[00:02:23] what's up friends my name is Aaron Ciotti everybody calls me Ciotti welcome to Friday farting fart farty fart fart fart fresh gear Friday you were just watching the 2S rig I told you I'd get
[00:02:38] it back togetherI've been working like a mad dog over the last like 48 hours I've gotten so much done which is great because there's a lot to get done right now there's all kinds of
[00:02:50] stuff really cool stuff going on so this is this is good things are going well hold on it's always nice when my when my brain cooperates and allows me to do good
[00:03:10] things so you were just watching the 2S 75mm setup with WalkSnail on The Zing 0803 19,000 KV Motors they are motor limited down a little bit there is a yaw twitch going
[00:03:26] on which could mean that this AI has a bad gyro or it could just be something weird with these motors I got it a couple of times and then I backed off the pids and I didn't get it again I
[00:03:40] only had I only had time to fly that one battery though so I got to put a bunch more batteries through this we'll fly one I I have two charged right now we'll we'll put a battery through this
[00:03:49] in the house and see if see how much stuff I Can Break also going to plug this thing into BetaFlight so that we can take a look around and see if there's anything weird going on I
[00:04:01] think I'm also going to motor limit these down a little bit's got an awful lot of power right now like more power than it kind of needs so we're going to check this out and see if
[00:04:14] we can figure out what that twitch is and it's looking good for this I have OSD again I should be able to start testing Motors again thus far I I have run a couple of batteries on the
[00:04:34] t-motor 102 18,000 KV Motors and so far these are my favorite I've run I have not run any batteries through these BetaFPV 1102 18000s I'm really looking forward to trying these and then I
[00:04:53] ran a couple of batteries through a set of old school two-piece Bell red and black half model 0802 19000s it was really decent on those old school Motors I could tell though
[00:05:09] that those Motors would get a little hot and then they would lose performance lose efficiency this is a heavy rig the the WalkSnail video system adds six to seven grams and it seems like
[00:05:23] from a lot of the testing that I've done that amount of extra weight an 80 2 is just not a big enough motor it's just not a big enough heat sink and it overheats and when magnets
[00:05:37] overheat they lose efficiency and they lose magnetism so you get less power and less efficiency the other set of Motors that I've tested are these sub 250 803 18,000 19,000 so the same as what's on it
[00:05:58] right 8039 18,000 but these sub 250 motors have a 1 and 1 12 mm motor shaft these Zing 8031 19000s have a 1 mm motor shaft what's interesting about that is with the 1 mm motor shaft I can
[00:06:14] run the HQ ultra light by blades 1.6 in by blades with this 1 and a half millim motor shaft the only propellers well the best propeller option are these GemFan 1610 by blades they are a
[00:06:30] stronger propeller but they are a heavier propeller which that's pretty common and so interesting differences between these two I was not blown away by these sub 250 Motors I
[00:06:44] was I was pretty shocked by these Zing Motors how much power they had I have to look at the motor limiting though I have a funny feeling that this is motor limited to 85% now and when I was flying
[00:06:55] these it was motor limited to 80% so we'll see but the the the AO there is again a working VTX on here and I replaced the AO so the motor testing can continue on this thing you
[00:07:11] got to give me a couple of days for that though but it's going to be worth it we're going to figure this out and have an amazing 75mm WalkSnail freestyle rig that's really what this is
[00:07:25] it is how do you get a durable powerful freestyle rig with WalkSnail that has half decent runtime we went pretty deep down the rabbit hole on 65mm rigs putting WalkSnail on
[00:07:43] board and the long and short of it is that you're going to get two minute run times which is not quite enough for just me as a pilot like I'm just starting to kind of get warmed up at
[00:07:55] that point the other thing that that does is it's really hard on the batteries if you're discharging a battery in 2 minutes that battery is getting hot and batteries don't like to
[00:08:08] get really hot so I I don't recommend that you have a setup that has run times of under two minutes it's hard on the battery it's not going to do you any favors as a pilot and
[00:08:23] it's just sort of a bit much you want like 2 and 1/2 minutes bare minimum realistically you're shooting for 3 minutes to 3 and A2 minutes in my opinion that's sort of like the right
[00:08:33] amount of time where you have enough time to kind of get in the flow as a pilot the batteries are not going to come down boiling hot you're not going to be damaging the batteries by getting
[00:08:42] them so hot and discharging them so hard so there you go we got a bunch of stuff to fly here tonight but we're also going to be starting on the hd0 ao5 build massive shout out to
[00:08:58] Kevin suner hey knows that I sleep until 1 2 o' some days and the morning that the ao5 went up for sale on defiance RC I think he ordered himself a setup the the aiio and the camera and then he
[00:09:16] ordered me one as well and he has my address and just had him shipped here so Kevin thank you so much man super super super cool they finally got here yesterday and so I'm just
[00:09:28] I'm not I I I was very tempted to try to do the build tonight but there was a ton of other [@$#%] kind of clogging up the workbench here and I know that there's a whole bunch of prep work which
[00:09:41] is what we are going to do tonight for this build stupid stuff that's really time consuming such as this is an old school Mobula 6 canopy this is my favorite canopy ever for tiny whoops it
[00:09:54] is super strong it also mounts to all four mounting points which makes the frame stronger and I think prevents the aios from breaking a lot of racers that run camera mounts that are just using
[00:10:11] the front three screw holes they break a lot of aios by like tacoing the aiio when they crash really hard I I've pretty much never had that happen and I crash just as hard as they do I think
[00:10:26] it's because I run these canopies a lot th this can canopy is kind of like boxing in the frame and I think that this makes the a really durable I think it makes the whole rig really durable to
[00:10:39] to be super honest so it's also fairly lightweight so this is the canopy that I'm going to be going with on this build this canopy was designed for the runam Nano 3 which has a tiny
[00:10:51] little lens on it so this front opening there you can see it this front opening is a little bit too small for most normal cameras this is the lightweight hd0 camera and if I try to
[00:11:08] pass this through the opening in the front of this canopy it doesn't clear so I'm going to be sitting here for a little bit tonight with a file filing this front opening bigger this is
[00:11:21] what I do on all of the WalkSnail builds and it works totally fine the canopy does not become fragile or anything it just takes a little bit time like you just have to
[00:11:31] sit here and you don't want to remove too much material so you sit here you file a little bit you check the fit you file a little bit more you check the fit you file a little B more it's just
[00:11:41] and it's just a timec consuming kind of thing I'm going to be reusing a I don't have a fresh one of these I wish I did but we're going to be reusing a newbie drone cockroach V3 frame that
[00:11:55] I've got that's like not totally beat up but it's also not fresh we're going to really stress test this Frame cuz this build is probably going to be 19.8 19.9 20 gram so we've
[00:12:08] got that hold on I didn't get the chat Fusion Catalyst says couldn't you unscrew the lens technically yes but then but the the lens sits where the opening is so also you really don't
[00:12:27] want to unscrew lenses on these tiny little cameras you'll have a really hard time getting it refocused a lot of times you're going to put a lot of stress during that process on the
[00:12:39] connection between the base of the lens and the actual aiio that the camera is on also a lot of times they have glued the lens threads and so to unscrew the lens you have to get in there with
[00:12:52] an xacto knife and basically unscrewing lenses on these little cameras usually lead to a broken camera if if you manage to not break the camera in the process of doing it you wear a
[00:13:05] bunch of stuff down and then you just kill the lifespan of that camera it also opens you up to things like getting dust inside the in between the lens and the and the and the sensor
[00:13:19] there's all kinds of problems with doing it I really don't recommend you do it's I've done it many times over the years and more often than not when I do it that camera does not have
[00:13:31] much of a life left after that and fails in pretty short order we're going to do a super lightweight antenna here just to try to get it down below 20 gram at some point I am going to put a
[00:13:42] micro onto it but I don't have any extras right now so we'll put the absolute lightest weight possible antenna on it this will also stress hd0 out this is a bad antenna setup
[00:13:55] this is a regular whip antenna that I've removed ground plane from by the way I made a bunch of these this only weighs 02 gram I made a bunch of these and they're going to be
[00:14:08] going up on the Etsy Channel the Etsy store lots more stuff is on the Etsy store I'm putting stuff up every couple of days last night I put a ton of new stuff up there there's actually a whole
[00:14:18] bunch of builds up there so check it out I'm going to shill for you guys in a minute so we are going to use this crappy little antenna I'm super interested to see what hd0 does with
[00:14:31] a crappy antenna one of the complaints that I've had in the past when I've run hd0 this was back in the days of like 25 M 50 Ms being the Max on hd0 and one of my complaints was the
[00:14:46] signal strength was not great and then that causes the crazy rainbow breakup which I find the hd0 breakup to be a little bit harder to fly through than regular old analog breakup
[00:15:00] hd0 does have nowadays vtx's that are powerful enough to get around that I'll be super interested to see what it's like what hd0 is like with a terrible antenna and we'll
[00:15:13] really test the limits of the ai5 which is here and I so I officially now have to believe that this is a real thing somehow Happ model and hd0 took two 25x 25 pcbs and combined them into
[00:15:41] one like obviously this was not vaporware and was a real thing because a whole bunch of reviewers had them and flew them and tested them and showed them but
[00:15:55] I I don't know what how what like this is crazy there is so here hold on there is so so so so much going on in this thing I I have never seen an FPV component with this much stuff
[00:16:16] crammed onto it this is wild this is wildly impressive how much is on this one board and I just just assumed that this would be like $150 $200 it's
[00:16:36] $99.99 like how how the the previous hd0 Eco VTX was like $70 by itself when you buy an AO they're like 40 or 50 or 60 or Christ even $100 by themselves how is this
[00:16:56] $999.99 like what what I don't I don't get it I don't understand how any of this has happened HappyModel and hd0 congratulations you have completely blown my tits off I I
[00:17:21] just I I don't I don't get it I don't get it I don't get how they've done this this is a this is proper Innovation like this is this is not like a [@$#%]
[00:17:35] incremental step this is a goddamn leap dve s says but is it durable Ryan quellet checked the hours apparently HD Zer you do a little stick command and it'll tell you
[00:17:50] how many hours you have on your AO he had two of them that he's been running for a while one of them eventually he did kill but both of them had like I want to say like s or 8 hours worth of
[00:18:06] batteries right like think of that that like batteries are like three minutes or so each 3 minutes per battery 8 hours that's 20 20 40 60 80 100 120 140 160 140 to 60 batteries on the
