[00:02:24] hey friends my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me Ciotti Welcome to Hell welcome to whoop Wednesday we are going to have a frame Showdown a 655mm frame
[00:02:44] Showdown for those of you that watched last Wednesday where I took the wandering whoop from Tiny whoop.com and fixed all the all the weird nonsense that was on BetaFlight
[00:03:01] updated BetaFlight set it up from scratch and did a pretty pretty locked in pretty dialed pretty kind of like beginning to end pit tune on it without blackbox because this
[00:03:21] mobula 6 2024 AIO doesn't have blackbox you will probably remember that we couldn't get it I couldn't get it quite where I wanted it in terms of the tune we got it pretty good certainly a lot better
[00:03:38] than it was when it showed up but it just it wasn't quite there and so I the the the wandering whoop travels around to different folks and the deal is you make one change
[00:03:52] you make one major change to it my change was to put the ort micro antenna on it I talked to Jesse and I I kind of explained the antenna I explained the about the tuning and
[00:04:05] whatnot and I told himthe the what I basically said is like I wish that I could have I would rather have changed the frame because all the LEDs are blown out on it
[00:04:19] and I think the frame is what's kind of holding the tune back and I said instead I just did the antenna and it's great and he's actually going to start carrying these micro
[00:04:30] antennas on Tiny woop.com so we'll have three places we can get them from at the moment race sck well at the moment there are three places me my Etsy store although actually no I went out of stock
[00:04:41] I have a I have 50 more on order from uh ort but right now today you can get these amazing little antennas from race day quads and wee bed pretty soon they'll be on tiny whoop as well
[00:04:58] and I will have 50 more to sell on my Etsy store the ones that I sell are a little bit different they're a little bit shorter the normal ones are made in 50 60 and 70 mm mine are 46 not much of a
[00:05:13] difference but just enough the 50mm ones on certain canopies like the old school mbula 6 canopy 50 mm is just barely long enough for the head of the antenna every once in a while to get
[00:05:27] jammed in between the propeller and the duct it's not a big deal but it just sort of annoyed me I messaged orc ort I saiddo you sell to smaller folks and they've been super cool and they're
[00:05:40] they've been making them for me 46 instead of 50 which is like perfect in talking to Jesse when I when I told him the LEDs were all blown out he's like dude just swap the frame it's
[00:05:52] all good uh and I explained that I'll probably do that tonight and he was he was totally down which is really really cool I've in the past I have experimented with all of the
[00:06:06] 60 mm frames it's been a while though it was like early 2024 and basically what I found is that the Cockroach 65 V3 is the best sort of mix of lightweight damps vibration so you
[00:06:26] can push the tune farther and durability I don't necessarily know if I ever took the the mobul 6 2024 frame is one of the ones that I tested oh also the really cool thing about the Cockroach frames is
[00:06:43] that the the ducts are not as deep and so the propeller on on HappyModel motors which are a little bit shorter the propeller tracks around the inside of the duct properly on all of
[00:06:59] the other frames mob 6 2024 BetaFPV air 65 Frame the old medeor 65 Frame the Weeble Crown frame these ducts are deeper and so with the shorter HappyModel
[00:07:17] Motors the tip of the propeller is actually under the duct as you can see in this current setup here why does that work why does smacking Electronics work so often see how the propeller is under
[00:07:41] the duct there versus versus this is a cockroach V3 frame see how the propeller is tracking in the middle of the duct there that matters I don't know if that matters
[00:08:03] from like an efficiency standpoint it actually should because the duct one of the cool things about ducts is that and the reason why like edfs and ducted rigs can be more efficient well
[00:08:16] edfs are definitely more efficient but ducted rigs can be more efficient is that as the propeller comes around you've got a high in a low pressure Zone where those low pressure zones meet is
[00:08:27] out on the end of the propeller at the end into the blade and then they create a little Vortex and they just it's just garbage they they just create turbulence out here you take a duct and you put
[00:08:37] that right up against that the the tip of that propeller and it's going to isolate that high and low pressure Zone to some extent to really get efficiency and extra thrust you have to have like
[00:08:49] it's something crazy like 02 of a millimeter or something like the Gap has to be absolutely tiny but I have to assume that there's some bit of efficiency if even if it's not you know
[00:09:01] even if it's not super super super tight there but here's the other thing the more important thing for me is that when the propeller slides like this and you smash into something the duct pushes
[00:09:13] into the tip of the propeller and a lot of times it just keeps going if the tip of the propeller is under here and you smash into something the duct goes up over the propeller and then the
[00:09:24] propeller slams into the standoff the support that does two things it stalls the motor out so you crash 100% of the time when that happens cuz it falls out of the air but it also bangs up the tip
[00:09:36] of the propellers you can actually tell if your props are sliding properly on the like I mean you can just look at it but you can also tell by looking at after a bunch of crashes looking at the
[00:09:49] the the leading edge of your props and if you've got these like dents and these digs in the leading edge of your props that's what's going on it's hitting the they're hitting the
[00:10:01] standoffs I I don't have any examples of that because I match I match the height of the motor up with the frame that I run BetaFPV has sent me a few of these air
[00:10:17] 65s this is the race they've sent me one of the champion editions and on these I don't I mean I Chang the frames when they when the air so these come with the air 65 frames I change them
[00:10:30] when they break which happens pretty quick for me unfortunately but I don't change these frames out because the BetaFPV Motors are actually taller and so with the BetaFPV Motors you don't have
[00:10:45] to do that this is also the case with VCI Motors and I think with RC and power motor I don't have to think I can tell you for sure because we did a spreadsheet live stream where I measured
[00:10:59] the heights of a whole bunch of the motors and that spreadsheet is that spreadsheet is linked over on my Discord SE fpv.one FPV weight where is
[00:11:35] that here we go motor Heights so RC in power oh no look at that what oh no okay RC and power is lower RC and power motors are 8.1 millim tall the HappyModel 0
[00:11:55] 72s RC and power 0 72s are 8.1 HappyModel 0 72s are eight so the RC and power motors you're going to actually want to put in the Newbie drone frames the ba just as a point of
[00:12:09] reference the BetaFPV 0 72s are8 and a half the Newbie drone Motors are 8.6 where I mean that's really kind of it I guess I didn't have any VCI Motors to measure I don't have any of
[00:12:23] the VCI 0702 left but I remember when I ran VCI Motors that they were the same height as the BetaFPV Motors so there you go what does that mean oh oh oh right right somebody added a couple
[00:12:44] columns and I was I was misunderstanding The Columns so sorry for anyone wearing headphones you're now dead you have been killed to death my apologies so that's the deal we're
[00:13:02] going to swap the wandering whoop over to a cockroach 65 V3 frame I'm going to leave the tune exactly where it's at we're actually going to fly a battery or two maybe I should crank the tune up a
[00:13:19] little bit actually because I backed the tune off to a point where it's like flyable but not the best I'm going to push the tune a little bit we'll fly a battery with the
[00:13:41] tune where it's at I will push the tune farther to the point where it's kind of obnoxious but it's going to eat more of the prop wash and then we'll swap the frame and
[00:13:58] we'll leave the tune alone we'll we'll leave the overactive PID tune on there and then we'll swap the frame and we'll see if it's better or the same or worse and then we will have done toune
[00:14:14] Wars no frame Wars 2025 is everybody excited you better be excited I've got 4 300 MH batteries and two 260 MH batteries on the charger # six batteries is our quest to all
[00:14:33] fly better if you fly six batteries a day every single day you will be a significantly better pilot week over week over week that kind of consistency is what really makes you a
[00:14:47] better pilot and getting to the point where like you're a properly Good Pilot there's a special kind of magic in FPV when you're not thinking about flying you're not thinking about moves you're
[00:15:00] able to just comfortably rip hard that is it's hard to get there this is like you got to go thousands of batteries deep to get to this point but it is really it's worth it is is what I'm
[00:15:18] trying to say here it is absolutely worth it's is very difficult to get to that point tiny whoops have afforded us it's hard it's hard for a couple of reasons it's expensive cuz you
[00:15:29] break a lot of stuff flying outside and it's very timec consuming tiny whoops have given us the opportunity to get to that point inside the house to fly every single day regardless of the
[00:15:43] weather and to do it ex extremely inexpensively tiny whooping inside the house is also very very difficult so you're Swinging with a weighted bat which if you hit the consistency like
[00:15:57] this and if you do six batteries a day every single day like yes it's going to be a little bit frustrating cuz it is very difficult but it's going to make that it's going
[00:16:08] to make that Improvement happen even faster right like if you do something that's really really difficult and you stick with it you're going to get really good faster than someone that kind of
[00:16:19] phones it in and just takes it easy and does something that's a lot simpler what I mean when you push yourself close to your limit or even slightly beyond your limit that's
[00:16:29] where you learn the fastest and so tiny whooping six batteries a day is GNA improve you as a pilot more than you can possibly imagine the simulator is fantastic as well don't get me wrong
[00:16:42] but man have I become a better pilot doing a lot of tiny whoop flying over the last two years I've been through a lot of different phases of improving as a pilot over the last eight plus
[00:16:56] years first couple of years was a lot of micro stuff back when the gear kind of sucked to be honest and the gear really held me back and then for so that was like years one and two years
[00:17:12] three and four for me were 5 in almost almost only 5 in again back then the micro gear sucked and there was you could not get a power train that made enough power to really practice the off
[00:17:27] throttle momentum moves and the three-dimensional moves and so I moved over to 5-in rigs which were the way to do that and flying 5-in rigs is great and it'll it's also
[00:17:41] makes you get over like the fear and the anxiety because it's sketchy and it's dangerous and it's loud and it's gnarly and it can hurt somebody or you or whatever
[00:17:51] but the big thing is that it gives you that full three-dimensional flight experience right there's so much power there's so much weight that you can literally do things at the time that you
[00:18:03] couldn't do with any micros as the the micro power trains got better the next like two or so years were a lot of like it was a mix of 5 in flying 3in flying and that's also when I started to
[00:18:20] work professional gigs that's around the time that I went full-time with this and so C whooping came into the mix so object driven flying and I really fell in love with that and now
[00:18:33] for these most recent two years it's been still a lot of that but loads of tiny whooping and with 0 72s with brushless motors on Tiny whoops and then with 0 72s and then with
[00:18:51] high RPM high KV 72s yeah it is the it at this point you can do everything with a tiny whoop that you can with a 5-in rig or whatever it's just more difficult inside everything is
