[00:02:24] hey oh really really really Cannon really is that so is that so you're going to you can't even can't even get past the intro tonight huh all right well let's just
[00:02:48] see coming back oh okay hold on today is is today the day now there it goes what's up friends my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me Ciotti send a send hate mail to Canon tell them to fix
[00:03:09] their effing software welcome to fresh gear Friday we're going to build a Mobula 704 hopefully I just I literally just realize I figuratively just realized that I forgot
[00:03:26] to make the I forgot to make the batteries so we're going to we're going to spend a couple of minutes swapping pH 2.0 to XT30 as well I don't know if there are any tiny little 300mah 350mah xt30
[00:03:48] batteries right now and so if you buy one of these things for the best performance you're going to have to do this so hopefully you'll you'll learn something from me doing it
[00:04:01] massive thank you to HappyModel for sending this over to me with a couple of extra canopies which is super cool of them this is their new aiio that is set up for HD vtx's I'm still flying
[00:04:16] over here on the other screen let me oh here let me let me since I didn't get it in the beginning of the battery here you go this this will make you feel better you you completionists here
[00:04:27] you'll feel better here here you go here you go there this is a 3in rip squeak with 144s 3520 props and a runam hybrid the video you're looking at is from the 4K onboard recording of the
[00:04:51] RunCam hybrid what do you think of that okay small be small now window there we go so that's the plan for tonight my friends which what do I need the that that part of the
[00:05:10] xt30 did I say XT60 before I think I did XT30 that's what we need so I got that one I got this one we'll do one black one yellow and another yellow H we'll just do two batteries
[00:05:30] I'll do those first and then I get them on the charger and I'll be right with the world we'll just make two cool I'm going to make another couple so let me just I might as well get these
[00:05:45] out while I'm digging around while I'm rooting around in here I might as well get the other ones out do I really not have another what the hell I only have that one
[00:06:02] that's weird I'm going to make four of these batteries there it is I know I had to have another one two black two yellow fantastic if you've got if you have the opportunity and you've got
[00:06:16] two of the same battery oh everything's falling if you've got two of the same battery make one of them different I'm going to put a yellow XT30 on one and a black XT30 on the other and then if you over
[00:06:38] discharge one of the batteries or just in general in life the batteries will be unique and then maybe you'll remember like oh I just destroyed the one with the yellow plug you can just take a
[00:06:48] marker and put a X on one and a y on the other don't do that put an x on one and a one on the other but make your batteries a little but unique and your life will significantly
[00:07:05] improve it won't be significant it might improve a little bit but it won't be significant I can promise you that greetings cretins hope everybody's doing all right I know many of you
[00:07:22] aren't and it's only going to get worse from here oh my God I'm struggling for the record I I am really really really really really really having a hard time but what can we do man we are in it
[00:07:40] now best of luck to us all we are going to need it so that's sort of the plan cool I'm going to do I'm tempted to do let me try test fitting these green gnb 350s again why do they have to be so
[00:08:00] wide what the hell can I put them in vertical no you can't put them in vertical see like like they go but it's like I can I can see that it's flexed in the battery but yet no I'm not
[00:08:15] going to do that I'm not going to do that we will have this emac 350 2S and then I've got two of these gnb 300s and that's oh no I've got a Talon an old school Talon 3 00 I think
[00:08:30] this one's kind of loose though isn't it's a little bit loose we won't do this one we will do these three and that's just fine so we'll mess around with that
[00:08:45] in the chat chonan was first Islander FPV was next Curtis Hayes rock crawler Bora Bora J DS Louie Frank Nicholas Troy prelog Matthew nitrous chimp Bob Bruce Raph FPV Uriel Mikel
[00:09:00] Bren Anderson sloppy K Green Thumb Northern Tier 661 Aly cat 70 661 again brand baked beans brand Anderson tonan Islander Weber crom Anonymous ARS Alexander cxb Steve
[00:09:24] Sims Jimmy sprinkles that's a good one Uriel cxb FPV Ray Gusto what's up everybody if I missed you that sucks for you you must feel like a jerk don't feel like a jerk it's my bad I didn't do it
[00:09:37] on purpose I swear this AIO comes with what are these grommets on here let me push this AIO up and out and see what these grommets are this is also a new HappyModel frame
[00:09:57] so this AIO comes with regular thickness like just standard grommets I don't know if that's going to clear man I mean I would have to assume that it
[00:10:12] will but we might need to switch the grommets out on this Mobula 7 HD if you buy a Mobula 7 HD it's probably going to come with the with the VTX and they'll have again in theory done this for
[00:10:27] you when you buy your 04 air unit's going to come with grommets that are thicker on one side than the other which is important and so the question becomes is this VTX going to sit far
[00:10:46] enough away ah farts far enough away from the aiio that it doesn't cause any issues and we're going to look at that first because so I call that packaging if if you ever hear me talking about
[00:11:04] like the first part of a build process which is kind of like packaging everything together that's what I'm referring to it's they talk about that in the car World you
[00:11:15] got a team of Engineers that like you design like the outside of the car and then you have a space on the inside of the car that you got to put all the stuff in and
[00:11:24] that's called packaging and so that's what we do first with builds to make sure that stuff is going to fit to figure out if we have everything that we need to kind of brainstorm
[00:11:39] and see what like with these builds it's actually really important because the we want to put the AO and the VTX as close together as possible and so you can rotate the AIO you can also rotate
[00:11:58] the VTX and so that part is you don't want to skip that part you don't want to just slap the AIO down on there and assume that it's going to be good because then like you're going to get
[00:12:09] the whole build done and you're going to realize that something's hitting something else and you got to tear it all apart and redo it so always do this bit first if it's like a
[00:12:19] carbon fiber frame screw it all together take a look at it like dry fit your your electronics in there make sure everything's going to kind of go together so let me see this is a
[00:12:31] a new HappyModel frame designed for the bigger propellers the 45 mm propellers it looks a lot like the Mobula 7 V1 frame in terms of like the duck the the duct support design
[00:12:48] here but then it's got a big old battery tray for a 2S battery which is pretty slick so if I take this 04 air unit we almost always want to put the all the tall components facing
[00:13:06] upwards so the USB port and the the jsd plug and so they give you a set of grommets which is very cool so I'm just going to throw these grommets in real quick and we will take a look
[00:13:23] they also sent me a bunch of their canopies which is really cool we're going to take a look at how their canopies fit against the VTX the
[00:13:34] 04 VTX itself here and all of these HD vtx's they're not the most durable things in the world so you really want to make sure that the canopy is not pushing up against anything like the
[00:13:49] bind button I think like two days after the 04 came out I want to say it was Thomas Moore had his bind button break off because the canopy was pushing up against it
[00:14:04] and so that's going to be something that we take a really close look at so in the corner here we've got the elrs antenna what is that the rear no that's the front so we've got the elrs antenna
[00:14:17] up in the front so we're going to bend that forward a little bit to get it out of the way and all right cool all right good so this is going to be the front so let's just assume that
[00:14:36] we're going to kind of build it like this and oh looks like we're all right there's a shocking amount of space between them it's hard to see when it's in the
[00:14:50] frame it's going to be impossible for me to show you so let me try this let me push the AIO up off the posts there we go I'll be damned looks like there's tons of room
[00:15:05] I'll show you guys in one second all right check this out turn the brightness up on this guy here and so basically what I'm doing is putting these two together and then looking for that Gap see the Gap in
[00:15:20] between them so you're looking for like what the tallest part of the a is and it's almost always the the plug header there and as you can't see because Logitech can't do anything right just as I
[00:15:38] say that what you can kind of see there is that we do have enough of a gap between that tallest point on the aiio which is that plug header which you can clearly see and then the bottom of the
[00:15:53] 04 so this is actually going to be totally fine I'm pretty surprised usually on the WalkSnail builds I have to run grommets here that are taller on one side than the other and put the Tall
[00:16:09] part of the grommets facing upwards on the aiio and then put the Tall part of the grommets on the wnail VTX facing down but DJI did a really good job with their VTX making the bottom well just
[00:16:24] one side of the VTX very flat see how they put like all little short components on this side that's really really nice of them that that really does help us quite a bit WalkSnail
[00:16:37] did not do nearly as good of a job there are tall components on both sides so that forces us to have to kind of boost the the VTX up a little bit more so this is pretty cool I'll
[00:16:55] play around with the the rotation of the of the VTX in a minute here but I just I I couldn't help but want to see cuz I I I had a weird feeling just now that we might not that I might have to pull it
[00:17:12] all apart and get those grommets out which I was going to scream and yell about but it looks like we're okay so let me get let me get caught up on the chat here if you want to talk
[00:17:25] directly to me in the chat all you got to do is type c FPV if if you want to support me all you got to do is go over to se fpv.one for only $3 a month that's like 10 cents it's like 10 cents a day
[00:17:55] it's like 7 and2 cents per hour of live streaming content that I do well worth it's the only way that I can continue doing this full-time Etsy has some really fun stuff and more to
[00:18:06] come Fiverr you can work one-on-one with me to really get all of your questions answered very specifically I do as best as I can to just dump all my knowledge into these live streams but
