[00:00:34] hey heyyyy friends my why did I keep going my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me Ciotti welcome to farting around Friday I don't have like a super fancy thing
[00:02:35] planned for today but I got a bunch of little stuff that's been just kind of sitting here being a pain in the ass so we will do do it that do that do we'll do some of that stuff and you know
[00:02:45] it'll be great it'll be terrific Q&A of course as always I'm taking some some propellers off of a set of 0702 36,000 KV Motors right now thus the green these are I I think these are
[00:03:06] my favorite whoop Motors at the moment these are the ah I forgot the fancy little name on these but tiny whoop 0702 36,000 the Weeble 40,000 are hysterical but woo boy at that's a
[00:03:23] lot of RPM and you most people are going to have to end up motor limiting motor limiting them down most people are going to need to motor limit these down 36,000 KV is a ton of RPM and a ton of
[00:03:41] power so the 40,000 are hysterical and I think like if you've got an extra 40 bucks you should snag a set just for the lol's for the I'm not supposed to say lol's
[00:04:00] that's an old person thing to do I think I don't know I I try to pay attention when the kids talk it's hard though they say words like skibby and and Riz and it makes me want to jump off a goddamn
[00:04:21] building what in the brain rot is happening yo was it like this when when we were teenagers it couldn't possibly have been it couldn't have possibly been this bad I am taking the VCI 0702
[00:04:43] 29000 off I put a bunch of batteries through them I think what happened and this is just this is just a guess but I think what happened is that they didn't change the the thickness
[00:04:57] of the winding material when they went up in KV they they make their 0702 in two different KVs and these 29,000 make okay power but they the the efficiency is the real issue here and
[00:05:16] and that's kind of a dead giveaway if if a manufacturer has we've been talking about this with BetaFPV I I have a sneaking suspicion they maybe did the same thing what's also
[00:05:29] interesting is that the VCI Motors are are pretty much the exact same height as the BetaFPV Motors so I don't know maybe they're made at the exact same place again this is just guessing there's
[00:05:41] no way to get any actual information on any of this stuff so we have to just make guesses I could be totally wrong but this is just it's seems to be a very similar scenario
[00:05:54] between the two of them where the the uh I have not tested the lower KV VCI motor though I have tested the lower KV BetaFPV motor and it is definitely quite a bit more efficient and
[00:06:10] it doesn't really seem to have much less power and that that's kind of the Dead Giveaway there if the lower KV motor the the the higher KV motor should have significantly more power
[00:06:22] it's going to have more RPM but once you put a propeller on these things where' that screw go once you put a propeller on them it's not all about RPM it's not all about KV the amount
[00:06:41] of torque the amount of power I I I don't use the word torque because when when I say torque to you anybody that has any experience with cars has a preconceived notion of what torque is in the car
[00:06:56] World gasoline engines are very different than electric motors gasoline engines produce more torque down low to my knowledge electric motors don't necessarily do that they kind of make the
[00:07:10] same torque all through the the Rev band although I've never really looked into that but gasoline engines are are different than electric motors go figure one of them Burns Dinosaurs the
[00:07:20] other one just uses electrons so I just use the word power because it works like how much power a motor has is going to designate how hard it can push the how hard it can push the
[00:07:37] the propeller around right if you want to call that torque great but I'm not going to do that in front of 500 to a th000 people per live stream because I know a bunch of you
[00:07:48] are car nerds like me and it's just super confusing to for the longest time for me in this hobby I thought of torque in the same way I I thought Torque from like a car standpoint like oh
[00:08:01] the so there's that and so yeah right now what I'm doing below very carefully below the camera is screwing on a set of prototype Motors that were very kindly sent to me that
[00:08:19] we're going to test tonight and I guess that's sort of the main thing that we're doing but I I I didn't want to I can't take a picture of them because then you would know what they are
[00:08:29] and I don't necessarily want to be talking all about them in the title of the stream so we're going to do that I I I figure I'm not screw I'm not messing any you have no idea who they're
[00:08:42] made by you have no idea what size they are you have no idea what KV they are so I'm not telling you anything you're just going to get to see them fly and then between prototype and final
[00:08:52] version some shit's going to change so they're not even going to fly the same but I thought it might be cool for you guys to kind of see what goes through my head when I'm kind of flying
[00:09:02] a prototype motor trying to think of some valid feedback to provide it's no different than when I try any other motor though what's the power like what's the runtime is it well balanced
[00:09:14] what can I do with the tune what I typically do is I don't change I put them onto a rig that I'm familiar with usually I have like one rig that's kind of like my test bed rig right it
[00:09:28] gets Parts changed on a lot it's tuned to you know it's tuned pretty aggressively but not like at the limit mainly because it's going to get a bunch of different parts thrown at it
[00:09:43] and so what I like to do is not change the tune at all whatever the tune was on the previous Motors let's see if this can handle the same tune um and that's going to start to clue me in on how
[00:09:56] balanced the motors are or aren't also with these tiny whoops like I've just run so many of them that I have a really good feel for how hard I can push the tune and if if all of a sudden I can only
[00:10:09] push the sliders over to like 1.2 with a given set of Motors that's a set of Motors that's not really all that well balanced and so we I I tend to learn a lot of stuff pretty quickly just
[00:10:22] because I've done this 110 billion times lucky me but so that's sort of a bit of my test methodology sorry that's the reaction that I have when stupid corporate jargon is used
[00:10:40] it's vomiting because it's a vomity thing to do that's a great would that be a verb vomity vomity would be a that's my new favorite verb verbs eluded him that's a quote from something
[00:10:59] I don't know what that's a quote from so that's the plan for tonight and then like I got some random [@$#%] that I want to do I found a fresh set of I knew I had a fresh set of
[00:11:12] these floating around whoever offered to send me a set of these that they had sitting around thank you but I as I said on the live stream when they offered I was like I I know I have a
[00:11:21] fresh set of these I was thinking about buying a fresh set but I I had a feeling there was a set floating around I have an absolutely brand new set of HappyModel SE 0802 25,000 KV
[00:11:29] Motors that I'm going to put onto a Mobula 7 V4 frame and we're going to try these out on a jungle gym Basher setup right now this frame has a set of ow old school ow in the blue color
[00:11:45] the very first run 0802 27,000 KV Motors I have another frame with the newer set of these in the purple color so there's no reason to have two frames with these so I'm going to pull these
[00:12:01] off I'm going to hang on to these because they're magical and in this blue like these igon motors will never come in these blue colors again so I'll replace these with the happy
[00:12:11] model 0802 2000s and then we can see if there's any like so the the deal with the the old school two-piece Bell HappyModel 0802 25000 is a lot of Pilots that know their [@$#%] have
[00:12:27] kind of always said that those Motors are like unicorns and they seem to make a little bit more power than they should more recently butterfly FPV has been tearing Motors up you should
[00:12:39] go subscribe to his channel great great great great great Channel he's been pulling Motors apart and micrometering the thickness of the of the winding material and also taking a look at
[00:12:53] how many wies there are per stator pole and we're starting to get some really good data and when he tested a set of those he found that the thickness of the winding material the winding material is
[00:13:07] very thick on those so there's going to be a lot of copper in the in the windings which is a good thing and could explain why people have always said that those Motors make more power
[00:13:18] than they kind of should so I'm super interested to try them on the jungle gy Basher because that's really the rig where an 0802 25 to 27,000 KV motor is kind of the best that
[00:13:29] I've found the jungle I was going to do this today but it's been raining all goddamn day uh so we're going to have to wait but I'll hopefully do it tomorrow while aelia is in uh
[00:13:44] one of her last unfortunately guitar lessons no I guess she's got another week she decided to not keep going with guitar lessons but that's okay man you got to try different
[00:13:58] [@$#%] to find the thing that you absolutely love the most she's got a cool looking guitar that I got her for Christmas that'll look awesome on her wall and it was a fender Squire so it
[00:14:05] didn't cost a ton of money it's all good maybe someday she'll pick it back up it's cool too if not that's fine so there's that which is cool I am so I'm putting these by blades onto these
[00:14:20] motors and they're just like falling right onto the motor shaft so think these motor shafts might be ever so slightly undersized maybe they're 99 millimeters instead of 1 mm so what I'm
[00:14:36] doing is the trick that I've shown you guys a million times but I'll show you another million times I'm sure you take your least favorite sharp tipped tweezers you put it into the propeller
[00:14:46] at a 45° angle and then you scrape it around so you've got the hole in the in the propeller you take the the the sharp tipped tweezer and you scre scrape and when you scrape the plastic inside
[00:14:58] of there you leave an indentation but then look at my Knuckles see how my knuckles go up so you're actually creating two runs that are a little bit tighter you're you're digging in and that's making
[00:15:09] the situation worse but then you're lifting the plastic up on either side of it and that makes the prop a little bit tighter on the motor shaft you do that on both the top and the bottom try
[00:15:20] really hard not to stab yourself cuz it hurts like hell when you're do when you're doing it so make sure you really get it in there at like a good angle and just scrape it around and now this
[00:15:29] propeller will work really really well for five to 10 more put it on take it off of motorcycles motorcycles what I mean and then eventually you will have to do it again but this