[00:19:08] compressed and you don't have 200 ft to do a whatever a juicy flick or name your silly FPV trick here you have to speed up you have to work harder you have to use like you
[00:19:27] have to go really low to the ground ground and then like Full Throttle all the way up to the ceiling and damn near scrape the ceiling to have enough time to do these more complicated moves
[00:19:36] where you're doing like multiple stick inputs but it absolutely can be done you just have to put the time in and luckily putting the time in is pretty fun cuz you're flying right we
[00:19:47] talk about putting the work in with FPV it's the work is incredibly enjoyable there will be days that you you're just like I'm too busy to fly I
[00:19:59] don't want to fly that's fine but if you can push yourself through that the consistency flying six batteries a day flying 20 25 30 minutes a day that's how to do it that you
[00:20:11] that's there was when I decided I think like two to three years in when I decided that on the so we have all these things in FPV that that that you sort of prioritize your social
[00:20:26] media presence your flying your tuning your building your right all these specific things when I decided that I wanted sort of the top priority to be flying and getting good as a
[00:20:39] pilot I would basically not spend less than 30 minutes a day every single day in the simulator and that consistency and that amount of time that was it that's really what did it
[00:20:53] for me that that's what took me from like a beginner pilot to a decent pilot to a good pilot to a great pilot and so being able to do that and I mean the simulator is great don't get me
[00:21:07] wrong but I think that tiny whooping is better I think that it's I could totally be wrong about that it's tough they they're both very valuable and you should do both of them
[00:21:27] but I have a funny feeling that tiny whooping might actually be better because it's real it's real physics that you're that you're playing with veloc is damn good but it's
[00:21:40] still a racing Sim right it's got sort of the best physics I think still that are available to us but it's still at its heart a racing Sim it's not a full-blown freestyle
[00:21:53] Sim so it's interesting you you should be doing both but here's here's the thing for me when I stopped using the simulator when I would go out and fly 5 in or 3 in or
[00:22:09] whatever and I would have to spend like 15 minutes adjusting I would get I would put all this time into the simulator and then I would like my my my muscle memory would really lock in on
[00:22:22] the Sim physics and then when I was in the real physics in the world of real physics it seemed like it was a lot harder to adjust what it might be is that with tiny whoops it's very obviously a whole
[00:22:36] different kind of thing and not only that but I the other thing I think is that with tiny whoops you have to learn to be quicker and it's more difficult right like the simulator is is actually
[00:22:50] less difficult than flying in real life because it's because there's no there's no consequences right you don't break anything you don't hurt anybody it and so there's no there's no skin in the
[00:23:03] game there's no anxiety tiny whooping is difficult there's not necessarily any anxiety but everything is close together and everything is is smaller and you have to be faster and so what I've found
[00:23:15] with doing tons of tiny whooping is when I go out when I fly outside basically it feels it's in slow motion I feel like I have all this extra time to do moves that that's
[00:23:28] one of the things that it was one of the hardest things for me to teach back in Motorsport days when I when I was an instructor like I would have to tell the the newer students like look your brain
[00:23:40] is used to you driving in traffic and you passing cars with like a 5 or 10 mph difference in closing speed and so that's where your brain is at your brain is used to obstacles coming nice and
[00:23:54] slowly past your car well now you're out here on the race R track and for autocross for example we've got cones whizzing by the car at 40 50 60 70 mph sometimes on on the bigger layouts that
[00:24:08] we would do and so you need to retrain your brain to work faster and so I would do things like I would tell them like when they're driving to work and whatnot to like pick up and and
[00:24:21] like lock their eyes on things in the road that are then whizzing by at full speed not cars that are that are coming by slowly but like the reflectors in the road a dead animal signs on the road
[00:24:34] [@$#%] right [@$#%] that's going to come by at 50 60 miles an hour to just get their brain used and what I would tell them is basically like lock your eyes on one of those things and
[00:24:43] then as soon as it gets as soon as it goes past you find another one as quickly as you can and it's just training your brain to work faster right like and that would actually make a
[00:24:54] huge difference like I would have students that would I would be able to tell that they would they were doing that during the week between our bi-weekly events on the weekends
[00:25:04] and so I think that's kind of what happens with tiny whooping right it's just everything H everything happens quicker it's literally you're you're training you're Swinging with a
[00:25:16] weighted bat you're you're working on something that's a that's more difficult and then when you go to fly outside and all the gaps are bigger and you've got hundreds of feet of
[00:25:26] verticality to play with it's just like oh [@$#%] this is no big deal a 5-in rig has a lot of float it's feels it's coming down out of the sky forever when you blip the throttle
[00:25:36] too much so that's the six batteries my friends doubles FPV was first in chat chonan was next James Thomas render hockey rounds bird person FPV nitrous chimp I think
[00:25:50] it's nitrous chimp might just be NX chimp it's nitrous chimp now MC bucus Brandon make beans Islander FPV stick flick FPV flight Flight Risk that's a good one neof flow eat your
[00:26:05] veg Greg Torres real one 661 FPV off axis Scotty Scott Dave S super 62 Ry bre render hockey rounds yasur what's up everybody YouTube did the thing but that's
[00:26:20] okay type farts in the chat if you're listening if you want to talk to me direct all you got to do is type SE PV it'll light up an orange for me like render did he said why you got to say
[00:26:32] it se FV what did I say wait a second what's happening with the chat wny is the oh because I started late never mind Greg Torres says how do you feel about the crown the weeed crown
[00:26:47] frame I love the little points on it's makes it sit up a little higher off the floor to give you a better chance of flipping back over the main problem with the crown frame is that it's based
[00:27:01] on the meteor the old school meteor 65 Frame for a long time the that meteor 65 Frame was the best and the the crown frame is a bit of an improvement on it by removing a couple of the standoffs so
[00:27:18] it's lighter than it which is great but it's just it's based on an older frame design it was like the the the the timeline of these frames was meteor 65 then wee bed Crown then air
[00:27:37] 65 then cockroach 65 V3 then HappyModel mobu 6 2024 then light AF L AF and the as with most things especially in FPV as time goes on improvements are made the
[00:28:03] Cockroach 65 V3 is Magic for a bunch of different reasons that we're going to talk about I was hoping that the mobio 6 2024 frame was going to be better than it was it's not bad by any
[00:28:15] stretch but I was hoping since it came out after these all these other frames that it would they would have learned from all the lessons from these other ones and come out with the god
[00:28:26] frame it's a really good frame don't get me wrong but I don't think it's as good as the Cockroach 65 V3 what I can say about it is it's hysterically durable I don't I've never heard of
[00:28:40] anybody breaking one of these mobul 6 2024 frames have you guys have any of you guys broken one of these so for durability it's great the the main problem with it is what I showed you
[00:28:50] earlier is that the tip of the propeller the the duct is too deep and so the tip of the propeller rolls underneath the duct and that really sucks like when when if you buy a mobul 6 2024 and you
[00:29:05] fly 100 batteries and then you switch to the Cockroach 65 V3 all of a sudden you'll notice I'm that you're able to bounce off things you're able to like smack into the wall and just bounce off
[00:29:19] and keep flying versus with these frames with the Deep ducts every time you hit something hard enough to push the frame up over the tip of the propeller it stalls the propeller out and falls out
[00:29:32] of the air it's a it's really noticeable and so as much as I love the durability I mean the Cockroach 65 V3 is is also outrageously durable both great frames in my
[00:29:50] opinion these are the two best frames that there are for 65mm Rigs and if I'm ever doing a build that's got the taller Motors like BetaFPV or VCI I'm going to use this Frame right here I don't
[00:30:04] really run either one of those Motors though I pretty much run exclusively HappyModel Motors and so all my builds are on the Cockroach 65 V3 frame so there you go the crown is a
[00:30:18] perfectly good frame but it's just it's a little bit older I love that there's so many colors of them if you're building a rig to look super cool it's going to be on a Crown frame that's for
[00:30:28] sure I have all the colors actually up here they've got the full rainbow and then it's super cool they've got the that like if you well I have
[00:30:44] the this is every single color of crown frame and it perfectly Works through the rainbow red orange yellow green blue violet and then there's two extra colors three extra colors there's clear and
[00:31:00] then there's light pink and light blue so it's I find it absolutely hysterical that with the crown frames I can do the LGBT rainbow and then the the trans colors it's just perfect and
[00:31:12] so I have them all stacked up here which just makes me extra happy so if you're going to make a rig that looks super cool it's going to be on the crown frame and if you're
[00:31:27] running BetaFPV or VCI Motors it's going to be great arguably better than the air 65 Frame because this Frame is just so fragile the crown frame is going to be more durable than the air 65
[00:31:41] Frame but all that being said the mobile 6 2024 frame would is another small step up from there so the crown frame is is totally fine and the coolest looking of the frame
[00:31:58] but the mob 6 2024 frame is it just outperforms it a little bit and it's just cuz it's newer what's really frustrating is that this Frame is made by HappyModel happy model made a frame
[00:32:13] that with their own Motors the props slide under the ducts which is just the most frustrating thing ever like the mobula or the the HappyModel frame only really works well on non-happy model
[00:32:30] motors which is just like wait what and it's just that they didn't realize it like this depth of these ducts this is the standard depth that everybody has used right it's what beta used on the
[00:32:47] meteor 65 and the air 65 newbie drone just happened to realize likewe can we can save a little bit of plastic and save a little bit of weight by shortening this up what's
[00:33:00] super funny is that the Newbie drone Motors run perfectly in the in the deeper ducts they also work in the in the Cockroach 65 Frame but the Newbie drone Motors are not short like the
[00:33:15] HappyModel Motors and yet their frame so we've got HappyModel who designs a frame that's too deep for their Motors and then we've got newbie drone that designs a frame that absolutely works
[00:33:26] with their Motors but ALS Al works even better with HappyModel Motors I just find it to be hysterical that that's how it worked out and I I don't I've never heard anyone else talk
[00:33:38] about it so I'm pretty sure that just nobody realized it and I'm pretty sure that newbie drone shortened this distance up because they were trying to save weight and that's pretty cool
[00:33:49] the taller Motors will absolutely work great in these newbie drone frames instead of the like so when you look at the Newbie drone frame the
[00:34:05] propeller is towards the bottom it's above the bottom but it's still like towards the bottom there you see what I mean so if if you imagine that moving up by a half of a millimeter it's