[00:18:18] if you really want to understand this stuff when we work oneon-one I explain it in one way and if I if I don't feel like that's totally clicking with you I'll explain it in a different way and
[00:18:29] like I can explain this stuff in like two or three or four different ways until you really understand it and just like being able to have something explained and then ask a
[00:18:37] direct question and then that gets explained and ask another question you can hook your builds up while we're doing it like there's all kinds of advantages of working one-on-one with me
[00:18:46] through Fiverr if you really want to learn quickly this is how to do it teesprings got some fun shirts and other random apparel the newest thing up there is actually a beanie hat PayPal if
[00:18:56] you want to support me directly but you don't want YouTube to take 30% of your Super Chat and then lots of affiliate links change your bookmarks change your auto URL bar suggestions over to
[00:19:10] someone's affiliate links and they will keep making content for you to watch for free on YouTube Amazon get FPV pyro drone race State quads newbie drone wee bed BetaFPV fpv cycle hingi oh my
[00:19:21] God brain 3D hd0 fly Wii Max bang good camera butter and AliExpress if you go to any one of those websites and you're remember to click my affiliate Link at any point before you check out I will
[00:19:31] get a small percentage of that total order after you check out it wipes the affiliate link out so that's why it's nice to replace your bookmarks to all these websites with someone's affiliate
[00:19:40] link because you have to refresh it every time it also clears after like a couple of weeks usually so you can't just click all the affiliate links now and you're good until you order so
[00:19:51] if you use bookmarks swap them if you just type the beginning of the website into the URL bar and it automatically suggest suggests the rest of it you can remove your current
[00:20:01] suggestion for these websites and then just hit my affiliate link a few times in a row and that'll tell your browser like oh he really likes going to this very specific FPV cycle URL
[00:20:13] and then when you type FPV for FPV cycle it'll guess my affiliate link you hit enter away you go cool let me I've got a little bit of a mess over here let me just really
[00:20:28] quickly clean this up because it's bothering me there we go you go there greetings crans 661 says so do you have goggles that support 04 yet yes one of you beautiful bastards
[00:20:51] let me borrow a set of goggles 2 which I have not turned on yet so God only knows what that's going to be I assume that I'm going to have to update this thing but whatever we'll just dive into
[00:21:05] the build we'll get as far as we can lately there's been a lot of questions so I I I'm not I'm not banking on like getting through this entire build tonight I also have to build the
[00:21:18] batteries I just want to get this process started I I'd really hoped to get this going to get this started yesterday and at least do the batteries yesterday but I'm just I'm
[00:21:31] just I'm just really struggling right now like anytime that like the time that I have outside of these streams like I'm really having to take care of myself and rest a lot or because I can just
[00:21:45] feel a meltdown on the horizon and I really try to not let that happen at this point so we're also doing mailbag tonight forgot about that got a box from well you'll see you'll
[00:22:02] see got a couple of boxes for us to open up so that'll be fun but if you're struggling as well you're not alone I I I wish I there's anything that I could say that would make this any
[00:22:17] better but there's nothing it's just going to be [@$#%] nasty what else is happening in chat Uriel says it's because of Mercedes Benz the hell does that
[00:22:37] mean chonan says flywoo just released a 16 by6 ESC that's the most 20 2016 thing I've ever heard interesting do they have a 16 X6 flight controller I hope so Ark says do the
[00:23:00] 300 M BT 3.0 or 450s fit in that HappyModel frame well good question I don't have any of the 450s but I certainly do have the 300s they should because they're ba I oh God no I mean they fit
[00:23:16] but they're pretty wobbly I have a wrap of that kind of cloth almost like hockey grip tape tape around mine and that that really does help but that is wobbly as [@$#%] in there so I would not
[00:23:37] actually recommend these 300S for this Mobula 704 these emac 350s fit better but they're they still move around a little bit but if I did one single wrap of that tape this would
[00:23:51] be perfect this is significantly less wobbly and then these g&b 300s these actually fit really nice you don't need the you don't need any extra Jam for these these fit Kind of Perfect
[00:24:07] so wow I'm kind of happy that I'm I was initially I was going to do BT 3.0 and switch this over to BT 3.0 but to expect somebody to buy a binded fly and then switch the the battery
[00:24:21] lead over that's kind of silly and those don't fit all that well so mulus is going to stay XT30 I think I don't love how this battery cable is running do I want to run that out no I
[00:24:41] can't it's going to get in the way it kind of has to run out the side oh well it'll be fine Steve Sim says notice I wonder I wonder why he's it's a weird word for him to use notice this is
[00:25:01] not a challenge but SE FV has managed to hit the limit of bt2 with 15 amps how many amps to my 72s hit with no limits where are you bt2.0 where are you getting that info
[00:25:23] from bt25 amps BT 2.05 amps what if I Google search that it supports 9 amp continuous current 15 amp burst look at that I'll be damned I never read that spec when they say burst they're
[00:25:44] probably referring to like a two or 3 second burst a we never sit Full Throttle for that long B the battery none of these batteries will push 15 amps for more than like a half a second at Full
[00:26:02] Throttle so that's probably a pretty here it is that's probably a pretty loose number there that's interesting though I've never had a BT 2.0 connector show any signs of getting too hot
[00:26:25] and so I think we're we're we're good to go good call though Steve how many amps would a Mobula 72s hit with no limits with a big ass motor with like an 1102 18,000 at
[00:26:51] 100% I wouldn't be surprised if we get to like 20 but again none of these little batteries are going to be able to maintain that for more than like a split second so I don't think that's something
[00:27:04] that we have to worry about I I I love the I love where your head's at but the batteries just don't they they don't they sag like crazy these little batteries just are sag monsters Uriel
[00:27:18] says my con constellation is still a problem Ray FPV says what's up Islander FPV says HappyModel is called calling that frame the M80 for 80 80 mm I call it the firecracker frame for my
[00:27:33] favorite childhood Firework the M80 m8s used to scare the [@$#%] out of me man if you never learned this as a kid teach this to your kids never light a firework especially
[00:27:51] like an M80 or bigger never light it and then wind up and throw it because if you light it and the fuse goes fast when you're winding up to throw it's going to blow up right next to your ear you
[00:28:02] throw out you light it out that way it's only ever going away what I mean don't blow your [@$#%] hands off people M80 will do some goddamn damage M80 going off in your hand will will
[00:28:17] [@$#%] you up I don't know if you'll like lose fingers but it's will not be a great day and it'll probably be a hospital visit I wouldn't know I I I don't I don't know if I've ever set off
[00:28:27] an M8 I've had friends that have but I don't know I don't know if I've ever actually lit one off Layman board says have you heard of other people having the 04 light
[00:28:40] powering off on whoop crashes I haven't I get this almost every crash even very light crashes what the hell is that about what are you powering it off of are you are you powering it off of a BEC
[00:28:51] I wonder if technically it could be the it could be the the bing bong tonian says don't put the chip directly above that Port if it hits it's bad what chip there's like a million
[00:29:06] chips on here ah the main chip we'll see we'll we'll the the the main thing that's going to have the biggest effect on the rotation of
[00:29:21] this is going to be the canopy and kind of the antenna a little bit got to got to got got to make sure that the canopy is as far away from things as possible like the
[00:29:38] USB port so I can kind of already see that I don't I don't necessarily want the canopy like this the the rear of the canopy is a lot wider here than like the sides and so I think I'm going to want
[00:29:52] the sides one of the sides next to the USB port well it looks like it comes it looks like no M we'll see we'll see it's also going to have to do with like the length
[00:30:07] of this cable and the length of the cable that goes from the AO to the VTX luckily the the flat bottom part is going to be on the bottom so we've only got four options one two 3
[00:30:20] four and we'll take a look at cable lengths and whatnot in those four orientations and then it's should be pretty easy Public Service Announcement if you get an 04 light the part where
[00:30:34] the cable connects to the camera is very weak you need to run a bead of E6000 around this so that you do not break it I've already done this it's this joint
[00:30:51] here between the bottom of the PCB and the cable connector this there are two big blobs that they put on there they help but you also want to add on the bottom there I'm
[00:31:16] trying to get it to catch the Light a bead of E6000 see it kind of shining there on the bottom between the the the bottommost PCB between that and the second PCB there that's where it breaks
[00:31:32] and so you're going to run a bead on the back around the sides there see it's kind of shiny and then around the front here as well you can really see it there see the bead of E6000 that's catching
[00:31:46] the light right now it kind of flows out a little bit but you want it in between those two bottommost pcbs the the top part here you want it to be able so that you can disconnect it so don't
[00:31:58] run the P don't run the E6000 up top here just on the bottom that this main PCB here and then that one layer up PCB those never should come disconnected and if they do it's never going to work
[00:32:10] again so run that little be to E6000 tiny whoop.com has E6000 in these tubes with a super fun tip applicator point that makes that job super easy and they also make E6 they sell
[00:32:36] E6000 and actually they I don't know if they call it E6000 or e7000 but they make e and then they make t t is black e is clear get one of each you'll feel fancy they're they're very similar to
[00:32:51] one another Mikel says ruthless with that we webcam I I've just I've just had it I've just had it I have I have zero patience I I I ran out of patience a long time ago for this [@$#%] webcam
[00:33:12] and it's can go to hell I should I should probably ease up because now that I look at it I'm starting to scratch the plastic in the front and that's going to make the the