[00:18:30] Prototype ones right not even on the final versions that's pretty good and he showed a bunch of the flying he's flying hard so that that's pretty
[00:18:44] good we'll see everybody crashes different I don't know we'll see we will see the the only way to get any meaningful durability data on anything is to release it out into the wild right for
[00:18:59] hundreds if not thousands of people to smash it into stuff and so one of the things I was worried about like when I was assuming that it was $150 or $200 for the AO was it's probably
[00:19:15] it can't possibly be as durable maybe it can but in theory it can't possibly be as durable as like a 2g4 or a BetaFPV cross right or like any of these aiio that aren't completely crammed full of
[00:19:29] stuff and I was kind of like well I don't love the idea of having everything on one board and having to pay $200 every time it blows up at $99 I guess you could make the argument
[00:19:43] that it's still a worse situation than a $50 AO and then like what's the WalkSnail light cost 80 bucks a separate $80 VTX right the VTX blows up you only replace the VTX but
[00:20:03] like $100 for an AO and a VTX that is CRA that's really good that's a really really really good price and the fact that this build in theory could be under $20 under 20 grams like
[00:20:22] that's just this is just crazy some of the other prep that we have to do is to solder on the motor plugs so that's something that we're going to handle tonight I want to
[00:20:35] have this build like ready to go for I guess Sunday's 3:00 Eastern live stream where we can dive in and just get it done and then I can refigure out how to bind hd0 update hd0 all that
[00:20:56] jazz right so that the the next live stream I want to be getting this thing done and up in the air and flying a bunch of batteries with it in the garage I have another set of HD U
[00:21:15] we bed FPV 0702 40,000 KV Motors those are the motors that I'm going to go with on it I am going to back them off a little bit 40,000 KV is is like funny as hell don't get me wrong but
[00:21:28] it's an awful lot so I'm going to throw like a 90% motor limit on them just to get them under control initially maybe I'll I'll go back up to 100% but we'll see and then I have not I
[00:21:44] have not flown a h like 19 to 20 gram build in a while so I don't know what KV of motor I'm going to end up running on that thing on this build so we're going to try a couple different Motors
[00:22:00] we're going to try the 40,000 the 36,000 and probably even 32,000 to just sort of figure out I it's probably going to stay on 40,000 to be honest but I do want to
[00:22:15] give the the lower KV Motors a chance to because I I I think at 20 gram I think that run times are going to be a little bit limited we'll see maybe not but it's
[00:22:34] also a chance to do a little bit of mythbusting of lower KV Motors are more efficient like I'm so tired of people saying that it's not it's not that it's not that easy like you just you can't make
[00:22:52] that blanket statement because for freestyle it's just not true and I'm going to show that and what a perfect chance to show that with the HD zero rig getting used to it putting some crashes
[00:23:03] through it right flying hd0 for the first time in literally years so that's sort of the main plan for tonight is to prep this over here so that this this rig is like ready to go
[00:23:19] we're also going to like I mentioned earlier we're going to fly a bunch of stuff I have a whole bunch of batteries charged because last night I went over to Patrick hung out with him for
[00:23:29] the first time in like months he bought this amazing house this amazing property I hate the word property but in this case it's the right word the the property I said it again kill me has
[00:23:43] like five or six different buildings on it that were in various states of being and so he's had so much work to do and he's got like amazing plans for each one of these buildings so
[00:23:58] he's been just like crazy busy which is why we haven't been hanging out it was so good to get to hang with him again last night I got a whole bunch it's a great spot to fly so I got a
[00:24:08] whole bunch of stuff ready I charged a ton of tiny whoop batteries a bunch of 5- in batteries a bunch of cine whoop batteries a bunch of grinder Rino and quad mola's F3 siren split batteries
[00:24:22] I was all excited packed up a bunch of tiny boobs put all my [@$#%] and I made the The Unbelievable error of like not when when you have like a process in place I put
[00:24:38] this here I put that there I put my batteries in the bottom of my flight bag stick with that process because when you change that process and you go oh no I'm going to put both of my tiny whoop
[00:24:52] cases in my flight bag so that my flight bag is a little bit lighter and then my battery bag I'll just just grab it and throw it in the car what do you think didn't make it
[00:25:02] into the car so that was a nice reminder of like when I've got a process stick with that process because if I don't I'm going to forget something and it and it's just going to be super annoying
[00:25:19] and so I got there I got all my [@$#%] ready and then I went [@$#%] the battery bag at and I went in the car and it wasn't there I was like I know where it is it's right
[00:25:31] next to the charger you jerk so but I had everything ready I was super excited but it's all right it was it was actually really good like to just hang out and [@$#%] and
[00:25:45] and relax and whatnot so we had a good time last night I might go back on Monday and we're going to do some stuff we're going to Chase some ATVs around and just do some fun stuff so
[00:26:03] tonight I'm going to put the 2S 75mm walks snow rig up in the air see what we can destroy in the house I'm also going to put the can you all it's fine 1S WalkSnail 75 Pro build up in the air that'll
[00:26:27] be a really cool comparison between these two this is actually heavier and it's 1S this is coming out of this Frame I'm going to fly like three or four more batteries on this one or one
[00:26:39] or two inside another few outside probably tomorrow and then it's coming out of this Frame the the WalkSnail setup is six to seven extra grams this meteor 75 Pro frame is is
[00:26:54] another couple grams the bigger propellers don't really weigh anything extra this is just too heavy this is just way too heavy at this point yes it flies Okay
[00:27:06] because of these 45mm byblade props being awesome but the run time is like well under two minutes because of how heavy this thing has gotten we'll we'll we'll weigh it in a little bit
[00:27:18] you'll be blown away this makes less power and has significantly less run time and it's heavier than the 2S build this 2S build does everything better than this so this is silly this needs to
[00:27:29] come out of this Frame and get back into a regular old 75 mil frame so we'll fly both of these tonight that'll be a you will not believe the difference between these two I've
[00:27:43] also got Eva dropped off the worse prototype this is the beta 65 air prototype with a VTX that's kind of struggling but it's been a while since I've flown a 65 air so we're
[00:27:59] going to put this guy up in the air I think I I might need to get this bound but we're going to put it up in the air the 32000 KV rig is back I have installed one of the very cool little
[00:28:12] tiny whoop LED battery leads onto this thing check this outwhen the battery is plugged in there are two nice bright LEDs on the back of the of the the 180° bt2 2.0
[00:28:28] battery lead very very very cool I think this little setup is actually lighter than the the really nice 180 Dee BetaFPV BT 2.0 leads and it's still but it still has good grip
[00:28:47] you can grab it and unplug the battery really easily because of the PCB so I think I'm going to start running these on everything I think I'm going to move away from from these guys as much as
[00:28:57] I love them this is just too cool and you get that extra little LED on the back so this 32,000 KV rig is back and it's actually a little bit lighter weight now I put it into a a
[00:29:09] light AF frame because I noticed that I've finally managed to break another cockroach 75 V3 frame and I broke it in another different spot interestingly enough it
[00:29:25] broke right back here apparently these ducts are just in godamn destructible because for the second time now I've broken one of these frames in like a really weird awkward spot that I've
[00:29:38] never seen a tiny whoop frame break before so it broke right there it's totally flyable like this but I have a bunch of these frames so I figured I'd swap it out these
[00:29:49] cockroach V3 frames are unbelievably durable this Frame this build had like 25 batteries put on it at castle crash hammering it into the the wood everywhere over and over and over and
[00:30:05] over again and I mean this frame has like probably hundreds of batteries around the house here on it incredibly durable the the Cockroach V3 and light AF frames as far as I'm concerned are
[00:30:18] hands down the best tiny whoop frames I know I say there's never a best but they're just phenomenal there are things about him that are not quite as good as some other frames
[00:30:33] but like in terms of durability and lightweight it's just it's just incredible this Frame is is mind-blowingly good but you can eventually break it as with all things in the chat Spaceman
[00:30:50] spiff was first Troy prog was next Zoe 101 Dog with a Blog Cloud Hopper coal pow Tung out FPV Spaceman spiff again Douglas 6 Pepe Walter venard sebb D FPV Frosty Frank Nicholas Walter rock

[00:31:42] balance Titan JP spin s Cole 901 Northern Tier think I got everybody thanks for hanging friends I forgot to show you this this is a let me see actually
[00:31:59] 16.8 G 40,000 KV build 16.8 gam 40,000 KV direct soldered thank you wee bed for sending over another couple sets of the 40,000 KV Motors like a month ago this
[00:32:24] is wait I do this the whole time that's plain double snaps just getting it get you some dance [@$#%] too much too much thank you BetaFPV for sending me over a five in one just just the five in one they
[00:32:57] they they know by this point they know that I'm going to do custom builds with stuff they've actually been really cool with me lately I I'm I I've been very impressed with with BetaFPV
[00:33:08] and they're being very supportive so that's super super super cool and much appreciated I was just reminded of something though that I used the I used the the air
[00:33:24] 65 this is basically like an ultim air 65 in a way and I'm using the air 65 gram string canopy thing and it puts a lot of pressure on the front and rear mainly the rear mounting Post in
[00:33:43] the frame and I have a way of really helping that they're the Mobula 7 at one point ran these much longer screws and I have some extras and so whenever you have the the the the what
[00:34:02] you're looking for is if you've got one of these posts see that rear post see how it's tilted this this g string canopy is trying to break that off right now I
[00:34:16] don't want that that to break off look at the front one in comparison see how much more vertical it is also think about when you crash inverted think about what's happening here this get
[00:34:27] gets pushed down and it's trying to break those off it's trying to break that front and that rear post off actually it helps the rear post a little bit but still I'm going to put a
[00:34:40] longer screw in the back here and that tends to help a ton so let me do that real quick before I sort of forget but this is the the BetaFPV 5 and one I finally get to try try one
[00:34:53] out and I figured what the hell I I've not usually when I do the lighter weight builds I'll put lower KV motors on them because they don't need the crazy KV Motors but what's better
[00:35:07] than a little clickbait's not clickbait because it's actually insane what's better than an insane build for getting getting new people excited and or you guys excited so I
[00:35:17] figured let's let's just build something silly and this is certainly going I have not flown this yet I've not bound this I've not plugged this into BetaFlight I was up until 6:00 AM last
[00:35:30] night just getting stuff done and this is one of the things that I got done I was very tempted to do this build on a live stream but I think it'll be way more fun to fly a whole bunch of