[00:34:19] kind of perfectly centered in the duct and so when you run the newbon motors or the BetaFPV Motors or VCI Motors the propeller actually runs perfectly centered in the duct and it's really
[00:34:30] really nice but it that doesn't really matter as long as it as long as it runs around the duct like this rather than that where it's below the duct you're golden make
[00:34:48] sense you guys picking up what I'm laying down super 62 says what do you think of whoops with inverted Motors like the sub 250 they are only for cinematic work and what cinematic work are you really
[00:35:06] going to do with a tiny whoop when you invert the motors the propeller is now like a millimeter off the ground so if you crash that thing anywhere that's not a completely flat surface like a
[00:35:19] hardwood floor or asphalt or something you're taking the Walk of Shame and God forbid you crash it out I mean it's just super annoying the The Pusher rigs are
[00:35:32] incredibly annoying to live with apparently there's some efficiency that comes from that Pusher design but like I crash and when I can just Turtle mode back over and fly
[00:35:47] away that's amazing and when you get used to that when you get used to the ability to Turtle mode back over and take back off and then you start flying a pusher rig
[00:36:00] it's just obnoxious and it's just super frustrating and it just sticks out like a sore thumb and you're just likeI'm not even going to fly this thing hard because I'm so tired of having to take
[00:36:10] the Walk of Shame over and over again and then like if you're going to back way off and not fly very hard like that's not much fun a big part of the fun to FPV for me is that you can
[00:36:24] push beyond your limits you can like do sketchy [@$#%] and it's like what are you gonna break a motor a propeller a frame it like whatever break it's so cool that we can repair these things
[00:36:36] inside we're not out in the garage punching metal and we're not strapped into the thing slamming into concrete barriers right like there's all these really cool little things about
[00:36:50] FPV that that come from being able to crash them Lally if you're not crashing you're not flying hard enough fly harder they're incredibly durable and they're incredibly cheap and
[00:37:05] easy to fix and if you want to get better one of the best ways to get better is to crash more because when you're crashing you're pushing your limits and when you push your limits you
[00:37:16] learn where those limits are and then that's the way to get a little bit past them if you're back way off you don't know where that limit is and so you're only going to get like a little tiny bit
[00:37:26] better at a time and it's going to take you forever to get like really really really good if you want to get really really good you got to have you got to kind of have a lack of resp a lack
[00:37:37] of mechanical sympathy is is what we used to call it in the in the world of Motorsports chonan says gonna try light AF as well or just V3 just the V3 I have moved builds from the V3 over
[00:37:57] to the light AF enough times to know that the light AF frame is not as good at isolating vibrations it's also not nearly as durable it is shockingly durable it is actually a lot more
[00:38:16] durable unbelievably than the air 65 Frame I I I feel like every time that I run one of these air 65 frames I'm just blown away by how quickly they break I have broken some light AF frames as well
[00:38:33] but they have held up way better than the air 65 frames there's there's something about the geometry of this air 65 Frame that you'll get this crease Mark right back here you'll get it on
[00:38:47] all four corners but like if this the the the middle is here it's happens like right here it's where this well it's where this crease is this this br broke in a different spot they also
[00:38:58] break here but right where this crease is here there's something about the geometry of these frames where when you start cracking crashing them they crease the plastic right there and it
[00:39:12] doesn't last very long and it breaks in that one spot it's and that because of that whatever weirdness there is in the geometry of this the air 65 frames are not all that durable the light AF frames
[00:39:27] I've broken four of them I think every single one has broken in a different spot and that's what I want because that means that there's not one weak point right it's breaking like wherever it takes the
[00:39:42] biggest hit I slam it Full Throttle into the hardwood upstairs and it hits on the left side kind of towards the bottom and then it'll and then it breaks like here and then another time
[00:39:54] it breaks out here and it and so the air 65 Frame it just has it seems to have this weird spot where all of the energy kind of dumps and crashes and they tends to break in that same
[00:40:07] spot over and over and over again the light a I I've had a b pretty much every build that I've that's had a pretty aggressive pit tune that I've moved from the V3 to the light AF frame I've had to
[00:40:21] back the tune off just a little bit the V the the the Cockroach 65 V3 frame is it's just the perfect mix it's super durable it's as lightweight when when you factor in the fact that it uses the
[00:40:38] shorter screws because the motor mount pads are thinner it ends up being I believe the exact same weight as the the air 65 Frame and or the mobula 6 2024 frame we'll check that tonight we'll
[00:40:53] waigh I'm going to weigh this right now no it's not a fair comparison I can I can do it though I have a set of the screws we'll do it right now yeah we'll weigh all three
[00:41:08] right now actually because I have everything I need to do that I have an air 65 Frame sitting here I have the hardware that I need if you're new around here basically the the Cockroach 65 frames
[00:41:24] the light AF and the V3 they have a thinner motor mount pad and so they give you much shorter metal screws to run and it makes a significant difference in the
[00:41:39] weight okay so there are 12 of the regular screws that you have to run on all the other frames other than the Newbie drone ones I need a set of the of the Newbie drone screws where the hell are
[00:42:00] they damn it all right I'm GNA have to get out the little kit here if you're silly you can run plastic screws in your tiny whoop I don't recommend it when they break and they
[00:42:21] will break it is a total pain in the ass to dig him out of there to dig him out of the the motor base God forbid like you take your tiny whoop somewhere and it
[00:42:34] happens which was kind of the last straw for me I was chasing the RC drift car guys and the one rig that I really wanted to fly that happened and I didn't have the
[00:42:51] right screwdriver to it was just a nightmare it really sucked usually you're flying tiny whoops at home so it's whatever but it's just it's just annoying there are not Peak
[00:43:05] screws in this extra short length so I mean you could argue that like you can make up this weight difference with the screws by using Peak PE K it's just a type of plastic screws on the heavier
[00:43:21] frames but don't do that it's just it's just an annoyance all right so there's a full set of the extra short tiny whoop screws if you're going to do that use two plastic screws
[00:43:37] on the inside and one metal screw on the outside the outside metal screw is the one that takes the majority of the abuse and so that'll help a ton all right so the Cockroach 65
[00:43:53] V3 with the short screws somebody typed this in chat for me is halfway to hell it's 3.33 G the mobula 6 2024 frame with the appropriate metal screws is 3.31 so it's the same
[00:44:28] so 3.31 and then the air 65 Frame with the appropriate metal screws is 3.23 so it doesn't matter that that this scale is not accurate enough that is within the within the realm of you
[00:44:48] know pretend like I said the right word right now I can't think of it so these all weigh exactly the same but in my experience the Cockroach 65 Frame is significantly more durable the V3 and
[00:45:03] then if you want the ultimate lightweight setup it's the light AF frame the the light AF frame is the lightest way to go and it's pretty durable like I said I've found it to be
[00:45:13] a lot more durable than the air 65 frames and so the lightest weight with decent durability that's pretty good but it will break you will break it for sure and I I just find it to be
[00:45:28] super annoying when a when a frame breaks because then you got to take all the motors off you got to it's just it's just obnoxious here is the one main drawback of the Cockroach frames
[00:45:42] especially the light AF frame if you're going to run HappyModel Motors these holes that clear the oh and I actually have to drill this one out these holes for the center of the motor
[00:45:58] the motor shaft with the c clip they're a little bit too small what you're going to want to do is get a 564 it says it on the bit somewhere hold
[00:46:16] on y no is that 964th 964 I got to make that face when I when I hold that in my eyeball 964 drill bit and you got to just drill the the center holes and the frame out a little bit you don't need a
[00:46:37] you don't need an actual drill you can very easily do it by hand just like this this is this is a fresh one that has not been drilled when you're doing it put the drill bit like like angle
[00:46:48] the drill bit like drill it straight but then angle it like this it'll take some extra plastic off and it's just right I guess you could go up to one size bigger but if you just angle it around
[00:46:59] like this it takes off the perfect amount and then you're good to go the light the the V3 frame here sometimes you don't have to do this but you should anyway the light AF frame you have to do
[00:47:12] this there is no getting around it the light AF frame these holes are significantly smaller if you run any other motor than HappyModel you're totally fine HappyModel uses a slightly
[00:47:23] bigger C clip on their Motors to torture us I guess but it's no big deal you just watched me do it and we're good to go 964th I don't know what that is in intelligent units also known as metric
[00:47:47] units we use them cheeseburger hot dog units here 964 the [@$#%] what kind of an [@$#%] that thought that was a good idea our kind of [@$#%] that's who all right so there we go the one
[00:48:13] thing you want to pay attention to is just take a quick look at where at the top of the motor mount pads after you do that and make sure there's not like a big chunk of plastic sticking up
[00:48:24] if there is push it down just go in there you'll see you'll see what I mean you don't want a piece of plastic pushing up into the into the C clip and so just I just like take my
[00:48:37] fingernail up here and just make sure but it's you can see it you'll be able to see if it's sticking up doesn't matter if it's sticking down
[00:48:47] below it's just you don't want anything sticking up you just clean it up a little bit's probably a better way probably like a if you get like a reamer drill B that' probably be even
[00:48:58] better sure you could use a Dremel but that's a little bit sketchy as far as I'm concerned you don't want to take too much plastic off down here because then you could make it a
[00:49:11] little bit too weak I've never had it break down here though but you'll get it's no big deal just work your way around and that's it good to go once you put the motors on if there's something
[00:49:27] touching the C clip you'll know it it'll be very very obvious cool we good let me get caught up on the chat a little bit more render says I think I've put over 100 hours into the Sim and it may me
[00:49:45] understand how to reverse and trippy for grinding its valuable I think you have to just you have to just fly it's true you really do like there are I've I've worked with so over
[00:49:58] on C fpv.one on-one half an hour or hour long long sessions on Flight Training or build planning or teaching people how to tune or just if you have a whole bunch of questions and you want someone who's
[00:50:18] been paying attention for over eight years to answer them so that you get good info instead of the trash info on Facebook groups and Reddit when I do Flight Training in the
[00:50:29] simulator there I've had students who have gotten like hysterically good in the Sim and then they go out and fly for real and they're and they'll come back to me and they're like dude I can't
[00:50:41] do [@$#%] when I go out and fly for real like what's going on like I'm in here ripping in the Sim and it's like I mean it's for a bunch of different reasons but I mean the main reason is
