[00:01:47]   know it's a little bit different than what I normally do right we spend all of our time diving a thousand miles deep into these like Ultra customized absolute best performance possible

[00:01:58]   builds it's easy to kind of forget that we started all everybody's got to start somewhere in in FPV right and it's a good thing to attract more people to it right more of our

[00:02:13]   friends more of our family also so my dance instructor and really good friend Wilder took his own life last week and it's been a bit of a roller coaster

[00:02:32]   last night was the was like the memorial and one of the things I loved most about Wilder is that he had so his dance class was the one on Sunday nights that I would go

[00:02:47]   to so 3: to 5 Eastern Time 3:00 to 5:00 I would stream sometimes it would go a little bit later no worries we would get there at 7:00 the dance this is the very first thing I ever did

[00:02:59]   January of this year Maggie saw a Facebook ad for local dance classes at the at the brewery where we first met sowore and we've been going all year and this is this he's who introduced me

[00:03:12]   to like West Coast Swing which is what Maggie and I do tonight actually Wednesday nights but it all started with with Wilder's class it all started with a super beginner focused class and

[00:03:25]   he kept the class beginner focused the entire time time and what's interesting is like as you get better you you kind of move away from that a little bit right you find like more specific stuff

[00:03:39]   you find different people to watch but what a goddamn gift it was that he we actually we did keep going we we didn't go every single week like we did for probably like the first six months

[00:03:54]    we would go like every other week it was like less we were going to have fun and to kind of practice we weren't like learning new things because every week it was very beginner focused

[00:04:09]    and I didn't realize how cool that was it's made for an environment that was like super super chill and super welcoming and there was Zero judgment like of like oh I I don't want to right you

[00:04:31]   don't do things because you're afraid of looking to some extent you're afraid of looking like an not everybody but a lot of people right and FPV is so cool right and so

[00:04:46]   like anything that we can do to kind of attract beginners to it what a nice thing to do and so I'm going to Wilder's class really opened my eyes to that and I'm sad that it

[00:04:58]   took this long to kind of to realize that but I'm trying to take as many lessons and as many good things forward from his life that I possibly can and I think this is one of them

[00:05:10]   and so what a what a cool what a cool opportunity to check these out these new Firefly hingi Firefly and Firefly ex as well as the controller and the and their goggles what a cool you

[00:05:23]   know way to do that interesting timing these these just showed up like a week ago and so that's what we're going to do tonight we're going to open these up I figure that I I was

[00:05:38]   like when they first got here I I I I was like kid on Christmas morning I was like oh I want to open them up and I'll and I'll charge them ahead of time and I'll get them all ready for the live

[00:05:46]   stream and then I emailed back and forth with them and they said Hold on hold on the the the release date is like next week or whatever it was this last release date was I guess like

[00:05:57]   about a week ago right around the time that unfortunately uh we lost Wilder and so my life has been just completely upside down since then and but I'm finally feeling better

[00:06:10]   today so and it was perfect because today's whoop Wednesday and so what a what a cool opportunity shout out to hising thank you very very cool I figured I would give you guys like the

[00:06:20]   Christmas morning experience I stopped myself and I was like wait no the people that are going to buy these are going to want to take them out of the box and fly them right away they're not going to

[00:06:30]   want to screw on with pit tuning they're not going to want to screw around with charging batteries they're going to want to just fly them that's The Beginner's Market Christmas morning kind

[00:06:38]   of stuff and so I stopped myself and I said all right in theory they'll probably charge up quick enough we've got two hours let's just go from dead ass scratch I cut through the so the

[00:06:51]   only thing I did is I cut through the tape so I don't have to actually cut the tape but I have not opened these also it's super weird to see drones in retail packaging like for me drones come in in

[00:07:09]   basically in prop bags right those are stamps everything that I buy in FPV comes in like no retail packaging at all and so I don't know I just thought it would be full of Whimsy

[00:07:22]   to approach this again as sort of like Christmas morning look what's look what's possible we can we can they can build boxes for our goggles and for our transmitters and and

[00:07:39]   things and so I don't know I thought that might be cool hopefully if someone else thinks that's cool if not that's okay I'm fine this is as much about me as it is about you