[00:15:46] is like the easiest and best method to get these props to be son of a [@$#%] I haven't stabbed myself in a while but I just did I told you I told you it hurts sometimes it bleeds didn't see
[00:15:59] doesn't seem to be bleeding this time but be careful make sure you get it in there at at you'll see what I mean once you start doing it and now when I push the and the other thing it does is
[00:16:08] it it's makes the propeller fit perfectly on the motor shaft where it's not too tight it's not too loose that's kind of one of my favorite things about this like I at one point I was almost
[00:16:21] tempted to just drill out all of my all of my propellers so that they were ever so slightly too big and then just sit here for a couple hours and do this to all the props but that's insane
[00:16:33] because the the GemFan 1210s are usually damn near perfect right out of the box right out of the bag I should say so you don't typically need to do this on those but what happens is after
[00:16:43] you've taken the propellers on and put taken them on and off the the holes in them seem to open up a little bit So eventually you kind of have to do this to all propellers or or just throw
[00:16:54] them away and buy new ones because they're really cheap and you're supporting GemFan and or HQ if you want buy blades you should get the GemFan by blades the HQ by blades are not
[00:17:07] opened on the top and you will not be able to get them all the way down in the motor shaft and then they will bend your motor shaft which sucks make sure that you use your least favorite
[00:17:17] set of sharp tipped tweezers because it is going to bend the tip of the the tweezers a little bit after you've done a whole bunch of these so it's going to basically ruin the tips of your
[00:17:28] tweezers so get a shitty set off Amazon or you probably have a shitty set floating around and then like I said just just be careful because when you stab yourself it hurts like [@$#%] um
[00:17:38] but that's all there is to it just run it around in there and then it'll fit perfectly on your murders let's hook this thing up to BetaFlight real quick get these spinning in the right
[00:17:53] direction and then it'll be good to go but first Douglas otwell notice not applicable Bob Bruce cbpv Mick mucus Northern Tier Walter V vanord crom rockcrawler Zoe 101 June Loco tongue

[00:19:19] way through it's when when a when a line gets get super popular from a movie I don't find it necessary to see the movie anybody else anybody know what
[00:19:33] I mean like like Titanic I haven't seen it and I'm not going to see it because like I've seen enough stupid little clips of it that I know what it's about and I'm not that much
[00:19:52] of a Leonardo DiCaprio I don't know if I'm a Leonardo DiCaprio fan at all Leo what's up Leo you jerk I don't know I have a whole bunch of affiliate links over on my website as well use those replace your bookmarks
[00:20:06] with them it's free if you don't you're a jerk insult your audience that's how it's done that's the secret of live streaming my friends I I've never talked about it before
[00:20:21] but you caught me the secret to success on YouTube is just to insult everyone treat everyone that that watches you like complete [@$#%] and they'll feel like they're
[00:20:34] growing up again in the 80s it's not true I mean some people will luckily I had an Incredible family that did not make me feel horrible growing up I made myself feel horrible
[00:20:47] because I grew up with crippling mental illness my brain chemistry took care of that for me H we Laugh to Keep from Crying all rightwe're in we're in BetaFlight and we're
[00:21:09] going to get the motor spinning their correct direction here we go motor one is correct I'm going uh props in on this by the way motor two incorrect click it to reverse it motor
[00:21:21] 3 incorrect click it to reverse it that means motor 4 is going to be correct oh [@$#%] motor 4 is incorrect now it's correct in in in and in beautiful
[00:21:39] stop Motors close and let's do a quick RPM test here 70 65 65 I saw 68 but then it went down to 65 let me try motor 1 again H 65 okay I think the mo the the battery was just completely fresh on
[00:22:04] that first little hit that I gave it so these are high KV Motors those are high KV numbers so that's good that's exactly what I would expect I think although I don't know I I shouldn't
[00:22:18] say that I I their High KV Motors those were those were high RPMs that is a loaded that is simulating like a loaded test stand where I'm holding the quad so it's having to pull all the
[00:22:36] air in and so those numbers like 65,000 is RPM that's typically what I see on a high KV motor when I'm holding the quad once you get it up into the air so micromotor test Labs I
[00:22:52] don't know if you guys remember but Ethan from micromotor test labs he's still doing motor testing behind the scenes and one of the reasons many many years ago that we didn't go beyond uh
[00:23:04] like 25 26 28,000 KV is that on the test stand in a loaded environment where the motor and the prop are solid when especially with 72s they didn't make any more thrust when you went north of 25,000
[00:23:23] 26,000 28,000 and so why would we wind them for 30,000 32 36 40 and then at some point somebody I actually tested a set that was pretty high in KV and I swore that I didn't feel a difference
[00:23:41] this is back in the 802 days but some of the racing Pilots did notice a difference and Jesse started Jesse from Tiny whoop started winding Motors up to 28 and 30 and 32 and thank God he
[00:23:53] did because what we realized is that once you have them in the air and do this with another rig just so I don't accidentally show you what these motors not that you'd be able to see but when so
[00:24:05] like what I'm doing what I'm doing just now is I'm holding this thing and I'm just cranking the uh cranking each motor up to full bang so what this has to do is pull all this air in here that's
[00:24:16] static not moving and it's got to fire it out the bottom and that's really hard and that's not what happens in the actual air it happens for a split second when you're hovering and you
[00:24:29] Hammer the throttle for a split second it has to do that same amount of work but then it starts moving and when it's moving it's traveling into air faster and faster and faster and faster so you
[00:24:42] go Full Throttle for a quarter of a second for an absolute instant it's a test stand but then as it accelerates and it accelerates fast as hell right because these things are super lightweight and it
[00:24:55] it's going to get 10 m hour 20 mph 30 m an hour of incoming air as it Rockets through the air and so that's called unloaded loaded versus unloaded this is loaded this is unloaded and we can
[00:25:09] not rely on the test stand results we we shouldn't rely completely on the test stand results because when we're flying for real we've got all that incoming air and that's where that's super
[00:25:23] important kind of realize because if you just look at thrust stand data it's not telling the whole story I'm surprised nobody talks about this more with bigger than tiny whoop Motors I feel
[00:25:37] like only tiny whoop people talk about this maybe that's because with how small these propellers are we this is the least efficient prop size and so it's going to be the most affected by
[00:25:53] this stuff also we're trying to use tiny little 1S batteries and y y I mean we're we're only we're not pulling very hard on the batteries so it's fine that it's 1S but I think you see where I'm
[00:26:04] going here right so it's always blown me away that that we don't talk about that stuff with like 5 in or even 3in Motors and props but here's the Easy Button even though it doesn't get
[00:26:19] discussed when you're looking at thrust sand data comparing a bunch of different Motors if so where I really thought about this was with the ax 2305 a halfs right very small motor all all things
[00:26:33] considered for a 5in rig 2305 A2 versus something like a 2207 big difference in Stater volume and then and so you look at the thrust stand data and that like the 227s just murder they they just
[00:26:50] destroy 236s and definitely 2305 and a halfs and so you could think like oh I I have to go with a 2207 but again that's a loaded thrust stand once the 2305 and a halfs are up in the air but also
[00:27:05] once the 227s are up in the air they're going to accelerate through the air harder so they're going to kind of like make more power than they do on the thrust stand so in my mind and I don't know
[00:27:15] if this is debt on the money but like basically I I take like like if I'm looking at numbers from like a 2207 and a 2305 A2 and there's this much of a gap between them in my mind I think I I just
[00:27:30] think like well that's in a loaded environment in an unloaded environment it's going to be like this in terms of like the difference between them especially if you start looking at higher
[00:27:39] KV like if you've got the same 2306 so if you've got like a 1600 KV and then like a 1900 KV 2306 no hold on hold on hold on if you've got three different KVs of motor 1,600 18800 2000 and
[00:27:57] you see let me do this backwards for you guys backwards for me right side for you guys 1,600 KV it makes a certain amount of power 1 1800 KV it makes a little bit more power 2,000 KV it doesn't
[00:28:12] make much extra power that is on a loaded thrust stand once those Motors are up in the air unloaded there is going to be a bigger difference between those those between those KVs see what I'm see
[00:28:27] what I'm getting at here the the 2000 KV motor in this little thought experiment we're going through on a loaded test stand it's just it's too high of a KV for a loaded test stand I
[00:28:41] don't fly my rigs tied to the ground right so in that so when we and that's something that does start to happen with the one of the reasons that we've gone towards 220 sevens is that we can crank
[00:28:56] the the KV up higher and they do better at those higher KVs basically what we see is that 236s 2305 and a halfs 2305 like the smaller than 2207 Motors when the KV goes up they don't
[00:29:12] perform as well but that's only on a loaded in a loaded scenario once they're up in the air it's going to be a lot easier on those smaller Motors so maybe you don't need that big ass 2207 that
[00:29:25] does really really really well on the thrust stand don't get me don't get me wrong thrust stand data is amazing and it's super important but it is not the scenario that any of these things fly in right
[00:29:37] catch my drift what I what about like a cop though but you're not you're not running a cine whoop at Full Throttle no I mean the offical efficiency testing a lot of times when roster does
[00:30:01] efficiency testing he'll pick like a he'll pick like 35% throttle and so that's going to be super that's going to be super accurate although with a c whoop they're traveling through the air no
[00:30:18] no that's super accurate they're traveling through the air but that the air that they're traveling into is stacked so they have to take that not moving air and do all that work to to
[00:30:29] get it moving and fired out the bottom so the efficiency testing is dead on the money but the Full Throttle testing be careful especially when you're looking at the higher RPMs and