[00:50:53] that when you're out flying for real there's something on the line like if you're flying a 5-in rig you could hurt somebody or at the very least like you got money up in the
[00:51:03] air and that's real right like when you're in the Sim your brain doesn't have to deal with that it can just focus on Stick inputs and kind of moving around so you really do have
[00:51:15] to just fly with tiny whoops they're so durable that like there's not a whole lot of that it's not that anxiety inducing but it's still there like you're still lying for real and you
[00:51:28] still don't you don't want to hit your dog in the face you don't want to hit your your partner in the face you don't want to like so there's there's some skin in the game when you're flying
[00:51:37] tiny whoops the simulator is super interesting it's very valuable don't get me wrong especially like trying to learn tricks the simulator is
[00:51:47] amazing cuz you just go in there and just push the sticks in all different directions and see what happens and eventually you're like oh [@$#%] that's how you do it a tail in orbit or oh [@$#%]
[00:51:58] that's how you do X Y or Z move so the Sim is great it is an incredibly valuable tool but I agree 100% you just got to go out and fly if you want to get good at flying for real
[00:52:11] you got to go out and fly for real oh that hurt Denzel the turble says was something just beeping at se fp's house or am I losing my mind trying to find it here I didn't hear anything
[00:52:27] Ray says heyo sir good evening hope you're doing well this fine night no I'm just kidding Danel there was nothing beeping here hold on I I didn't realize that YouTube scrolled me to the bottom for
[00:52:39] no reason tonian says have you tried un crashed since December update physics feel pretty good no I stopped like every once in a while when we do a Sim Sunday I'll jump into the
[00:52:55] Sim but that's it there was a point four or five years in I I think it was where I realized that spending time in the simulator made me fly worse it was around the time that I
[00:53:11] realized how important it was to have one 5in setup and one 3-in setup and not have like all different rigs all different Motors all different props all different frames and I got really
[00:53:26] good on a 5-in Glide and I got really good on a 3-in rip squeak and then I noticed that when I would also spend time in the simulator when I would go to fly for real I would spend like half my
[00:53:38] session adjusting and I stopped using the SIM for a while and I noticed that if I'd been flying a bunch of 5-in batteries on a Monday and then I went back out on a Wednesday like first
[00:53:50] battery like half that battery was just getting back into it and then I would rip by the end of that first battery and I would have so I would have a much better session in doing that so I I
[00:54:01] really just stopped using the simulator at that point like I said a minute ago I think the Sim is is fantastic for like learning moves and stuff but like
[00:54:13] eventually you sort of achieve this cool Nirvana where you can just look at a move and you just instantly know exactly how it's done like you've pushed pitch forward so many times you've pulled
[00:54:27] pitch back so many times you've rolled right so many times that just the way that the camera moves instantly is in your brain you just know it you just like you can almost watch somebody else
[00:54:39] fly and as they're flying like imitate their stick movements it's pretty slick it took a long time for that to happen though that that's like thousands and thousands of batteries in
[00:54:49] and so if if there's I mean I don't think we're ever gonna have like a new trick again FPV has been around long enough and we only really have three axises that are used in tricks right the
[00:55:04] throttle doesn't really count because it just makes you go up or down but like if there ever is a new trick if like the first time that I see it I'll just be like oh cool I try that
[00:55:16] real quick and then I'll just be able to like go do it that's a cool thing that happens after a long long time it's does take a long time for that to happen admittedly
[00:55:27] but so I I just I don't use the Sim anymore The Sims are also amazing for racing they are phenomenal for racing but for freestyle and for like cinematic stuff I don't really
[00:55:41] know once you've been once you've been so far down the rabbit hole that like you just have this weird sixth sense of what the stick movements kind of do I also don't think un crash is Mac
[00:55:56] compatible I could totally be wrong about that but um if it is Mac compatible maybe I'll try it on a on a Sim Sunday never know Moss one says what's up buddy and
[00:56:12] everyone Striker says going to build a 2 and a half inch 2S open prop on BT 3.0 like a tiny Hawk 2 freestyle but higher KV very cool asking for Thoughts by blades Tri
[00:56:29] blades prop recommendations I don't know I don't I don't fly that kind of rig so but there's only going to be like three or four different propeller options so as I always say
[00:56:39] just get them all and figure it out for yourself everybody crashes different everybody has a different all up weight so even if I did have a favorite it wouldn't necessarily be the
[00:56:50] best for you so spend the the 20 or so dollars that it'll take to buy all of the different options and just start running them and it's also one of the it's also a really good learning
[00:57:03] experience propellers are the thing that kind of makes the one of the biggest differences in Flight feel so I always recommend that folks get a bunch of the different props that make
[00:57:16] the most sense for the the kind of flying that they're doing for the rig that they're building and practice swapping the propellers and trying to feel the difference between them
[00:57:27] cuz it's a lot there's there's a lot of different there's a lot of differences between props what the prop weighs the pitch how well balanced it is how durable it is just the blade
[00:57:39] profile itself like different blade profiles will be faster or slower more grippy or less grippy uh looser or tighter that kind of stuff there there's a lot of subtlety there and so
[00:57:54] everybody is going to have their own sort of favorite prop that that fits their needs the best I'm putting these screws into the into the Cockroach V3 frame right
[00:58:05] now it takes a minute Striker also says also what battery would you use on something do you think the 300 would be too small not really sure again I haven't built one of those rigs so I
[00:58:21] don't know I mean the the 300s aren't in stock anyway so you can't can't you can't find out my random guess would be a 450 but that that's a pretty random guess there aren't a lot of battery
[00:58:35] options we do have a 350 Mah emac 2S but you're going to have to uh take this stupid ph2.0 lead off and this balance lead and hand solder on a BT 3.0 which is kind of going to be a nightmare
[00:58:52] so you don't have a lot of options you've got the tiny whoop 34 50 and then you've got the BetaFPV 450 so you'll probably end up buying one of each anyway so uh the BetaFPV 450
[00:59:06] is the heaviest but it has the nice plastic cap to prevent it from ejecting but you pay for that in what it weighs Striker also says I think cut down Peak or any screws are worth it for
[00:59:26] super light builds like sub 15 GS light they do make a difference but boy is it annoying to run them most people will do it for a couple of weeks and then they'll get tired of the
[00:59:40] screw heads stripping out and or breaking off and then they'll go back to metal screws so that's that was exactly my experience with them is that yeah they just kept breaking
[00:59:53] off and I was just what this is not worth it flyborg FPV says just getting here is this the build you were waiting on parts for what's the flight controller nope this is the
[01:00:02] wandering whoop that we worked on last Wednesday and I was not able to get the the pit tune quite where I want it and I think that's because of this Frame and we're going to find that out for
[01:00:16] sure tonight if you want to rewind back to the beginning of the stream I gave the whole kind of story Kevin Smith says measure it measure what 1101 12 minutes ago he said measure it
[01:00:30] H I think maybe he was talking about the weight Sher says to be honest I found most of my problems with Sim to in real life translation was that I was flying oh was what I was flying I was
[01:00:45] simming with 5 in in flying whoops once I flew 5 in in real life I was able to do everything it is important to fly the same thing in the Sim that you're flying in for Real the veloc
[01:00:56] and devs did a fantastic job making the different crafts that you fly feel real so if you're going to fly a toothpick in real life pick the toothpick in velocidrone for
[01:01:10] example at the same all Striker also says at the same all up weight as in the Sim flew almost the same as velocit drone F like I was flying Sim especially first time HD analog
[01:01:24] Denzel the turble says tail in orbit equals trippy spin yes I'm not going to say that next part or that next part I will say you love trippy spins but it's not true Denzel the terrible says
[01:01:35] SE FV thinks he's a good pilot but in reality he can't do trippy spins so he's not that good I'll do trippy spins all day I just choose not to because they look like
[01:01:44] [@$#%] strager says that was something I wasn't expecting digital gave me so much confidence that I felt like I was in the Sim it was so much fun I've been saving for a DJI ever since I
[01:01:55] have the opposite I I actually fly worse in digital I've always assumed because of the latency it could be because I've flown thousands and thousands of batteries on analog and
[01:02:08] I I especially freestyle I've probably only flown a few hundred batteries on digital but there's there's a lot of different there's a lot of things that affect your comfort level
[01:02:21] bur upshot says he thinks he's on oh god all right let's get this Frame swap going what time is it oh my God it's after 11 o'clock already I did get started a little bit late wait wait hold
[01:02:32] on actually I don't know why the beginning of that didn't play that was kind of obnoxious I got a box from 533 and the thing that I'm most excited about is this right here I am so excited
[01:02:54] to put these on the h HD Z goggles if you go to 533 website they have a picture of this this is one of the coolest things ever I've always thought that the that the HD zero goggles are
[01:03:07] pretty ugly you'll see what I mean actually I'm going to go to the I'm going to go to the website real quick look at this so just the shape of the of the hd0 goggles did I say 533 goggles a
[01:03:23] second ago I think I might have the shape of the HD zero goggles I've always thought is just kind of ugly could just be me hold on it doesn't help that they're like
[01:03:45] big but I don't know just the shape of them it just looks super uh uh nerdy why are they not on the website now they they it used to be hold on is it in
[01:04:02] the thing here I bet you it went out of stock I bet you they went out of stock and they pulled them off the off the homepage how the how do I find them let's search for
[01:04:18] hd0 there we go come on now come on now tell me that's not the coolest [@$#%] you've ever seen tell me that doesn't take the ugliest goggle and make it the coolest goggle like the the the weird
[01:04:39] like boxy blocky shape of the HD zero goggles work perfectly with this old school NES thing right cuz the old school NES was all blocky in the same wayI'm noticing this now it
[01:04:55] looks like I'm going to have some some bubbling I'm kind of tempted to bring this to a 3D not 3D a one of these companies that does wraps on cars and I can probably just throw
[01:05:12] somebody like 10 bucks to really quickly like properly wrap this and get the get the corners all all perfect because like the guy behind the counter can probably do it a thousand
[01:05:24] times better than me but I I'm so excited to put this on like like come on look look look look at this look it I mean like I tried to cover it up a little bit by putting the stickers on it
[01:05:38] but like there's that right like like look how cool that looks and then it's got like like like the dark gray down here which like makes it look skinnier and like
