[00:03:12] what's up friends my name is Aaron Ciotti hopefully that wasn't sitting there crashed for too long everybody calls me Ciotti I mistimed it I mistimed everything I
[00:03:23] forgot actually I timed it okay but I forgot I didn't have water in here so I had to run upstairs welcome to Monday night fling fls the Ming bong Monday night Q&A we're
[00:03:43] gonna look at and edit some DJI 04 footage what you were just watching is some from the 1.6 in rig that's 20 gram lighter than the 2in build we've been talking a lot about these
[00:04:04] two guys versus one another and it's I I I've figured out like the the the props that I like on this and so I did four batteries on this today four batteries on this to really kind of dial
[00:04:18] in I I I I want to try not to leave these both together I I want to take one of these apart and just have one and so I'm trying to pick I think I might end up picking the
[00:04:29] two intrig just because it makes so much more power and it's going to push against the wind so much nicer this guy is so this is like a specific outdoor tool this is both inside out but I'm not
[00:04:47] going to fly the 04 system inside it doesn't necessarily make sense and if I do I'm going to do it on a 65mm rig eventually this BetaFPV odor will get to me and I'll be able to build that so
[00:04:59] I think this guy is actually going to be the one that comes apart which is kind of wild because this is incredibly F incredibly fun to fly in the front and backyard it's a bit much to fly
[00:05:12] inside the house though so I'll never fly it inside the house it's got too much power and it's too heavy like it'll break stuff is it flyable inside the house absolutely but you
[00:05:22] can't like rip inside the house you got to like be careful and that I I've that's not how I like to fly and so amazingly I think this is actually going to come apart well at
[00:05:35] least it'll get the 04 stolen from it I don't know what I'll do after that I I actually just got an email from WalkSnail about the eight broken vtx's that I sent them
[00:05:51] they're all like ready to go they're here one Vista with with the shell repaired $4 charge one Vista without the shell repaired $4 charge one 1S VTX free repair one walks
[00:06:12] snail V1 VTX unknown cause of failure replaced with good shell charge $2 One S Vista one Vista without shell two circuit boards damage cannot be repaired replacement cost $85 I won't
[00:06:25] do that I don't need Vistas that bad and there's a bunch of is that they were paired for $4 somehow one 1S VTX so these these ons vtx's these are the WalkSnail lights so
[00:06:40] one of them they repaired for free this one here 1S VTX Electronics component fell off and the pads fell off cannot be repaired replacement cost $45 okay oh this is this is kind of
[00:06:55] important here that first VTX that they did the free repair from for I bet you that's the one that the RX and the TX stopped working these other these next three numbers 2 three and four 1S vtx's that
[00:07:12] one there electronic components fell off and the pads fell off that's probably crash damage that one probably broke from Crash damage the next one 1 s VTX main control cracked cannot be
[00:07:26] repaired replacement cost $45 that's another crash damaged WalkSnail light that's I I'm okay with that right that means like I bashed it into something really hard too hard for that
[00:07:41] VTX to survive that PCB to survive WalkSnail is using the same thickness if the 04 if I slammed it that same amount of hardness with the same canopy we're going to talk about that in
[00:07:56] a second it would probably break as well so that's two of those WalkSnail lights that I bet you broke from just straight up crash damage and using the wrong canopy the old school Mobula 6
[00:08:13] canopy again we'll talk more about that in a second and then the last one 1X VTX main board burned power chip burned that's my fault replacement cost $45 that's the one that's the V1 that I
[00:08:27] fed more vol to than it could handle I assume that it was a V3 I forgot that the V1 WalkSnail light VTX you could only feed it 5 volt I think it is you couldn't feed it more than 5 volt the V3
[00:08:44] for sure maybe even the V2 you can feed it full 2S voltage and it's fine so that's interesting let's talk about the canopies lot of lot of people are having 04
[00:09:02] light a lot of people are breaking 04 light vtx's what I keep seeing is that they're using typically TPU canopies and with a TPU canopy when you crash inverted there's not a whole lot of protection
[00:09:20] right it's going to push right the the force is going to push the camera it's going to squish the TPU and the camera is going to smack into the board and it looks like
[00:09:31] using and so it's really matters what canopy you use the canopy needs to be strong which the old school Mobula 6 canopy is but what I bet you is happening is that the camera is smacking
[00:09:45] into the board the the old school Mobula 6 camera canopy the camera sits pretty low in the canopy the new mbula 704 this is basically just happy models DJI 04 canopy right it
[00:10:04] holds the camera up significantly higher and it's and it's really stiff like th this this canopy is great I I'm so so so impressed by this canopy canopy I have bashed the out of this thing
[00:10:19] out of both of these actually and the o4 is absolutely fine look how banged up this one is look how banged up the top of this canopy is is like I'm crashing this thing hard like four five batteries
[00:10:34] a day every day for the last like week and a half two weeks in the grand scheme of things that's not a ton of batteries I like stuff to last months but still like I have
[00:10:47] crashed the out of this thing and it is fine this one's starting to get a little bit beat up here too but not nearly as bad so on one hand on one hand we could say that with
[00:11:06] how many broken 04 light vtx's that we're seeing maybe they're actually not any more durable than the WalkSnail light system I don't know I I one of those of those four WalkSnail
[00:11:25] lights that I sent in one of them at total random the RX and TX just the beted on I thought that the other two I thought that they just died I didn't realize that components fell off
[00:11:43] and the main control was cracked those two are a total question mark the fourth one again I it was totally my fault but so those two are the question mark like I have a hard time
[00:12:00] I have a hard time believing that the the PCB itself like WalkSnail s PCB is not as strong as DJI right the PCB is as strong as it is thick the thicker it is the stronger it
[00:12:17] is so I don't know one of my main things one of the main things that turned me off so much to the WalkSnail light setup was that it seemed like it was kind of fragile I went through these
[00:12:28] four vtx's within a few months and I was getting really frustrated I've heard that from other people I've heard other people that have had problems with the WalkSnail light from a
[00:12:41] durability standpoint the' 04 light I've got two that are fine but that's way too small of a sample size and so I don't know it's kind of interesting I
[00:12:54] I it's I mean it's obviously too early to with the 04 light to be like yes it's durable no it's not durable but I don't care about like yes it's durable no it's not durable it's
[00:13:09] it's about comparing it to the WalkSnail light here's the problem though the WalkSnail light needs to be way more durable to offset all of the other advantages of 04 light you know
[00:13:27] what's what what's a little advantage of the go for light that's like kind of nothing but it's actually amazing when you get the footage off of this thing and you plug it into
[00:13:40] USBC a you don't have to power the whole quad up B it doesn't get hot I'm sorry but that is like a real actual advantage of this it is super annoying that with the WalkSnail light
[00:13:57] you have to power the quad up and it runs the VTX at full beans so you got to put a fan on it you got to like hurry up you got to have a battery that's fully charged cuz it's hammering on the
[00:14:07] battery is a pain in the ass with the with the WalkSnail light and you have to do that every single time is a legitimate like that's a legitimate thing
[00:14:22] that's just like ooh this is dumb 4K versus 1080 60 right better latency with the ' 04 because of race mode depending on what goggles you have there's a lot of benefits
[00:14:39] for to the' 04 light over the WalkSnail light in terms of just flying and just going out and having a good time sure the 04 you have the option of a little bit less latency but in terms of like image
[00:15:04] quality and the goggles there's not that much of a difference so I don't I don't know if I'm G to say this I I wouldn't buy a brand new WalkSnail light but if
[00:15:18] somebody was selling like a WalkSnail light or you can find it like a little bit cheaper like 60 bucks you're going to dig it six I would say like 60 to 80 what what do the walks
[00:15:30] snail light cost is it even called WalkSnail light is that what we're calling it's is see look it's $90 not like $90 is just it's a little bit too much it's a little too much
[00:15:47] compared to the ' 04 which is what 120 04 I can't search for light because nobody calls us the light 110 oh God see that's just oo if you already have WalkSnail
[00:16:14] goggles you're you're then also looking at having to sell them taking a loss and buying new set of goggles so that's rough dude it's only a $20
[00:16:31] difference o WalkSnail walks snail records 10860 and it looks really good the the the HD RC drift car edits that are here on my channel they look great I I don't
[00:16:49] think a single one of you when you watch those edits were like oh God this this image quality looks terrible it's a little tiny whoop like an in away from a 2in tall RC drift car
[00:17:03] like the fact that we can get any video of that is insane right these tiny little video systems in my opinion it's much less about the quality and much more about the fact that they exist and how light
[00:17:20] they are like you shouldn't be flying these things like a 5-in rig you should be flying them like a tiny whoop and if you fly them like a tiny whoop you're G to be like three millimeters away from
[00:17:32] something and nobody's gonna give a what the image quality looks like as long as it's not analog what I mean like you should be flying these things in a way that is in the same way that that we fly
[00:17:46] 5in rigs right like when we fly 5-in rigs we haul ass we we fire them up over a building we do all this stuff that's like completely insane and the viewer is like wow that's completely insane and
[00:18:00] like sure they notice the image quality but same kind of deal like you show somebody analog 5-inch footage and they're going to be like what is this rabbit ears Mickey Mouse you put
[00:18:11] HD on them and it's just like the the the quality of the image disappears right the what you're showing is like the insanity of being able to do something that we've never been able to
[00:18:24] do before right what was it previously helicopters you can't take a helicopter into a into the parking lot of a b into a business park parking lot and do front flips and so with these little
[00:18:36] bastards you should be doing the same thing right the the the reason to fly something small is to fly it small and if you fly this small you're going to be going under
[00:18:49] your monitor between the Monitor and the speaker and it's going to be like whoa what how the hell how did a camera just go do that right you're going to gu you're going to fly through the middle
[00:18:59] middle of your coffee table and analog footage is actually somewhat acceptable in in that setting because our brain is like well of course it's this big so the image quality is not going to be
[00:19:11] amazing as soon as we get 720 or 1080 it's like oh my God and I think that the the quality of the footage of the footage matters a lot less it's cool to have the extra quality but you
[00:19:25] know what I'm saying does that make sense am I making any sense to anyone so there's if you can get the WalkSnail light the WalkSnail Avatar light for like Max I would say $80
[00:19:42] realistically I'd be looking to try to get them for like 60 bucks I think that's a good deal and I think that makes sense and you're going to be happy flying it the latency is low enough
[00:19:54] the image quality in the goggles is great but boy oh boy for an extra $20 over what it costs new to be able to get all the advantages of the 04 light that's brutal that's pretty
