongest signals into the module so we're going to test it we're going to look at some testing that I've already done
[00:02:06] from this L of flying and we'll test it live and we'll look at some testing that I did at the the RC carplace we are also going to fly WalkSnail on 100 frames a second
[00:02:22] and I'm going to bounce back and forth between 100 frames with the new firmware newish firmware and 60 frames a second on the o OG firm I guess and see if I can tell a difference I
[00:02:38] I should be able to it seems it's a 10 millisecond difference which should be noticeable even if it's not noticeable it's still there just because you can't notice the difference like if
[00:02:51] if you reduce latency but you can't feel it's doesn't matter it's there like less latency is a good thing no no matter what whether you can feel it or not means pretty much
[00:03:04] nothing if it's a matter of like spending a couple hundred to get like one less millisecond or two less milliseconds then it kind of matters like you won't be able to feel that
[00:03:16] and it's not enough of a difference to Warrant the cost kind of deal but 2 milliseconds here 2 milliseconds there 2 milliseconds somewhere else that's going to start to
[00:03:30] add up although I mean we're at the point where run lrs that's like the best that there is in terms of latency and then the video systems there's not a whole lot that you
[00:03:45] can really do right like the but if new firmware comes out like what like with WalkSnail and it offers a lower latency mode that's a big deal especially because as we
[00:04:00] found out on Monday night's stream it doesn't affect the DVR I was hesitant I wasn't hesitant to but I I didn't update the fir the WalkSnail firmware because I assumed that when I went to
[00:04:15] the 100 frames of second mode that would then grenade the quality of the DVR but apparently it doesn't like and so there's no reason not to literally there's just no reason to not update
[00:04:30] your WalkSnail firmware to get that lower latency it's not going to affect your DVR the onboard DVR or even the goggle DVR admittedly I do kind of wish that there was a way to have the
[00:04:45] dvb in 100 frames a second that would be kind of cool you would take a hit in resolution but who cares to be able to switch in and out of that would be really really neat but it's okay
[00:05:01] it's wouldn't get used very often because it would go down into like 540p and then but it would be super cool to be able to have 100 frame per second DVR of these little RC drift cars
[00:05:14] but 10860 is amazing so in the chat Cloud Hopper was first Andrew Taylor was next Frank Nicholas hockey rounds FPV toast Northern Tier Scotty Scott Smoking Dog Cujo slow Cal
[00:05:26] Cloud Hopper again cisal FPV rock crawler Scotty Scott again Andrew Taylor notice Cole Powers Curtis Hayes Tom Johnson MC MCAS if you want the gangle man to say your name either tag me by
[00:05:39] typing at CiottiFPV or just CiottiFPV no spaces or get your asses into the chat early and say something that's all you got to do rock crawler tagged me and said CiottiFPV and gangly gang Striker
[00:05:51] saysand I'm caught up look at that this is a Q&A live stream ask any questions that you've got in the chat if you want to do a Super Chat to keep this HO train rolling that would be awesome
[00:06:03] you can also jump over to C fpv.one take [@$#%] so you can do that do me a favor though if you do that tag me and saycotti check your PayPal and I'll check my email and I'll give
[00:06:18] you the shout out that you deserve for supporting the insanity this is a totally crowdfunded thing your support is how I keep doing this full-time patreon is how you can help me out the
[00:06:28] most for sure three bucks a month 10 cents a day you can jump on there get a ton of cool stuff technical articles on the website full Discord access you'll get sent a link to a YouTube
[00:06:40] playlist with like sketchy flying I don't want to be public patreon only live streams that we've done half done edits that I want your guys opinions on a couple of Facebook groups lots
[00:06:51] of fun stuff for joining patreon for just 10 cents a month do it help a brother out it's the best way that you can support me there's also a whole bunch of affiliate
[00:07:00] there's a whole bunch of affiliate links over there if you're not using an affiliate Link at this point when you're doing orders on the internet you are ruining a Content Creator's
[00:07:11] life singlehandedly it's your fault no it's only like 1 to 6% I forget myself it's no big deal but look replace your bookmarks replace your url bar suggestions with affiliate links
[00:07:26] and then you don't have to ever think about it again and you're supporting people that are I'm making cool [@$#%] for you to watch for free on YouTube so there you go you can spend money
[00:07:34] supporting me you can spend time supporting me or you can be smart and support me without doing anything H you'll put a little bit of time in switching your bookmarks over or your
[00:07:43] url bar things if you type like if you go to Amazon and you use your url bar like me and type AMA and it and it prepopulates the rest off on the right side there they'll be a button to
[00:07:54] remove that suggestion so remove all of your existing Amazon suggestions and then hit my Amazon affiliate link a couple times and you're good to go it'll it'll recommend the affiliate link every
[00:08:04] time you type AMA that's how you support people without even thinking about it my friends jpv saysdid you get your printer up and running yet I haven't I haven't even plugged it in yet
[00:08:14] I don't really have anything to print at the moment and I want to do it on a live stream and with the family vacations and it's just been that's the last thing that I've been thinking
[00:08:25] about but soon there will be a live stream old man 3D prints for the first time the last person on Earth to last person in FPV to start 3D printing something I got to
[00:08:39] think of a cool title for the stream and then we'll do it get it plugged in send something to it play around with the software get frustrated it's coming cmk with the cv.com link in the
[00:08:51] chat thank you brother and hello that's what we're doing tonight my friends Q&A are no antennas on your goggle receiver actually better what is 100 frames per second
[00:09:06] like on WalkSnail can it close the gap a little bit when when I fly when I fly the the WalkSnail rigs down here freestyle I absolutely notice the the extra latency versus analog and so
[00:09:25] I'm very curious if the 100 frame per second mode which appears to cut we're going to check this tonight but it appears to cut the latency down from like 32 33
[00:09:37] milliseconds down to 22 I think is what I saw on Monday night's stream that seems like too big of a difference but we we'll check it's tells us in the goggle display
[00:09:50] that would be super cool because it's already harder to fly these things around the house because of the extra weight but then the extra latency makes it that much
[00:10:01] harder if there's not that much extra latency maybe this will be a little bit more realistic to rail around the house with and do big gnarly stuff so we'll see we're going to do
[00:10:12] our six batteries on this and on analog rigs as we test the the no antenna Theory so that should be cool Co power says get off my build plate what's that mean build plate oh oh oh oh
[00:10:30] 3D printers build plate is a 3D printer thing I I know some things I did a grand turma 7 stream yesterday and completely forgot to like put a thumbnail on it that was
[00:10:44] interesting I still need to do that I also like to take to make those private actually I I put them in the in the patreon I put them in the the patreon only Bing Bong what I'm
[00:11:03] saying here let me do it real quick shook wave 808 says serious question I was wondering can you actually blindly tell the difference in KV not so much 5 in rigs but tiny whoops
[00:11:16] I'd like to see a blind test live on stream it is night and day the the the the the different KVs are a significant difference can't really do a blind test because I need another
[00:11:31] FPV pilot and I'm all alone but it's very obvious and not only can you feel it but you can hear it's like so obvious the the the the props spin up
[00:11:47] significantly more the what's a what's a much more difficult thing to tell is different motor sizes at the same KV especially when the the the motor sizes are close to each other
[00:12:05] if there's a big difference in Stater volume but they're the same KV you'll be able to hear the difference because the the bigger Stater motor will be able to push the propeller a lot harder and spin
[00:12:15] it up to a higher RPM but like 2306 versus 2207 for example you can just barely hear the difference as I was talking about a minute ago though it doesn't really matter if you can feel
[00:12:33] the difference or not the difference is there and it is a real thing the data has shown that and that's all that matters like whether or not we can feel the difference it's really
[00:12:46] like who cares the difference is there and more power is more power better response time is better response time like this whole like desperation to like feel the difference between these things
[00:13:02] it's like like I get it right like you want to feel better about the money that you just spent but it's there the the thrust testing doesn't lie so if you make a change to your rig
[00:13:14] that is making a difference and you can't feel the difference all that means is that either a you're not sens your your eyeballs and ears and fingers and whatever are not senstive sensitive