[00:07:50]   there's the regular Firefly and so we're going to learn about these things tonight we're going to see are these the best are these the best well we're certainly not going to find out if

[00:08:00]   they're the best because I haven't tried any of any other beginner stuff what we're going to find out is is this a decent way to kind of get started in the hobby but more importantly will they rip

[00:08:16]   should we do should should will they rip or will it rip or I we have to dial in on the name but should that be like a thing that we do should that be a thing where

[00:08:31]   we get like weird weird builds or like beginner builds or like not stuff that I've spent a 100 hours r& ding the perfect setup of motors and props and antennas and all up weight and frames

[00:08:45]   and all that stuff should should we start should we have like a weekly or bi-weekly thing or something where it's like we take something weird and see how hard you can fly it that's a

[00:08:56]   very that's something that a good YouTuber would do right so I guess I shouldn't do it that's like a that's a shower thought right there that's what I should do right would it would I have a

[00:09:15]   weird audience though would you guys watch that or do you have no interest in that are are you way more into it's a it's a it's an interesting balance doing this thing on YouTube of like you do

[00:09:26]   have to attract some new people but in my opinion it's really not in my opinion but for me it's really important to attract the right people I don't want to just attract a ton of people

[00:09:40]    because that introduces a lot of dicks to be quite honest with you and so but it does help to attract new people and to build things up a little bit and so should that be a thing

[00:21:21]   103s that kind of stuff if you run a 2mm tall motor like a 102 or an 1102 which make tons of power for this this new magical 2S 75 build that we're doing the tips of the propellers hit the

[00:21:36]   supports in the in the ducts when you when you Turtle mode and it mangles the out of the propellers so the air 65 and air 75 frames have been coming with these little spacers little

[00:21:52]   1.25mm motor spacers that if you run that spacer in here with M1 4x4 longer tiny whoop motor screws which most of you aren't going to have I have no idea why I have these M1 4x4 screws but I've

[00:26:32]   they don't float they don't uh carry as much momentum through the air so I really don't have a favorite I I I enjoy flying the higher power heavier rigs with a lot of times by blades I

[00:26:46]   enjoy flying the lighter rigs it's luckily tiny whoops are relatively inexpensive so you can build two you can build an 18 G Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoop with

[00:26:57]   36,000 or 40,000 KV Motors and then you can build an ultr light like air 65 air 65 Champion mobula 6 2024 rig and build them with lower power motors to be super lightweight and super reactive

[00:27:13]   or you can build a wormhole whoop and build the super lightweight rig with 40,000 KV Motors so I hate to like not answer that question but I I really I truly don't have a a

[00:27:25]   favorite at the moment Tim says which 75mm frame works best when using two ons batteries I don't think any of them do I don't think any of them really I I was

[00:27:43]   thinking about doing that to go 2S but then I just I don't know of any frames that'll really allow you to do it I mean you can you can just cram two 1S batteries into a frame and hope for the best

[00:27:58]    but none of them are really set up for it although I just did the I just did this on the mobul 7 V4 frame and that's not bad those are actually staying in there pretty good gray hat

[00:28:13]   says is a 3D whoop possible it might not be because the 3D props when you spin props backwards they they only make onethird of the thrust and whoops don't make that much power so you would have

[00:28:25]   to do like 40,000 KV Motors and it would be it would be tough man they actually they fit in there totally fine so this is a mbula 7 V4 frame with the extra supports cut out

[00:28:41]    when you do that and if you were to do this you would have to run the beta AO that does not have the USB port sticking out the bottom although I mean I'm willing to bet that you can

[00:28:55]   just also cram them into the V oh no okay so no they won't work I I think I tried this in the mobio 7 V3 frame and I was like nah that won't work they just fall right out of there and I mean

[00:29:10]   you could like you could shim them up with some tape or something you could make it work it almost fits in there the the sort of the problem is they're not wide enough they're

[00:29:21]   they're like a little bit taller but they're not quite wide enough so they're going to they have the potential to like see that you don't necessarily want that so you would really want to figure out a

[00:29:29]   way to shim them up and get them tight in the in the battery Bay on the the only frame that I've done that with is the frame that's designed to do that which is the Newbie