[00:20:09] brutal WalkSnail will come out with something else this isn't like this isn't a conversation of like oh WalkSnail s in trouble I hope they die because it makes good ratings this this is just me kind
[00:20:25] of thinking through this stuff and giving you a bit of stream of Consciousness if I'm honest so tonight we're going to charge through some footage I've got a patreon specific edit done actually I
[00:20:39] I so I flew four batteries four batteries today and I had a lightning bolt hit my brain and I realized that something kind of cool and it and it turned out to be pretty cool so when
[00:20:55] you put these things in 100 frame per second 1080 mode so that you can get the lowest latency to fly the hardest possible freestyle you can you've now got 100 frames a second and then so if
[00:21:07] you're going to take that and run it at a at 100% speed and then put it into a 30 frame per second or even a 60 frame per second edit you lose a bunch of those frames right like every five
[00:21:19] frames or something it takes a frame out because you've got 100 and then you have to compress that down to 60 yes you can just slow it down but to leave it at 100% speed you lose frames and what that
[00:21:33] gives you is like and it gives you like this kind of jerkiness to the footage easy solution is to fly these things in 4k 60 frames a second but then you get
[00:21:50] significantly higher latency it's not that bad it's totally flyable but what I've been noticing lately is that and we were talking about this on my Discord a little bit earlier
[00:22:02] which is linked over on c fv.com what I'm realizing is that when I'm in 60 60 frames 4K I am having a hard time with consistency when I fly these things freestyle and what I where it really
[00:22:21] shows up is when I drop when I'm when I'm dropping elevation down at zero throttle and then I try to blast the throttle at the last second to just have it slam on the ground which I just
[00:22:32] think looks so cool and I'm having a real issue with inconsistency when I'm doing that where I'm giving it too much throttle and it's bouncing up or I'm hitting the ground one of the
[00:22:47] problems could absolutely be that I keep switching back and forth between these two and maybe if I flew 100 batteries in a row on this I would really dial in but I don't usually have this much of an
[00:22:58] issue with this and I fly a lot of I fly like the analog 2S rigs the the 0802 one then the 102 one then over to like analog stuff like I feel like I'm having more of a problem with these two than I
[00:23:15] do with kind of anything else most of the other stuff that I fly is on analog very low latency but consistent latency that's what I think might be going on here I have a funny feeling that the
[00:23:32] latency is moving around on these and that's what's kind of screwing me so I come down right in front of the front door to do it versus it happens like up the street a little bit and like
[00:23:45] I have a weird feeling that when I'm up the street a little bit I'm getting 40 milliseconds of latency but I'm when I'm right in front of the door I'm getting the the lowest latency whatever 22 or 24
[00:23:55] whatever the hell it is and so in thinking about all that I flew a couple batteries on these at 100 frames a second so that I would get the lowest possible latency and what I
[00:24:11] realized might be kind of cool for an edit is when you film in 100 frames a second if you then put your your if you want your edit to be 60 frames a second which is what I'm going to do here in
[00:24:22] this case you just run that footage at 60% speed and so now it's more of like an artsy kind of thing at this point right it's less of like a flight edit and more
[00:24:36] I don't know pick another word it's more artsy right it's not you're no longer like as much showcasing your flight skills you're more like making an actual like little tiny short film
[00:24:49] almost it almost starts to feel like story Telly hopefully you guys understand what I'm I I can't find the words for this but I think you guys know what I'm saying right but it's pretty
[00:25:01] cool and I did this little edit that's going to be a patreon specific edit which is like almost all the way through at 60 frames a second I'm going to redo this edit and take a large
[00:25:13] amount of that out and put that was it ended up just being like one battery it was one song and when you slow down when you slow flight footage you take two minutes of flight
[00:25:22] footage slow it down to 60 60% speed and now it's the length of an entire song so so it's like one battery I've got three more batteries of flying from this thing that I would like to put into
[00:25:33] this edit I'm doing the same thing that I did last week with the Mobula 704 edit showing how the Mobula 704 flies with this 45 mm frame prop combo I want to do the same thing for the 2in
[00:25:52] rig and for the 1.6 in rig so that you guys will have three separate edits with all three different prop sizes and you can watch each one and hopefully see sort of like the Dynamics the the float
[00:26:06] the speed all that stuff to make up your mind as to which size that you want to go with it's honestly though it's pretty simple the the 2in build is the best for pushing against the wind
[00:26:23] the 1.6 in build is the best for just shooting tiny little gaps and or flying inside and outside and then the 45mm setup is sort of somewhere in between the 45 mm setup it's even worse
[00:26:38] inside though you could argue that the 45mm setup really doesn't belong inside especially with how quickly I destroyed that set of Motors bouncing it off the walls flying it inside the motors
[00:26:50] that it came with and so you could kind of say that the the 45 mm setup which is the stock Mobula 74 is the king of like outside but small flying outside weaving in and out of
[00:27:05] bushes like flying really tight and Technical outside but not getting hammered with wind getting hammered with wind this 2-in setup is absolutely the best it's heavier it's got way more
[00:27:19] power these HappyModel 1103 11,000 KV Motors on 2S are awesome these geman 2023 s props are awesome this this has been really impressing me so the edit that I have done
[00:27:35] that we're going to look at a little bit in a little bit here is this guy but at the beginning of the live stream I was playing footage from this 1.6 which is really cool the the float that this
[00:27:45] thing has is is I really do it's got great power to weight ratio and so if you go Full Throttle you can like get from the bottom to the top of like an 80 foot tall tree pretty quick
[00:27:58] it doesn't this does not feel like an old school tiny whoop where like oh I want to do a Power Loop okay and it's on the ground already like it's not that it's it's
[00:28:12] not the forward back left and right kind of flying experience it's fully three-dimensional it's got throw it's got everything that you want from like a three-dimensional kind of build
[00:28:22] but when the wind blows on it's stops like when you're flying into the wind you start looking like damn near straight down just to push against the wind whereas this guy being 20 gram heavier
[00:28:35] it's just always going to be able to handle that better with again bigger Motors much more power so I think it's I I think it's fairly straightforward which one of these you
[00:28:45] go with but it'll be cool to have these three edits and I don't I I don't do much video editing because I drove it into the ground many many many many many many moons ago
[00:28:58] like in my 20s I did way too much video editing of Motorsport stuff and autocross and just general like Mustang Cobra and Miata videos and edits and I burned it out really
[00:29:14] really really bad in the early days of FPV for me then in my like late 30s I did a lot of editing and I burned it out again and so when it comes to like me editing actual flight footage I just
[00:29:28] don't do it very often because I'm just burned out on it like in my life and so I don't really like to do it I really I I don't like doing it but every once in a while I kind of like get the bug
[00:29:42] and I'll jump into it and do a little bit of it and right now I'm kind of into it so I'm going with it when like everyone like I try like once a month to just like open up a Premiere produ
[00:29:56] project and just like start poking around and if I start to like get frustrated and just not enjoy myself I'll just stop I'll be like nope I'll come back to it next month we'll see right now with
[00:30:08] that edit from a week ago it was a quick edit and it was just like there were only like four or five cuts but I had a good time doing it and so and when that happens I'm like all right let me
[00:30:20] let me just whatever is going on in my brain right now I'm not hating doing this and so it's like okay let me do it as much as I can right now until I hate it again and then I'll take another
[00:30:30] month or two off sometimes I end up taking six months off I I can't remember the last time I put an edit up an edit up prior to last week it was probably somewhere
[00:30:41] close to like four five or six months but that's just sort of what it is to have burnout I am going to get caught up on chat guys but I I go from the from the well let's let's
[00:30:56] let's just Dive In Spaceman spith was first in the chat Curtis Hayes Frank Nicholas Craig Matthew Wagner Brian Kirk Mike K Morton upshot juice Brian Kirk Flur and the blurk
[00:31:09] Flur and the blurk thank you for the Super Chat I'm G to read that in one second Curtis Hayes Frank Nicholas Capital C stick flick 70 Scotty Scott BMF Spade MC mucas Mr

[00:31:50] early type cfpv in your chat message it'll light up on orange for me I'll read your comment your chat post or whatever C fv.com is my website where you can support me I rely on your
[00:32:02] support to keep this thing going this is a totally crowdfunded thing this way when I review stuff and I say that it sucks I don't worry about the manufacturer not sending me any more of
[00:32:11] their stuff I don't ask them to send me stuff sometimes they send me their stuff whether I ask for it or not and that's great but by this being crowdfunded you guys don't have to worry
[00:32:23] like oh is he being soft on that product because he wants newbie drone to send him more stuff no you guys pay the bills so you get totally honest reviews always patreon helps me out the most
[00:32:36] three whole dollars a month that's 10 cents a day you can jump on there lot of benefits and as soon as I tell you not to buy something and you save 40 bucks or $50 how many months of of
[00:32:47] patreon did that just pay for you can't tell me that's not worth it bro you can't tell me that you haven't not bought something because I told you that it was a steaming pile of ass
[00:32:58] Fiverr you can work oneon-one with me if you want to learn a lot really fast Etsy has some fun stickers hardware and now now pin VI bro hold your your .99 millim and 1.47 mm drill bits in style
[00:33:17] with an awesome little pin Vie you can get it empty if you already have the drill bits or you can get it with the drill bits lots of other fun stuff on my Etsy store here get yourself some
[00:33:29] propellers there's a whole bunch of stickers on the second page do me a favor buy a sticker and then stick it on something and take a picture I'll I'll tag you on my Insta insta face
[00:33:41] there you go friends that's how you support me there's there's a bunch of affiliate links over there on the on the website as well there's a Teespring store and too get
[00:33:52] get I watched I watched a terrible movie last night it wasn't terrible it just it just frustrated me beyond the bounds of rational thought Leave the World Behind on Netflix Leave the World Behind
[00:34:13] on Netflix don't watch it unless you want to be frustrated if you want to be frustrated watch it's you'll see it's just it's about like the the world ending but like
[00:34:27] the the dialogue is just dumb like the script writing is just dumb and the the like I'm very tempted to ruin it for you to scream and yell about it but it's no some of you will
[00:34:46] watch it's not that bad if you want to watch something about the world ending since we're getting to watch it actually end maybe watch it but be ready to be frustrated for the
[00:34:56] record just be ready to be frustrated it's frustrating you'll see and then I started and then I watched the majority of living with yourself with Paul Rudd which I've