[00:30:40] just understand that a motor and propeller that are bolted down to something versus hauling through the air at 4050 60 70 80 M hour because that's what happens when you go
[00:30:52] Full Throttle right you go full throttle and damn instantly these things are booking it and that is now not a representative environment what what we would need is some sort of a Wind Tunnel right
[00:31:06] and there's probably a way of doing it you could probably just hook two esc's up to the test stand and then just put one like air wind speed slows down very quickly and so the the confusing
[00:31:21] part about building like a winds T tunnel to simul at a loaded environment is that like how do you speed what speed do you put that incoming Air at but with how quickly air speed kind of
[00:31:34] slows down I don't even think you would have to stagger the RPM I think you would be able to just take another motor and put it I don't know a foot away and then that air speed is that air
[00:31:46] is going to slow down so much that that's going to probably approximate where that you know because the incoming air is obviously Never full speed until you get to like the Vmax
[00:31:59] or whatever but you guys see what I'm saying right you just put another propeller hook it up to the same testing device and as it ramps the main propeller on the load cell the other one
[00:32:12] is BL is just banging away too and that's going to create that incoming air speed but it it it V what you'd be able to do super interesting to do I think the this is just
[00:32:28] me talking out of my ass but you would you would actually not hook them up to the same thing you would hook the you would run the tested motor and prop Full Steam and then you would you would
[00:32:39] ramp up the the wind tunnel motor and that would give you the load the that would give you the thrust number the instant that you Hammer the throttle and then as you ramp this other motor
[00:32:53] up you would get get a curve and you ramp this this wind tunnel motor up to full speed slowly and that's going to give you an actual graph of the the power that this thing will make you
[00:33:06] know what I'm saying in an unloaded environment I don't know if I've ever like thought all the way through that I've thought about that a bunch these are like this is what I think
[00:33:15] about in the shower I this is how boring of a human being I am this these are the thoughts that that go through my mind in the shower I don't I don't I've never like gone all the way
[00:33:29] down that rabbit hole though welcome if if you're new here welcome to see how FPV is live stream we don't I don't do this all the time but sometimes you just get stream of Consciousness
[00:33:39] but hopefully it's interesting no it's not well well I tried Walter V vanord says would be nice to see a drone on an old 350cc to strike Yama what what do you mean
[00:33:54] like using using a like a gasoline powered drone or take the engine out and put a drone there to make thrust to power it CBF PV says between the new air 65 or the May 6220 24 which is better for
[00:34:13] inside outside freestyle 65mm millimeter rigs are not for outside they're they're for inside or they're for Jungle Gym bashing but they're inside rigs Wednesday's live stream I it was
[00:34:26] basically the whole live stream was the answer to that exact question so just watch Wednesday's live stream it's not a question that can be answered in one sentence other than to say that they're
[00:34:40] both awesome and you will not be disappointed with either one most people won't even notice the difference between the two I mean you might notice the difference but like most people will
[00:34:49] not be more happy with one versus the other if you're a super super super super super experienced pilot you might be able to tell some differences here or there if I gun to my head if I had to
[00:35:00] sum it up in one sentence it would be air 65 if you don't want to upgrade it Mobula 6 2024 if you do but we talked all about it on Wednesday's stream it was a good one I flew them both around
[00:35:14] go check that out Walter also says you do something doing works I just sit here and look at you do things build things friends fix things break things then fix them while I'm on in the
[00:35:27] background that's the move from from what I've been told that's the way to consume these live streams spoka dog KOA says we got our daughter an expensive ass flute she played it
[00:35:40] for two years welcome to Parenthood L well I got I got seven months out of theit it's it's fine dude there look there's nothing cooler than a guitar on the wall so and I I I got her
[00:35:52] like black and white and then I put this really cool My Chemical Romance sticker on it so it's the coolest piece of wall art ever and for like a 100 bucks for a fender Squire
[00:36:06] not to mention that like if I ever went to sell a fender Squire I'd sell it for hundred bucks and I would get a 100 bucks so it's it's absolutely completely fine I I I I I
[00:36:17] damn near bought a second one because there was somebody that was doing and buy two of them for like 180 bucks I almost bought a second one to put on the wall down here across from the
[00:36:32] drum set literally as wall art like you go to buy a half decent piece of art it's going to cost like 100 bucks plus a guitar hanging on the wall that's a pretty [@$#%] cool piece of
[00:36:44] art and we got like some we got my I don't know where that came from but you know you didn't expect it that's for sure Brandon back Bean says the HQ prop 40mm under by blades
[00:36:58] are also just kind of not as efficient I do like them in the 2 and half inch to three and a half inch micro size though for being tough as Nails thank you for saying that Brandon I
[00:37:09] I really haven't tested them much but because I I just can't not test anything ever I got a bunch of them and I am going to be testing them I was going to test them today if it hadn't [@$#%]
[00:37:22] rained all day but sub 250 FPV the the the manufacturer not the Instagram Channel he has had HQ make a bunch of their propellers in his cool green color and so these are the 1.6
[00:37:37] in and you can get them in both 1 and half mm motor shaft and 1 mil so I got some of each and I drilled them out so that I can actually push them all the way down on the goddamn Motors
[00:37:50] and I've got a set on the 1S WalkSnail rig that again I was going to test today but I guess it'll have to be tomorrow that I've drilled out for the VCI 82.8 27 28 29 whatever the hell they are th000 KV Motors
[00:38:09] and then I've got another set that are going to be going on the jungle jimm Basher analog rig to test them out there as well so I will be testing the HQ by blades Brandon just
[00:38:25] spoiled the surprise though I think I remember that being the deal though I did test them like way back when when they first came out and I think I remember them not having as much
[00:38:36] thrust and being a little bit less efficient if you just like look at them you can just see like they kind of just look like Fisher Price my first propeller design compared to the
[00:38:49] to the GemFan props that just look a lot more aerodynamic I know that's like solidly into the realm of Bro Science but like I don't know look at like look at that you know
[00:39:05] look look at that that's what like a lot of old school FPV props looked like and then like these are beat to hell but the pro these are like super beat and the outsides are all chewed
[00:39:16] up hold on do I have a newer set of of GemFan by blades floating around here look at the the ends of the propellers see how it's like kind of flattened out to sort of
[00:39:30] match up with the with the duct and it's just generally like a more aerodynamic looking blade profile than than HQ so I don't know using Bro Science you can kind of figure it
[00:39:44] out sort of not really because crazier things have happened sometimes a prop that looks it's made by Fisher Price is is actually better but I don't know this is what we have
[00:40:00] to go off of we get no actual data from anyone ever and so we have to just make [@$#%] up noce says what's tonight's shirt I see Beaker and bunson this is a Christmas present for my
[00:40:16] parents it just makes me laugh every single time half fast says BetaFlight Wiki recommends 30 to 40 Dynamic Idol for 5 in what do you set your tiny whoops to Brandon's speaking of Brandon's
[00:40:31] baked beans he let me know not too long ago that the either the BetaFlight devs or the BL heli devs or the Blue Jay devs I think might the blue jay devs have realized that Dynamic Idol
[00:40:42] on ones can cause problems and it can blow up uh esc's so I have turned Dynamic Idol off of most of my 1S rigs there's still a couple that have it on and they've been fine I was using it forever
[00:40:57] but for me Dynamic idle always a value of 30 30 is like nice and low so that when you're upside down at idle it's not pulling you back into the ground but it's also not so low that
[00:41:10] the motors are going to stall out so yeah I I run Dynamic idle at 30 on just absolutely everything and it works awesome I've dropped it down lower than that and it's I don't know
[00:41:23] it's not like noticeably better and there's more of a risk of a motor stalling out so to me 30 is is where it's at timman says how does roster get away with Dynamic Idol on
[00:41:35] the air 65 I thought it didn't work on 1S and 2S it totally works but it there could be a problem with it so I used it forever and it was totally fine but when Brandon says it might
[00:41:48] cause [@$#%] to blow up I was like y it doesn't work that well for me to keep using it and be risky with it so it works fine Walter says I'm dong JB sbang doing JB's stick bang course
[00:42:01] looks like this story very cool piceno free ho is back I haven't seen you in a while man how are you he says I'm late but SE FV HQ props fit perfect on the 0703 RC and power 27,000
[00:42:13] KV without drilling the motor has a short shaft very cool I short shaft motor oh man someday I'll stop being such a [@$#%] child short shaft Motors
[00:42:31] short shafts are a perfect fit for HQ got a short shaft HQ props are for you there it is bman FPV I haven't seen you in a while either man how the hell are you I've been great how about you Walter
[00:43:04] says the height of the stator Jesus is like Spanking the Monkey with two fingers or full hand I I don't know what that means but I like it Brandon MC Bean says thrust stand plus
[00:43:16] Leaf plus leaf blower plus mass airflow sensor oh my god dude that's a [@$#%] great idea I mean Mass airf flow sensors you can get at the junkyard from like any car you would just have
[00:43:32] to figure out how to you'd have to figure out how to interpolate the voltage coming out of it leaf blower Outlet is roughly the same size as intake piping on a lot of cars
[00:43:46] that would be very very cool YouTube just did the thing trying to find where I was at Cold po power says this is why you spend so much time in the shower me too Cole pow says only thing