[01:05:55] and then like look when it's on your face it's like like we look dumb as it is but like this is the noise that that this looks like and I've got like what's what's a nice thing is like the red you know
[01:06:16] like the the HD zero entertainment system in red will match the get some true RC antennas on there like they've got is that the that's is that the right sound tell me I nailed
[01:06:30] the sound effect for what the HD zero goggles look like without this skin I also got they they were doing a little sale on these really cool little 2S Barrel plug 2500 Mah
[01:06:44] batteries so I snagged two more of these I think I have five total now I love these they're nice and lightweight put them on the side of your head no extra wires they've got this little
[01:06:56] cell cheer built into them just a little PCB there yeah I love these things they last like just the right amount of time I got to get them charged up though and then I got one more 533 2207
[01:07:13] motor I'm going to put one of the 5- in rigs onto the 533 227s because these are the lightest weight 2207 I've always stayed away from 227s because they're usually they're
[01:07:30] 2 to three gr heavier than 236s and I've never really needed or wanted the extra power that you get from 227s versus 2306 a few months ago somebody pointed out that the the 533 are as light as 2306 is
[01:07:48] and I said okay cool I love the idea of the the 2207 is a more narrow motor and so the response and it's a taller motor and so the response time is better so I'm going to motor limit these
[01:08:03] down because I don't want all the power that they give but I'll be able to get better response time than from my t-motor F40 Pro 4S and we'll see I'm super interested to see what the
[01:08:18] extra response time we'll get me I have a feeling that it doesn't it's not going to get me much because like with 5in rigs we have a lot of adjustability in the pids and I'm always I'm always able
[01:08:29] to push the pids far enough to the point where the propwash goes away and so at that point like you don't necessarily need a mechanical system that has better response time and to be
[01:08:45] honest if your mechanical system has better response time you're like for example if I take one of these rigs on the F40 Pro 4S and I switch it over to these motors I'm probably going to have
[01:08:57] to pull the pids down because the response time is going to get too quick and it's going to start overcorrecting like the the the mechanical system and the pids work
[01:09:11] together it's not like an either or thing and so I'm actually really excited to try that out but we'll see I've heard great things about these motors too
[01:09:27] so there's that which is cool I have sick of crap James Thomas says HD Z's our Bender class at best looks Bender [Laughter] class sick burn Bender class that's a that's [@$#%] great that's a I've
[01:09:59] not heard that one before that's a good one here's a box from HappyModel I didn't think that this would show up this quick because of Chinese New Year they must
[01:10:08] have I don't know they must have gotten this out before Chinese New Year I think because my BetaFPV order that I placed before I talked to HappyModel about this I don't even think I have
[01:10:21] a tracking number for it yet Islander FPV says you should theme a whoop to match your NES HD Zer goggles and run the Mario startup sounds in blue J I always stick I always stay away
[01:10:33] from the startup tones because you hear them over and over and over again and when when I hear something over and over and over again I get sick of it I used to have the Imperial March
[01:10:47] as my startup tones back in the the old old old days and that's exactly what happened I just got I got kind of burned out on The Imperial March and I've never gone back
[01:11:03] since I couldn't believe how I asked Jason to send this he was like cool and I also asked him to send a couple extra canopies so I officially have no excuse to not get 04 up in
[01:11:21] the air huge thank you to HappyModel for shooting this all over this is the mbula 704 uh carrying setup here I think it's on the bigger it's a it's a funny kind of naming
[01:11:41] convention right so they're calling it mobula 704 but it's actually a different frame it's a bigger frame it's a it's a it's like a 75 Pro frame oops
[01:11:57] see the difference in the size of the duct probably not now you can probably still can't it's for the 45mm propellers I'm not I'm not nearly as interested in this
[01:12:11] though as I am in these canopies I am going to I I am going to run this and we'll see what's up with the the mobul 704 but the the main thing that I the main reason then I asked Jason I was
[01:12:25] like man I I I really want to try out your canopies I am also interested in the mobula 7 and he's like no problem at all I'll send you over one I was like wow very cool so
[01:12:38] this is the new frame these are the new Motors these are 1102 10,000 KV Motors so what I'll do is I'll drop the 04 on here throw the canopy on there and I'll fly it on
[01:12:53] 1s oh my God this is set up for for 2S that's right that's right that's right that's right that's right even better even better xt3 2S oh I don't have any batteries that
[01:13:06] are on xt30 is oh okay that's what I'll do with that's what I'll do with these batteries here you go what batteries fit in the mobul 704 frame the new frame the 350 mAh emac battery fits in
[01:13:28] there the 300 Mah gnb 2S fits in there that's a little tight but that does go the 350 Mah gnb 2S also fits in there so I will take all three of these batteries and I'm just going to swap
[01:13:47] over these silly ph2.0 leads to xt30 and then these will be the batteries for this Abul 804 frame AIO setup and then I'm going to steal the 04 off of I'm going to fly this a good
[01:14:05] amount but then I am going to steal the 04 this will be really nice actually this is going to be a really cool comparison of 45 mm props on 2S 75 rig versus regular 40 mm 1.6 in props on
[01:14:24] like my IDE deal or whatever setup the only thing that's going to throw that comparison off a little bit is going to be xt30 versus BT 3.0 but it'll be all right xt30 is
[01:14:42] not that much heavier so this will be rad I I okay oh now I knew that this was 2S that's right I knew that this was 2S I was a little bit bummed out that the motors this is what it was are only
[01:14:57] 10,000 KV but they 10,000 KV Motors on the 45 mm propellers so it's could be interesting this is really cool huge shout out to Jason from HappyModel for making this happen and sending this
[01:15:15] over this Frame is is actually really Stout this is a brand new frame for them they've never done a frame for 45mm propellers it feels really strong which could be good it could mean that it's brittle and
[01:15:30] it's going to crack I'm probably not going to fly this on a really cold day but 04 content coming I've got a pair of goggles that I'm borrowing and now I've got some canopies so
[01:15:47] depending on how tomorrow goes maybe we'll start doing 04 stuff this Friday no promises but I've got some [@$#%] that I need to do I need to swap these batteries over
[01:16:04] just for the sake of well this battery doesn't even have a lead on it but a ain't going to fit now this is this weird g&b 420 battery that only has a balance lead on it there's a perfect
[01:16:14] use for that battery I just haven't found it yet I forgot to hit the charge button on the charger what a dummy luckily five of the batteries on that charger were already
[01:16:31] charged look at this man very very cool damn dude HappyModel got this to me quick HappyModel be taking care of me they know what's up man they make some good
[01:16:47] stuff their Motors are just absolutely magic or if you're a quad 66 fan fan trash magic as he hysterically calls them all right that's all good to go let's actually fly this let me get
[01:17:05] caught up on chat first Capital C says do anyone who has used the BDI analog adapter for the DJI V2s loads of people they all hate them I have an extra pair of V2s
[01:17:20] Gathering dust I thought it would be cool to turn turn The matalog everybody complains about the main complaints complaint I believe is latency there are certainly people in
[01:17:32] the chat though that have that set up and can tell you about it I've never actually used it danilla turbo says why don't you swap the whoop to bt3 instead you have way more of those batteries
[01:17:42] I actually only have four of the BT 3.0 batteries and I'm just desperate to do something with these three I really want to test these three batteries and just like getting these onto BT
[01:17:57] 3.0 is super annoying and because like somebody last live stream two people last live stream were saying that I can't just use the be the the balance leads to go to a BT 3.0 and so that
[01:18:10] means that I got to use like two of these leads and then the middle and it just seems like a total pain in the ass I'm much more interested in leaving these and going xt30 on these and
[01:18:23] it's not like I said it's not that much of a weight penalty may I the right thing to do would be to move everything to BT 3.0 but what fun is it to do the right thing when you
[01:18:36] can do the wrong thing right let's fly the wandering whoop as it is because two of these batteries will surely say okay I'm fully charged while I'm putting the goggles on my head right
[01:18:57] damn it this one is sitting solidly at 4.35 it doesn't say okay but it's not saying 4.34 4.35 it's just sitting there at 4.35 so this is pretty much fully charged so this is where the
[01:19:16] wandering whoop is at right now from a tune perspective after about 45 minutes of tuning on wed last Wednesday's live stream and then towards the end of this battery I'm going to crank the tune
[01:19:37] up a little bit more which will be cool because it'll be another opportunity to kind of show you guys what overtuned is with this battery fully charged this thing is going to be
[01:19:49] a little bit overtuned I I want you guys to just listen I'm actually going to point this microphone to the open room area and I just want you to
[01:19:59] listen overtuned you can always hear ready well well that was in Horizon mode so the pit Loop wasn't even running this is not overtuned right now this is this is
[01:20:26] that right there did you see that see a little bit of prop wash there this tune is pretty goddamn good but o but it is on the limit's is absolutely on the
[01:20:52] limit see that prop wash there okay did you hear all right hold on did you hear when I made that when I made that right turn how the motors didn't wind down that's another example
[01:21:08] of it being a little bit overtuned this is pretty good I I I backed this tune off quite a bit to get it to the point where cuz I I I thought I was done with it and I didn't
[01:21:26] want to send it out with like a super Razor's Edge tune now we're going to push it that's probably enough to get it to really start acting up you hear
[01:21:46] it hear it did you hear it there you hear it on that turn just now on that turn it went like it I was at zero throttle and the the pit Loop was freaking out I was in the throttle on that
[01:22:17] turn I'm going to push it a bunch more I really did back it off and you can see it's still prop washing I'm going to push it a lot back off buddy that was
[01:22:40] it hear it's flying away on its own this is all the way overtuned hear it I think I just hit the dogs flying away hear it there it is flying away there it was
[01:23:18] again there it was again there it's doing it good good bad good good bad good bad it should drop it should drop RPMs it's really difficult for me to hold on let me fix the mic it's
[01:23:44] really difficult for me to show you to get this across to you guys because you're not on the sticks with me it's very obvious for me because when I blast the throttle and then chop it down
[01:23:59] to zero either the motors instantly come down or they don't and when they don't that's the overtune scenario and what you're listening for is that like it should
[01:24:13] be right that that's why I tried to say like good bad good bad cuz I was doing this on the throttle I was just banging the throttle full and then all the way back down to zero and when you've got
[01:24:25] a rig that's getting close to being overtuned it'll do that every once in a while it'll also do the weird thing when you're in a turn zero throttle it'll like it will not ramp the motors down