[00:13:28] enough yet yet I.E like you haven't flown enough batteries yet basically which is totally fine or you're adapting and this is the problem that I have I adapt to things very very quickly
[00:13:40] I think this came from many many many years of driving hundreds and hundreds of different cars at autocrosses as an instructor but it's hard to totally nail that down I I I don't know
[00:13:55] if that's totally the I don't know if that's the reason or not I'm not gonna put I guess I I made this playlist with Sim racing stream so that's cool I'll throw it in there and I take this to
[00:14:08] unlisted is that what I do I think that's what I do no no let's leave it public that's fine there you go congratulations I got to get the thumbnail up there though the thumbnails
[00:14:21] on the laptop farts all right so what's happening notice says I'll say it again that stream was dope thank you brother I only really get time to jump on the simrig maybe like once or twice a
[00:14:39] week and a lot of times I I just don't have it's a bunch of extra work to actually set the the stream up so usually I'm just what no this is for me this is for you
[00:14:51] know my enjoyment but it is fun to stream it because I like hanging out with you guys and some of you guys like to see the the car related stuff so I'm glad to be able to hang out with
[00:15:03] you guys a little bit more Curtis hay says building my first 2g4 AO on a cockroach 65 Frame hopefully the [@$#%] cockroach 65 V3 frame HappyModel 26,000 KV Motors ant light made a
[00:15:15] custom VTX antenna check General nonsense for picture can you say where I solder plug wires from cam plug they should be labeled the 2g4 is silk screened and so there should be pads
[00:15:43] labeled with like viid and then 5vt in ground I usually use the plug I'll solder the the correct plug onto the camera I don't know if I have any that I have direct soldered
[00:16:01] but there should be a pad somewhere on there that says viid next to it I mean you can power the the camera directly off the battery pads is there not a video pad on the
[00:16:16] damn thing maybe it's on the bottom it's on the bottom it's Vin video in yep there it is and then oh it's right next to the camera plug dude it's right there V for
[00:16:33] video in and then there's a 5vt pad right there and there's even a ground pad right there super simple there you go brother it's on the bottom right by the camera
[00:16:42] plug Curtis a says is that an okay setup totally I mean I personally don't like the ant light but some people do like it so cameras are a pretty personal option bt2.0 with 90° Bend nice dude
[00:17:01] strer says interesting question is the original whoop weight is the optimal whoop weight zero grams when does it get to a point where it starts feeling too light what point do you think that
[00:17:10] is can you give a guess it might be where we're at now with this super light one but it's super hard to tell just like just like with 3-in rigs for
[00:17:27] example I don't like the way that 3-in toothpicks fly they don't have enough weight for the prop size and so every time you come off the throttle they just like slam into an invisible brick wall
[00:17:37] they just have the the props are so big and they're always spinning so they're always disrupting the air and so but then they're so lightweight that they don't have the momentum to
[00:17:49] push through that disturbance in the air so but we're not there yet maybe we're getting close I have no idea this duct is got grass all over it I just can't stand I can't let that
[00:18:05] go get it out of there okay that's a little bit better we might be getting close but it's super hard to tell Curtis says should I print MC stinky in hard plastic
[00:18:17] or TPU definitely TPU if you print it in hard plastic you won't be able to get the camera into it Curtis Hayes also says unlisted means only people with the link can see the YouTube video it does
[00:18:28] indeed Walter says I like also the car ride race you're good thank you brother demo FPV enjoys the Sim streams jbo says I'm your newest Patron mate it's not much but but
[00:18:41] as I can I'll support more anything you guys do is amazing clicking the affiliate links hanging out in the chat clicking the thumbs up subscribing sending the channel link to the channel
[00:18:52] to your friends like there's plenty of stuff that you guys you guys can do for no money that is helpful if you a couple of bucks a month that's unbelievable never ever ever feel
[00:19:03] like you're not doing enough guys like doing literally anything is huge I did not start this live stream to be a full-time job I started it to spread all this info out it became a full-time job
[00:19:15] when I got laid off of my project management gig and I thought let's give this a shot so absolutely anything that you guys do is amazing don't ever feel like you need to do more
[00:19:28] it's hysterical that that we can do this together so just enjoy it and that's enjoy the info build better tune better provide feedback to folks in Discord come into
[00:19:44] chat and tell us about your most recent build and how much it sucks or how great it is or whatever that's what this is that that we've all built together here the whole doing it
[00:19:55] full-time thing allows me to put more effort and time into it right like I can put 40 50 sometimes 60 hours a week into FPV and that allows me to do more testing to give you guys more feedback
[00:20:09] and whatnot so it's super cool you guys are the best Cay says the flight controller is labeled the camera is not oh interesting the it is this is a cax ant here if
[00:20:32] you're looking down at the camera right if you're looking down at the camera the left is voltage the middle is ground the right is video you should be able to if you forget that or something
[00:20:48] you should be able to just search for kadex ant on one of the websites and look at a picture and they should have the the wires and you can just read the colors jbo also said says now that
[00:20:59] I've buttered you up it's time for me to start flying Outdoors I'm thinking the Mobula 8 and sticking with analog what whoop would you buy or build for your first outdoor rig the 85mm tiny
[00:21:10] whoops I'm not a fan of the frame gets so big that they're not all that durable and then there's a ton of the frame and propeller in the view of the camera which is just kind of silly
[00:21:24] and there aren't many people that have really put enough time into these 85mm rigs to figure out what the optimal motor and propeller and battery and all up weight is
[00:21:35] in my opinion the 75mm builds are where it's at my personal favorite is basically just a Mobula 7 elrs 1S with a motor swap these are the 0802 27,000 KV tiny whoop igal motors with the 1 and
[00:21:56] 12 mm motor shaft and then you run GemFan 1610s you converted it over to BT 2.0 and you run the folded cell 450mah BetaFPV or wee bed or tiny whoop BT 2.0 batteries and it absolutely rails
[00:22:15] this setup flies so good it's scary and it's very very very simple so this is what you should do not an 85 in my opinion if you want to go bigger than this if you need more power
[00:22:27] than this then then look at like some sort of a toothpick like a 2 and 1 half inch toothpick build where we at here Sher says oh I forgot about it I joined right
[00:22:40] before the stream but don't harass Josh oh oh oh Striker says that thank you Striker welcome to the gangly again both of you guys welcome to the gangly gang and then Walter says but don't don't
[00:22:57] harass Joshua about during his podcast deal and I'm caught up on chat cool let's dive in so we're going to talk about the the antenna thing first and we're going to do it in Premiere here so
[00:23:11] I flew a battery at the most recent RC drift car session that I went to with both antennas which you can see here all right so this is the optimal setup according to Nick Burns and it
[00:23:29] makes a lot of sense so this is a rapid fire module which uses sink pulse reconstruction and so what you want to give this module is different signals as as different signals as you possibly can
[00:23:44] and then let it combine them so by running two of these true RC 90° long Singularity antennas you can run them in an L shape here and the heads of the antennas are relatively far far apart
[00:24:00] maybe like a foot and a half apart so if you've got signal coming and bouncing off the window and hitting the well that's not a good example if you've got signal bouncing off the floor and
[00:24:12] hitting this first antenna it's going to take a little bit longer to get to that second antenna so you're you're feeding the module to different slightly different signals and then what the
[00:24:25] module is going to do is pick the better signal of the two but it also kind of when it when it has garbage if it has good data from the other antenna it's going to fill that in so that you have
[00:24:40] good good image where there would normally be static or garbage so this is really the ideal setup in most cases but when you're standing right next to where you're flying right
[00:25:02] here's where I'm flying all around here and then I'm standing right [@$#%] there the antennas are going to get all kinds of signal and so I've got these two I've got these two really nice
[00:25:18] quality true RC antennas that are able to pick up signal from a really powerful VTX miles and miles and miles and miles away right and now I'm flying 10et away from myself and the VTX is sending this
[00:25:35] signal out in all directions and it's bouncing off of all kinds of stuff and that's where maybe we don't want an antenna at all and that's what the racer that's what some tiny whoop Racers figured out