[00:35:09] been meaning to watch for a while I I I've set my Netflix raised their prices again like a month ago and I said nah you can't raise the price twice this frequently you so I
[00:35:21] canceled it and it so it runs out at the end of this month which is p perfect cuz somebody told me there was something really good on Apple TV and so I took this as a chance to you
[00:35:31] know give that to Netflix and cancel I'll be back but I'll take a little break and then I'll turn on Apple TV and then watch everything on Apple so I'm trying to watch a bunch of stuff on
[00:35:42] Netflix before I lose it for a couple of months here really really good the the living with yourself is super cool I I have two episodes left I'm looking forward to watching
[00:35:55] them tonight all right all right so in the chat Flur and the blurk thank you so much for the $5 Super Chat my friends it's beautiful people like you and everybody hanging that allowed me to do
[00:36:06] this fulltime and that's pretty rad can you recommend a 5 in one for 40,000 KV stick build stick build what's a stick build maybe I cooked it but I spent weeks trying to get my diamond F4 to
[00:36:18] pair to noil you're very lucky that the diamond F4 wouldn't pair because if you had got it I'm assuming you're you meant say bind if you had gotten it bound it would it's the worst AO
[00:36:32] of all time it's will you cannot like run it on Motors that are north of 19,000 KV because there's so much electrical noise it's just a terrible AO so throw that thing in the river it's
[00:36:42] more problem than it's worth the two the two best aios at the moment and this is an easy decision over on weed.com they have the HappyModel 2G 4 gram like George and it's
[00:37:00] $75 that is the most durable just non nonsense awesome AO that we've got 75 bucks is a little bit expensive but it's worth it because it's a known quantity we a ton of us have pounded the hell out
[00:37:17] of them for hundreds of batteries if not thousands of batteries and they just keep going forever for 40 bucks bet FPV has The Matrix 5 in1 AIO that's fairly new it seems like it's
[00:37:35] pretty durable it weighs the same as the 2g4 because it's a nice thick PCB which I think is the main reason that the 2g4 and that are very durable but it hasn't been out for very long so we
[00:37:49] don't know after 100 batteries they might all start exploding I don't think so I think it'll be plenty durable but it's just kind of early days so for $40 you're taking a little bit of a
[00:38:01] chance for $75 it's a total known quantity you can't go wrong with either one those are the two ones that you want the end there are lots of other aios available and they've all got weird
[00:38:13] nonsense issues ufls ripping off boards tacoing in half one of the really cool things about tiny whoops is that you can build them nowadays to be stupidly durable and fly flying inside
[00:38:28] your house is really difficult and so you're going to crash a lot and so building having durability high on the list of priorities for a tiny whoop in my opinion is super important and it's a
[00:38:42] big part of where the incredible fun of tiny whooping is when tiny whoops are not durable it's super annoying because they're already fiddly and small and stupid you kind of hate working on them
[00:38:56] and then like like and so if you have to work on them all the time it's dumb but also like if they're not durable you're not going to crash them hard and you're not going to be able to do really fun
[00:39:06] stuff in the house the only way to like put enough batteries in and push yourself beyond your limits a little bit beyond your limits enough to be able to learn to do power Loops through a gate
[00:39:18] this big hanging from your 8ot ceiling is to be able to crash the damn thing a thousand times in a row and I'm not even exaggerating a thousand times like I will crash a tiny whoop 10 to 20
[00:39:31] times per battery and so all I have to do is fly 100 batteries which is easy to get a thousand crashes and I will the the way that these 65 mil rigs are built like with a 2g4 or maybe a matrix
[00:39:45] cockroach V3 frame 0702 Motors Mobula 6 old school canopy the BetaFPV G string banana hammock canopy seems to be okay the HappyModel banana hammock canopy seems to be okay
[00:40:02] as well that setup of Parts on a tiny whoop you can literally put a thousand crashes through it and it'll be it'll be fine and eventually yes you'll bend a motor shaft especially when you get
[00:40:13] better and start crashing harder but it's wild and having that durability I'll say I'll say it this way I'm now completely spoiled by how nice it is to have a rig that's this
[00:40:29] durable and so when I go fly anything else specifically like 5 in and 3 in I'm like I have to change props again what is this I just changed props like two batteries ago that's insane
[00:40:43] like it's really really really spoiled me and it's and it makes it so obvious for me in in my approaching my mid-40s
[00:40:57] I want to fly I don't want to be around with these things like I I I don't have a I don't have like three four hour gaps of time that I can just go out and fly in like I'll get like a
[00:41:08] half an hour or like an hour that I can fly and I want to do as much flying in that time as possible I don't want to be around changing props over and over and over again changing arms
[00:41:19] and so durability has become I've become super spoiled by by tiny whoop durability so there you go my friend the Diamond Board will not be durable that's the other thing that the diamond
[00:41:29] boards are notorious for is you just like you it's sitting on the desk and you go like and it and it never works again like just just like just that is enough to break the Diamond
[00:41:41] Board that's how fragile it is it's they're insane God forbid like you yell at it God forbid it's on the desk and you're like you nope you'll have a you'll have a house fire on your
[00:41:50] hands Curtis hay says did Barda ask you to join him to drive sports cars in Vegas he did not I just found out that he was doing that I I think what he's doing I think what there's a bunch of
[00:42:03] companies that do this I don't know may maybe it's just me but there's a bunch of companies that do this and so and a bunch of my friends that from the autocross and track day world
[00:42:13] they've gone and done these these sports car driving events in in Vegas and they've been super disappointed because the the instructors that are in the car with you
[00:42:28] don't let you do jack and I hope that he's not going to one of those although like that's lunatics like me normal people Joshua is much more of a normal person than a complete Motorsport
[00:42:42] lunatic right normal people wouldn't probably even notice it's just those of us that like have fallen completely in love for how a car transforms when you get it be Beyond like 90% of its
[00:42:59] capabilities and that's what those companies won't let you do but again normal people will push a car to like 60 or 70% of his capab of its capabilities and they're like this is so much fun wow
[00:43:14] there's nothing wrong with it this is not me bashing on that like lucky lucky those people they get to have 10 the the car being at 70% of its potential for that for for more normal
[00:43:27] people they're at 100% of their enjoyment level it's us idiots that stay into this stay into Motorsports for so long that like at we're at like 40% of
[00:43:39] our of our happiness level when the car is at 70% when we get it to 80% we're at like 50% of our enjoyment level when we get it to 90 we're at like 70 maybe when we get it to 99% then we finally hit the
[00:43:54] the 100% enjoyment what I'm saying and so he'll he'll probably have an amazing time but I I have not had anybody in in my little crazy world go to one of those events and
[00:44:14] be like and be satisfied at all which I mean like you can't blame these companies one little bit right they cannot let people that they don't they don't know who I am right they cannot
[00:44:26] let me get in a car and go absolutely bananas if I was an instructor in one of those cars I absolutely wouldn't let anybody go even close to the to the limit of the car especially because
[00:44:36] they're they're Exotics right and so it's one of those kind of things where it's this is why Sims are great because in the Sim I can take a an Aston Martin Valkyrie and absolutely cane the
[00:44:53] out of it something that I'll pretty much never be able to do in the real world right with with almost any Exotics although I did get to drive a couple Exotics as an instructor
[00:45:04] way back when and it's cool it's not as cool as you'd think oddly enough like a really well-built Miata or EVO or a really well-built autocross or track day
[00:45:21] car that's got maybe 50 or 60 Grand in it is like 99% as fun as any of these Exotics it's kind of insane it's really ridiculous like you would think that Exotics were this like
[00:45:41] magical mystical thing but they some of them are some of them are but those are like the unattainable ones typically Mort opot says that footage is totally washed out so you got use
[00:45:56] you got too used to flying in cloud cover I am having a little bit of a hard time nailing the exposure on the 04 light camera system which makes sense it's not the big sensor
[00:46:13] of the 04 Pro any small sensor th this is the best of the small sensors I've ever seen but any small sensors let's see I'll put it this way if like if like a medium format camera
[00:46:29] like a red or an arri many thousands of dollars of camera if if they have this much D dynamic range they can capture the brightest brights and the darkest darks if you go down to
[00:46:42] a GoPro you have this much dynamic range if you go down to a tiny little sensor like these you have this much dynamic range and so all up here is like the sky and all down here is like the is is
[00:46:54] the shadows and so these tiny little sensors no matter what they're they're never going to have a massive dynamic range and so and what I'm what I think is happening here is that the image quality
[00:47:08] is so good from these things that you really notice it analog cameras don't have any better of a dynamic range but they look like such that you don't even notice that the sky all blown out
[00:47:21] cuz the sky is doing this and it's the pixels are moving all over the place right like as the image quality gets better you we become much more sensitive to losing highlights and losing Shadows
[00:47:35] the other thing that I keep screwing up is I'm well it's not me screwing up is that I'm manually I I'm setting these things to manual and I'm and I'm doing that on purpose right now eventually I
[00:47:51] might start running them in automatic because manually locking down your shutter speed in your ISO in the world of FPV is brutal we go from Bright brights to dark darks we make it
[00:48:06] really really really hard on the cameras and so that's why that's happening that's one of the main reasons that that's happening but I'm also I'm setting the exposure when it's sitting
[00:48:19] on the front porch and when it's sitting on the front porch it's looking up at the bottoms of trees and there's a little bit of the sky in the background but sun is like all the way over here
[00:48:28] I need to turn it towards the Sun a little bit but see the problem is if I expose for the sun and it doesn't look washed out then the ground is going to be too dark and
[00:48:39] and so it's the main issue is that I'm locking the the shutter and I and I'm just asking too much of a small sensor I'm asking for it to properly expose the bright ass sky and then all
[00:48:50] the Shadows Down Under the trees and that's just that's just not the best thing to do but I'm leaving it set to manual right now because I'm learning this I'm trying to learn what the
[00:49:01] dynamic range is of this camera so that when I set it to automatic I'll be able to bracket the automatic properly and I want to see like the main thing that you want to bracket is the
[00:49:14] iso you don't want to let the iso go too high and it's looks like I can let the iso go all the way up to 800 before it starts to get noisy but the other thing that I'm kind of
[00:49:26] kind of playing around with is the is the frame rate and the shutter speed and how do I how do I prevent the video from getting too choppy so that that's sort of why that's happening
[00:49:37] everyday with Bruno says 1.8 inch analog most user beginner durable AO motor if you want to say your favorite cam to that would be great 1.8 in what's that 45 millimeter I
