[00:02:49] hey friends my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me Ciotti welcome to sim Sunday sorry for the the missed live stream on Friday I've been in one of the worst depressive
[00:03:04] episodes that I've had in 6 months to a year so I I apologize for that I'm still recovering and so this this this is going to be a rough stream but I'm going to try my
[00:03:22] best and if nothing else you guys can come hang out in the chat I know a lot of my lot a lot of the a lot of what you guys love about these streams is being able to like hang out with each
[00:03:34] other obviously you can do that over on Discord but having a time every other day or so that you guys can kind of hang out live together and talk I know is a part of the
[00:03:49] magic of live streams it's one of the things I used to love when I used to watch a lot of live streams and so and you guys show up to work when you're not
[00:04:03] feeling great sometimes as well and that's just sort of a part of the part of the game part of being an adult as a reminder all Etsy orders and giveaway wins anytime I mail
[00:04:18] something to someone FPV related you will get a prop aile which was designed by Chris renie this is a really really slick way of removing tiny wo props without ruining your fingers and or the motor
[00:04:40] shaft on the this most recent whoop Wednesday live stream like a half a week ago at the beginning of the stream I I took like five or so minutes to explain this thing and how it
[00:05:01] removes the props and the safest way to remove props and why you keep ruining your your tiny whoop Motors and stuff so if you want sort of an in-depth explanation that's the
[00:05:14] that's the live stream for you but these things are great if if you've got one of these propad Iles and a prop popper like this this is my favorite one this is the
[00:05:28] Clone popper from tiny whoop you're good to go you're going to be able to pull tiny whoop propellers off without ruining without slipping the motor shaft basically the the the laser weld
[00:05:45] between the motor shaft and the bell itself is one of the most fragile parts of a tiny whooop motor and it's super easy to break that laser weld but between this and the propile and
[00:06:02] and just a little bit of understanding as to what's going on which you can gain by just looking at one of these motors and just thinking about like if I pull the propeller off I'm going to be
[00:06:15] pulling it in that direction what's going to happen to the motor shaft what's going to happen to this C clip what's going to happen to this Bell right or you can just watch the
[00:06:25] beginning of this last whoop Wednesday live stream where I I really went over all of it so criles you don't get to pick your color it's going to be either violet or red
[00:06:40] I'm going to print some more colors at some point here though it's we're going to do Sim this is probably going to be a little bit of a shorter stream but Sim Sunday we'll we'll jump into
[00:06:55] the simulator for a little bit got a little bit of mailbag we'll probably do that first and it's a Q&A live stream as well so ask any questions you've got in the chat speaking of the
[00:07:08] chat coold Powers was first smoking do Kujo was next nitrous chimp Troy prag K Kevin suar Gusto FPV BR Anderson schneer FPV Matthew Wagner doubles Brandon's baked beans Chris Mel Gusto
[00:07:21] hockey rounds render Douglas 6 every day with Bruno Northern Tier rock crawler Cloud HPP ER Mr mey Uriel BR Anderson I think I got everybody thanks for coming
[00:07:37] friends sorry it hasn't been great lately but this is what it looks like to be someone that lives with mental illness it's can take over your life like
[00:07:53] that and it's got an unbelievable power I I've I've been on a 15 to 20 year Road on trying to manage it I've tried a lot of things I haven't tried the super aggressive things that
[00:08:11] are kind of sketchy like ketamine therapy and some of the other stuff that like if it goes wrong like it can really go wrong but I've tried all of the safe stuff
[00:08:27] and it's a game of it's a game of side effects basically the easier the the easier the thing like the easiest is taking a pill right the easier the thing the more side
[00:08:44] effects it has and for a lot of people the side effects are worse than the than the positives that you get because like the side effects are every day right and
[00:08:57] so it's this one of the things that makes M know so hard is that like everybody has a different everybody has a different version of it and everybody's side effects will be a little bit different
[00:09:12] so there's not just like here take this there's like 20 different medications and it's just it's brutal but it's a big old
[00:09:30] sandwich and some of us have to take a bite every day with Bruno says hope all is well he also says take all the time you need we appreciate you uel says happy to see you don't like to see you
[00:09:40] squeam let's make it positive that's what I intend render says sending all the Good Vibes yuriel says love you dude denilla terrible says hello Cloud Hopper says I watched
[00:09:51] your stream from back in January about the best 2S AIO for use with your 04 now you have some experience with them what's your favorite I'm looking to do 04 75 build
[00:10:03] so the only ones I have experience with are the BetaFPV 12 amp the one that doesn't have the USB port on the bottom and I still think that's the best one because it doesn't have the USB port
[00:10:19] on the bottom and so your your frame op you have the most possible frame options right like you could even put that thing into like a toothpick frame right right because it doesn't
[00:10:30] have that giant USB on the bottom you can sit's flat against the toothpick frame it would be a nightmare to plug a j you when you do that you can't plug jst into it right so you'd have to pull
[00:10:42] the board apart every time you plug you wanted to plug into it but still like you it's is an option wait no I'm sorry never mind it's got the the jsd port is on the the jst port is on the side so
[00:10:59] would ABS it would actually be a perfect toothpick AIO so that's the one that I I still absolutely think is the best is the the BetaFPV 12 amp sometimes the it's they call it just a ons aiio but
[00:11:16] then when you look at the actual specs it says one to 2S and I've I've run a ton of 2S batteries on it's completely fine the the the HappyModel
[00:11:32] AO that you get in the Mobula 704 has been completely fine so no complaints whatsoever about that one the flywoo Goku aiio is ultra expensive and it's probably it's
[00:11:49] probably great but it's just so expensive and I have had absolutely no problems with these two that are like almost half as as much money so I there's not really much I can say
[00:12:04] about that one and I don't remember the other ones that we talked about during that live stream but the the HappyModel one and the beta fpv1 have been great those are the only two that I
[00:12:19] have experience with but they've been great nothing no no complaints for me every day with Bruno says heard heard the Kine is a noo I mean the the the
[00:12:34] problem the big problem with all of those types of things is that like like for some people it's great for some people it doesn't do anything for some people it ruins their lives and
[00:12:52] you know this is pretty bad but like I'm still like 80 90 80 to 90 to 95% of my life is still able to be lived well and so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to take that kind of
[00:13:11] chance what I mean because will ruin that 80 or 90 or 95% of your life for depression is tough depression comes in Seasons it comes in waves for some people it's just it's just
[00:13:30] constant and so if if 50% of your life is being just destroyed by depression for 10 years straight all right I would be looking at the ketamine too the flip side of that is that
[00:13:49] like I I could I can kind of say that like like a massive chunk of my 20s and 30s were like really up from depression and so maybe I should have done it then but
[00:14:10] I I I was able to not do that and maybe it would have worked maybe it wouldn't have worked right maybe it would have gone really bad and through just stubbornness and just
[00:14:26] waiting I was able to really turn that around quite a bit and now I live a much better adjusted life so I don't know it's super tough it's a it's a it's an incredibly
[00:14:39] difficult decision which is one of the hardest things about it like there's no like oh this is definitely the way to go it's just a whole bunch of like maybe maybe maybe
[00:14:53] maybe maybe maybe the safest way to go is absolutely talk therapy exercise and eating right that's also the hardest that that's the most work especially for me I hate
[00:15:13] exercise eating right is is whatever well it's eating right's not easy either but rock crawler says some of us right there with you I'm on the autism spectrum and that comes
[00:15:24] with severe anxiety and depression going through a pretty hard time lately too it sucks living in the US and watching watching things just completely
[00:15:43] come unhinged boy oh boy does that trigger it for lots and lots of people and some people have unfortunately already given up and I had to deal with that for from
[00:16:00] this and I had to unfortunately deal with that a few months ago but we just need to fight as hard as we can and try to stick together I don't
[00:16:17] know yellow's in the chat sorry says long time no see sorry I'm been I'm kind of banged up lots of good live streams where I'm not banged up from the last couple months though with lots of
[00:16:30] good topics J monk says dumb battery question how far in voltage can I fly before drone falls out of the sky on lithium ion 18650 I don't know I don't know how how far down you can run the
[00:16:45] lithium ion batteries I've heard you can run them farther down than lipos so maybe 3.4 maybe 3.3 but I mean if you run a battery down that low you're you're the motors are going
[00:17:07] to be getting a lot less voltage and those batteries already don't really deliver much power to the motors and so if you go too far below 3.5 like it might get hard to kind of fly and that's
[00:17:24] going to make like getting home safely that much more difficult so I don't know I I have a I've flown I have a 2500 25,000 2500 2500mah 6s lithium ion battery that I've flown once or twice