[00:33:29] focus situation even worse but it's just oh I'm just at the end of my rope I got I have nothing left G tonian says I think the safest Orient orientation is having the black
[00:33:52] goop above the USB port the black goop above the USB port what USB port so this this this is the HappyModel AIO and it has the new HappyModel AIO it has a regular USB port on
[00:34:13] the bottom are you talking about the jst the jst plug this is actually the camera plug that we're going to be able to just plug directly in this is going to be the easiest build of all time the
[00:34:25] hardest part of this build is going to be making putting an xd3 30 on these batteries Whit says do you do builds for others I do not I hate building I have about 15 builds that aren't done
[00:34:39] and so like I have done builds for other people but I charge $100 an hour and they usually take between four and8 hours and so immediately 99% of people are like never mind but every once in a while
[00:34:58] people that have enough money and want something that's like absolutely perfect will pay for it but I really really don't like to do it strer says what do you think would be a
[00:35:13] good size for something for smaller spaces like a large front yard or Park I was thinking 2 and a half inch toothpick or maybe 2in 2S whoop like a Mobula 8 my favorite at the moment is all of
[00:35:25] these 2S 75mm BS they're just so goddamn good so good and there's a ton of live streams about them if you want to dive in yuriel says you're not alone davs says I've got a Mobula 6 bind
[00:35:42] and fly swapped out the crap jst for BT 2.0 same difference nice YouTube just did the thing scrolling back up chonan says get FPV has a bunch of new weird flywoo
[00:36:02] releases I just saw an email from flywoo that had some weird [@$#%] in it I was like what I didn't have a chance to really look at it but weird BNF's make me laugh
[00:36:16] Layman board says vbat interesting you've got vbat going to the going to the 04 VTX and it's shutting off on not hard crashes that sucks a bag of dicks I got nothing for you on that
[00:36:38] one mson says look like YouTube ate my chat comment they're filtering is complete garbage sorry dude I'm on I am on live chat I'm not on top chat by accident so YouTube just did the thing again
[00:36:56] scrolling back up where the hell was it there we go re metal type it again type it again Ray W says on the Newbie drone cockroach V3 is the top of the battery supposed to rest against
[00:37:17] the the man nips is which like when when you get one of those frames and you first put a battery in there you're like what is this Mickey Mouse [@$#%] and then you just start flying around and it's totally
[00:37:34] fine I know it if if it really weirds you out you can like put a little dot of E6000 on top of the man nips or you can like melt them down flat a little bit but it's totally fine it'll
[00:37:48] leave like it'll leave like little tiny marks it's not even leaving marks anymore it used to leave little marks in the batter in the sticker of the B battery but it's totally fine
[00:37:59] I've I've run hundreds if not thousands of batteries through those frames it never causes any problems ethanw the reason they do that is because you can mount a second AIO on the bottom of
[00:38:10] those frames which is really really cool so you could do like a super low profile digital build with a cockroach frame because it's got the the posts on the top and the
[00:38:22] bottom even the for the record when I say posts I mean man nips Ethan W says I'm currently building a 164 scale RC drift car and damn I thought that making a good FPV was tough
[00:38:35] this is so difficult I've almost used a full 15 gram bottle of superglue fun though Jesus Christ it's a lot of super glue all right cool I'm caught up on chat let's dive in to this first things
[00:38:55] first let's make these batteries I got a couple tips that that you'll need for soldering XT30 is at some point in your life the main tip with XT30 is is just to
[00:39:12] understand that they will melt the they they look like they're pretty solid but they really aren't and the the one that's much more susceptible to this is the quad side one down in
[00:39:28] there those metal prongs are just barely held in by like one thin piece of plastic and so if you solder up to this those pins can very easily move around and then it'll never plug in again the
[00:39:43] solution to that whenever you're soldering XT30 is is that plug the male into the female and solder it like this I'm going to do this today even though I don't really
[00:39:55] need to because the the female ones here the metal pin is like totally encased in plastic here but you can still push the metal pin out of there and that's still a bad thing so
[00:40:13] always whenever even XT 60s you want to do this same thing plug them in to one that's just empty and then you'll get a much better result you won't I mean I don't know if you'll get a better
[00:40:26] result but you won't ruin the damn thing which is kind of important this is the Omni fixo it is the best way of holding stuff that you're working
[00:40:38] on and so which side we're doing this side so the one thing that I really like to do is rotate the little Bing bongs so that they're facing outwards the open part of the slot is facing
[00:41:03] outwards see it that way you can bring the wire in from the outside and you've got the maximum amount of space in between these right so rotate these guys just grab
[00:41:16] them with a pair of pliers this one just happens to be damn near perfect but I am going to rotate this right one a little bit more here and so you just brute force it just
[00:41:27] grab it and twist it doesn't have that much tension to it let me do each one of these now wow that's weird either I already did okay this one is completely wrong so let's grab this and as you
[00:41:42] can see it doesn't take much force to do that make sure that you're not pulling it when you do that though these metal pins will absolutely come out of the plastic all
[00:41:52] right so we're going to get this into a good position what do I have I have two of these g&b 300s so one of them is going to get a yellow plug the other one's going to get a
[00:42:08] black plug when you are soldering with batteries even if they're at storage voltage even if they're at 3.4 3.5 they're live don't cut both of these leads at the same time I want to leave
[00:42:21] these as long as possible well what's an even better idea is is to take one of these leads out of the plug so get your fine tipped tweezers in here doesn't matter which one pull the little
[00:42:40] plastic latch up and yank one of those out and now we're a little bit safer here cool because this other one is is still in the plastic and now you can cut this Ultra you can cut
[00:42:57] this as long as possible probably even cut it all the way up here because you can literally like remove this metal bastard but I I don't think I'll need all that so I'll just
[00:43:10] cut it flush up against here cool so one at a time very very important when you're doing this also make sure you get your shrink wrap on here before you start soldering it to
[00:43:25] that you're going to do one piece of skinny shrink wrap on each one of these wires and then you're going to do one main piece of shrink wrap around the whole thing with XT30 you can just
[00:43:38] kind of look at the Gap in here and that's how much of the insulation you want to remove I like to use my fingernails because they will not Nick any of the inner strands of
[00:43:54] wire after you remove a little bit of the insulation come in here with your fingernail and just push the insulation down a little bit that way when you get it hot it
[00:44:09] doesn't shrink down and then you have a big area of wire that's exposed you want to have you want to try to have the insulation butt right up against the The Joint that you're working on and so
[00:44:21] now you can literally just hold it up here and see if you pulled off enough I did not I did not pull off quite enough of the man I got to I got to put the nerd goggles on for all of this
[00:44:31] small work these are the nerd goggles you can see what you're doing and then you'll do good work because you'll be able to see what you're doing wish I had a more interesting way
[00:44:44] of explaining that but I don't helps to see what you're doing all right and I'm just putting a little since I already kind of cut it I just wanted to put a little
[00:44:57] dent in thereso Florence zelia and I have been watching Batman what's the Batman with Bane in it Batman Returns I think over the last like week she's 14 years old so she
[00:45:19] has about 30 to 40 minutes of attention span before she sees something shiny and runs away so we had to watch it in phases I forgot how good that movie is holy hell on XT30 is on the side I think it's
[00:45:34] with XT 60s as well it's engraved in the side whether it's negative or positive there's a little minus here if I flip it over there's a little Plus on this side so I'm going to
[00:45:47] hook it up here I just stripped off a little bit more and it's perfect and so the the XT 30 and 60 if you have nerd goggles on you will see that it's not just
[00:46:07] the it's not just this part but it's like this on the bottom of that and so you do want to try to get the wires into the hole Ray Wise says thank you for the answer sent you a 10 spot via paper Pay
[00:46:27] Pal thank you so much dude very very cool of you much much much appreciated all right so a really cool little trick we're we're kind of bouncing around but you'll be all right
[00:46:39] a really cool trick with the Omni fixo it does a good job of holding stuff but if you want it to hold stuff even better come on you jackass if you want it to hold stuff even more firmly take one of
[00:46:51] the other arms and just connect that and they can support each other and now it'll it'll hold it and you can even do like a third one you can really like triangulate it out and you can
[00:47:07] actually get it to the point where it won't move at all it's won't move at all now because of the way that it's sort of triangulated and so we want to be going to Yep this side we're
[00:47:20] going to take these wires and just twist them up a little bit cuz we want to try to get them into the little hole if you can only get if you can only get them into the
[00:47:29] part that's open like this that's fine that's a pretty good connection but if you can ever get them all the way down inside there into the hole man it's super strong when you do
[00:47:40] that it's strong in the hole my friends don't forget your flux I like to put some flux here let me get the nerd goggles back on so I can see what I'm doing I like to put some flux
[00:47:54] here which when you put the cable in it's going to going to force it down in there which is kind of nice and then you can also put some flux on the cable itself on the on the exposed bits of
[00:48:04] wire one of the things that I'm going to do here that I don't really love doing is I'm not going to Tin this if I tin this wire it's going to be too thick to get down into the inside the the UFL