[00:49:52] don't have enough to go off of Bruno so that's I I I need more to go off of I need to know 1S or 2S I need to know where you're going to be flying it that kind of
[00:50:08] stuff I definitely don't suggest 1S but 2S you're not going to be able to do yet because there are no frames that'll take a 2S battery so that that that's kind of tough you should
[00:50:22] go to 1.6 in is is be my main recommendation Morton upshot says perfect timing dzel the turbo says good evening pide says what do you think is the ideal KV for 1204 3in
[00:50:36] 3s maybe 8,000 but I don't fly rigs so I'm not the guy to ask go over to quad 66's Channel quad D the number six the number six he flies rigs like
[00:50:52] that yamasa says how much does the 45 m Mobula 7 way compared to the V3 I don't remember but I did a live stream with that 45mm mob 7 and it should be in
[00:51:09] there I don't have both of them together right now oh well here's what I can do for you here's what I can do so I've got two frames with motors and props this is a Mobula 7 V3 with
[00:51:26] beta FPV 1102s and GemFan 1610s and this is 18.6 gram this is the Mobula 804 45mm prop setup frame with BetaFPV 1102s And this is 21.8 gram so there you go th this the bigger props and the bigger
[00:51:49] frame add a significant amount of weight 21.8 versus 18.6 it's not that bad but it's not nothing that's for sure if you want to fly inside it's the Mobula 7v3 frame I think and the and the
[00:52:14] 1.6 inch props the 45mm props there's just not enough options there's only that one frame you can't even get that one frame yet God knows when you'll be able to get it if you'll be able to get it as a
[00:52:24] replacement frame right Morton upshot says get the $45 replacement is it replaced with a V3 I'm sure it is I'm sure somebody would buy it on Etsy for sure a bunch
[00:52:36] of those are going to be going up on Etsy juice says are you going to do a lens mod to the 04 light camera absolutely not seen a few videos and it looks interesting no I value
[00:52:45] durability over most other things and doing a lens mod is it's never going to be durable again thrash FPV says if you seen any 3D print canopies that would hold runcam
[00:53:00] nano4 I don't know I don't even know what a runcam nano4 is but just search search thingiverse and search Yi for runcam nano4 and that'll dig and maybe find something for you chonan says
[00:53:13] unfortunately the HappyModel 04 canopy is the only one you can't buy anywhere yet I know I I feel so bad coming on here every live stream being like oh this canopy is so great
[00:53:24] guys oh man this canop be so great boy does it suck that you can't get it but like when they do come out for God's sake get this canopy it's awesome fpj V says been too long great to see
[00:53:45] your gangly face hope life is been treating you well thank you brother good to see you back as well oh Mort upad says 100% agree that powering the VTX just to read the storage is a pain in
[00:53:54] the ass that's a fail in for sure it's like a it's a little thing but then if you fly that rig a lot and every single time you to get the footage off you have to it's just it gets really
[00:54:05] annoying and it gets really hot and you got to get your fan out over and over and over again it's just it's there are certain quality of life things that really do matter Morton up says
[00:54:15] but you can buy a WalkSnail camera and it will work with the board you can't replace the DJI camera because DJ has chosen not to tell you that yet there are there are absolutely
[00:54:27] things about WalkSnail that are fantastic you can mix and match cameras there's a bunch of different cameras available right like there WalkSnail has its place
[00:54:39] for sure and there are certain things about WalkSnail that I absolutely love but boy is this 04 system good it's I'm really blown away I'm really Blown Away by how much fun I'm having
[00:54:58] with these with these two things I had a blast with the the WalkSnail 2S 75mm builds but not like this this is this is like really really really cool 4K 60 10 1080 100 like being able to manually
[00:55:18] set the settings being able to manually set the settings guys that's a really big deal that is a huge missed opportunity for WalkSnail oh my god
[00:55:31] um I I I can't recommend the WalkSnail light setup to many people you're like you're going to have to have a very specific for people that care about their footage is what I'll say for
[00:55:49] people that care about their flight footage and are going to do something with the flight footage I don't think the WalkSnail system makes any sense if you're just going to go out and Fly
[00:55:56] for Fun I think it starts to make a lot more sense I know that it makes a lot more sense neof flow says so fly in 1080 100 frames per second not 4K 60 the it's not black and white like that
[00:56:12] flying in 10801 100 is you do each one of those things for a specific reason if you want more motion blur and if you want better quality flight footage you fly in 4k 60 if
[00:56:26] you want less latency or if you want to play around with this 60% slowdown thing that I'm going to show you guys in a little bit here then you fly in in 1080 100 but there is no like oh just
[00:56:38] do it this one way or just do it this other way it's each one is a very specific thing it's a Jeep Wrangler versus a Mazda Miata you're not going to take the Miata off-roading
[00:56:50] you're not going to take the Jeep Wrangler to the racetrack it's the the right set settings for The Right Use basically Nightwings in the house what's up
[00:57:02] homie Nightwing wants the stream in 3D BMF Spade says did they send you the 04 canopies that you're using using they did they sent me four of them actually so the the two builds the the intro
[00:57:21] of I think I already covered this but just in case I haven't cuz I am super far behind on chat and I don't remember what I did and didn't cover the flight footage at the beginning of the
[00:57:30] live stream is Mobula 7 V3 frame RC and Power 102 18,000 KV Motors limited down to 80% geman 1610 props BetaFPV 12 amp AO 04 HappyModel 04 canopy micro V antenna and then the
[00:57:54] footage that we're going to look at so so this is the king dingling 75mm motor to motor 1.6 in prop setup and it is 33.8 gram this is the 2-in build and it is 20 gram heavier
[00:58:15] 47.4 G this is basically a Mobula 8 2S both of these are on 2S BT 3.0 on here XT30 on here what this actually is is a mobula 704 BNF that I frame and motor and prop swapped
[00:58:34] and I swapped it over not on purpose but it just happened to be that I moved it over to the exact same setup that you get from a Mobula 8 they don't make the Mobula 8 with the 04 yet so this
[00:58:47] is basically a Mobula 804 it's the the HappyModel 2in frame HappyModel 1102 11,000 KV I'm sorry 1103 1103 that's important 11,000 KV Motors geman 2023 s props and then the the happy
[00:59:09] model 2S AIO I forget which one it is but it's the one that comes with the mobu 8 and then the 04 system and a micro let me show you this cool little edit that that I did with this I'm going to
[00:59:20] get copyright dinged but that's okay well actually no I I'll play it without the music because it's more about like seeing how cool the the flight footage sort of
[00:59:33] looks where's the mute button there it is just kind of seeing what the flight footage looks like when it's slowed down to 60% it's just it's cool it's got like a real sort
[00:59:45] of I don't know almost ethereal look to it but it's not proper and now watch here comes a snap to 100 frames there's 100 look at that power this is the 2-in rig look at this power
[01:00:03] ready oh NOP that's not what I wanted that's what I wanted look at this thing rip up the side of the building ready and 100% speed Full Throttle look at that two in rigs got power the
[01:00:21] 113s are a gnarly motor especially on these on these Tri blades on these 2023 Tri blades we're back now into 60 60% speed by the way and so this is kind of cool th this is
[01:00:37] again this is going to be available over on the patreon in the next couple of days th this edit is going to get changed quite a bit this was just me like when I start to do an edit I'll if
[01:00:49] if I have like like one clip that's kind of fun that that like which is what we're looking at right now this is one big long clip if I have one clip that's kind of fun
[01:00:58] but it's not like totally my favorite I'll do this and I'll do like a patreon specific like slightly different edit and just like chop it up a little bit and throw that up on
[01:01:09] patreon for those folks to have like a little bit more sort of flight footage to hopefully make them choosing this whatever more flight footage for those people you can see now I'm up
[01:01:23] I'm up on top of the trees and everything is super washed out right it's bright up here the the sunlight hits the top of all these trees and so they're really bright but when I drop
[01:01:35] down here below the trees in a second right now we're kind of exposed properly hell it's even a little dark down here right this is the same exposure but we're just down in the
[01:01:48] shadows now incidentally this was all this was 1 hour before for actual like Sunset like if you go on your weather app on your phone it'll tell you it'll give you a time for sunset
[01:02:04] today I think it was 6:30 that footage from a second ago was 1 hour before sunset this rate here is 10 minutes before Sunset so you can kind of see the difference again learning
[01:02:18] this camera learning this sensor by leaving it in manual pretty soon I'll be moving this to automatic because FPV is super Dynamic what else did I want to mention about
[01:02:34] this so that's going to be a little patreon specific edit's way cooler with the music I promise but again when we're down here when we're down below the
[01:02:45] trees so here we go so this is an hour before Sunset and this is pretty well exposed right like this is dark like we're we're losing detail down here in the shadows but then again when I go up above the
[01:03:02] trees it's completely blown out this is what you get this is this is what manually locking down the shutter and ISO look like on freestyle footage I you don't typically do that this is
[01:03:19] why people don't do that this is why people either leave the shutter or the ISO on or both on automatic for for freestyle stuff because otherwise you have to stay in the shadows or you have
[01:03:31] to stay out of the Shadows one of the things that makes that and so the super Savvy of you will then say well dude don't fly so late in the day when the sun is down super low right so the sun is way down
[01:03:52] here so it's casting the big Long Shadows here right we've got like half the lawn is in this deep dark shadow if you fly in the middle of the day the sun will be straight overhead
[01:04:10] and it'll throw much smaller shadows and so in the middle of the day the light is actually more even the but basically because there are less Shadows the problem with this
[01:04:24] specifically with this 04 system because we're probably not going to be able to get ND filters for it is that we end up having to really close shorten up the shutter speed and let me show you
[01:04:41] what that looks like I specifically oh tell me I didn't delete that delete the the file son of a I think I deleted the file hold on I I was keeping this one file that was in like 500th of a second
[01:05:05] shutter speed to show you this it's what we've been talking about lately with like the jumping the the sort of shuttering day seven was it's might be in here hold on let me take a quick look nope
[01:05:22] nope nope nope nope not that this is this it no damn it I deleted it I I it's not still in the trash can let me put it this way when in the middle of the day there's so much light without an endd
[01:05:41] filter you can't you're going to run your ISO all the way down to 100 but then you're going to have to jack your shutter speed up to like one 500th of a second and
[01:05:51] so it's going to the the camera is going to open its eyes for 15 500 of a second and then it's going to close them and it's going to wait because the maximum shutter speed is 100 frames a second
[01:06:03] frame rate is 100 frames a second so think about this you're moving the camera around and the and the camera is going to go one 500s of a second and then close its eyes and then it's going