[00:29:42]   drone cockroach 75 the old school one although the new school one probably has it as well it comes with a carbon fiber brace and these little TPU pieces and if I hold it just right you can kind

[00:29:53]   of see the TPU pieces allow you to run one battery on top here and then one battery down in there in like the Valley of the frame you see it right down in that little Valley there so this

[00:30:05]   Frame is specifically designed for it and they they fit perfectly in there they don't fall out they don't rattle around but unfortunately the the old version of this cockroach 75 frame was

[00:30:17]   very brittle this this Frame material was super brittle you can almost hear it right the acrob blv five that newbie drone just put out comes with a new version of this Frame that is a much

[00:30:34]   better plastic and so this Frame is kind of maybe sort of viable what I don't like about it is the is the the carbon fiber brace which you have to run so I won't be going down that road I don't

[00:30:48]   think maybe but it's not like it's not like on the top of the list but what is cool is it allows you to run an AIO that does have a regular USB port so the new if you can get your hands on the

[00:31:04]   new version of the Cockroach 75 frame from newbie drone it is specifically set up to do that which is a really cool setup because you just use all your same batteries that you've already got from

[00:31:15]   your 65mm rig so pretty slick setup all that being said I believe the tiny whoop 2S 300 Mah batteries are lighter than double 1S bt1 BT 2.0 well I just realized that's annoying

[00:31:37]   bt2.0 is 1S BT 3.0 is 2S it should be BT 1.0 and BT 2.0 1S and 2S two of these weighs 16.7 G one of these amazing little tiny whoop 300s so 16.7

[00:32:03]   versus 15.08 yep so you're saving almost two grams by running the the awesome little tiny whoop batteries and it allows you to buy another new connector with the BT 3.0 which is kind

[00:32:16]   of annoying that's the other cool thing about the double 1S Battery setup is that you don't have to go down the BT 3.0 Rabbit Hole so you could absolutely

[00:32:28]   make you could absolutely make these two batteries fit into the mobula 7 V3 and V4 frames you would just have to do a little bit of little bit of something little bit of something

[00:32:41]   something fits really good if I I'm really shocked at how well it fit in this Frame this is the V4 frame with the upper battery supports removed gry hat says toss and fly

[00:34:00]   that extra power you motor limit's down you're good to go you almost certainly will feel a difference the BetaFPV 27000 will probably feel very similar to the HappyModel 32,000

[00:34:12]   screamers so go for the higher KV always guys always go for the if you're trying to pick between two Motors always go with the one that's higher KV and then you can Moto limit's down

[00:34:24]   not necessarily the one that's bigger Stater volum volume just the one that's higher KV you always want more KV than you need so that you can use the motor limiting it's such an amazing

[00:34:36]   Tool Preston roach says preferable motor limit on 75mm 2S with 102 20,000 KV start low start at 60% and fly it and see how it is you can change it in the OSD so put it always put your motor

[00:34:52]   limiting super low also because it's a great it's a great opport opportunity to fly something with like no power and that that's a good mental practice the less power a rig has the better the

[00:35:05]   throttle resolution so by always like motor limiting really low it gives you a chance to fly something that's super underpowered and just kind of like reset your barometer a little bit we we have

[00:35:16]   like power creep like we keep building with more and more and more power it's easy to get like lost in that it's good to hit the reset button from time to time and fly something with no power

[00:35:29]    and that's going to make you fly differently it's going to make you do tricks differently I I hope we see that tonight I I'm going to try to rip these really hard and we'll see

[00:35:39]   It'll be super cool I'm sure they'll be underpowered because they're brushed but let's see how we can how far we can push something that is a little bit heavier and doesn't have a lot of

[01:19:42]   the controller the controller must be in the off State all right so let's turn it off hold down the function key L1 which is is up here in the corner says L1 on it so hold that down and long

[01:19:59]   press the power button this will put it into binding mode that's not too bad you're never going to figure that out on your own though oh this is in bind mode now and this came out of bind mode I'll bet so

[01:27:57]   that's very cool hover is the basis of all flight Maneuvers okay that's a okay I'm down with that that's a cool way to get people started like look you need to learn to hover