[00:44:02] cooler than guitar on the wall is knowing how to play [Laughter] it you're not wrong keev Kevin Sumer is in the chat ah ah Kevin suar asked me to mention this on the last stream and
[00:44:15] I completely forgot castle crash is looking for volunteers if you plan on going to castle crash and you want to be in the Cool Kids Club you got to volunteer that's how you're coolt
[00:44:27] cool at any event ever hit him up Kevin suner is in the chat right now it looks like he was 7 minutes ago at least he probably still is yeah counil crash is looking for volunteers there's
[00:44:40] there's probably like I'm not going to there's there's probably something that you'll get for doing it like a free t-shirt or maybe a couple bucks off your admission or something they'll
[00:44:50] probably do something for you but like to be really honest volunteering for [@$#%] like you get to hang out with the other people that have volunteered and those are the coolest people there
[00:45:00] because people that volunteer and want to help other people out are the coolest [@$#%] people like here's a life hack do volunteer stuff it's filled with other volunteers and those are
[00:45:13] really caring really kind nice awesome people I've met some of my best friends like my best lifelong friends right like the friends that don't use you the friends that don't
[00:45:27] appear when when you're you're no longer whatever like valuable to them those friends a lot of them I've met through volunteering um so volunteer for Stuffit's amazing and
[00:45:42] usually you're not like shoveling [@$#%] you're usually just like doing something pretty easy and just hanging out so do it hit up Kevin Sumer if you're interested in volunteering also
[00:45:57] the castle crash website is up I'm going to assume that it's Castle crash.com nope Google it nope don't Google it apparently there's a video game called Castle Crashers what
[00:46:17] about castle crash FPV nope Kevin how do we find the castle crash website what's the URL all right on Instagram castle crash FPV and then I've never seen Instagram do that
[00:46:42] that's interesting here it is link tree nope found it castle crash fv. goad sites.com my friends just search Instagram type into Google castle crash FPV and then the second link
[00:47:14] is a link to their Instagram and then all the info is there shoot them a message if you want to volunteer if you don't volunteer I will slap you in public help a brother out Kevin Sumer
[00:47:22] is an extremely giving gracious what's the word he volunteers for a lot of stuff he helps out like crazy at uh Rampage every year he's just very I can't think of the word i i for
[00:47:47] I I forget this word a lot actually and I always go with gracious but that that's that's a that's a weird word gratuitous is not the right word either he's a very gratuitous
[00:48:06] person it's not the right word whatever you guys know what I'm trying to say Kev Su says skids if you're trying to talk to se FV be sure to tag him in your comment like I just
[00:48:20] did Striker saysskid says love your vids by the way thank you very much he also says I want to do backyard freestyle should I get the air 75 air 75 seems pretty damn good the mobula
[00:48:30] 7 elrs 1S is also really good you're going to be totally fine with either one the air 75 is going to have Motors that are direct soldered which for me makes me want to punch a child
[00:48:47] the Mobula 7 1S elrs has motor plugs which I would personally go that route but yeah the air 75 is going to be lighter so you're going to get a little bit better power to weight ratio
[00:49:04] the air 75 is also going to come with better Motors the Mobula 7 elrs 1S the motors that it comes with kind of suck they're not terrible but they're not great either but it has motor
[00:49:16] plugs so you can replace those Motors very easily with really good Motors so so if you don't want to upgrade at all Air 75 if you're willing to upgrade a little bit the the Mobula 7 El s1s
[00:49:33] with these IGA 0802 27,000 KV Motors is brilliant so there you go Sher said we got that strer says recursion Labs does some cool stuff with prop testing why have I heard of recursion Labs before they the guys over in
[00:50:01] Europe I think I recommended them a while ago yeah he's also hysterical recursion Labs does some really good stuff they haven't done anything in a while though unfortunately see 11 months ago
[00:50:16] so they have some really really really good stuff on here for like 3 in 2 and 1/2 in 3 and 1/2 in testing so recursion la is a great channel when he says the word thrust every once in a while he goes thrust
[00:50:32] and it's just makes me laugh every time uh really really really good stuff here on recursion Labs but unfortunately he hasn't made any content in a while Milo says I'm a big fan of 3-inch toothpicks
[00:50:43] you know what the sauces for good build slf flying setup trying to wrap my head around why they're not your thing keep doing the thing man thank you dude basically I burned toothpicks out my
[00:50:56] first two to three years of flying eight seven and six years ago it's all I flew my very first rig was a toothpick before they were called toothpicks and I flew thousands and thousands
[00:51:13] and thousands of batteries on that and built upgraded the hell out of it built more helped Bob kind of like understand what a toothpick was going to be and then at some point
[00:51:28] he came out with motors and frames and coined the word toothpick by that time I I I was just it just wasn't my thing anymore if I was going to be flying a 3-in rig I wanted it to have more
[00:51:42] power and more weight so that when I came off the throttle I could throw it up over stuff um toothpicks are kind of like old school tiny whoops where you fly them sort of two-dimensionally you
[00:51:56] go forward back left and right yes you can go up and down but once you come off the throttle they just stop they don't they don't have any momentum they don't have any Mass to carry themselves
[00:52:07] up over objects I guess you you you kind of fly them three-dimensionally up down left right forward back heavier more powerful rigs you almost fly four dimensionally where you can come off the
[00:52:21] throttle and when you come off the throttle that's sort of like the fourth dimension I it would be a better way to put it I think and I just every time I go back to toothpicks I
[00:52:31] like what I love about toothpicks is how accurate they are right they're very lightweight so they don't have a lot of mass to for them to slide around and so they're brilliant for shooting
[00:52:42] smaller gaps and whatnot in the same way that tiny whoops are really good for that but yeah if I'm flying outside I want to throw these shits over stuff I want to like have Full Throttle up to
[00:52:54] the front of the tree and chop the throttle throw it inverted and just and just scrape the leaves all the way up over the top and then down the back that that's like the fourth dimension
[00:53:04] for me and so I just I don't tend to build many toothpicks they're great to have and they're great to learn on and so nothing wrong with them I I just I have been flying for so long
[00:53:19] that I want that fourth dimension when I fly we've gotten that fourth dimension with tiny whoops with these really powerful Motors and now with them becoming so lightweight and we can do
[00:53:31] the off throttle stuff inside the house and Hammer hammer it backwards chop the throttle and have it carry all the way across the room hopefully through the through a set of gates so
[00:53:41] my the way that I build tiny whoops is to try to achieve that sort of fourth dimension uh in my opinion for a toothpick you actually want to go 2 and 1/2 in propeller because that's
[00:53:57] going to get you a little bit more of that throw 3in propellers are always on on these quads the propellers are always spinning so they're always disrupting the air above and below and
[00:54:10] when you come off the so when you come off the throttle there's a column of air on the top and the bottom of the propeller and so regardless of what orientation you're in as it's traveling
[00:54:22] through static not moving air it's punching a hole in the air and so the size of the propellers is going to is the size of the hole in the air that it's trying to punch through so by shrinking
[00:54:38] down from three to two and a half inch it makes a little bit smaller of an area and you get a little bit more of that off throttle throw so for me I like 2 and 1/2 in toothpicks although I I I
[00:54:50] I don't have one built at the moment but if I was going to build the toothpick which I will at some point here it's will be on 2 and 1 half in propellers to try to just get a little bit more
[00:55:00] off throttle throw from it unfortunately I'm not the guy to ask about like the right Motors the right AIO for toothpick stuff because I'm just not I don't fly them quad 66 here on
[00:55:10] YouTube though is the man they're not like the classical toothpick formula of canopy in the middle he's got the the camera and canopy in the middle he's got the camera pushed forward
[00:55:23] but other other than that it's everything you're going to learn from quad 66's channel is going to be totally valid which aiio are good which motor prop combos are good which battery
[00:55:33] voltage all that stuff so check quad 66 out great guy Mark JZ says enjoying your analog 6 65mm free style build is there a digital version that has similar performance is it worth it
[00:55:43] for indoor freestyle no digital is too heavy hd0 is trying really hard from what I stand to get the weight down but today there are no digital tiny whoops that fly anywhere near as
[00:56:01] good as analog it's basically a 5 to six gram weight penalty depending on if you go hd0 walk snail and that's too much that's like a 33% it's like a 30% increase in weight and so think
[00:56:13] about that in 5 in scale right 700 gram 5 in rig you add 30% more weight to that that thing's going to fly like ass it's going to be like damn near a kilogram and so it digital just adds
[00:56:28] so much weight all that being said I do have a bunch of digital builds that fly pretty damn good when you just look at them as their own things when you compare them to analog they fly
[00:56:40] like hell but when you compare them to like old school tiny whoops and when I say old school I mean like two whole years ago they fly great they fly every bit as good as Tiny whoops did two
[00:56:54] or three or four years ago it's just that right now the analog tiny whoops are bananas so don't compare them to analog tiny whoops and they're pretty goddamn impressive and they're
[00:57:10] super fun and you're going to get 10860 out of WalkSnail it looks phenomenal you know at the beginning of the live stream you got to see me chasing little RC drift cars around with
[00:57:19] digital 65mm builds it's just it's insane you can do with them but as soon as you compare them to these analog rigs at like 16 something gr 17 something gr dry it's just it's apples and
[00:57:31] oranges they they you you they compared to these analog rigs they fly like cine whoops they don't but C whoops do some pretty cool [@$#%] like I I I can fly my cow whoops really hard and and