[01:06:14] to wait and then it's going to open its eyes again and it's going to close its eyes again it's going to open its eyes and close its eyes and when you're moving like we do with freestyle the
[01:06:25] call that's in frame is going to be here and then it's going to be all the way over here and then it's going to be gone and so it gives you this like it looks like one of those little flip books it
[01:06:35] looks like one of the little stick figure flip book things right where you draw the little stick figure here and then there and then there and then there it just bang bang
[01:06:49] bang it just everything jumps and shutters and it looks awful this is why when you choose use 30 frames a second the rule is that the slowest shutter speed you want to do is 160th of a
[01:07:03] second you can also do 130th of a second but you don't want to go beyond 160th of a second because then it starts to get too choppy with fast motion if you drop a camera on a tripod it doesn't matter
[01:07:15] because nothing's really moving in the frame you don't really notice it but for what we do it's super noticeable and so these getting good footage out of these little guys is it's
[01:07:32] a bit of a challenge especially not using automatic mode even in automatic mode there are going to be some challenges because in automatic it's going to want to crank that shutter
[01:07:42] speed up I think I have to play with the automatic mode to see how it's going to react to see what it how quickly it moves the shutter speed versus how quickly it mov
[01:07:55] the iso because I think you can I think you can bracket one I think you can lock one but not the other I might be wrong about that oh no what it is so you can you can bracket the iso when when you
[01:08:13] go into automatic mode on the 04 the shutter speed is what it is the iso you can limit's not bracket it you can limit's and you can say I o is never allowed to go above 400 or 800 or
[01:08:29] 1,600 or 100 or 200 and so the the the typically what you want to do is bracket the iso down pretty low like Don't Let It Go below 400 or so and then if you're going to fly in the
[01:08:45] into like golden hour into the sunset you can open that up to 800 or even 1,600 or if you're going to fly inside the house you open it up to like 1,600 for incandescence
[01:08:57] but having the shutter speed moving around is going to drive me insane because every time you go into bright situations the shutter speed is going to get really fast and you're going to
[01:09:07] start to get that that jumping but you can kind of fly around it it's going to you're going to basically when when you're flying around and it's really bright you're going to want to slow the hell
[01:09:19] down and slow all of your rotations down and then when you get into the Shadows now you can flip faster and do more stuff CU it's going to slow the shutter speed down and those jumps in between
[01:09:28] each frame are are going to become smaller so there you guys go this is I know this might seem like I'm on a massive tangent right now but the whole point of tonight's live stream is
[01:09:41] editing 04 footage and having these exact conversations because editing 04 fo footage as in how do I make my 04 footage look good right like somebody that's clicking on this live stream
[01:09:54] cares about making the footage out of the 04 look good and you can't fix this in the edit you like this is baked in you you have to good really good flight edits
[01:10:07] have footage that was really properly recorded in the right frame rate at the right shutter speed with ISO that's not going so high that it's getting super noisy and then the editing
[01:10:19] comes in but not a lot of this stuff you can really fix all that much FPV J fpj V says o feeling that burnout when it comes to video editing broadcast hurts I I can't imagine
[01:10:34] YouTube just did the thing and scrolled me to the bottom scrolling back up to find my place I gotta get caught up here Nightwing tagged me he says check your chat
[01:10:47] I wonder which of his comments he's referring to he says the posts for mounting the boards just break if you use screws that are too short absolutely but if you use nice long m1.2 x 12 or even better
[01:11:11] yet 14 screws which I'm going to get up on my Etsy probably tonight maybe tomorrow the posts have been super durable for me and I talked about which build it was so I think Nightwing should be
[01:11:26] good now thrash says have you seen the movie The Menu it's a dark comedy movie kind of makes fun of the snobby food critics oh I've been waiting to watch that that's the one where the where
[01:11:34] the chef tells the the ultra rich guy like name me one of one thing that I've cooked you you've you've been here like whatever 25 times most people in their entire lifetime will never get
[01:11:50] food made by me once I'm one of the Premier Cooks in the country chefs in the country or the world or whatever name me one thing that I've ever made you and the guy's just like that's
[01:12:01] what I'm talking about trashing on Ultra Rich donkey raping never mind the endzel the terrible says started watching Foundation from Apple TV good-looking sci-fi a couple episodes in I think
[01:12:13] that's what somebody told me to watch on Apple TV I think it's Foundation because it was sci-fi zarad says just saw some Rando on Reddit asking what motors for a 2in told him to catch it very cool thank you
[01:12:28] dude thrash FB says if you have a RunCam Nano 4 could you please measure that lens with calipers cannot find a spec for anywhere for it I don't think I do I don't think I have that camera but
[01:12:42] if you message me somewhere I can maybe dig around and hopefully find it is it can you not is there not like usually like on the product pages they'll be they'll have measurements
[01:13:01] for stuff there you go it's a little bit less than 14 it looks it's an M8 lens if you look up M8 there there's that usually refers to the to the diameter of the
[01:13:16] front it might even say it in here 2.1 I don't think 2.1 millimet no no that's definitely not it but M8 it should M8 should be that outer that outer
[01:13:30] diameter PJ says I love the 2 G4S and all my whoops you and me both Martin tanley says what was the consensus on the best 2inch prop missed last stream were there some notables you got to watch
[01:13:49] the stream it's not a best there's just different there's a best for this exact setup so if you have this exact setup I like these 2023 s's but different props for different RPMs and
[01:14:04] different amounts of Stater volume basically and different builds too to be honest we talk about that on that stream Whit says do you have a link to list of tools you use for the whoop builds
[01:14:15] I'm a Noob thanks yep Down Below in the description Nightwing FPV says you're missing gold in this chat where's the gold at where's the gold tell me Nightwing says how long have you been
[01:14:26] flying a little over eight years now Flur and the blurk with another $5 Super Chat thank you brother he says thanks for unknowingly taking me out of a no prop guard talking me out of a no prop guard
[01:14:38] tiny to save grams you're welcome dude the the the the non propop guarded small builds seem like a great idea until you start flying them for real and actually crashing them and taking the
[01:14:57] Walk of Shame over and over and over and over and over again because they don't have enough power to push an blade of grass out of the way if you don't crash much then okay but you should
[01:15:12] crash more if you don't crash much it's super fun it's one of the coolest things about FPV is that you can crash like crazy and you don't die or get injured
[01:15:26] because you're not inside of a car or airplane or something Scott Harper says I found the joys of driving a slow car fast oh hell man Martin tanley says does the E6000 go across the camera
[01:15:40] connection on the 04 light is that the only spot well they ship they ship the 04 light camera with two beads of I don't think it's E6000 but two beads of something that
[01:16:03] go from the camera connector down to the main board what I've shown you guys once or twice on previous live streams is that you should run a be a full bead of
[01:16:18] E6000 down the bottom so there's there's the main PCB of the on the back of the camera and then there's a little thin PCB like this that has the camera connector on top of it and then
[01:16:33] the camera connector and so this main board and then this secondary like daughter PCB board that's where you want to run the bead of E6000 around because that's what this guy breaks off
[01:16:46] so you want to you want to run a bead all the way around to hold that guy down you don't want to get it up on top on the connector because then you'll never get the connector
[01:16:58] off hopefully that answers your question everyday with Bruno says you kind of already answered LOL awesome doubl FPV says what KV are those 112s which 112s there are 1102s on these two frames
[01:17:14] and they're both well no these BetaFPV 1102s are 18,000 KV well no actually these are both 18,000 KV but the that come with the Mobula 704 which I destroyed are 10,000 KV but they
[01:17:33] make a good amount of power actually with those 45mm Tri blades dve s says the Mobula 7 HD DJI frame is out get FPV has them now awesome awesome awesome Great Frame I
[01:17:46] don't recommend it's not it's I recommend it for someone who's stuck with a lower KV motor if you're stuck with like a 10,000 or 11 or 12,000 KV motor the bigger frame with the 45 mimet
[01:18:03] props is going to make a lot of sense if you've got 18,000 KV Motors you don't need that bigger frame the the Mobula 7 V3 frame is the way to go in my opinion YouTube just did the thing
[01:18:19] again trying to find my place Islander FP says flyo has a shell for the 04 light that allows ND and circular polarized filters makes the camera fit 03 sized mounts and adds 1.3
[01:18:34] gr but is an option nonetheless there's a couple of ND filters that are coming out for the 04 light which is really really really cool none of those are really going to work on these
[01:18:46] freestyle tiny whoops that that we're doing but this 2in build here at some point is going to come is going to become much less of oh you bastard Cannon it's going to become much
[01:19:04] less of a freestyle build and much more of a sort of cinematic build at which point I will absolutely be looking for an ND filter solution so you'll get to find you'll get to see
[01:19:19] that hopefully hopefully somebody makes a regular whoop Style canopy that'll take those that ND filter setup there we go Nimbus FPV says run RunCam Nano 3s for 20 bucks on get FPV if everyone
[01:19:41] need if anyone needs them no way no way nice so this is the this emac Nano hawkk run oh sorry this emac Nano Hawk runcam Nano 3 it was just in stock over on pyro drone and then it went out
[01:20:04] of stock there it was out of stock on get FPV here for a while and now it's back in stock it almost feels like runcam might still be making the Nano 3 but only for
[01:20:17] emac don't quote me on that one but if you want a RunCam Nano 3 you should get this I I I'm afraid that like every time they come back in stock I'm afraid that that's it that that's the
[01:20:33] last little batch of them and then they're gone forever and so if you're interested in a runcam nano 3 grab one this is the the this emac Nano Hawk version of the runcam Nano 3 it's a
[01:20:46] little bright I I wish it wasn't quite so bright and it doesn't have the camera plug on it which is a little annoying but not the end of the world you can solder these leads at the at the board
[01:20:57] here if you have one if if you have the correct camera plug some from someone else but this is still my favorite analog camera of all time probably always will
[01:21:11] be Nim not we got that Morton upshot says no on Foundation read the books for read the BS books first at least Apple trashes the story I'll give it a shot mson says I'm betting those Nano 3s
[01:21:26] with no connector or just New Old Stock and the last ones we will see I the getfpv didn't have the nano3 in stock and then that emac version popped up a bunch of months ago and then it went out
[01:21:39] of stock and then pyro drone got it in stock magically and then it went out of stock and now get FPV is getting it again so it's like each time it happens on one hand I'm like this is the last
[01:21:51] set for sure but the more this happens the more I'm like they they're not there's no way they keep finding more maybe but you never know all right I'm finally caught