[00:35:43] batteries through it on a live stream and just kind of talk about it's not a very confusing build but so the there will be a stream maybe Monday night maybe
[00:35:58] Monday night ultimate air 65 or something CiottiFPV ultimate air 65 and we're going to talk about this and probably change some things I I've got the the crappy antenna on it
[00:36:12] maybe by then I'll have an extra ort mini V also I switched the camera out this this canopy can pretty much accept any camera because of the way that it clamps onto the camera lens but
[00:36:28] I figured I would keep this all BetaFPV it seems like the older BetaFPV camera which is the M3 I'm pretty sure it might be2 but I'm pretty sure it's M3 I feel like I've heard a whole bunch
[00:36:43] of people talking about previously talking about the that old3 camera being like the best of the of the tiny whoop cameras and for some weird reason I had one of those cameras so I said you
[00:36:56] know what to hell with it we we've already well [@$#%] I've got the CO3 on here right the regular old air 65 let's do this one with the3 camera maybe it's a little bit better we'll get to
[00:37:09] head to-head it we we'll get to see what the CO3 camera looks like on this one and what the mo3 looks like on this one so that should be super super fun this is also one of the hand the
[00:37:20] most handsome builds that that I've ever done it's got the it's got the CiottiFPV logo colors all over the damn place right white frame the white g string canopy and then the red Motors
[00:37:33] and props the other reason that I'm going to I I am going to motor limit this one down as well because of these Tri blades I put these Tri blades on there because they're red and I wanted
[00:37:43] to take some pictures of it it'll probably end up on the by blades at some point here because 40,000 KV but for these Tri blades I am going to motor limit's down a little bit because
[00:37:56] that's just silly 40,000 KV is just outrageous regardless of the propellers with a triblade it's just absolute banana pants so this thing should be super fun I I don't think we're going to
[00:38:11] fly it tonight because I have so much other stuff to do but we sneak peek for you of what's coming up 16.8 gram 40,000 KV do I need to say anything more than that for you to get excited you better
[00:38:31] be excited Kevin J thank you so much for the $20 Super Chat brother he says hello and happy Friday PS your hair is looking great as always thank you brother thank you super generous it's
[00:38:43] stuff like this that allows me to keep doing this fulltime and I would not be able to just work on all this stuff until 6:00 a.m. if I had a a non FPV job so thank you guys
[00:38:57] guys so much the the fact that you all support me is the only reason that I can do as much as I do and do as good of a job at it so that I can test more stuff find more weird
[00:39:12] Parts on just one website that work really well find that magical combo of parts that works really well right like the the Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoop is a perfect
[00:39:21] example of this like I probably have two three four 400 I don't know hours into that setup and I did most of that testing when I was doing this fulltime we might just now be getting to that
[00:39:39] magical formula if if I was trying to juggle that with a 40-hour week project management job or whatever so thank you guys it's pretty amazing what you have all what we have all done
[00:39:50] together right like this has been a big ass Community project from the start so it's really cool Kevin J with another $20 Super Chat holy hell brother he says streats for Teddy very cool let's get
[00:40:03] that going thank you brother Teddy thanks you as well speaking of Teddy where is that little bastard I have to keep hold on I actually have to close this
[00:40:19] door I'll tell you why in a second I finally so I had to I I today was my day to get aelia up for high school which is one of the reasons I stayed up until 6: a.m.
[00:40:37] working on stuff got her took care of that got into bed 6:30ish went to sleep got woken up by sage and Maggie talking in the kitchen which is like right down the hall from our bedroom and
[00:40:59] what I hear is I couldn't hear the whole conversation but I hear like goddamn dog and can't believe and then and then I hear ate my gordita Sage Works a Taco Bell
[00:41:17] and so we've now got a we've got a dog running thus my closing the door we've got a dog with a [@$#%] gordita in his stomach right now and I know that is going to come out like a [@$#%]
[00:41:29] chocolate milkshake and so his little ass is just straight up not allowed down here because I have a feeling it's there's going to be milkshake in the house tonight so when I go to fly I'm
[00:41:41] going to probably crack the oh no I don't think I don't know I don't know what I'm going to do but there's a ticking Time Bomb running around this house right now and Maggie's not home so
[00:41:52] it's I'm scared Kevin J thank you so much dude super super super generous and then ver balance with a 5B Super Chat he says today a small theme park owner asked me
[00:42:05] if I can do a small video for him I never did that so no idea how much to charge what do you say that's tough I I don't know where you're at as a pilot ver
[00:42:23] balance here's what I'll tell you a bunch of us that have been flying professionally for many years talk on Facebook messenger and a long time ago we all kind of decided look let's not
[00:42:41] have a race to the bottom between us at least there has certainly been a race to the bottom and there are tons of Pilots doing FPV work for practically no money and it is really [@$#%] things up for
[00:42:52] the rest of us but that welcome to America but what we decided basically is that day rates are going to be no are never going to go below a thousand and those of us that actually care
[00:43:12] about not creating a race to the bottom and care about each other being able to actually do this full-time have stuck to that most of the guys also will not do hourly work I do I
[00:43:27] can't book enough gigs that are big enough to get day rate all the time a lot of the g a lot of the opportunities that I get are much smaller projects and so I chose which is sort of an unpopular
[00:43:43] choice but this is we didn't like say like nobody ever do it or you're out of the collective or whatever I do d i do hourly stuff but I don't do anything for less than it depends on who
[00:44:00] it is but like 4 to 500 there is a ton of setup involved in this right like you're going to spend probably about two hours charging batteries double-checking everything for the record you need to be
[00:44:13] double-checking everything like you do not go to a gig with something that you haven't flown in a month like everything should be tested before every single gig as far as I'm concern as far as I'm
[00:44:24] concerned and if there's any weirdness at all like you got to deal with that [@$#%] right like that's where you need to find that weirdness because you just don't remember a lot of
[00:44:35] times like ideally every single time you fly any one of these quads if it does anything weird while it's flying you make a note of that and you fix it when you get home realistically that just
[00:44:49] sort of doesn't happen and you come home there's a million things going on or you're in a huge rush to get the footage to the client and so you're you're like ah I'll just put it on the
[00:44:58] shelf and I'll fix the problem tomorrow and then it's and then it slips your mind and you don't fix the problem so as far as I'm concerned everything needs to go up in the air for at least one or two
[00:45:07] batteries before every single gig and that takes time so roughly you're going to spend about 2 to three hours before you even leave the door then you've got travel time to end from
[00:45:22] you've got like your first hour of flying and then you'll you'll in my opinion you want to charge another set amount 100 bucks 150 200 bucks 50 bucks whatever for each additional hour of
[00:45:36] flying and then when you leave you've got a whole bunch more [@$#%] to do you got to discharge all those batteries you got to deal with all the footage you got to run it through stabilization
[00:45:47] software you got to upload it to a website you got to deal with more messaging between you and the client so it is it ends up being very very very time assuming and FPV is an
[00:46:01] incredibly specialized thing and you should charge accordingly so that's what I can tell you you're going to charge what you're going to charge but the the the less you
[00:46:14] charge the more you hurt the those of us that are doing it for for like full-time work so do keep that in mind and also this is an extreme ex like skilled extremely time in time intensive
[00:46:34] thing like you have spent hundreds of hours to get to where you're at charge accordingly your time is worth a lot more and that's you're charging for all that
[00:46:50] time right like going to Taco Bell and spending one day learning how to run the register and then running the register for seven bucks an hour that's fine you've got like no time
[00:47:05] invested right FPV is not that FPV you've got right it's skilled labor you've got hundreds if not thousands of hours invested and if you don't charge for that you're you're hurting
[00:47:19] yourself the problem is some clients don't have the budget for that and so it's really difficult especially because flying is fun and flying gigs is very fun so it's super difficult
[00:47:33] for me to answer that question but what I can tell you is that if you charge less than like the numbers that I'm telling you and I am on the low end of that stuff there are like the
[00:47:46] bigger FPV Pilots are charging two and three and four grand day rate so I am certainly on the low end but I'm sure that most most of you hear those numbers and go holy [@$#%] that's a lot of money
[00:48:00] it is it is a lot of money but I've got thousands of hours tied up into this if not like tens of thousands of hours tied up into this right over the last eight years and I'm a guy that can do this
[00:48:12] safer than pretty much anybody else other than those sort of top guys so my rates are actually a bargain good luck trying to make clients understand that right they either get
[00:48:25] it or they don't and unfortunately more often than not the smaller clients don't get it and you'll lose jobs over that but what and but that's okay a client that does not have the
[00:48:40] budget for FPV a lot of times is a client that's going to be a nightmare and or they're not going to understand it's just not a great situation and they're going to be a pain in the ass
[00:48:55] and you're going to you're going to the clients that you that you charge less money for because they have less money they end up taking more time the clients that you hit them with your day rate and
[00:49:05] they're like cool let's do it you go to those gigs they know what it is you have a blast you get the hell out of there you send them the footage they love it and that's it you spend much less time
[00:49:17] with the higher paying clients like way more often than like 50% of the time so keep all that in mind and when when you have somebody say like no that's too much money you should almost
[00:49:31] thank them because a lot of times they're going to be a [@$#%] nightmare and it and it's makes it like not even worth it because like you're sitting there like well [@$#%] you I gave
[00:49:40] you a goddamn discount and now you're being a prick it's like and now you're pissed and they're pissed because they're just an angry person right get it so there you
[00:49:51] go thank you for the Super Chat all right let me get caught what this is my full-time job my friends I need all of your help as you have been helping me to keep on doing this
[00:50:02] fulltime head on over to Ciotti fv.com and click some buttons some of the buttons are free to click like all these affiliate links when you click an affiliate link it puts in this case my
[00:50:12] code into your shopping cart and then when you check out when you buy the [@$#%] in that shopping cart there's a small percentage of that that gets kicked back to me so literally if you come in here