[00:17:47] and when it got to 3.5 it felt like from the jump and then when it got to like 3.5 I was likethis this thing feels terrible and I just brought it on home and it ran for a long
[00:18:01] time prior to that but I don't know what the actual lowest is but I've I've certainly heard that you can run them lower than lithium ion without hurting them every day with Bruno just says
[00:18:15] just going through the motions sucks though it does it does but sometimes that's what we have to do Cloud oper says put the older BetaFPV 11021 18000s in an analog 75 build
[00:18:28] and I'm loving it weighs a bit over 29 gram it's analog and I'm flying with the 42s totally rips the the the 2S 1.6 in prop analog builds are insane it's just so much fun I haven't flown
[00:18:49] mine in a little bit because I've been really trying to focus on the on the' 04 stuff but man it's incredible like you would think that it wouldn't be
[00:19:04] as noticeable because like with these 2S 1.6 setups they all have a lot of power and you would think that like seven eight grams wouldn't make that much of a difference because the
[00:19:23] power to ratio is so good but man no it is just it is just insane I think it's just that that much weight on these builds that only weigh like 40 something grams is a huge
[00:19:41] difference so even though the the power to weight the power to weight ratio is is maybe only going from like I don't know 7:1 to 8:1 or 7 to1 to like 7 and 1/2 to 1 the
[00:19:59] all up weight is is drastically changing and that so I think what you're what what I think that's what's what's the big thing is Euro says don't forget it was full moon with extras this time
[00:20:15] we're going for next age your feelings are not wrong but over triggered for you you will have your enlightened moment soon Uriel is doing Iowaska right now Co power says if I remember correctly
[00:20:29] lithium ion goes down to 2.5 volts per cell holy that's insane tonian says I have firsthand experience with ketamine therapy I think your fears of it going wrong are
[00:20:41] exaggerated I would recommend talking to a provider about it if you're really interested I'm not interested you're only the second person that I've talked to with it unfortunately the
[00:20:52] that has experience with it unfortunately the the first person that I have had experience with it's up his life so it's like I said I I've managed to get a handle on my anxiety and depression the hard
[00:21:12] way enough so that I I I'm completely uninterested into it completely uninterested in it so that's which is great because that that's it's safer to do it right I'm sure that it has a a
[00:21:34] low rate of going wrong but my issue with it is that when it goes wrong it can get really really bad right like talk therapy it doesn't it doesn't go really really wrong exercise
[00:21:50] doesn't go really really wrong right taking Prozac doesn't go really really wrong you just stop taking it and so but for folks that are having a super hard time it's it's
[00:22:06] nice that there are there are options out there for some reason my computer didn't play any of that audio that's so weird I don't I don't know what's going on this computer is acting so strange beo
[00:22:32] from Hattie bees hooked a brother up with a couple of t-shirts and they showed up in the mail today and that it is hands down the coolest way that I've ever seen
[00:22:47] t-shirts packaged hatti bees is a awesome awesome chicken place in Atlanta and Tennessee if you're in Atlanta if you're ever in Atlanta or Tennessee go to Hatty bees it's super awesome
[00:23:09] Hatty bees Hot Chicken here's the little website where's the so couple couple in Atlanta oh oh okay so they're also in Texas it looks like birming oh and Alabama too
[00:23:25] Austin Texas Birmingham Alabama Dallas Texas Franklin Alabama maybe Memphis Tennessee and then a bunch in Nashville so if you're ever any of these spots go to Hatty bees oh my god bimo
[00:23:41] contacted me through Fiverr and did a Fiverr session with me super cool guy getting into FPV learning and then he was during the the our Fiverr session he met mentioned that
[00:23:58] he's actually going to be in Atlanta and I was like dude hit me up when you're here and if we can meet up awesome we met up at one of the hatti bees and it was awesome got to hang and talk
[00:24:12] and he hooked the brother up and then I went back to had I was downtown again like a couple weeks later and I went back and I saw one of the employees was wearing a really cool
[00:24:24] shirt so I met but I didn't see the shirt for sale there so I mess with him I was like let me guess this shirt is employees only and he's like it used to be but we actually sell it now
[00:24:34] what's your address and he sent me and Maggie a couple of the shirts and this is how they showed up this is this is the best the best way I've ever seen a shirt packaged
[00:24:51] just it's just perfect Hatty bees doesn't sell burritos but they're a they're a food store right it's not a food store they're a restaurant oh my God a food store my
[00:25:04] brain something those of you that don't have experience with mental illness need to understand that like it just it just wrecks your brain and it's doesn't just like make you
[00:25:19] sad it's makes your brain not work and so I'm I I'm going to stutter and stammer and say weird things so just it's just the way it is so beo thank you so much dude
[00:25:39] I this is probably the this one looks a little bit smaller so this is probably the one for me as much as I wanted to open these to show Maggie what the shirt is I did
[00:25:57] not because I wanted to I mean they just showed up so it wasn't like I made her wait a week but so cool what a what a what a great way for a restaurant to package shirts
[00:26:15] actually I'm not going to show it to you I'm not going to show it to you until I'm wearing it especially because this shirt stinks from Days of disgusting
[00:26:48] there it is is that not great is there anything on the back not clean back there it is is so cool these shirts are really nice too the the whoever manufactures the shirts
[00:27:07] that they're then having silk screens they're really nice shirts I don't know if you guys could hear that cuz I was crinkling paper the entire time so thank you beo very cool
[00:27:19] of you man and then I got an adorable little perfectly square box from Preston roach in Texas and I started to open it and then I was like wait no don't open it just wait until the live stream
[00:27:43] and there's a little little thing somebody told me that they were sending me something that they wanted me to open on stream and I don't know if this was it or not but I there's no
[00:27:58] reason not to it's a little guy a little alien looking guy with a little thing that says your anxiety is a lying hoe thank you dude I think hey holds it he holds it there it
[00:28:24] is your anxiety is a lying hoe goddamn right thank you Preston super cool Cloud Hopper with an 891 Super Chat he says just cuz thank you brother I'm behind on chat hold
[00:28:41] on your anxiety is a lying ho I'm going to put that upstairs because there are actually pretty much everybody in this house suffers with relatively severe anxiety it's kind of
[00:28:55] brutal all right hold on let me get caught up on chat ah speaking of beo is rid and grind with a $999 super chat thank you so much dude good timing he says finally got the 1210s to slap
[00:29:10] on the Mobula 6 2024 other than dialing the throttle back in what else needs a tweak in the tune to get it to get it to get back to feeling controllable 1210
[00:29:30] what just happened where did the why did the chat do that hold on the chat just that was weird I've never seen that before hold on 1210 GemFan 1210 which one is that oh oh oh okay
[00:29:47] right the the bblades so the the the tune the tune doesn't have much of an impact like if the tune is bad enough it can cause issues so when when when you push the
[00:30:20] sliders up when you push the numbers up in the pit Loop what it's actually doing is it's decreasing the amount of time before the pit Loop pushes back against against
[00:30:36] problems and when I say problems what that basically means is the the quad not perfectly matching your sticks so in a perfect world every single stick movement
[00:30:50] instantaneously the quad does the exact same thing no delay no overshoot no no bouncing around you push forward it goes forward IM mediately you push to the side it goes to the side
[00:31:00] right The pids Who The the PID tune is is specifically there to the PID tune is there to do that but to also handle the external that tries to put the
[00:31:23] physical thing out of where the sticks are right like you've got the sticks in the center but then the wind hits it and that pushes it to the point where it's not following your your stick command
[00:31:37] right and so if and so since it's timing based if you move the sliders to the left down if you decrease the tune enough it'll slow blow the PID Loop down enough where when you
[00:32:02] push the stick or when the wind hits it's does things that you're not telling it to do and it's a timing thing right so it's basically like a speed thing so the wind will hit's and it'll go even
[00:32:20] though you didn't move the sticks if you have the tune aggressive enough or a lot of times the stock tune is aggressive enough for this when the wind hits it you won't even see that
[00:32:35] happen it will push against the wind quick enough and hard enough that you don't even get to see it happen and then when you move the stick it'll just move the stock BetaFlight tune
[00:32:53] nowadays is aggressive enough that like it you will probably not feel a difference by making the tune more aggressive it's depends on the powertrain it's the a more powerful motor and a lighter
[00:33:19] weight Craft will react quicker right less weight to move more powerful motor which can push harder and that's one of the reasons why like these these preset Tunes are
[00:33:35] sketchy because the preset Tunes don't have any provisions for the specific motor the specific amount of power and the specific all up weight that that you're running and
[00:33:51] so even the stock tune should should be damn near Perfect all that being said there's no reason not to push the tune a little bit especially now that we've got like the master
[00:34:09] multiplier and so the super easy button nowadays is to fly the rig on the stock tune make sure that nothing weird is happening and then you just grab that last slider the master multiplier slider