[00:48:22] Jesus XT60 rather and so I'm just really quickly kind of spreading the the flux around here because of the fact that it's open like this I've got a spot that I
[00:48:35] can push the I can push the solder into right and so let's get this set here all right so just get this Omni fixo just right all right and okay so that jaw is in just about
[00:49:18] the right position so we can just kind of open it up come in here put the wire all the way in hopefully so depending on the wire gauge there's a chance that it actually
[00:49:32] won't go in the hole I'll let in one second just in case you buy this exact battery it went in a little bit but I just realized that I forgot to put a little piece of shrink wrap here so
[00:49:50] now I get to do it all over again thrash was donating plasma and he realized the machine had XT60 and xt90 connect connectors that's awesome all right so I like to use Clear
[00:50:09] shrink wrap for these so that if I ever need to inspect this joint I can and this is probably about right cut it short because these wires are pretty short but you want it to be long enough to go
[00:50:29] over that entire joint so there we go there we go might as well cut some extra for the other batteries three four and then 5 six H those are too short this is pretty shitty shrink
[00:50:57] crap it's like really really outrageously thin but that's fine this is not like a this is not an area that's going to get a lot of abuse we just want to isolate it God
[00:51:13] forbid something gets in there and tries to bridge the the two together know what I'm saying laying board I'm trying get it in the hole man I'm trying my best it's hard it's hard
[00:51:33] sometimes all right so I'm G to try to not get flux all over this hold on I'm sitting here like man I can't see what the hell I'm doing gotta get the Nerds
[00:51:48] on hold on before I do that let me make sure that it's going to fit over easy easy all right cool so there we go with that and so now let's just get this going again
[00:52:13] here and kind of angle it downwards a little bit a little twist this wire gauge is just barely big enough to get it small enough to get kind of in there that's not like all the way in the hole but
[00:52:41] it'll be all right just want to make sure I'm not getting little individual strands of wires breaking away now we're good and I need to move this Omni fixo arm a little bit's not quite right there
[00:53:03] we go there we go in a second I'm going to show you one one of my favorite things about the Omni fixo but just hold on so we're doing all this and we're we're kind of fussing with
[00:53:17] this the the normal Helping Hands are on like a big metal base and the arms are really long the Omni fixo being small like it is is one of my favorite things about it because we can sit
[00:53:36] here and screw around with this until we get it absolutely perfect and then we can pick the whole damn thing up and rotate it around in a way that allows us to get the soldering iron comfortably
[00:53:51] in the correct position so right now it's perfect for me being able to line this up but it's not necessarily perfect for me to get the soldering iron in
[00:54:05] there but that's okay so I got that that's looking really good all right now I can take the entire thing and pick it up and turn it so that I can bring the soldering iron in and
[00:54:18] bring the solder in that is the magic of the one of the magical things about the Omni fixo so we've got the joint fluxed we don't have it tinned but I did that so that I could get it
[00:54:31] into the little cup at the bottom of the XT30 because of the fact that I didn't tin it we're going to slow everything down we want to make sure that we give it a little bit of extra time for
[00:54:42] everything to heat up so that the solder flows between the wire and the goldplated cup thing so soldering iron comes on on one side that puff of smoke is the flux burning off and now we're
[00:54:56] going to add solder and we're going to be patient add a little bit add a little bit more we don't want to add too much but the joint is going to get shiny once we've added enough solder and that was
[00:55:09] plenty of time you can actually see the solder start to flow like when you first add the solder it'll just sit up on top of the wire but then as the heat kind of permeates the solder will all of a
[00:55:22] sudden flow down between the wire and the and the little goldplated cup thing and so let me try to show you that real quick camo Studio let me just lock the focus real quick here so we're
[00:55:44] going to go to manual focus as close as possible and so that's what you're looking for you're looking for the the shiny ball to be between the between the the goldplated part
[00:56:05] and the wire itself you don't want to be seeing like individual strands of wire see if I can get a little bit more light in there all right that's a nice strong joint and you want to see that solder
[00:56:20] flow down over the gold a little bit there's a there's a Big Blob down there on the bottom is see that Amber that is the that's excess flux I could have probably put a little bit less flux
[00:56:33] on here but it's going to be all right here we go so there's a better look at the bottom of that joint see how that nice shiny silver blob goes between it's basically
[00:56:51] completely hiding the individual strands of wire and so it's has it is kind of like permeated all through there that's a nice that's a nice solid joint you'll notice that the shrink wrap has shrunk
[00:57:06] which is super annoying when when when these wires are really short like this the wire gets hot and it'll shrink the shrink wrap so what we're going to do is come in there with thin
[00:57:20] tipped smooth jawed pliers and we're going to stretch this shrink wrap back out right so we get it in here nice and gentle and actually we want to get both Jaws in there shrink wrap will shrink up and
[00:57:41] stretch and Shrink up and stretch and Shrink up and stretch and so get the Jaws in there separate them a little bit that'll start to stretch it back out get them back out here put them back
[00:57:55] in there again and just being as gentle as I possibly can there we go all right one more having a set of needle-nose pliers that are smooth jawed like this and kind of pointy are really really
[00:58:18] really nice for dealing with shrink wrap I just put it through on only one of the Jaws that was annoying okay there we go all right so that's all the way through there so now I can really
[00:58:29] stretch it back out all right give it a good stretch and see so now I can move it again and so now I can put it up over this joint to insulate it and then we'll shrink it right back
[00:58:50] down there we go I could have cut this a little bit longer but whatever it's fine cool there it is and so now that joint is insulated again at the end we're going to put one big piece of
[00:59:07] shrink wrap over the whole thing but I love having each individual one shrunk down a little bit cool and so now you have this I know this seems like a lot of work but it's a battery
[00:59:29] lead it's important soldering direct to batteries is super annoying and I don't recommend that you do it unless you absolutely have to but if you have to do it do it right and so now we got to
[00:59:42] be a little bit careful because we're going to take this ground lead out of the plastic and if it goes over here and touches well it would have to go all the way up here right because we've put that
[00:59:53] shrink wrap on there so we are isolated but just be careful at this point whenever you're whenever you take the other lead out of a battery be be on your best
[01:00:08] behavior that doesn't make any sense so I'm going to do the same thing I'm going to actually take it out of the connector so that I can cut it as long as possible so flip the little latch up on the jst
[01:00:22] connector here and then just take it off which exposes this and then you can cut it absolutely as long as possible cool makes sense and now rinse and repeat I think I'm just going to do this one battery
[01:00:45] and then we'll move on I'll get this on the charger this is not an indoor rig so I'm not trying to like fly a bunch of batteries inside the house here and after I after I show you this
[01:00:57] once there's not a whole lot of value to rinse and repeat but let me see if I can pinch the right the right amount of insulation on the first try this time I think that looks about right
[01:01:13] let's see pull the insulation back right these soldering tips apply to pretty much everything that you're doing and so if you're new to soldering there's a lot of like basic things and
[01:01:37] when you start to have a hard time soldering go back to the basics as you get better at soldering you'll be able to kind of skip those basic things but if you're doing small work or just
[01:01:49] difficult work you got to go back to the basics and you got to do all of the basic stuff that's going to make it a lot easier flux everything get it get everything perfectly in like the right
[01:02:02] position so that you're not having to contort your hands or soldering iron or whatever in a weird position like you got to you got to do everything sort of just right the the more difficult the
[01:02:13] work the more important it is to kind of do everything just right all right nerd goggles back on let's knock this out so now we've got the ground
[01:02:32] side put this in Omni fixo here get this out of the way and all right so I need to get close to this so that I can see what the hell's going on all right so shrink
[01:02:50] wrap there we go push it as far down the wire as you possibly can to get it away from the heat but it's with with with leads this short it's you're it's
[01:03:03] worthless it's going to shrink up and you're going to have to stretch it back out it's just the name of the game let's get some flux going little bit in the cup here and
[01:03:18] then a little bit on the individual strands of wire all right there we go okay and so now we got to get this wire into the XT30 just right and now it's actually a little bit
[01:03:46] harder because the other one is in there so be as patient as you can let's get the I'm going to put the Omni fixo here this is difficult we'll get it though deep breaths when you're doing
[01:04:06] this [@$#%] man it's frustrating it's frustrating for everybody but it's worth it to do a good job all right there it is and in in in in in
[01:04:26] good deal that is I've got the Omni fixo a little too far forward let's just scooch it back a little bit much better and then it's wanting to kind of fall out of there I think because of the
[01:04:45] weight of the battery so let me take one of these off here and I'm going to use this one to lift the battery up a little bit there we go and now it's not it's not trying to pull it out of there
[01:05:04] anymore but it did shift a little bit so let me just move this this is what you should be spending the majority of your time on right here the majority of your time should not be
[01:05:21] spent with the soldering iron in your hand this needs to be perfect and the soldering iron comes in quickly just to provide the Heat this is the most important part right here