[01:22:03] up on chat let's dive in to some editing Andor flight footage so straight out of the camera straight out of the camera this is what it looks like so the the the 04 light
[01:22:27] footage the the 04 light you cannot put it into any kind of like a raw mode where it doesn't apply any contrast boosting or white balance or any other stuff which is kind of annoying because like
[01:22:45] straight it like this is it this is the way it looks straight out of camera and then like with color correction it's like I'm barely doing anything which for most people is actually a good
[01:22:58] thing but for me it's a little bit annoying I I would rather have it come out of the camera raw so that I can apply the contrast and so in terms of like color
[01:23:11] correction with the 04 light you're not really going to be able to do much as an example of that let me try to find a all right so we've got blaring Sun all right so this is oh you
[01:23:25] bastard this is a good frame for it so we've got blazing highlights here in the sky the sun's right there and then off on the right here let me try to make this a little bit well let's just do
[01:23:37] this we'll go full screen and then that's about as good as I can do and then you've got Shadows over here and so if you look well so straight out of the camera let me turn off the
[01:23:53] adjustment layer all right so this is straight straight out of the camera so we've got completely blown out highlights here right this is little sensor stuff when you've got a little sensor you get
[01:24:07] a lot of blown highlights but then in the shadows here we're we're it's looking pretty Grim in the in the shadows here right like this is this there's no data in here I I I I probably
[01:24:23] can't bring this back so that's straight out of the camera little bit of adjustment helps but here I'm going to I'm going to really show you the problem here so I've got I've got the highlights pulled way
[01:24:41] down to try to get this sky under control I'm not pushing and I I'm pushing the Shadows a bunch let me push the Shadows a ton and you can see really
[01:24:54] so I'm going to push 150 into the Shadows which makes this look really stupid but still it makes it really obvious where there's no data this is just there's just nothing
[01:25:09] there's nothing here whatsoever this there's in the real world there's all kinds of texture in here right there's dirt and grass and but because of the lack of dynamic range we've got
[01:25:20] nothing here in this Shadow alternatively up here nothing no information whatsoever 100% white 100% white look the the the branches on this tree they're just gone they're just not
[01:25:33] there this is what you get with with a tiny little sensor there there's no way to get around this I think that the 04 light here does a better job than like anything else but again there's
[01:25:49] there's not a whole lot that you can do to this footage like I'm comfortable pushing these Shadows up to like maybe 30 I mean let's see H 50 maybe 50 if you push it too far here look how
[01:26:04] so on like an individual frame you kind of can't tell but watch this right I'm going to push it to 100 and then I'm going to bring the Shadows down negative 100 right and this one individual
[01:26:15] frame you're kind of like well that's not too bad that that's we got a little bit more detail here and now here's this is on and now that's off right on off on off right and so it makes a big
[01:26:28] difference specifically in the shadows here right but watch this watch how dumb this looks when you actually play the video and I don't know what YouTube's compression is doing to this but like it
[01:26:40] it just doesn't look great like taking that much of the contrast out it starts to look really flat and it's just you you can't do it you can't like there there's not enough data and
[01:26:56] and you're still you've still got these times where it's like super D because there's no there's no information here and so you just you can't push you can't push the the
[01:27:11] adjustments too far if at some point they give us a firmware update that'll let us record in in a raw format I think DJI calls it dlog we will be able to push this
[01:27:25] footage a little bit farther the the the problem that we're running into here is that in camera it is adding a whole bunch of contrast it is making the brights brighter and the dark's darker
[01:27:42] and then I'm trying to reverse that so we have them removing it and then I'm trying to get it back and that's you just kind of can't do that that's that if it's there in the first place then
[01:27:56] you can work with it but if they get rid of it because they've applied more contrast right it's just it's gone and so that's kind of what we're running into here
[01:28:08] again this this is the best tiny little Ultra lightweight camera that we've ever had but in terms of editing the flight footage from the 04 light which is what this live stream is about
[01:28:21] for the most part what you see is what you're going to get get you're you you probably don't want to spend much time trying to color correct this footage because like straight out
[01:28:31] of the camera it's about as good as it's going to get so those of you that don't know how to do color correction or don't want to take the time to do it congratulations now you don't have to
[01:28:43] feel bad about not doing it because it's kind of worthless to do it on here this is one of the other things that happens when you add when you pull the highlights down too much you get
[01:28:55] this really awkward situation here where you've got like this is the actual sky this is the sky too here but it goes super blue because you're trying to pull the the contrast the the highlights
[01:29:09] down so much watch what happens to the to the sky here when I turn off this adjustment layer it looks it's not that big of a difference I'm not making that much of a change but
[01:29:22] that that's this is one of the things that happens when the S you your your scene is outside of the amount of dynamic range that the camera will let you will collect and can sort of
[01:29:38] handle Mike K says what are your thoughts on the flywoo Fly lens 7504 that is a cinematic rig I don't really understand cinematic rigs that are that small so it's not for me but if
[01:30:02] you're looking for if you're looking to do cinematic footage not freestyle footage from something with a 1.6 in prop it's probably good but like what what's that for I get I think you could
[01:30:18] maybe make an argument for like if you're doing a gig flying over a crowd but that's a fairly specific kind of thing and I I wouldn't go that small I would do a 2in rig for that but
[01:30:31] that that's a that rig is is pretty specific for if if you're flying cinematic kind of footage it's not a freestyle rig at all so you can't it's not something that you can
[01:30:43] fly hard or crash really Brandon M Bean says does the' 04 light have cinik it does not I couldn't find it but I did make a color correction L and put it in the DJI Master channel on our Discord
[01:30:58] I found a couple of Neo lot Luts so the DJI Neo is just the 04 camera our 04 light is just the video system yanked out of the Neo I found a couple neol lots and they're they're
[01:31:16] very similar to what I'm doing here they're a tiny little bit of a contrast bump and then they're a chunk of highlights being taken out and a and a bunch of Shadows being added in so
[01:31:27] it's again be because we don't have any kind of a log or raw option here there's pretty much nothing that you can do from like a color correction or
[01:31:44] editing standpoint to the to get the Highlights back or the Shadows back so two inrig that's kind of done we we rolled through this I've got I've got another couple batteries although these
[01:32:04] are getting pretty dark man it's I think I'm going to go another notch down on the brightness in the in the goggles because I'm still guessing the exposure a little
[01:32:21] bit wrong I'm still getting this footage it's a little dark and so now if I try to brighten this up right so let's put an adjustment layer on
[01:32:34] here and so we've got like this this is way too dark right so if I come in here and come on God damn it there we go nope that's not what I want nope that's not what I want either that's
[01:32:49] what I want so if I go one full stop up on the exposure here it's still not bright enough I'm still like two stops off but then look at this sky like
[01:33:06] it's tough it's tough nailing the nailing the exposure on this 04 light camera to try to get like really goodlooking kind of cinematic footage which is not it's not a good idea
[01:33:23] to do this this is not a camera meant to get footage like this this is more of an FPV camera realistically but it's really cool that we can get some really really really
[01:33:39] nice looking footage out of this little tiny camera and it opens up some really neat opportunities for Ultra lightweight little rigs like this to go places that to go places safely that
[01:33:50] we've never been able to go before this is actually not bad one stop up let me look at it two full stops up now we're getting there so now now we've got enough exposure but also we're probably
[01:34:04] going to start to get some noise so now super dark here let's see what the noise looks that's actually not that bad wow not bad at all so that's actually a little important this is is
[01:34:23] important here it's almost always better to underexpose than overexpose and you can see why right here the the sky is completely blown out and when the sky completely blows out
[01:34:39] like this it takes all of these it takes all these trees and sticks with it and it looks like really really bad when when you overexpose and everything is too bright this particular footage I
[01:34:53] have underexposed and so when we go to a dark area here come on come on you rat bastard there you go when we go to a dark area here Jesus Christ on a
[01:35:15] cracker here we go it's the one of the things that can happen in the dark areas you can start to get a whole bunch of noise this is doing really well this is not noisy at
[01:35:27] all this is just nice black like nice smooth black I wonder what ISO this was at is that exif data in here let's see info no it doesn't save what ISO it's at I don't know what
[01:35:54] I wish I knew what that my guess is going to be this is like a 100 or 200 ISO because this looks really good and so this this is an example of like this is footage that I
[01:36:04] underexposed by cranking the exposure up we're not getting a ton of noise if if I had bumped the iso up to get the exposure brighter on this I would have probably gotten much more noise in the
[01:36:20] shadows here wow the computer is just absolutely its pants right now and so that that's kind of where I'm at here with this let me let me see something here
[01:36:35] let me push let me bring the well yes see I've already got 50 on the high I've already got the highlights pulled way way way way down so there you go this was a
[01:36:53] bunch of the 2in flight footage here comes some of the 1.6 in Flight footage so that you can kind of compare again we want day s 40 mm and right so I'll drop all three of
[01:37:11] these in oh come on now oh come on now there we go all right well actually these aren't going to play worth a damn because the computer is flopping its flops
[01:37:33] out let me do this let me play these in in a let's see if no well let's see maybe no all right so can you guys see the massive stuttering I don't know if that is the computer losing its mind or that could
[01:37:57] be the low frame rate kind of situation so I'm sorry the the two fast shutter speed dealio let's take a look here's how you find out you come into the actual footage and you click here and we
[01:38:13] go info and 60 frames a second why is it 60 frames a second it should be 100 frames a second what's that about why does it say 60 frames a second speed duration 60 and now let's see if
[01:38:38] we lose frames frame frame frame frame frame frame now it is 100 frames a second because we don't have any doubled frames frame frame frame frame frame frame frame okay
[01:38:51] so on recorded at 100 and now played back at full speed okay no it's the computer the computer's its pants I can see it now try this one more time I forgot this is one of the reasons
[01:39:12] I stopped doing editing streams because when Premiere is running the the computer just can't handle it and it and it just absolutely outly this is just a nightmare if I go to half speed