[00:34:23] and you move it from 1.0 to 1.2 and then you fly the thing again if it's still acting totally fine you move it up to 1.4 fly it if it's still fine 1.6 eventually you'll push that Master
[00:34:36] multiplier up so high that it starts to sound weird or fly weird or fly away like it'll it'll stop being normal and it'll start acting weird and at that point you pull that slider back down and
[00:34:53] that is like a an 80% perfect tune maybe even 85% perfect tune and that's farther than 99% of FPV Pilots have been able to get with their Tunes in the last 10 plus years so the the the
[00:35:16] sliders are incredible and the master multiplier slider is pretty awesome and so do that and if if you want to get even more nerdy and get from a tune in the like 80% to 90%
[00:35:31] we can kind kind of dial in on that but to get started the The Master multiplier is is absolutely where it's at and it's it'll it'll get you damn good so give that a shot that being
[00:35:46] said careful of the placebo tuning with like a normal tune not like a crippled tune a normal tune versus a perfect tune most people can't tell the difference in Flight feel in handling
[00:36:08] prop wash all right but prop prop wash handling doesn't change your experience flying the rig at all you're not going to crash because of prop wash prop wash looks bad in in video but
[00:36:24] who's watching any of our video right very very very few of us are having are in a situation where propwash in our video would affect anyone else on the earth and you can actually make an
[00:36:41] argument that in certain situations prop washing video kind of looks cool how many drone shots have you seen in like commercials and where there's where like when the car goes by the
[00:36:53] camera shakes a bunch usually they're adding that in post which is kind of insane we worked our asses off to remove all of that camera shake and now they're adding it back in in the
[00:37:05] computer but I mean if you have it's harder to get rid of it if you don't have it's easier to add it is a situation there but there you go Uriel says LOL no Veno Tinto hip burp
[00:37:27] Matthew Wagner says finding movement that doesn't feel like exercise can be a cheat code I did 4 2hour Mountain unicycle rides nice this week to hopefully maintain depression
[00:37:40] firewall depression firewall that's a great way of putting it finding something that you enjoy doing that is physical is absolutely a cheat code absolutely absolutely absolutely a cheat
[00:37:56] code for sure every day with Bruno says I'm medicated but honestly want to come off of all of it and just try talk therapy and hobbies see what happens obviously careful doing that but that
[00:38:12] was a that was a path that that was basically my path BR Anderson says I was born an emotional asmatic lifetime of breath work has been the assist for me interesting emotional asmatic I've
[00:38:26] never heard that before that sounds scary my Dad's here what's up Dad how are you danzel the turble says no shirt for Teddy he would look good in red that would be amazing beo there you go man
[00:38:42] dog shirts the chat has asked for it yuriel says no problem dude I'm worse like a ditch guy with blah blah blah Denzil the turble says no no not doing that
[00:38:58] looks like a bird tonian says we will bear with your language challenges just have mercy mer Mercy on our fat fingers Cloud Hopper with an 8991 Super Chat he says just CZ thank you again
[00:39:10] brother Denzil the terrible says I sent you something should be there this week Big Box open on stream for sure that's what it was thank you dude very cool I'm excited higgy 47 says
[00:39:22] I can't get odd in my like an odd number channel OSD OSD can't get OSD in my DJI Integra goggles usually that is either a ports problem in the ports tab you don't have MSP
[00:39:44] display port selected or the version of BetaFlight is too old only the newer versions of BetaFlight have HDD or in the OSD tab ntsc or Pal are are selected rather than HD it's usually
[00:40:04] one of those three problems Uriel tagged me but didn't say anything maybe he put a link can't put links unfortunately ah bimo says what I meant to say is after installing the by blades
[00:40:21] it feels hard to fly especially slow I'm Le if we need to back off anything in the in the stock tun what were the propellers that were on it before the GemFan
[00:40:42] 1210s are compared to the the HQ ultral lights the GemFan 1210s are a little bit heavier which will make the response time a little bit worse but they're also a byblade and so if if
[00:41:01] previously you had a triblade on that could be the deal so you said it feels hard to fly especially slow hard to fly like kind of it's doesn't tell me quite enough the
[00:41:23] language behind flying these things is super difficult and it takes a long time to like figure out the words to describe this and then to try to tell somebody else those words is really tough too
[00:41:39] so that it's tough what I can tell you is that if you were on HQ ultr light props before the GemFan 1210s you've lost you've lost some response time and so when you move the stick or when you
[00:42:03] move the throttle the quad is not going to react as quickly and then byblade versus triblade there's a there's a grip there's a difference in like grip basically and but that that doesn't necessarily
[00:42:32] make it harder to fly I wouldn't think although hard to fly that could mean so many different that could mean so many different things so that's that's
[00:42:47] tough that's tough but the tri Blades versus bblades like when you go when when you go into a corner like when you're flying straight or when you're flying flat it doesn't really matter two blades versus
[00:43:06] Tri blades right like the air is coming in it's hitting all this garbage it doesn't really matter once you start to tilt it up a little bit well now it's matters a little bit right like if
[00:43:15] there's no blades in this case or three blades in this case it's there's more obstruction right the more blades the more obstruction so the air comes in and the air Smacks into it
[00:43:31] and so if you're flying straight and then you go to Corner it matters when you go up to corner like this the more blades the more obstruction for the air and so it's going to it's going to have more
[00:43:48] grip it's when you go to corner it's going to want to Corner better with a by blade when you go to corner it's going to slide a little bit more and if you're cornering like this you can just Hammer
[00:43:59] the throttle right but that's that means that you have to change the way that you fly right and so a lot of what we feel is that we we do the same we do the same thing on the sticks and the quad reacts
[00:44:16] differently right and so the those are the main differences there between bades and tri blades Johnny cat says since the election I've taken up Sim racing I built a
[00:44:33] budget Sim rig with thrustmaster te 598 in the load sensor pedals only FPV compare can compare it to the instant stress relief it provides Sim racing is
[00:44:45] fun so that's those are the differences but what does that Mobula 6224 I think it comes with the GemFan 1219 s's I'm going to make more and more assumptions here are those the 1219
[00:45:23] s's I'm going to make an assumption that it comes with oh no it comes with 1208 by 3 all right so it depends if it came with 1208 by 3s the 1210 bade byblade should be
[00:45:45] better in every way if it came with 1219 s's the 1219 s is a much more pitchy much more powerful prop a bunch of people a bunch of people one person in chat is saying this
[00:46:05] came with 1219 s's that's what I thought so the the 1219 s is I think it's the same weight but because it's so much more pitchy and because it's a
[00:46:24] triblade it is going to feel different I think my I think I think the the best thing I can say here is to get it onto HQ ultral lights Ju Just just fly it around the
[00:46:50] way is next time you do an order get the get all of the all of the HQ ultralate props they are more fragile but they're a lot lighter so get the the 1.2 by 1.2 by blades get a couple of sets of
[00:47:22] these don't get these These are 1.4 in you don't want those you want 1.2 in get a couple of sets of these These are the 30 all 1.2 in is also 30 or 31 mm get these 1.2x 0.9 by 3s
[00:47:43] those are the two main ones get G get get those two what this is going to do is it's going to give you the full Gambit of propeller options and then you can you can get to feel
[00:48:06] the difference between really lightweight propellers and then slightly heavier propellers and you can kind of work that in your out out in your head and then you can you can compare
[00:48:19] byblade to triblade because there's there's specific differences in the weight of the propeller and then there's specific differences in two Blade versus triblade so do that do that but
[00:48:36] if it had 1219 S's and now it's got the 1210 the main thing that you're feeling is triblade versus byblade and the the by blades can I I can see how by blades would feel
[00:48:55] harder to fly because when you go to corner it's going to want to slide more because there's less physical plastic to block the air so you either have to let it slide and some people myself
[00:49:10] included like the way that that that flies or use more throttle use more throttle when you don't want it to I mean that that's like always the solution when you don't want it to slide
[00:49:23] you use more throttle if you have it set up like this where the Bible blades are nice is when you come off the throttle and you want it to slide like when you're inverted right so when I do
[00:49:35] a big ass power Loop and I go and I come in like this and I go full throttle and then I go zero throttle and it goes screaming upside down across the room when it's when it's moving across the
[00:49:49] room like this the by blades it'll it'll sail for longer not when it's like this when it when it's in this state right the number of blades doesn't matter this the aerodynamic situation is
[00:50:02] is here and so the props don't really come into the game it's when I start to turn it like this and that does happen like when when you do a Power loop it's only like this for a split
[00:50:15] second and then you're going to start to rotate it back around to kind of catch the landing and so for a bunch of the by blades will Glide better and they'll also
[00:50:34] dive better right like if you're diving there's a bunch of air flow com up coming up through the props the more blades the more obstruction during the dive and that makes the