[01:05:35] though the better the prep the better the soldering job like a lot of things right it's in the prep all right that's looking pretty good I just I want to make sure
[01:05:53] that the wire is in there as far as it will go and that's a little bit tough because a there we go that's it there it is okay perfect and so now we're going to take the whole thing
[01:06:18] rotate it and now we can bring the heat in from one side feed the solder in from the other side and get a really nice joint here away we go and so the solder is only sticking to
[01:06:35] the wires and it's already flowing I run my soldering iron at 700° F that's a little bit high but I've been doing this for long enough where I can get the job done quickly also it's in the prep if
[01:06:49] you prep it correctly you should not have to spend much time on the joint and that's what you want there we go that one's looking really good it'll be pretty hot even if you
[01:07:01] are quick so just give it a split second and it didn't melt the it didn't melt the shrink wrap as much this time but it still did melt it a little bit and it looks like the the
[01:07:12] positive wire is a little bit longer than the negative wire so it's a little bit ugly here but whatever not a whole hell of a lot I can do about that so there we go let's get this
[01:07:24] shrink wrap stretched back out this is going to be a lot easier this time because it didn't shrink up as much hold on get this all the way through actually what I think
[01:07:46] I'm okay I think I can just force it up force it down over this joint let's see good to go cool all right so there's that and here you go nice smooth shiny joint all the way
[01:08:18] around we've got them completely isolated from one another and now we're going to take a bigger piece of shrink wrap and put it over the whole damn thing which is going to make it a little
[01:08:31] bit easier to grip when you unplug this neither one of these brass collars got pushed out of here or anything because I had this plugged in th having the other side plugged in also
[01:08:43] acts as like a little bit of a like a heat sink kind of if you if you catch my drift so now grab a piece of whatever color that's a little bit too small this is
[01:09:04] perfect this the the bigger shrink wrap I actually like to cut it with scissors so that you don't get a seam in it and you don't want this to be very long so just about
[01:09:21] there right and so we're going to go over that just all right the other thing that this does is that it's makes this joint let me stop talking so I stop
[01:09:48] blowing out the flame it makes those joints that you've just created A Little Bit Stronger so that when you when you're bending the battery around the the shrink wrap takes some of
[01:10:05] that bend make sense there we go hopefully I put the positive on the correct side I think I did let's see cool one pH 2.0 battery I have no idea why they would do a 2S pH 2.0
[01:10:28] battery that seems completely insane to me but I'm sure in the olden days of FPV there were rigs that would that would use that setup let me get this over on the charger we'll see if it
[01:10:43] explodes I think there's a there's another piece of shrink WRA here stuck to me nope I just found it all right look at that little guy that little devil o ooh o let's weigh
[01:10:55] this let's weigh this let's see what the weight penalty is over BT 3.0 so this is a 300 m2s just like the tiny whoop batteries they look awfully similar I will say the tiny whoop batter is a
[01:11:10] little bit smaller it was It was kind of wobbling around in here Denzel the terrible says did you forget the back cover for those xd30 connectors I've never seen an XT30 with
[01:11:22] a back cover I've only ever seen XT60 with that with that back cover and matter of fact I don't think that there is a back cover for XT30 is cuz there's not that extra little Notch for it have
[01:11:35] you seen XT30 is with that extra little piece that would be cool I little extra piece tiny whoop 300mah 2S with BT 3.0 15.3 gram handmade with XT60 17.3 two grams that's that's
[01:11:53] absolutely not nothing but I'm glad it's not more than 2 gram but tiny whoop 300mah 2S with BT 3.0 is definitely the way to go if possible all right hang
[01:12:19] on all right let's see if it blows up it didn't blow up a [@$#%] one of the cells is at two volts though God damn it are you kidding me maybe it'll oh it's bringing it
[01:12:46] back up that is a bad sign though oh [@$#%] it's on four amps no no no no no easy easy easy little fella Jesus 6 amps well I'll tell you what that jump started that one cell
[01:13:15] back to life that's for goddamn sure that cell went from 2.1 it was like it was like 2.1 2.8 3.2 3.5 I was like oh what and it was like bang bang bang bang bang oh Christ oh man are you Ser that
[01:13:36] that battery is not going to be great I don't feel like doing I mean no it's already 820 I I can't do another one of those batteries that's fine all right let's get going on the the
[01:13:48] actual rig itself so since this is kind of sort of a BNF the XT30 is already on Motors are already installed plugged in all we really need to figure out is what orientation
[01:14:00] we're going to put this VTX in so one of the might as well get this plugged in now H well so I kind of I need to look up the pin out here to make sure that the that
[01:14:18] the plug is going to be correct so we're going to go Mobula 704 and hopefully they'll give us the pin out I'm not g to say it but what I'm thinking
[01:14:56] oh don't you dare all right hold on flight what's the name of the flight controller HappyModel what is the name of this flight controller here we go crazy f45 HD
[01:15:30] elrs flight controller so the reason it's not giving me the pin out is because these are this is a BNF page so if but if we search for that flight controller crazy f405 HD elrs yep
[01:15:45] here we go now we can get the pin out on the plug right there let me just make sure that this looks the same those plugs are there yes this is the right one
[01:16:04] so what do we got sbus ground rxtx so now I'm going to take a look at the cable I'm going to have to push this aiio up a little bit to get access to this plug header doing that now all
[01:16:21] right so there we go okay so back battery positive is all the way on the one side there so on this plug that's there the pins are up okay so
[01:16:43] positive the main thing that I want to make sure is that I'm sending battery voltage and ground to the right spot so battery voltage ground and then I've got tx1 is white it looks
[01:16:56] like RX1 is gray there's another ground which they have here on here as like a brown connector and then that SBS is yellow so the battery and ground are correct on this particular plug that I'm
[01:17:12] holding in my hand so I'm going to plug this in to the AIO and then we're going to do the same exercise on the on the VTX this is important never ever ever just plug this [@$#%] in assuming that
[01:17:30] they gave you the right cable because 100% of the time that you do that they will have given you the wrong cable oh boy this is going to push into that duct good and
[01:17:49] hard I might switch out well now let's build it as it is and then if we have if we have tune and vibration problems this is probably going to be the first thing that I troubleshoot let
[01:18:12] me show you what I'm looking at here so once I have a plug in there that's G to push into that duct pretty aggressively right see that and so this this AIO is going to be kind of sort of hard mounted
[01:18:32] by the time I push down on this the option is to run grommets on here that are thicker on the bottom than on the top but again let's just do this as it is I I'll bet you this is how they're
[01:18:47] shipping the The Binding flies out and we'll see how it is on the 2g4 the camera plug does something similar it pushes into the into the duct a little bit and the 2g4 is completely
[01:19:03] fine I don't love this but let's just build it as is and then we'll we'll dial it in from there and so there it is that's on there it's not hitting as bad as I thought it's not like bending
[01:19:25] the duct in which is good so well we'll see we'll see I'm a little skeptical but we'll see okay so now we've got this big long cable I'm because of the length of this cable
[01:19:46] I immediately well the cable's sitting up on top that's going to make this even taller but like I immediately want to put the other side of the jst all the way across here so that I can eat up the
[01:20:00] length of this Cable in between so let's see what that let's just take a look at that so if I the other option is to run that cable down underneath looks like there's enough
[01:20:18] space but let's just let's just take a look at this first and so if I do that if I put the jst as far away as I possibly can that's going to make it that's going to make us run it like
[01:20:31] this and so let's just see what that's what that's like so put this down here oh boy I don't know about that so if I do that the main big ass chip on this VTX is right
[01:20:56] on top of that which I don't love so let's rotate it a different direction and see what's up so this is going like 90 Dees to the right let's see what this is
[01:21:16] about I think I'm going to run these cables under no the the cables being routed up on top that's not it that's not the way to do it we're going to run these cables
[01:21:34] down let's kick this up and fix that I'm willing to bet that that's how they ship it so we're going to pick this AIO all the way up and then we're going to Route these
[01:21:52] cables down and there's plenty of space down there so this is this should be completely fine let get up in here pull this through and for right now I'm just trying to get it I just want to get that
[01:22:14] 90 well I'm going to need to Route it back up before I do that but I just want to get this 90 Dee angle going in the opposite direction so there we go that might
[01:22:30] actually make it n it's actually the same it's still going to push into the duct okay so there we go so now we're going down with it let's figure out how I want to rotate
[01:22:43] this because however I rotate this that's going to determine where it comes back up which corner it comes back up so the highest point is this plug header I don't love that plug header being so
[01:22:57] close to the main chip so but we also need to keep in mind the the length of the camera cable so the camera is going to run up into the thing so that's kind of fine and then that's on the back
[01:23:12] that's there whatever that doesn't really matter what if we rotate it like this so if we go counterclockwise now there's a Big Blob of stuff this is this is looking good somebody mentioned
[01:23:25] that in chat this Big Blob being up against that I kind of because this blob is like a soft almost E6000 that's probably what I'm going to put here let's make sure everything else
[01:23:37] jives so if we do that USB port is back camera plug is here that's fine plenty of space actually almost too much space for the camera but I could I could probably gobble some of it up like that