[00:50:24] and you just click all of these buttons my code will get dropped into all of these shopping carts for you and then you won't even have to think about clicking the affiliate link before you
[00:50:35] check out the problem is going to be these shopping carts empty out some of them it stays in there some of them empty out so it's not a guaranteed thing if you want to support me for free
[00:50:45] the easiest possible thing for you to do is to copy all of these links here and change your bookmarks for these websites to be my affiliate link if you don't use bookmarks and you're like me and
[00:50:59] when you want to go to Amazon you click the URL bar and type AMA for Amazon it's going to make a suggestion off on the right side of that suggestion or on some browsers you have to rightclick the
[00:51:10] suggestion there's an option to remove that current suggestion for just regular old like amazon.com remove all of the amazon.com suggestions when you type AMA and then come in here and click this
[00:51:24] Amazon affiliate link a few times in a row that's going to tell your browserI love this link and then when you type in ama it's going to suggest this Amazon link and then you can do that with all
[00:51:35] of these and then you don't even have to think about it you're using someone's affiliate links every single time you go to these websites regardless of whether you use bookmarks or whether you just
[00:51:44] use the URL bar and that's going to support someone totally free of charge to do more work buy more stuff test more stuff and help you save more money because inevitably I find things like
[00:51:57] the hglrc Spectre AO that's a giant lump of [@$#%] that you don't want to buy and if you were GNA buy that thing I just saved you $80 and so hook a brother up I think
[00:52:08] it's 80 bucks maybe it's 70 I'm not sure but that's a perfect example the more stuff that I can buy and test the more garbage I can find to save you guys money it's a nice little self-sustaining
[00:52:20] ecosystem in that way so please use someone's affiliate links other content creators are are doing the same thing they're making content for you to watch for free here on YouTube use
[00:52:32] someone's affiliate links most websites have affiliate programs so before you check out on a website think about people making stuff for you to watch here on YouTube streaming schedule is
[00:52:41] here it's probably wrong yep Monday night still says 10 o'cl I need to fix that patreon if you have a couple of extra dollars patreon is going to get you all kinds of fun stuff access to our
[00:52:53] community over on Discord a whole bunch of unlisted stuff on YouTube that you're definitely going to dig couple of different Facebook groups and if you get on the right tier it's
[00:53:04] even going to enter you into giveaways that I do the first Monday of every month so lots of cool stuff going on on patreon you can jump on for as little as $3 a month that's 10 cents a day FPV is
[00:53:15] not an expensive hobby it's also not a cheap hobby so you probably have 10 extra cents a day if you're into this hobby jumping onto the patreon same kind of deal you're going to support
[00:53:26] support me helping you not buy garbage or buy good stuff so that you buy the best of X Y or z so again it's going to come back to you the couple of dollars that you throw my way especially
[00:53:38] if you jump on the $5 or up tiers where you're going to get entered into giveaways eventually when you win a giveaway you're going to win like 50 60 70 $80 worth of stuff that's going to
[00:53:47] cover your patreon for many many many many many many months so do it help a brother out Fiverr if you want to work together with me if you really want to learn a lot fast
[00:53:56] we can schedule a one-on-one session for a half an hour or an hour there are discounts if you want to do like a weekly session and really learn stuff or bi-weekly so if you really want
[00:54:07] to get good at flying building tuning anything take advantage of somebody with over eight years of experience that's willing to distill that all down and give it to you in a one-on-one thing
[00:54:18] I try to jump it dump it all into these live streams but then you've got to watch 10 20 30 40 50 hours to try to get all that stuff out of these live streams we can do it in a one-on-one session in
[00:54:28] a half an hour or an hour and you can get tons of info and save lots of money by not buying garbage and or just knowing what you're doing Etsy has a ton of new stuff I've been putting
[00:54:40] all kinds of new things up here now I've got a whole bunch of straight up Builds on here tuned DX tiny Hawk 2 tuned and upgraded meteor 75 Pro tiny Hawk 3 Pro here's that really cool little
[00:54:53] charger cell Checker BT 2.0 cell Checker and charger allinone in a tiny little Jib Jab newbie drone 03 conversion kit for some strange reason I have three of these BetaFPV 1103 11,000 for the
[00:55:10] love of God if you or anyone has a rig with these motors buy these three for extra motors for yourself here's the little BetaFPV dongly thing for the boards that don't have the
[00:55:21] USB ports old school HappyModel 802 20,000 KV not 19,000 20,000 and all kinds of other really cool stuff RC and power wasp Majors that are fresh brand new access flying HD box lots and
[00:55:36] lots and lots of good stuff going on here on Etsy buy a couple of stickers that's how you can really support me lots of good stuff and I've got like a whole coffee table worth of
[00:55:48] stuff that I still need to take pictures of and list so get on my Etsy store lots of cool stuff already on there and lots more stuff coming and then Teespring has some really fun shirts and
[00:56:01] whatnot this is not one of mine This is actually an old school Super Deluxe shirt FPV Army shout out to Super Deluxe love that guy so there you go friends that's how you support
[00:56:11] me Rock in the chat if you want to talk directly to me type CiottiFPV no spaces or do a super chat rock crawler tagged me and said Zoe 101 dog with the blog says I swear in those
[00:56:25] bouts of mania it feels like you're superum sometimes it does indeed boy if we could only if we could only stay if I could only stay in Mania all the time although it's just wouldn't work
[00:56:36] like that I would burn out and explode it's very difficult to find things that are good about major depressive disorder but admittedly with enough talk therapy you will realize
[00:56:55] that without the depression you would burn out on stuff much faster and you would phys your body would physically burn out depression is there as a release valve of like dude
[00:57:12] take it easy like you'll you'll tend to notice that that people with depression are usually people that don't know how to stop they get into stuff and they just go and go and go and go and go
[00:57:29] and when you're 23 years old you can do that when you're 43 years old you can't do that your your brain doesn't have it in it your body doesn't have it in it's just doesn't work
[00:57:43] like that and so the swings of depression are incredibly difficult to deal with there's a specific type of impression that where it's really nasty which I luckily do not have
[00:58:04] and but most depression has these Peaks and valleys and when you're Jamie Anne described it perfectly at one point and she we we were talking about it and she's like I'm
[00:58:22] I'm really fun to be around when I'm in Mania and I was like that's it that is pretty much it right there like you are the most fun person to be around when you're in
[00:58:35] those periods but unfortunately you can't be forever so one of the one of the things that one of the things that you you those are that that's something that it takes a lot of
[00:58:48] awareness to kind of and a lot of it's tough to face up to that and to real realize that and try to become okay with it because like you get a lot done and you you feel great when
[00:59:03] you're when you're in those periods of mania it's very difficult to have to be in those periods but this is the lifelong thing with mental illness is that you have to
[00:59:18] like stop you have to stop yourself and just like stop working and go and just lay down and just watch TV and do other things that you enjoy that are not so stressful it's very hard it's
[00:59:32] very very hard but welcome to life life is is very hard in many many ways Walter says you're enlightened like said Guru no I'm very far from Enlightenment Fusion Catalyst says
[00:59:52] couldn't you unscrew the lens we talked about that we bed says egly gang happy Friday Dexter says Rubicon versus Panasonic capacitor the Panasonic lowr black and Golds are technically the best but
[01:00:04] those rubons are usually fine as well Kevin J thank you again for the two super generous super chats Fusion Catalyst says SPI elrs is a big thing all of elrs is a big thing Cole
[01:00:18] power says just don't put it in the dog bowl or or down the SN drain on the first battery I will try my best ebod says why are you putting motor plugs on it because I do a lot of testing and
[01:00:29] trying to test things with direct soldered Motors like just hit your penis with a hammer and that's the same experience and I learned to not hit's with a
[01:00:42] hammer it hurts it leaves a Mark it's terrible FR loo says I have small dogs that have gotten into Taco Bell and it thankfully wasn't a total chocolate milk milk but still OFA indeed Cloud Hopper
[01:00:59] with a $10 Super Chat he says Teddy mess cleanup fund thank you dude oh [@$#%] Kevin J says LOL walk that [Laughter] dog Dexter said we've been letting him out over and over and over again I'm
[01:01:15] now going backwards through the chat because I scrolled down too much Dexter says and what do you think about kiss Ultra Mini V2 all of the kiss stuff is extremely expensive it is the build
[01:01:29] quality is a little bit better kiss Ultra is admittedly way better than the old school kiss but it will never catch up with BetaFlight betaflight has way too big of a head start and it
[01:01:42] has way too many developers working on it there's this like mysticism to kiss because of one or two pilots that fly it but the cold hard fact is that kiss will will never
[01:01:56] catch up with BetaFlight never has never will BetaFlight from 2 three years ago flew great that's basically what kiss is K kiss kiss Ultra it's just BetaFlight like with a few less years of
[01:02:12] development and so it flies totally fine BetaFlight flew totally fine two three years ago kiss kiss Ultra flies totally fine not as good as betta flight you can make BetaFlight fly just like
[01:02:27] Kiss by turning off a lot of the things that they've developed over the last couple of years and by adding a bunch of extra latency in there that gives you the exact same experience with kiss so
[01:02:39] for me I will buy less expensive components and run them on better firmware and I actually do add in a bunch of latency I add in a bunch of smoothing and that makes my betaf
[01:02:51] flight rigs actually fly very similar to kiss and kiss Ultra rigs this has been proven time and time again from multiple people with blackbox logs the data does not lie I don't care how
[01:03:02] many Pilots say that kiss feels better it's absolute an utter nonsense the feel is latency and or like what the flight footage looks like and what you're seeing when you're flying and that like
[01:03:17] good feeling like I've also heard it talked about as smoothness now we're talking right latency stick smoothing right it's is always hysterical to me to hear kiss Pilots talk about
[01:03:34] that because it's they say that it feels smoother and then in the same breath they'll say that it feels like it has lower latency and it just doesn't it's just and it's just like insane to me and
[01:03:50] like they're not bad Pilots because of it's just a perfect example of how unbelievably strong the placebo is in FPV we are flying these things that we're not in so we have no GeForce we
[01:04:03] only have our eyes and a little bit of audio feedback and that makes it damn near impossible to like tell the difference between certain components tell the difference between like changes that you
[01:04:17] make tell the difference between latency and delay and stick smoothing and stuff and so it makes total sense and also with kiss gear you've paid a bunch more money for it so that