[00:50:49] aerodynamic situation a little bit worse so there there are scenarios where the the bblades are a lot better but it's a real trade-off it's a very personal
[00:51:05] thing there's not really anything that you can do in the tune to make the BL the the bi to make by blades fly less like by blades or Tri blades fly less than Tri blades if that makes sense
[00:51:22] the prop is going to fly like the prop you might have to change the tune because one prop is better balanced than another prop but the flight characteristics of two versus three
[00:51:37] versus four versus five blades is kind of is locked in by that propeller I did something very dumb and I didn't click veloc drone an hour before the live stream velocidrone up
[00:51:56] dates a lot yanic says bud I went outside for the first time and I contined enjoy exploring this hobby with your guidance thanks for all the knowledge and all your live streams you're certainly
[00:52:09] welcome went outside for the first time that's funny I'm assuming you mean this year oh a there's an update it's only a 400 Meg update but I've
[00:52:25] had I've had updates with veloc drone that are only aund only a couple hundred Megs take all day so we'll see maybe we're maybe this is not sim Sunday oh yanuk says I mean with a 65 MIM
[00:52:43] drone got it got it got it got it got it got it got it got it got it got it got it got it got it got it yep yep yep yep yep yep hopefully it was a windless day cuz boy they get this hell beat out of
[00:52:54] them disabled any tips for staying closer to objects during Dives yes props in seems to be the the biggest and the most it's props in props in is is one of the biggest things
[00:53:20] lower Idol either digital idle or just like the regular Idol in order to have the lower idle you're probably going to have to come off of 96k but that's a good thing 96k
[00:53:35] is is not worth it you want to be 48k 48k for a little bit more power and a little bit more efficiency 24K we're talking about ESC pwm frequencies here 24K for maximum
[00:53:51] engine braking so 24K would actually be the best technically speaking but I don't do it I I I I would stick with 48 but if you're really looking to maximize dive performance oh nice
[00:54:09] veloc drone way to go 24 would would help cuz it's 24 gives you more motor breaking and the reason why the reason why the the well so we need to talk about that first why
[00:54:30] does it not why does a quad not just dive straight down right why when you go to zero throttle and the motors go to like almost completely idle where they're making almost no thrust why does
[00:54:44] it not just fall straight down wouldn't wouldn't you think that it would just fall straight down right and the reason is the pit Loop and so the first thing you might
[00:54:57] think of is well I'll just I'll just well okay so it's not just the PID Loop it's also I mean it is the pit Loop but it's at zero throttle air mode is what's giving
[00:55:21] the PID Loop additional power and so a lot of people just go oh well I'll just put air mode on a switch okay well then what's going to happen is that it's going to wobble around on the way down
[00:55:36] and you're going to get freaked out and you're going to pick up the throttle and you're going to bail right so turning air mode off is absolutely not the solution it it
[00:55:46] it sure it'll make the thing fall straight down but the video will look terrible on the way down and you'll get motion sick and it'll be a nightmare right so turning air mode off doesn't
[00:55:55] work air mode does not air mode will not pull the quad off of the vertical surface unless it absolutely has to what air mode is doing is is is it's fixing error at zero throttle and
[00:56:20] so when whenever whenever you're at zero throttle if a big gust the wind hits it without air mode it'll go and it'll feel terrible because on the sticks you'll be like what the hell just
[00:56:33] happened and the footage will look terrible this is why air mode is important and anybody that says that you should turn it off is smoking dope and has absolutely no idea what they're
[00:56:42] talking about Andor has absolutely no idea what they're talking about and so the reason that it gets pulled off of the flat surface is that these big t flat
[00:56:57] surfaces are typically outside and there's even if they're inside though a big flat physical surface is going to cause the wind to like swirl and move around and do all
[00:57:11] kinds of weird and so when the wind is moving around and doing all kinds of weird and then you go through that turbulent air that makes the Quad move around and the pit loops job is to flatten that
[00:57:27] out so that it's stays locked it stays on your sticks and so what do you want do you want the footage to be useless and for it to fall perfectly straight down wobbling like a leaf or do
[00:57:42] you want it to look good and fall straight down and for it to fix it and so the pit Loop is fixing the the problems being caused by the turbulent air how does it do that it does that by
[00:57:56] spinning up and slowing down the motors if it speed if it spins if you're diving like this and it speeds up the motors that pulls you off the wall if it breaks the motors down that lets you dive
[00:58:09] perfectly straight 24K pwm frequency has more motor breaking which is why it's slightly better than 48k the problem is 24K has noticeably less power and efficiency than
[00:58:23] 48 yes it has more breaking but not that much more breaking and so I have not changed any of my rigs over to 24 versus 48 if I had a rig that all I did was Dives with it I would absolutely
[00:58:40] change it over to 24 but you probably don't have that but if you're going to build a dive rig then 24K and so if the quad is falling through air that is just a little bit
[00:58:59] turbulent the the motor breaking will be enough to keep it locked in but not pull away from the wall if the turbulent air is so bad that motor breaking is not enough for it to
[00:59:18] not start wobbling it'll add power and adding power will pull it away from the wall and there's nothing you can really do about that so it's really it's the main thing is how turbulent is the air that
[00:59:37] it's falling down through but there's a lot of other things that go into that one of the other things that go into it is the aerodynamics of the Quad a tiny whoop a c whoop is the worst it's got
[00:59:50] the worst aerodynamic situation so the turbulent air is going to have the most effect effect on it but also the the the design itself is creating turbulent air and so that's where props in helps for
[01:00:06] whatever reason props in is a better aerodynamic situation for C whoops and Tiny whoops I don't know why but I I know that it is and so Props in helps because it's a better
[01:00:22] aerodynamic whatever pit tune has nothing to do with it and you could actually argue that the more aggressive the more locked in the pit tune the worse it's going to be
[01:00:37] because the more locked in the pit tune the more aggressive the more power it's going to use and that's going to pull you away from the wall a shitty pit tune will wobble all over the place and that's
[01:00:52] it's using less power what I mean by wobbling all over the but don't adjust your tune for it just understand that you can't fix that issue by increasing the tune but by making the
[01:01:04] tune more aggressive I should say so cutting the ducts off or flying a non-ducted rig that's going to help because it's going to become more aerodynamic and so the turbulent air is
[01:01:17] going to have less of an effect on it those are pretty much all the things oh no the other thing the other thing is that don't dive like this dive like this the the more you pitch
[01:01:38] forward the more your thrust the it does it does two things the the thrust is no longer only pulling you outwards right the thrust is now kind of pulling you down and out so there's just
[01:01:55] less thrust to pull you out but the thing that it really does is it's to some extent this thing is going to the the quad is going to act like a wing so if it's falling down like this some of
[01:02:07] the air some of the incoming air is just going to get deflected and that's going to pull it in and SO pitching forward more and more and more helps quite a bit at some point you
[01:02:22] pitch forward so much that you're you're not really looking down anymore and you're just looking at the object and see you kind of have to stop but from a flying standpoint the two things that you
[01:02:34] can do are on the way down you can pitch forward more and more and more or just start the dive pitched forward right don't like you which you should be doing anyway because like the thing that
[01:02:49] you're diving down that's the subject that's the cool looking thing you don't want to just like look straight down and have the very bottom of the frame I'll show you guys this in the simulator
[01:03:00] actually we'll go to the city map having just the very bottom of your frame be the cool thing that you're diving down that doesn't make any sense fill the frame with the cool thing that
[01:03:10] you're diving down and then just have the ground be the top little strip and so if you've done that you've pitched forward a bunch the other thing you can do from a flying standpoint is to throw
[01:03:22] yourself into the rig what a lot of people do is they'll kind of like fly up to the top of the thing and then they'll just turn over and try to fall down it don't do that fly towards it turn over
[01:03:35] come in get nice and close and then as when you're super close that's when you kind of zero out the throttle if if you just flut it's feels a lot safer to just kind of like inch up to it and then
[01:03:48] just flip over when you flip over that's going to boost the throttle and that's going to already start to pull you away and then you've already generated at this like flight path where you're kind
[01:03:57] of flying away you want to be pushing towards it and then turn over and then you can use just the tiniest little bit of throttle hopefully no throttle hopefully zero throttle and the little
[01:04:10] bit of Corrections that it makes will slow you down and get you perfectly locked in and then you fall down zero throttle those are absolutely all the things but that's like a half a dozen different
[01:04:23] things and they all really matter I I I absolutely love diving stuff and so I've thought a lot about it over the years and I've I've also been really annoyed when I've