[00:25:51] a long time ago and it's been sort of this like sort it feels like a bit of a myth in a way but that's what I decided to test and we're going to take a look at I have not compared these so this is
[00:26:04] all going to be new to me as well and then what we're going to do is so so that's one scenario you are flying directly in front of yourself we're going to test live what happens in a
[00:26:19] house when you take the antenna off and on my guess is going to be that in the house we want to have the antenna because we're going to be going through the floor upstairs but there's a
[00:26:35] chance that when you're flying directly in front of yourself by removing the antennas you reduce the amount of garbage and bounces that are coming in and getting into the goggle module and
[00:26:49] maybe just maybe you will only get the strongest signal that's coming directly from the Quad into the goggles I also tested just one antenna so we're going to do a little three what what I
[00:27:03] want to try to do is sync three chunks of the video up where I fly the I I always fly the same path around the ra little track to chase them and I I think I can sync them up two antennas one
[00:27:16] antenna zero antennas and hopefully we can see so we we can see a difference between the three so let's get started so we're g to pick a spot where so right now we're we're double
[00:27:31] antennas all right so we're we're double antennas so let's pick this flag here as a starting point so I'm going to come up here and chop that and then I'm going to try to do like a
[00:27:43] full a full Chase around so Chase Chase Chase and I mean this looks pretty good but you can see there's some crap you can see there's some of course I crashed great keep crashing you keep
[00:27:58] crashing previous me you dummy let's do this we'll I'll cut it right at the crash all right so we're going to cut it there and then forward a little bit crash crash crash and come
[00:28:17] on all right and we're kind of like there again no I want to I I wanted all right here we go so now I'm chasing again that's good running into [@$#%] where did I crash that I crashed
[00:28:37] on that turn there so I can probably come in here and pick this up right around here okay cool so we'll do that Ripple delete all right so now we've got a little bit more of a run
[00:28:51] here just for comparison great and then there's another crash here that's fine all right good so that is going to be our two antenna clip so now I come home I show the two antennas I take one
[00:29:06] of the antennas off there it is and now we're heading back out so we'll try to pick it up at that flag again all right Chase Chase Chase crash of course go for a free
[00:29:21] ride all right here we go come on now yes perfect all right great so there we go Ripple delete Chase Chase Chase please don't crash pass me terrific and all right Chase Chase Chase great
[00:29:44] perfect okay I'm going to try to get a little bit more maybe here we go all right little bit more careful delete Chase Chase Chase okay moving around moving and
[00:30:04] grooving under the bridge backwards because massive epis all right cool so we've got we've got two laps each two antennas versus one antenna coming back in showing that
[00:30:24] there's only one antenna now right you guys saw that there it is right there you can see it right just the one antenna so nothing at all and then just the one cool
[00:30:40] landing and taking the other one off there you go you can see both of the antennas one and two and now I'm going to cut it right there and away we go
[00:31:00] and it might be a little bit better there is a chance that it is a little bit better we'll put them all side by side though in the same screen and that'll that should be a lot better of a
[00:31:18] test okay and right there and all right so here we go picking them up here here I want to try to sync this up so that there so that like I'm at the same point of the racetrack at the same time
[00:31:37] between these three but we'll we'll fart around with that in a minute after I edit out the constant crashing come on get it back over get it get it couldn't get
[00:31:54] it we're still on no antennas heading back out and all right this is a good spot to start gra delete okay good good good good good good good good okay almost a full run here this will be nice
[00:32:23] I'm going to use this clip for the main one all right perfect that should be just about enough that battery is now Dead awesome all right killer so I'm going to take
[00:32:39] this and move it to the end because that's just a quick one where does this start this starts here this might be good okay so let's take these two put them on video channel
[00:32:53] three take these two put them on put them on video channel two and then take these three why am I doing this there we go put them on video channel one and
[00:33:08] then this guy is dead to me whatever okay so I'm going to take this guy and I'm actually going to shrink it down let's go down to let's try that we'll try 60%
[00:33:28] and then I thought I thought that I could just grab these and drag these but whatever so this is two antennas we'll go top left for this one I can probably make this a little
[00:33:44] bit bigger here now too I can make that a little bit bigger 70 I'm sure that I used to be able to just grab these and drag these whatever and then we're going to take this one
[00:34:03] here okay wait wait no so 340 250 70 I'm going to do the same thing 340 250 70 for the second clip all right and then these guys here we're going to go shrink it down to
[00:34:23] 70 and this one's going to be oh we'll put this one on the bottom no bottom all right cool should make it a little bit bigger okay good 960 880 960
[00:34:55] 800 80 great that's the clip right after it and then these guys here we're going to shrink these down to 70 and throw it all the way up top and move it over all right cool so now we can look
[00:35:12] at them all at the same time I might as well just pull these towards the center 1300 25070 1300 250 70 there we go this one though these guys I do want to pull towards the center no reason to
[00:35:32] have that massive Gap oh [@$#%] balls well it's fine there we go 510 250 510 all right there we go let's see I'm I have no idea I have no idea what this is going to
[00:35:51] show all right hold on let me make this a little bit bigger for you guys there we go okay cool so hold on let me do this let's let's Loop it so we're going to get rid
[00:36:04] of that we're going to take this we're going to take this we're going to copy it and then we're going to paste it paste it paste it now it'll Loop a couple of times all right let's
[00:36:24] see let me know in chat what you think so so top left is both antennas I forget where I put them is bottom one antenna I think bottom is one antenna and top right is no antennas that's what
[00:36:41] it is top right is no antennas so top left and top right should be the most different between each other although the bottom might be the best it might be the best to have
[00:36:51] just one antenna all right so top left swinging around there top left looks pretty good now I'm looking at top right top rate better I mean it still breaks up every once in a while on the top right
[00:37:17] there but man it does look good doesn't it all right back to the top left top right top left I'm kind of Shifting my eyes back back and forth see look top left just had a
[00:37:31] bunch of garbage in a row there was like a full second where it was there it was just like garbage garbage garbage garbage I'm not really seeing that on the top right it's seems to be
[00:37:43] just kind of good all the time there's a little tiny bit of garbage at the beginning on the top right dude I think no antennas is better what how the hell is that
[00:38:01] possible I mean I don't know why I said that no okay there there are moments where you get some garbage on the top right that's for sure what did you guys see that
[00:38:17] that's tough one of the I mean one of the big things is that it's not night and day it's not like a huge deal which is kind of a good thing because these antennas are expensive but I
[00:38:32] mean I would love to just not have the [@$#%] antennas on there the the goggles are much smaller with no antennas they'll fit in my bag better and if like if I'm going
[00:38:42] RC drift chasing [@$#%] it pop the antennas off what did you guys see what are you guys seeing though let me get caught up on chat and then I'll be able to oh wait I was
[00:38:54] caught up on chat okay no I'm not CMYK says what are your rapid fire settings good question that that night I was on the HD zero goggles so well no no no I have the same
[00:39:14] settings on both it's fine basically just the the the fancy rapid fire mode and then the whichever the OSD the the OSD is for whichever goggles you're on so rapid fire number one and
[00:39:40] then both antennas RSSI light and then the the excuse me the OSD position is very dependent upon what goggles you're using I think that's it isn't it I don't think there are any other settings audio on
[00:40:02] no there's no other settings so rapid fire number one is the main thing you want to always try to run that some cameras don't which is super annoying but always try to
[00:40:12] run rapid fire number one kiz Bartlett says at our club we've been adver we've been advising people to run no antennas for over a year very very cool I mean
[00:40:27] like just from looking at that no reason to run antennas like if you're going to be flying right in front of yourself if anything it's better like worst case scenario is it's
[00:40:39] the same but I think it's a little bit better right I'm super interested to see what you guys say Walter says your opinion is it better to power down the VTX yes for sure running the VTX