[01:23:53] you USB port on the back where's that bind button bind button is up front when I look at the canopy let's just test fit the canopy here this standoff is not super close
[01:24:10] to that bind button so that's kind of nice back of the canopy is kind of on that but I think that's going to be I think that's going to be it and then the UF SP for the antenna is up here I got a
[01:24:27] little micro here run it peek it out the canopy let's do it like this I think alternatively if we do it I don't love this because then we've got way too much H we could eat up
[01:24:45] the camera cable I mean that would kind of work oh but look there's a there's a there's a I think this is a voltage regulator here there's a chip that would be right on top of that that's a little
[01:24:58] bit taller and so I don't want that I don't want that so then the last option is like this with the myy above it this would work there's no tall chips here above that the camera
[01:25:14] cable that would work the UFL antenna UFL for the video antenna is kind of annoying it's in the back so it's going to have to go forward I don't think I as much we're going to
[01:25:27] go 180° like this where we've got this Big Blob of like E6000 or something above that jst that gives me a little bit of smush too there let me just check though let me do it the so there's there's two
[01:25:51] orientations that make the most sense that that way and this way this way I've got a little bit more space but there's not that nice blob of whatever the hell it is E6000 maybe
[01:26:06] that's going to act like a shock absorber if if those two things do hit each other so I I'm going to do that so now let's just get this okay so now I need to take a look at where this
[01:26:19] plug needs to come up so we've got that and so it needs to come up back here all right so oh that sucks that's right on top of the the power lead but it'll be fine so now we just need to
[01:26:35] fish this down and through make sure that the wire's not getting twisted down in there and so figured out which way I want to Route the power lead and that so I want it down
[01:26:57] like this and then so if the batter is in here like this just dry fit this real quick and then the battery lead is there it kind of plugs in there that should be fine that should be fine
[01:27:16] the other option is to reverse these two leads and then that's going to want to put no this is the way to do it Yep this is the way to do it cool so now we need to check the the
[01:27:41] pinout for the 04 I think there's a little instruction manual in the box but DJI o for wiring just take a real quick look I think this is the one no that's the
[01:28:04] pro oh really somebody taking a picture of the oh that's the pro two damn you all right hold on it's probably in the Box it better be in the box there is a piece of paper in the
[01:28:33] box all right so we've got when looking at it from the top the pins are up so on this guy we want the pins to be up as well oh I'm going to have to put a Twist in this thing boy is that annoying all
[01:29:04] right so if the pins are up it's okay and so we've got from the left to right we've got voltage ground RX white TX gray another ground Brown sbus yellow fantastic all right so we're good
[01:29:23] we are safe first time for everything though I don't have to repin this [@$#%] thank you HappyModel thank you DJI okay come on get in there Uriel says with soldering iron make a
[01:29:52] dent in the duct Maybe if if we run into issues issues but right now we're going to leave it and see how it is I'm very curious Dave says remove sbos and ground if you want to there's
[01:30:04] really no reason for them but I'm I I'm it's it'll be all right it'll be all right so I got to put a 180° twist in this wire because of the way that it's going to sort of plug in here so
[01:30:18] let's do that pins up and then I'm going to put the little I'm just going to force the little 90° Bend into this all right good deal let's get this Els antenna out of
[01:30:33] the way here that'll be fine all right so we're dropping this guy in he's going to go over there and so let's get this plugged come on awesome right good that's
[01:31:07] buried and now let's put the AO back down on the posts I didn't realize it was sitting up on the posts I should have done this before but we can just use the double stack to kind of push it down
[01:31:25] down there it goes all right that looks good get it down the rest of the way and all right before I push it all the way down let me stack these one more time and just take a look at the Gap in
[01:31:44] between them I'm mainly looking at the front part here we're fine that's enough of a gap okay so this is going to be fine good at this point I'm actually going to pick this VTX up a little bit and
[01:32:01] then push this AO down as far as it'll go to make sure it bottoms out there it is HappyModel made the the posts a little bit longer which is really really nice that's going to give more
[01:32:15] strength for the long screws that we're putting through but it also makes these things it makes it so that like right now I can push this down let me show you let me show you what I
[01:32:30] mean see there's that extra post sticking up if I was to run a grommet on the flight controller that was longer on one side than the other it would use that extra post but this is cool because
[01:32:42] now I can push this down on there and it'll kind of stay the WalkSnail builds like the the top the VTX board just like sits all janky and it's kind of annoying during
[01:32:55] the build process not the end of the world but it's a nice little thing that they made those posts longer the big thing is that by making those posts longer it'll engage more of the screw so
[01:33:04] it'll be a little bit stronger but during the build process here it's actually kind of nice as well all right so that's tucked in there we got that extra wire on the
[01:33:16] bottom here we can just kind of push that over a little bit make sure it's not in the way of the battery should be totally fine though and then when I look down here at
[01:33:26] those wires that are pushing into the frame it's really not bad it's not pushing the duct out of round so I don't know might be totally fine cool that's good to go there
[01:33:39] this is their canopy there are no screw holes it's appears that this thing just snaps in here there's a couple little like latches on the side little pieces of plastic let's see
[01:33:54] I think you just like kind of pull the sides out a little bit and then it seems it's just going to pop in there so you want to pull the sides out like this to get those latches out
[01:34:14] of the way but it's a little difficult you need like a an extra hand but I can probably just mash it and it'll be fine being as careful as I can of this here not to
[01:34:29] pull in this although I I got that Big B to E6000 so it should be totally fine I think I'm trying to put it in too far back I want to push it farther forward come on this canopy looks really
[01:34:47] nice actually I have high hopes that this will be like the canopy ah look at that yep I just had to I don't know push on it and ah I see okay so those latches go they go back behind is that what I'm
[01:35:11] seeing here did the one break off hold on let me see it didn't break off but it folded which is not ideal hold on let me take a look do I have this set
[01:35:33] properly I pushed on it a little bit too hard I think and it like kind of folded forward let me see if I can fix it let's just pull this piece of plastic back here I'm trying to see if they
[01:35:54] there's like a little grid almost where do they go where do those little latches go hold on this is interesting I mean I obviously have it right because the lens is centered now
[01:36:13] but I might not have it far enough forward let me try pushing it forward a little bit I didn't have it far enough forward okay I see I see so the plastic
[01:36:25] bastards go back behind the the rear PCB and you just got to make sure you don't have them fold forward this is not my favorite design but I mean it'll probably work
[01:36:53] completely fine I'm going to show you guys in one second but I just want to get these little plastic latches in the right spot so that it makes sense I don't know how you would I
[01:37:08] don't know what the best way would be to get this camera into there without bending those little plastic guys but I mean they bent right back and it fits in here really really nice
[01:37:21] so I think it's fine all right here's what it is so there on the left and right are the little plastic latches that I was telling you about and when I pushed it in they just kind of bent down next
[01:37:40] to the camera but then I just pulled them back out and now it's totally fine tonian saysstop and flip the camera I have the camera in there upside down God damn it why would they oh because
[01:37:51] the the plug is going to push into the board oh thank you chonan all right well now we get to really stress test these little plastic bastards because I'm GNA have to take
[01:38:07] this out oh it actually comes out totally fine all right yep so it's the first time you put it in that's the most sort of stressful all right so there we go let's do it
[01:38:26] right this time so I think the right way to do it is to slide the camera in like this like to push the camera forward and I got to be honest I don't think there's a great way of doing this this
[01:38:42] is a an interesting canopy design let me really like filet this thing opened see if I can kind of hold it with with both let's see if that works that might be the move it's nice malleable
[01:39:04] plastic like I don't feel like I'm about to break it doing this but it's just it's hard to like I'm sure there's a super slick way of doing this that I'll figure out the
[01:39:16] fourth time that I have to do it but for right now this is a bit fiddly if I'm honest oh okay no it's super easy you just it was what I was saying you just kind of fet it outwards you
[01:39:32] just got to be a little bit forceful with the plastic okay that's pretty easy cool and so then you just push the camera forward there's a really nice lip that the that it just kind of
[01:39:49] pushes into and then the little plastic guys so let me show you one more time those little plastic jibjabs just kind of they didn't fold the wrong way this time which is
[01:40:01] nice see them little plastic guys just kind of force it forward and so and then the the camera fits really nicely into this molded canopy awesome and so now now that cable
[01:40:16] is not pointing downwards right if that cable was pointing downwards it would be pushing into the into the VTX which would be no good so all right now we've got to run I
[01:40:30] can hear the battery beeping away back there that's awesome so we've got I'm going to run the camera cable out the right side here which is going to sort of put it in the right direction I'm going to take
[01:40:43] this elrs antenna I'm going to tuck it up into the canopy there's a nice little spot for it on the side there there's even a nice little hole for it to peek out here which is super