[01:04:38] set up a really cool dive and at zero throttle I get pulled away from the object so I've I've I've screwed around a lot to try to kind of figure it out and those are all the things that
[01:04:49] I've kind of figured out cool yanx we got that cloud Hopper says do you recommend switching to props in on 75mm whoops every single thing that I build that has any kind of a prop guard
[01:05:11] is props in as soon as there's a prop guard 50% of the advantage of going props out is lost 50% of the advantage of props out is that if you hit a stick the propeller blade in theory pulls the
[01:05:29] stick out of the way when there's a prop guard the prop guard does that job the other 50% of the advantage of props out is that if you are yawing and rolling which is what you do when
[01:05:48] you corner you coordinate the sticks and you push left yaw and left roll or right and right when you yaw in the same direction as you're rolling the outside rear motor
[01:06:04] has to do both the yaw and the roll and in the olden days of power trains that didn't make much power you could run out of power back here and it and the and the the the rear outside
[01:06:20] motor would like Drop for a split second I have not had that issue in like five or six years so you can argue that that's not an issue anymore you could also argue that when you're
[01:06:37] when your props in you're giving that one motor more work to do all the time and it's going to get hotter and so if you go props out it's going to split the work this motor if you're going left
[01:06:50] this motor is going to be the one that handles y'all and this one's going to be the one that handles roll and so you could argue and you're probably not wrong that there's a little bit of
[01:06:59] efficiency to be gained from props out because of that because it's splitting the task between these two I think the racers do run props out for that reason the racers don't do
[01:07:14] Dives they don't fly cinematic and so props out if you're racing props in for everything else as as far as I'm concerned unless you go to a racetrack that has a big dive in it then
[01:07:29] propson will actually help during that dive so there you go Yanik says it was windy unfortunately and the quad fell randomly you see on the DVR the throttle going up while amp's going down waiting for
[01:07:47] those 300 MH bt30 for my 275 Wendy dead thanks Canon you steaming pile of on a windy day there's not a whole hell of a lot you can do props in is going to be the
[01:08:10] biggest thing to help on a windy day but so the on a windy day the things that'll help would be to remove the prop guards go props in and 24K on the pwm
[01:08:27] frequency that's it oh and okay so it actually wasn't Canon it was YouTube being a steaming pile of hold on I got to relaunch YouTube I mean the Canon software is still awful but in this case YouTube is
[01:08:43] what triggered the Canon software to its pants all right there we go and we're back so there you go I'm gonna Sim Sunday I'm going to change the name of the stream because we just talked about
[01:09:14] that for like 20 minutes making whoops dive better there we go that's a good discussion that I have like maybe once a month maybe once every other month good question thank
[01:09:32] you for letting me talk about that because it's really does make a difference it really each one of those things absolutely make a difference doing all of those things really
[01:09:42] makes a difference bimo says was on the stock Tri blades before it was feeling good controllable put the by blades on it feels so oh interesting it feels overpowered and
[01:09:59] hard to control okay so what I think that means is that you got a Mobula 6 2024 with the old school props the old school G fan 128s you can check this the the propellers all have
[01:10:17] their names stamped on them but it's outrageously small like you'll you'll probably need a little 5x Loop L which you should have anyway or like some kind of a magnifying glass
[01:10:33] but on the on the Leading Edge of the blade up up by The Hub wait no I can show you on a big prop they do the same thing on big props they they they put the the name of the propeller in the
[01:10:49] same place on big propellers if this dog doesn't stop barking outside I'm going to light it on fire it's not it's not Teddy it's someone else's dog there you go
[01:11:07] 7035 so that that is the location of the the the name and the pitch and the size of all propellers big or small they always put it right there on the inside of the Leading Edge so you can check
[01:11:24] if if the problem is that it's now making too much power in BetaFlight in the pids tab you can use the motor limiting the motor limiting is going to be set at 100 100% right now
[01:11:43] you can bring that down to like 90% or even 80% less power will absolutely make a rig easier to fly so you can you can definitely give that a shot and you can always just change it back right
[01:11:59] it's no big deal but it's in the pids tab BetaFlight and then pids tab and you'll see motor limiting when when you're new throttle throttle control is the hardest
[01:12:14] thing in FPV flying when you're new it's the thing that you have absolutely the most trouble with because it's the hardest thing people struggle with it that are years into the hobby and so
[01:12:25] if you make a change that that makes a rig more powerful yes for sure it's going to be harder to fly yep so give that a shot there's no shame in limiting the amount of power that
[01:12:41] especially like the Mobula 6 2024 the air 65 these are pretty powerful pretty lightweight rigs the olden days of tiny whoops we had like half the power to weight ratio and they were still hard
[01:12:53] to fly back then so all of this new generation of tiny whoop like I love them out of the box but I'm many thousands of batteries in and I have enough time spent to be
[01:13:05] able to handle that extra power to weight ratio so motor limiting motor limit those down disabled con and okay I can't speak says thanks it's been driving me nuts trying to refine my technique
[01:13:18] I'll try props in run 48 across and always have a mode on air mode if if you didn't have air mode on it's actually turning air mode on is actually going to make it worse for the record
[01:13:32] but you want air mode on just like on everything that you fly having air mode off is insane the only situation where air mode off makes any sense is if you're flying inside of a building and you
[01:13:48] specifically want to fly right next to a wall and Cruise next to a wall when when you're next to a wall and you're cruising the some of the wash from this side
[01:14:06] that's next to the wall it'll make it want to like like pull into the wall but it's not it's not that big of a problem I had air mode on a switch forever the number of times that I
[01:14:21] would accidentally hit that switch and have air mode be off and be super confused as to why the rig was flying so horrible versus the number of times that I actually flipped the switch to turn a
[01:14:32] mode off was like a million to one it was just it was just something that like never happened I I I never was in a situation where I was like oh what I need right now in this very
[01:14:42] moment to turn air mode off CU there just aren't many situations where you ever need to turn air mode off n says I will if if you find yourself in the situation all the
[01:15:00] time where you're flying and the rig goes and it like sticks to the wall and it gets stuck to the wall having air mode on a switch you can flip that switch that will turn air mode
[01:15:14] off and it will like come down off the wall and you can fly away I just disarm and then rearm real quick and that basically accomplishes the same thing it kind of tumbles for a split second but I
[01:15:27] I I don't find myself in a situation where it up against anything very often and when it does I just disarm it I I don't care let it fall to the carpet and take it back off it's doesn't
[01:15:38] matter but if you are constantly finding yourself in a situation where you're flying along and you bump into an object and the thing freaks out and air mode gets conf basically What's Happening
[01:15:50] Here is that air mode is getting confused when the the quad doesn't understand what a physical object is that these are designed to fly in the air they're not designed to hit so
[01:16:02] when they're in the air they're good they don't understand when they hit something and so when they hit something they fire the motors up to try not to try to avoid they fire the motors up
[01:16:17] because it's just confused and sometimes when you hit something if it digs in just perfectly wrong and the motors fire up it can push up against it and then it really doesn't know
[01:16:31] what's happening and all it can really do is make more thrust and push harder into the thing so it goes and it spins the motors all up with air mode off at zero throttle there's like no power the
[01:16:45] the the pit Loop has no power at zero throttle so it doesn't have enough power to push itself up against the thing so it'll just like it'll just kind of act weird but for most people that
[01:17:00] doesn't happen all that often there you go there's the full answer since this is long form content the whole point is for me to give the full answer to questions Nick hay says I'll have
[01:17:14] to experiment today with a few batteries both ways only changing prop Direction props in is pretty awesome on on rigs with weird aerodynamic situations it
[01:17:25] on C whoops I find that they do everything better on props in they they handle prop wash better they handle like like I I I noticed it like if I would just do like a Full Throttle blip and
[01:17:38] just like throw it and catch throw it and catch like the the really light prop wash maneuver when I when I went to props in on my cine whoops it did stuff like this better it just it just
[01:17:51] there's something about it aerodynamically that's better beo think be beo says I think we I think we just it's just 90% me being being new and feeling how different the flight characters are
[01:18:07] impacting early muscle memory let's see what six battery is does that that's part of it but as a new pilot it's an new pilots are less able to adjust to changes and unfortunately new pilots don't have
[01:18:28] the the the stick time or the vocabulary to really understand like why these things are happening and exactly what's happening but what's cool is like like you definitely noticed a difference