[01:24:37] that's one of the earliest indications that you're overtuned is that there are situations where you zero the throttle and if you can hear the rig you will not hear it drop the revs all the way down
[01:24:51] and this thing is doing it pretty bad right now in this frame in this Frame and so now we're going to take it out of this Frame dump it into a cockroach V3 frame and we'll see if the situation
[01:25:02] gets better or worse I'm not totally sure that it's going to get better I've not specifically done this before and so we're going to figure this [@$#%] out together I'm actually
[01:25:14] going to need to turn the soldering iron on because I need to desolder these admittedly very cool frame LEDs but unfortunately they've all broken the the first couple of folks
[01:25:30] that had this wandering whoop appear to have broken three out of four of the of the the LEDs that have been custom installed on this Frame which is a it's a shame but like you
[01:25:48] know I've had I've resisted putting those frame LEDs on because I assumed that this would be the case I assumed that I would break them and I'm glad that I I'm glad I'm glad
[01:26:04] that I was so for once my laziness has paid off and it saved me from the pain that is spending all that time installing them and getting them all perfect and then just crashing a bunch
[01:26:16] and having them explode so finally a situation where laziness saves me I guess all right so we're going to reframe this it looks like I'm going to have to pull the props off it does not
[01:26:33] look like I can get this motor to go through this hole in the frame with the propeller on which is kind of annoying but whatever Den zela turble says see second half of flyborg comment
[01:26:56] above flyborg says do you mind if I show her your footage from castle crash last here I mainly play five in and have barely any experience in whoops leaning towards the event being sub 250 rigs
[01:27:09] I don't mind if if any of you guys show anyone any of my footage it's all out there for everybody yeah you guys never ever ever have to ask permission anything that I put public
[01:27:23] onto my YouTube channel is is fair game before before I I make anything public I have a moment where I think to myself what if the FAA sees this and if I then choose to put it as
[01:27:39] public I'm okay with the with the FAA seeing it and ain't nobody as bad as the FAA when it comes to seeing our footage we don't have to we don't have to fear anyone
[01:27:52] other than the FAA I guess I should say I actually have to I don't have to but I'm going to screw this motor back down in order to get this prop off I don't want to rip this since these
[01:28:02] motors are direct soldered and I really am not interested in fixing any of those solder joints I don't want to yank on this motor when I'm trying to remove this
[01:28:13] propeller so bolt it back on here and there we go all right and I got a I remember this thing oh I did change it to props in very cool come on you I think I
[01:28:35] remember one of these propellers oh boy that was ugly I don't like when that happens that was the propeller that I put on here that I didn't drill out quite enough and now it just got mixed
[01:28:46] up in the other propellers so oh well this is the tiny whoop clone Pro clone popper this is my favorite of all of the prop pullers the Little Forks here are super skinny just don't just
[01:29:02] understand that these are skinny it makes it easier for you to get them under the propeller but don't go cranking on this thing if you've got a propeller that's really stuck this is
[01:29:10] not the right prop puller to use and you will absolutely break these I've already broken one of them as have many others the other prop poppers have much thicker Forks on them which makes
[01:29:27] them harder to get under in between the motor and the propeller but they're a lot stronger if you have a really stubborn prop my recommendation is that you get two of them you get the Clone
[01:29:38] popper and then you also get the the version one tiny whoop prop popper and you get the little custom FPV designed case that hold holds the version one prop popper and a bunch of
[01:29:56] propellers you'll see it on Tiny whoops website just search search for custom FPV all of his really cool little cases will come up and then you'll see his little propeller prop popper case it's
[01:30:08] awesome and then you keep that you bring that with you in your flight gear so you have a popper and some extra propellers and then you put the the Clone popper on your
[01:30:22] desk and yeah away you go you always have one with you all right almost done with the motor screws cool we've got four here so the wandering whoop is going to quad 66 after me and I am super excited
[01:30:49] I'm hoping that he will put his very cool camera mount on this thing as his change to it but I'm also just super excited to see him fly a build that's very similar to my Ultimate Freestyle
[01:31:08] builds so that's going to be really cool I'm really excited for him to get this and fly it around I think he is the perfect guy to spend a couple of weeks with the with the wandering whoop
[01:31:23] all right so let me just really quickly desolder these very cool LEDs I was hoping that would pop right off of there but no such luck all right so I got to get on here
[01:31:41] and give this a little bit of force all right cool and I think it's also hooked up to the positive battery lead oh it's actually both oh no no no that was the negative battery I thought
[01:32:01] that was the think it's also hooked up to a buzzer pad maybe not but here it is hooked up to the positive battery lead let me see if I can get this off without melting the
[01:32:16] [@$#%] out of this canopy or anything else for that matter all right I got to put the I got to put the nerd goggles on hold on all right here we go now I can see what I'm
[01:32:47] doing get this out of the way this is kind of the other reason that I never put these on I just I knew it would be awful fiddly work to get these things in here it's not too
[01:32:59] bad though I think that's it I think that should free him up right yep okay cool so now I just got to get this up over this antenna this is the elrs antenna and let's see if I can get
[01:33:30] this out of here I might have to cut these might have to cut the LED wires but I'm hoping I can just kind of sneak it around the bend here let's see so if I pull these all the way off
[01:33:47] to the side maybe I can just oh no no no I know what I'm going to do I'm going to slide the whole thing sideways all right so yeah yeah all right so I pop it up and now I can I
[01:34:03] think I can slide this sideways there we go there we go all right cool push the motors through here when you're doing this like at this point be Ultra Gentle the
[01:34:19] especially if the motors are direct soldered it is so easy to break one of these I it's not the end of the world but when the motor leads get short it can be really annoying
[01:34:32] because the once the motor leads get too short you have to replace it at the motor and it just creates a bunch of work that that you don't need to do and so when you're at this point
[01:34:46] just be ultra Ultra Ultra Gentle with it take a look at these motor leads just to make sure none of them are like about to break off they look
[01:35:01] okay they'll be fine oh he had it okay I see he had it soldered up to the buzzer plus and minus pad okay I thought it was piggybacked on the on the battery leads oh God this
[01:35:14] one battery lead solder joint is gross it's the ground lead though h it's ugly but it's it'll be okay all right this is fine let's get this over
[01:35:33] into the Cockroach 65 Frame and so I'm gonna put this through here so since I put these screws into this already I'm G to hold this Frame upside down and do this kind of weird but just
[01:35:47] take my word for it this is the easiest way of doing it right now since I kind of pre-loaded this thing with screws all right so let's get that going oh I can kick this soldering
[01:36:03] iron off now and take off the nerd goggles that's nice all right so these two Motors go up through there oh boy this is annoying doing it this way hold
[01:36:20] on hold it up here like this and let's just get in here okay that's the move tweezers are always the answerthat's what she said hopefully not for your sake get in there here we
[01:36:45] go all right so there's one there motor screws all over the damn place here comes another one I put this thing down on the desk and the the
[01:37:03] motors the magnets and the bells of the motors pulled the the motor screws off the desk there we go right there's two and W this is a terrible way of doing this but if I flip this Frame upside
[01:37:22] down all these screws screws are going to fall out and have to get them back in there which will drive me insane all right so this is fine we're good we got there all right let's see if I can I've
[01:37:31] never done it upside down like this this is absolutely ridiculous okay get these grommets lined up and start pushing them down there we go awesome all right cool
[01:37:56] Motors let's get you in your little homes I like to twist the motors up just a little bit to keep these wires together oh the wires are a little short I'm gonna have to take a twist out for
[01:38:17] this to reach twisting the motors up also reduces a little bit of uh air turbulence rushing past the the motor wires it looks really cool to have the the three motor wires just go directly
[01:38:37] from the pads to the motor but it actually does add a significant amount of extra little bit of resistance I've never really tested that but I mean it's a real thing you all right buddy
[01:38:49] dog's over there sneezing his head off what's up buddy boy hanging out with Daddy just waiting for me over there on the couch he just he just patiently Waits over on the couch
[01:38:59] where hey lays on my legs after the live streams I'll either go over there with my laptop or sometimes I'm just burned at the end of these streams I just go over there
[01:39:11] and get on Daisy for an hour or two or get some youtubing in he just lays on my legs man he loves it good little dog right little buddy some ni he insane though my
[01:39:28] God I got to take a twist out of these that's interesting it's almost like this Frame is putting the motors out a little bit farther I I'm pretty sure that's not true
[01:39:38] but maybe they were just really tight on the other frame you don't want the the motor leads to be super tight on these keep in mind that when you crash this plastic frame is going to bend and so if
[01:39:51] the if your your motor leads are really tight between the motor and the AO you're going to rip them off if it's you if it's direct soldered it's going to break that lead if it's plugged in I've
[01:40:05] found the the motor plugs to be really strong at the plug but the the if if you've got a setup that's direct soldered be careful make sure there's enough extra lead here so that when
[01:40:18] this Frame bends during crashes it's not yanking on those Direct solded joints cuz they've been real fragile for me even when I redo them and get them like absolutely beautiful they
[01:40:34] just do not last all right two Motors are on two to go there we go and so what you do once you screw these motors down since you've drilled this Frame out just turn the bell of the
[01:40:54] motor and you'll feel it if it's dragging you'll at least one of them will be good usually like you'll put all four Motors on there'll be one that you turn by with your fingers and you're like
[01:41:07] that doesn't feel quite as free spinning as the others don't ignore that go go pop that motor off and redrill it out just clearance it a little bit more or or look for a little piece of plastic
[01:41:18] that has has gotten its way in to where the C clip is but it's pretty obvious also like as soon as you start flying it you'll notice it's yeah you'll see it'll happen to
[01:41:34] you at some point for sure if you run enough of these cockroach V3 Andor light AF frames on the next generation of these for the record newbie drone knows about this problem
[01:41:49] when when they sent me the the prototypes it was one of the first of feedback that I gave to them at that point like the mold was already made though and so next time if they
[01:42:01] have to make another mold for these frames or on whatever the next version of their frame is it will be it hopefully if they remember it'll be clearanced better and again it's just