[01:04:33] Placebo is even stronger because you just paid all this extra money for it and you moved over from BetaFlight and your brain is like this [@$#%] better fly better and then you start flying it
[01:04:44] and go figure you think it flies better of course you do because your brain is likeif this doesn't fly better then I'm an idiot and I wasted a whole bunch of money go figure
[01:04:56] your brain is going to make it seem like it flies better what's really funny is a lot of those kiss Pilots will eventually go back to BetaFlight and go Oh They'll they'll get the benefits of
[01:05:10] actual lower latency hopefully they will realize that there are a bunch of different ways that you can put that stick smoothing into BetaFlight to get the footage looking less jittery and
[01:05:20] and less on edge exactly mirroring your your stick input if you don't have the most smooth fingers in the universe which most people don't so there there you
[01:05:32] go there's my kiss rant all that being said if not if flying the gear that potentially your favorite pilot flies that could give you a sense of confidence that does actually make you
[01:05:54] fly better right welcome to psychology our brain is a is a really interesting thing so sure but I've never heard anyone call that out never ever it's always oh this is
[01:06:09] definitely better oh this definitely has lower latency pull up any of the blackbox logs that people have head-to-head Kiss versus BetaFlight it never has and probably never will have lower latency
[01:06:26] it just doesn't it's just a fact data doesn't lie so there you go dexra says why are you only using three screws on the qav Pro 2 and a half inch Motors save a
[01:06:39] little bit of weight those rigs are that rig is all about efficiency and you don't need the fourth screw on Bashers I'll run four screws on the motors but everything else I'll leave a
[01:06:52] screw off Brandon M Bean says you mean Co one or CO2 I forget to be totally honest but the the new the new beta 65 Air camera is CO3 and I don't love it I have this
[01:07:13] older BetaFPV camera that is not as tall and I thought it was mo2 maybe it's CO2 I think maybe m is the designation for their VTX I don't know it's the older BetaFPV camera we'll compare it
[01:07:28] and see what's what I don't know if we'll have time to do that tonight though we'll see Titan says opinion on the crown frame it's okay it's a lightweight version of the old school meteor 65
[01:07:45] Frame which is a an amazing frame my experience with the crown frame is that it's a great weight but it's I'm not going to call it fragile but it's not as durable as the Cockroach V3 the
[01:08:03] light AF it's not quite as light or as durable as the Cockroach V3 it's probably about the same durability as the light AF but it's nowhere near as light the light the light AF is crazy lightweight
[01:08:19] and so I I I don't run them because the Cockroach frames are just unbelievably good but it's a totally fine frame it's probably like third or fourth best frame that's
[01:08:32] out there and so if you want to support wee bed it's a great flame frame it comes in great colors absolutely nothing wrong with it's just the Cockroach frames are wildly
[01:08:42] wildly lightweight wildly durable just insane thank you again Cloud hopper for the teddy mess cleanup fund F said no we got that Super Deluxe is in the house he says nice shirt gang
[01:08:58] gang good to have you here brother you streaming at seven nine rather Dexter says are you familiar with ddg Dutch drone gods and their frames I'm familiar with those guys not really
[01:09:10] their frames though but the guys are awesome fuu panda foa panda sorry says is it worth the extra money to get the foxy Reaper Nano over the HappyModel ovx 300 I have no experience with the foxier
[01:09:25] Reaper Nano I do have experience with the HappyModel OBX 300 and it's totally fine the the the thing I don't like about the ovx 300 is that it does not have voltage and ground out to
[01:09:41] run a camera from and so you got to make sure that your aiio has a set of pads to power your VTX and then another set of pads to power your camera or else you're going to have to solder wires on top of
[01:09:56] each other which is just annoying as hell some of the other little tiny vtx's like the pro32 Nano as much as I try to get away from TBS the pro 32 Nano has a set of pads to power your
[01:10:12] camera from which just makes the install a lot easier so the the HappyModel ovx 300 it performs totally fine but it's the install is potentially a little bit more difficult outset FPV
[01:10:25] says I was told to tell you to get it together or you'll be banned from your own chat again what what does that mean hopefully who would say that no I don't know who would say that
[01:10:37] what Walter says confusious said the saddest people are the funniest it's a lot of a lot of depressed often too but I think I'm funny but I'm not so sure you are Walter you're
[01:10:50] plenty funny Dexter says ddg claims that 1204 to 1206 s are better for cinematic shots on 2 and half inch cine whoops plus HQ 2.5x 2x3 work better than aor 2540 but it's a bit slower
[01:11:05] but less vibrations interesting those guys certainly know what they're doing 2.5 by two by3 which props are those HQ which one are they oh those ones okay these are very low
[01:11:30] pitch that two Ines of pitch is is very very low so you're going to need a lot of RPM to get any actual power out of these I have had absolutely no problems with vibrations
[01:11:43] from the Azor 2540s which are I think those are the most efficient of all the 2 and 1 half in props and they're not going to make nearly I've never had any problems with the most powerful 2 and a
[01:12:00] half inch props which are the Christ I forget how it goes now but the aor 2540s are awesome the GemFan 2540s are awesome as well and then there's an emac the emac rush
[01:12:20] 2.5 inch prop is also great all three of those propellers make significant more power than those hqs and I have not had any problems with vibrations on any of them so but it depends on the
[01:12:35] frame I have these in box frames which are unbelievably sturdy because it's boxed in on a regular frame with an arm just with an arm that's connected here and
[01:12:47] then the arm is just hanging out in the world where it can vibrate and move all over the place having a better balanced propeller becomes more important in that scenario so maybe on
[01:12:57] their frame they're running into that as an issue I don't know but those HQ props don't have enough pitch for what I'm trying to do so Martin tanley says any love for the
[01:13:09] Lux what's the luxs Martin ebod says why do you try to get away from TBS their stuff is just getting old like they they haven't really innovated in in a long time
[01:13:28] there are better control links there are better most of there are better options than most of their stuff I also don't appreciate how trappy has treated Joshua Bardwell in the past to
[01:13:39] be totally honest I the guy seems like a dick and he's acted like a dick publicly on many occasions and so I don't support people that act like [@$#%] especially towards other
[01:13:56] human beings right like you can act like an [@$#%] if it doesn't affect other human beings for no reason right but when you act like an [@$#%] and it negatively affects other people that
[01:14:06] don't deserve to be treated like an [@$#%] like that's a big problem for me and so couple different reasons am I caught up on chat holy crap I'm caught up on chat look at me
[01:14:21] go all right friends let's let's do some stuff let's the there are a million batteries here that are charged and it is bad to leave batteries charged so let's fly a bunch of these
[01:14:36] down this is the 1S WalkSnail build I don't like it in this Frame but I I do want to put a couple more batteries through it in this Frame before I take it out of this Frame
[01:14:52] forever so we might as well put one through it inside the house for you all to watch live although I'm just realizing that this is a WalkSnail rig so I'm going to have
[01:15:06] to take another second here to get the WalkSnail setup for the live stream plugged in and figured out so hang on that's that it's not too bad but it just takes a second all right got that
[01:15:28] we have to power these up I got to BR this cable up here let's move that out of the way there okay cable comes up two goggles and then I got to figure something out
[01:15:44] in OBS real quick all right so we are plugged in put a transmitter on my lap as well let's come over here and we are going to turn on the there we
[01:16:04] go HD VTX all right cool that should be good this should pop up in a second all right so this is a BetaFPV cross aiio with WalkSnail light and BetaFPV 1102 22,000 KV
[01:16:24] Motors the new HQ 45mm byblade props that's it that's the build Mobula 6 canopy opened up for the camera you might get some dropouts here or there be as patient as you possibly can
[01:16:41] it should come back quick it's this cable this cable the the the USB part of this cable is into the goggles is is not great and so if it drops out it should reconnect
[01:17:00] pretty quick here we go big fat WalkSnail rig big fat WalkSnail 1S rig wow it is a jittery mess right now what is happening hold on whoa what is it
[01:17:20] doing whoa all right so there's there's some weirdness on the yaw axis I did not notice this when I was flying it outside I just got rejected hard from this gate over
[01:17:44] here oh boy hover point is high on this this is such a heavy rig man my God we can still do things with it though the these motors these motors are really good
[01:18:06] these BetaFPV 1102 2200s are phenomenal Motors they barely weigh any more than the the 102 Motors that are out there and somehow they're more efficient than most of the 102 Motors
[01:18:25] they are they are something special and with these 45 mm props they really work well on the smaller 1.6 in props on the 40 mm propellers they're not a quite as good th those
[01:18:45] props don't really take advantage of how big the the stator of the motor is this thing is hard to fly so there's the main problem with this heavy ass frame setup even though the propellers are bigger
[01:19:07] this Frame is so much heavier that you end up losing runtime yes you gain a little bit of power but you also gain a bunch of weight you probably make a little bit more power than the weight
[01:19:21] gain so it's is a setup that maybe has a little bit better of a power to weight ratio but still it's the runtime that's the problem with this thing I'm going to open that door and blast
[01:19:34] this thing around upstairs I'm hoping that I just dropped as soon as I took them off my head the connection got lost there hold on I'm just going to keep this door open
[01:19:52] while we're flying here I think oh man it did not come back up what are these goggles doing can you please work goggles please I can't believe I'm GNA have to find a
[01:20:07] fourth long USB to USBC to HDMI cable for these goddamn goggles this the same it's just the same thing keeps happening like after plugging and unplugging the cable into
[01:20:21] the goggles a bunch of times the the USBC starts to disconnect like this when I move my head around so I got to be like super still all right here we go another quick battery we're going to go
[01:20:31] upstairs though let's do it let's get up there while the battery is still fresh that's kind of the other thing the the this heavy of a rig really hammers on these batteries
[01:20:55] and so you get like you get like 30 seconds of good power and then the rest of the battery it's like noticeably saggy I don't think Maggie's home and there's this weird Jitter thing
[01:21:09] going on that's kind of new it's not oh God it's so hard to do that with something this big that Jitter thing is new I don't know what's going on there man it is hard like in here I got
[01:21:26] to really push it around to keep it from washing out and it is yellow upstairs ah I caught it oh that one hurt where's the dog where is he is he in aelia's room
[01:22:07] maybe I'm gonna is that him there that's him there oh boy that was sketchy on that one he's waiting poor Dogg he's waiting for a zelia to play with with them there you go
[01:22:31] yo and I could push this battery a little bit farther but I really like to come in and park it when the battery is at 3.5 volts when you dead hover that's always my