[01:18:44] somebody that's got a couple thousand batteries in sometimes they'll just adjust and they won't even think about it and difference can sort of be lost so there there's actually a lot
[01:18:55] to be said for it's a super catch 22 because like when you're new and something like this changes all of a sudden you go from like being able to fly and not crash constantly to
[01:19:14] oh my God all I'm doing is crashing and so difference there is huge but unfortunately like you don't have the vocabulary you don't have the experience to understand why the hell
[01:19:26] that's happening and so it's kind of wasted experience is kind of wasted once you've gotten good it doesn't make you crash all the time because you're able to adjust
[01:19:39] but that and so difference that the change makes is is like less in that respect hopefully that makes sense but throttle control is the most difficult part of FPV flying and
[01:19:54] making a change that creates more power will always make that rig harder to fly so get into the pids tab drop that motor limiting to like 90 or even 80% and you'll it'll be a lot
[01:20:10] better Benny Bravo says how does props in help you I just spent almost a half an hour talking about that brother are you are you behind on the live stream or did you just join in if you
[01:20:21] just joined just rewind a half an hour whole big giant conversation about it jonian says send Teddy out to teach him he would make it worse Denzel the turbo says I have invert gy orientation
[01:20:34] on a switch makes for a fun time how do you have that on a switch that's insane Nick Hayes says my house the Halls are tight I have it on the two position so button on the
[01:20:51] Tango 2 have just got used to turning off off and on really quick interesting I never thought about putting it on a on like a momentary switch that's a cool
[01:21:04] idea I mean you said two position but I I'm huh having a having it on a momentary switch eliminates the my my the main reason that I took air mode on a switch off is literally that like if that switch
[01:21:28] got hit in my bag and I started flying the quad it would it wouldn't have air mode on and they don't fly right when they don't have air mode on and but putting it on a momentary
[01:21:43] switch eliminates that possibility right because the momentary switch is springloaded interest interesting I don't have my momentary switch set as an output
[01:22:01] though and I haven't I haven't set up an output in so long that I don't necessarily know if I don't I don't know if I know how to do it
[01:22:25] I mean I would first have to set up the input I guess wow I don't even know how to do it right you have to set it up as an input I would call it
[01:22:58] mmt for momentary mm I just did this all wrong capital M lowercase m t momentary source would be here sh and I guess that's all I have to do on the inputs right
[01:23:32] weight 100 offset zero switch mode okay I think that's all I have to do in the inputs I wish you guys could see this but whatever mixes what the hell would I have to do
[01:23:49] here mix set up a new mix mix name mmt m m I'm talking you through exactly what I'm seeing mmt Ur r s t Okay mmt weight 100 offset One Source mmt mixes so this is on channel 10
[01:24:24] but wait's only sends like eight channels right so this isn't is it this is not going to send this we'll see warning off switch diff mmt 100
[01:24:44] arm what is this SC what's SC what switches Channel 8 100sc what the hell is this recover oh crash recover what's switch SC SC I don't think it's going to send this Channel
[01:25:17] 10 let's see though just just for the sake of argument I think I would have to put it on Channel 8 right cuz doesn't elrs only send eight channels about to
[01:25:31] see pretty sure it only sends eight which is really all you need but all right let's take a look receiver Tab and then oh it's sending it on aux 6
[01:25:55] why is it doing that I don't care why it's doing that well that's pretty cool so find a momentary switch figure out what channel it's coming through so I want it to trigger at
[01:26:13] the left switch position this is when I go switch up this is switch down it's spring-loaded down so I would want air mode to be on all the way off on the right there and then off on the left so
[01:26:28] what that means is you come in here to modes you go to oh well first you got to go into configuration and you got to turn permanent air mode off you don't want to permanently enable
[01:26:43] it anymore and I believe that's the default which is totally fine and then you're going to come in here and you're going to add range flip that switch and it'll will automatically
[01:26:54] pick up on aux 6 and so you want air mode on when it's here but then you want air mode off when it's over here and so you can see air mode is now on when the switch is down and then I I mean it
[01:27:08] doesn't matter how much you open this up but as long as when it's lined up with this other switch position right so when I flip the switch you see this little so this little yellow Mark is
[01:27:21] where the switch is now so this is going to be air mode on because this range is there air mode off puts that little yellow Mark here so technically I could do that doesn't really matter just
[01:27:33] do that this is only a two position switch so it only has those two positions I could also technically do this and it would still work the same way this can this can be anywhere in
[01:27:43] here because it's not a three position switch a three position switch you've also got this Center position right so now I have air mode now I can disable air mode by hitting my
[01:27:58] momentary switch which I will never remember to do but there you go that's how you do it also I would have to make this change on 15 different builds that is a good idea though
[01:28:16] every once in a while there will be a situation where being able to turn air mode off is a good thing only really with ducted rigs with with with an open propeller rig it's pretty much only
[01:28:32] like when it when you're next to a wall and it gets pulled into a wall and an an open prop rig if you get pulled into a wall these propellers are going to smash into that wall it's going to stall the
[01:28:42] motors out and it's going to fall out of the sky anyway so it really only matters on a ducted rig where it can suck against the wall and keep spinning the propellers and then if you remember to
[01:28:53] hit that switch it's going to bring these motors down to idle and it's going to usually what it'll do is it'll start sliding down the wall at that point you can push the roll
[01:29:05] stick to get it off the wall but you're going to have to be holding the the the a mode disabled for me it's now up here so I'm going to have to be holding this and
[01:29:19] then so I'm basically going have to hit this with this middle finger and then Roll Off the Wall in in One Direction which I might be able to do I I've been flying long enough where I might have
[01:29:30] the the mental power to actually do that the problem is going to be that I'm going to have to make that change that I just made on literally 15 different rigs it's not really I'm not the rig that
[01:29:42] I just put it on is probably the dumbest one to put it on because this is only really for flying outside and that's never going to happen outside but in the the weird chance that I do fly this
[01:29:53] thing inside so having on a momentary switch is kind of cool it's also cool that that I I I just did a thing on on edtx I was pretty sure that what I was doing wasn't going to
[01:30:12] work bored bits says has crash avoidance changed that sort of so crash avoidance when you bang into something hard enough well see that's the problem the they don't usually stick
[01:30:31] to the wall when you hit the wall hard when you hit the wall hard the it bounces off the wall where this usually happens is where you just barely graze the wall and that doesn't trigger crash
[01:30:44] avoidance so I don't think crash avoidance or crash recovery rather has I I don't think it's going to ever over lap with this situation what crash recovery does is it quickly turns on the
[01:30:59] accelerometer and so that'll flatten the thing out so it might actually help because if you hit the wall hard enough for it to trigger crash avoidance it's going to try to level itself out and if
[01:31:11] it levels itself out that is not going to be pulling itself into the wall so cra if if anything I I believe that crash recovery would help I could totally be wrong though
[01:31:27] ESP spander says turning a mode off is very useful when you're flying back on badly damaged props oh good call it can literally save your Motors or ESC from frying doesn't apply to Tiny
[01:31:39] whoops though that is very very very true if if you've banged up a propeller or a motor or an arm and when you're at zero throttle it's trying to fly away on you being able to turn
[01:31:55] air mode off will limit the amount of power that the pit Loop is able to access it's still going to be try it's still going to be freaking out a little bit but it won't be freaking out nearly
[01:32:07] as hard what's funny is when I was waiting for Florence to get out of talk therapy I crashed and the battery came out of the battery Bay on this and so the battery was just dangling
[01:32:24] and this was starting to wobble at zero throttle and fly away and so now that I have it on that momentary in that moment if ID thought about it I would have been able to hit that momentary switch and
[01:32:36] kill and kill that and that would have let this thing drop back down what when when those situations happen what I do is I just point the nose at the ground and just fly the thing like
[01:32:49] this to get the elevation down and then pick the nose back up to get elevation and then put put the nose back down and that'll let you get the thing down to the ground I've dealt with it
[01:33:00] enough where it's I just sort of do that without thinking too much about it but very very true spander really really really good point Denzel the terrible says I was just
[01:33:16] joking I think that would make it instantly impact the Earth oh invert G orientation okay I was wondering what you were I I assumed that it was it was 3D mode related Nick says momentary
[01:33:29] would be ideal or I wonder if you can just put both angle and air mode off on the same switch so if you hit's levels out and it shuts off and can't forget that
[01:33:41] angle does not I don't think angle uses air mode because angle doesn't really use the pit Loop in the same sort of way so flipping up into angle mode don't quote me on that though I I