[00:40:54] on 25 Ms is the way to go because then it's not going to fire a signal all the way across the room and then have that bounce all the way back so you want to if you're flying right in front of
[00:41:07] yourself you almost always want to run 25 Ms to be honest with tiny whoops I pretty much run them all on 25 mws even the WalkSnail ones just because like you're never really flying tiny whoops
[00:41:19] far away from yourself when I when I sent the one up the 14400 foot radio tower I did turn the power up but how often do you do that right so if you're flying really close to yourself for
[00:41:36] sure you want your VTX power down to 25 yep Cloud Hopper says I'm unwinding SE 072 oh my God 26,000 KB Motors right now and finally got one Unwound without breaking or having to cut the wire the
[00:41:53] wires are breaking interesting they are 887 I haven't measured the wire size yet very cool clad Hopper I haven't seen any other data on 72s I don't think so that might be our
[00:42:09] start Cloud Hopper also says the 0 72s are way harder to work with since they're they're tiny that's crazy that from 0702 to 0802 there's that much of a difference huh I mean although it makes sense
[00:42:24] when you think about it percentage wise right it's like a 12 or 13% decrease in in size all right so nobody nobody seems to have any opinions on this let me let me try to sync these files up a
[00:42:43] little bit better how about that so I got those three there let me let me let me try to get these files perfectly in sync so that I'm exhausted mag and I were just at we're just learning some
[00:43:02] some more West Coast Swing and we were moving and grooving and I did not sleep all that well last night so it's going to be a yawny stream I apologize let me do this I let me try
[00:43:16] to get I want to try to get it to repeat over and over and over again just like all right so let's try hold on turn off turn off so oh the problem is going to be I
[00:43:33] don't I don't like just chase them the whole time man look at all that garbage though look at this right look at how much garbage there is towards the end of this clip garbage
[00:43:45] garbage garbage garbage garbage look at all that look at all that crap well here's the other thing here's the other thing no not that kind of party Jason black
[00:44:06] dancing Curtis a says at 38 starts three of us saying one antenna is better but no one tagged you aha where's that okay there it is Curtis Hayes says one antenna Walter says me too demo
[00:44:22] FPV says one antenna Walter says bad test interesting one antenna huh I wasn't even paying attention to the one antenna all right hold on hold on let's go back let's go
[00:44:38] back here we go hold up all right one an I'm now going to pay more attention to the one antenna there's a bunch of garbage in the beginning of the one
[00:44:53] antenna but there was just a big blur of garbage no there's a bunch of garbage on the on the one antenna what are you guys hi I mean what we can do is this
[00:45:27] o oo o let's do this let's do this let's play and then pause randomly and all right all right I need you guys to help me with this who want the fir who wants to help
[00:45:46] type if you want to help you're going to have to count you're going to have to count I need three people to help three people say I want to help and then I'm going to assign you I'm
[00:45:58] going to sign each of you a thing three people hurry up Hur Hur up Sean Hal says son ha with a $10 Super Chat thank you brother he says ordered mob Mobula 6 neon green black canopy from
[00:46:12] pyro confused about what motors I'm actually getting chose race 2500 picture showed 0702 26,000 or 20 25,000 rather am I missing something nope if you chose 25,000 you'll get them with 0802
[00:46:24] 25,000 that's awesome those are great Motors all right Shane Shane you're going to be top left Walter Curtis Hayes you're going to be top right all right so wait top left
[00:46:40] is two antennas so Shane you're going to be two antennas I'm going to explain more in a second so Shane is top left Curtis you are you can only count up to 10 but you're going to be top right
[00:46:54] which is no antennas and then Brad you're going to be bottom which is one antenna you guys need to count the garbage frames I'm going to play and then pause and play and pause and play
[00:47:08] and pause and play and pause and play and pause and every time your frame has any garbage in it like what you're seeing here this is a garbage frame if it's not perfectly clean if there's you
[00:47:19] know this red this is not it this blown out white from the windows this is not garbage this is this is okay you're looking for this [@$#%] so this would be you counting to one right so for this
[00:47:33] first frame this one top left is clean bottom is dirty top right is clean so the bottom is now at one ready and so now I'm just going to play and pause play and pause play and pause you guys
[00:47:46] got it and then and then when we stop you're you put your number up and remember which antenna versus no antenna versus whatever I told you that ready so the bottom one has a dirty frame now
[00:47:59] everybody got it ready here we go play pause this is clean this is fine top left is fine all three are fine play pause this is garbage top left top left is garbage I'm
[00:48:16] GNA do this for a minute to just dial Us in this is garbage on the bottom here bottom frame has garbage play pause top left frame has is garbage see it in there see that red in there you guys
[00:48:29] got it I'm going to start going faster because you just have to look at your own frame garbage on the top left the rest of these are fine wow top left is garbage
[00:48:48] again top right is garbage on this one no no no don't don't count Sean don't don't count Sean wait till the end wait till the end you guys good
[00:49:05] top left all three of these are garbage actually there's garbage in the top right this might be garbage on the top left bottom right bottom is garbage top left is okay
[00:49:27] top right is doing something weird but don't count it bottom is garbage see it see the garbage down here they're all clean actually we we we should do this together like this top
[00:49:42] rate is garbage the rest are fine they're all fine they're all fine top left has garbage on the bottom this might be top right has trash I think they're all
[00:50:14] fine top left is awful the rest are fine nope bottom has trash too top right's fine I don't think this is I think it's hard to tell this might just be like super blown out but I'm going to
[00:50:30] say bottom has garbage here they're all fine top left is awful the rest are fine oh the top left now dropped out so all right let me let it play and then we'll Loop it back
[00:50:49] again this is how to do it I think we just have to do this a bunch cuz we have to get a really big sample size so here we go keep going top right trash the rest is
[00:51:02] fine they're all fine they're all fine top left is trash I think they're actually all fine top life might be trash but maybe not they're all fine I'm going to start looking for like total garbage top
[00:51:26] right is total garbage I'm going to be less nitpicky if it's just a little bit garbage I'm going to let him let it get away with it top right is still trash bottom is trash top right is
[00:51:39] trash as well all clean I'm going to say top right is trash I think bottom is trash look at all this purple in here bot has lines of garbage the rest are fine this is tough I'm going to say
[00:52:04] top left has trash I'm just going to start saying which ones top right bad bottom bad I think they're all clean clean clean bottom bad top left we'll let it get away
[00:52:32] with no top left is bad you can see it in here top left is bad again clean bottom bad I think the Bottom's bad again oh wow top left bad bottom bad top left's bad again top left
[00:53:01] bad we're getting there top right bad bottom bad clean top right bad clean top right bad feel like the top right was pulling ahead but now it's starting to really fall apart
[00:53:27] clean NOP top right's bad again top right's bad again it's okay that it's stacking up like this we're by by doing it over and over and over and over again like this
[00:53:40] we eliminate the fact that different parts of the racetrack might be better and or worse what I mean clean top left bad top right
[00:54:00] bad bottom bad and if we if I screw up on one or two it's fine bottom bad bottom bad top right bad look at all this trash top right bad all right where we at guys where we
[00:54:27] at so far this is hard this is hard to this is hard to test if if I were to do this again I will chase them very boring like I will just chase behind them and I'll try to establish like an
[00:54:46] altitude and just like very boring just like chasing them around rather than doing all kinds of wacky [@$#%] so we've got 17 and 18 who is the third person Shane says nine first run 8
[00:55:04] second what's that mean oh oh oh okay so oh for God's sake 17 18 and 17 doesn't matter I mean that's not the biggest sample size we could keep going but like I I I think it's I think it's
[00:55:23] pretty pretty obvious that like it doesn't make it doesn't make enough of a difference like if I was willing to get all look if if I keep all right here it is if you don't if if you store your an
[00:55:42] your goggles with no antennas on them then if you go to something like this don't put an don't put antennas on them if you store I don't I store all of my goggles with the antennas on them but
[00:55:55] Loose and so for me I'm going to run the antennas Shane Hill says top right overall looks best I kind of agree but I'll do the test again next I I think I'm going to chase him tomorrow