[01:42:18] because it's one of these situations where one manufacturer they set the frame up to work totally fine with their Motors they use a smaller more flush C
[01:42:32] clip on their Motors what newbie drone did not do is go buy everybody else's Motors and make sure that it would work on everybody else's Motors this is something that happens all the goddamn
[01:42:44] time this is something that used to happen all the time in the world of Motorsports where it's like really expensive and it was just maddening the Maximum Motorsports K member
[01:42:55] wouldn't work with the Griggs racing a ARS or there was just all these situations where it would happen and you'd have spent like ,000 on something and then that happens and you're just
[01:43:07] like asked out like okay it's why a lot of people will like pick a manufacturer and run their entire setup because by doing that that whole setup is designed to work
[01:43:22] together like one manufacturer tightens up a tolerance in this direction because the OEM is over here and it's perfect well then the other another manufacturer tightens it up in this
[01:43:34] direction and you try to run these two pieces and they smash into each other and it makes you want to jump off the [@$#%] roof super annoying but with Motorsport like I kind
[01:43:51] of understand it a little bit more like I can't expect Maximum Motorsports to buy every single to buy every sta piece every Griggs piece every BBK piece to make sure that their [@$#%] works
[01:44:05] together right with with this stuff it's like come on dude like spend a 100 bucks and you can get one of every motor from every other manufacturer but it is what it is
[01:44:23] all right people let's get this canopy down we'll throw these extra two props on and we will see if the Newbie drone frame is in fact a little bit more resistant to
[01:44:37] vibrations than the mobula 6 2024 frame at the very least though even if it's not this thing will crash a little bit better because these propellers are now riding on the inside
[01:44:51] of these ducts better than they were before let me do this so I don't have to bend this quite as much so this is the elrs antenna that I'm running up through the the main hole in the frame just to
[01:45:03] kind of protect it a little bit not a big thing but just one of those little things right and this mobula 6 2024 banana hammock canopy is not as strong as not as durable as the beta
[01:45:31] fpv1 but it allow it has the screw holes in it so you can run the Run cam Nano 3 or the fxt camera that have the holes in the corners and so you don't have to deal with your camera rotating the mount
[01:45:48] which is kind of nice it does put the camera a little bit closer to the AO but there's still enough of a gap where you should not have a situation where the camera hits
[01:46:01] and blows up the aiio don't quote me on that though I have not run this mobul 6 2024 canopy banana hammock canopy extensively I will though at some point here on these BetaFPV rigs as I get
[01:46:18] more and more frustrated with the the beta banana hammocks there we go motor one and motor two cool make sure those are all the way down and so here's the other test I want
[01:46:48] you to listen I'm going to spin this with my finger right next to the microphone and I want you to listen ready I'm gonna do all four motor one motor
[01:47:12] two motor three motor four here's what I'm doing I'm spinning it like this that's the pace that I'm spinning it at can you hear that it's changes when I spin it around there's a point
[01:47:41] where the propeller hits against my my fingernail and it goes and then when it's pushing against the the fleshy part of my finger it's silent that's what you want to hear here that means that the
[01:47:54] motor is free spinning enough that the propeller as I'm pushing it the propeller is going into the Notch and then my finger is clicking against it into the next Notch clicking against it
[01:48:06] into the next Notch clicking against it and then it's on the fleshy part of my finger all the way around if you don't hear that if if one of these motors is bound up it won't move away from your
[01:48:17] fingernail into the notch into the Cog of the motor and you won't get that click sound right because it'll just be dragging and so it'll you won't get that it'll just
[01:48:29] be it'll just be silent right because it's dragging behind and when it gets to your fingernail it can't pull away from it to create that little that little sound anybody wearing headphones
[01:48:41] I'm sure could have heard it those of you not wearing headphones you probably couldn't hear it but that's what's going on that's one of the ways to test if the motor is free spinning enough which
[01:48:50] is important with these cockroach fres because you're going to have to drill them out cool I'm excited we did save a little bit of weight here too because we ditched the the LEDs I'm sad that we
[01:49:07] ditched the googly eyes I'm going to try to get these google eyes off 300 MH battery coming up let's see so remember this was overtuned this should either e be better or still
[01:49:24] overtuned we'll see if it's if it flies okay right now this tune will be perfect and it will just eat all the prop wash that antenna looks good that looks good this is still good up
[01:49:49] here okay away we go well once Els decides to there it is all right let's see what's upit nope it's actually worse this is a fully charged battery though let me it was
[01:50:15] the hold on let me get a battery that's not fully charged I I made that change to the tune when the battery was already down at like 3.8 375 375 and that actually does make a
[01:50:30] big difference let me let me put one of these on it and just see if it still runs away then it's actually it is worse because it wasn't running full-blown running away before
[01:50:43] let's see throw it down on the floor for this one all right so it's fine with a with a battery that's just discharged down and so I remember where the tune was the tune was at
[01:51:06] 1.0 I'm sorry 1.0 1.3 so I'm going to back the tune off on the fully charged battery and then I'm going to see where I can get the tune on a fully charged battery this is
[01:51:20] fine I'm starting to think it might be the same which is which would actually make a lot of sense the the the frame's ability to isolate vibrations is pretty nope I
[01:51:33] forgot to back the tune off I made the tune really aggressive let's go all the way back to where it was so it was all the way down here at 1.3
[01:51:46] 1.0 all right so this is where I had it buddy back up and it wasn't a completely fresh battery but still oscillating so it's either the same or it might actually be a little
[01:52:06] bit worse oh that hit that table hard now that the battery is discharged a touch I think it's exactly the same ah the whole point was to be able to push the tune
[01:52:38] farther and I've got the tune back to where it was before and I can't push this tune much farther so from a tuning perspective we haven't improved anything but we saved a little bit of weight
[01:52:56] and we've got the propellers riding around the inside of the ducts a little bit better so pluses and minuses oh God damn it what am I doing
[01:53:28] hey and I said earlier this tune is fine something my guess I'm going to guess I'm going to guess the reason that I can't get this tune as dialed as most of my rigs
[01:53:53] is down to this Super X AIO so this is the this is the mobula 6224 AIO which I really don't run on any of the other rigs I have it on one rig this is a lighter weight AO one of
[01:54:11] the ways that they save weight is reducing the number of capacitors and when you reduce the number of capacitors as we from The Diamond Board the worst AIO ever in tiny whoop
[01:54:28] history you you get a lot more electrical noise and so that that's probably why I'm unable to get this tune as aggressive as as I'm used to and I mean it
[01:54:46] it's come on man Teddy don't mess up that Cube gate please the this is light this AO is lighter and we're able to get the tune pretty damn good
[01:55:06] o and so you could argue that this is I mean you're just you're sacrificing a little bit of a little bit of prop wash for lighter weight and this flies damn good you know
[01:55:24] and most people aren't doing and nobody should be doing any kind of cinematic work with analog rigs so to some extent who cares right like who cares if there's a little bit of prop
[01:55:37] wash it bugs the [@$#%] out of me but I'm a weirdo it's run time Man 3 minutes and 10 311 312 ah I chickened out look at look at the doggy toy guts all over the
[01:55:57] floor little dog is a monster disemboweling his toys and leaving their fuzzy guts all over the floor damn I'm bummed that this Frame is not magically
[01:56:16] isolating vibrations better and allowing me to push the tune a little bit farther I was I now that like now that this has happened I'm just was a silly thing to expect but you
[01:56:32] know wishful thinking right let's do a 260 mAh battery through it again I I this is a better rig on this Frame and so and I'm excited for Quad 66 to fly like this setup this is not my exact
[01:56:48] setup but pretty damn close and this is is my tune I I'll be super interested to see what he had what he says about the about the tune Endor my rates although I don't really care what he
[01:56:59] thinks about my rates because nobody should really run anybody else's rates anyway 260 Mah lava battery let's see how it is full gram lighter oh boy okay shut my eyes on that
[01:57:14] one cuz I thought it was going to hit me in the face oh that was a weird crash haven't been upstairs yet hopefully the lights are on they are let's try to get a good
[01:57:40] one a almost hold on let me get a good one here we go come on man there is so much vertical space to play with right here there it was it's my favorite new
[01:58:03] move it's so much fun to do it up here because the ceiling is so nice and high oh that was a big oneit's crazy how high I can get in there no it's really hard to get it to
[01:58:20] kill that forward momentum and get it just like perfectly going up usually I I I pull back a little bit too far if I get the if I get it straight up though I'll force it I'll I'll dive back
[01:58:41] down but when when you see me bail is when it's just not it's not perfectly vertical oh that's kind of cool though if I throw it off go through the go through both sides of it I like
[01:58:55] that let's bring this thing back downstairs oh God a let's try it again there it was pillow got me oh what I don't think I have on here is throttle
[01:59:27] Expo battery is kind of dead to be doing this but I'll just put it a little bit higher 30 I'm looking at my throttle output on the right there 28 29 30
[01:59:38] 31 31 32 so I'm going to put it at 32 I was traveling kind of slowly let's put it at 30 oh I do have it on I just have a little bit of on and I have it at 32 I'm going to leave leave
[01:59:52] it I don't want to send this out with tons of throttle Expo on it oh that looks cool rotating that all the way through there I dig that oh no no yeah whoa easy big fella
[02:00:16] oh Brave boy where you going where you going brave boy not so brave now bring that [@$#%] on dog come and get it come and get it who boy you going to eat me he going to eat me
[02:00:43] who you ain't going to eat [@$#%] dog standing up that's where I like to bring these batteries home 3 minutes and 6 seconds landing at 3.5 out of hover the Magical Mystery HappyModel Motors like
[02:01:02] so much efficiency well there you go absolutely nothing wrong with the mobul 6 2025 I'll tell you what the the mob 6 2024 frame I it's my favorite if you're going to run the taller Motors
[02:01:24] if you're going to run HappyModel Motors I really do think you should do the Cockroach frames but BetaFPV Motors look if if you've got an air 65 and you're sick of the frames
[02:01:35] breaking get yourself one of these and you'll probably never have to deal with it again I like this Frame a lot a lot a lot I just I don't run the motors that work properly in it should we do one
[02:01:49] more let's do one more let's do one more 300 fully charge 300 let me see if I can creep the tune up a little bit well let's put an Absolutely Fresh 300 on it and see what the tune
[02:02:01] does and then maybe I'll creep the tune up a little bit all right let's see don't fly away you little rat oh it's fine all of a sudden well no no it's at the limit this
[02:02:23] tun's at the limit's absolutely fine once the battery sags down a little bit but when the battery is fresh there's just a little bit of it's just a little too on