[00:57:49] do like a lot of acrobatic nonsense with them and you can do the same thing with a WalkSnail 65mm tiny whoop or 75mm tiny whoop but then these analog rigs fly like full-blown 5in monsters
[00:58:02] and so apples and oranges bman says I've been collecting a ton of prop bags do you still use them for shipping stuff I can send you more I am I'm good at the moment but I do run
[00:58:16] through them so if no like huge hurry but I would love them I I run through prop bags like crazy I being sponsored by GemFan couple of times the year they send me a big ass box of whatever props I want and those
[00:58:38] props are in big bags so I don't get any prop bags anymore luckily I saved all of mine from the years and years and years that I wasn't sponsored by them but eventually I I got through them so
[00:58:50] for for you guys if you save your prop bags eventually I'll come on a stream and be like does anybody have any extra prop bags you hoarding bastards that you want to un hord
[00:59:01] so B man no no rush whatsoever cuz I have a big old stack over here but at some point or if if you're just dying to get them out of your house by all means send them over I
[00:59:10] they will absolutely get used Sprout says are HD o2s with a TBS fusion and luminer axi antennas for 320 PBS a good deal used I could probably get get them down to 300 what analog goggles
[00:59:21] you using I use HD2 old school and they're great HD o2s are awesome as well I don't know the conversion rates but like if 320 pounds is roughly half what you would pay for those goggles
[00:59:36] that module and those antennas new absolutely that's a good deal for me used stuff at 50% off of new is is like good any less than that I'm like all over it but roughly 50% off
[00:59:50] that's a really good deal Kevin Sumer dropping a bunch of castle crash passes and volunteer free pass links into the chat at 747 748 look them up friends come to castle crash and hang out
[01:00:03] Kevin Su says volunteers get a free pass that's a pretty goddamn good deal my friends Kevin Su also says you merely need to scroll down in your chat bman says philan philanthropic that
[01:00:17] works but that that's a little fancy of a word generous is the word generous wi Wilkening FPV got it generous Kevin Sumer is very generous with this time wny do I continually forget the word
[01:00:30] generous don't get old notice with a $5 Super Chat thank you brother he says I may have asked before if a rig is a bit heavy can you not counter that with more power you can but the weight is
[01:00:49] going to make it carry its momentum so heavy rigs are harder to shoot gaps with as you try to line up a gap if you're at all off and you have to make a correction a heavier rig is going to be
[01:01:02] harder to correct so a lightweight rig if you only have to go like this to make the correction on a heavier weight rig you're going to have to go like that and when you do this when you roll the rig
[01:01:14] it is immediately obvious everybody is used to television and movies being having the Horizon dead level right on movies with action based stuff they have gimbals for static cameras
[01:01:28] they have them locked down on a tripod and they typically level The Horizon and so when you're flying if you want your footage to look good and professional and clean and watchable one of the
[01:01:41] best things you can do is fly in a way that the Horizon is almost always as level as possible as soon as you do what I call losing the Horizon and you start doing this in roll it either looks like
[01:01:54] a mistake or the viewer is it just it makes people not like doesn't make them uncomfortable but it's just doesn't look cinematic every single movie every single TV show someone has
[01:02:08] ever seen 99% of the shots have the Horizon dead ass level one of the things that causes people to have a hard time watching FPV footage is that we don't do that we send the [@$#%] Horizon all over
[01:02:19] the goddamn place and so that's something that for me as like a atic FPV pilot basically as as 50% of my job sort of it's super super super important I I think it should be more
[01:02:33] important to more people because it really does make your footage look cleaner and more professional and just better and so if you're going to line up a gap and your horizon is dead
[01:02:43] level all the way up to it's looks [@$#%] clean man that just looks like one big clean line that you planned out 10 seconds ago a lighter weight rig helps out with that quite a bit
[01:02:55] also prop guards help out with that because prop guards are a vertical surface and that's going to prevent that sliding right you slide sideways there's wind resistance there and it and it it
[01:03:06] straightens it back out so really heavy rigs with tons of power what they do well is hurl over stuff so if you've got like five trees in a row and you want to try to clear all those
[01:03:22] trees inverted a heavy powerful rig is the way to do that you can do it on most rigs but that's the one thing that heavy powerful rigs do really really well everything else they don't
[01:03:34] do that's it they don't do anything else as good as lighter weight rigs worse efficiency worse at at at tracking a straight line worse at not killing people if you accidentally hit them with
[01:03:49] it they make more noise because you got to make more power to move all that extra weight and they have more power power equals noise right there's all kinds of things that heavy rigs don't do well
[01:04:01] but for some reason like all of these Pilots that fly these 750 800 850 gram rigs they just cling to this one [@$#%] thing like oh no no they have I have to have this 50 gram chunk of TPU on the back I
[01:04:18] have to have this wing on the back it makes it Fly better no it makes it carry more momentum over big [@$#%] objects that's one single thing it is cool though I will admit having a really heavy really
[01:04:35] powerful rig and then just hammering it over a whole bunch of trees is very cool but that that's 10% of what you're going to do I I build rigs for the other 90% And that's
[01:04:46] fine and most rigs carry a good amount of momentum it's I can throw over four trees instead of five oh damn they crash better when they're lighter all kinds of good stuff Robert
[01:04:59] G says I found the PPP prop popper on wee bed fpv is it worth it yes zotech sent me one it works great absolutely nothing wrong with it it comes with a couple different tips for one and
[01:05:11] a half MIM shafts I got to be honest though I don't like the Little Fork quite as much I find myself using the Clone popper from Tiny whoop way more often because this little Fork is very
[01:05:28] thin and that all that makes it easier to get it in between the propeller and the bell of the motor this guy the the fork is just a tiny little bit thicker it's totally me being insane
[01:05:43] but I I have the two of them sitting on my desk and I keep reaching for this one because of the Little Fork if this is out of stock absolutely get this if you're already doing an order on wee bed
[01:05:54] absolutely get this you want want to have more than one of these because if you just have one on your bench when you're out flying somewhere eventually you'll need it so get one of
[01:06:03] each this guy not having the differ size tips is kind of no big deal because it comes with a 1 mm tip which is as small as you ever need if this works on 1 and a half millim shaft so I mean it's
[01:06:16] it's totally fine but this is great too if you're doing an order from Weeble you don't have one definitely snag it the the prop poppers are all amazing and if you don't have one you
[01:06:27] are just ruining your fingertips for no reason they're great to have everybody should have a prop popper Walter says I think that stick bang is like throwing Mass around and acting on the
[01:06:38] mistakes it's a great way at getting good at covering up mistakes that's for sure Brandon Bean says the GoPro 12 with the 8 by7 sensor does gyro flow Horizon lock very well but
[01:06:49] that's kind of a cheat code for cinematic use yeah and Horizon lock is something that like is soon as you go inverted it goes It goes crazy and it does weird [@$#%] so free
[01:07:04] nonstabilized freestyle is still to me where it's at for freestyle like any kind of stabilization I can always tell and I don't it's not it's not what you're doing on the sticks it takes out
[01:07:17] the sharpness that you've done on purpose in a lot of cases it takes a lot of the drama out of the flying right like you can do a real sharp move and get your viewer were like whoa whereas with
[01:07:27] with stabilization it that goes out the window so I I don't really recommend any kind of stabilization on freestyle easy for me to say I've spent thousands of hours over
[01:07:41] the last 8 years getting good at flying freestyle really smoothly you do you there there's nothing wrong with using the stabilization um it has a look if that's the look you're going
[01:07:52] for [@$#%] use it don't don't listen to me but for like pure freestyle action-packed flying in parking lots and around trees and [@$#%] to me it's no stabilization BR B
[01:08:08] Bean says you got to enable key framing then when the flip happens you got to take smoothing to zero then bring it back in I've done this before that's interesting you you can do all
[01:08:18] of that on the GoPro that's super impressive how the hell or do you do it after the fact you do it after the fact I'll bet you do that in the GoPro software don't you oh oh oh you're
[01:08:30] talking about gyro flow okay yeah yep yep yep yep I got you let's fly this rig with the Prototype Motors I'm caught up on chat we've got a transmitter I'm going to use the HD
[01:08:43] zero goggles because I'm going to send I'm gonna this is going to DVR what I'm doing and then Mato says isn't gyro I I think you mean gyro flow a stabilization so all this no stab
[01:08:59] [@$#%] is just a joke I don't know what you mean mdty gyro flow absolutely is stabilization but if you ran something through gyro flow it would not be considered no stabilization I think that's
[01:09:13] where I'm getting confused a little bit no I'm going to run antennas because I'm going to fly upstairs where the hell the antenna go uh oh no a on the flight controller not gyro flow
[01:09:27] oh no I mean no stabilization is referring to video stabilization right W without a gyro on the and the the the gyro on the flight controller doesn't do any stabilization all it does is match
[01:09:43] up the the drone's attitude to what your sticks are so there there's no stabilization per se done being done by the gyro on the on the flight controller it just makes it get rid
[01:09:57] of prop wash and match your sticks without the gyro on the flight controller it wouldn't the the quad actually wouldn't do anything your uh the the the set point get which is what you're
[01:10:11] doing on your sticks gets fed through the pit Loop and so when you move when you take the sticks from Center and push them anywhere that's considered error and so the the pit Loop basically
[01:10:22] sees the gyro and then it sees the sticks the the set point and then it matches your set point it's kind of a bigger I don't know if I did a great job explaining that but without a