[00:56:13] night I will Chase boring and that way we'll have a little bit of a better I I will trace the same path a lot better wny the hell did I why was I flying so hard when
[00:56:28] I was I I guess I thought it would be like super obvious so for me right like I store my goggles like this with the antennas on because I don't want to wear the smas out and so for me I
[00:56:42] would get there and then I would have to take unscrew both antennas and that's just kind of annoying so I'll do the test again if there's a little bit more definitive of
[00:56:54] a of a result maybe I'll start taking the antennas off but probably not so Joy of Joys it's all the same all right let me get caught up on chat here Shane Hill thank you again for
[00:57:12] the $10 Super Chat brother you're going to love those 0802 25,000 they are awesome for 75mm rigs you you'll probably end up taking them off of the Mobula 6 but they're they're a set
[00:57:26] Motors that have a home and that you'll be able to use a lot of times the mobul sixes that you get have worthless motors on them like the 08021 19000s and that's stupid but
[00:57:38] the 0802 25000 are a great motor if it comes with 702 26,000 those are great Motors too cries C says all have garbage but one antenna seems to have less he also says I'll count as long as oh right
[00:57:56] notice says yawni stream is better than a Yanni stream kiz Bartlett says the venue you fly at does it have Wi-Fi access it does indeed that's why I run all the way
[00:58:08] up on Channel 8 Race eight notice says I'll count but he was 10 minutes behind e duck in the house what's up homie he says can't get two other people with the same receiver and record the same
[00:58:19] feed with three DVRs I could but that introduces all kinds of other other stuff right like are is everybody's module on the same does everybody have rapid fire right that's the
[00:58:37] hardest one and then are all of the rapid fires on the same version is is one of them older and just falling apart is everybody on the same well inten is don't really matter as much I'd be
[00:58:51] most worried about where we were standing we would have to like really stand next to each other because as you space people out the bounces are going to travel differently and
[00:59:00] whatnot it's a super interesting idea that would allow us to perfectly sync up all three but it's does introduce some some stuff I don't know I don't know two other people
[00:59:17] with rapid fire I know one other person with rapid fire that's local so if I'm ever there with two other FPV pilots and are both on rapid fire I will absolutely do that cuz that
[00:59:30] would be cool to be able to perfectly sync them up and just have it run right across but these guys run the racetrack at the same speed over and over and over again so if I just stop
[00:59:43] Flying like an [@$#%] and just relax and just chase them for a lap or two I will almost certainly get one perfectly clean lap with them where they're not bouncing off the walls and then we can
[00:59:56] layer those on top of each other and that'll be a much better representation than this [@$#%] show but I find it super interesting that we did 17 or 18 and they all
[01:00:09] lined right up there that that's kind of wild so we'll see k b says it's not difficult at all I've been screaming out throughout this whole stream LOL what have you been
[01:00:20] screaming out throughout the whole stream kid I've I've only seen you post this one time I think Brad bondon said there was definitely some in between clicks some in between clicks that's
[01:00:30] okay the it's fine that they're in between because we're we're randomizing when when it is in between clicks there was random garbage on all three what I mean so it's in
[01:00:43] theory it evens out I stopped doing this I I would love to keep going and get the samples up to like 50 but I'm just bouncing off the goddamn walls I'm bouncing off the floor I'm all over the
[01:00:56] [@$#%] place and I just realized like this is stupid let me redo this where I I have a full lap with no crashes and then we can syn them up clad Hopper with a $5 Super Chat he says just because I
[01:01:08] haven't tsed you super chat you wor in a bit thank you brother very cool of you so we will revisit this but this is a good little like proof of concept I learned what I need to do better and
[01:01:21] having you guys count it is super helpful Curtis hay says there's an AI out there that cleans up analog really well but it costs it's gives it a weird kind of over smooth look though
[01:01:36] I'm not a huge fan of it mtio says why not do the test now on stream because I don't have a path that that I can repeat over and over and over again we are gonna do a quick test
[01:01:51] real quick as opposed to a quick test real slow I guess where I take the antenna off of the the the video receiver that feeds into the live stream that being the
[01:02:03] other problem which is that the the the vrx that feeds the live stream is only a single antenna but that actually might be good let's just do it let's let's let's dive in so I'm
[01:02:16] going to take does it make sense to use a rig that has a [@$#%] antenna or a good antenna we are what we're really both we'll do it with both we'll do it with both so this is the 16.4 G
[01:02:39] rig with the worst possible antenna it's a regular old whip antenna that I remove the ground plane from so this is going to be our bad example a bad antenna example and then we'll do
[01:02:55] the test with this guy that has the ort micro which is really good both on 25 Ms halfway through the battery I will pull the antenna off of the off of the vrx
[01:03:09] cool crappy antenna first maybe whichever one is has the right module in BR Bond says thinking my next build will be 232 3 and half inch arms 16 mm Motors on 4S thoughts that'll be
[01:03:26] cool that'll be great those 16 mm Motors are super nachy but apparently they fly completely fine I've seen a bunch of rigs that have HD and they don't have any jello with them so should be
[01:03:37] totally cool and they make assloads of power AJ far says can you recommend a good 103 for a 2-inch toothpick 2S unfortunately not AJ I I am not a toothpick guy anymore I haven't been for
[01:03:50] many years so I have no idea but what I will say this and this is probably the right answer get the highest kv1 that you can the if if I was doing that if I was building a 2-in
[01:04:04] toothpick 2S on 103s I would just scour the internet for the highest KV 103 and then that's the one that I would get most Motors are pretty similar to one another I don't know of anybody doing
[01:04:16] like lots of 2-in Toothpick testing that would be able to say like this 103 is more durable than the other ones quad 66 is the closest that you're you're going to find to that but I don't
[01:04:27] think he tests 103s I think he's tested I don't know check quad 66's Channel he's the only one that I know of that might have any head-to-head actual data on Motors of that size
[01:04:43] antenna's on first antenna on first on the vrx let's see if this is the right Els module yep it's the one cool antenna on first I'm going to go upstairs rip around come down here take the antenna
[01:05:03] off I have a feeling there's going to be a huge difference here for the record I'll do a couple quick laps down here so in the basement I'll bet there's not much of a
[01:05:16] difference little low lap here all right so two laps there I'm not seeing what you guys see I'm flying through Rapid Fire which looks awesome all the time in this house so now we're up
[01:05:29] here we're going to go and do a lap into the kitchen try to not hit Sage or Maggie or the dog low lap in here and then oh for Christ's sakes and then I might as well go up
[01:05:44] the stairs up the stairs slowly up on top all right and now I'm going to pull the antenna again I I literally can't see what you guys are seeing so I'm going to rely 100% on you to tell me what it looks
[01:06:08] like and now I'm taking the antenna all the way off all right receiver is in the exact same spot and here we go his Bartlett says so why do you believe it will be awesome
[01:06:24] when you did [@$#%] off what are you talking about kids and if that's you being a dick don't be a dick or I'll kick you off the whole [@$#%] Channel because there's just no
[01:06:38] reason to be a dick all right so there's your laps downstairs now we're going to go up and we're going to follow the same path here I did it up a little bit high the first time and then I did it low oh
[01:06:57] my God iselia why oh God why there we go low Teddy's going to eat us we're going to go up the stairs up the stairs stall here oh [@$#%] all right so that was the test with a shitty
[01:07:21] antenna well let me kill the rest of the battery all right cool this battery did not last very long all right there's that what' you guys see way worse there you go yep
[01:07:51] and I'm assuming that it got even worse as I went even higher upstairs right all right so now I'm going to use a rig with a good well hold on hold on let me just check let me check to make sure
[01:08:05] that this is on I'm sure it is but let's just for the sake of argument let's make sure that it's on 25 M and so that's going to come up and here we go features
[01:08:21] btx it's apparently on zero power that's not what we want oh I think the I think the there's a problem with the VTX table on this rig but even if it's higher than 25 M
[01:08:42] you guys are all saying that it was worse so I mean that's fine all right now let's test a good antenna and see if there's any difference upstairs is bad but downstairs is about the same that's I