[01:22:44] that's like the the best way to make your batteries lasts a lot longer is to not run them like way way way down these are 450mah batteries too and with the 300mah tiny W
[01:22:59] batteries it's kind of like well they're they're not going to last anyway so screw it run them down to the point where it falls out of the air 450s are not a 450mah battery will
[01:23:10] last a while if you if you treat it well so in my opinion treat it well but we could technically run this battery down even farther and get over the two-minute Mark but no I
[01:23:22] mean it's already coming off like pretty hot like this is this is a little too hot but I don't know the th this is the the 75 Pro setup is great on analog but with the extra weight of the walks
[01:23:39] snail like this this whole thing is just such a fat bastard look at this wait till you see how heavy this is we're going to weigh a bunch of different rigs real
[01:23:50] quick so kill transmitter too while I'm at it 40,000 KV ultimate air 65 16.9 gram actual air 65 prototype I should say 17.2 grams Ultimate Freestyle tiny whoop but in the light AF frame I actually
[01:24:21] haven't weighed this yet 18.1 gram the 2g4 is a heavy AO it's why it's so durable this fat [@$#%] that we were just flying oh God 35 a half grams the 2S 75mm rig that does
[01:24:44] everything better than that 34.2 gram so this is this this meteor 75 Pro frame is just not it's not the one it's not the one for a WalkSnail rig for an for an analog rig it's very fun these
[01:25:06] propellers on these motors in this frame on a lighter analog build is awesome that that meteor 75 Pro that's on my Etsy store first of all if you want to see how it flies I put an a castle
[01:25:20] crash edit up a couple days ago with it if you haven't seen that yet come on now at least watch my edits they're only a couple minutes long oh no that a it that's not what we
[01:25:35] want look I've put content up on YouTube every single day for the last week what do you think of that here it is BetaFPV meteor 75 Pro rips castle crash like this thing rails that's slow motion
[01:25:54] look at this thing move around you can buy this exact rig it's on my Etsy store right now the tune the props everything it's all on there look at this thing Boogie ready first of all look at the
[01:26:05] response time look how sharp it is right that's cuz these props are nice and light weight but like look at that sharpness from a 45mm propped rig right and then look at this speed
[01:26:21] look at this thing pickup speed ready y it ju the acceleration is just outrageous look at it man look at it just boogieing so there you go go watch that edit or
[01:26:38] else cool I'm GNA fly a couple of batteries outside tomorrow and that's it waler says he left because of the yellow flever that's hanging what does that mean yellow flever the
[01:26:57] tanging what's the yellow flever the tanging 2S 2s 75 with these iflight hold on hold on hold on I want to put this into BetaFlight real quick and take a look
[01:27:19] at the motor limiting I'll just do it in the OSD I'll do it in the ostd it'll be fine all right 2S in the house what could possibly go wrong everything oh you're
[01:27:39] right all the things there we go this is on Zing old school Motors Zing 0803 19,000 KV Motors and I'm going to check the I'm going to check to see what the motor limiting is before I take
[01:28:00] off 19,000 KV on 2S is a bit too much but motor limiting is the greatest thing ever and you should be using it okay here we go let's see here all right soon as I have video I'm going
[01:28:29] to get into the OSD and start farting around actually I'm gonna hit them switches for the OSD right now so the OSD is up no I can actually do it while I'm looking at OBS oh I
[01:28:42] got to update the this is now a new VTX I got to update it all right so here we go profile [@$#%] sake we go profile I believe it's in miscellaneous PP it sure isn't I think it's on the
[01:29:01] next screen there it is motor out limit I knew it was 85% let's just actually let's bring it all the way down to 75% save an exit all right here we go 2S WalkSnail
[01:29:18] rig on Zing 803 19,000 limited down to 75% and this is on the HQ ultra light by blades 1 mm motor shaft see the difference this rig has also had practically no tuning that other rig
[01:29:44] has been tuned quite a bit oh [@$#%] it is a freestyle rig I I try really hard not to crash this thing there's a chance that the battery is dangling no we're good if you
[01:29:58] wiggle a rig back and forth like this and it's still sharp the battery is probably not dangling the next thing you can do is pump the throttle and as long as it doesn't like
[01:30:08] drop its ass or drop its nose then the battery is still somewhat in the middle of the frame let me make sure you guys still have video you do all right cool
[01:30:28] OHA boy I'm also trying to not beat the [@$#%] out of these motors while I'm still testing them [@$#%] things are not going well for these poor Motors the the yaw
[01:30:48] performance there is unbelievable on these motors woo listen to this thing it's chaos no I hit the cowbell no no no no no no let me out oh boy that was not a good
[01:31:26] sound hopefully it's not on fire maybe that was just the prop coming off nope that might have also been a motor shaft slipping let's take a look yep back
[01:31:46] left oh back left is upset what are you upset about little buddy are you slipping motor shaft no what's it doing that for that is a weird sound all right let's go into Turtle
[01:32:13] mode and fire that left rear motor up whoa oh boy I think it's going to catch on fire oh boy well either the motor has cooked or the ESC has
[01:32:44] cooked oh my God this is the most unreliable rig I think I've ever built oh my god well oh my God hold on let me take a look at the windings through the top of the Bell might be able
[01:33:13] to figure out what's going on with a quick visual that squeaking noise is very weird you can usually tell if it's a slipped motor shaft by pinching the motor Bell and then just try to spin the
[01:33:36] propeller okay that might be it take it when you're doing that look at the C clip on the bottom because it might be the propeller spinning on the motor shaft so as you spin the propeller look at the
[01:33:53] C clip okay so this is the propeller spinning on the motor shaft when I when I'm doing this whether or not that's the at the end there I was sending this motor power and it wasn't
[01:34:09] spinning which is a bad sign that means either the motor has died or that ESC channel is died I'm going to move the motor wires around a little bit here and plug it back in put it back
[01:34:26] into Turtle mode and see what happens all right Turtle mode left rear motor it's spinning again man is it making a weird noise though all right I'm not going to push it any harder I'm going to take that
[01:34:48] motor off and swap that motor out because if motor is the problem I could potentially kill the ESC right now and I'm I don't think I have it in me to put a third AO in this thing I I think that
[01:35:05] might just be like I give up I have no problems with with rigs breaking but when they break and then I fly two I fix it and I fly two batteries and it breaks again and then I fix it and I fly two
[01:35:21] batteries and it breaks again that [@$#%] gets old real fast and I'm just sort of over that so I'm going to unplug this motor I have a bunch more of these motors I'm going to unplug this one swap
[01:35:37] it out and oh the hold on something's going on right now the the motor is locked up right now which could be hold on what is happening so maybe the C clip is like jamming up
[01:35:56] against the bottom of the frame somehow let me see this motor is completely locked up right now all right so I just got it free but it's really hard to turn why are you so
[01:36:13] hard to turn the C clip is rotating oh is this a bearing motor I bet you this is a bearing motor I bet you that's the sound of the bearings failing that's why it was so high
[01:36:32] pitched I'm pretty sure this is a bearing motor and I bet you the bearings just [@$#%] the bed I'm totally fine with that these Zing 803s only have a 1 mm motor shaft
[01:36:49] and so that's going to just explode in crashes these are not the motors that that that we're gonna be wanna we're gonna want to be running I'm just testing this because it's another
[01:37:04] set of 803s and it's just like good data I might just pull these motors off and just this isn't I I can almost certainly tell you that this is not the motor that you want to
[01:37:21] run what I'm looking at right now is if I've managed to Bend Motor Bells already let me fire this thing up in in Turtle mode I'm going to fire the other three motors up in Turtle mode real
[01:37:35] quick to see if there's some vibrations going on these motors were clean a few batteries ago that's motor 4 it feels okay that's motor 2 it feels kind of okay all right so I haven't bent the motor
[01:37:58] shafts yet I haven't really crashed it very hard either though so that's not super surprising I'm going to change this motor out th this is probably why it was it was yall twitching so
[01:38:15] I'm going to throw this motor away put another one on there and do a little bit more flying tomorrow with this thing and we'll talk about it on Sunday it flies really good with these
[01:38:27] motors on it as you could just see it outperforms the the 1S rig by a lot but these motors are never going to take the abuse that this thing's going to be able to throw at them you know
[01:38:41] this thing has big Power it's going to hit hard and these little 1 mm shaft Motors are not going to survive but this is a really good data point comparing this 803 to the sub 250 803 so
[01:38:57] like that's going to be the next set of Motors that I test man there's that squeaking I think the bearings died I think one of the bearings died huh apparently bearings on these
[01:39:11] little tiny Motors are not a good idea supposedly none of the little tiny bearings that fit these things are rated for the RPM that we're turning
[01:39:24] and this could very well be an example of that so I don't know I'm tempted to save the bell in case I have another one of these let go but I'm also tempted to just throw it
[01:39:49] in the goddamn garbage because I do have a bunch more of these motors there we go let me get caught back up on chat JM FP JMP FPV says what goggle setup do you recommend for tiny whoop
[01:40:06] digitalanalog I have a cheap pair of analoges for whoops and fly o3s on bigger rigs there's not like one set of Motors that I one set of goggles rather that I could sort of tell you to get
[01:40:21] but for me a old set of fat sharks used is going to be a really good value you can find like fat shark these are old school HD 3s you can find hdos HD o2s for
[01:40:38] pretty cheap and these are awesome they're small they're light they're comfortable there's nothing like an old school set of fat sharks so that's that would be my my main
[01:40:49] suggestion is to get an old set of fat sharks the goggles that are currently being made are great and the DVRs are better and whatnot but you're gonna spend a lot more money so old fat
[01:41:02] sharks for the win unless you want DVR the old fat shark DVR is terrible so but it depends Joshua Bardwell has tons of goggle reviews he's who you want to look at he's tested them all
[01:41:15] I've I've tried a lot of different goggles but definitely not all of them and I've I've only like ever tried go most goggles I've just tried for like five minutes if that Joshua has
[01:41:27] goggles get sent to him so he gets to actually like fly his own Rigs and Liv them for a little bit so his goggle reviews are are amazing Delta strot 6949 says what is your thoughts about
[01:41:39] the Bido prospec the Bido build is completely uninteresting to me if I'm honest it's really heavy so the power to weight ratio is not nearly as good good as a regular
[01:41:54] tiny whoop and then without the the prop guards if you crash it in the grass it'll never Turtle mode you're always going to have to walk and get it which is obnoxious and then it's also
[01:42:08] because it doesn't have the prop guards again it slides around a lot so the whole point of flying a little rig like this outside is that you can fly this thing through every single Gap