[02:02:42] edge that was awkward oh I I tried to do that really low oh oh oh let's try all the oh farts let's try all the new tricks oh my God I didn't I didn't see that symbol he comes running let's try the
[02:03:05] new tricks I was not set up for that so somebody said come around the somebody said I could maybe line that up through the from around the coffee table let's see that's totally works if I fly
[02:03:23] like a real person oh my god oh come on now how did I manage to hit the ceiling and kind of keep going try it again there it is and then the other really fun new move
[02:03:57] is that's hard is way harder than it looks oh you got to really commit to the to the roll that you're putting in there that is fun though that feels sketchy as
[02:04:24] [@$#%] cuz I'm like trapped in there all right let's try this one again no I'm in behind the TV hell a really I tried to like really leave it zero throttle forever oh
[02:05:01] ner think there's a Teddy back behind me there is oh God buddy don't stand there dude you never stand there you got to stand in the same spot my little fuzzy friend if you don't
[02:05:12] want to get hit in the head I kind of want to add a little bit more I I'm actually going to add a little bit more throttle Expo it's just it's still a little too bouncy on
[02:05:24] the throttle come up to 30 and I'm actually going to move the midpoint down one single point I know that seems like I'm moving it down nothing but it actually does matter that's how sensitive the
[02:05:35] midpoint is hey there it was combination no oh man I'm having a hard time with the Newbie drone Gates oh God it looks so good there it is [Laughter] damn big old hit a prop wash that's what
[02:06:28] I that's really what's bothering me about not getting not being able to get this tune a little bit better is that that little extra bit of prop wash there but it's
[02:06:38] whatever not many people do this style of flying and so not many people are ever if anybody is ever going to notice that oh Teddy oh my God 3 minutes and four minutes
[02:06:56] what the hell good Lord I guess I was doing a lot of like hovering lining up that that little Gap all right that's enough it's 1220 wow not the not the conclusion that I expected but that's a
[02:07:12] good thing that means we learned something if it was if if it had made the if if I'd been able to push the tune farther then it would have been like I knew it I actually
[02:07:27] learned something tonight which is good to know I'm willing to bet that the air 65 Frame would be exactly the same I'm willing to bet that all of these new frames other than the light AF
[02:07:41] because it is it is going to save you some weight but there are three frames that weigh the same cockroach 65 V3 mobul 6 2024 air 65 all three of those not one of those frames is going
[02:07:55] to do a better job isolating vibrations if you want if you are looking for a frame that's going to do that probably the Weebly Crown in that same category if you want a frame that is legitimately
[02:08:09] stiffer you're going to have to go all the way back to the meteor 65 that frame absolutely you can even feel it like when you do this with that frame but it's heavier the the weight of
[02:08:19] a frame a lot of times is directly correlated to how stiff it's going to be the light AF frame you're going to have to back your tune off a little bit but you're going to
[02:08:30] save some weight and so you get to pick what's more important to you a really gnarly pit tune or lightweight and there's no wrong answer there lightweight is
[02:08:43] Magic and so the the best way to choose here really would be be to would be to use the lightest frame go all the way to the light AF frame and see if you can get the pit tune
[02:09:02] aggressive enough for you and then you're maximizing you've got the lightest weight build possible and if you can stomach wherever That Tune is at then you're good to go if not then you
[02:09:13] go one step heavier and then when when you go one step heavier you can choose which frame by which Motors you're running but wandering whoop is going to its new home thank you Jesse from Tiny whoop for
[02:09:26] sending this this was super fun and I think we all learned something which is pretty rad I can't wait to see quad 66 fly this around me get caught up on chat here
[02:09:51] Den says I think you should ask the FAA question but you should also ask if you okay with your grandmother seeing it too don't want to disappoint her render says what's the answer to the
[02:10:04] life of the Universe I don't I actually I'm old enough that I don't have any grandmother's left that's sad wait is my grandmother Ruth still alive wow I don't I
[02:10:19] I I don't know it's late I blame it on it being late render says what's the answer to life the universe and everything oh godamn it what's the what's the the answer that in
[02:10:33] in that movie with the guy with the big round head why do I always wny do I have such a hard time remembering the name of that movie traveler's Guide to the universe what's the what's the
[02:10:42] the answer to everything in the Traveler's Guide to the universe isn't it like the number seven or something mik's in the house he says how does the Cockroach frame comp comp to the old
[02:10:51] meteor 65 Frame finally finally put my last spare together I'll need some more spare frames soon cockroach V3 frame is significantly lighter but not as stiff and not as durable but
[02:11:04] hysterically durable the the old school meteor 65 Frame the only real reason to run it at this point is if you just only care about durability it is the most durable frame so if you never ever
[02:11:16] ever want your frame to break that's the one I don't I don't think I've broken more than one of the Cockroach 65 V3 frames and I think the one that I broke was a prototype it's a really durable
[02:11:29] frame so I I would not run a meteor 65 an old school meteor 65 Frame I would spend the four whole dollars on a Crocker 65 V3 Sean glyph says what do you think of the peak screws I think that they break
[02:11:42] and they're a pain in the ass to get out of the motors they are a little bit lighter but it's not worth it for the pain in the ass Kevin Smith says measure the drill bit to get metric or
[02:11:51] decimal Freedom Units no just type 964 into Google and it'll tell you what the metric measurement is Ry bre says opinion on Prop Cutters I ordered four sets and only one of them fits inside my
[02:12:05] ducts anyway to do it without messing up the bounce oh oh oh no it always messes up the bounce you can sometimes get them like if you've got a four bladed propeller you can sometimes cut two of
[02:12:18] those blades off and get it somewhat well balanced but I I wouldn't do it's never going to be perfectly balanced what you can do if the if it's a plastic duct you could put the propeller on and
[02:12:37] just rub the propeller in just spin the propeller with your finger a whole bunch of times and then sometimes what you can even do is get onto like turtle mode and then just like give a burst of power
[02:12:48] real quick with Turtle mode and sometimes it'll it'll be able to spin it in there it doesn't take long for those props to self clearance and when you if especially if your ducts are like this
[02:12:59] if you do turtle mode it's going to bend the propellers down and so if the duct is like this a couple bursts of turtle mode will Flex the propellers down which will self-clearance them and then when
[02:13:12] it produces actual thrust the propeller blades Bend up a little bit and they're they're they clearance totally fine I have to do that on my sinis blers when I I put a fresh set of d76 on real one
[02:13:24] says thanks going to order one I had bought the I flate prop removal tube I'm pretty sure it's for bigger prop since the bottom part doesn't line up properly with whooop props I've heard that the I
[02:13:33] PL iflight prop removal tool sucks MCB says all three of my 2024's broke vtx's in under 25 packs so bummed sponge under the cam that sucks man there is an awful lot of
[02:13:49] clearance you should get in touch with whoever you bought them from cuz that's not enough batteries there is an awful lot of clearance and I am pushing down on this really hard and it
[02:14:02] is coming nowhere near I mean look there's no there's no reason to not put some foam under there but I don't think that's the issue we bed sells 2
[02:14:16] G4S that's what I would do that this is one of the big reasons that I continue to run the 2 G4S is that like other than the BetaFPV Matrix AO it doesn't look like any of the other aios
[02:14:31] are anywhere near as durable and so but you should get in touch with whoever whoever you bought those from and see if they'll do something for you because that's a bit much
[02:14:41] jonesen says I messaged you the link to the video about the guy running over my drone on your Discord DM it sucks so bad dude I saw you post about it on Facebook and some people were being
[02:14:52] [@$#%] I mean you posted it in the in the cinemat in in in the uh in one of the groups that DJI people hang out in so of course they're going to be douchebags but I was I was shocked to
[02:15:05] see how many FPV people were being [@$#%] but hey never mind I went to a march today on the capital of Atlanta I thought it would make me feel better but nowhere near enough people
[02:15:27] were there and so I ended up leaving feeling kind of more freaked out than than before so there's that I don't know it was the it was during working hours on a Wednesday but like I don't know man look
[02:15:46] it's just it's [@$#%] awful Greg T says love the Sim rig I have the same one have a good night thank you for the feedback on the patreon now very cool brother Greg also says can you direct
[02:15:58] me to a video with tuning whoops through BetaFlight I do it quite a bit one week ago on last week's whoop Wednesday stream I did a full tuning session it's super simple nowadays you don't you
[02:16:10] don't need a whole video on it you just push easiest way to do it is to take the master multiplier and just start pushing it up from 1.0 to 1.2 see it fly it make make sure it's not acting
[02:16:21] weird I talked a ton about that tonight push it up more at some point you're going to push it up to the point where it starts acting weird everything I was talking about earlier and then you just
[02:16:29] back it off there you go if you want to be a little bit more dialed do what I showed you tonight do what I showed you last Wednesday where you take specific control of the d the D term
[02:16:42] slider and then the pni slider and you get a little bit of a ratio going but the master multiplier moving that up is like that'll get you like 80 5 90% perfect Ry bre says it's a squirt so TPU
[02:16:56] Ducks would probably melt first people used to do that with the squirts people used to self-clearance the propellers into those TPU ducts so it'll technically work the problem with
[02:17:07] those TPU ducts is like you put the thing on your shelf or on your bag and it something pushes against that TPU and then the duct is out of round and then and it's that's one of the
[02:17:18] reasons that a lot of people have moved away from the squirt um but drones in with the last comment second to last comment of the live stream he says I put it in both the
[02:17:28] commercial and FPV as well groups sadly like you said I got more [@$#%] in the Drone groups than the local group that is normally toxic Morton upshot says have you had a chance to look at
[02:17:37] the Matrix 1S G4 board trying one out now so far pretty cool yeah I've done so the the live stream where I built this red and white rig is all about the Matrix board and then I've flown it
[02:17:50] a Bunch since then it seems to be it seems to be durable it's as heavy as the 2g4 I have a bunch of 2 G4S so I'm just going to keep running them it's a lot less expensive than the 2g4 so basically
[02:18:06] on that live stream what I said is like if you're willing to roll the dice The Matrix seems it's good if you want a known quantity and you and you want to spend a chunk of money that you
[02:18:16] know is going to be on a super reliable board it's the 2g4 which you can get from wee bed so there you go thanks for hanging friends I'll see you Friday at 7 o' here's some more me
[02:18:30] bloing around the parking lot or not there it goes oh wait no we have the the rest of the battery from the beginning of the stream have a good day friends love you bye a