[01:08:55] had a feeling all right here we go so this is no antenna first no antenna first and I have to change the module all right there we go features VTX the hell why are these all are the VTX
[01:09:31] tables [@$#%] up on all of these okay strange I got to look into that no antenna oh God it's in angle mode all right wow this feels so different Jesus all right quick spin around the
[01:09:51] basement and then we're GNA go up again this is no antenna so it should be bad when I go up here all right quick spin around here do a low pass here and then up the for [@$#%]
[01:10:15] sake oh boy Teddy's chasing me I can hear him oh God upstairs over here for a second even I got a little bit of even I'm getting a little bit of break up right
[01:10:28] now all right [@$#%] man these two fly completely different this is the one on the VCI Motors though so it makes sense okay and the antenna is going back on oh what I should have done
[01:10:49] is parked it upstairs and then take the antenna off and put put the antenna back on parked it all the way upstairs actually all right there we
[01:11:11] go come on all right good to go there we go Outside Inside up here High Pass low pass I think Teddy just fell off the couch oh my God he tried to cut me off what a jerk up the
[01:11:59] stairs chill here for a second and I'm assuming that was way better oh for God's sakes Jim oh [@$#%] come on there we go these VCI Motors feel way different oh what what
[01:12:28] somebody figured out somebody [@$#%] I forget who it was apparently the the thickness of the copper that makes up the windings of the VCI Motors is exactly the same from
[01:12:51] their low KV to their High KV which would explain why the high KV Motors are not very efficient oh [@$#%] oh wow I don't know how the hell that bounced off there and didn't
[01:13:10] crash oh [@$#%] denied can you oh for [@$#%] sake what am I flying like tonight this thing's got a bunch of Jello-O now too wonder if the motor shafts are getting bent wow no the the
[01:13:44] throttle feel [@$#%] is happening that was weird the throttle feels completely different with these motors oh wow that was kind of cool all right this one's done all right way
[01:14:06] better with the way better with the way better with the antenna on right right right right right right should be I'm assuming although it was probably less of a in theory
[01:14:29] there was less of a difference with this guy with the good antenna right could you could you guys notice that at all very cool all right so I will retest so okay so when you start to go through hardwood
[01:14:49] floor ceiling tiles vents [@$#%] right you got to have the antenna you got to have the antenna to pick up the signal the the signal getting weaker but then when I'm down here it's all bounces
[01:15:03] right so it's kind of situation dependent and that's what if if you're thinking about not running antennas you better be you better be in a scenario where there
[01:15:18] are more so a bando for example if you're standing inside the Bando if you're trying to fly through the bando through like concrete tunnels and [@$#%] behind concrete walls you're going to
[01:15:29] have to have antennas but if you're in a room and so I mean it's basically penetration versus versus versus bounces and it's kind of obvious but it's nice to test it
[01:15:47] right what I'm what I'm I I thought there would be more of a difference in the RC drift stuff but again the the the having me crashing all over the goddamn place doesn't help so we'll
[01:16:00] retest that and then I mean I could do some testing in the basement I guess like just running laps and then chopping them up but I don't know I don't know all right let
[01:16:17] me get caught up on chat all right where are we at here chronic nugget says I came across someone on Reddit claiming they could run the RC and Power 102 20,000 22,000 KV Motors on 2S with zero motor
[01:16:45] limit and the motors weren't even warm oh my God 30 amp LOL I mean I'm running them up at 70 or80 % and they're completely fine so that's not I'm not all that surprised by that
[01:17:02] 30 amp 30 amp draw is ridiculous though that's Jesus that's a lot KB says I'm not being a dick I've offered Flatout support throughout the night including helping the conversation
[01:17:16] of is using no antennas actually better what I what's happening kids are you high hold on I'm going to go all the way back to the beginning of the stream and okay so you tagged me once at 10:24
[01:17:45] you said so what was the context of not using antennas versus using antennas what does that mean what was the the context of not using antennas versus using it what was the
[01:18:04] context I can't figure out what what what what that means what was the context I was chasing RC drift cards it's pretty obvious isn't it is that what you mean what was the context I I
[01:18:15] have no idea what you're trying to ask me there oh that's right you said at our club we've been advising people to run no antennas for over a year love that I appreciate that man
[01:18:26] so you tagged me that one time I I wouldn't say that that was offering help the entire stream but I I I or two times rather I do appreciate that and then you said the
[01:18:41] venue you flight doesn't have Wi-Fi access I answered that and then that's when you said it's not difficult at all I've been screaming out throughout this whole stream I
[01:18:53] mean I wouldn't say tagging me three times s is screaming but everybody has different definitions for words that's okay no reason to be a dick though what I mean like there's
[01:19:04] just no reason to be a dick ever right like the one rule is just don't be a dick as as perfectly put by Will weaton so just don't be a dick there's just no reason for it and if you choose
[01:19:15] to be then you're not going to be around much longer which I I don't want that brother you've been around for a long time but just there's no reason to be a dick it's pretty straightforward
[01:19:26] all right Brad mon says low power till first arm maybe maybe it reads zero thank you that's exactly what it was thank you Brad [@$#%] a hold on let me let me confirm what power these
[01:19:43] were both on good call homie the power of the collective as always let's kick this on real quick and come on come on come on all right got it armed and now let's check it
[01:20:04] look at that oh no it still says zero there it goes well no then it goes back to zero I I think I might have a VTX table problem weird very weird
[01:20:30] all right that was a good thinking though Brad Jun loo says wait a minute can't you burn out the VTX by running no antennas yes June Loco VTX not
[01:20:46] vrx right big difference the video receiver is not pumping a bunch of power into into this guy it's probably still not great for it I don't know I don't
[01:21:05] know but totally different the the the the VTX vtx's need to have antennas plugged into them or they overheat and explode vrxs I've never heard that they need an antenna plugged into them
[01:21:24] I don't I'm not an electrical engineer so I don't I don't know if it'll it'll hurt him or not I didn't see enough of a difference to Warrant not running antennas so kind of is
[01:21:35] what it is Walter says you need a blunty nasty FPV says I was running no antennas on my H2S and the smas got really hot after 10 minutes interesting that's not a great I
[01:21:51] wouldn't think that that's a great sign I'm G to keep running antennasthat's it might be fine but it might also not be fine Curtis hay says receiver only no antenna needed
[01:22:09] walks snail DJI would be nice since they transmit as well as receive Brad Bond says but digital needs antennas on goggles though right hey I forgot to mention this this
[01:22:19] is all analog digital this is all out the window like digital does not work the same way as analog so on digital don't do this on digital run antennas everywhere and the best quality
[01:22:32] antennas that you possibly can this is just an analog thing hd0 I'm going to guess that this also applies to hd0 but I have very little I know very little about hd0 so that's totally
[01:22:53] a guess but hd0 is very similar to analog and that's why I'm guessing in that direction Curtis Hayes says hd0 is receive only right that's why it's similar to analog
[01:23:14] but I don't know if there's something weird about that Digital Signal like I would think it would be the same but like I said I just I don't know enough about hd0
[01:23:31] to weigh in there Brad bondon says H is hd0 really digital right it's hd0 is is a very confusing thing to me right it's digital but it's like digital not anything like any of
[01:23:51] the other digital sources I think the main difference is just that hd0 doesn't send and receive it just receives but again I just don't know enough about it to really jump down that Rabbit
[01:24:04] Hole let's see what WalkSnail is like in a million a million frames per second okay so this needs to go here and we need these and we need this and this might be the right
[01:24:39] module WalkSnail freestyle rig this is on WE bed 0702 40,000 KV Motors I haven't weighed this in a while let's see what it weighs star Stripes jacket says C does not need an
[01:24:54] antenna does not need antennas on the vrx I've done it plenty of times when being lazy isn't there a isn't there a built-in patch antenna on them though no no there's not no there's not
[01:25:10] no no I'm thinking of the goggles X this guy is 25.4 gr 25.3 gr 25 and a half and dry so here we go Curtis hay says hd0 doesn't resend missed
[01:25:34] pixels I never thought about that that's that that's the the value of the receive and transmit is that they can talk to each other and say I didn't get any pixels here what are you doing