[01:42:20] regardless of how small it is and the prop guards SL ducts help you with that they keep it from sliding a lot and so to get rid of these you end up with a rig that's less accurate and harder to
[01:42:34] shoot gaps with it won't Turtle mode the power to weight ratio is worse because it's heavier and so it's like what what does this thing do it's adorable it looks really cool sitting on your
[01:42:46] shelf but like for flying it just doesn't do anything better does bbby rip the [@$#%] out of his of course are you as good of a pilot as him absolutely not and so your experience with it is
[01:43:02] going to be drastically different than his if he flew it and then flew a an a tiny whoop that was built the same he would fly better with the tiny whoop period unquestionably because this flies
[01:43:14] better this shoots gaps better it's lighter weight it's more durable it Turtle modes when there's a blade of grass next to it so the the Bido it's super cool looking but it
[01:43:29] doesn't do anything well I had one for a while and I I really tried to like it Dexter says what's the most premium esc's and FL flight controllers I saw fly color the other day and they look
[01:43:42] great with also hobbywing there's almost zero info about them out there Fly color is definitely not the most premium supposedly they're pretty good though I think Brandon's baked beans was
[01:43:57] telling me at one point that fly color stuff is pretty good the most premium is acon but they're really hard to find they make t- Motors more expensive stuff so the the expensive t-motor
[01:44:11] electronics are really nice because they're made by acon hobby Wings technically pretty premium stuff I've had terrible luck with it as have many other people that are not sponsored
[01:44:25] by hobbywing that's about it there there isn't much premium stuff out there which makes sense because we smash these things into metal poles and brick walls and whatnot so FPV Luke says
[01:44:39] late to the party hope everybody having a great stream so far Lun 187 says back from the dead also missed my newbie drone I had still running meteor 65 need new batteries for it
[01:44:52] it's been a minute I remember you Lon tiny whooping is completely different now it's is so much better it's wild JMP FV says thanks you're certainly welcome all right cool this is the
[01:45:09] battery that I ran down I believe let me just double check good to go 3.8 it bounced back to 3.8 which is perfect because now I don't have storage charge it that's why I like to land at
[01:45:26] 3.5 volts at a hover the batteries end up bouncing back bouncing up to storage voltage and that's like best case scenario right because then you don't have to storage voltage charge
[01:45:39] them which is insane and nobody ever does constantly but there you go well I I did this stream kind of backwards I I should have I should have been working on the
[01:46:01] I should have been working on the the prepping of the ao5 build while I was answering questions from the chat I kind of did this wrong because now there's I'm caught up
[01:46:15] on the chat and I have that prep work still to do let's really quickly check out the now lighter weight 32,000 KV rig it's probably not going to have Motors spinning the right direction anyway and
[01:46:27] I don't feel like diving into BetaFlight so hang on one second let's just take this offline of sight real quick this is the brand new tiny whoop 180 degree BT 2.0 LED thing it's
[01:46:41] awesome you'll see it's on their new it's on their website it's one of the new products of course this is the wrong module why wouldn't it be if I had if I had purple 5 in
[01:46:54] battery straps made with my logo on them would you guys buy them erone had some made why is the right front motor just twitching don't do this to me don't be like
[01:47:16] this don't do it don't do it okay we're good ready point that pink LED at you hold on I'm so bad at line of sight oh God I just I can't do anything tail in once it's tail in I my head just
[01:47:56] explodes wow that right front motor is having some issues it could be the the C clip rubbing on the frame so I'm just going to go here's this is actually the first time I'm going to be
[01:48:06] unplugging this oh that's awesome that that little I gotta show this to you guys this is this is hot stuff right here there it is so it's takes care of The 100 80° on the BT 2.0 plug but it
[01:48:26] also gives you these two LED chips see those little orange bastards those are two LED chips this is what they they they come totally apart I've put this together I've put the BT 2.0 onto the
[01:48:38] little PCB but what's nice is this gives you perfect grip to be able to unplug this damn thing really easily this is amazing these are great I'm going to put these on everything from
[01:48:48] now on and they have in a bunch of different colors they don't have purple though which makes me want to scream but they do have red I have I have two red ones left there so that's
[01:48:59] pretty awesome I am going to unscrew this motor and I'm going to clearance this Center motor hole a little bit more which will hopefully help with this problem the light AF
[01:49:15] frames the central hole that the motor shaft and the C clip poke through on half HappyModel Motors they contact so you have to file these Central holes here out a little bit or drill them out
[01:49:32] careful drilling them out the supports are very fragile all right so we're good I'm not going to fly anymore I I I brought a couple batteries down that's fine
[01:49:45] I'm not going to keep running that thing with with that motor being a little bit weird and we're fine so ask any questions you got because I'm going to do a little bit of ao5 prep
[01:49:58] and then I'll prep the rest of it tonight so that I'm thinking that on Sunday's live stream we get that build knocked out put it up in the air get it bound get it all
[01:50:11] figured out put it up in the air start flying the [@$#%] out of it I think that's the deal but first thing I need to do to prep for this build is I'm going to be using the Mobula 6 C canopy
[01:50:22] the old school Mobula 6 canopy this is the lighter weight camera the lens of the camera does not fit through the opening in the front of this canopy and the the way that the
[01:50:36] camera sits in here this lens opening sits where the this lens housing sits exactly where this opening is so this opening has to be clearanced for that and so I got to take half decent amount of
[01:50:54] material out of there sure you could use a Dremel but that's going to do an awful lot in a hurry so I really prefer to use a file that is rounded on one side and flat on the other and
[01:51:08] just remove material hold the lens in there see how close you are remove a little bit more doing it slowly like this is the way to go because the front of this Mobula 6 frame
[01:51:25] you're going to have to remove a good amount of material you could very easily make the front of this Frame a weak point and I don't these frames are these Mobula 6 canopy I keep I said
[01:51:39] frame I meant to say canopy these mobul old school Mobula 6 canopies are becoming a little bit hard to find I don't know if maybe they've been discontinued but
[01:51:53] I don't want to run out of them because I use them on pretty much everything so removing a little bit of material at a time is the way to go Pico for fre says battery straps
[01:52:10] yes please need a few for carbon one to 3 in builds too I'm going to do if I do battery straps I'll definitely do 5in battery straps but I'm also going to do micro battery straps
[01:52:26] that W it's really hard to find Battery straps that are long enough but not too long for 4S 850mah batteries so if I do the and I think this company will let you do different lengths and so
[01:52:42] that'll be really cool and that'll work that so the the perfect length for a 4S 850 is going to be a little bit too long for the the smaller batteries but that should be
[01:52:57] totally fine H you won't be able to cut the battery strap down but it's better to have the battery strap a little bit too long than a little bit too short to a point on the there is
[01:53:08] a point where they're way too long and then they get hung up in the props and it's all bad but micro battery straps are few and far between I usually take 5- in battery
[01:53:23] straps and then cut them down sub Delux says got to go prep for the stream make sure to God make sure to wipe front to back yikes my God man all
[01:53:42] right so let's check that and see how far we've gotten we still got a ways to go JMP FPV says how how do I identify which Ur is which on a board I asked Bardwell and he
[01:54:04] doesn't know it will either be silk screened on the board itself if it is not you need to find a wiring diagram on the internet so type the name of the board into Google and then type wiring
[01:54:20] diagram Talon F7 flight controller wiring diagram and on the wiring diagram it'll tell you what the pads are it's pretty much the only way if they're not if it's not silk screened on
[01:54:36] there that's pretty much the only way that's actually one of the really big problems with how with the fact that these manufacturers constantly discontinue stuff and replace it with a
[01:54:51] new product that's barely better sometimes not better sometimes worse is that like we have all these old electronics now and it's becoming harder and harder to find the wiring diagrams
[01:55:07] for them and in some cases they didn't silk screen what the pads were on them and so that becomes more and more of a problem every single day unfortunately but with enough
[01:55:21] digging you can usually find the wire wiring diagram not always though sometimes they're gone to the lost to the ether Pano fre says I don't fly 5 in but I'd pick one up for more seti
[01:55:34] merch nice it's very cool of you all right so that's the deal with this I'm going to do more filing in front of the television tonight one of the other things that we have to
[01:55:54] do is solder up these motor plugs and that's a good thing for me to show you guys because we can talk through some some quick soldering tips crom says I'd pick up a SE
[01:56:13] goggle headband if you made one with a battery holder those are not as I don't first of all I don't know a company that would make those but those are not as battery straps like you
[01:56:29] break and you run them on a whole bunch of your different rigs right head straps like you get one and you're done and so I don't and I don't have any like connections to anybody
[01:56:42] that makes them that I know of so I this is this is me trying to say nicely don't hold your breath this is the omniix so it is awesome for this kind of stuff soldering these motor plug
[01:57:00] headers on is all about getting the the AO into a place where you can hold the damn thing on but also get some solder in so it's all about like setup you don't necessarily have to be good at
[01:57:18] soldering you just have to get the board into the right position and so on one side of the board there's like a little bracket here that shows you how the plug header
[01:57:32] goes right so it goes like this with the thick side in right so there you go so it's going to cover up that silk screen hole so the trick is you got to get you gotta keep it up in
[01:57:50] there but then you got to get onto the other side you got to get solder wow that's really small oh God okay this this is going to be tough so let's see what we can do
[01:58:09] here let's see what we can do all right let's try it this way the board has to sit really low y what I might be able to do come to think of it hold on is this the low
[01:58:31] point if this is the low point I might just be able to sit's on the damn desk but the USB port is probably longer God damn it just fell out again hold
[01:58:46] on oh boy oh hold on just getting it threaded through here there we go all right so can I just put it down that's N9 o' my friends go get you some Super Deluxe and or spider sugar I
[01:59:10] am now in their time slots but I do want to try to get at least one of these things soldered on so let me actually put second one on that's right next to it cuz right now
[01:59:25] it's just like wobbling around so let's see if I put this second one on that looks pretty good hold on let me hold it up the table is holding them in there nice okay so that's actually how I'm