[01:10:35] gyro on the quad they they would just wobble and Bobble all over the place and they would be completely unflyable and that the gyro on the quad doesn't do any stabilization
[01:10:46] whatsoever oh God that's not a gole battery that is all right do I have a do I have a memory card in here I do indeed all right let's get it on my friends oh [@$#%] hold on let me
[01:11:13] did I have that switch set on I did hold on I got to set up the two GES oh my God hold on all right we're ready Walter says get Teddy oh I will okay
[01:11:58] the big ass goggles God they're so big and heavy that's what she said this is a shitty battery I'm going to run first just to run it down it's not a shitty battery it's just a battery that
[01:12:08] I've over discharged a couple times so this first one's not going to perform quite as well as it should but that's okay just get warmed up to these motors a little bit you can already see it's sagging down to 406
[01:12:25] looks like I need to swap the ls module to go back to 2.5 here we go come on all right prototype Motors prototype Motors let's see how they are whoa all right so okay
[01:12:55] all right so I did not change the tune I want you to listen for something ready listen to when I when I chop the throttle just listen ready I just blew everything all over the
[01:13:07] place on my desk well it's not too this battery really [@$#%] its pants when the battery was fully charged when I chopped the throttle it was go so the noise that I was hearing was r
[01:13:27] the first was the throttle right so you do a throttle blip but then what it was doing was a secondary throttle blip when I had already zeroed the throttle so I was the move I was moving I'll
[01:13:43] do it this way for you guys I was going on the throttle and what it was doing was W that's what the motors were doing the motors were spinning up spinning down and then spinning back up and
[01:13:54] spinning back down down and that's a sign that your pit Loop is too aggressive or that you've got or you've got Motors or propellers that are out of balance in this case I just went from
[01:14:12] significantly lower KV Motors to much higher KV Motors and that is probably why this is happening this battery is very hot so this pit Loop is this pit tune is absolutely on the edge and
[01:14:27] so we need to back that off that happens when you go up to higher KV Motors higher KV more powerful Motors will give you a quicker response time the pit Loop when you turn the numbers up in the pit
[01:14:43] Loop those numbers are time based so when you turn those numbers up it AR officially gives you better response time so we've put Motors on that are higher KV and that has artificial see
[01:14:56] this pit tune's High bro when you do really powerful Motors you've got to chill the pit tune out so we're going to do that and that will probably bring it under control let's see now's
[01:15:11] when we're going to be able to tell though you take it off and you just do a bunch of throttle blips see how it's nice and Cal it's nice and quiet now there's not that secondary blip
[01:15:25] you guys probably couldn't hear that secondary blip but I certainly could and it sounds like let's get upstairs wow okay what's with the core temperature what's happening
[01:15:38] here hold on something ain't right something ain't right let me make sure that there's no prop that's out of balance I in Turtle mode I'm going to spin these motors up one
[01:15:55] time motor one nice and smooth motor two's got a little vibration to it four is pretty clean three's got a little vibration to it these are used propellers
[01:16:08] the props could be banged up huh what if I hovered around man that the the hover point is really low I mean the pit tune is obviously now fine it I mean it could oh it could still be on the
[01:16:38] edge fly is really good but this core temperature [@$#%] is super weird you'll get the core temperature situation creeping up like this when when the the two is too aggressive let me okay so one of
[01:16:55] the ways you can troubleshoot this is just to continue to back the tune off the easy way to do that is to take your multi master multiplier and pull that down so let me pull that down by three and let's just
[01:17:09] see let's just see what happens here so it's sitting steady at 160 which is a little bit better it's not creeping oh no there it goes creeping up again this AI could be on its way
[01:17:25] out that's a possibility I don't remember it doing this on the motors that were on it before though oh boy these motors are making really good power but the the core temperature thing is alarm
[01:17:54] in so I'm GNA have I'm going to put another set of motors on this rig and see what happens anytime I push it hard man it's got good power though even with the pit tune backed off like
[01:18:24] that no see so so the pit tune is now full-blown soft th this is now a pit tun that I am not happy with and the the hover point is very very low we're going to put this in the BetaFlight and we're
[01:18:42] going to take out the throttle Expo just to kind of eliminate that as a possibility this might be a pretty quick motor test uh this is why prototypes this is why people put
[01:19:04] people send out prototypes to get feedback like this I love I I love it when the product is good enough for me to batter the living [@$#%] out of it and give it like a proper durability test
[01:19:18] but sometimes it's takes one or two revisions to get there and that might be the case here so let's also just check the filter settings make sure there's nothing weird in here
[01:19:31] Chris Roser did a custom tune for the air 65 and echoed something I think Brandon might have told me which is that you only really need one gyro RPM filter harmonic for tiny whoops
[01:19:46] so that's cool so I've turned the gyro RPM filter harmonics down to one this is I mean we're not doing a ton of filtering here there's a good amount of filtering here so this is fine
[01:20:00] this is not a filtering issue and I said the previous set of motors on this thing were not doing this I did crash the [@$#%] out of it though I don't have a lot of throttle Expo
[01:20:10] on here so I'm only going to turn it down a little bit I'm going to turn it down to 0 2 and I'll put the throttle midpoint to 0.25 which is a lot closer to where the hover point was
[01:20:26] but I'm definitely noticing that the the hover point is way lower on this thing than what I'm used to but what did I come in here to do what are you beeping for what do you want for me
[01:20:39] what did I come in here to do God damn it what the hell was it what's up KY how are you homie oh I came in here to turn the the the throttle Expo off okay good all right I'm not going to change anything
[01:21:01] else I'm going to put another battery through it and that might be the last battery that I put through these motors because the core temperature coming up is not
[01:21:12] great trying to think of what the next set of Motors I'll put on here is I don't think I have anything else that I've mean to try but that be that that's the the next step of me kind of troubleshooting this
[01:21:31] is to take the thing off that seems to have all of a sudden Walter says can you give me later beta view I don't know what that means ask me that again Striker says 4.0 on a fresy
[01:21:44] charg pack is insane it happens tiny whoop life Sprout says 320b HD2 deal would be around $320 it's a really good deal the the fat shark goggles have shitty DVRs but other
[01:21:59] than that they're phenomenal all right let's see what did I just change I changed the uh the throttle Expo amount now see it's still hovering very low at like 24% I'll get used to it
[01:22:17] but let's get it upstairs before it gets too high hot and they have great power they really do whoa that ain't good that was some sort of a desync oh man I might have just cooked
[01:22:42] it where even is it I no it's fine now I just keep Turtle moding it in hopes that someone will help me I I think I hear footsteps somebody's going to help me where even
[01:23:02] was it oh it was in the couch thank you oh no it cooked it oh it cooked it nope [@$#%] yep it blew up the left rear motor 3 has left the chat did you guys see any crazy
[01:23:26] amp numbers thank you baby it's through a prop we're it's it's all good it's through a propeller we're fine hold on we'll put a fresh prop on we'll see how it fits
[01:24:17] did you guys happen to notice any like crazy amp numbers by chance anybody [@$#%] I got to go all the way in here for more propellers what am I doing what am I doing with my
[01:24:32] life all right there are those Tri blades here are the 1.6es why is it always the last bag that you grab there it is of course all right we'll we able to fly a little bit more that's good I was about to
[01:24:48] be pissed because this is a 2g4 I thought it just cooked the 2g4 I was like no is this did you guys happen to notice in the postflight stats is it reporting RPM what did it throw a right side High
[01:25:14] all right here we go all right so this is a fresh GemFan 1210 let's see how it fits let's see how wow no it just fell onto the motor shaft okay so the the shafts are a little
[01:25:36] bit skinnier than what they should be Curtis a says what does desync mean desync is a desynchronization that happens between the ESC and the well between BetaFlight and the ESC I guess
[01:25:52] basically it's when a motor shuts off off when it shouldn't the like unexpectedly a motor shuts off maybe there's a fet that's dying on the on the ESC or maybe there's a number
[01:26:13] of different reasons it can happen but it's a it's a desynchronization that that happens and so a motor will just shut off mid-flight and then your [@$#%] falls out of the air
[01:26:24] it is not a fail safe most people think that they've had a desync when they've had fail safes they are too completely different things with a fail safe you're flying along
[01:26:35] and the rig will freeze for 1 and a half seconds is the default value and you'll move the sticks and nothing will happen if you're quiet on the sticks if if you're just like in a turn it can
[01:26:46] go into fail safe and you won't even notice it when you're moving the sticks around actively flying and it goes into fail safe you will notice it because because what it does is when it loses
[01:26:57] when it loses the link between your transmitter antenna and the onboard receiver antenna what it does is it freezes so the last command that it got it just sticks with that command for
[01:27:10] a second and a half so if you're moving the sticks around it'll just for a second and a half and then it'll drop out of the sky a desync is just you're flying around and it's just and a desync will
[01:27:22] happen on a corner a fail safe it kills all four Motors at a time so if you're flying along like this the fail safe will happen and it's going to like kind of aerodynamically leaf like
[01:27:34] like like on the way down and it's going to have like a thing a desync is going to be one motor goes so it's going to death roll and it's just all of a sudden going to Start Tumbling
[01:27:46] there's the difference notice says confirm two amps on the final screen all right so the amps are wrong it's pulling a hell of a lot more than two amps that's for sure I'm going to