[01:25:52] send it again did these goggles just not power up what the hell oh oh no that was weird okay we good all right so let's see what this race mode shit's all
[01:26:17] about stars and STP jacket says same with hd0 goggles Curtis Hayes says that's why DJI and walks Nill are more pretty they say VTX send more data two-way communication yep Cole power says the OG
[01:26:34] fat Shar hd0 vrx has built in Ah that's what I'm thinking about yes thank you Cole Brad M says from goggle hd0 is a digital wireless video transceiver VTX technology trans transmits
[01:26:45] uncompressed video streams Steve Jobs says isn't 25 grams kind of heavy not for a WalkSnail rig not for a rig that Records in in 10860 what I
[01:26:59] mean okay this is as light as I've been able to get it although I would kind of like to build one of the swap the frame out to the light AF frame that'll save me a little bit of weight
[01:27:12] but other than that this is about as light as it's ever going to get so all right let's see if WalkSnail will pop up here all right let's see what this is all about low RF power what the hell what
[01:27:35] why what I've never seen that message before Oh [@$#%] this is the wrong module low RF power what all right here we go come on come ons you can do it you can do it express lrs hold on let
[01:28:08] me power cycle it oh no there it is what is this oh okay all right it didn't it didn't have a connection so hold on let me see what I don't remember where I left it so
[01:28:27] we're on channel 7 great settings so we are on standard frame rate standard bit rate 720p and we're showing like 31 32 milliseconds I'm going to move the frame rate up to
[01:28:42] high and now it drops down to 21 2021 wow what a difference let me just out of curiosity what happens when I kick the resolution up the frame rate goes to standard so
[01:29:00] and now look at the oh there it goes 33 34 and it doesn't give me the option option to change it to high okay so all right it only gives you that low latency in 720 that makes sense unless something
[01:29:17] changes when I change the bit rate let's try that just to see I doubt it but this is why we test what happened I lost video all together oh Christ VTX is overheating
[01:29:35] let me get the thing fired up to get some wind what the hell happened here the the goggles have [@$#%] their pants when I changed the bit rate up to High let me get out of the menu oh
[01:29:50] there we go 33 34 milliseconds so I'm assuming assuming it's that was weird man oh it was because it was getting too hot of course so high bit rate 1080 frame rate stuck in standard let's go
[01:30:04] resolution 720 and then I'm assuming it'll allow me to go up to high frame rate all right there we go and then the latency is oh look at that look at the difference oh no there it goes now it
[01:30:21] comes down to 2120 cool so it looks like I need to change choose a channel now let's go here 23 24 23 24 interesting let's leave it in
[01:30:41] 50 and now I want to just kind of look at that latency number once I'm a little bit wow that battery is dead already Jesus Christ 24 25 milliseconds out in the hallway there
[01:30:58] how the hell did this entire battery get eaten up already it's not browning out though that's kind of nice I'm doing Full Throttle blast and it's not browning out oh boy Jesus
[01:31:16] easy oh okay okay let's get a fresh battery on here I'm going to leave it in 50 because it's giv me that lower latency and we're going to take a look we're not take a look we're
[01:31:36] going to fly hard and see if it's any kind of easier and then what I'll do is I'll go to the the standard frame rate and I'm hoping that I start flying a lot worse basically
[01:31:55] I don't see how a difference like a 30% change in latency won't mean won't make a massive difference though all right come on now flip that image upside down fella whenever you're ready wait is the
[01:32:18] rig upside down the rig is upside down okay there we go let's fly hard man after having flown well the the weight the weight that this thing is at is going to feel like and perform
[01:32:43] like extra latency too so come on I was about to make a comparison to the analog rigs I was just just flying and I was going to say ah this it still does feel like there's a
[01:32:56] lot more latency but then I realized the the weight's going to make a big difference so that's tough but so we just need to wait I just I need to fly a couple of batteries
[01:33:11] here get dialed in and then switch to the higher frame rate like I said earlier though it doesn't really matter like if can tell the difference there's no reason to not
[01:33:26] run this at oh actually no that's not true the reason to potentially not run it on the high bit rate is that you want to fly in 1080 so this actually is a really good
[01:33:40] test all right but Jesus I I will oh no please no every day of the week I will take you [@$#%] I will take 20 seconds 20 milliseconds of latency you [@$#%] come
[01:34:07] on why Jesus Christ I will always take 720p at 21 milliseconds versus 1080 at whatever the hell the other one was what I'm saying all
[01:34:36] right put a couple more through it and then we'll change the frame rate BR B says isn't the update to be able to run 100 frames per second at 1080 I think you can do that on the
[01:34:53] goggles X I do not have the goggles X though but I'm pretty sure what you're mentioning there is a goggles X thing but like youo this looks so good in 720 like I don't know man I I I
[01:35:09] don't I don't really need 1080 I guess if I was flying something big with WalkSnail something big and fast 1080 would be would be kind of nice o there there's moments when I'm flying
[01:35:34] this that like ah I think I can feel the I think I'm I can notice that oh my [@$#%] god the extra latency all right back at it don't freak out I'll tell you what man these 702
[01:36:17] 40,000 on this heavy rig do a hell of a job don't mind the run times a lot of these batteries that I've got here that I'm running are pretty wrecked I was very hard on this last round of
[01:36:36] batteries that I bought in terms of like over discharging them and so these are all the crap batteries I have a whole bunch of very fresh BetaFPV
[01:36:51] lavas that I do not have the heat sink on the VTX that's why it overheats so fast that I use at the RC drifts car place and they are I I just I've been much nicer to them and boy they
[01:37:04] are so much better eventually I'll hit Jesus eventually I'll hit a battery here where we get like almost 2 minutes and that's a that's a battery that I haven't destroyed W [@$#%] oh God that was a nice little
[01:37:29] save oh [@$#%] so that right there was actually crash recovery freaking out a little bit and causing that crash to happen as we've tested in the past though crash recovery on is Magic and it
[01:37:47] prevents way more crashes than it causes so definitely run crash recovery on your tiny whoops in my opinion Jesus I can't hit the mega power Loop to save my life
[01:38:05] tonight oh man I didn't get the I didn't even come close on the height there oh boy oh my God come on [@$#%] oh [@$#%] why you got to do me chair minute and 28 there you go there's
[01:38:48] a the not totally wrecked battery Steve Steve pav make sure you type at CiottiFPV I just happened to see my name but it didn't light up an orange because you didn't get the FPV in
[01:39:02] there for the future jbo 888 says I thought you mentioned the crappy antenna was still pretty good and worth stripping down totally I mean what else are you going to do
[01:39:20] with all your with all your whip antennas right it's totally fine for like in the house stuff and whatever but technically speaking it is the worst antenna that I've got you
[01:39:32] know what I mean Steve Jobs says I got my 35 millimeter HD zero build down to 25 grams dry with 0702 45,000 40,000 45,000 right and by blades had to make the by blades though
[01:39:50] very cool that's pretty light all here go last one and then I'm going to kick to the higher I'm going to kick to the higher frame rate oh you [@$#%] what I'll also do is I'll go into 1080
[01:40:18] there's such a difference in in throw with these heavy ass rigs oh you [@$#%] oh come on now get under there don't you dare make me walk over there and get you thank
[01:40:51] you oh wow look at it struggling low light it does a really it's really dark up here there are no lights on right now there are no lights on in this house right now other than this wacky
[01:41:05] one and then these underc counter lights it is like dark dark up here right now WalkSnail actually does a shockingly good job in low light but it gets really no I mean the reason why
[01:41:21] it does such a good job is because of how noisy it gets it pushes the iso to the [@$#%] Moon ISO is the sensitivity of the of the sensor o see what I said about me being mean to
[01:41:36] batteries I was mean to that one okay so now we're going to go to oh what it is that standby RF power message must be new in this new firmware that's why I'm
[01:41:52] I'm like weirded at by cuz I literally have not seen it before cuz it wasn't in the old firmware but it goes away as soon as I arm it so and that's why you wire up your HD stuff to RX and
[01:42:05] TX because when it arms it kicks it into high power mode so I'm going to go in here and I'm going to switch it to 1080 and that's going to bring the frame
[01:42:20] rate to standard which is 60 frames a second and then you'll notice the the latency numbers will now be up in the 30s 34 35 35 34 all right so now we're in 1080 maybe it looks a little bit better
[01:42:43] maybe I don't know I feel a small dog there he is all right so oh yeah okay yep yep I could tell that's for that's yep yep yep hold on though this battery