[01:33:58] could be wrong you could absolutely put them on the same switch but I don't know if it would do anything but don't do that put it on momentary because if you flip it into angle I
[01:34:13] don't know that's interesting try it and let us know Mr mey says I've got air mode disabled only for angle mode which is my oh switch interesting interesting maybe Mr mey knows
[01:34:28] when when you changed angle mode to have air mode disabled was there a noticeable difference like did you specifically test that Co pow says sounds like exactly the thing for TX startup yep TX
[01:34:42] startup switch warnings are great I just don't know how to do them and I refuse to look it up David sainty says I know it's not much to go on but DJI chose props in on
[01:34:54] the Avada so I'm sure there must be benefits did they really the the mark spats noticed and put a video out literally years ago at this point about props in helping elevation drop
[01:35:11] performance on cine whoops and I've done props in so much now that and enough other people have that it's absolutely unequivocal that on a whoop props in is absolutely the way to go so
[01:35:27] it's makes a lot of sense that DJI did that did I wonder if they did that on both the iada one and the two it would be interesting if they didn't do it on the iada one but then they did do
[01:35:39] it on the Avada 2 Nick Hayes says you have to turn off what's that mean Cole power says SC is a switch in the upper fright front upper upper right
[01:35:56] front front left of the right momentary toggle switch whatever Denzel okay Nick says listen to us trying to give SE advice and sing up BetaFlight just practice some cruising by the
[01:36:19] wall after a few batteries you will be automatically hitting that new moment at my at my apartment in in Alpharetta I had a big long hallway that was somewhat narrow and that I
[01:36:38] believe that was when I started that was when I decided to put air mode on a switch because it would happen there it doesn't happen here there there aren't any like long hallways here
[01:36:54] where I'm in that very unique situation where like you're spending a bunch of time next to a wall and you just barely scraped that wall enough for it to freak out where it where it happens the the
[01:37:14] the the rare time that it happens here is when I hit a gate face F like if I'm nose down if I'm like very nose down and I slap into a gate and the gate goes up like this that's when
[01:37:32] sometimes it'll stick to it but like I don't even think about it I just disarm real quick and then rearm so we'll see we'll see if I can adjust my mental I don't know pretend I said another
[01:37:49] word that made sense here Nick says could put angle on that same momentary switch I try not to trigger angle mode too often though that be that'd be interesting to try I'll try this
[01:38:06] first and then I'll and then maybe we'll do some some backtack in not today but in the future Nick hay says but what it means is it works kind of like crash recovery true
[01:38:21] Mr mey says yes I started flying with mode and angle on whoops IND door and kept getting sucked up when flying under the table till I turned air mode off oh that's interesting I wonder if holding that
[01:38:35] momentary switch when I fly under the coffee table might make it easier to fly under the coffee table interesting BMF Spade says Ava 2 is props in anybody have an Ava one to
[01:38:47] know if that's props in or out asander says another scenario to turn it off is when you find yourself in a very tight space with some scraggle for example turning it off makes the
[01:38:57] Quad less touchy to prevent it from overreacting that's true that's true if you're flying through scraggle I me it kind of depends on how aggressive your tune is but if you're flying in and
[01:39:07] out of scraggle when the scraggle hits it's gonna it's going to make it jump a little bit interesting Mr mey says I I no longer fly in angle mode even indoors though so it's just my oh
[01:39:20] switch sure render says I angle on a switch for when I get the spins after a big crash and it acts like crash Rec cover in my bigger quads sometimes when when you're in a spin it
[01:39:32] gets into there's no way out of it's gets into like this gyro overflow I think it's called in there State Matthew Wagner says Ava one product images look props in including an old
[01:39:49] press release that were probably original images okay cool I mean DJI has enough budget to do actual testing and so if they did actual testing it doesn't surprise me at all
[01:39:59] that they would do props in all right veloc drone's running Let's is it really 4:45 already holy okay I thought this is going to be a shorter stream
[01:40:12] wow okay we had a couple giant conversations which just ate up a ton of time that's great I I I I don't know I I've I've done streams of a certain length for a long time and
[01:40:26] doing streams that are shorter than that feels like I'm not working hard enough for you guys so I I didn't feel great being like I didn't stream the other day and now it's going to be a short stream
[01:40:38] sucks for you guys but this is actually kind of great that we had some some things that ate up a good chunk of time and I don't know other words
[01:40:54] the name of the session is going to be CiottiFPV and we are going to go to the city map because I want to show you how you can fly in a way that what I want to show you what you
[01:41:12] can do with your flying to dive closer to objects without being pulled away from said objects something happened to the computer and I just have no audio the computer's been very strange from like
[01:41:29] an audio standpoint lately it's been giving me some really weird delays in my audio but now I just have no audio which is pretty
[01:41:52] annoying hold on well now I have it God I hate computers so much oh have audio again very weird all right so first thing when you're on your way down look in towards the object more
[01:42:23] don't do this this is going to pull you away I I I don't know I don't know how accurate the Sim is zero throttle there's certainly no swirling wind on the sides of these bottoms but don't dive like
[01:42:37] that dive like this fill the fill the image with the cool thing that you're diving down look in towards the object oh the Sim is did you see it pulling me in wow that's impressive way
[01:42:54] to go veloc drone so if I look like this it's pulling me out see it pulling me out whereas if I look in there it goes pulls me in you see that there you go that'll be much
[01:43:13] more pronounced in real life so that's the first thing is to look in and then what's really cool about that is you can fly down the side on the throttle so when you're looking in you
[01:43:32] can manage the throttle to manage your Gap if you're looking straight down you're zero throttle the whole way and you have no control and so you're just you you you have no
[01:43:46] control you want to look in enough that you can ride the throttle on the way down and if you can ride the throttle on the way down then you can dive really
[01:44:01] close that's how you get super I did a terrible job of that I was trying to I was in a hurry the other thing is to start the dive with some inward momentum don't do this thing don't do this like
[01:44:16] oh my God oh my God oh my God oh my God a look how far out you already are it's just useless by being super careful you completely ruin the entire thing I know it feels weird to fly
[01:44:39] directly at at a solid object from hundreds of feet up but look look look it's super safe turn yourself over and if you panic Hammer the throttle and you won't hit's the burst of power that you
[01:45:00] get from jamming Full Throttle right like and it happens quick like you're not going to hit's you can always just blast Full Throttle well that time I hit's but what I'm
[01:45:21] saying get some momentum going inwards turn it around and now see that's what you don't want you don't you don't want to I'm doing it like super drastic but you want to have a little bit so like
[01:45:33] realistically right if you're going to dive a building if you're going to dive a big thing you're going to be flying around and it's going to be cool and then you're going to have the object and
[01:45:43] you're going to show the object as you're climbing it and so show the object from back here and then when you get towards the top come in towards it turn over and dive
[01:45:57] it don't do this thing I I see a lot of people do this thing where they come right up and they what is this what am I looking at I have no sense of scale this is like this is like some some Voyer
[01:46:12] th don't this is stupid what is this am I 10 ft up am I 20 ft up and now I've crashed because the wind is swirling on the side of the building and it's weird if you're going to dive
[01:46:25] something that's tall stay the hell away from it and crash into the building across the street from it stay away from it and show it as you climb it and then once you're at the top then
[01:46:37] you get close right stay away show how tall it is show how cool it is and then approach turn over nice and early flip the throttle and ride the throttle on the way down that's how you
[01:47:00] stay close to it you give yourself a little bit of inward on the way on the approach little bit of inward momentum turn over nice and early and just touch the throttle when
[01:47:14] you get nice and close to it momentum on the way in gentle use the throttle to stay off that was cool right makes sense oh for Christ sakes oh I didn't die for all of you people that like to
[01:47:52] feel sick there you go now you can feel sick to your stomach GH I think there's a building inward momentum I'm dragging the throttle to generate that inum there did you guys see
[01:48:20] that just kind of doing it all off camber a little bit not off camber but stay away don't be close to it momentum towards it turn over and relax always want inward
[01:48:57] momentum before the dive because then you can manage it there's always going to be some outward Force you can kill most of it by just pitching forward a lot like this but this is too much that
[01:49:10] doesn't actually look good right that's me like kind of trying to save it you don't want to have to look in that much you want to be able to just do like something like that
[01:49:23] this is what I I really like to do it if if you can get another object here climb that other object pitch back and that'll give you the the inward momentum like the world's biggest