[01:40:59] cool get that tucked up next to the VTX real nice camera cable let's get you I'm actually going to run it I'm going to let it stick out the back a little bit this
[01:41:14] will be fine and then no h what am I going to do with this camera cable try forcing it to the right again what I don't want is for it to get down into the propellers and it is kind
[01:41:39] of trying to so let's do this let's tuck it in that's the way to do it that's the way to do it all right let me get this elrs antenna situated again with the elrs antenna what I basically
[01:41:53] just try to do is get it as vertical as possible and I I usually end up running it through the front part of the frame which is really really nice and so that's actually pretty good the
[01:42:05] way that it's set up there I'll show you in a minute all right so that's looking good let's get the video antenna on here and we're going to run that through the hole in the top of the
[01:42:21] canopy where is it here it is all right so they've got a nice hole right back here that's kind of obscured by the camera cable at the moment let's see if I can just mash it out of the
[01:42:34] way might be able to no pre-tension that camera cable up a little bit now I can mash it come on she's mashing it all right just get it out of the way a little bit
[01:42:59] more now we'll try to mash it again ah all right so let's hold this down we'll run this and then we'll come back ooh okay that's a little tight up there hm
[01:43:24] all right hold on we might not be running this oh no we're good we're good we're totally fine okay so this is going to go there get this elrs antenna thread it up
[01:43:42] through here again okay and now let's get this micro plugged in real quick snap that little fella down come on yep that's good to go okay camera plug is
[01:44:11] fine camera cable is fighting me a little bit but I think I just got it yep there we go all right so that's looking all right this is looking all right healer antenna is being a jerk
[01:44:31] let's just get that situated come on okay what's it's seems it's sitting up on something is it the it's the Els in antenna it's not it's not wantan to go where I want it
[01:44:57] to go come on you little bastard get in there there's a nice little spot for it to go but it's just it's like catching it'll be fine in one second ready 1
[01:45:20] 1,000 go through this there there it is all right so they give some screws let's see what length they are why is this canopy sitting so weird the canopy is like filleted out maybe
[01:45:57] because of those plastic bits the camera might not be sitting far enough forward hold on I I thought it was something different well I unplugged the UFL and it didn't pop off
[01:46:16] so that's good let me see get this UFL out of here and let's just check that this camera is sitting as far forward as it needs to in this canopy I think it
[01:46:39] is I'm just pushing the camera forward basically okay well I think it's all right all right well let's give it another try it's fairly the the canopy is fairly thin
[01:47:15] plastic but like the design of it seems to be pretty good I I I think it should be pretty strong HappyModel is arguably the best at designing these canopies to be strong enough but also
[01:47:30] lightweight I like the plastic that they use it's like a like a softer plastic it's not brittle the the Mobula 6 ball sack canopy is like such a perfect example of how durable things can be that are not
[01:47:47] super heavy although I mean it is one of the more heavy In fairness it is one of the more heavy canopies but it's also the most durable canopy and so the weight is a sign of
[01:48:02] reliability as always as we all know okay micro is snapped in there camera cable is going to need a little bit of love but that's okay let's just get this routed here first
[01:48:17] and okay the screws that they give so these are m1.2 2 x 12 these are available maybe still on my atsy store they might have sold out they
[01:48:34] give it looks like m1.2 by1 they give m1.2 X10 screws with these canopies so I'm going to stick with the by 12s I'm going to run the slightly longer screws which are going to give a
[01:48:47] little bit of extra strength and so I've got a couple of these here let's put the front one in first and then we'll see what's what with the
[01:49:06] rest the holes in the canopy are I wish they were a tiny little bit bigger but it'll be all right oh man it's already engaging there's going to be a ton of this
[01:49:18] screw engaged on that plastic post this is going to be nice and strong I don't think we'll have to worry about those plastic posts breaking off all right so that feels really good
[01:49:30] this guy's sitting in here just fine so let's get this camera cable situated here I just want to keep just move it forward a little bit that's good there we
[01:49:47] go brand Bean says what goggles did you go with for this I am borrowing a set of goggles 2 which is awesome because I'll get to see how they are see how they fit my
[01:50:03] face I still don't know what I'm going to do I'm super weirded out by the goggles 3 having that like built-in battery situation I know that there's ways around it but I don't
[01:50:15] know I I'm hoping that the goggles to are good enough because I can hopefully snap magga Set for a little bit of a discount over new and
[01:50:35] uh that would be cool sweet all right front and back are screwed in they've put just enough of a spacer on here where it clears this plug which is pretty
[01:50:48] awesome it's completely clear clear this canopy is completely clear of the bind button which is great this is a this is I like this canopy a lot this might be the one it's hopefully it's durable I
[01:51:05] think it will be because it's nice soft plastic but they've designed like the the ears of the canopy here to be nice and thin so that they're not touching parts of the board chips on the board
[01:51:21] which is really really important there's already been people breaking off chips on their 04 vtx's I can hear the battery beeping away over there on the
[01:51:34] charger I don't know if we're going to get to fly this tonight though it's almost 9 o'cl already who's that what's up little boo yes no I'm just down here talking to myself Brewsters it's February you want ice
[01:51:52] cream you're a crazy person you don't have to whisper oh this canopy is awesome what's your mom doing watching if you don't stop Whispering I'm G to punch you in
[01:52:14] public oh my God Uriel tonight is not a dancing night Saturday nights Sunday nights and Wednesday nights are sometimes Tuesday nights as well you want ice cream why
[01:52:33] don't we go to the grocery store instead we need there's lots of groceries that we need we were we were watching chwa what chwa chwa can I show you I have to go to YouTube I'm done oh
[01:52:52] my God the whispering all right here we go last screw into the canopy let's see how solid this thing is ice cream is a great idea no it's not danilla you son of a [@$#%] don't don't
[01:53:09] be on her side no it's a good idea no it is Jesus it's a good idea all right last screw let's see how this thing feels once it's all once the hatches are all battened down
[01:53:22] how loud is this I mean don't hit play because it might blast and no and I'll get copyright struck and then I'll have to attack you in public oh okay chawa huh your mom was watching
[01:53:38] chawa with you that's awful nice of her no she likes it really or she just told you that she likes it no she was watching and she laughed and stuff oh okay so she likes when you're screw
[01:53:52] SC these in guys if if there's not like a good amount of resistance pull on the screw what can very easily happen is you you can be screwing it in between the plastic post and the rubber which is
[01:54:08] exactly what just happened here see I'm able to just pull it out why are you touching my foot with your phone why are you touching my phone with your foot so we got to back this out
[01:54:24] what are you do to my phone put my phone down I don't trust you an infinite number this keeps wanting to go between the plastic nope nope nope there it goes you can there's just a difference when
[01:54:44] it goes when it actually threads into the plastic you guys will you've probably already dealt with this don't overtighten these you don't want to squish these down too far
[01:54:54] and take up that Gap from the one to the other where's that coming from there's a duck there's a 9:00 duck well there we go friends support stop supporting little boo you
[01:55:16] bastards what what ah that's a good woman right there are you watching the stream is that how you [Laughter] knew oh man she's the best I love when I love when Florence a zilia be hanging
[01:55:41] out there it is that's it let's get a wait let's see what it ways I can't fly it for you guys anyway I don't have a way of displaying 04 through the live stream
[01:56:00] so I will get some DVR of it tomorrow hopefully and what I'll probably do is throw a quick post up on patreon with the DVR and so head on over to cpb.com click the patreon button and give me $3 and
[01:56:19] then you'll get to see it see some DVR it also helps me the more patrons there are the more of these 04 light air units I can buy and the more testing we can do how about
[01:56:34] that all right so I'm just making sure this camera cable is not too like under stress 38 gram exactly right on the nose 38 what did the what did the WalkSnail rigs used to weigh they weren't
[01:56:50] that much heavier than that were they or I'm s they weren't that much lighter than that were they I sent all the broken WalkSnail s off so I can't really weigh
[01:57:01] one 38 that's not too bad Morton upshot says gorilla whooped the ice cream store nice davs says plug plug goggles into phone to display it and put it in front of the
[01:57:14] camera uel says the elrs is a fight chonan says my 75mm is 36.2 or something is that a 04 or is that WalkSnail Willie Summit says wouldn't 12 mm screws make base of post brittle
[01:57:33] no if if the screws are long enough so the way you want to think about the posts right is that the posts are anchored into a flat piece of plastic and so if you can get the screw far
[01:57:46] enough down you can actually drive that screw down into that flat plastic and then you'll never break that post off right the higher up the screw is in that post the more it can like bend the the
[01:58:00] post and that's where you'll see the post break that you'll break the post like in the middle or towards the bottom but ideally if you can get a long enough screw you go all the way down
[01:58:09] into the plast into the flat plastic on the bottom and when I do that they the frames never ever ever break so the longer the screw the better to engage more of that post and to to
[01:58:21] really get down in there rotor Riot canopy 04 very cool this is a big heavy frame right this is a frame for these big ass propellers these are big old 1102 Motors so this thing is in theory going to
[01:58:40] have a bunch of power let's let's just really quickly let's let's dump it into BetaFlight let's see if I can drop a binding phrase into it and if I can do this in a couple of