[01:27:57] keep it down here since I think it's going to keep throwing these propellers off they I already know they have good power I mean we could tell that move right there oh God Max ESC RPM
[01:28:15] 58,000 that'll be more oh God God they fly fine the tune sucks but we can fly around it oh boy 58,000 again wow okay so it's consistently hitting 58,000 RPM in an unloaded setting right flying for
[01:28:50] real great power I'm super happy with that about these motors but I my well so here we go again all right my guess is going to be that these motors do not have thick enough
[01:29:13] copper in the windings for the KV that causes Motors to be inefficient look at the run time I mean we did unplug the battery and all but we have not gotten great run time on these
[01:29:38] motors let me try this I'm going to fly a whole 300 MH battery kind of backed off and we'll see what the we'll see what the they're prototype Motors Curtis so I can't really talk
[01:29:51] about it P Richard Scott's in the house what's up homie how the hell are you Jesus uh these batteries are getting really [@$#%] hot something's going on we're going to confirm
[01:30:06] this by swapping these motors out I don't know if we'll do it tonight no we're not going to have time it's already 8:30 but let me no we'll do one more we'll do one more
[01:30:21] real quick we have a couple more minutes I'm very curious about the efficiency on these so I'm going to chill out I'm also curious if I'm also curious if the if
[01:30:33] the the ESC temperature warning will persist even though I'm not flying very fast let's see so it's there at 158 let's see if it keeps climbing up or if it chills out [@$#%]
[01:31:01] you this is me answering a question about efficiency very curious I mean I don't usually fly like this so This should get a good amount of runtime like this has to get this has to get three
[01:31:33] minutes of run time just limping it around like this but I mean let's see core temperature came back down that's nice oh now it's all the way back down there it is again oh man it's not looking great for
[01:31:56] efficiency we're all the way down to 3.5 already and it's only a minute and a half so my guess is going to be that these motors which are higher KV were wound with the same thickness winding
[01:32:18] material as the lower KV versions and that's leading and that's giving us the RPM but it's not giving us the grunt or the efficiency that we want wow this efficiency is super bad we're all the way down at
[01:32:43] 3.4 and it's only been 2 minutes and 15 seconds and I've I've absolutely like have you guys ever seen me fly this chill oh boy I landed in my flight bag and there it goes into the battery compartment that is
[01:33:10] enough for me I think I'm going to move this onto a known set of motors and we'll see if that we'll see if that core temperature [@$#%] goes away the the core temperature warning could be
[01:33:24] tied to why it's chewing through batteries that fast but that's it's all together it's not like there's any reason to separate one out from the other right so this is why we
[01:33:41] prototype this is why not we I had nothing to do with these motors but this is why manufacturers prototype are the motors Hot n tiny whoop Motors never get hot and the shafts are too
[01:33:54] skinny but Jason black says what do you fly like when you don't talk a lot better actually Cisco says I was pushing KV limit on 2S oh he also says that's the same way
[01:34:07] mine acted not not long before it caught fire core temperature seems to be an early warning to ESC being overworked yep very true never ever people say like oh just remove the core
[01:34:17] temperature warnings from your OSD don't do that never never never do that the the ESC should not be heating up there's something going on it might just be that your AO is on its way
[01:34:31] out but there's something going on turning the the core temperature warnings off is a great way to lose the entire rig because something's going wrong and you're ignoring it I'm
[01:34:45] going to fly the Mobula 6 2024 V1 with a 260 mAh battery and I'll attempt to not talk through it but I don't want you guys just to have no sound so I'll put on some copyright free [@$#%]
[01:35:08] Ballers that song's terrible we know that song this is good enough this is good enough Mark that one red all right ready are you ready I asked you yes or no answer me lightweight rig time here we go I
[01:35:37] almost Stevie wondered it almost Stevi it here we go friends I don't necessarily know if I'm flying good tonight though what just happened what what oh what what what
[01:36:24] maybe I did have the the right nope now we're good here you guys go sometimes I do just fly like [@$#%] though fair warning song's only 2 minutes long ah no no
[01:37:09] no ah oh God that was lucky oh come on stop it let me me oh [@$#%] you oh uhoh checked God damn it ah come on get out of there I must have lost the antenna hell no I don't want
[01:38:58] to walk oh God I it's rolling I lost the antenna H it just popped off there you guys go I was flying good for a minute there woo curtesy says not much difference same number of f
[01:39:23] bombs per minute it's about right come on I knew I should have put a little dab of E6000 on this oh well I'll fix it later all right definitely the same number of curses
[01:39:44] but every once in a while I get in the zone I I've I've really learned to I mean that I I started to figure out how to talk while doing hard things way back in Motorsports days as an
[01:40:01] instructor and then I just kept it going into FPV days so it doesn't really affect me that much to talk sometimes it does some if here's what it is if if I'm having if I'm having like
[01:40:15] if I'm talking about things that that require actual brain power like if I like if I'm trying to explain how like the pit Loop Works to you guys while I'm flying it's going to affect my
[01:40:27] flying if I'm just like ranting and raving like a maniac about some Rando [@$#%] like I it won't really affect me all that much but it is really nice when I when I fly not during
[01:40:40] live streams and I'm just like sitting on the couch [@$#%] vibing it is really cool it it is really cool just to kind of focus on flying it usually takes me a little bit of time
[01:40:53] to kind of get into that but that's when I have the most fun although man it's is really fun to hang out with you guys and fly and talk to you guys and talk you through what I'm
[01:41:06] doing and [@$#%] but it's not a not a huge difference it does make a difference like if I'm actually remotely in the zone like if I'm if I'm kind of getting in
[01:41:18] the zone I'll usually like stop talking like you'll you'll just I will shut up a little bit but I don't get in the zone all that often it takes me a bunch of batteries and I got to be
[01:41:35] like I got to have gotten some sleep the night before which is pretty rare I got to be in it and it's doesn't happen super often but when it happens godamn is it nice
[01:41:49] Cisco says I've got some good stuff cooking on 2S walks now 82.8 13,500 KV are pretty close but I think I found something a little better very cool I'm actually diving into a bunch
[01:42:01] of motor testing on the 2S rigs I just got to put the orders in on the 2S rig I should say there's just the one so we'll compare notes Walter says can Curtis send in his best
[01:42:14] Walter says show me some vids of that of what Cisco says I was pushing the KV limit on 2s where were you at I'm pretty I'm pretty up there on mine I'm looking forward to it I was
[01:42:34] I had the 2S batteries charged as well waiting to go today and it just rained all goddamn day do it tomorrow dive into it tomorrow what else what else what else what else what else I'm also going
[01:42:53] to be retesting a bunch of One S stuff I have this guy sitting here I'm going to first test these HQ 1.6 in by blades I'm going to put it back onto the onto the GemFan gem fan by blades and then
[01:43:08] I'm going to swap the frames some of the things I left out here I'm going to well they're they're the same frames meteor 75 air frames I'm going to swap the motors so I've done a bunch
[01:43:21] of flying on these VCI 82.8 27,000 I'm going to swap it over to the BetaFPV 1102 22,000 uh and then I'm going to swap it over to the RC and Power 102 22,000 I just want to revisit really
[01:43:38] what I want to do is lock down the motors This One S WalkSnail rig is going to stay together I I like it enough previously I thought like no I'm going to pull it apart and switch out the the
[01:43:56] AIO to a 2S AIO and then I'll have two 2S rigs but I'm really impressed at how close this thing is to the 2S build on these VCI Motors and also like I have this WalkSnail VTX and AIO all set up
[01:44:12] it's kind of silly to desolder them and so this is going to stay together I think this has plenty of use it's nice and Quiet Light 1S great love it I just want to nail down the set of motors on here
[01:44:26] I don't want to have three frames with different motors for this WalkSnail 1S build so I'm going to revisit I think these VCI Motors are the way that I want to go but I I I want to check
[01:44:36] myself again because it's been a little bit so I'm going to run a bunch of batteries through this probably tomorrow and then on Sunday I'll have more info for you as to which which Motors I
[01:44:47] think are the best for a 1S WalkSnail build the the VCI Motors are the lightest and make the most power I think out of these three for the record the VCI 82.8 High KVs I think they're 27,000 KV
[01:45:02] the BetaFPV 1102 22000 the RC and Power 102 22,000 these are the three best motor options you will be happy with any three of these motors on a 1S WalkSnail build WalkSnail light build
[01:45:18] with the BetaFPV cross AIO BT 2.0 Mobula 6 canopy it's the lightest canopy to hold the walks nail light camera you will love any of these these setups unbelievably the BetaFPV 1102s have
[01:45:32] the the most runtime and the second most power the RC and power 102s have the middle run time and the least amount of power the VCI motors have the worst runtime but the most power the the
[01:45:48] RCN power 102s and the BetaFPV 1102s both have 1 and a half mm shaft so they're probably going to be damn near indestructible but I've used these BetaFPV 1102s in the past and I've had a hard
[01:46:05] time with the motor shafts bending I don't know if they're using a lower quality metal on the motor shafts or something but in terms of durability the RC and power 102s are going to be the most durable
[01:46:15] and then these VC are only a 1 mm motor shaft so but between these and the BetaFPV 1102s it's probably a toss up in terms of in terms of durability so there you go I want to like
[01:46:29] I said lock in on a set of Motors I I I I don't need these two frames sitting here so I'm going to figure it out do a bunch of flying and I will know what's what soon enough I got one more
[01:46:44] 450 meh battery that I want to on the charger to have it ready for tomorrow and there it is or should I fly the 550s N the 550s are too heavy it'll fly like [@$#%] on the 550s that's unfair