[01:49:40] halfpipe it also it's a surprise it's like oh surprise dive but blast of Full Throttle we use this blast of Full Throttle to save us all the time right
[01:49:59] we get lots of practice doing that and so take advantage of the fact that that Full Throttle blast is very natural and you're used to doing it oh we in it now
[01:50:41] no building let's see who else has it oh it's just going to keep velocitron is acting really weird it's kicks me off of spectating I don't understand why face first
[01:51:28] H missed it okay ni says thanks for all the time you take to help everyone explain explain explain things much appreciated you're certainly welcome dude yriel says you're the
[01:51:48] best thank you man the Endo the ter it's a really good way to think about it he says I like to think of div as something you fly down not fall down rolling forward on on the throttle is how you do that
[01:52:00] yep yep yep yep very true I I forgot to shill se fpv.one crazy Dives moving the sticks all around let's see what Raven's up to Raven's getting some work
[01:52:33] in so I don't know if my veloc drone's being weird but you guys are wobbling all around for me like in in my opinion you want to be
[01:52:47] really Dives look better the the less is more BAS basically the doing a dive is something that we can't do in any other way other than skydiving with a head cam but you really can't do that
[01:53:03] right you can't do this with helicopters and so with a dive in my opinion do as little as you can like in approaching the thing it's a big tall thing that you don't usually see
[01:53:21] the top of so you want to be nice and smooth and then on the way down you want to be ultra smooth I don't even like the whole like rotating on the way down I know why people do it I I
[01:53:37] think the main reason that people rotate on the way down a dive is they don't set the dive up properly and they don't look straight down and so they're getting pulled away and so they do these
[01:53:46] rotations so that they can pop they can add throttle on the way down right so it's like oh I'm getting pulled away well I'll just do this and then I can add throttle well now I'm already
[01:53:56] rolling so it would look weird to stop rolling so I'm just going to roll the whole way down and it's just that that just no like this looks so much
[01:54:09] better so much better like no one has ever been able to dive a building so let the viewer enjoy the dive don't like our piloting is not always the the star of the show right
[01:54:26] and like in this scenario the star of the show is the actual dive itself and so for me if you're going to do any kind of a rotation it should be really slow it should be an ultra
[01:54:42] slow rotation in order to do that you have to be really confident with it and you got to set it up right and you got to follow these kind of like basic things that's what'll keep you
[01:54:54] from kind of being all over the place see how much less impressive that was like what's in terms of like the the the climb up the building right like what's more impressive this I'm kind of wobbling all over the
[01:55:15] place CU it's hard to do it right versus this this shows the scale right like holy that's a big building it just keeps going and going and going and you're looking at something different all the
[01:55:32] way up ah I thought I could Salvage that but I was in too deep this map has these really cool little channels that you can get in I think this is one of the buildings right
[01:55:58] which are like super fun to mess around with but a it's like black in there I I have studio lights so I can't really see on my monitor but it's awful dark in there but the other thing that
[01:56:10] happens is a lot of times once you get in there you have to make all these tiny little adjustments and to me that just really takes away from it I would rather be out
[01:56:19] here on like a perfect smooth dive then on the inside making a half a dozen little Corrections but that I mean that's dealer's Choice sometimes you can get it just
[01:56:34] right but see like popping out looks like a huge mistake for me I would rather just throw myself at it get close right like that's just dope and it gives the viewer
[01:56:54] time to kind of see what's going on with Dives remember that you can be active on the throttle right when when you move the throttle it has to move the entire weight of the quad and so it's
[01:57:08] not really perceptible right did it's you saw me watch my throttle if you weren't this time at the bottom here it didn't look like I was bouncing the throttle up and down right because it
[01:57:27] has to move the entire weight of the of the Quad so you can be fairly active I mean you could even make the argument that like you should specifically be active on the
[01:57:40] throttle so that if you need to make a if you need to make a really quick correction you're you're already kind of bouncing the throttle and you're already sort of
[01:57:51] there if you're I find that like if you're if you're bouncing the throttle around like this if you have to make a quick correction like you're ready to go it's you're you're less like
[01:58:02] reacting and you're more like I don't know it's probably a psychosomatic thing but that's okay too you can also go Full Throttle Down the side of the building that's a
[01:58:19] terrible thing to do but you got to you got to really like look in towards the building you only really want to do that if you're next to it like this looking
[01:58:28] sideways and then it's hell to catch it at the bottom great thing to do in the Sim I don't know if I would ever do this in real life I mean like look how much I
[01:58:48] can move the throttle around and you can't even tell right can't really tell at all I can go full full to nothing well you can sort of tell a little bit once I got some
[01:59:03] forward speed I guess you can tell a little bit but that's going from zero to full if you're down on the ground you can tell cuz your elevation cuz you have a marker right like the
[01:59:18] ground is a marker you can still barely tell as I slam into the ground Co power says I feel like post stabilization can fix the small Corrections make a tight dive with lots
[01:59:35] of Corrections look look much smoother than it has any business looking especially if you're shooting in 4x3 and then doing gyro flow or real steady and 16 by9 it can move the frame
[01:59:54] up and down but for the most part like small small Corrections in the throttle you'll never see you'll never ever ever ever see this isn't just the simulator this is just real life because again
[02:00:05] small Corrections in the throttle it has to move 600 or 700 or 800 gram when you do roll it only has to rotate the weight of the motors and props and arms right same thing with pitch same thing with
[02:00:18] yaw you do all kinds of fun with Dives do like a little halfpipe action one of the cool I mean the if you're going to climb tight to the side of the building do something with that do like
[02:00:51] a half pipe of the end of it and do it at Full Throttle like get up the side of the building but like do something with it see it pulling me away that's because all right so here's
[02:01:03] the other thing to remember when you use roll or pitch or yaw it's going to create thrust and so if you're hug close to the the side of the building and you do
[02:01:17] that that was a bad example if you're close to the side and then you do a big hit like this well see I'm offsetting it I'm getting closer to the building cuz I
[02:01:31] know that when I turn away it's going to gather a bunch of thrust how can I show you this so if you're perfectly climbing the top of the building not getting closer not getting
[02:01:44] farther away and then you turn out see how it's pushing me away it's cuz it's the the quad uses thrusts to do pitch and roll and yaw so anything that you do at the
[02:01:58] top of the building is going to pull you away which is why you need to have that that momentum going in I get I I guess we already talked about this like if you just hover
[02:02:11] it and stall it out up top so that you can get comfortable when you turn around it's already going to be pushing you out and then you're going to have to fight to get back in so it should be one big
[02:02:25] movement if if you're stuck if you end up getting too close come back out one nice smooth motion close to back out and then to back in and something that I do a lot without
[02:02:49] really thinking about it is like once I have a stick once I have the sticks in a position I just kind of leave them right so I'm like leaving it the entire way down that that's just sort of
[02:03:05] my personal flight style if I was going to like fly up this to specifically dive this building I would freeze here and I would like properly dive the damn thing but like having a little bit
[02:03:20] of rotation in there is not bad especially like like in that case I had it I I didn't Center myself like a really good centered dive like you're going to have to be on
[02:03:34] you're going to have to be relatively centered if you're coming in at a diagonal like this it's going to be hard to kill that sideways momentum so maybe let the rotation kind of
[02:03:45] go and keep keep sort of rotating there mess around with it that's a personal style kind of thing anything looks better than any of this stuff looks better than this
[02:04:06] nonsense I swear to God if I see one more person doing this just don't even dive the building just go into a field and just do this it's the same thing this this in the middle of a field is the same thing
[02:04:21] thing as like the once in a-lifetime dive opportunity where you're doing this this is useless don't do this just don't even dive don't even fly if you're going to do that just put your on Facebook
[02:04:36] Marketplace and don't even fly all right friends it's 5:00 who who streams now is it is it mad I think Ian streams go get some go get you some mads Tech my
[02:05:26] friends I'll see you guys tomorrow night thanks for hanging oh I had the Gemini module on that entire time whoopsie thanks for bearing with me while I try
[02:05:39] to get my brain to cooperate again here's some flight footage from the 2inch 04 rig out in front of the house I'll see you guys tomorrow night wait no hold
[02:06:07] on I'm good tell mad te I sent you and show the man some love we all it's insane that that he exists in this world love you bye by n n a