[01:43:15] is this is a [@$#%] battery that's going to go in the garbage can in a minute you you you can absolutely tell it's just there's just more latency it this is so the one thing I've
[01:43:34] said a whole bunch of times about these WalkSnail rigs inside the house is that I feel like I hit stuff I I feel like I hear the rig hit stuff and do things before I see it
[01:43:50] which I'm sure there's a bunch of placebo with that but still like there there's just there's this weird feeling that the rig is in front of what I can
[01:44:02] see but you can just feel in every every input every stick input it just feels delayed I I don't know how else to explain it it's for sure there though damn so that
[01:44:17] that is that is there that is there I would like to blind test this though to be honest next time I have a next time I have somebody over here I want to have them
[01:44:35] change the I want to have them change it change the frame rate on me and not tell me but I am pretty goddamn sure that I can feel the difference here let me do one
[01:44:50] more one more with it here and then I'll switch it back to high frame rate and we'll see Brad M says I'm confused hasn't it always been hasn't it always been 120 frames at
[01:45:10] 720 and 60 at 1080 so you can go to High nope it's been it's been 30 or 60 across the board and now with the new firmware it's 160 100 high 60 standard I was on like year old firmware
[01:45:41] though so oh man this battery is [@$#%] the bed as well man both of these batteries need to go in the goddamn dumpster oh [@$#%] this is hard to fly with this latency it's hard to
[01:46:02] fly cuz it's heavy and then it's even harder to fly because of the latency so it you really start to like you really notice it oh come on you son of a [@$#%]
[01:46:26] right battery's done all right one more and we're going to switch the frame rate this is the last battery okay here we go hopefully this is a half decent battery I should not
[01:46:43] have I should not have waited until the very last battery this was silly oh right I got to wait for it to connect hold on come on come on come on on listen to it on the desk freaking the
[01:47:03] [@$#%] out all right frame rate high there we go okay I can I for sure I definitely want a blind test this because just because but this is this is
[01:47:44] noticeable as well it should be right like 20 20 to 24 milliseconds 30 to 34 right it's a massive difference oh my goodness there's just there's a much more defined
[01:48:07] connection between my fingers and my eyeballs right now it's just feels way more like right that's like the least descriptive word ever but I I think you guys know
[01:48:23] exactly what I'm saying what I mean when I say that but like I move the sticks and then I'm being like super stick bangy to really bring this out but like I move the sticks and then something
[01:48:38] happens it's not like I move the sticks and then the quad reacts and then something happens which is what it felt like on the higher latency any OG people you've flown on
[01:48:52] high latency stuff and so you probably know exactly what I mean what the [@$#%] what the [@$#%] is this what how is it I see I see I see it was me there you have it my friends update
[01:49:25] your WalkSnail that that's I'm pretty sure I again we're gonna we're going to blind test this but I am 99% sure that that is a noticeable difference I'd be interested to fly like
[01:49:44] five batteries hard and count the number of crashes but I'm a I'm flying like a [@$#%] tonight so tonight would not be a great night to do that and I don't have any batteries left
[01:49:57] so man if you're going to fly a that look that makes WalkSnail much much more flyable inside the house I'd previously said that like it's and I still think this
[01:50:15] especially because of the runtime but I'd previously said like look if you want to really rip inside the house it's just there's no option you have to go analog this closes that gap for
[01:50:28] sure I still think you do need to go analog because there's there's still a big difference especially with weight also latency weight's the big thing but damn that's
[01:50:45] that's pretty dope I and it's free to update so update your [@$#%] friends I mixed those batteries back in like an idiot like a true donkey all right let me get caught up in
[01:51:02] the chat and then we're going to shut this mother down oxar says 3.5 volts I run until 3.3 is that okay too it depends the it depends on how long you want your batteries to last if you if you
[01:51:23] bring it in at 3.5 your batteries are going to last significantly longer tiny whoop batteries are pretty are pretty they have a pretty short lifespan anyway so it doesn't really matter this
[01:51:41] is what I like though I I like for my batteries to bounce back to storage voltage so that's why I come in at around 3.5 also with these walk nail rigs the VTX will will Brown out so I
[01:51:57] bring the WalkSnail rigs back a little bit earlier so that the the VTX doesn't shut off mid-flight and reset this battery I did not run down high enough or this is one of the [@$#%] batteries
[01:52:08] that has really high internal resistance I bet you that's the case but I like for my batteries to bounce back up after they've been sitting for a couple minutes to like 3.7 or 3.8 this
[01:52:20] battery is suspect so I'm going to put it over here here 3.77 3.80 this might be bad one batteries with a really high internal resistance they'll ah no this is a bad
[01:52:37] one 3.9 is way too high batteries with really high internal resistance when you're flying them they will sag down really low 3.8 and it's probably sort of okay and then when you when you let them sit
[01:52:55] like this the voltage will bounce way the hell back up 386 is probably another bad one and then 37 that that's more what I want to see is them bounce back to 3.7 I've been trying to be nicer to the
[01:53:12] batteries now because I I had a weird run of like really over discharging these but the big reason that I come back with the that tonight I was coming back exactly like at 3.5 is that when
[01:53:23] you go much lower the it'll Brown out although what's super interesting is of these two builds these are the two 65 WalkSnail builds this one Browns the VTX out like
[01:53:37] crazy this one kind of doesn't like we didn't see any like even light browning out tonight so I think maybe this is a newer generation of the VTX this VTX and this thing like if I do a full
[01:53:51] throttle blip at 3.5 volts it's gone you you lose video so I could probably push the batteries through this one a little bit farther to take that minutes and minute and 30 to minute and
[01:54:04] 40 minute 50 but I don't know bradm says can you read my comment right above my last isn't the update to be able to run frames per second at 1080 we talked about that and then I'm confused we
[01:54:26] talked about that so I think we're good Brad if not tag me again Curtis a says 2g4 is soldered to my antl camera plug-in power video scan on goggles show stronger signal on Race 2 lower signal
[01:54:38] on two adj bands no matter which I select I get scrolling video set set the rig onto whatever race eight and then set the goggles to race eight and then see what happens Brad says
[01:55:04] is it just that the goggles can't go that high because everything I'm seeing online says 120 at 720 no it's goggles X versus old school I have the old school WalkSnail goggles goggles X have
[01:55:17] higher performance options sword Stripes jacket says in a blind test you definitely know what frame what frame rate it's in if you're doing quick moves if you're just a cruiser around you
[01:55:28] might not notice very true very very true bradm says Oscar leang page says V1 goggles can do 90 at 1080 huh it doesn't so I I guess what that means is that the
[01:55:49] standard the standard frame rate cuz it Doesn't give me the option for high frame rate right so I guess what that means is that standard frame rate is 90 frames a second and then High frame rate
[01:56:01] is 120 and then DVR records at 1080 60 so cool I I mean it's the actual numbers don't matter as much as they there specific just always run it as high as you possibly
[01:56:19] can if you want 1080 you're not going to get that higher frame rate if you run 720 you can get that higher frame rate and less latency off axis says what's it going to take to get you to come to
[01:56:30] British Columbia Canada mid September for the freestyle micro event I am hosting an airline ticket and no gigs here in Atlanta basically these two family family vacations
[01:56:46] mangled Maggie and I so it's the rest of the year is going to going to be Ramen and fruit snacks for me so I I there's no way there's no chance I can I can afford to fly up there
[01:57:01] brother sorry and midt July August September that's still that's still when I get booked for quite a bit of gigs so it's tough later on in the year I I can plan stuff out and be
[01:57:24] cool with it but the biggest problem would be it's just it's expensive to travel sorry dude Brandon M Brad Mond says love you brother good night I'm out of here as well thanks
[01:57:33] for hanging friends thanks for helping me with the testing we learned a little something maybe but I do need to redo this which should be cool save changes no don't save changes cool be
[01:57:49] good friends I'll see you Friday at 7 o'cl Eastern Time here's some more chasing drift cars let's do HD zero footage though this time here's some
[01:58:07] stuff look at this guy this guy in slow motion chase him in oh wait no I just have this set to slow motion don't I I do H it looks better in slow motion love you bye later
[01:58:20] friends cv.com support me a n a