[01:47:03] so no I'm G to fly these 450s some of these 450s are a little bit beat up though so I got to pay attention to that but it should be pretty obvious so that's what's coming with
[01:47:14] this these props I need these props I need and then these props cool so I'm actually going to put these all into little build bag and then I can throw that on the coffee
[01:47:32] table and that'll remind me tomorrow here we go will this fit it'll fit I'll make it fit um so there's that these 82.5 no nope just 0802 25,000 KV is what I meant to say Motors
[01:47:53] need to get put onto that Mobula 71s frame ask me some questions friends I got I got plenty of brain space to answer some questions right now fire awaywhat don't you understand
[01:48:07] in BetaFlight that you wish you understood how about that there we go this is the testing that's going to go down tomorrow put all these batteries in here while I'm at it this will
[01:48:19] be nice I'll just take this whole big bag with me although actually I'm going to test this in front I'm not going to test this at at the other place I want to test this in a familiar
[01:48:32] spot which is the front of the house so all right there's that cool quad bod says what's up quad bod how you been homie he says those crash stats were 14 amps and 58,800 RPM in
[01:48:47] Discord General nonsense thank you brother 14 amps it's about right 14369 12 three and a three and a half roughly 3.3 amps per Channel That's not much that's why these 5 amp esc's survive those are
[01:49:08] those are powerful [@$#%] Motors and it's still only pulling three and a half amps per channel I'm trying to think if there's any other Motors I've been looking to kind of test 603s are
[01:49:22] sitting there should I do some more I think I should think I should do some more 603 testing not on this Frame though 603s are going to be better for a taller frame a frame where the
[01:49:40] ducts are higher I should say like the like the Mobula 6 2024 frame so I will save those if I had another set of 40,000 I would put them on test those I mean I'm pretty locked in on
[01:50:09] the on the 65mm whoop motor testing Jun Lo says is the HappyModel AIO one cross any good nope the USB port is way too long on the HappyModel cross and your batteries hit the USB port I don't understand
[01:50:32] what they're doing I do the the happy model frame has the battery really low so if you're going to do that you're going to have to run the HappyModel frame which is okay but
[01:50:45] don't do that the the Cockroach 1S frame is much better James Rey says have you noticed that the BetaFPV VTX screws VTX screw next to the 5vt causes it to ground out oh my God
[01:51:01] what what are we talking about we talking about the air 65 where the hell is oh I took it apart that's right I took the air 65 apart and what do you mean VTX screw
[01:51:16] what's that I'm assuming that you're talking about the a65 but it's got what did I do with it I put it in a little bit here it is no it isn't I'm selling a set of flywoo Robo 102 23,500 four that I have
[01:51:34] run but they're fine and then one fresh one in the case James R is talking about the 75 Pro oh I don't have the 75 Pro so I unfortunately I can't comment on that meteor 75 Pro I don't I
[01:51:49] don't know that rig but I mean if that's the case that's no good that's I'm shock that they wouldn't have noticed that though that's crazy oh right 0 802 25,000
[01:52:02] look at this fresh set of B by blades butterfly FPV just put out a very cool little video about his metor 75 ultra light Pro setup getting 8 minutes of over 8 minutes of runtime cruising around on 1S 550 MH batteries
[01:52:33] very very cool stuff it's unbelievable the kind of runtime we get on freestyle rigs when you stop hammering the hell out of them it's always super impressive like a like a 5-in freestyle
[01:52:46] rig carrying a GoPro around if you just relax you'll get like 10 minutes on the damn thing where like flying hard you'll get four or five it's really cool Nate Adam says what's your current
[01:53:01] favorite 75mm frame I really like the meteor 75 air I I've not had any issues with it the only problem is you can't run a fullsize AO it's hard to have a favorite of anything because
[01:53:15] like there's always something that sucks about everything so certain aios work with the meteor 75 airframe and I really I really dig it but they H they can't be a fullsize AO it has
[01:53:32] to be an AO where the flat side so the 2g4 doesn't work so a perfectly straight sided AO won't work in the meteor 75 airframe it has to have either cut down sides like
[01:53:47] this like HappyModel does or a full-blown cross style like like BetaFPV the Mobula 7 V4 frame is my favorite for everything that's what I'm about to put these motors into this
[01:54:09] Frame Works on everything but it's not as light as the 75 air frame I don't necessarily think it's as durable either but it's plenty durable so it's a great frame this is the
[01:54:23] old school HappyModel 65mm frame it's very lightweight but it's impossibly fragile so I just like throw them away I I put them in the giveaways and barely even talk about them because
[01:54:37] I don't really I mean if you absolutely need a frame they'll hold the motors but then they'll break Mike aen says you ever put a camera over by the Gat so we can see it go around the room
[01:54:50] every once in a while I point this camera towards the room there's not much to see though the the like if if the camera is wide enough to see the whole room the tiny whoop is is a one single Pixel
[01:55:04] the the they just move so fast if if you like everybody that has hung out here like Patrick Eva my dad while I've been flying pretty quickly they're like holy [@$#%] it's like it I can barely
[01:55:22] keep up with it with my eyeballs these powerful tiny whoops that are really lightweight they just accelerate so quick so there's there's not a whole lot to see to be really honest and then
[01:55:35] you know putting that through YouTube through a live stream in 1080 you just end up like kind of not seeing anything so but if you remind me when I'm flying I'll do it if you ask me for
[01:55:51] a third person view I'll take this one camera and point it towards the open room and you'll see what I mean it just the tiny whoop just goes in and out of frame just like whoop whoop gone
[01:56:01] so you'd have to come and be here with your nice wide eyeball field of view to be able to keep up with the damn thing Nate Adams says I keep breaking the top of the battery trays
[01:56:13] on the M 7v4 tired of swapping frames yep that's where I break them so what I've been doing which seems to work pretty decent is I prep the frame with some E6000 in there in those
[01:56:29] spots where it breaks I do the top and then I do the bottom as well and that seems to help but that's definitely a weak point on these frames for sure is that second set
[01:56:42] of little battery supports other than that though it's a great frame that's my one main complaint and that's why I say that it's not as durable as the as the meteor 75
[01:56:59] airframe so just never is everybody always asks what's the best and I always say there is no best there's just different and this is a perfect example of that like maybe there's a best
[01:57:16] for you but like you got to give me a lot of info in order for me to figure that out and typically I only have the time to do that like on a one-on-one call through my Fiverr linked over on SEF
[01:57:29] fpv.one throw it away in front of you guys but I'll put it in a giveaway someone will get a use out of it's a shame too cuz it's a cool blue color but it's junk it's just so fragile man
[01:57:59] we've the the durability of tiny whoop stuff has really come a long way over the last like I think probably about two years is really where we've seen and some of that has been just
[01:58:12] from the all up weights coming down quite a bit um but yes some of it is just from the manufacturers listening to us and seeing the failures and that's pretty cool I'm a big fan of that it is
[01:58:28] 901 my friends go get you some BO grinder I know for a fact that he's streaming tonight Andrew Taylor's question is going to be the last one of this live stream he was given some brand
[01:58:37] new brother hobby 1507 3100 KV Motors what sort of build would they be good for not sure if I'll keep or a give away 1507 Motors are really only going to work on like a drag race kind of build
[01:58:52] 1507 is a 2:1 height to width ratio that's a motor that's going to overheat very quickly so for like a drag race type build where you go Full Throttle for like a half a second the motor's
[01:59:05] overheat and then you come back down perfect um they're also a lightweight motor that's going to make a lot of power so again drag race builds on a c whoop they're going to overheat and
[01:59:15] you're going to sacrifice efficiency and then like so for example the avadas and that y' drop out out tumble out of the sky issue that's because the motors are too tall and not wide enough
[01:59:26] they're 1507 and so on a c whoop that's the type of behavior you're going to get when you need it most the motors are going to overheat and lose power on like a hardcore freestyle
[01:59:40] build you might be able to get away with them but the problem is going to be that they're 7 mm tall so they're going to be super fragile so for a freestyle build you're just going to break the
[01:59:48] [@$#%] out of those Motors so for me I would put them up on Facebook Marketplace try to get some money out of them and then spend that money on a properly sized motor for a cine whoop you want
[01:59:58] something like a 2004 214 2203 2204 something for freestyle reg it depends but 1507 is kind of like a cursed motor size unfortunately where it doesn't really do
[02:00:15] anything all that well it's just a bad ratio of height versus width at at minimum you want 3 to one if you look at 5in Motors that have had the most development by probably
[02:00:30] like I don't know 5-in motors have had more development than every single other size motor combined in FPV we see a 3:1 ratio 20 23 3:1 4:1 2207 2306 those are the hands down the
[02:00:49] two most popular motor sizes and they are 3:1 and 4:1 and there's no reason that a 3-in rig would be any different in terms of that ratio right we also see that ratio in tiny
[02:01:02] whoops 0702 246 3 and 1 half to 1 height to width 802 2468 4:1 right we see it all across FPV 3:1 4:1 if you want a motor that's a little bit lighter that makes a little bit more power
[02:01:22] 3:1 if you want a motor that's a little bit heavier still good for freestyle but it's going to stay cooler 4 to1 if you want a cine whoop motor 5 to1 or 6 to1 so it stays cool all the
[02:01:32] time also a cop motor is smaller and it's picking up a heavier weight so you need it to be wider to cook off all that extra heat that you're putting through it makes sense great question
[02:01:43] thanks for hanging friends my name is Aaron cotti everybody calls me Ciotti head on over to Ciotti fv.com click all the buttons and I'll keep doing this with you guys forever be good bye-bye I'm not
[02:01:53] ready go get you some bot grinder my friends tell him I sent you tell him Ciotti says hello love that guy byebye see you Sunday at 3 n a
[02:03:21] a n