[01:39:22] though it should smooth out a little bit let's see all right so it's any any choppiness that you see is just the computer the computer is a whole two years old so it's deserves to be in
[01:39:40] the in the recycling bin by now you got to get a new computer every 10 minutes to keep up with the goddamn software changes or else it'll run horribly but again so this is the 1.6 inch rig
[01:39:57] in the bushes here oh man this is me in the bushes here this thing is a lot more comfortable and this is brutal it's so choppy and it's got that extra float it's so much fun this thing
[01:40:21] is so much fun to fly the the 2in build is kind of crazy how much ground it covers and how like not small it feels but to not it's just so heavy it's so heavy and when I get it into this
[01:40:48] real tight fun flying that I really want to do it's really difficult it's really difficult to get it to settle down and fly slowly in here and I've fallen in love with like
[01:41:01] playing around with these little tiny gaps in these little tiny areas to kind of fly it's so fun all that being said the analog 2S rigs are really where it's at for tucking into these
[01:41:17] little tiny areas looks like Canon the bed again no surprises there so you could argue you could absolutely argue that like to do this kind of stuff you should just go all the
[01:41:30] way and do an analog 2S build even as soon as you add the extra 7even eight grams of the 04 light boy it becomes so much harder to do this stuff like with the analog 2S 75mm builds I can like rip
[01:41:45] through here I I like have total confidence it's like a little scalpel getting through here as soon as you put the the the HD systems on a I think because of the
[01:41:57] latency being more and being variable but also because of the extra weight it's really changes the your ability to do that super super super accurate super technical kind of
[01:42:16] stuff hold on getting this shitball software going again this is the 1.6 mm RI inch rig in the house th this is also one of my tiny whoop 300mah BT 3.0 2S batteries dying
[01:42:35] one of the cells has left the chat that was just full throttle and so unfortunately I have a dead battery here I've I've had it on the discharger here for a while I
[01:42:49] discharged it down a bunch and now I'm going to recharge it to see if maybe I can bring it back to life but I'm pretty sure it's dunzo so this is about as light as you
[01:43:01] can get an 04 that flies good to blip around the house and the battery was acting really weird but still it's hard it's really hard to fly it's hard to rip it inside the
[01:43:18] house it's really heavy it's really powerful it feels way too big and if you hit stuff like if you hit your your your partner's whatever Pottery you're going to knock it off the shelf and
[01:43:34] break it and so I I really can't recommend this but here you go I think this is now on a non useless battery this might be that same battery though is me trying to get
[01:43:50] Teddy this is up at ISO 1600 and I think I had the shutter as opened as it would go this is kind of the best that I can do inside the house here again doable but really difficult
[01:44:11] and really sketchy inside of a big warehouse this would be pretty damn good this would be really fun inside of a warehouse the problem is going to be at this weight and Power power level
[01:44:24] you're going to you're going to blast through Motors even 1 and a half mm motor shafts are not going to be able to survive and so you're going to be replacing Motors pretty
[01:44:37] often analog is still really really really has a place for this kind of like hard freestyle flying that extra 89 grams makes a massive difference when the entire quad only
[01:44:54] weighs like 22 gram what I mean or 25 or whatever and so this I I want to love this 2S 1.6 in prop build but I'm never going to do this with it this is just me doing it
[01:45:16] for you guys this is this is ridiculous this is super Reckless and then flying it outside it's better in the bushes but like man the 2-in rig is so goddamn fast outside you can just go blazing down the
[01:45:41] street I think my favorite thing about the 1.6 is the float when you throw it up over something and you chop the throttle and you dive down the side of the house or the side of a tree it
[01:45:54] you get like twice as much time on the way down which is really cool the the 2in build it just it just hammers like it loses altitude so fast and so when you go to do a dive you don't get
[01:46:06] to spend much time in the dive it's like you start diving and you're on the ground you're and you're having to hammer the throttle to keep it off the dirt keep it out of the
[01:46:15] dirt so it's like I said earlier I I have a funny feeling that I'm going to keep the 2in rig together and I'm going to pull the 1.6 inch rig apart to steal the 04 out
[01:46:30] of it to put into a 1 S65 mil I can't believe it I I kind of can't believe that that's the case but the 04 setup it's a cinematic YouTube the bed awesome way to go
[01:46:49] YouTube that's also why the stream was wny the computer was losing its mind this the quality is so good of this on this that it's a cinematic kind of build it's not really like a freestyle
[01:47:08] build freestyle is not about image quality it's about flight characteristics and so as much as a lot of people don't want to hear it analog is absolutely still King For Freestyle on 1.2 in prop 1.6
[01:47:25] in prop as well even with 2S if you've been paying attention that that absolutely does make sense but it's it's the same thing I I went through this same like
[01:47:38] heartbreak with the WalkSnail setup of like I want desperately to have a durable like awesome flight characteristic freestyle build that's got HD on board
[01:47:55] and I just I I I think it's asking too much I think we're asking too much especially because of all the issues with like the camera and not being able to really have a good ND filter
[01:48:07] kind of situation so it's I don't know eh says are 30mm props the size most suited for 40,000 KV Motors yes absolutely Mort upot says dude your spot on for
[01:48:25] Leave the World Behind I realize I watched it but it was so unmemorable it's got a really cool scene every single person that watched Leave the World Behind watched it
[01:48:38] because there's a really good scene at the beginning of the movie where an oil tanker ship runs ground on a beach with a bunch of people at that beach and it's just a great promo
[01:48:51] great trailer for that movie but then the rest of the movie sucks it doesn't suck it's just frustrating it's just a super frustrating movie and I'm trying really hard not
[01:49:08] to spoil the surprise for anybody that wants to actually watch it tonight or tomorrow by talking about what makes it frustrating because if I talk about what makes it frustrating it'll completely
[01:49:17] ruin the movie so if you guys if a bunch of you guys look a bunch of you guys watch that movie this week and then remind me on Friday and we'll talk about why it's so
[01:49:28] frustrating Dennis you got four days you got four days to watch the movie before I spoil it for you Dennis says any idea why WalkSnail can record 1080 60 frames per second while flying 720 100
[01:49:41] but 0304 can't do it's the same thing is happening but 04 if you set 04 to 100 frames a second on board I have no idea why one thing can do one thing and the other
[01:50:11] can't do the other I I I'm not an engineer I I have absolutely no clue but the the onboard DVR with 04 if you set it to 100 frames it gives you 100 frames but then in the goggles the
[01:50:28] refresh rate of the goggles is 60 htz and so it has to drop it from 100 down to 60 I I don't think that the WalkSnail goggles are 100 htz refresh if they are then that's the answer the answer is
[01:50:49] that the WalkSnail goggles screens are 100 htz and the DJI screens are only 60 htz but I don't think that's the case I think that they're both 60 htz and when you're when you're flying
[01:51:05] 720 100 with WalkSnail you're actually only getting 60 frames because that's the refresh rate of the screens what I can say unequivocally is that the DJI system has the same latency and even
[01:51:21] better latency in race mode than the WalkSnail stuff so what what your comment is alluding to is that WalkSnail will give you lower latency but it does not you actually get better
[01:51:36] latency from lower latency from the DJI system and you get more options the DJI system is is Superior in pretty much every way so I I I I I think you're kind of misunderstanding what
[01:51:52] what's actually happening in the in the goggles themselves but what what I'll also say is that oh 720 you said 720 that's where the confusion is DJI just chose not to do 720
[01:52:06] it the the lowest that it goes is 1080 they give you better performance on 1080 though than WalkSnail gives you in 720 so the DJI system is better BR says oh no we got that cool
[01:52:24] caught up on chat so this this edit is pretty much done I I I would love to dive into this flight footage a little bit more here but I think I I don't think the computer will
[01:52:40] run let's just see I don't think the computer will play this smoothly while OBS is on I've dumped the I've dumped the quality way down to 1/8 it's actually doing a pretty good job at 1/8 all right so
[01:52:54] let's start to start to chop some of this upwhy did I why is this all chopped up what what's what's before this what am I doing here hold on oh this is where that that other
[01:53:19] schlip shlap ends okay so that's fine all right so this is good all right let's keep going here so this is kind of fun that's a big throw off the roof so this is the twoin
[01:53:37] rig again look at this throw ready this is the power of the 2-in rig on the 113s ready and Full Throttle blip look at that it threw it all the way out past the tree 2in build got mad
[01:53:53] power Med power but also look how fast it falls down like I'm throwing it up over the house this house is like this is like two and a half stories at the at the top of this at the top of the roof
[01:54:05] here right I'm throwing it up higher than the chimney so it's probably like three stories up but watch how quickly it comes down ready it just it's just it's it's
[01:54:19] heavy these 2in tiny whooop builds are are heavier as per the prop size than the 1.6 is and it's just because we've had more development and more frames made for the 1.6 in rigs
[01:54:34] so again the 2-in rigs are going to go up faster and more aggressively but they're going to Tumble down to the Earth much quicker the 1.6 in rig will go up increase elevation almost as quick
[01:54:53] but then they'll float more on the way down which is cool I didn't think that lady reacted at all when I was in the goggles but I kind of think that she might have reacted a
[01:55:06] little bit here I hope not I don't know it's a tiny whoop if if she got upset it's on her it's a kids toy for God's sakes 2in build is 20 grams heavier than the 1.6 inch
[01:55:29] build I did I made a big correction to make absolutely sure that I stayed away from her there ready in three two one wait I made a nice correction to make sure I was way away from her
[01:55:45] feet although if I'd hit her in the ankles it wouldn't hurt get give her a little ankle biter this is awful dark man although no I I I pulled that exposure up and it's came to life so this is
[01:56:06] fine you walk in front of my house you got to dodge tiny whoops that's the deal man there are much worse things in life all right so we're going to cut in there for sure
[01:56:22] that throw is kind of ruined by hitting that little stick so that's good so I'm going to get rid of all of this I'm going to cut all this out which is
[01:56:36] fine this is a good run and all but I don't I don't she seems to have a little bit of reaction there that makes me feel bad I don't want to be that guy
[01:56:53] I'm sure she was smiling but again don't be that guy this is kind of a nice run up in the trees here the the song that I'm picking does have some super
[01:57:10] chill kind of sections so that's fun maybe I'll keep this so maybe I'll cut it right around here right here all right so I'm going to keep this bit and we'll see if it fits with the
[01:57:22] music somewhere right so we got elevation up little Cruiser on the trees I it's so ridiculous that you can do this with a tiny whoop so so so cool that that was the realm of