[01:58:59] minutes let's see what happens here BetaFlight close a couple these tabs here okay come on BetaFlight connect oh man I'm gonna have to do all the things nose down up left right y'all
[01:59:19] left y'all right looks good ports shouldn't need the touch configuration oh wow it's a BMI gyro that stinks that's okay though turn these two on air mode permanent OSD
[01:59:30] that's fine 180 good save and reboot come on come on come on Power and Battery whatever fail safe whatever I might as well change it save and
[01:59:49] reboot come on come on come on connect pit T wow this comes with pretty whoa a very aggressive tune on it Jesus Christ Master multipliers all the way up at 1.5 and then the damping and
[02:00:04] tracking sliders are at 1.4 1.3 I love to see that ratio dshot Telemetry is off that's weird what's that about fellas actual rates wow low great a very specific build on here no
[02:00:28] Expo of course all right rates are dialed wow this looks so weird without the RPM filtering why don't they have the RPM filtering turned on that is ultra weird I don't really like to fly rigs
[02:00:45] without it so this is on 4.5.1 that's pretty cool oh it setup props out that's a shame that's okay though well that battery is charged let's plug the battery in and see if it has a version of Blue Jay that
[02:01:09] has dshot Telemetry working oh boy this XD 30 is woo hard to get unplugged holy [@$#%] oh my God what the hell all right let's just see plugging in for the first time
[02:01:49] hopefully it doesn't blow up let's see 3 two well I can use the short stopper I think the short stopper goes down to 2S doesn't it's XT30 there's a nice thing about
[02:02:00] xt30 let's use the short stopper and right plugged into the quad plug into the battery and push the button nothing happened oh wait no something did happen A different light turned on let's
[02:02:29] see what oh I got to reboot it because I turned on oh we got some we got some ESC beeps that's a good sign connecting Motors we don't have any airor that's a good sign
[02:02:44] hey and this smoke stopper tripped cool smoke stopper on a tiny whoopKick this back on we're good oh just tripped one more time so we have no error so that's good
[02:03:06] so it's got a version of Blue Jay that's compatible awesome turn the short stopper off unplug it I'm not going to update bluej I'm just going to go right into
[02:03:18] the I'm going to go right into the the I can weigh one of the canopies the canopy is going to be light I can tell you it's probably going to be the lightest of the canopies
[02:03:32] there is like nothing to it and it's a very thin plastic but it's molded so it should be really strong I have really high hopes for this canopy the canopy is
[02:03:53] oh my God 0 n of a gram 0 n grams this is whoa I hope it's I hope it's durable enough I really really really do even if it's not durable enough I I might be willing to
[02:04:05] just buy a bunch of them at that weight and just I mean the camera just snaps right in we'll see I I one of the question marks is going to be does the camera pop out like those little plastic
[02:04:16] latches on the back they don't look like the most secure things in the world but I mean you never know receiver balls it's in Wi-Fi mode let me try this phone trick going
[02:04:31] on my phone and going to settings and Wifi express lrs RX weak security all right come on do the thing pop up on the screen move this there it is my God that's nice Why did
[02:04:55] no one tell me this earlier Ciotti I'm pretty sure you guys did CiottiFPV save and reboot save and reboot save and reboot do I need to push harder on the screen is

[02:07:06] thing there it is let's cycle zip power okay try this again here Express LX lrs rather unable to join come on you can do this oh it's not even in Wi-Fi mode
[02:07:38] yet yeah come on come on come on come on come on come on come on start flashing you Bast well I can jump in I can jump back into BetaFlight and make another
[02:07:48] couple changes although I think we're probably okay I'll leave the OSD alone it's whatever Motors we're good there trans you don't need doesn't look like there is black oh
[02:08:01] there is Black Box I'll be damned okay okay okay start flashing there it is black box is wiped motor tab pids tab filters here we go now we got
[02:08:34] some RPM filtering Express lrs all right wow they've got the they've got the gyro filters turned all the way off that's pretty aggressive I don't know about that I don't know about all that
[02:08:57] um gonna about that oh my God they've got a ton of dterm filtering in here what a weird filter setup I'm going to turn this on and crank it all the way up I'd rather have
[02:09:14] a little bit of I'm able to connect to express lrs receiver but it's not popping the it's not popping the window up come on now work work turn the Wi-Fi off and on real
[02:09:41] quick off back on all right just give that a second Dynamic notch filter on 56060 minimum frequency what this is a weird filtering setup Express lrs says no internet
[02:10:05] connection I mean that's normal but why are you not opening the screen upwhy are you not doing the thing in the place all right let's just try this web flasher okay let me go back to the
[02:10:32] regular Wi-Fi on my phone receiver 353 that's fine Hardware vendor HappyModel there we go radio frequency 2.4 Hardware Target AO 2.4 next bind phrase I knew that it
[02:10:49] didn't save it flashing method BetaFlight pass through I am going to need to get out of here okay that's good BetaFlight pass through next BetaFlight paired
[02:11:10] connect fart wrong target selected what try again connect B flight connect blindly flashing now we're talking wrong target selected come on now device uses esp8285 firmware is
[02:11:40] esp32 what the hell does that mean h well maybe it maybe it wrote the The Binding phrase magically let's see if it's just magically bound never know stranger things have
[02:12:16] happened let's power cycle it BetaFlight doesn't even want to connect now here we go receiver nothing oh farts try this again receiver HappyModel
[02:12:57] 2.4 I mean there's only one target for AIO so it has to be this I wonder if this thing is so new that there needs to be another Target there or something bind phrase
[02:13:10] FCC don't need any of this flashing method BetaFlight pass through advaned settings we don't need next BetaFlight paired a [@$#%] still connected here connectBetaFlight
[02:13:33] connect Target mismatch doesn't Target interesting oh I can just do flash anyway [@$#%] it I'll try it this was a bad idea it said
[02:13:55] failed davs says don't pick AO it's likely a standalone receiver well interesting Express lrs strikes again it's not going into Wi-Fi mode I hope I didn't [@$#%] it up when when
[02:14:24] I disconnected it from from the phone let's see what happens here it's slow blinking red oh what it's in bind mode but it's not going to let me do
[02:14:39] the no it's not let me bind it since it's the first time powering on it's probably automatically finding it up in in the bind mode chonan found it in the documents it's the same
[02:14:50] Hardware as the ep1 receiver dude you're the man let's go previous and then so we want ep1 353 HappyModel 2.4 ep1 next binding phrase great nextBetaFlight
[02:15:17] connect wrong target H Target selected is have am EP 2400 let's take a look Mobula 7 HD nope I want hd4 let's do command F4 bind nothing what do you got come on tell me
[02:16:01] something tell me something now I don't want to do that H I can't bind with the CLI because I use I use a binding phrase and the the only problem with the Gemini module is that there's no
[02:16:30] screen and so the Lis script if you're using BNF you can't use the bind feature in the Lis script and so because this module does not have a screen there is literally no way for me
[02:16:43] to force this into binding mode it's kind of annoying tonian says it says in the document for the super xhd it is the same Hardware as the ep1 weird let's search
[02:17:04] for binding M 7 HD it is we've we've really run out of time here elrs strikes again sorry guys th this is just this is going to be at least another five or 10 minutes
[02:17:31] and then there's like at least another 10 minutes of getting this set up it's just don't blame me and take HD out of here it's just 04 right Mobula 704 there we go
[02:18:01] and it's brand new so Matthew says as have BetaFlight 4.4 with BetaFlight configurator version blah blah blah binding phrase can be set directly into the receiver tab in BetaFlight
[02:18:13] but look not with certain in this case no the option is not there it has to do with SPI or uarts or it's a it's a common thing with aios let me try my phone one more
[02:18:36] time Morton upshot is frustrated that I'm not good at elrs there are loads and loads and loads of people in the chat that also have just as many problems as I do with the lrs it is
[02:18:48] absolutely not just me I'm doing the exact same thing that you guys tell me to do and sometimes it just doesn't work so that's not me being an [@$#%] that's elrs being an
[02:18:58] [@$#%] so don't blame meit's in Wi-Fi mode I've selected Express lrs on my phone at this point I just have to wait for the thing to pop up and it is just not popping up
[02:19:15] there's nothing I can do this has nothing to do with me I'm doing the same exact thing every time the thing about elrs right is that like you do the same thing every time
[02:19:27] but sometimes it just doesn't work right like this and because of this module that I have I can't force it into bind mode that's another thing that that is not my fault it's not my fault that elrs
[02:19:41] leis script doesn't work when you're using the binding phrase I have nothing to do with that complain to elrs about that I I would love if the Gemini module had a screen but it doesn't
[02:19:54] that's not my fault either there's not a whole lot that that I can do here I'm not a developer I'm the farthest thing from it I mean it's in wifi
[02:20:37] mode oh my god oh I hate this so much ep2 let's try this let's go back to 3.5.0 Hardware vendor HappyModel ep1 ep2 next finding phrase okay it's not connected to Beta
[02:21:16] flight this is the one that I want connect no fa and I I I really don't want to flash anyway I feel like I already [@$#%] it up I don't want to [@$#%] it up even worse I'm done it's 9:30 it's
[02:21:34] been two and a half hours I'm hungry as [@$#%] I will figure something out I guess I don't know it's light the canopy looks really good
[02:21:53] I don't know this is super annoying all right my phone went back we're good sorry guys it's blame me if you want if it makes you feel better to blame me go right ahead but
[02:22:13] I I'm not like a super dumb person I'm also not a super smart person especially when it comes to computer stuff I I love Express lrs when it works but when it doesn't
[02:22:27] work not everybody in FPV is a developer not everybody in FPV is a [@$#%] genius and so this this just this just sucks and I know that they've made huge strides in in making
[02:22:41] it a lot better the the web flasher is usually works but this is this is just I don't know sorry guys I'll see you on Sunday at 3 here's me flying rip squeak around a n