[01:59:50] going to do it these pads man they are small all right so this is how I'm going to recommend that you do it put two of these on and then just drop it down on your desk like this I I I
[02:00:11] kind of want to put it down on the silicone but it's already down here and it'll and it probably won't move around I I love this silicone mat cuz it's got a little grip to it
[02:00:22] so stuff doesn't slide all all the hell around but I think it'll be all right here so we want to get this right on the first shot cuz these pads are really close together so we're going to do all
[02:00:38] the things we're going to properly flux we are going to get everything into position before the we're going to just follow all of our Basics is what's going on here
[02:00:55] I'm also going to be doing this without tinning the pads or the pins and that makes it a lot harder as well so again you really get flux on there to do it this way and when I'm
[02:01:13] on each one of these pads I'm going to have to be very patient to let this solder go down through so this is the the name of the game here is going to be putting enough
[02:01:27] heat into each one of these pads to let the the the pad itself the through hole pull solder down so we're going to Tin the tip just a little bit and then come in
[02:01:45] here and we're going to try to add a little bit of solder to the pad and just be patient perfect now is the hard part because these pads are real close there it
[02:02:12] goes W I think I got it yikes all right I gotta I gotta really brace my hand on this desk try to get the third one here and so what I'm trying to do is use the tip of the soldering iron to heat
[02:02:34] the pad up and then push the solder basically into the hole the fresh solder is going to is going to move itself around really really well because it's got a bunch of flux in it those should be good I'm I'm
[02:02:51] just going to go right to the next one we're on a roll let's just keep going you got to look for the solder to like seep down and see how that solder is chasing the the soldering iron there probably
[02:03:16] not because it's probably not in Focus but that means that there's not enough flux when I worked on that first pad first set of pads it got the whole aiio hot and then that the flux that I'd
[02:03:34] put on this set of pads disappeared that's normal reflux it rework the pad and it won't chase the tip of the soldering iron anymore solder flows towards heat the tip of the soldering iron is
[02:03:54] hot you got to transfer that heat to the pad so that the solder wants to be on the pad and it spreads around the pad if it's chasing the tip of the soldering iron you didn't get the pad
[02:04:11] hot enough wow there we go there's all three of them I know you guys probably couldn't see [@$#%] there but my God that was that is small stuff it came out pretty good
[02:04:34] though there's the one there's the other and actually I can even do this I've been able to do this in the past let's see if I can do it tonight here let's see this is a
[02:04:51] macro a phone macro lens that kind of works all right ready there we go look at that see there's the one there's the other look how close some of those components
[02:05:16] are tough but I'll tell you what without flux I wouldn't have been able to do that the flux like really made that somewhat doable that is those are some small pads boy
[02:05:34] this is not going to be an AO for new pilots if if you're if you're not very confident soldering you're going to want to buy the the BNF I wonder if the BNF has the
[02:05:52] motor plugs on it anybody know anybody in chat know the answer to that oh man these next two are going to be a real bastard because the USB port is taller so the table is not going to be
[02:06:11] able to hold these things up in position let me try this what if I hang the USB off the side yep that's the move so hang the USB off the side of the thing
[02:06:27] here and then that'll hold the plug flat see that so that's the move for this next one those first two it's no big deal if you do if you put both of the you son of a
[02:06:50] [@$#%] the magnets on these things attract everything okay let's try that again so put one of these guys in and all right hold it on there with your thumb oh I put it on the opposite side
[02:07:20] so now we're going to have to put this this way okay and I just did the exact same thing right so put it on a little thingy there and then just hang that off that's going to
[02:07:36] hold sorry guys that's going to hold the plug in there nice and flat and straight look at that anybody that says hitting things doesn't work I mean you're right
[02:07:57] but it feels good to hit things all right let's see how this one goes flux name of the game is going to be flux and patience in that order all right let's
[02:08:25] see you guys aren't going to be able to see this I I have to turn this around and do it the other way because I need the soldering iron to be on one
[02:08:38] side and then the bing bong to be on the other side so I have to do it like this all right here we go and so the tip of the soldering iron is going on the outside of the pad and
[02:08:59] then I'm going to try to push solder in from the inside of the pad one down two down all three I think I don't think that bridged but it might have it did not
[02:09:38] awesome oh I didn't get quite enough solder on that second joint but it's actually totally fine it's there's a little void in the solder but it's only on the outside on
[02:09:55] like the castellated part and that's totally fine we're not we're not soldering to that so that's okay we're good last one this one I can do it back in this normal Direction same kind of deal I'm
[02:10:11] going to put this down over the over a ledge so that the USB hangs off and then this guy's here we're going to flux them okay and hang on one second oh I just wanted to clean the tip
[02:10:46] of the flux syringe come on now there it goes ebod again asks why are you putting motor plugs on same answer as before I test lots of stuff and without motor plugs
[02:11:08] testing takes orders of magnitude longer also a rig with direct soldered Motors is a rig that I typically won't fly very hard because these little Motors break a lot and if I have to pull
[02:11:28] the entire rig apart to change a motor out I'm just that's just insane that's just a ridiculous amount of work to have to do we have Motors available that give us plenty of power
[02:11:43] using the motor plugs and typically plenty of runtime on analog builds I'll say plenty of runtime so with with freestyle flying there's not a great argument to be made for direct
[02:12:01] soldering Motors okay they're fluxed they're about to get soldiered here we go I'll try to show you guys this one okay here we go I'm also probably shaking a little
[02:12:49] bit because I'm hungry oh man there is a chip right there I think I got it though we're good no Bridges my God soldering comes out so clean when you use
[02:13:34] flux it's just absolutely ridiculous how good of a solder joint you can get when using flux I think I can also hold on I think I can also shoot this camera through the 5x Loop
[02:13:51] that might give it give you an even better view or not or it just won't focus at all it's focusing a little bit I guess there it goes look at that chip right next to
[02:14:11] those pads and then same thing over here that's tough man I mean there's no other way if you're going to squeeze two 25x 25 boards onto one you're going to have to have chips everywhere and it's it's
[02:14:30] you know it's going to make soldering to it challenging what's nice is they have those castellated pads for those on the outside of the board which would actually be easier
[02:14:45] with this board it would actually be easier to direct solder the motors than to install those plug headers so if you're going to take on this ao5 hd0
[02:14:59] ao5 think about maybe direct soldering the motors wow okay so they give you an antenna in here wait till you see this holy hell I'm pretty sure my build's going to
[02:15:17] be more than 20 grams that's okay though look at this antenna that they give you with this thing this this is.2 grams what must this be like look at the difference in thickness of the wire and
[02:15:43] like the length this is the wrong length here wow this is asininely [Laughter] lightweight wow okay I'm not going to use the one that they included I'm going to take a 0.1
[02:16:05] gram hit and I'm going to use this one because I know that this is the proper length the the full length of the antenna matters the the main thing that matters is the length of the active
[02:16:17] element but the full length actually does matter for the wavelength this is a crazy little antenna that they give you this is hysterically lightweight wow that's that's
[02:16:32] wild like I said though I'm not going to use it Cole power says I think I've heard those called Crescent pads might have been JB I've called them Crescent pads before for some for some reason very
[02:16:45] recently I finally remembered I I've looked it up a bunch of times recently at final set into my brain and I'm now remembering that they're actually called castellated pads I
[02:16:57] think that's what it is right castellated solder pads casted mounting holes there they are on the outside I man I've had a hell of a time oh look at that look how cool that
[02:17:18] is a little Cube what I want to make I want to solder together a PCB Cube that's dope all right I think that's a good spot to stop how does the camera hookup do you D I
[02:17:38] guess you direct solder the camera there's probably a set of pads so on I guess Sunday's live stream we'll do do this build we're going to solder up the
[02:17:54] camera I will have figured out the canopy by then oh by the way by the way by the way by the way the only reason that we can use this camera in this canopy is that they have very
[02:18:10] kindly put the holes in the corners of this camera just like the Mobula 6 2024 FX Camera and just like the RunCam Nano 3 I I I was so happy to see the holes in the PCB when I got this camera out
[02:18:30] it looks other camera for this system it's gives you a little bit better image quality but I bet you it's not going to have these holes in it so I'm probably going to stick with this
[02:18:39] camera but we'll see we'll see so there's four wires coming out of the camera powerr video and menu it's probably like a TX RX so we'll solder up the camera on
[02:18:55] the next stream plug in the longer antenna I will already have fixed the canopy and mounted the camera in the canopy there's another little piece that you screw to the back of the camera and
[02:19:08] then you screw this inside the canopy so that'll all be done the frame is ready to go I'll get those Motors out they're going to be plugged in so I just have to screw them down that'll be easy
[02:19:20] uh I got to figure out what I'm doing for look at this they actually give you a little 180 degree a30 which is they've done exactly what I used to do with the the little piece of
[02:19:35] shrink wrap here and they they wrapped them so that was kind of cool this is cool to see I don't know if I'll go with this maybe I'll go with the little with another one of these little
[02:19:48] 180 LED dealies that'll be kind of cool or maybe I'll just use this because it came with it we'll see but come on back on Sunday we'll do this HD zero build with 40,000 KV Motors
[02:20:08] 40,000 and maybe on that stream we'll fly this 16.4 gram rig that's also on 40,000 KV Motors to see what it looks like to rip a wormhole out of your anus no to rip a wormhole through space
[02:20:26] and time there you go you guys one I could tell all right friends thanks for hanging CF pv.com support me I'll keep doing this forever here's the rest of the
[02:20:44] battery nope here's the same flight that I played at the beginning of the live stream this is the the 2S 75mm WalkSnail rig on The iflight Zing 0803 19,000 KV Motors limited down to
[02:21:01] 85% before the motor [@$#%] the bed any little bit of weirdness is probably the bearings on this motor that let go that I took off so it flew great it felt awesome great power run time was
[02:21:18] acceptable so 803s are a real thing see you guys Sunday bye-bye n n a