[01:57:45] uh of non-ducted 3in rigs only until very recently until these HD systems got so lightweight all right and then this is a pretty ugly little throw I think oh no
[01:57:59] that's kind of cool H this is a semi decent run here I think I blew it in here though nope here's where I crashed there we go all right so we'll cut it somewhere before there that's still looking pretty
[01:58:16] smooth pretty good pretty good pretty good pretty good and then I'll do a sneaky little edit when it goes all black here so we go bump and then all
[01:58:30] black all right and that's where there's going to be a cut I'll get that to fit with the music what else we got here and now I think this is where I start having a lot of trouble with the
[01:58:45] 2in in this really tight space if I put a whole bunch of batteries in a row I I I'm certain that I could get a little bit more adjusted to this but it's never going to be as good as a
[01:59:00] lighter rig try again here let me put a little adjustment layer on this because I don't even know if you guys can see this hold up all right so let's go two stops up with
[01:59:26] it and okay much better all right I think I dive back in there a couple more times this is the one that we saw a minute ago again just what it is I can't the the
[01:59:45] 2in rig is so fast that I can't like put the nose down in there and if I put the nose down it's makes it's actually makes it a little bit easier to fly through there I have to fly through
[01:59:57] there very flat and it's much harder to fly flat really accurately so it's not just that the 2-in rig is heavier and it's going to carry more momentum when I go to change
[02:00:12] direction it's that I'm flying it super flat the lighter weight rigs you can put the nose down more because they're so much lighter you can put the nose down more for the
[02:00:29] same amount of thrust being spilled rearwards doeses everybody understand that concept this is where the whole heavier rigs fly faster thing right the heavier a rig is the more air it has
[02:00:47] to push down and then so if you start to tilt it if you tilt It Forward 10 degrees it's going to spill a shitload of thrust rearwards because it's got to put all that thrust downwards whereas a
[02:01:00] lightweight rig if you put it 10 degrees forwards it's only going to spill a little bit of thrust rearwards and so it's going to go slower where that the the so the racing guys for a
[02:01:14] while were like heavy rigs are going to be faster then it's like no idiot you have to change directions as soon as you have to change directions a heavier rig is going to suck but
[02:01:26] that's what's happening in here the the 2S analog rigs I can put the nose down a bunch and they're not going to go very fast and that's going to make them easier to maneuver in and out of those
[02:01:36] trees and they have less weight so when I change directions they they'll they'll dig in better but there's there's also this like flattening out thing this is
[02:01:49] why I prefer C whoops with big tall ducts because with big tall ducts you could put the nose down a bunch and it doesn't go very fast with all of these prop guarded rigs if you're going to
[02:02:02] do you got to fly them super flat to go slowly and then they're really touchy because all that thrust is going downwards it makes the throttle control a nightmare as
[02:02:15] well this is what this two in rig does best right here just caught the edge of the roof and this is very fun I've been having a blast doing this kind of flying with it but every time I drop down to
[02:02:29] the bushes here it's like ah no what's happening oh that's right it got stuck all right so that was the end of that battery I think next to with a 2in rig just a little bit more here oh God what is
[02:02:56] happening computer come on you can do this oh I forgot to well none of this was was all that great I don't know if I'm going to use any of this because this is just me
[02:03:07] crashing in the bushes over and over again is there like a little run in here that's semi decent that I should be chopping out for this at it I don't really know it's just me kind of bouncing off
[02:03:20] of sticks and by the way every single one of these times that you see me bounce off these sticks a build with no prop guards would have gone down and I would have had to take the Walk of
[02:03:31] Shame right because as soon as you hit a stick it stalls those tiny little Motors out and that's game over and that's where like the 2in ducted whoop thing becomes a little
[02:03:48] confusing because if you're going to fly big like this then you're not going to crash as you're you're typically not going to crash as much and then not having the prop guards
[02:03:58] makes a lot of sense it's really tough it's really really really tough to decide and I think it kind of comes down to how aggressive you want to fly if you want to fly really
[02:04:09] aggressively where you're going to be getting close to stuff and you're you're going to bump into twigs and having the prop guards is really nice and I think that's kind of where I'm at
[02:04:18] I that's I want to I want to fly really close to this is this is all gone I'm going to kill that entire clip that's all gone the twitching is probably just
[02:04:33] my computer pooping its pants this footage is is pretty smooth this is now all in 4k 60 and it's playing back at 60 and the shutter speed is fairly low because the sun is down this is now 10 minutes
[02:04:49] before Sunset look at that power look at this 2-in rig climb this tree Ready blip off the throttle look at that it's got this is a beautiful example of it this is a beautiful example of float
[02:05:06] versus Power all right you can build a super heavy rig that's got shitloads of power and people mistake and we people will say that that rig has a lot of float it doesn't
[02:05:23] it has a lot of power and so it can send itself upwards for a while because it's got a ton of power but then as soon as it starts to actually float back down to the ground it falls to the ground like a
[02:05:36] sack of anvils this 2in rig is a beautiful example of that ready we're going to get throttle blip throttle blip chop it's got lots of power so it spends a bunch of time going up the the tree
[02:05:52] even though I'm at zero throttle but then as soon as it gets to the to the peak of its of its travel it just comes storming down the tree it just falls down that tree really
[02:06:04] quick so I don't get much of a dive I get this really cool moment where it's carrying this momentum upwards almost like like anti Against Gravity but now on the dive part
[02:06:18] of this I can just barely get that rotation done and then stab the throttle again let me see if I can find me doing that same move with the 1.6 in rig I love doing that little move so there's a
[02:06:33] chance that I've got it in here somewhere so the 1.6 inch rig it won't have as much climb but it'll dive for longer and so that's a great little example of a big difference in the
[02:06:54] flight characteristics between these two Rigs and there's no right or wrong answers here it's just it's just different you're going to like one or the
[02:07:07] other I'm trying my best to help you kind of decide I will say this this is a little moment that the 1.6 in rig does better than the 2in rig ready because again the 1.6 inch rig will fly
[02:07:28] slower more comfortably and so this with the 2-in build I I I can't slow down that much when I slow down that much it's really struggles because I got to flatten it out so
[02:07:46] much and so again like with these little tiny whoops like what do you want to do do you want to do you want to capture these little details and fly super slow or do you want to bomb around the
[02:07:57] neighborhood and it's a really hard decision what you should do is just have both have have a 2-in frame with 1103 11000 on the 2023 S's and then have a 1.6 in frame on BetaFPV 1102 18000s
[02:08:17] and you can take your camera canopy AI stack out of one frame and put it in the other one when you want to go fast and swap it out when you want to go slow I think that's really the
[02:08:31] answer oh here we go here's the same move this is great this is the same move with the 1.6 that I did with the 2 in here you go climbing the side of the house Full Throttle blast ready so this
[02:08:43] is the 1.6 Full Throttle chop the throttle right and now here's that same thing with the 2-in build it looks totally different it's just a split second we go to 100% speed ready
[02:08:59] see that up see how much upwards there is that 2in rig has much more power and more mass it's got more mass so that when you when you get it going upwards and chop the throttle it'll
[02:09:13] keep Rising it's got more energy right it's you're running a bigger battery you're dumping more energy into the motors you're creating getting more energy going upwards and so it'll carry
[02:09:24] that for a little bit longer Dave gunnis says 2 in is Mobula 8 1.6 in is mobul 7 frame with 40 mm props the 1.6 in rig is a totally custom build but I mean I mean it's doesn't
[02:09:38] really matter I really wish that I could find me climbing up that tree that tree is so perfect next time I fly I'm going to do a bunch of those tree climbs and Dives because that's the perfect way
[02:09:56] of kind of showing that this when when we first moved in here at the corner of the street here this was just a big ass hole in the ground these people have made this into the coolest little like
[02:10:09] Oasis ever it is so cool down there I got all these like ter it was literally just a big ass dirt hole in the ground it was kind of ugly as it would fill up with water and stuff it
[02:10:22] was pretty gross that's not Full Throttle by the way that's me trying to fly smooth all right so here we go so this little rig is not nearly as good as the analogs in the in the bushes
[02:10:43] there I I still I'm not I'm definitely a little more comfortable with it but I think like if I want to fly small I should be doing it with analog I it's weird I don't have the
[02:10:59] I don't have a good climb and dive of that tree it doesn't look like with the with the lighter rig that's a shame I'll do it next time I fly I think that the edit with this 1.6
[02:11:14] might have some indoor flying Maggie in there and I'm and she's giving me the finger I think I don't actually I think I'm going to have to go out and fly the the smaller rig a bunch more I
[02:11:25] don't think I have enough in here for an actual edit that I'd be really happy with that was a cool move I was happy with this little drop down off the roof there's so much scraggle up here this is
[02:11:35] super sketchy but I kept it like right next to the building and I was able to duck it down in before all the scraggle starts so one of the other cool things about this 04 system is that you can
[02:11:46] actually see this scraggle in analog you only like see the main trunk of to the tree and it's like why don't you get closer to that tree you idiot it's like well there's 7,000 branches
[02:11:57] there you can't see it right now because I have the quality set at one quarter but like for example right so we come up here so if I stop it here you can actually see the scraggly
[02:12:17] boys what I mean cuz we're in is this in 4k or is this 1080 let's see info oh this is actually only 1080 oh where's some 4K footage with scraggle oh here
[02:12:33] perfect this little tree it's not a little tree at all get up in there get up in there here you go ready so when we're here wow there's a shitload of motion blur this is at 16 6th of a second look
[02:12:52] how good that lookscome on an 8 gram camera and VTX setup that looks that good what there you go look at that look at this the hell that's
[02:13:16] crazy look at that look at the detail in here what the it's insane the the RC drift car place is oh my God it's 12:15 Jesus the the RC drift car place opened back up the other
[02:13:34] day I got to get my ass over there but I'm waiting for this BetaFPV package to arrive I hope you guys enjoyed I know it may have felt like a bunch of tangents but they were all surrounding
[02:13:49] the experience that I had over the last week and a half with trying to get really goodlook footage out of these DJI 04 lights it's not just in Premiere we we actually don't do very much
[02:14:06] in Premiere it's about the right settings it's about flying at the right time of day and it's even about the way that you fly especially if you're going to turn some of this stuff to automatic
[02:14:21] and so I hope I helped this's my new thing here surfing surfing these rooftops since it's a tiny whoop
